The first level was copied from my demo guide, for added convenience, and because the demo was literally copy/pasted from the full game (however I had to omit the cutscenes for logical reasons). First to Third Levels, along with Extra and General Skill Points, were typed up. =28/1/08= (Version 0.4) Starting to get to grips with the formatting of the Guide. Finished all levels up to Rykan 5, and updated the Legal Bits to point out where I've quoted directly from the game. =4/2/08= (Version 0.99) Guide is all fully finished as far as I can tell. There is one section pending to be included, which is all done, however I am submitting it as a seperate Guide. This section is the Tools of Production Locations. Also changed the ACII Art to be different from the one in the Demo Guide. =6/2/08= (Version 1.0) The Tools of Production Locations were rejected so I have stuck them here. =7/11/09= (Version 1.01) Updated the Allowed Sites list. =25/11/14= (Version 1.02) Added a Tools of Production location that I had missed. Thanks you YouTube user isaiahgregov! ============== =Introduction= ============== Welcome, welcome, to my SECOND FAQ! Some of you may remember me writing a guide for the demo for Tools of Destruction (ToD for short). Well, I decided to roll from there and do the full game! This Guide will not devulge in the details of things like Weapons, Gadgets, Devices and Armour. They will get their own seperate Guide. However, this will go into the details of Extras such as Skill Points and Gold Bolts, but they will be listed amongst the planets you get them on (aside from General Skill Points, they will have their own section). If there's anything you feel is missing from the Guide or something that you feel would need changing, feel free to contact me at timv@paradise.net.nz. Given the amount of free time I currently have I'll be sure to reply to you in a jiffy (that is, usually a day or two). Things like spelling mistakes and Checkpoint placement corrections are gladly accepted. Spam and hate mail goes into the Trashcan. DELETED!!! NOTE: This Guide is based upon the PAL version of Tools of Destruction. As a result, there may be small inconsistencies that may show up. The game is also just called Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction here, but I think the inclusion of Future makes it better. ============ =Legal Bits= ============ This guide is copyright of me, Tim van der Meij. Thus far, the only websites allowed to host this Guide are the following: = GameFAQs.com = Supercheats.com = MyPS3.com.au = CheatCodesCentral.com (Cheatcc.com) = Supercheats.com = Gamershell.com = Neoseeker.com However, if you would like to host it on your site, drop me an email and I'll allow you to use it if I consider it appropriate. Keep in mind that I primarily use GameFAQs to upload the latest version of my Guides. Any part of this Guide that is listed in the Contents, in full or in part, may be printed for personal, non-profit use only. Anything and everything else may not be copied for aforementioned use. The first paragraph at the beginning of a mission is the mission description taken from the game, as are the planet descriptions taken from the game's map screen, and the Help Desk messages are also taken directly from the game. The same applies to Skill Point descriptions. Some strategies for Skill Points are from PS2Marinerfan's Skill Point FAQ, and some of those are from other GameFAQ users. The Mission Walkthrough itself, as well as elaboraion and explination on the Skill Points are all purely by me. ========== =Contents= ========== Here is a list for you to jump to where you need to be. Each section is given a code. Press Ctrl+F to open the search box, and copy the code into the search box. Hit Enter until you get to the desired section! If you are looking for general Skill Points, look at the end of each level to find a list. If the Skill Point is a bit complicated, lengthy, or can be easily implemented into the guide. it will get it's own special segment, marked by a * border. Similarly, Gold Bolt guides will be marked with # borders in-guide, and Holo-Plans with @ borders. All Skill Points have a 10 Point Value, thus the value is not listed. The main stand-out point for the first game was a very apparent use of Weapons and Gadgets, ranging from rocket launchers to a Ray that turn your enemies into various barnyard animals. The first game, just titled Ratchet and Clank, was a big hit, and spawned 3 sequels (although the last one can be considered a spin-off title). They each expanded on the formula of getting co-ordinates to the next planet to get more weapons and more enemies to blow up. The second game, tited Going Commando in the US and Locked and Loaded in PAL regions, introduced two of the biggest features in the line of perfecting the formula: Weapon Upgrading and Strafing. The third, titled Up Your Arsenal, introduced Lock-Strafe mode and the highly popular Online play. The last game, Deadlocked, was more Online-focused and had a darker, edgier feel compared to the previous games, but introduced an extensive Mod system. The game also got a portable title, Size Matters, and was developed by High Impact games, who are all made up of Ex-Insomniacs. This, and their new up-coming title, Secret Agent Clank, are for the PSP. The former is also a PS2 port. The latter is based upon a TV Show that appeared in Up Your Arsenal and got a breif mention in Deadlocked. All the games save Size Matters are available as Greatest Hits/Platinum titles, so are available at a relatively cheap cost if you want to get a taste of ToD. Insomniac Games have also shown intent to do a sequel to ToD, purely through plot events. =============================== =Title Menu and Options #TMO= =============================== The Title Menu has Ratchet working on his Sky Bike (the official name is unknown), with Clank going over a small monitor. This is remniscent of the Title Menus of the first game and UYA. Here, you can do three things: Select New Game, watch the first cinematic, and play the game, select Options, Load and Delete, or you can wait 30 seconds and watch a Sizzle Reel, featuring various gamplay elements from the game in the style of a Movie Trailer. The Load and Delete options will allow you to Load or Delete saves. Load, obviously, will only allow you to load ToD saves, however the Delete save allows you to delete ANY game save file of ANY game that you have on your PS3's HDD. In the Options Menu, you can change the following elements of the game: - Sound Effect Volume - Music Volume - Speech Volume (This affects the Help Text Voice) (Note that these options do not effect the Volume of their respective elements in the cinematics of the game) - Help Text Toggle: Toggles the Help Text that guides new players through the controls of the game. Useful if you're already acquainted with the conrols of the Ratchet and Clank series. - Subtitles: This toggles the subtitles displayed during cutscenes. - Audio Mode: Toggle between Stereo (two speakers) and Surround Sound (up to 5 speakers, plus a subwoofer of course). ========================== Gameplay Mechanics #GPM= ========================== As the controls in the game are explained as you read through the Guide, I have not listed them. Instead I have put down the main Gameplay Mechanics, a more convenient method. Many of these have been in previous Ratchet and Clank titles. =The Quick Select Ring= For easy weapon equipping on the go, the Quick Select is the method of choice for any gamer. Hold Triangle and Select a Weapon/Combat Device with the Left Analog Stick. The Quick Select Ring can be customized with any Weapon, Gadget or Combat Device over a total of 3 Rings. The Quick Select Ring has a Pause on it, so you don't have to worry about enemy fire when choosing weapons, unless of course you disable it in the Options Menu. You can cycle through the Quick Select Rings with L1 and R1. =Map= The Map is used to track your progress throughout a level. You can use it to see how far you are in the level, where you've been, and how far you have to go. Meteor Pads are also marked, as are the various Vendors, Leviathans, People of Interest and, with the Treasure Mapper, secret areas and Gold Bolts. =Crates= There are six (and a half) types of crates in the game: Bolt Crates and Ammo Crates. Bolt Crates give you bolts, which you can spend on a variety of Weapons in the full game. The second type is the Nanotech Crate. Nanotech is Ratchet's Health, and if he runs out, he dies. Nanotech gains experience and upgrades when you defeat enemies, just like your weapons do. Nanotech Crates contain four Nanotech Orbs inside, restoring 1 Hit Point each. The third type of crate is the TNT Crate. Touch this to set off the 2 second timer, or you can detonate it instantly by shooting it. Don't hit it with the Razor Blades or the Omniwrench, as you'll be caught in the blast (a Comet Stike from a safe distance works, though). The fourth type and a half are Ammo Crates, which give you ammunition for your two weapons, and a regenerating type which spawns a new crate every 15 seconds or so, if there is no Ammo Box or Ammo Canister already over the pad. Ammo canisters are colour-coded, and can only be picked up if you require 1 or more ammo. The fifth crate is the Jackpot crate. This crate will drop a token which will double the amount of Bolts and Raritanium you will ear for 30 seconds. It also lets of a neat little fireworks display! The final type of crate is the