INTRODUCTION |=========== ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯| |¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ O~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~O Welcome to my Puppeteer FAQ/Walkthrough! If you don't know what Puppeteer is, it's a platformer for the Playstation 3, in the style of bunraku, a form of Japanese traditional puppet theatre. One of the first things players will notice is that the game looks great with its art style and there's also great music. The game is very stylish overall, which is why many people, including myself, have fallen for this game. This guide is intended to bring you from start to finish, while trying to highlight the location of every single head in the game (written in CAPITAL LETTERS). O~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~O ____________| |___________ ============| II. GAMEPLAY |=========== ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯| |¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ O~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~O Puppeteer is a platformer with two main mechanics that sets it apart from others. The first is the head mechanic, with the other revolving around Calibrus. Since Kutaro loses his actual head in the beginning of the game, he must resort to using heads he finds throughout the game. These function as his health bar, with Kutaro being able to hold up to three heads at one time. Whenever Kutaro is hit by an enemy or gets damaged from a hazard, the head he is wearing falls off. He only has 5 seconds to collect it again before it disappears. Should Kutaro lose all three heads, he will lose a life and have to restart from the last checkpoint. Kutaro can gain extra lives by collecting Moonsparkles, little yellow gems scattered throughout the levels; for every 100 he collects, he gains one extra life. The other game mechanic revolves around the Calibrus, a magical pair of scissors that Kutaro gains in the first level of the game. This is the main, and only, weapon Kutaro can use during the course of the game. In addition to acting as a normal weapon against enemies, it can also be used as a means of platforming, as it can be used to cut your way through pieces to reach other platforms. O~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~O ____________| |___________ ============| III. STOLEN AWAY |=========== ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯| |¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ O~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~O .====================. ====================| Act 1, Curtain 1 | (A101) '====================' When you finally gain control of Kutaro, you will be given a tutorial of sorts, showing you how to move your character and search for hidden items using the secondary character. You'll gain your first head here, the {SKULL HEAD}, by searching the iron maiden on the right side of the screen, as well as your second, the {SPIDER HEAD}. On the second screen, you're taught about Moonsparkles, which are little yellow gems that can be collected. With 100 of them, you will gain an extra life. You're also shown about the actions you can perform with your heads. Throughout the levels, you'll see a head's symbol flashing in the background. If you have the correct head on you, switch to it and press down on the directional pad to perform the action to unlock something, or in this case, get a lot of Moonsparkles. You're now in full control of Kutaro, so move to the right, picking up your head after the Witch's fork knocks it loose, and jumping into the gateway, which will bring you to the next screen. Keep going until you come to a screen with a pan, making sure you don't stand on it when it is searing hot. You'll find another new head, the {HAMBURGER HEAD}, on the next screen, as well as its head action. The next two screens have pots that blow their lids into the air, so use that to reach all of the Moonsparkles, as well as the gateway to progress. Note that the middle pot on the second of these screens has a bomb symbol on it, meaning you'll have to come back here after getting a certain head later on in the game. When you reach the screen with the slanted tables, watch out for the rolling food as you reach the next gateway. You'll eventually reach the room with Ezma Potts, who will now send you on your next errand. .------------------------. ======| Tower of Tribulation | '------------------------' After exiting from the Witch's room, you'll be in a spiral staircase. Investigate the armor right ahead to grab the {BAT HEAD}, then continue onward. Rats and bats will appear throughout and charge at you, so jump over them when they get too close. You will notice paintings on the wall as you move through the staircase; make sure you investigate them all (they will drop Moonsparkles when you do). There are other obstacles in the way, such as spiders, who stay in place and move up and down on their web. When you reach a certain spot, a giant ball will come tumbling towards you, so crouch behind the stone right there to avoid being hit. There will also be spiked barrels, which can be jumped over. If you still have the Spider Head, the action for it will be at the giant web before the big painting. Also, if you hit all other paintings as you ascended, the big painting will drop the {BANANA HEAD} for you. There will be a cutscene once you reach the throne room, where you will get Calibrus. You've set off a trap, so you will need to use the scissors to cut through the web-like substance. Note that as long as you keep pressing Square and have something to cut, you can stay in mid-air for as long as possible. When you get to the one with the lock, investigate it to get the {LOCK HEAD}, then do the same as the previous screens. The Moon Bear King is mighty angry that someone has stolen his scissors and sics some Grubs on you. Keep attacking them with the Calibrus until a balloon appears once they are on the ground, which means you can cut the balloon to free the soul trapped inside. With them all gone, you get to fight a mini-boss called a Weaver. Jump over its flaming attack when it sweeps across the ground, then cut the carpet all the way across. Do this again until it fall to the ground and all kinds of balloons appear. This is your cue to cut them all to finish off the Weaver, which will net you the {CROWN HEAD}. You have finished the first level and will be brought to the stage selection screen, where the second level is now unlocked. .====================. ====================| Act 1, Curtain 2 | (A102) '====================' Use the leaves on the vines to cut your way through the first two screens and when you get to the third one, there's a ledge underneath the vine. If you have the Skull Head, there's an action here you can perform to unlock a spinning wheel that will either stop on death, Moonsparkles or an extra head. The fourth room has some Grubs to take out and then the leaves will slowly change colors, disappearing after a few seconds have passed. This means you will need to be quick to get to the top. The next screen will have an obstacle in the way, which can be removed by rapidly pressing Square once you start cutting it. This will cause the leaves, which deteriorate like before, to create a path to the next area. Keep doing this to get all the way to the top, where you'll find the gateway to the next screen. Here, you will see a seam and you will need to mash the Square button to keep cutting and move long that seam. When you reach the end, take out the Grubs and then there will be another seam cut. Do the same as before, noting there's vines in the way, and you'll reach another platform with more Grubs and yet another seam cut. This one will be slightly different, as there are more than one path, so choose the correct one with the left analog stick. Bounce on the springs and cut around the symbol in the middle to free it, making a ton of bats appear. Use these and Calibrus to get to the top, noting there's a vine with a head symbol that you can't use yet. On the next screen, the Weaver will tilt the platform, allowing you to reach the seam cut. Use this, as well as the rest, to get to the next gateway, with the next room being more of the same. At the start of the next screen, you will see a symbol for the Bat Head, so use its action if you have it. This screen is nothing more than a series of seam cuts, with some trampolines mixed in between them. There are some varying paths near the end, some of which will lead to Grubs, but it's not possible to get them all on one run. .----------------. ======| Horse Weaver | '----------------' After finishing the previous screen, you will now have to fight the Weaver that's been harassing you throughout the level. It has the same attacks as the first Weaver at first (a sweeping fire axe), which you can dodge by simply crouching. Once it does it a few times, it will crash its head into the ground and become stuck. This is your chance to use trampoline to the side and then seam cut to the tapestry of the Weaver. Cut down to the armor, which will expose a weak point on the Weaver. Cut your way to the top and keep attacking the weak point to knock off the armor. The Weaver gains a new attack after this, where it will do overhead smashes to the ground; simply roll or keep moving to avoid it. Do the same thing twice more as before to expose the final weak point, which when destroyed, will let you get up into the air and free all of the souls to defeat the Weaver for good. Your reward is the IRON BALL HEAD, as well as finished the level. .====================. ====================| Act 1, Curtain 3 | (A103) '====================' At the start of the level, free the Knight's shield from the webbing to gain access to its powers. Note that you will always have access to the Knight's powers, which is mapped to the L1 button. The Witch will appear and give you a tutorial on how to use its powers, which can block attacks, as well as reflect projectiles. You can only block so many times before the shield gives out, after which you will need to let it rest a few seconds to allow it to recharge. Use the gateway to get to the next screen, where you'll have to face off with the Moon Bear King's overgrown Guillotine. Before doing anything, use Ying Yang to steal the {WYNKEN HEAD} from the red-headed puppet. Reflect the projectile with the Knight's shield back at the eye of the Guillotine to damage it. After hitting it twice, it will throw out some saw blades at you before firing another projectile. Defeating the Guillotine will net you the {GUILLOTINE HEAD}. The next screen has you fighting the Moon Bear King's security system, which is just more reflecting projectiles, although you need to hit the outer spots first before you get a chance at the main one at the top. Note that after disabling the system, you can use the Lock Head's action to gain access to the bonus stage for this level (where you can use the Tiger Head's action inside of the bonus stage). Wait until General Tiger sics some Grubs on you, then defeat them and block the Tiger's attack with the shield. This will trigger a short QTE that will send you to the next screen. The screen rotates, so head to the right to find a beam- shooting plant. Reflect the projectile to defeat it, then use the leaves to reach the second level. Go to the left, avoiding the spotlights (they summon saws if they catch you), then do the same thing with the second plant. On the third level, the spotlight area has the head action for the Guillotine Head, then go right to defeat a third plant so you can reach the cage with the Sun Princess. However, it takes off before you can rescue her, so go up, noting that some the platforms will fall after standing on them. You'll eventually reach the cage, which is guarded by two plants that shoot beams. Note that using the Crown Head here, should you have it, will net you the {PIKARINA HEAD}. It might be a bit tricky with two plants, but reflect the beams back when you see an opportunity. With both plants gone, you can finally reach the cage and set the princess free, who is named Pikarina. .