------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Midnight Club: Los Angeles Trophy Guide Explored and Written by 91210user ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Midnight Club: Los Angeles Trophy Guide Introduction Before Starting The Game Trophy Overview - Main Game Trophies - DLC: South Central Premium Upgrade Trophies Trophy Walkthrough End ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Introduction ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A guide to obtaining all the trophies for the game. Unfortuately this isn't the case anymore since the servers have been offline since GameSpy shut down along with the servers back in 2012 however if anyone wants to play the single player part of the game and gather up the other trophies and wants some help then hopefully this guide should help. The trophies are esstintally the entire game. Many of them are straightforward, just take part in many races or use features found within the game and obtain trophies but when progressing later in the game, the trophies are sometimes much of a challenge and thought to collect, so hopefully this guide will explain how to obtain these trophies. So why would anyone would want to play this game ten years after the game release when the servers have shut down and no point getting all the trophies? Personally, I believe Midnight Club: Los captured the street race scene back then extremely well which is why I went out to play the game. You could explore Los Angeles and drive exotic vehicles and the HUD looks nicely lit up back then, so I was very comfortable playing this game. However I was a little bit surprised that the game is plagued with problems and it affects not only gameplay but also consoles also, hence why I thought it is worth while starting up an FAQ over it to address these. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before Starting The Game: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Midnight Club: Los Angeles is very unfortunate for having many issues where the game freezes and causes consoles simply not to work, which I'm not surprised about considering I've played alot of games published Rockstar Games with the amount of times I've had to replace the lasers across my consoles just to finish them. I would see why many would want the PC version. Not good. Los Angeles is no exception with the stories I've read and looked up. Not the first time. Some of the problems the game has. If you play the game on discs, you are more prone to having your laser life shorterned. This maybe because and my best guess, while playing the game and speeding across the land and cityscape of the game, the game has to load the world data and textures. As the players drive at very high speeds to ensure that the game renders in order to allow the game look like the streets of LA however this wouldn't give the disc laser and the power feeding the laser a rest, so the laser loses the potental power it needs to read discs later within its life. This isn't the first time that has happened. I've had the same problem with Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition Remix as that game was printed on DVD-9 discs on the PlayStation 2. The game also freezes. Many reasons for this freeze. Was said the servers would cause the game to freeze, but even with the servers down, the game would freeze after heavily progression. What I found was having too much money in your bank would cause the freeze. This is when you have slighty more money then one million dollars, around $1,250,000 when the freeze started to occur. Well in my case. This will freeze the game before any events have started and even trying to enter the garage will cause your game to freeze. There seems there isn't a fix for it. It's extremely problematic after finishing the game as the game forces you to keep hold of your money, so this freeze will occur after finishing the main story in the game and setting out to complete all the other races earning money which you cannot spend any money on. continuing to obtain all the other trophies would be almost be non-obtainable and even more worst, having to restart the entire game again. You will be forced to restart the entire game so if you haven't back up your saved game, you'll have to endure the entire game again and work hard playing the missions or trying to earn that new exotic car again and start over to try and get the later trophies. I was lucky, I managed to back up a save file on my PlayStation 3 and to continue finishing the game and obtaining the trophies that I wanted to help me finish this guide after I experienced this glitch. I do this many times to many of the games I play considering that I've lost files on memory cards or hard drives on PC games, simply worth while to back up file data of games I like to play and finish. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Trophies Walkthrough - For the FAQ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Race Events Trophies (Offline) Streaker - Win 5 races in a row offline. Straight forward. Win 5 races and you'll obtain this trophy. What's a Speed Limit? - Win 15 dynamic freeway races. Dynamic Freeway races are races found on the freeways or highways, which ever you would prefer to be called. They are races with the freeway symbol on the markers, like a shield. Complete 15 of these and you'll obtain this trophy. The races start instantly when you flash your headlights at the other racer on the freeway, so they would be completely very quickly. Winning With Less - Win 10 races on a motorcycle. Once you afford and have access to the motorcycles within the game, winning 10 races on these would allow you to obtain this trophy. Go on Green - Win 15 Red Light Races. Red Light Races (a suggestive name for an event) are races which start off at a red light at an intersection of road. They are labelled by a market with a traffic light with the top light lit up (which represent red on a traffic light). Completing 15 of these would have you obtain this trophy. Destroyer of Worlds - Successfully destroy 15 opponent vehicles using the Payback vehicle at the Beaches garage. Payback events are events were you have to ram into other drivers against a time limit. The missions usually have five vehicles to look for during each session. Crash into 15 vehicles and you'll earn this trophy. Here for a Pickup - Successfully deliver 15 vehicles out of the Hollywood garage. Simply take care in the delivery event and deliver 15 vehicles for this event then you'll obtain this trophy. Competitive Glory - Win each of the 4 tournaments at least one time. During the game, are there racers who set up tournaments. There are four of them over-all. Complete each of them once and you'll obtain this trophy. To keep track, you'll eventfully race them anyways, so the chances are, you'll obtain this trophy with little thought if you just progress and complete the missions during the career. Uncle Time - Finish the first mission for each of the 4 time trials. Time trials are events with a stop watch on their marker. They are events were you are given a car and you have to race to each checkpoint within the time limit. You have to complete 4 trials. They are hard, making this a rather tough trophy to obtain, so set aside alot of time to get use to the tracks the trials are based on. Father Time - Completely unlock a time trial by completing all 3 missions. Complete the missions of the game story normally and you'll unlock a time trial to obtain this trophy. Not sure which specfic mission but it is early from e game. Mild Dedication - In Goal Attack, complete every goal for one race. Goal Attacks are almost a separate game of their own because it uses all the races in the game but sets out another challenge, more on this later with the later trophy. This trophy Mild Dedication is a nice start to get a very good idea for what a Goal Attack race is. If you really want this trophy, just select one of the more quicker events and complete all the requirements to earn this trophy. It is very easy to select a very short and quick race to get this trophy. That is Mild Dedication awarded. True Dedication - All Goal attacks must be unlocked and every goal for every race completed. Maybe the most time consuming (and annoying) trophy to earn thoughtout the entire game because of how many races and how strict the requirement is to unlock this trophy. This trophy had taken me 20 hours to complete and loads of trial and error. It wasn't nice. There is a satifying way to progress the requirements in Goal Attacks. Goal Attacks races have four different requirements to fulfil. There are 74 races, so this will be time consuming. Each race has four requirements, they are being 1st, having your vehicle not sustain 25% or more damage and finishing each race at a certain amount of time. The final requirement is getting all the previous three requirements during one race. You'll have to take part in races in the career mode to unlock these races around the game, which is how you'll unlock them. You may first want to take part in every single race in order to see which races you are good at and simply finishing them and getting first place, this way, you'll have an idea which races you get be good at and even get lucky by completing all the requirements for some of the races then others, so it's a good start to getting all the requirements lit up. You are better using all your nitro during all races, as the game time may take nitro into account to reaching the times set. Next, to complete all the other races, you are better starting off with the quicker races first. This way you wouldn't get frustrated trying to complete each race. A few races take from 40 seconds to a minute to complete. After that, take part in the minutes that take under 2 minutes, then complete the races which takes around and over 3 minutes to finish and they aren't much races lasting 3 minutes. There are a few races which last over 4 minutes. This is a good way of taking each race one at a time and slowing watching the requirements completed light up as complete. Remember to back up your save from time to time as it is best also. Losing all that hard work wouldn't be nice news. After a while, taking part of the later races and completing the quicker races early, you'll get to the longer races, you'll feel like cruising in them as you get near to completing all the requirements. There are four different categories to class races in Goal Attack, which are Single Sprint Races, Circuit Races, Checkpoint Races and Landmark Races. You may be better starting off the Landmark Races as they very quick to complete as many of them are under or a few seconds over a minute. The Checkpoint Races are races where you can race to any checkpoint you want, then with the requirements, you'll have to find the fastest route to furfil the time requirement. Worth noting that they don't use these races the career mode of the game. Circuit Races aren't as easy as they look. While you can replenish your nitro by finishing a lap, some circult races are extremely tough as some circults have sections that