Metal Crate, which is a tough crate that can only be opened with a TNT Crate, or an explosive weapon like the Fusion Grenades or the Negotiator. =Meteor Pads= These Pads were first introduced in RaC2, and have been fun ever since! Jump on a Green Pad whilst standing on one to be shot up into the air to a preset destination. Purple ones launch you just when you make contact with them. =SIXAXIS Gameplay= At a certain point in the demo, Ratchet will freefall. During this breathtaking experience (literally, it's hard to breath when you're falling), you can tilt the controller to direct Ratchet out of (or into) harm's way. In the full game, SIXAXIS is used for a Weapon, two Gadgets and a Combat Device; The Tornado Launcher, The Decryptor, The Geo-Laser and the Visi-Copter, respectively. =Dualshock 3= Despite being released a short while after the Dualshock 3 was even announced, Tools of Destruction is compatible with the Rumble feature of the Dualshock 3. This feature is used, say, when you Thrust with the Thruster Pack or charge up the Alpha Disruptor, and generally makes the game more fun and immersive. =Breakables= Breakables are certain objects in the game which you can smash for extra bolts. These also show off the physics engine from Resistance, as you can play around with the broken peices. Several Skill Points in the PS2 series were based around breaking stuff. =Bolts= Bolts are the main form of currency in every Ratchet and Clank game, and are all found by a common goal: destroy stuff. They come from enemies, crates, and breakables. The abundancy of bolts increases throughout the game, which is just as well as the cost of buying weapons and stuff from the Smuggler increses with it. Different kinds of bolts give you different amounts. Bolts are also awarded to you when you trade Leviathan Souls to the Smuggler. =Raritanium= A currency found throughout the games, this has become less and less, well, rare, as the series has progressed (going from a single rock in the first game to a frequent find in ToD). Raritanium is used in the game to purchase upgrades to your weapons. They can be found in several different ways. The first and foremost way is in Pirate Raritanium Chests hidden throughout the levels. These chests also give you Combat Device ammo in most cases. The second is in Raritanium Ore chunks in a couple of the levels. A third method is by purchasing Raritanium Mods for weapons that have them. The fourth, and probably most productive method, is by shooting the Raritanium Pyramids in the Space Combat levels. =Grummel Vendors= Grummel Vendors are the main places you'll be spending your cash on. They come in three types. The first is the Weapons Vendor. Here you'll be able to restock your Ammo in a pinch, purchase weapons and restock a set amount of ammo for a particular weapon, or purchase modifications to your weapons. This is the only vendor that does not have a Grummel actually there in front of you (this one speaks over a radio from a remote location). The second vendor type is the Combat Devices Vendor. This guy sells you the different Combat Devices available in the game. Aside from Raritanium Chests, you can only get Combat Device ammo from a vendor. The third vendor is the Armour Vendor. This guy appears less commonly than the other vendors, however he sells the ever-important armour in the game. These cost a lot most of the time, however the advantage they give you in battle is invaluble. =Upgrading Weapons= Throughout the course of the game, you'll pick up many different weapons in the game. These can all be upgraded via experience, or in the game, nano-mites. The more powerful a foe is, the more nanomites it provides to your weapons. The system is slightly different this time, as the nanomites are provided for each HIT, not when you kill the enemy. Nanomites are also given to Ratchet to upgrade his health. It maxes out at 999, but this is only morally acheivable in Challenge Mode. =================== =PS3 Themes #PST= =================== The game, due to it's popularity, has scored itself some PS3 Themes, One official, all others user-made. The best of these is Toppot's RC BETA Theme. Toppot is a user on the Insomnaic Games Forum. The official theme uses imagery linked to certain aspects of the game. For instance, the Settings logo is the Omniwrench and the the Network logo is the Insomnaic Moon (called Dantopia, as discorvered in Up Your Arsenal). You can download this from the US PSN Store. All of the Themes are available for free. ===================== =Actual Guide #ATC= ===================== So here's the actual guide. This guide will help even the most basic of players master the game. Help Desk Messages will be displayed in [brackets] and will be discussed accordingly. ================================== =Metropolis, Planet Kerwan #MPK= ================================== =Mission 1: Go to the Defence Centre!= Qwark needs your help at the Planetary Defence Centre! Figher past the invading army and help Qwark defend the city. So, after the opening cutscene, you'll start off among the wreckage of Ratchet's Sky Bike (just as he crashed his ship on Novalis in the first game). The first thing you'll see is the sky filled with mortars from large, evil looking ships. The first order of the day is to equip the Thruster Pack. This offers you a sligthly faster getaway than the Heli-Pack, not to mention that it looks cool! Looking to your left you'll see an Ammo Crate. You don't need it yet, but if you want you can smash it. The pad underneath it means it regenerates, so if you're low on ammo and have used up all Ammo Crates, you can come back here to stock up. You'll also see breakable lights behind you. Walk across the bridge-platform, breaking the lamp posts if you want to, as they give you bolts, and up to the two Claw Mechs ahead of you. [Welcome back Customer 91802! If you're looking to combat a massive, deadly space armada, the Gadgetron Help Desk will be happy to assist!] A well-placed Fusion Grenade should dispose of them quickly. Squish the Drophyds if you want to for a bit of experience and extra bolts. Taking a few steps forward, a mortar will smash into the golden Quark Statue and blow it apart. At it's feet are a small swarm of Tesla-Drones. Smash them with the Combustor. You will want to destroy the Drophyd fish as they give you bolts and Raritanium (once you buy a Raritanium mod for a weapon that can have one). Go to your left and smash the crates for bolts and ammo. Return back the way you came and Fusion Grenade the group of enemies ahead of you. [You can deal more damage with your Wrench by executing a Hyperstrike. Press X, followed by Square] Smash the boxes on the sides of the walkway, jump up the stairs, and smash the crates and civ-bots on and near the balconies. You will want to smash civ-bots with the Omniwrench as they do not give you any experience. Continue ahead and use a Fusion Grenade on the flying Mech. [Press Circle to use your currently selected weapon] You already know this, however you can also use R1 to fire as well. Quickly take care of the cop-bots on the bridge with the Combustor, and watch a Hovership fly in to dispatch some troops. Quickly use 3 Fusion Grenades on it before it causes too much trouble. [To use the Meteor Pad, stand on the Pad and press the Jump Button] Do as the Help Desk says and use the Meteor Pad to get shot up to a higher level.nWatch as a car smashes into the bridge you're on and sends it crumbling down below. As you land, beware of the giant Enforcer just in front of you. It won't cause any harm to you, however you can throw a Groovitron (if you're in Challenge Mode) and cause it to stop and dance. Here it will remain where it is and attack you. Given that it doesn't take damage, you shouldn't really do this, rather just let it jump ahead, and then off onto the side of a building. [You can access the Quick Select Menu by holding down Triangle. Use the Left Stick to select your weapon] Smash the crates to your left, and use Grenades on the three Jetpack Mechs. Turn right to smash more crates, then use the Meteor Pad to launch up to a higher balcony, and watch the earlier Enforcer blast toward you and a mortar his the side of a nearby building. ***CHECKPOINT*** Use the Fusion Grenades on the group of Mechs ahead of you to quickly take care of them (and maybe a few civilian robots). Smash the crates and civ-bots located on the balcony and continue on the grind rail. [Jump on the grind rail to use your Grindboots!] Leap over to the right rail on your side and slide down past a building. Watch in awe as you see two mortars destroy the building you're sliding next to, but don't forget to jump over the gaps caused by falling debris and the Electric Shockers on the rail itself. As you slide onto the new balcony, use the Fusion Grenades to dispatch of the two Mechs, smash the Tesla-Drones coming from your left with the Wrench, and then Grenade the Hovership coming in to drop off more troops. Smash the crates in this area, and then go through the short hallway the Tesla-Drones came out of. [To enter Aim Mode, hold down L1. You can then Aim with the Right Stick and move with the Left Stick. Press the R1 Button to fire] You can use this mode to take out the Hover-Saucer ahead of you. Enter Aim Mode and equp the Combustor. Aim and fire at it a couple of times to blow it up. In Aim Mode, Ratchet moves about Slowly and cannot Jump, but benefits from more prescice aiming. Smash the Crates and the Tesla-Drones