-----------------------. ======| BOSS: General Tiger | '-----------------------' The fight with General Tiger will utilize the Knight's shield to its fullest. Before you fight him, use Ying Yang on his nose three times to get the TIGER HEAD. Tiger will open the battle by conducting lightning with his one paw and then smashing it on the ground, sending out an electric shockwave. This can be jumped over, but as soon as he does the previous move, he will swipe across the screen with his other paw. The idea is to jump over the electricity then land and put up the Knight's shield to stop Tiger's paw from hitting you. After successfully stopping the swipe once, he'll bite the ground in two random spots and then go back to the above attacks. Successfully stop it one more time and you'll initiate a QTE sequence that will remove the non-Moonstone tooth. Fail the QTE and Tiger will spit out spiked hairballs from his mouth and then go back to the above attacks. The second phase of the battle has Tiger using his tail, which has a spiked ball at the end. This attack is the same as his pound move, complete with the electricity, but it can hit the ground anywhere. He'll pound the ground twice, then swipe with his paw from the right side of the screen, so make sure you get that shield up. Do the above sequence again to start another QTE with this paw, which will end with the Moonstone tooth being cut off. This will place Tiger in a dazed state, where you will be able to set off another QTE chain that will result in his defeat. You've finished the first act and can now move onto the second. O~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~O ____________| |___________ ============| IV. WHO TO TRUST |=========== ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯| |¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ O~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~O .====================. ====================| Act 2, Curtain 1 | (B101) '====================' After the lengthy introduction, head to the right (ignore the bomb symbol on the wall to your left), crossing the bamboo until you get to a short scene with General Rat. He throws something onto the bamboo, transforming it into something evil. It now has fangs, and they move up and down together to try and crush you. When they go up, hurry up and move to the left, hiding in the small alcove before they come back down. Continue going until you have to use Calibrus to get past another section of them. As you keep going, you'll eventually reach some bounce pads, so use them (being mindful of the platforms with the spikes) until you are presented with a choice of going left or right. Going left will have a giant caterpillar appear out of one of the bamboo shoots; hit it with Pikarina to grab the CATERPILLAR HEAD. Use the leaves to reach the gateway from the last bounce pad. In this screen, you should see some koi banners in the background, but the blue ones are important. The panda, on the other hand, is important and you should use Pikarina on it to make it go away. Keep moving to the right, making note of the panda again near the bud (have Pikarina hit it again). There will be a red koi banner near the second bud, which will give you the KOI-NOBORI HEAD. Yet again, you will see the panda a third time above a Grub, so hit it again to get the PANDA HEAD. The Panda Head action will be right where the giant panda is located and just past that will be your first encounter with the transformed carp, who have spikes all over their body. They will be jumping into the air, with a few of them also jumping onto the platforms, so be careful. When you get to the big stream of leaves, use that to get to the next screen. You're now on a bridge with a big waterfall behind you, so use the leaves to start climbing. When you get to the bouncing bonsai trees, watch out for the fish from behind the waterfall, as they can harm you when they come out. There will be a huge shadow at the next spot, which is a huge fish, so when it subsides, move past it. At the second spot, you can use the Koi-Nobori Head action to gain access to a bonus stage. The next screen places you right in front of a giant cherry blossom tree, which General Rat will transform into something evil. If you have the Caterpillar Head, you can use its action at the bottom to summon a caterpillar that will turn into a butterfly. This butterfly will bring you to the top of the tree (which you would have to scale normally), where you can hit the bud to return the tree to normal. Back at the bottom, the CHERRY BLOSSOM HEAD will appear. You'll be transported to a cave, where you will see a scroll sitting on a rock. Have Pikarina hit it and then use Calibrus to free it from its confines, earning you the second of the Hero Heads, the NINJA HEAD. This allows you to throw bombs and you will have to go through a tutorial with Ezma Potts, who will show up after grabbing it. .---------------------. ======| Lantern Mini-Boss | '---------------------' After finishing the tutorial with the Witch, you are thrown in front of a gate and will have to fight a mini-boss. You will see all sorts of drums on the bottom of the screen and the Lantern will slam its bottom half to the ground three times. Now, right before it does it the third time, one of the drums will turn golden and that's your cue to lay down a bomb on that drum before it attacks it, which will launch it into the air. Use the smoke to get up to its weak spot and attack it. The second phase is similar to the first, except some of the drums are missing and there will be fire in their places. The right-most drum will be the golden one, but it won't turn that color until the fifth attack, so time your bomb drop until then. The third phase has the drums disappearing when the Lantern attacks them, with the last one reappearing as the golden one. With the Lantern defeated, it will transform into a full on Weaver, looking like a samurai helmet with two spiked clubs as weapons. You should jump on each drum as they appear, laying a bomb on the golden one, which will spring up and smack the Weaver. Use the scissors to get up into the air and cut the cloth connecting the boss. Do this two more times, which will drop the boss onto the ground, where you can free the souls to finally defeat it and earn the TAIKO DRUM HEAD. .====================. ====================| Act 2, Curtain 2 | (B102) '====================' At the very beginning of the stage, have Pikarina investigate the big mushroom to get the MUSHROOM HEAD. You'll notice piles of sludge as you progress through the stage, which are marked with the bomb symbol, so that means hit it with a bomb to destroy them. The first screen is pretty straightforward and there isn't anything else hidden. When you get to the second screen, you'll see the Kappagaeru mother going crazy and you'll automatically get the KAPPAGAERU SPROG HEAD. Once the lily pad gets close, jump onto it and then cut your way across the cattails. You'll see two Grubs here, as well as one in the background (use Pikarina to hit the boy on the right). The rest of the way to the gateway is easy. You'll see a fish with the bomb symbol on it, so toss one in its mouth when it's open to make it spit up water that you can cut to cross. There will be another enemy here, who opens its mouth, so toss a bomb into it to get rid of it. Remove the sludge and use the spring and flower petals to continue to another fish. When you get to the big drum, use the Taiko Drum Head (if you have it) to get sent to a bonus stage. There will be more sludge, so bomb it and use the flowers to reach the gateway. Make sure you wait for the second lily pad to move all the way to the left, jumping on it to make sure you don't sink, until you can jump onto the platform. Quickly cut your way across the cattails and if you have the Jizo Statue Head, use it on the statue to get some Moonsparkles. The rest of the way to the gateway should pose no problems. The next screen will have a big glob of sludge here, which reveals some green webbing and two spitting fish. While you can bomb the fish, they will get stuck to the webbing and can still hurt you. There will be another part with the webbing and spitting fish after this, then you will have to be careful of the falling rock in the cave. If you have the Lantern Head on you, use its action past the enemy. .---------------------. ======| Kappagaeru Mother | '---------------------' The mini-boss fight with the Kappagaeru Mother is fairly easy. There are two platforms on either side, with some of the green webbing from before in the air. Kappagaeru only really has two attacks, one of which involves using her tongue from across the screen. The other has her spitting three times while moving across the screen. To damage her, you will need to drop a bomb on her head whenever she stops, with the perfect opportunity being after she stops attacking. Once she does and you hit her with the bomb, she will be exposed for another bomb, this one actually damaging her. There's nothing new after her taking damage, so do this three times to finish the battle. .---------------------. =======| Finding the Trees | '---------------------' Right away, you'll be able to perform the Mushroom Head action if you have it. Continue to the right, clearing the sludge and using the spring to get above. Now, there will be spots of sludge that will continually drip from the ceiling and while you can clear the floor, it will continue dripping, so jump over when it's clear. You also have to watch out for the squirrels running around, as they can harm you. Once you get past the two lines of dripping sludge, shake the bundles of leaves with Pikarina to make some loose leaves appear. Use these to get to the branch above, where you can hit three squirrels in the holes to get the ACORN HEAD. As you pass the two big piles of sludge, the rope beneath you will start to fall apart, so keep rolling to the right until you're safe. For the next part, you will need to stand on the platform, then throw a bomb at the sludge. After it's gone, throw another bomb into the hole, which should roll down below and launch you to the next platform, where you will need to do the same thing. You'll eventually come to some vertically stacked mushroom springs, but there's a large hole to the right of them with a large squirrel; you can use the Acorn Head action here. Use the springs and leaves to get to the top, where you will now be fighting General Rat. .