behave like tough obstacles. The race Railroad is a good example, as there's a section which has a gas station before hitting the railroad and crashing into it and that's your damage requirement unfulfilled. Circuit Races aren't what they seem because they're not a complete circult sometimes, the starting line starts off somewhere else and runs into the circult, so it's at times confusing and the game image makes it look like it's worth while. The other better way is to use the motorcycle, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14. Motorcycles are very easy to weave in and out of traffic however the only draw back is that they are very prone to damage even when you make jumps and land on the road and wall riding, you vehicle would sustain damage, so you wouldn't complete all the requirements in one race as easily, so extra care on motorcycles. Having the Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster and Saleen S7 helps. The Saleen isn't as useful as it is very very light, so taking turns are risky at high speeds when needed and causes the vehicle to flip over. The Murcielago is durable but not as fast as the Saleen S7 but they allow you to complete some races, not all on time. After a while, you'll get fed up of crashing, so you'll more likely would use the Ninja to take part in the later races and trying to avoid crashing or damaging the cycle. Do all of that and take your time and congrats you have earn one of the most time conmusing trophies in the game. The Winner - Win 180 offline races. Over the course of the game, you'll be gathering up win during races. Progress can be seen in the progress tab when you pause the game. You'll obtain this trophy. Free Roaming Trophies Neither Bird nor Plane - Travel 1020 feet in a single jump. If you are lucky, you'll get this trophy. I got this trophy using nitro by he LA River where the ramps are and I managed to get over 1020 feet, thus unlocking this trophy. Wanted Man - Pull over while the police are in 'pull over' mode, then drive away during the ticketing cutscene. Maybe a way to show off what the game offers, when the police see you perform a minor traffic violation and your hud telling you, Out On Bail - Evade the police successfully when they are in pursuit. The police are rather tough in the game, you'll have to get a fast vehicle and make sure not to damage out and escape and you'll obtain this trophy. The Basics - Complete one of the missions you receive in the mission log. Just complete one of the missions marked in the GPS and this trophy is yours. Paparazzi - Save 16 photos to your photo album. Can take a while because the photo features takes a while to load and save screenshots and photos. Saving Los Angeles - Enter the Race Editor, create a race, and then save it. What the thophy description pretty much says and this trophy is yours. Unicycle - Drive a cumulative total of 50 miles while doing a wheelie on a motorcycle. Using the circle button and leaning back on the right analog stick will make you do a wheelie. Doing this for 50 miles will net you this trophy. You can check your progress in the progress tab of the pause menu. Better to drive like this in free roaming and hope the police don't get in the way because they will. Just Get A Motorcycle - In a car, drive a cumulative total of 50 miles on 2 wheels. Like for the motorcycle, using the circle button but this time, pushing the right analog stick to the left or right will make the car drive on two wheels in classic Midnight Club style fashion. Driving like this for 50 miles will give you this trohpy. Have Car, Will Travel - Drive a total of 5,000 miles, including any miles driven online or offline. Simply playing the game would allow you to gather miles, use the progression tab in the pause menu to view how many miles you have already drive. Like the trophy says, you can do this offline and online. Rags To Riches - Have $1 million dollars in the bank while playing in Los Angeles. Shouldn't be too hard, there would be a mission where you'll have to gather up $1 million in the game anyways. I actually suggest you make a back up before spending it, because after this point, the game will crash if you earn anymore money if you ever decide to spend it or not. Collect these and this trophy is obtained. Where in the World? - Find half of the collectables in Los Angeles. Refer to the following trophy Waldo's Still Missing to obtain these... Waldo's Still Missing - Find all the collectables in Los Angeles. There are other guides and maps which show all the locations of the barrels. Google Search it if you like. There is one on IGN: http://uk.ign.com/faqs /2008/midnight-club-la-remix-spike-the-best-collectible-barrels-map-923932 The guide doesn't take into account the level or which height the barrels are located. The FAQ on GameFAQs by KevBowler300 helps alot because the map take into account the level these barrels are on and also how to reach them as some are located in locked off sections in the world, this FAQ explains in detail how to get it: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps3/939534-midnight-club-los-angeles/faqs/58671 That will help you get those barrels and you'll unlock that trophy. It's How You Play The Game - Finish 300 offline races. Winning is not required. Complete 300 races offline. You can track the amount of races you've won in the progress tab in the pause menu. Jordan Jumpman - Spend more than 10 minutes in the air. Brought to you by JORDAN BRAND. Over the course of the game, have some air time during events and free roaming. You'll