with the Wrench, and throw a grenade at the Hover-Saucer. Jump onto the Meteor Pad to get thrown up and then down past two Enforcers. When this ride ends, you'll land on a Purple Pad which will send you off to another balcony. ***CHECKPOINT*** When you land, smash the Civ-bots on your right and head to your left to dispose the Tesla Drones. Smash the crates and Grenade the two Hover-Saucers. Watch in the foreground as another building goes down. Head over the Sky Bridge, and as you take out the Tesla-Drones with the Wrench, the bridge behind you will start to crubmle. Use the Fusion Grenades to take out any Mechs on the Bridge and the Wrench on Tesla-Drones. It is around this point that your Health will upgrade to 11 hit points, if you haven't died yet. [Nanotech acquired! The more Nanotech you have, the more damage you can take] [[Second Nanotech Upgrade] Your maximun Nanotech level has increased!] ***CHECKPOINT*** As you enter the next balcony, ignore the crates and smash the Tesla-Drones. Stay on the balcony and let more flow through the doorway. When the two Mechs inside get close to you, give them a grenade and walk inside. Tesla-Drones will flow out of a detonated door on your right as two Jetpack Mechs come in through the door on the other side. The best way to take them out is to throw Fusion Grenades at the enemies when they bunch up together. Take out the two Jetpack Mechs and smash the crates you ignored earlier. There are also crates on the far left side of the room and through the door on the right that the Tesla-Drones flowed out of earlier. Jump onto the Grind Rail, and you'll be taken around a building which will promptly be destroyed. Dodge the incoming Grav-Trains and be taken to a balcony. Dispatch the enemies with the Omniwrench, smash the boxes, and use the Metor Pads to launch yourself up to another balcony. Once again, destroy the Mechs with the Wrench, hit the boxes, and use the Meteor Pad to move on. You'll land on a Purple Meteor Pad and be thrown up to another Sky Bridge. ***CHECKPOINT*** Equip the Combustor and/or the Gravity Bomb and dash down the Sky Bridge as it collapses behind you. Jump over any gaps and quickly destroy the mechs you meet along the way. Here, the Fusion Grenades should Upgrade to V2. [ Your weapon has upgraded! Weapons upgrade automatically as they are used. Upgrades cause more damage and adds new Modifications] After a while, the Sky Bridge will be destroyed and Ratchet will freefall. Here, use the SIXAXIS to guide Ratchet through the traffic (as pointed out when he says "They just HAD to invade during RUSH HOUR!"). There really isn't any risk here in terms of Health, if you actually manage to it something, it won't take off any damage. When you get close to the Platform/Bridge, the next cutscene will play. =Mission 2: Escape on the Mag Rail= It appears that the invading army is after Ratchet! Escape on the mag rail and look for a way to lure the army off the planet. As Ratchet will start heading up (yes, up) the Grind Rail, immediately jump out of the way of the Hover-Saucer's laser, then back to the middle rail, as another will join it and laser the side rails. You'll reach the top and curve round, where there are more Mag-Trains heading right for you. Dodge all of them and leap over to the right-most rail and stay there to remain safe. Ratchet will grind up as another Hover-Saucer will fly to the side of the rail and take out two sections of the rail. Jump over these. One of the ships launching mortars will track you up the top as you follow the rail towards the camera. Dodge the lasers the warship fires as you slide down. The rails will now turn to the left as the Warship will cease fire for a bit. It'll begin firing once more as you make the final dash. Make it to then end of this section and you will have to face the (apparent) wrath of Emporer Tachyon! ========================= =Cerullean Sector #CRS= ========================================= =Gelatonium Plant, Planet Cobalia #GPC= ========================================= Planet Cobalia is the richest source of Gelatonium in the Polaris Galaxy. Cobalia fell under imperial control three years ago, and the rest of the galaxy has sice been dependant on Emporer Tachyon's rationing of Gelatonium fuel for interstellar travel. =Misson 1: Explore Cobalia= You have crash landed on a remote planet called Coballia. Emperor Tachyon may not be far behind, so look for a way to get off the planet. So, after that amusing cutscene, you're now stranded on an unknown planet. Behind you is a Nanotech crate, however you won't need it right now. Ahead are some strange Goofy Bugs. They are easy kills, so take them out with the Combustor. After jumping up the steps you will see two more Bugs and a large Centipede. Kill the Bugs with the Combustor again, and use the Fusion Greneades on the Ceintipede. Go through the small gap in the wall to your left, and take out the three surprise Bugs. Turn left and avoid the gassing fissure in the ground to smash two ammo crates and a Nano Crate. Jump over the fissure and take out the large swarm of Bugs with the Combustor (you should be getting the idea now). Head on over to the gap where two Centipedes come out from the walls. Fusion Grenade these (again, you should always use this weapon on Centipedes). Before jumping the gap, hop down and kill two bugs and smash the large pile of Crates. Jump up the stairs and cross the bridge. The next area will have three bugs and two (regurgitating) Centipedes. Take these out acordingly. Don't worry if you kills the Bugs with the Fusion Grenades by accident. [To perform a High Jump, hold R2, then press X] High Jump up to the top of the cliff and you'll be greeted by a large, snake-like creature. ***CHECKPOINT*** This is a Basilisk Leviathan. Leviathans provide you with Leviathan Souls, which you can sell for a hefty amount of bolts. However, you cannot kill this one (yet). As it, er, 'swims' away, smash the three small crate stacks over the thin bridge. In the next area, you will face 9 Centipedes, however they will come in waves. If you run out of Fusion Grenades, don't be afraid to use the Combustor. As you get to the doorway, a large group of Bugs will come out. Kill them, but don't go through the doorway just yet. Turn to your left and see a thin cliff you can jump up. In this area, kill the three bugs and the Centipede, and advance to smash the crates and the Raritanium Chest. When you get the Raritanium, you'll hear [You have acquired Raritanium! It can be used to upgrade your weapons. Simply go to a Vendor, and select Upgrade Weapon!] You should get about 130 Raritanium from the chest. Don't worry if som fall off the side, they will float right back to ya. Backtrack and go through the door. Smash the crates inside, particularly the wall of crates blocking your way into the next area. Kill the three Centipedes and into the next room. Smash more Crates, and then Wall-Jump up the Jump Slot to get to the top. Smash more crates, including one behind you to the left. ***CHECKPOINT*** [To Glide, jump and hold X] You will have to Glide in order to get to the shaded island. Smash the crates, and then kill the Centipede on the next island. You can actually throw a Grenade from the first island. When you get the the second island; [The Comet Strike is an effective way to reach distant enemies and bolts. Simply crouch, then press Square to throw your Wrench] When you perform a Comet Strike, you can walk away, and the Wrench will come back to you like a Boomerang. However, just kill the two Bugs on the next Island with the Combustor. Get onto the mainland and smash the small crate stack in front of you, however ignore the others and kill the approaching Bugs. Kill as many Centipedes as you can with Grenades, however don't be surprised if you run out of ammo as more and more come. Switch to the Combustor and slog it out, however don't forget to avoid the fissures. Once done, go through the door. [To switch your current control scheme, access the Controls Section of the Options Menu] This will switch you into Lock-Strafe mode, however I find that normal mode is just as effective. [Strafing will greatly increase your tactical efficiency. To strafe, hold down L2 while running] You should be strafing by now. If you haven't, get in the swing of things so you don't get clobbered later in the game. In the nest room you will see a large pile of crates, along with a new type. This is a Jackpot Crate. [With the Jackpot Powerup, you will temporarily ear more bolts and Raritanium.] 