---------------------. ======| BOSS: General Rat | '---------------------' The battle with General Rat takes place with the two trees you need to rescue in the background, both of whom are covered with spots of sludge. Ignore Rat for now and hit the sludge pieces you can reach with bombs. Rat will be flying around and dropping pieces of sludge along the ground, which you can remove with bombs. You will notice that the ground is split into two pieces when the battle begins, but it will come together when Rat is about to change his attack. He will fly in the foreground to the other side of the screen, then swoop down back across. This is your chance to either leave a bomb in his path, or trip him up with the Knight's shield, leaving him vulnerable for a bomb. You should likely see the icon for using the Cherry Tree Head during the battle, so use it to get the CEDAR COUPLE HEAD. Doing so will make leaves appear, that you can use to reach a platform, where you can hit the rest of the sludge on the trees. Once all of them are gone, Rat will hover in the air and spew flames from his jetpack. Use the leaves to get above Rat and drop a bomb onto him, not once, but twice. This will make him emit smoke that you can use to reach him and finally finish him off. Note that when he's on the ground after this, hit him with Pikarina to get the RAT HEAD. .====================. ====================| Act 2, Curtain 3 | (B103) '====================' The entirety of this stage takes place on the back of General Snake, which is segmented, meaning there are gaps between the pieces, so be careful not to fall into those. Just go to the right and anytime you see the bomb symbol, use the bomb to be able to continue. Stand on the green thing to open up the vent, then toss a bomb inside to launch yourself upwards to some clouds, which can be used to get to the right. Be careful of the poisonous spikes that come out when you slide down, where you'll find another switch/vent thing that launchers you to some a long series of clouds. If you still have the Rat Head, you'll find the spot where you can use its action at the next switch/vent thing, which will net you the MUMMY HEAD. Keep going until you see a bomb symbol below some spikes, which will launch that section of Snake to allow you to bypass the spikes. When you are blocked in by Snake's body on the left, you should see the Mummy Head icon flashing in the bottom left, so use its action to get to the bonus stage. After being transported to the next section, you should see the icon for using the Cedar Couple Head, so use it to get some extra Moonsparkles. Eventually, you'll come upon a seam cut where there is something in your path, you must jump it, as this will hurt you. Sliding down Snake's body continuously will get you swallowed by him, where you'll meet up with General Rat once again. Pikarina decides to use him as a flotation device to get through Snake's body, which is set up as an auto- scrolling area. All you really need to do is jump over spikes and gaps until you get to the end, where you will go through a series of seam cuts, including the jumps, and get out of Snake's body. Hit Snake with Pikarina while he's down to get the SNAKE HEAD, then you will go through some QTEs to finish off Snake for good. O~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~O ____________| |___________ ============| V. ALL THAT GLITTERS |=========== ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯| |¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ O~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~O .====================. ====================| Act 3, Curtain 1 | (C101) '====================' Begin the stage by going to the left and bombing the barrel to free Captain Gaff, then hitting the hook with Pikarina to get the PIRATE'S HEAD, which is one of the Moon Heroes. You use Triangle to basically grab enemies, as well as anything with a hook on it. Go through the tutorial with the Witch, then go through the gateway. You will find three paintings of ships in the following rooms, so use Pikarina on them all to get the JOLLY LAMBHAM HEAD. Here, use the hook on the chest straight across, then you can get the one in the upper left, which has Moonsparkles. Grab the next hook to drop some barrels to allow you to get across. For the next screen, you need to hook the one above you to make a platform appear, which you can hook to make it swing. Hook the next platform and then jump on it while the first is swinging to get to the gateway. You're now in a room with a giant cannon. Use the hook above to make the cannon fire, then use the smoke to get to the other side of the room. If you hit the other two paintings, the third one is here for the Jolly Lambham Head. Use the hook on the right side of the cannon to make it shoot straight up, then watch the ensuing cutscene. Go right, using the cannon's smoke to cross, then use the hooks and clothing to keep moving to the right. When you get to the end, use the hook on the cannon to blast General Pig away. You're now inside the ship again, so use the hook on the platforms to continue on, making sure you use R2 on each blowfish you come across in this section. Just pass the first blowfish will be some fishing lures on the wall, so use R2 on them to find the FISHING ROD HEAD. When you come across a broken bottle, use the Jolly Lambham Head's action to access a bonus stage. Pass the two blowfish will be a chest that won't open with R2 unless you hit every blowfish along the way, with it housing the BLOWFISH HEAD. When you get above deck again, use the cannon to blast away General Sheep this time. The next section will have waves that will come crashing down on the ship, which will harm you if they hit. Some are slow, while others are quick, meaning you will have to use other methods to get past them, such as ducking behind debris or using bird feathers to go above them. When you see the fishing rod in the distance, use the Fishing Rod Head's action to grab the SHARK HEAD. There will be two cannons for the Generals at the end. Once you finally regain control, use R2 on the sword stuck in the mast to get the SWORD HEAD, then use the hooks to make flags appear, allowing you to cut your way up to the gateway. On the next screen, be careful of the swinging blades while trying to use the hooks to get to the next gateway. For this screen, you have to tilt the platforms in your way to get to the hooks and jump to the next platform and then to the top with the gateway. You'll see the Generals in barrels here, with a Sword Head icon flashing for both, allowing you to use its action to gain some Moonsparkles. Keep going up to get to the portal, with the next two screens having you dodge the fire on the flags while cutting your way to the end. Hook the chest at the end of the second screen to make the next gateway appear. If you hit the gong, a genie shows up and allows you to pick between some random heads or Moonsparkles. .-----------------. ======| Pirate Weaver | '-----------------' The Weaver begins by throwing its sword that will sweep across the ground from the right, so either jump over it or guard using the shield. It will then shoot a beam from its eye, so reflect it back until it gets hit, after which you can use the hook to bring it down. Use the tapestry to go up, where you'll be on a ledge that's chained to the Weaver. Up here, it will throw the sword from the left once and then one more time from the right. After that, its weak point will be exposed, so cut it all the way across to damage it and you'll fall all the way back down. It will attack the ground with its sword, so either roll when it takes a small break or use the shield. Once again, it will fire the laser, so reflect it back and do the same thing to damage it again. For the third round, it will throw the sword like the first time, then toss the sword into the ground. This will make its way across the arena, but you can stop it by using the hook on top of the sword. Reflect the eye beam back and attack it the third time up top like before to make the soul balloons appear. Get them all and you'll finish off the Weaver, as well as gain the TREASURE CHEST HEAD. .====================. ====================| Act 3, Curtain 2 | (C102) '====================' Under the sea! Under the sea! Singing aside, you are now underwater and the first part of this level is similar to the one where you were riding General Rat inside of General Snake. When the stage begins, use R2 on both the God of the Sea and the squids to get the SUSHI and SQUID HEADS, respectively. Note that it's important you try and keep the Sushi Head for the Weaver boss fight at the end of this level, as it makes things a lot easier. When you're ready, jump on the squid and get riding. Unlike the sequence with Rat, there will be plenty of obstacles in the way, including sea urchins you have to crouch under and jellyfish that function as trampolines. The yellow- colored shrimp function as a speed boost, some of which are needed, so don't pass them up. It doesn't matter which direction you go at the first seam cut, so just continue going until you hit the second screen. Things start getting a little more challenging here, with anglerfish being thrown in, which you must jump over when you get close (they'll jump up and attack). When you see crabs, do not jump and just keep going normally and take the upper path at the seam cut. The three jellyfish can be hit with R2 and give up the JELLYFISH HEAD for Kutaro. At the start of the third screen, you can use the Shark Head's action if you still have the head, giving you a chance to bypass some of the beginning sections. Otherwise, you will have a giant anglerfish chasing after you, shooting little ones at you that you will need to jump over. When you get to a piece of ship, there will be an icon there to use the Squid Head's action, which will remove the giant anglerfish from the scene. You'll get thrown into the fight with the Kraken Weaver. .-----------------. ======| Kraken Weaver | '-----------------' The fight with the Kraken Weaver has multiple stages and he's certainly large. He knocks you down into a pit below, with some anglerfish and other enemies and hazards. Bomb the clam shell to make some bubbles appear, which you can use to get to the platforms above, where you can kill the Grubs and then bomb the mines. This will get you to the Kraken tentacle and attack it. Attacking the tentacle will launch Kutaro into a QTE that will take out one of the three hits needed to down the Kraken. He'll try to suck you in and if he catches you, mash X to get away. Find the tentacle with the hook on it, then use the Pirate's Head to get toss downed into another pit. Use the anemone to get to the trampolines and then to the next tentacle to cut, launching the second QTE in the battle. Note that during the ascent in the second pit, you likely saw an icon to use the Sushi Head, which will replace all the hazards with pieces of food. This holds true for the third pit as well, making it a lot easier to get past them all. He'll launch some urching that roll around the screen, some on floor level and some in glasses; jump over the ones on the ground and go underneath the others. Once again, take out the Grubs and then find the tentacle with the hook on it. Avoid the hazards in the first section of the third pit, then use the smoke left behind by the bombs to reach an anemone that will launch you to the tentacle. The final QTE will start that will finish off the Kraken, as well as get you the OCTOPUS HEAD. .