eventfully have this trophy after 10 minutes worth of airtime. = = = Online Events Trophies = = = Very non-obtainable trophies because of the servers shutting down. Better safe then sorry, it's been said that these take alot of time to obtain these trophies within the game. Well done to those who have them. Getting Off the Bench - Enter an online cruise and join a proposed race. From cruise mode online, enter a race. Trophy obtained Who Made This? - Enter a Race Editor Race online. Find a custom made race online and race on it, this will obtain this trophy. Ranking Up - Win 20 Tiered Matches online. Enter Tier Matches and win 20 of them. Postman - Deliver 100 flags in Capture the Flag or other battle matches. Self explainity Crossing the Line - Finish 50 races online. Self explainity Master Thief - Steal 80 flags while playing Capture the Flag or other battle matches. A rather tough trophy if you ask me. Not everyone actually plays Capture the Flag while everyone is racing online and offline together with the huge size of the game. While playing, you'll have to ram into the players vehicle who has a flag to take it from them. Doing this 80 times will obtain this trophy. = = = Online Social Trophies = = = Again, due to the server shut down, these trophies are no longer obtainable. Turn in the Work - Submit a vehicle to Rate My Ride. From the options tab, just select to submit your design toRate my Rate and you'll have this trophy in no time. Everyone's a Critic - Rate 25 rides online. Rate 25 designs found online. You'll have this trophy in no time. T-Mobile myFaves - Join an online game with 5 of your friends. Stay Connected with MyFaves from T-Mobile. Maybe the hardest trophy to get. Make some friends and have a game among them, just finish the event and this trophy is obtained. Powerups Trophy Powerup Trophies are all achieved the same way. Once you've unlocked the powerups during the course of the game, equip them from the garage screen and win races. Winning races will allow you to gather up points to help level up these trophies. These are the for you'll have to unlock and they are all unlocked the same way. Set To Stun - Unlock Level 3 EMP. Hear me Roar! - Unlock Level 3 ROAR. Anger Management - Unlock Level 3 AGRO. Zoning Out - Unlock Level 3 ZONE. Champs Trophy Many have wondered how to get these trophies. You'll drive around with 98% completion rate in the game and the champs will never appear, so it has made people wonder how you get the champs to appear in the city. First, you'll get the City Champ to apporach you after finishing the game but then the other champs wait. The other champs will appear but you'll have to set yourself to be approachable for the challenges to appear. To make this happen, just select a vehicle within a vehicle class to the champs and complete the ever repeatable tournaments and other missions events towards the end of the game and then you'll have a challenge from these champs. I'm not sure why but the game does check to see what vehicle you are driving around with after trying this method which is my best guess. These races appear. Take part in these events and you'll obtain all these trophies. Two Wheels of Fury - Beat the Motorcycle Champ. How Exotic - Beat the Exotic Champ. In the Lap of… - Beat the Luxury Champ. Name that Tuner - Beat the Tuner Champ. World's Strongest - Beat the Muscle Champ. Retire the Master - Beat the City Champ. ... finally... The Completist! - Unlock the Platinum trophy by unlocking all other trophies. Complete and obtain all the previous trophies. Not obtainable now a days because of the server shut down. Congratutions for those who've obtained this trophy. DLC: South Central Pack The South Central Pack offers these trophies. GOOOOAAAAAALLLLL!!!!! - Finish all South Central Goal Attacks Out of the goal attacks, these races are the most easilest, once you get to know the game and how to deal with how hard it can get. The races are located towards the bottom of the list, marked with the SC lettering next to each of the race names. This can be completed within two hours with an exotic vehicle. That's it. you've obtained all the trophies from the South Central DLC Pack. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- End ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My final thoughts, as of 2018, when servers have shut down, Midnight Club is still worth playing but maybe only as a digital game when you have that, hopefully if Rockstar mades another Midnight Club, they wouldn't suffer from those problems the game has when it is printed onto discs. It has been a while since another Midnight Club game has been ever released. Rumors regarding another game has been reported. I hope that is the case because I would like to see the next time and I hope it doesn't have as many glitches and issues like this game had. Trophies wise, it was nice seeing and taking part off, maybe what I could say all the games features and events linked to a trophy more or less and not going at it alone, it is nice to experience as much of it all. Personally I did like the game, I liked how the garage gets used thoughtout the entire game and having something to do along to obtain the achievements, so it was all good in my opinion. So thank you Rockstar Games for making Midnight Club: Los Angeles but I would really wish that the game could have been powered better from a technical perspective. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Copyright 2018(c) Explored and Written by 91210user -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