2x more bolts and Raritanium, to be prescice. Equip the Fusion Grenades, smash the crate, and them blow up the piles. Don't forget the stack behind you to the left. After this, kill the Bugs outside and then the two Centipedes who smash through the wall. Collect the bolts from these enemies quickly. Jump up the wall to find two ammo and two nano Crates. Smash them. ***CHECKPOINT*** =Mission 2: Defeat the Leviathan= Having stumbled into the Leviathan's Lair, you'll need to defeat the voracious beast or end up as a Leviathan hors d'oevre! The next area is like an arena. Jump down to face the Leviathan you saw earlier. To kill the Leviathan here, use a weapon that is currently lower than the other. The attacks are quite easy to dodge, and if you are hit it doesn't matter much. Persistance is the key here. There are ammo crates in the area that regenerate, so don't worry about ammo usage. Once the Leviathan is dead, a Leviathan Soul, as well as a hefty amount of Raritanium, is yours. [You have collected a Leviathan Soul. These are valuble in the Polaris Galaxy, and can be traded for Bolts] So that is the first clue as to where you are, in a different galaxy. Quickly jump over to the Raritanium and get it (they dissapear if you turn the camera way for too long), and then go back and restock your ammo from the regenerating crates. Proceed to the next area to see the Cobalia Spaceport. ***CHECKPOINT*** =Mission 3: Explore the Spaceport= There must be some good, upstanding citizen who's willing to give you a ride. Explore the Spaceport and find transportation off this rock. The cutscene showed you a burly looking fellow, however you can proceed at your own pace. Listen in amusement (and/or fear) at the announcer, as you go about the docks smashing civ-bots and crates. You will find a new red crate. If you touch it, it will take 2 seconds for it to blow up. Use any weapon on it to detonate it early (however do not use one too close as you will get caught in the blast). Use the Comet Strike to save on ammo. You will also find a Weapons Vendor. These are special Vendors run by the Grummels. As the Grummel explains, you can buy ammo, more weapons, and upgrade 'em with Raritanium. You can get the Skill Point Cheapskate here too. Fire one Combustor shot, and then go to Buy Werapon/Ammo and purchase a shot. Easy, eh? As for whch weapon to upgrade, I suggest upgrading the Combustor a bit first. As Raritanium Upgrading is more ofter based up preference, I won't delve much into it in this Guide. There are also two weapons available, the Plasma Beasts and the Tornado Launcher. The Plasma Beasts are Slime Monsters you throw out who leap onto enemies and spray them with toxic goop as they disintergrate. The Tornado Launched fires a disk which creates a mini tornado. You control the disk by tilting the SIXAXIS, and this can pick up enemies, breakables and even bolts. You won't need either of them at this point, and there's another little something coming up soon which you may want to buy. Anyways, explore the docking areas and smash the crates. [To access your Map, press the Select button] The Map comes in handy on some of the larger area when you get lost, as well as finding out where you need to go if you get confused. Walk up to the Smuggler. =Mission 4: Restore the Gelatonium Pumps= The empire has shut down the Gelatonium plant. No ships can refuel until the pumps are back online. Use the Gelenator to get the fuel pumps working before Tachyon's armies find you. Before you go inside the plant, smash the Gelatonium canisters for a couple of bolts, and then to the left. Meet the Combat Device Grummel. Combat Devices are special weapons that can only be purchased here, or found in Raritanium Chests. These are handy in tough battle situations. Currently you can buy ammo for the Groovitron and the Leech Bomb. The Groovitron is a device that takes the form of a Disco Ball. Throw one, and it will light up and play music, and any enemy caught within the lights and sounds will instantly bust their stuff. It even works on bosses! The Leech Bomb is a sort of flash grenade that sucks the health from your enemies and gives it to you. Quite handy in a tight spot. Smash the remaining canisters and civ-bots before entering the Gelatonium Plant. You might have noticed an elevator indent on the right and a place where there should be a bridge on the left. These will be resolved once you complete the Gelatonium Plant section. Okay, you can enter the Gelatonium Plant now. Ignore the announcer and smash the crate stack to the right, and then walk up to the yellow structure ahead to the right of the door. [To fill up the Gelenator, stand next to the Gelatonium Receptacle and press Triangle] Yeah I've never heard of the word receptacle either. Press Triangle to fill up the Gelanator and open the door in front of you. However this closes the door you used to enter the plant. Walk through the open one to see the wonderfully realised Gelatonium river. ***CHECKPOINT*** Make sure you smash every crate you can find here if you want the Skill Point A Smashing Good Time. You will need to continue this trend out in the Spaceport on both crates and civ-bots. At the end of this river, note the two large Gelatonium pumps. To get a Skill Point, you will have to jump into two of these rivers at the top of the Gelofall. You won't lose a life, as Ratchet will be extracted from the Gelatonium and brought up in an elevator that rises from the hatch in the floor to your left (crazy The Button dude sold seperately). If you don't want to sink, Ratchet has two chances to jump out of the gelo before he runs out of energy and sinks regardless if you try to make him jump. [You can use gelatonium to access elevated locations. Simply press Circle to discharge a traversable gel cube. Please note that gel cubes lose molecular intergrity over time] What the Help Desk does not say is that you have unlimited shots with the Gelanator. Turn to your right ans shoot at the wall with the green arrows on it. Use the Cube to destroy Megatron. Err, I mean, jump to to the top of the ledge. The two blue lights at the top can be smashed for bolts. At the second ledge, one gelo cube isn't enough to get to the top of this ledge. So, after shooting your first cube, shoot it again to get a larger one. Now you're able to get to the top. Smash the crate stacks at the top (watch out for the TNT one in the farther stack), but before you figure out this next bit, jump into the gello pool and let Ratchet sink. This will get the first requirement for the I Should Have Gone Down in a Barrel Skill Point. Get back up to the top and shoot a cube into the pool. It will stay in there, but use it to leap across in one jump before it dissolves (you will need to Glide). Once across, after smashing the lights and the stack to the right, take note of the green Gel-bots. These annoying little guys cannot be killed, however they can be stunned for 5 seconds. Why would you want to stun them, I hear you ask? Well, these robots help in Gelatonium mining, and store it in those canisters on their backs. As such, they'll eat your gelo cubes. Yeah, I can see you hitting them already. You can also stun them for 20 seconds by encasing them in gelo (15 seconds for the gelo to dissolve, 5 seconds for the duration the bots are stunned). Before using the path just a short way ahead, take the path to the left (in the direction the gelofalls are flowing). Stun the gel-bot here by whacking it with your Wrench, then quickly make a full Gelo Cube by shooting three gelo charges quickly. Leap up and Ratchet will just be able to grab the top. Pull him up and smash the two stack to your right. Walk ahead and spot the gap in the railing where you'll see the two Gelatonium pumps I pointed out earlier. Jump across the top of them to get to the ulta-shiny catwalk on the other side. Blow up the stack of crates by using a Comet-Strike, and then walk to the far left to find two Raritanium Chests. Smash them both for a healthy dose of the stuff. Use a Full Gelo Cube (if you really want to) to help to Glide over to the other side of the gelo river, right where we left off. Glide straight to the next path, and use a double cube to grab the ledge above, or a Full cube to fully clear it. Speaking of clearing, clear the room of the Bugs occupying the area. Some are awake, some are asleep, whatever, just shoot them! Smash the crates to the left and right of the entry ledge, and then climb up the Gravity Ramp to get to the top of the Gelatonium Pump. Use the bolt crank by pressing Square when on the plate and holding the analog stick at the edge of the circle it's in (if that makes any sense). This will restore the plant's power to 50%. Ignore the announcer's warning again and go through the newly opened door. ***CHECKPOINT*** Smash the lights and then the large stack of crates on the lower ledge, but be wary of the two TNT Crates hidden in them. Walk up the steps to the left of the doorway you walked through. Instead of using gelo, hop into the waterfall to get the Skil Point I Should Have Gone Down In a Barrel. Get back up to the first fall, and then shoot a gelo cube in the top-right corner. Quickly jump on and use it before it falls off the edge due to the flow of the falls. Repeat this for the next one, except make it a double cube before you use it (full cube if you want to clear the ledge completely). At the top, smash the two crate stacks. At the farthest stack. Stand on the edge and then fire out a gelo cube into the moving gelo river. Bounce on it and Glide to the other end (use a double or full cube to get extra clearace. In the next room, shoot the Bugs, then smash the three crate stacks on the left side of the room, then move on to the two on the right side (there are none behind the gelo pump). You may notice some more crates on top of a ledge. You can use the Gelenator to get to the top, or you can jump from on top of the gelo pump. In either case, go to the Bolt Crank besides the pump and use it to make the Gravity Ramp go all the way to the top of the pump. Then use the crank at the top to restore the plant to 100% efficiency. Oh, and to displease Tachyon. In the short cutscene, you may have noticed some of the pump towers having some platform-like objects on them. If you did, nice spotting, we'll use them in a tick. First though, jump down from the pump and use the gelenator one last time to make a cube (double if you want) to get to the top