====================. ====================| Act 3, Curtain 3 | (C103) '====================' You first get a tutorial on how to use your new powers with the Calibrus. Basically, whenever you see the Calibrus change colors after the first cut, you can time the next cut to make Kutaro go faster and further than with a normal cut. You'll automatically get the SUBMARINE HEAD during the tutorial. Use that knowledge to practice it after going into the gateway, where you will need to cut all of the purple webbing to continue the stage. On the next screen, use the Submarine Head's action to get transported to the bonus stage. The next screen is where you need your new powers with the Calibrus, as there's more sticky purple webbing, as well as little pillars of fire that shoot from the ground. You can't land where the fire comes from, as it's too hot, meaning you'll have to quickly make your way across without touching the ground. In addition to the fire, a giant saw blade will appear and chase you on the next screen. When you get to the engine, cut the smoke in the order shown to finally make your way out of the Generals' Moby sub. Captain Gaff talks about how the island is nigh impenetrable, except for one way, which involves blasting you out of his big cannon. You should see some crabs on the wall to the left of your starting point. Keep hitting them with Pikarina until you get the CRAB HEAD. Watch out for the spiked barrels coming out of the wall, which are actually being thrown by Grubs (hit the wall to the left of the first barrel to uncover them). Use bombs to make platforms appear, which alternate between a safe spot and one covered in spikes, then head inside the "secret pirate base." It's pitch dark in here, so go to the right until you can toss a bomb at the switch. Use the hook that appears to raise the platforms, but watch out for the electricified sparks. Outside again, you can use the Octopus Head's action to cover some gaps and allow you to spring up to some Moonsparkles. There will be more spiked barrels, but you can stop them like before. Use the hook to make the cannon make some smoke appear, allowing you to get to the second base. Make the light turn on like before, then toss a bomb into the opening when it's on your side, allowing you to go up. Yet another electric trap appears, this one a rotating one with openings that allow you to go through. There will be a rolling barrel being constantly thrown, along with a ramp that gives them some bounce, so be careful. Note the Blowfish Head icon here, which will make one appear and actually stop the barrels from spawning anymore. Keep going now until you reach the third base, which will start the boss fight with the two Generals. .-------------------------------------. ======| BOSS: General Pig & General Sheep | '-------------------------------------' The first part of this fight has you against Robocrab and if you use the Crab Head's action here, a real one will show up and completely obliterate the boss' legs, leading you to the second part. However, if you don't have it, you'll have to put through with the actual fight. It will move around with one leg and then stab the ground with one of its claws. Your goal here is to grab the hook on the right leg and keep pulling to expose a weak spot. Cut this until the leg falls off, then do the same with the left leg. This will expose some wires that you can cut and make the boss abandon its legs, entering flight mode and the second stage. At first, the boss will approach from the right side and you should see a bunch of smoke; either use this to get above and not get hit, or use one of the holes in the ground (crouch). After doing this, it will use a tractor beam to try and suck Kutaro up, but the idea is to stay out of it and toss bombs into it. Two bombs will initiate the next part, where you need to use the smoke to reach the Generals while avoiding debris. When you reach them, attack them to split them apart and then do the same on the exposed wires. This will have the Robocrab split in half on the ground, but before you finish them off, hit both General Sheep and General Pig with Pikarina to get the SHEEP HEAD and PIG HEAD, respectively. Once you grab them, hit the Square button to initiate the QTE to end the battle for good. O~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~O ____________| |___________ ============| VI. HIGH NOON |=========== ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯| |¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ O~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~O .====================. ====================| Act 4, Curtain 1 | (D101) '====================' At the beginning of the level, use the hook to make cacti appear, then use them to reach another hook. Grabbing this one will make a boulder fall and show some prairie dogs. Hit R2 on these three times to get the PRAIRIE DOG HEAD. Continue up to the gateway, with the second screen containing more of the same. Use the hooks and bombs to make more cacti appear and when you're at the top, you can use the Prairie Dog Head action. For the next part, keep jumping on the cacti bouncy things until you reach a slightly exposed fossil in the rock wall. Keep hitting R2 to uncover the fossil all the way to get the FOSSIL HEAD. Keep going up to get to the next screen, where you can use the hook to make some sand fall down, so cut your way through this until you come upon the icon for using the Fossil Head action, which will bring you to a bonus stage. After completing it, there's one more bit of sand falling to reach the top. You will get the WRESTLER HEAD, one of the four Heroes, with its ability being able to pull heavy objects or do a Body Slam attack while in mid-air. As was the case with previous powers, you can go through a tutorial that explains the basics of using the Wrestler Head. After finishing up with Ezma Potts and the cutscene that follows, you'll be in a small town. Go inside the building and pull the block on the left with the Wrestler Head, then use R2 on the man with the guitar to get the GUITAR HEAD. Body Slam the table, then use the cards to cut your way onto the roof, where you can do a Big Body Slam to hit some to lock the block from before, allowing you to push the entire building to the right and make the gateway appear. On the next screen, Body Slam the brick block, then push it into the building, allowing you to pull the entire building to the left. This enables you to use your scissors to cut your way up into the air, where you'll find a symbol to do a Big Body Slam onto the jail cell below. This will get you the COWBOY HEAD for saving all of the bears in the cell. Now, push the left buildings to the left and the right one all the way to the right to make the next gateway show up. The building here can't be pushed because of the manhole cover, so pull the hook to make a flag appear. Use this to get onto the roof, where you can do a Big Body Slam to pin the cover down. Push the building all the way to the right (making the arrows blue), and you have two manhole covers now. Body Slam the one floating, which will release some smoke, allowing you to get high enough to do a Big Body slam to keep it down. Do the same with the other and then the gateway to the next screen appears. There's a carriage that got overturned and is blocking the street. Go to the right and pull out the horse feed, then Body Slam it to cause some hay to come out, allowing you to reach the roof. Toss a bomb in the box to the right, creating smoke that will let you go above the carriage and Big Body Slam it. For the horse, go to the left and pull out the coal, where you can reach the next spot to Big Body Slam the horse. It will now move and you can move onto the next screen. .-----------------. ======| Cowboy Weaver | '-----------------' The Weaver has two guns which it attacks with, the first one having the guns follow you while shooting bullets. When the fire grows to look like the Wrestler Head symbol, Body Slam it to make smoke appear. Use this to get far above the Weaver, dodging the reticule, until you can do a Big Body Slam on it. This will expose the cloth, allowing you to cut across it to damage the Weaver. Do this once more and you will expose the souls, so release them all to finish off the Weave for good. You'll get the SIX-SHOOTER HEAD as your reward. .====================. ====================| Act 4, Curtain 2 | (D102) '====================' The first section of this level is done in the style of the seam cut from previous stages, with plenty of obstacles in the way, including rocks, other bikers and even railroad bridges knocked down by General Horse and General Bull. On the second screen, you'll see a sign on your right at the beginning. Hit it with Pikarina and a cow will appear, which is hit by the Generals and a steak appears on the seam cut. Cut through this steak to get the STEAK HEAD. When you see both of them stuck, use the seam cut to get above General Bull and do a Body Slam to hit him. This causes smoke to rise up, so use that to get to the next seam cut. At the beginning of the third screen, you should see the icon to perform the Six-Shooter Head action, which will bring you to a bonus stage. There will be a chance to do a Body Slam on General Horse, then a series of chances for impeding General Bull, finishing off with a Body Slam on him. After one last set of seam cuts, you will do one last Body Slam on General Horse and there will be a cutscene. Pikarina basically sets up a race with the two, with the prize being their Moonstone pieces. General Horse turns into a train, while you get to ride a horse, which makes the beginning part similar to the other side-scrolling races. Obstacles include scorpions, spiked balls, sticks of dynamite and cacti. You'll land on General Horse's back on the train, so go to the right and then do a Body Slam on the striped part to flip it over and go back on your horse. When you land on the train again, you'll see a lion's paw coming out the top. Hit the lock in front with Pikarina to get the LION HEAD. Body Slam the next car, use the seam cut to get over the elephant, then there's another car to Body Slam. Finish the last leg on the horse to go to the next screen. The next time you land on the train, be careful with standing on tall pieces, as spikes will appear on the ceiling (you'll hear a warning bell). After the giraffe will be another car you can Body Slam, and then you'll be back on your horse. There will be a lot of obstacles and hazards in this section, so keep an eye out until you get back on the train. There is a seam cut section, where you have to jump over boulders and then do a Big Body Slam onto the train car. You'll land inside the car and be confronted with some Grubs. Continue right to yet another seam cut sequence, with a final Body Slam onto another train car, essentially stopping General Horse in her tracks. You'll get back on your horse and with a final push, win the race and earn the LOCOMOTIVE HEAD. .-----------------------. ======| BOSS: General Horse | '-----------------------'
The fight with General Horse begins, and although General Bull is there, he
doesn't do anything. The goal is to get behind Horse and to keep moving, as most
of the attacks will be directed towards the front of her. Her first attack is
shooting flames and then will follow up with missiles. When you do get behind
her, slam the ground with the Wrestler Head (it's marked with that head), making
some smoke appear. Note that if you hit Bull on the back of the train during the
boss fight, you will get the HORSE HEAD.