of the ledge. Smash the crates on the left and enter the next room. Empty the Gelenator at the container to open the door and use the elevator to return to the Devices Vendor we saw earlier. On your way down, you'll see a Gold Bolt. If you're quick, you can jump through the gap in the glass and grab the ledge it's sitting on. This isn't reccomended however as it requires you to go through that portion of the secret area again. ***CHECKPOINT*** =Mission 5: Search Cobalia= You may want to look around and see what else this planet has to offer. Once at the bottom, you may notice the bridge is now extended. Cross it, but don't talk to the Smuggler just yet. First, go over this new docking area and smash all of the civ-bots and crates that you can find. This is needed for the A Smashing Good Time Skill Point. While going at it, on a dock to the right of a cave (which we'll explore soon), you'll find another vendor, the Armour Vendor. This guy sells Armour to you, which is very important in your adventures as the enemies get stronger and stronger as you go through the game. Currently for sale is Blackstar Armour, which blocks upto 25% of all damage. You should have about 30,000 bolts if you didn't spend any cash on the new Weapons. I usually buy the armour over the weapons, as they aren't too useful. You'll come across Captain Blackstar later in the game. After purchasing the Armour, head on over to the other side of the port. Smash any civ-bots on the way, then smash all of the crates. ####-GOLD BOLT-################################################################ On the right side, you'll see the rotating platforms on the Pump Towers. Use them to get onto the smoke stack building on the other side. Cross onto the other side of the building (neither side has any reward), then use another pair of platforms to get to hovering plaform with crates on it. Smash them, and then use the next pair of platforms. Halfway on the journe round, jump to a smoke stack and behind it you'll find two more chests of Raritanium. Jump to the next smoke stack and over another pair of platforms. Smash the crates on the walls of the plant, and then use the pair of the pair of... platforms... to get to the other side. Smash two stacks of crates and grab your first Gold Bolt! ############################################################################### Smash the last pile of crates to get the A Smashing Good Time Skill Point. Look to the left a bit to see a strange black cord. [Here you'll experience the invigorating splendour of zip lining. Stand under the zip line and press X to use it.] Zip lines are handy ways to cross large gaps in the game and are sometimes used to get back to an earlier section of the game. Like now! Ziiiiiip! But, before you talk to the Smuggler, note the cave to your right. Go through it to kill a couple of Leviathan Basilisks. The area here is quite simple, shaped like a donut, and there are two island in it that you fight the Leviathans on. First, take out as many enemies on the island as you can from dry land. Then jump on. Quickly kill the remaining enemies before the Leviathan attacks, and then tackle the Leviathan just like you did before. Repeat for the next Island and you'll get a Skill Point, Giant Killer. Don't forget to collect Raritanium after you kill a Leviathan and to smash all the boxes. I'm not your mum. Oh, and don't be afraid to go all the way back to the vendor to pick up some more ammo in the middle of a fight. He'll still be there. And don't forget to get some milk from the dairy. =Mission 6: Hitch a Ride with the Smuggler= Now that the gelatonium pumps have been restored, the Smuggler may be willing to make good on that ride offer. Head out of the cave and around the green ship and speak to the Smuggler. If you want, you can ask about Cobalia, and then Tachyon. It's also ok to ask about Leviathan Souls. HOWEVER, DO NOT SELL THEM YET. The Smuggler offers higher prices when you meet him later in the game, much more than the 2,000 bolts each he's asking for them now. Finally, ask about the ride to be transported to the next planet. Off we go! **Cobalia Skill Points** *A Smashing Good Time: Destroy all crates and consumer robots in the spaceport and gelatonium plant. Should be easy, just play the level and smash everything you see. This is made easier with the Box Breaker, found on Jasindu. *I Should Have Gone Down in a Barrel: Jump into each of the two gelatonium
waterfalls in the Cobala gelatonium Plant. Again, easy Skill Point. Just Jump into the first waterfall at the beginning and the second one after the first Bolt Crank Pump. *Giant Hunter: Kill all the Basilisk Leviathans in the Cobalia wilderness. So long as you went out back to kill the two Basilisk Leviathans, this should be acheived just in the normal course of things. ==================================== =Stratus City, Planet Cortog #SPC= ==================================== Stratus City was once the academic and intellectual capital of the Cerullean Sector. It's famed Hall of Knowledge is said to hold the secrets of the Great War and the history of both Cragmites and Lombaxes, However, the Hall of Knowledge has been under strict imperial guard ever since Tachyon's armies have occupied the city. =Mission 1: Escape Tachyon's Forces= Tachyon's army is on your trail! Fight through the occupied zone to escape. Right off the bat, you're skydiving. However it's a bit harder this time as you must dodge incoming missiles! They can be seen by the purple smoke they make as they fly towards you. NOTE: I sometimes run into a bug here where Ratchet isn't free-falling, rather just falling normally. Using this, it's possible to visit places in the game much much earlier than intended. However, you will still have to dodge the missiles. Once you'll land, you'll hear Drophyds talking about your immenent attack thereon. Head to the vendor, and you'll find a new weapon is available: The Predator Launcher. Kill the Tesla-Drones with the Combustor, smash the Jackpot Crate, and then take out the mechs ahead. After killing the first wave, two more will drop in, one after the other. Kill them all and move on. This is a good time to mention that if you care about upgrading, you'll want to use weapons that generate Raritanium when you destroy enenmies, especially if the weapon itself needs upgrading. Currently the Plasma Beasts, Combustor and the Tornado Launcher all provide Raritanium if modded with at least one Raritanium upgrade. Move up the stairs to see a giant screen of Tachyon spreading propoganda about Ratchet and the 'horrendous' crimes he's commited. Go to the left to find a stash of crates and a Raritanium Chest. Coming up the stairs behind the screen is a new threat: Sheilded Mechs. These cannot be destroyed by the weak attacks of the Combustor or Wrench. Attack them like that, and you'll get this: [Gadgetron admires your persistance, but feels compelled to inform you that your currently selected weapon is ineffective against sheilded enemies. Try a stronger weapon, or wait until the enemy is unsheilded] Do as it says. With the Fusion Grenades or Plasma Beasts, you will need two attacks, one to destroy the sheild, and another for the actual enemy. Alternatively, you can use the Tornado Launcher to suck the enemies right off the ground, or destroy the sheild and then kill the mechs with a different weapon, as they become clawed mechs once the sheilds are destroyed (this is handy if you have run out of or want to conserve Plasma Beast ammo, as Raritanium is only produced when the enemy is killed). After defeating them, go down the stairs they came from and smash all the crates. Buy stuff from the Grummel Combat Device Vendor if you want, as there is now Confuzzler Gas for sale. Confuzzler Gas releases a large cloud of gas that temporarily makes enemies attack each other rather than you! After sealing transactions, head up the stairs and to the stack of Crates blocking your path. Be cautious, as another new opponent makes a dramatic entrance here, the Cyclo-Cannon. This circular vehicle can be tough on low ammo, but they release Raritanium regardless of what weapon you have killed it with. Speaking of which, kill it. Collect your Raritanium and smash the remaining crates, and then pick up a brand new weapon, the Shock Ravager! [The Shock Ravager is an electric whip designed to electrocute enemies. To flog an enemy, press Circle button] This whip-like weapon is great for hitting enemies in a line-like formation, which can be troublesome with the Fusion Grenades. Walk to the bridge and watch it blow up, similar to the one on Novalis six years ago. Cross it, and whip the sheilded enemies making their way across. At the end of the bridge, another Cyclo-Cannon is there to greet you. Blow it up, and then hear a Drophyd Commando complain about you blowing it up. Head inside and, if you want some fun, play around with the physics engine by pushing one of the Cyclo-Cannon wheels into the crate stacks. Smash them whether or not you do this. At the end of the crates, you will see another Tachyon TV, this time of him saying he's sending in more shipments (and warning the Drophyds not to let you blow them up). To the left of this is a red tunnel. Head through it to find a Raritanium Chest. Head out through the tunnel and up the stairs to take on three more Sheilded Mechs. Outside, there will be several Tesla-Drones and Fan-Saucers. Take them out, and then you will have a Dropship send in more shipments. Try to blow it