Use the seam cut to get above Horse's head and then do a Body Slam to damage
her. Now, you'll need to do this two more times, with her using the same
attacks, although it might be difficult to get behind her normally, so wait
until she shoots the missiles. You will have jumps on the second seam cut, and
then alternate directions, which lead to dead ends, on the final one. With the
third Body Slam hitting her, finish the QTE to finally put Horse down for good.

                    .====================.
====================|  Act 4, Curtain 3  | (D103)
                    '===================='

You're in a town on the way to the fight with General Bull, so use the banners
and other decorations to start going upwards, making sure you watch out for the
spiked balls in the way of some paths. When you reach a building you can pull
out with the Wrestler Head, do so and you'll see a lone man in the window
playing a guitar. Use the Guitar Head action to make a band play, after which
you'll get the CASTANETS HEAD.

Keep going up until you reach the next screen, with the second one having you
use the Pirate's hook and Wrestler Head to move houses and bouncy balloons.
Grubs will also appear on the sides to try and damage you. After pulling out the
second piece of building, there will be an icon for using the Horse Head action.
When you get to the balloon dispenser, use the hook on it and then use the
balloons, both paper and bouncy, to reach the gateway.

There's a gong at the beginning of this screen where you can use the Lion Head
action, bringing you to a bonus stage. Go to the left and break the box with the
Wrestler Head, then use the hook to release some balloons. Use them to get to
another platform, pushing it in and then rolling left before you get crushed.
This will allow you to reach high enough to do a Big Body Slam on the marked
platfrom. Up above, pull the next building to the left and cut your way to the
next spot.

There's another box here with the Wrestler mark on it, which has another hook
that will reveal balloons. Once you reach the top, there's the icon for the
Locomotive Head action, which will just give you a bunch of Moonsparkles. Pound
the ground to the left of the gateway, which launches the house up, allowing you
to roll underneath to the gateway.

Be mindful to not stand on the awnings in the next section too long, as they
will collapse and send you sliding down. Knowing that, you'll have to be a
little quick on each one, as you have to pull the hook to make the fan blow the
next set of balloons across. Once you reach the platform with the Wrestler mark,
do the same as on the screen before with the gateway.

Push the piece of building to the left, rolling out of the way before you get
crushed, then toss a bomb into the window to make some smoke appear. Keep going
until you reach some kids trying to get a pinata. Push the building on the left
to lower it, then either cut it or throw bombs at it to make it break. This will
make a seam cutting sequence appear, so do that to reach the top, making sure
you avoid the alternate paths.

Throw bombs into the stacks, allowing you to reach the top of the water tower,
where you need to throw another bomb into the rocket. This will make it launch,
and you will need to follow it with the smoke. It will keep going around in
circles, so catch up to it and keep cutting it to move on and automatically get
the ROCKET HEAD.

      .----------------------.
======|  BOSS: General Bull  |
      '----------------------'

The fight with General Bull takes place in the coliseum, with various tires
placed around the arena. These make Kutaro bounce into the air, where he'll find
flags he can use to stay up there, but don't go too high to avoid the spiked
ceiling. At first, Bull will stay in the center and then charge into the
foreground to where you are. If you don't do what you need to do to damage him,
he'll keep charging around before going back into the center and launching
Kutaro into the spikes above.

When he charges into your plane, lead him around and pound the ground in between
the tires to make some walls appear. Do it while Bull is fairly close and he
will get stuck in the wall, allowing you to use the smoke an flags above to get
high ground to do a Big Body Slam on his back. You can use the normal Body Slam,
but it takes twice as many hits to knock him out.

Bull will still use the same attacks throughout the fight, but the arena will
change according to how much damage he has taken. Spikes will appear in between
some tires, and pieces of the ground will go missing, being replaced by a lava
floor. When it's down to the last damage, all but one set of tires will have
spikes. Hit him with Pikarina before you initiate the QTE to get the BULL HEAD,
then finish the QTE to end the fight.

                    .====================.
====================|  Act 5, Curtain 1  | (E101)
                    '===================='

It's pretty dark at the beginning of the stage, but if you have Pikarina
investigate the pumpkin ahead, you find out you can use a bomb to light it up,
after which it will roll down the hill. You can also use Pikarina to light the
candles as you go down the hill yourself. You should see another large pumpkin
with a star and moon for eyes; hit it with Pikarina to get the PUMPKIN HEAD.

Continuing on, the next pumpkin acts the same way as the first, only this one is
spiked and will leave some in the ground, so jump over them when going down the
hill. The next pumpkin will sprout vegetation, so use it to get to the area
above, where you will find another pumpkin that does nothing. Of course, once
you pass it, the pumpkin will roll after you down the hill, so move quickly to
the bottom and go underneath it when it bounces. Investigate the large piece of
cake to get the CAKE HEAD, then go through the portal.

In the next area, you will encounter some spirits, who will chase after you only
to disappear when you get to light. Bomb the next pumpkin, then jump into its
mouth and out the other side, taking out the Grubs. There will be more ghosts up
ahead, so hurry and use Pikarina on the pumpkin past them, then use a bomb to
light it up, making them disappear.

Use the candy on the vines to continue all the way to another dark pumpkin and
more ghosts. Do the same as before, then defeat the Grubs inside the hollowed
pumpkin, where you can use the Pumpkin Head action to get sent to a bonus stage.
Go to the left and this pumpkin will require you to slam it after lighting it,
then you can push it to the left to get rid of the ghosts. After the scarecrow
is done talking, use Pikarina on him to get the GHOST HEAD (you can use its
action right after, too).

For the next area where there aren't pumpkins, you need to go right when the
fireflies light the candles, letting you slip by the ghosts (you can also use
Pikarina to light them). After the second sprouting pumpkin, you can use the
Cake Head's action to get a bunch of Moonsparkles. Go past the two swinging
pumpkins, and to a giant one at the end, where you'll need to cut something
loose to gain access to the boss fight.

      .---------------------.
======|  BOSS: General Dog  |
      '---------------------'

While talking with General Dog, hit the three pieces of candy to net yourself
the CANDY HEAD, then the fight will eventually start. His attack pattern starts
with him smacking the ground with one paw, sending a "shockwave" of sorts that
needs to be jumped, and then doing the same with the other paw. He'll then swipe
across the screen with one paw, which you can block with the Knight's shield. If
he hits you, he'll do the same with the other paw.

You DO need to block the swipe with the shield, after which he will try to bite
you and then go back to the above pattern. Once you block the paws twice (it can
be once each), two pumpkins will appear, so throw a bomb at one to make some
candy appear. Cut your way to the top of the screen and release the bone,
revealing Dog's weak spot that can be hit with a big slam. If you fall to the
ground, use the other pumpkin to get back up.

After hitting him once, hit his brain with Pikarina to get the BRAIN HEAD. Dog
will go through the same sequence of attacks again, this time adding an extra
ground pound. Do the same thing with blocking the paws with your shield, then
release the bone to expose his weak point. Do the Body Slam from high up to
knock Dog unconscious, then initiate and finish the QTE to put an end to him.

                    .====================.
====================|  Act 5, Curtain 2  | (E102)
                    '===================='

This level is a bit different than previous ones, as you are in control of a boy
that has eaten a little bit too much. Basically, you press Square to roll
forward and if you keep pressing it, you will move faster. There will be
obstacles in the way, such as fire and gaps, but blockades like the skulls,
stone and Grubs need not be avoided. Once you bust through the gate at the end,
you'll get the CANDY HOUSE HEAD and can move onto the next area.

As soon as you start moving, a giant pumpkin monster will show up and begin
filling the area with creamy filling. That means you need to move fast and
always need to look ahead, as there will be instances where you need to use the
hook to move, as well as spots you need to cut away cream to either expose a
platform for you to jump on or slam with your Wrestler Head.

When you get to the second of the three platforms in a row he creams, you can go
to a bonus stage if you use the Candy House Head's action. Past the first
guillotine, you can get the BLYNKEN HEAD if you use Pikarina on the pillar
before passing underneath the second guillotine. During the "cream-alanche,"
hitting the third house with Pikarina will net you the NOD HEAD.

      .-----------------.
======|  Giant Pumpkin  |
      '-----------------'

You're now fighting the giant pumpkin monster, inside of its mouth. You will see
an icon for the Candy Head action right away, so use it if you have it.
Otherwise, the boss' only attack is to protrude spikes from its teeth and try
and smash you; you can avoid this by going in the space between the spikes. To
do damage to this boss, you need to sever the webbing in place, which will
reveal a hole for you to place a bomb.

Now, the same rising cream during the chase sequence before is prevalent here,
but it's a little slow. That means you can't take all the time you want during
this boss. When you place the bomb in the hole, you'll be transported to inside
his mouth, where you need to run the opposite direction from its closing teeth.
There will be two pumpkins inside, a little one that you can jump over and a
larger one that you can run under.

You should see a block, which are cavities, with the Wrestler Head icon on it.
Pound the smaller ones to get replacement heads should you need it, and the
larger ones will damage the monster. You will need to repeat the overall
sequence two more times, with there being one extra bomb to place each time (up
to three bombs the final time). You'll automatically get the NEBULA HEAD upon
the monster's defeat.

                    .====================.
====================|  Act 5, Curtain 3  | (E103)
                    '===================='

A few of the heads here in this level require you to hit a few things with
Pikarina. For example, there are three owls in trees in the stage needed to get
the Owl Head, with the first one being to the left of where you begin. Pound the
ground at the Wrestler symbol to go underground, being careful of the
continually spawning hand (you can light the candles with Pikarina), and use the
spring to get up on the other side.

Another of those heads that require multiple items is here, which is the statue
in the background; its eyes will glow red when you have hit it. Open the coffin
using your hook, which releases a ghost. Cut this ghost to make a gateway appear
to the next area. The second statue is right there as soon as you appear, but
you can't open either of the two coffins due to the spider's webs.

To continue, go underground and then left, hitting the big garlic root to get
the GARLIC HEAD. Go above on the left side and use your scissors to cut the
medallion free from the webbing, freeing the left coffin. You can go back to the
middle and open the coffin, although it doesn't really do anything, so go to the
right side now. You'll find the second owl on the tree to the right, so hit it
and then do the same thing to free the right coffin.

Opening the coffin will make three Grubs appear. Defeat them all to make the
next portal appear. In this area, the third statue and third owl will both be to
you left, which will get you the OWL and DEVIL HEADS (you'll need the Devil Head
to get another head later on in the level). Use the hook on the left to make a
bunch of bats appear, using them to get above the coffin and smashing it with
your Wrestler Head.

This will make a big skeleton appear, with a flat head on top. If you have the
Brain Head, you can use its action here to bypass this mini-fight. Otherwise,
you need to use the bats from the left to get high enough to do a Big Body Slam
on the skeleton's head. Do this three times and you'll be able to progress to
the next area.

The path to the right is blocked by some hands, so go underground and to the
left to find the icon to use the Nod Head. Use the hook to make bats appear,
which you can use to get to the area on the right with a spider's web. Cut the
round thing loose to change the hands from before to springs. You can pound the
coffin there to let loose a vampire, who will rant on about stuff. You can also
use the Garlic Head action to get some Moonsparkles.

Go underground and to the right, surfacing on the right side, where you can use
the Nebula Head action to go to the bonus stage. You can use the Devil Head at
the large statue right here to change it to an angel statue, which you can hit
to get the ANGEL HEAD. Pull open the coffin to the right to make another ghost
appear, except this one can't be cut. Wait until a beam of light appears, then
use the Knight's shield to reflect the light on the ghost until it becomes
vulnerable to cutting.

      .-----------------.
======|  Reaper Weaver  |
      '-----------------'

There are two ways to go about this fight, the normal way and the easy way,
which is achievable with the Angel Head action. For the normal way, you have to
hook the hourglass and keep pressing Triangle while dodging the Reaper's
attacks, which consist of it sweeping the scythe across the screen. You can
still stay hooked while jumping over the scythe, so keep mashing that Triangle
button until the Reaper gets stunned.

This will make a beam of light appear, which you can reflect onto the Reaper
until the cloth becomes visible. Cut all of the emblems off and the Reaper will
take damage. Do this two more times to finish the battle, although note that the
position of the light changes every second or so for the third segment. Cut all
the souls free to finish off the Reaper and automatically get the REAPER HEAD as
your reward.

      .--------------------.
======|  Tower Laboratory  |
      '--------------------'

You're at the front door to General Monkey's lab now, so use Pikarina to hit the
door and then the robot butler, netting you the ROBOT HEAD. Now, use the webbing
to the right to start making your way around the tower, watching out for the
electric pulses at first. There will be spotlights after the first webbing,
which if caught, will open the windows and have robots drop something to try and
hurt you. Right after the first purple web is the chance to use the Robot Head
action. When you see the pillars with the bomb symbol, toss one at it to destroy
it.

When you hit the second pillar, the tower will crumble a level and you can see
the icon to use the Owl Head action. Use the seam cut to start moving around the
tower, making sure to avoid the purple paths that lead to electric barriers. At
the end, the tower will collapse another level, leading you to the third tier.
Use the hook on the switch to disable the electricity from the wires, enabling
you to cut across them.

There will be more purple webbing here, but electric balls will be floating
across that area, so go slow to avoid running into them. Bomb the pillar and you
will have to do another set of switch and then purple webbing with balls. For
the last area, if you go left, you can find an icon for the Blynken Head action,
where you can place a heart and the non-drill arm for the robot to bring you to
the boss entrance. Otherwise, you will have to go through another series of seam
cuts to get there.

      .--------------------------.
======|  BOSS: General Robo-Dog  |
      '--------------------------'

The boss opens up by swinging its tail around, so block it with the Knight's
shield. It'll try to smash you with one or both hands, so use the Wrestler Head
slam to pound the hand and then expose the wires on Robo-Dog's arm. Use these to
reach and cut off the battery on the shoulder. Note that if you get hit with the
tail sweep or fail to block it, then the boss will have both hands on each side
of the screen, sending bolts of electricity that can be jumped over or crouched
under.

Do the same thing again with the tail, but it doesn't try to use his hands for
now. There will be a hook on its head, but you need to use the wires to lure the
boss to rotate its head to make the hook appear on the bottom. Drop down, grab
the hook and quickly mash the Triangle button. Pound the hand on the ground and
cut your way up to remove the other battery.

Now, Robo-Dog will go into the background and fire missiles at you, which are
shown as targets on the ground before landing. When it finishes, cut your way
through the smoke and wires, avoiding the electric balls, until you get above
the boss' head and can do a body slam. The second round of missiles is a little
tougher to dodge because of holes in the ground, but it's the same thing. After
body slamming him the second time, hit the boss with Pikarina to get the DOG
HEAD and then do the QTE to finish Robo-Dog off for good.

                    .====================.
====================|  Act 6, Curtain 1  | (F101)
                    '===================='

Start chasing after General Rabbit and when you see him, use Pikarina to hit his
watch to get the CLOCK HEAD and you should see a big star in the background, so
hit that as well to get the STAR HEAD. Continue chasing after Rabbit, moving
quickly to avoid falling with the houses behind you. Keep going, body slamming
the cards to make some appear that allow you to get across the gap. At the end
will be a lot of cards appearing up to a clock tower, where you can use the
Clock Head action.

On the next screen, slide down the ramp, jumping at the end to a platform that
will collapse to the left. Wait until it does, then jump onto the next one and
then onto more stable ground. You need to wait until the chimney sweeps knock up
some dust for you to cut your way up to a chimney you can throw a bomb into,
causing a big bunch of smoke.

As you approach Rabbit, the roof will collapse and you will slide down, so be
ready to jump to more crumbling platforms. There will be more chimneys here, but
there will also be pipes spewing fire as well. Keep going until you reach a big
chimney sweep, but you just need to toss a bomb into the chimney before. Take
down the two Grubs at the end and then go to the next area.

The second area consists of buildings moving up and down, making you have to go
from building to building. Once you make it out of there, use the seesaw-like
telescopes to eventually get to stars you use to cut your way across to another
set of buildings. After a third set, you'll arrive at an observatory, where you
can use the Star Head action to get to a bonus stage. Cut the big star to move
onto the next area.

You're in an alternate dimension, with everything being constructed of Rabbit's
cards and the sand will gradually fill the entire area. Go to the right and when
you see a bunch of blue cards in the background with a lone red one, hit the red
one with Pikarina for #1. The second one is located in the background when
you're on the wavy set of cards (#2). Make sure you watch out for the Joker
cards, which fall after you stand on them, as well as the cards that spin
around.

When you pass the line of cards that flip consecutively, you'll see some saws
above you and then have to cut across a few cards. Once you do cut through the
few cards, you'll find the third red card in the background (#3). The last stack
of cards is right after taking the elevator up, and hitting it will give you the
PLAYING CARDS HEAD. When you reach the folded cards that act as trampolines,
body slam the marked cards to reach the gateway to the boss.

      .------------------------.
======|  BOSS: General Rabbit  |
      '------------------------'

Rabbit will begin the battle by flipping the cards, which is easily avoided
by simply jumping over them as they flip underneath. This will cause a small
stack of cards to appear with the Wrestler Head mark; slamming this will cause
cards to appear, which you can use to cut your way to an upper level. If you
don't make it in time, Rabbit will "cut" the cards, making stacks fall one after
another, so keep moving.

When you get to the upper level, make sure you watch out for the rats moving
along the floor. Your objective here is to find one of the frayed ropes and cut
it to bring one of the boxes down to stage level. This will make Rabbit do a
"trick" that will end up with him getting damaged. Note that if the box you
bring down has an elephant, hit the elephant with Pikarina to get the ELEPHANT
HEAD.

After getting damaged once, he'll remove some of the cards with daggers and
you'll have to do the above again, causing him to remove more after the second
hit. Note that if you have the Playing Cards Head, you can use it in the upper
level to score a free hit. Before you initiate the QTE after the third hit, hit
Rabbit to get the RABBIT HEAD, then finish the QTE to complete the battle.

                    .====================.
====================|  Act 6, Curtain 2  | (F102)
                    '===================='

Trim the bush at the beginning and hit Mr. Pink with Pikarina to get the TOPIARY
HEAD. Feel free to listen to him if you want, or you can just go through the
maze-like area, using the plants and cutting through the branches. When you get
to the end, use the plants to get to a height to perform a body slam with enough
force to break the hedges, sliding down to a new area.