up, and also take out the Mechs that drop in. Smash the crates to the right, and head to the zipline. A Fan-Saucer will warp in, promptly take it out before sliding down the line. Ahead over the gap you'll see your first Versa Target. [The Swingshot is a useful tool for traversing large gaps. Jump towards the Versa-Target, then press and hold Circle to swing. Let go of Circle to land] Simple as that. Jump to the target, where the Swingshot will automatically equip, fire, and then land. If you are a bit nervous about doing a Leap of Faith, you can find the Swingshot in your Quick Select. Hold Triangle and use the Left Analog Stick to select it. Here you'll also find all your other Weapons and Combat Devices. When you gain one, it's automatically added to the next empty slot. The Quick Select has three rings, and you can cycle through them with L1 and R1. You can customise the Quick Select in the Pause Menu. Jump to the Blue Target and use it to get to the other side. Once there, you should notice some ships flying by with Versa-Targets on them. Use them to fly across a good portion of the city. Ratchet will let go automatically for this ride. Smash the crates and activate the Vendor to top up and Mod your Weapons. ***CHECKPOINT*** =Mission 2: Swing through the Docks= Tachyon's forces are still hunting for you. Use your Swingshot skills to get through the shipyard. Walk over the bridge and take out the Cyclo-Cannon, and then on to the Fan-Saucer. Use the Versa-Targets to get to the next platform as two more Saucers warp in. Take them out and move to the left. Smash the Crates to the left, and then climb up the orange ledges. [To grab onto a ledge, simply jump towards it. From there you can use X to access higher ledges, or use the Left Stick to move along the ledge] You can also drop down with R2. Climb up to the top of the ship to find two Mechs and a Saucer. Destroy all three. Watch out for the blue area, it elextrocutes you if you happen to step on it. As you move to the Jump Slot, a Cyclo Cannon will drop down. Take care of this guy too. You'll notice a stack of containers to the left of the Jump Slot. Climb to the top of these and look down to see a long platform with crates and a Raritanium Chest. Jump down and smash them up. Once done, walk back to the circular areaand use the stair of crates on the left to climb back up. Use the Jump Slot to get to the top of the ship. You'll see another Tachyon TV (this time about 'betrayal'), and some Swingshot, err, Saucers (not the Fan-Saucers). These take their time to cross, however it is possible to swing between them. Get to the other side and take out the Tesla-Drones. Destroy the crates on the right and notice a Gelenator logo on the side of the platform. But where is the Dispenser? Turn around and smash the crates near the place the saucers dropped you off to find it. Stock up. But first, walk around the blue area and High Jump on top of the crates. Stretch Jump to the nearby stack, and make a double cube to reach the Raritanium Chest at the top. Make your way back and use the Gelenator (single or double cube) to reach the top. Use the Saucer and the Blue Target to reach the other side. ***CHECKPOINT*** This circular platform can activate a bridge by pressing all of the Tri-Pads. However, that isn't the only way to get across. ***SKILL POINT: We Don't Need No Stinkin' Bridges****************************** At the far end of the circular platform is a small square protrusion. Place a Full Gelenator Cube at the very end of this, walk right to the edge, and leap up into the air. Glide to get to the other side, but be careful of traffic which may get in the way. Skill Point Awarded! ******************************************************************************* Once on the other side, destroy the Tesla-Drones, the Mech, and the appearing Fan-Saucer. A dropship will come in and drop in 6 sheilded enemies. To the right of the bridge you'll see some light-blue lights lighting up some containers. Jump over them to find crates. Jump back over, smash the stack of crates in the place you fought the Mechs, and then place a Gelo cube next to the next pile of containers. Jump up to find another Raritanium Chest. Smash more crates to the far middle, then jump up to the right container pile, smash crates, and Stretch Jump to the far pile for more crates and thus, more cash. Jump back and up the pile you just jump up, leap across, smash more crates, and use the zipline. There will be a giant TV of Tachyon again, informing citizens of the Kerchu workers, and to your left a nice juicy pile of crates. Smash it, and then use the Versa-Target to swing to the other side. =Mission 3: Fly to the Hall of Knowledge= A trio of small, myserious creatures have told Clank to fly to the Hall of Knowledge building. They modified Clank's body with a set of Robo-Wings so that he can get there. Before you fly off, note two things. First, to your lower left, you'll find the ledge the creatures want Clank to get to, but you'll need an alternate route. To the right, you'll see Drophyd Mechs on a raising platform. We will get to both of these areas in due time. First, use the Robo-Wings to guide Ratchet around the Hall of Knowledge to an entrance. Just point the controller to where you want to go. Be careful near the end as you have to go further than you might think. =Mission 4: Explore Stratus City= Stratus City is rumoured to have many treasures hidden amongst it's floating docks and buildings. Try using your Robo-Wings to explore the city, and you may find some of these treasures. To start, head back from where you just landed and find another Launch-Pad. @@@-HOLO-PLAN-@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Press Select to activate your Map. Around the building you are on you will see a Launch Pad logo. Exit the map and fly around the building to it, by flying right and passing the two protruding walls. Once you've landed, take out the three Hover-Saucers and continue forward. If you want the Skill Point Surface to Air Plasma Beasts, kill these guys with Plasma Beasts. If you don't have the weapon yet, return to this spot when you do. Smash the crates and go right and destroy all the Tesla-Drones. Smash the small stack of crates and then to find the Holo-Plan. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ [You have discovered a peice of the Gadgetron Holo-Plan! Holo-Plans are the property of the Gadgetron Corporation, and are to be considered classified] @@@-HOLO-PLAN (CONTINUED)-@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ Turn right again and destroy the Drophyd Mechs, then another small crate stack. Take another right and head out the door. If you came here via the walkthrough, fly back to the Hall of Knowledge Entrance. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ ###-GOLD BOLT-################################################################# From the Hall of Knowledge Entrance, use your map to find two Launch-Pad in close vicinity to each other on the edge of a citcular building, marked as a dark blue circle (it's in the middle of the map). Fly there using the Robo-Wings counter clockwise around the Hall of Knowledge. Once past the first wall, fly straight past the second wall and look for a platform with a walkway going right, and above to the left, another plaform hidden slightly by a building. Land on the lower one. Turn right to find a Raritanium Chest. Continue around the circular walkway and destroy the Tesla-Drones and the Hover-Saucer, into the next room. Destroy the Sheilded Mechs, up the ramp, smash Raritanium Chest, up more ramp. Note the Launch-Pad to your right, but continue up the ramp to the Cyclo-Drone. Destroy it, and move on to the other one up top. Into the next room is a shiny Gold Bolt! ############################################################################### Use the Launch Pad at the top to fly back to the Hall of Knowledge. ***-SKILL POINT: Been Around-************************************************** To get this Skill Point, you need to launch off from all 11 Robo-Wing Launch-Pads in the city. Start from the Pad near your ship (or where you landed from the sky-dive). Take off and fly up to the Pad at the entrance to the Hall of Knowledge. From here, take off and fly to the right. Fly over the broken bridge, and to the right end of the zip-line (this also happens to be the top). Be careful of incoming traffic. From this Launch-Pad. Fly right a bit and over the circular structure. Land on the floating platform over the far end of it. From here, take off and follow the traffic right. After passing the second tower on your right, fly past the platform by taking a right turn, following the bridge-thing, and under the saucers holding Versa-Targets. On the other side is the next Launch Pad. Don't worry about the Versa-Targets in the way, Ratchet will fly right through them. If you're not confident in your flying skills, you can land in front of the Saucers and cross them normally. Here, take off once more and fly at the sharpest pitch up as you can, taking a sublte left. You'll find your next pad on top of the circular platform (you'll see the bottom of it stick down from the top-left of the screen as you take off). You may need to destroy some Teasla-Drones before you can do this. Look over the edge in the direction the pad is pointing and find the blue square on top of the ship closest to you. Fly over it and directly down, where you'll find the next pad right on the end of a docking bridge. Standing on the pad and having Ratchet look in the direction it's pointing, turn the camera to face the right and see a distant group of containers and a zip line. Head here, and fly to where the zip line ends. Behind the Tachyon TV is the next Pad. To your right you'll see two similar looking gold domes. Fly around the dome of the farthest one (you can see through it's bottom archway), and land on the circular platform with the next pad. From here, take off and fly down to the left to another pad. From here, right in the direction the pad is pointing, is a platform with the final launch pad. Take off from it to get the Skill Point! To get back to the Hall of Knowledge entrance from here, take off from the last pad, turn left, and follow the building on your left. The entrance will be past the second wall on your left. You can also land on the Launch Pad you find below to your right (the first one we took from) and fly straight up. ******************************************************************************* =Mission 5: Explore the Hall of Knowledge= The creatures that Clank saw want him to find something inside the Hall of Knowledge. Explore the building and evade Tachyon's defences to discover why the creatures sent you here. If you're not looking for extras here, I apologise for the wall of text. Head inside the building and turn left to smash crates. Turn right to access a vendor. Top up and enter the water. Don't worry, Clank doesn't rust, and neither will any of your weapons. [To dive underwater, press Square. While swimming, you can return to the surface by pressing X, or dive further by pressing Square] Dive underwater. Move Ratchet under the mines as the announcer gives you a warning. Smash the crates here and move on to the next room. Just at the ledge to the next pool a Cyclo-Cannon will drop in. Destroy it and hop in the water. [To swim faster, engage your Hydro-Pack by holding down R1] Before you dive, look around the edges of the pool to see three ledges. To get to the next area, you will have to press all three before the timer runs out. Go to one of the closer ones and make your way around, with the aid of the Hydro-Pack, to the other two. Stretch Jumping off the ledges to the next button helps out too. A door will open in the middle of the pool when all three buttons are lit. Power your way through the water-hall to the next area. Hop out and destroy all the Tesla-Drones in the middle and hidden to the left, and then the crates on the right. Now look to the next area. Don't worry about the large jelly-fish in the water, they won't hurt you. Dive down to find some crates underwater, some of which 'guard' a Raritanium chest. To destroy the crates, touch one of the TNT ones and wait for them to blow the stash up. Once all three are detonated, return to the surface. To figure out where to go next, turn the bolt crank in the middle of the pool. This will send out a sonic signal to the jellyfish, making them rise to the surface. ###-GOLD BOLT-################################################################# To the left of the dish making the sonic noises, you'll see a static jellyfish and a ledge high above. To get here, jump on the jellyfish to the right and shoot some Gelenator Cubes on the one below the ledge. If your Gelenator isn't full, you can kill Ratchet by diving back and killing him via the mines (you can't go back right to the entrance). You'll respawn at the entrance. Use the Launch-Pad to find the dispenser in the docks. Back-track out of the Hall and use the Robo-Wings to fly back. Once the cube is in place, use it to leap to the top and nab your second Gold Bolt! ############################################################################### To the right of the sonic dish you'll see some yellow bars and a jellyfish moving in front of it. Jump on the jelly and climb up the bars. Climb up some more bars and down the tunnel. Stop at the edge. You can't get back here for a bit, so make sure to get this right. Jump across to the other tunner to get the Raritanium Chest. Then jump down. Fight off some Cragmite forces, watch the cutscene, and you're off to... Fastoon? Note that you can't come back here until you get a proper ship. For now, off to Fastoon. **Skill Points** *Wrench Ninja 3: Use only the wrench to get to the level. More specifically, it means the first part of the level up until the Robo-Wing pad Clank saw the Zoni on. You don't have to kill all the enemies, just skip past as many as you can and don't use any weapons but the Wrench. *We Don't Need No Stinkn' Bridges!: Cross the tri-pad sequence using gel cube bounces. This is the donut-like platform near the end of the docks area. You can also Robo-Wing from the start of the level to take a shortcut to the back area where the containers are. Land on top of a pile and use the Thruster Pack to get to the other side. If you activated the bridge, re-load your current save and start over *Surface-to-Air Plasma Beases: Take out 3 flying targets using the Plasma Beasts. Best done at the secret area where you find the Holo-Plan. *Been Around: Take off from every Robo-Wing launch pad in Stratus City. For a guide to each and every one, look for it just before Mission 5. ===================================== =Lombax Ruins, Planet Fastoon #LPF= ===================================== Planet Fastoon was once the home world of the Lombax race. The planet was ravaged by war years ago and is now entirely abandoned. The location of the surviving Lombaxes remains one of the galaxy's great mysteries. Fastoon is now occupied solely by scavengers who hunt for scraps of Lombax Technology. =Mission 1: Explore the Lombax City= You have landed in the ruins od what was once a Lombax city. There may be clues about what happened here on the planet's surface. After the (quite amusing) cutscene upon arrival, you will begin to play. Looking around, it is plainly seen that this place is more messy than my bedroom on a Sunday. Head over the the Vendor and make any purchases you need. There are no new weapons for sale today. Around the landing pad are two box-like objects. These are breakables. Jump up to the ledge above as Clank notes the landscape. Use the Swingshot to cross the large gap and walk over to the strange ship which appears to have crash landed. =Mission 2: Find the Lombax Ship Parts= You have found a damaged Lombax spaceship. Search the ruined city and find the necessary parts to repair the ship. [A virtual diagnostic of this spaceship confirms six missing parts necessary for intergalactic travel. Happy hunting!] So after that tough mission, you have to explore the ruins in order to repair the ship you just found. Start off by heading behind you and to the right to smash a large stack of crates over a small gap (note that the lights around the ship you found are breakables). Smash the crates to reveal a Raritanium Chest behind them. After collectiong your booty, turn around and head up the cliff path to your right. Smash the crates on your way up. Here you'll find three strange enemies. The Red ones like to run at you and bash you with their clubs, while the Yellow ones appear to throw these green bombs at you. Both enemies are surprisingly tough for this part of the game and don't offer as much experience as you'd like. Don't be surprised or afraid to find yourself making constant trips back to the Vendor on this Planet. Nonetheless, you must get going. Kill the enemies and head up the ledge. Kill the three red enemies. You'll see a strange object sticking out of the ground. This spawns red enemies, so it's imperative to take this out before you have hope of finishing a particular fight. Take it out as you dodge the spawning enemies. After you've done so, take out the remaining enemies and move forward to smash the crates. Kill the two bombers and head up the ledge to find a Lombax Flight Component. Before heading down the zipline, note that heading to this U-shaped area is the best way to safely get back to your ship, as opposed to the risky option of using the Swingshot target. Head down the big trench the ship made on 'landing' and kill the clubbers, bombers and the spawner. Head up the gear statue to the left of the trench, taking down two clubbers on the way. At the top you'll find another Component, a Jackpot Crate and a Raritanium Chest. Collect the Component first, then quickly smash the Jackpot Crate and then the Chest. Head down the zipline to the large stash of crate. Smash them all before your Jackpot Bonus runs out. Use your Fusion Grenades to help smash the crates extra fast. Jump back down. Behind you is a small tunnel to a Raritanium Mine. We'll be heading in here later. For now, continue down the right edge of the large canyon and take out the two bombers, the spawner, and any spawned clubbers. Turn around and to the same with the group ahead near the Gravity Ramp. Around about now you'll need to restock on ammo, so head back to the Vendor and stock up. On your way to the Vendor, to the right, is a stash of crates to smah. Yay! Head back here and go up the Grav-Ramp. As you do, you'll get a message: [Congratulations! You've received an interstellar Holo-vite from...] The alias used here is randomly picked from the following: [Stefan Qwarkanopolis] [Finnegan O'Qwarksalot] [Walter Qwarkowski] [Hesrchel Qwarkenstein] [John Quincy Qwark] [Lucius Von Qwark] [Shirley Bigguns] Oh dear, who could that be? Sadly (or fortunately), you don't have the means to play the Holo-vite at the moment. Continue