To the left of where you land is an icon for using the Topiary Head action to
reveal a wheel of fortune. Stay here after it finishes, then hit each flower bud
to make some bees show up and get you the BEEHIVE HEAD. Go to the right, jumping
past the poisonous roots when they subside, until you see General Rooster come
and kidnap Mr. Pink.

Go to the left at the start of the next section and hit the ladybug on the tree
(#1), then feel free to use the Beehive Head action to go to a bonus stage.
Continue going left, using the fountain to launch yourself upwards (body slam
it) and then cut yourself to the left until you land on top of an elephant (the
second ladybug is on the ceiling as soon as you get on the elephant; #2). You
can use the Elephant Head action while riding the elephant.

The elephant will keep moving to the left, but you will have to take a detour
yourself, by going up and to the left on the hedges. When the two Grubs spawn
and before you use the Wrestler Head to pound the symbol, you'll find the third
and final ladybug above the symbol, netting you the LADYBUG HEAD. In the next
area, land on the dinosaur-shaped bush to make it come alive, which will
automatically get you the TRICERATOPS HEAD.

Use the Triceratops Head action while riding it to make it split into smaller
ones, then ride it out to the next portal. You are now in a top down view, where
you will need to use the seam cut to go from table to table, using the Rooster's
feathers when needed. Note that you can get the TEACUP HEAD by going around and
around on the table with the four teacups, which happens right after you cut
past the first set of feathers. Make sure you watch out for the chairs, which
will drop after a second or two of standing on them.

The next area will be inside of the clock tower. Ride the gears and bomb the
spot right after them, using the smoke to get to the next area. Be careful with
using the boost cut in the circular sections with the spikes on the sides. When
you come to a small platform on the left, jump on it then use the hook to launch
yourself upwards. Once you reach the end, you'll end up outside of the clock
tower for the next section.

When you body slam the designated platforms, birds will appear on the nearby
nests. Toss a bomb into its mouth and it will spew out smoke, letting you go to
the other platforms. Starting with the second section, General Rooster will
appear and slow down your progress by tossing out tornados that knock you back.
Use the feathers that accompany them to get above the twisters and carry on.
Note that you can use the Rabbit Head action to bypass the second screen here.

At the next screen where Rooster is doing the same thing, you can see three
gargoyles at the top. Hit all three with Pikarina to snatch the GARGOYLE HEAD,
then carry on until you're back in the tower. Pound all three levers, then make
your way up the rest of the tower. You'll have to go through all kinds of cogs
with webbing, so make sure you either go quickly or take your time to avoid
getting caught in one with spikes. At the end, you can find the icon to use the
Ladybug Head action, then it's on to the boss fight.

      .-------------------------.
======|  BOSS: General Rooster  |
      '-------------------------'

General Rooster's glaring weakness is the hook under his face, so grab onto that
and keep pressing the Triangle button while dodging his attacks. He will set his
feet ablaze and try to stomp you, so move out of the way before he crashes down.
Eventually, you'll knock him silly and he will fly away, so give chase by using
the feathers he leaves behind, cutting his wing off when you get close enough to
him.

The second phase is the same as the first, except he will pick up pieces of the
tower and drop them down (they come back, so don't worry). Do the same thing as
before to get his other wing. For the third phase, he'll likely start using more
attacks, one of which is summoning a bunch of feathers and large twisters. Use
the feathers to get above the twisters before they hit you.

The other new attack is sending little twisters on fire that go across the
screen one way, then more coming the other way. The first one you can jump over,
with the second wave requiring you to crouch; the attacks coming from the other
side are the same way. Hook him, bring him down, then follow the feathers to
snip his tail. Before initiating the QTE, hit Rooster until he drops the ROOSTER
HEAD, then finish him off for good. You'll automatically get MR. PINK HEAD after
the battle.

                    .====================.
====================|  Act 6, Curtain 3  | (F103)
                    '===================='

Much like the level with General Snake, this one takes place entirely on the
body of General Dragon, with you riding Mr. Pink. Obstacles include the Dragon's
spikes, bolts of lightning, some of which you must crouch under, and of course
gaps in the body. At the beginning of the second area, you can find the icon to
use Mr. Pink Head, bringing you to the bonus stage.

The second area throws some seam cuts into the mix, as well as flaming balls of
hot magma to jump over. At the beginning of the third area, you can use the
Rooster Head action to summon a chicken that lets you bypass the entire area
without worrying about obstacles. At the end of this area, do the final seam cut
to start the boss battle.

      .------------------------.
======|  BOSS: General Dragon  |
      '------------------------'

Dragon will begin by spitting some fireballs at you, which can be avoided by
going all the way to the left or right. As soon as they pass, he'll bring down
part of his body covered in spikes, which you'll need to toss a bomb at to
destroy said spikes. When you do, some Grubs will drop by to join the party, so
take them out and he'll start over with the fireballs again. Once you hit three
bombs on him, he'll fly off with you.

You need to do some seam cuts to sever parts of his body, using the clouds to
get to the next part. Keep going until you start the second phase of the battle.
Here, he'll continue spitting fireballs at you, but you need to hook on and keep
pressing Triangle while dodging said fireballs. After the first time, some Grubs
will spawn, so defeat them and do the hook thing another time to start another
seam cut sequence.

For the third phase, Dragon opts to go with a flame breath attack instead of the
fireballs. This attack will spew smoke with it, which you can use to get above
the attack to dodge it. After he's finished, bomb the body part that appears,
then use the smoke from the flames to get above and do a body slam on the same
body part. Kill the Grubs that spawn and then do the same thing again to get yet
another seam cutting sequence.

It has come down to one last phase, where Dragon will keep his flame breath
attack. This area is rounded, so you can't run too far without sliding back
down. Use the clouds to get to the top of the arena and keep nipping away at the
rope there until you can finally start the seam cutting sequence. At the end of
it, perform one last body slam to stun Dragon. Before initiating the QTE, hit
him with Pikarina to make him drop the DRAGON HEAD, then finish him off for
good.

====================|  Act 7, Curtain 1  | (G101)
                    '===================='

This is the obligatory snow level for this platformer. Go right and watch out
for the icicles when you slide down the icy ramp. Right before crossing the
bridge, you can see a female Yeti behind the tree, so use R2 on it (#1) and
cross the bridge. The second Yeti is right behind the tree after the bridge (#
2), then go right more, bombing the icy paths on the isolated platforms.

The bellies of the sleeping Yeti can be used to bounce up to the next area,
where you find a spot you can body slam, letting you use the falling snow off
the tree to get up to the next ledge. Watch out for the Grubs on the icy spots,
then pound the ground to get more falling snow. Right before the portal, you'll
find the last female Yeti behind the tree and if you used R2 on her all three
times, you get the YETI HEAD.

Use the hooks on the trees in the next area to get snow to fall, allowing you to
cross the gaps. Use bombs to clear the tunnel, being mindful of the small gap
with the spikes. Jump onto the sky lifts and beyond, with the weather turning
into a blizzard. Watch out for the falling snowballs in the next area, but be
extra mindful of the snowman's head. Use R2 on it to get the SNOWMAN HEAD, then
press on to get to the cabin, where you'll find the portal.

Pound the ground at the Wrestler mark and use the Yeti and snow to get to the
ledge above. You'll find the icon for the Yeti Head action here, which will
bring you to the bonus stage. Use the platforms sliding down to get up the hill,
where you'll find a large monkey with cymbals after. If you use the Snowman Head
action here, a large snowman will come and crush the monkey and you can hit it
with R2 to get the CHRISTMAS TREE HEAD. In fact, the Christmas Tree Head action
can be used right after the two Grubs.

Inside the mountain, use the icicles to get past the spikes and drop down where
you see the bomb symbol. Blow up that block, then drop down and do the little
race thing down the slippery slope. At the bottom, there's a ledge above the
polar bears that you can get to, so do that and you'll see a penguin on your
right. Hit him with R2 to get the PENGUIN HEAD, then go down the next slope.
Jump over the penguin that comes from behind, then off the ramp and onto the
seam cut section.

Go from seam cut to seam cut until you get to the bottom of the ramp, where
you'll find some polar bears hanging out. There's yet another slide and more
penguins coming from behind, and you'll end up in a volcanic crater. Watch out
for the fireballs from below (it flashes for a second where they fly up) and
make your way to the next slide segment.

Jump when Pikarina tells you to, then keep sliding, jumping over gaps in your
way. When you reach a flat surface, lava will start coming down from behind, so
quickly bomb the rocks in your way and back to more sliding, jumping over any
ledges that get in your way. The final slide sequence has the bird skeleton
thing spitting fireballs at you, so jump over them and you'll eventually reach
the very bottom.

Take out all of the Grubs in the area and go left until you see a rock with a
UFO symbol on it. Hit it with R2 to get the UFO HEAD, then head back and hit the
Wrestler switch. Follow Monkey as he rockets into space and you'll reach another
on-rails segment, where you get to choose your own method of transportation (no
difference between any of them). You can use the Penguin Head here to get the
bony one from inside the volcano.

The obstacles in this segment include spiked balls, bombs thrown by General
Monkey, and Martians, who will fly into the air when you get close, so don't
jump near them. There will be instances where you go upside down, but nothing
really changes. There's also a warp zone, where you go faster, but as before,
nothing changes. You'll eventually reach the boss fight with Monkey.

      .------------------------.
======|  BOSS: General Monkey  |
      '------------------------'

This isn't the normal boss fight, as Monkey will be on a rocket and you on a
UFO-shaped rock. He will send missiles at you, which either need jumped over or
crouched under as they pass. Once he finishes, a seam cut sequence will appear,
but you need to be quick on these, as he sends homing missiles on the same path.
After clearing the sequence, Monkey will take damage and you need to do it
again. Note that he loses his helmet after the second set, so hit him with
Pikarina on his head to get the MONKEY HEAD. There is no QTE sequence to end the
fight.

                    .====================.
====================|  Act 7, Curtain 2  | (G102)
                    '===================='

Use the scissors to cut your way up the gas until you get to a spot with some
Grubs. Take them out and you'll have to defeat two laser-shooting flowers by
reflecting their beams back at them. There will be another vertical sequence
here with more gas, then more Grubs and flowers. Hit the plane flying in the
background with Pikarina to cause it to crash and get the FIGHTER PLANE HEAD.
There will be two flowers at first, then three.

After this, use the gas to reach the next section, where there will be a bunch
of Grubs and yet another flower. Cut through the leaves to the bouncing flowers
and to a platform where you can use the Fighter Plane Head action to get to a
bonus stage. Keep going to the top until you eventually reach Castle Wax Wane.

Inside, go to the right and be careful of the spiked vines. This place is pretty
standard for platforming, so a step-by-step guide isn't really needed. You will
find paintings here and you need to hit R2 on each one, with the corresponding
to the Generals you fought throughout the game. When you get to a giant plant,
throw a bomb inside and then cut the bud to destroy it.

After placing the Moonstone shard in the shape of a banana, you can use the
Monkey Head action to do nothing really. When you see Gaff, hit him with R2 to
get the GAFF HEAD, then keep continuing through the castle. The last animal
painting is the dragon, after which will be a long painting with the Moon
Goddess and her friends. If you hit all the other paintings, hit the long one to
get the MOON GODDESS HEAD. Reflect the light with the Knight's shield onto the
plant and do the seam cut sequence to get to the boss.

      .--------------.
======|  Vile Vines  |
      '--------------'

At the beginning of this fight, find the light on the floor and use the Knight's
shield to shine it on the nearest vine. Climb to the top using the leaves, then
do a body slam to go below. Take out the beam flower and smash the floor on the
left, where you'll find another two beam flowers. Remember to let your shield
recharge before trying to reflect more beams. Cut through the vines and smash
the next piece of floor, where you'll find more vines and a bud. Use the seam
cut to get back to the top.

If you have the Moon Goddess Head, use its action to instantly defeat the big
eyeball thing and read on below. Otherwise, reflect the light onto the eyeballs
to get rid of them, noting that there will be a carousel of death in the middle.
With the big thing gone, reflect the light onto one of the vine mouth things to
continue the battle. It's best to isolate the flowers and only concentrate on
one, so you don't get hit by the others. Use the leaves to get up and to the
left, where you can pound the ground to go back under.

This is more of the same underground, so keep going until you enter the room
with the bud. There will be four beam flowers here and it's important to
remember that you won't be able to reflect the beam one shoots onto the same one
at first, so reflect it at another. They go in clockwise order, so reflect it
onto the next one. Cut the bud and use the seam cut to get back above, where you
will find the big eyeball thing again.

Take it out like last time and there will be all kinds of vines, Grubs and some
of the mouth thingies. Find the light you can reflect and then reflect it onto
the mouth, enabling you to initiate a seam cut sequence. When you get to the
top, you'll cut through the final bud and finish off the creature, getting the
WHITE CASTLE HEAD in the process.

                    .====================.
====================|  Act 7, Curtain 3  | (G103)
                    '===================='

Welcome to the last level of the game! Wait until Gaff fires the cannon, then
use the smoke to get across, noting that you will get hit by some stray
cannonballs and not lose a head. You'll be greeted by some Grubs when you get
inside of the Black Castle, so take them out and head past the gears. In the
room with all of the wires, use the hook to get rid of the rubble, then bomb the
floor to reveal a button. Get up high, avoiding the electric balls, and body
slam the button to open the path back up again.

Go through the two electrified cogs with the webbing and you'll see a set of
cogs will be electrified next. Note that stoplight above those cogs, as when it
turns green, it becomes safe to jump on the cogs. This will turn red and the
cogs will be electrified again, so you don't have much time. When you get to the
very large gear, cut your way around and into the middle to stop it (don't use
the boost cut here to avoid touching the electrified walls).

You're blasted back to Castle Wax Wane, where you get packed into the cannon, so
press X when ready to launch yourself back to Black Castle. Slide down and use
the smoke to get inside of the smokestack. Jump onto the pistons and use the
smoke to avoid getting heated up by the fire pillars. You'll have Pikarina point
out that there are some extra Grubs being carried on the conveyor above you and
if you hit all three with her, you'll get the GRUB HEAD.

Carry on to the end and wait for a minecart to arrive, jumping in. Jump out at
the end and use the smoke to get past the spinning fire part. You'll now have a
minecart chasing after you, so slide down the hill and keep going right until
you can use a seam cut to eventually reach a switch you can body slam. Be
careful of the things the Grubs throw and take out the beam flower first, then
slowly make your way up, taking out the Grubs. Pound the switch and use the
smoke to reach the other side, tossing a bomb into the engine; do this two more
times to finish this section off.

Blast off again and use the clouds to reach the Black Castle, where you will be
inside of a cannon. If you use R2 on the cannonball, you will get the BLACK
CASTLE HEAD (the cannonball will keep appearing). Use the smoke left behind to
get above and then use the elevator on the right to drop down to the floor
below, noting you can use the Grub Head action here to get to the bonus stage.

There will be a large conveyor belt next, where you will find pistons trying to
smash you, as well as bombs being dropped on it. Note that you can destroy these
bombs with your own, which helps a lot on the section where the bombs stick to
the conveyors. At the end, you see the gunpowder mill, which will require you to
use the hook to damage. It spits bombs at you, which are marked on the ground
with targets. After three hits, you're finished with it and have to escape from
the castle using seam cuts and normal cuts.

      .------------------------.
======| BOSS: Moon Bear King |
      '------------------------'

He's quite large, isn't he? Moon Bear King starts the battle by stomping the
ground with his feet. You can damage him by tossing bombs out that he will step
on, being mindful of the large ball-thing he summons with his feet after hitting
them once. Hit both feet twice and you will initiate a seam cut sequence on both
legs that will finish off the first phase. There will be a short QTE that
follows, leading to the second phase.

Of course, Moon Bear King learns some new attacks during the second phase, one
of which has him try to smash you with a boulder. He will also hit the ground
with an electric thing, sending a quick shockwave. When he goes into the
background, he will make boulders appear that roll towards the screen. The goal
here is to use your hook powers to pull on the thing on his stomach. It's best
to wait until after he does the boulder smash move, since it's a little hard to
keep pulling and dodge it.

After pulling the hook twice, there will be another seam cutting sequence, where
you will have to jump over obstacles. There will be another QTE here that leads
to the third phase. His only attacks here will be using his fan to summon a
large gust of wind, as well as some debris, then swipe the screen with his large
paw immediately afterwards. Use the Knight's shield to throughout the first
attack and hopefully it isn't completely spent to block his swipe.

Blocking his swipe will damage his paw and after the second time, he will blow
you upwards, so use the smoke to get back to the ground. As soon as you land, be
ready for another swipe and if you block it, this will initiate another seam
cutting sequence. There will be another QTE sequence that will lead to the final
phase.

It's just Moon Bear King's head left now, with him spewing out debris that falls
from the sky. Block them using the Knight's shield and he will try to smash you
with his head. Use the smoke to get above him and then do a body slam on the
back of his head. He will use the same attacks throughout this phase and once
you body slam him three times, do the final seam cutting sequence to return him
to normal size. Hit him with Pikarina to get the MOON BEAR KING HEAD, then do
the final QTE sequence to finish him off for good.

Q) When did Puppeteer get released?
A) It came out on September 5, 2013 in Japan, September 10, 2013 in North
   America and on September 13, 2013 in Europe.

Q) Help! I can't find a head!
A) I tried my best to describe the locations of each head in the walkthrough
   above. At a later time, I will likely provide a list of each head that is
   located in the levels, although it's not a given. You can search for a given
   head by searching for it using CTRL + F if needed.

Q) I can't find out where to use a given head action.
A) I did list some of the head actions in the walkthrough above, but I don't
   think I got all of them. I might add a section for this sometime later, but
   that depends on whether I have the time or not.