up the ramp to the top. Take out more clubbers and smash more boxes. Follow the path around, smashing the stack on the left wall, to two Bombers and take them out. Collect your third Flight Component. Turn left, jump down and head back to the large canyon. Walk to the edge and look to the left and you'll see some Versa-Targets. Before you go over there you should know that you'll be fighting a TON of enemies over there, so stock up on ammo back at the Vendor if you need to. If you get in trouble and are low on health during that fight the Vendor will also stock up your health. When you get over there, find and take out the Spawning Towers ASAP. Not doing so will result in many, MANY clubbers going after you, making the battle difficult. There are two towers, to the left and right sides of the staircase. The Fusion Grenades should suffice for the Towers. As for the enemies themselves, the Shock Ravager is of great use here. If you run low on ammo, head up the staircase and smash the ammo crates in the far right corner. Once the battle is over, go up the staircase for your 4th Flight Component. Use the Meteor Pad to get over the canyon and head left past the gear structure and through the archway to the left. Four clubbers and two bombers will be inside. There are some crates and a large pool inside. As Ratchet suggests, jump into the pool and head down. Swim down the tube avoiding the grating and the mines until you are inside the cave-lake with lakeweed and underwater ledges. To your left is a dead-end which you'll fall into later. For now, swim right and emerge at the end. Jump up and take out the two clubbers before jumping into the next pool. It isn't nessecary to dive here, although it may be helpful in spotting the mines at the corner. Swimming at the surface of the water means only dealing with the top mine. Either way, dodge it/them and head around the corner. In an inlet on the left wall is another Flight Component. Head further on and to the left again is a Raritanium Chest. After collecting the good head up the ledge and smash the Stalag-whatsits (they take two swings of the Wrench. If you turn around you'll see an upper area, however you cannot get there. Yet. Jump through the Stalagies into the pool. Dive down and take a U-turn to the right and go back through the tunnel to hop out at the end. Now it's to the Raritanium Mine. Head out the archway and head right and under the high ledge to the barrel-looking thing with a hole in it. Press Triangle to send Clank in. =Mission 3: Search the Mine= The mysterious creatures have appeared again. This time they want Clank to explore an abandoned Raritanium mine. Explore the caverns to discover more about these strange creatures and what they want from Clank. ***CHECKPOINT*** You'll start off surrounded by three of the creatures, called Zoni. Press and hold Triangle to activate the Command Menu. Select the top, active option, Follow, and the Zoni will wake up. Their mysical power will also activate the pressure platform ahead. Step on it to open the large door and walk through. [Hold R1 to slow time.] The Zoni will point out that the door will be no threat so long as you can slow time. Standing on the button, waiting for the door to reach the top, and running to it normally will be too slow. Stand on the button, and then Press and hold Triangle to slow time (and thus, the music, heheh!). Dash over through the door with ease. If you still have trouble, jump constantly on your way there, as the leap causes Clank to move faster. Ahead you'll see a Tri-Pad and some crystals. These are Raritanium Crystals, which Clank can smash to collect more Raritanium for Ratchet to upgrade his weapons with. There will also be a small stach of crates around the right corner and the Raritanium Ore. [Select "Levitate" from the Zoni Quick Select.] Before using the Tri-Pad, practice using the Levitate function a couple of times to get used to the small gap in reaction time and the duration levitation lasts for, and also that you have to wait until Clank is in the air before moving. Once you are used to it, stand on the Tri-Pad, cross the gap, and stand on the other two to open the door to the right. It shouldn't be nessecary to slow down time. Smash the Ore on the wall and behind the second Tri-Pad before heading through the door. You'll see some bashers up ahead, classic Indie stuff. Slow down time to pass through them, then kill the Clubber up ahead (slowing down time will make the fight a peice of cake). Notice how the Zoni help out with their own enery bombs. Look through the grating fence on the edges here to see the lake Ratchet was swimming in earlier. Head through and pass the bashers behind you and smash the crates, leaving no bolt unaccounted for. Be careful at the ledge here as you have not yet hit a Checkpoint, and Clank, being metal, cannot swim or use his Hydro-Pack without Ratchet. Turn right and through the pathway. Stand at the edge here and Levitate Clank across the gap. If you're inconfident, stand at the edge and activate it. Remember that since the Zoni can travel through time, slowing it down will not make the Levitation last longer (in other words, it always lasts 3 seconds in real time no matter how much you slow down time in the game). The next section is tricky. Slow down time and wait until the third, farthest basher have made contact, then activate the Quick Select (it has a pause when you use it), Levitate while still slowing down time, and float across. Smash the crates around the right corner and then take out the Bombers up the stairs. Slow down time and cross the treadmills without touching the electrifies spikes conveniently placed on them, and into the next area. [Select "Manipulate" from the Zoni Quick Select to repair the elevator.] Do as it says and selct the option from the Quick Select (it's the one on the left). Before heading up, smash the crates and ore on the right wall. Head up the elevator. Kill the Bombers and Clubbers and smash the ore on the walls. If you try and repair the next elevator, the Zoni tell you you need more ([Need more Zoni! Look around and you are sure to find more.]). Just ahead, next to some crates, are five more. Wake them up with Follow and head back to the blue circle cloud things to fix the elevator. Use it to get to the top. [Select "Manipulate" from the Zoni Quick Select to take apart this wall.] Indeed, you can actually take apart this wall. Use Manipulate to have all 8 of your Zoni take apart the wall and go through it. ***CHECKPOINT*** At last a Checkpoint! Smash the boxes to the left on the end, and gaze down to the last treadmills you crossed. Head over to the next set. Slow down time and cross the first two. Cross to the next one (dodging the spikes of course), and head down. The next jump is tricky. What you have to do is activate the Quick Select as Clank is going down the end curve of the treadmill, then activate Levitate to float across (all the while holding R1 to slow down time). This may take a few goes, so don't get annoyed if you fail this the first two or three times. Go over to the end in slo-mo and jump across (there's a gap between the treadmill and the ledge). Kill the Bomber and two Clubbers here, but don't use the Tripads yet. If you look around you'll only find two Tripads. Head to the blue smoke balls and use Manipulate to pull apart the old engine in the centre to reveal the missing pad. Activate the pads (slowing time if needed), and then go to the railing on the right side to smash the Raritanium Ore. Pass through the door. =Mission 4: Repair the Lombax Ship= You have all the parts you need to repair the Lombax spaceship. Return to the ship and repair it before Tachyon's armies track you down.. After the cutscene, revealing a terrible threat, Clank will collect the last Flight Component. [According to our database, you now have all the parts necessary to restore your ship to working order. Thanks for using Gadgetron's Virtual Diagnostic Service. Your account will be billed within three working days] Don't worry about the bill, instead smash the crates and ore on the right curved wall. Head down the sloped on the left and smash the ore to the sides of just before the elevator. After this, head down the elevator back to Ratchet by going back through the barrel (to the right). Back outside, head down the trench the spaceship made to the left to play the cutscene. If you press Triangle here then walk up to the ship, you'll find out that her name is Aphelion. Talk to her to find out what happened here, what Drophyds are, why Tachyon is against Lombaxes, ask where the Lombaxes are, and to see if she can play the Holo-Vite you received earlier on in the level. All but the last one are needed, however the other questions will give you answers as to the backstory. After the Holo-Vite has played, use Aphelion's (ridiculously cool) map system to head to Planet Mukow. You can also head back to the previous planets you have visited in case you missed something you wanna get. You cannot return to Metropolis back on Kerwan, however, as 1) it's in another galaxy, and 2) There actually are no Gold Bolts, Holo-Plans or Planet-Specific Skill Points there. ============================ =Voron Asteroid Belt #VAB= ============================ Planet Mukow lies on the other side of space pirate territory. You'll have to battle your way through their fighters if you want to escape with your booty intact! =Mission: Battle the Space Pirates= Planet Mukow lies on the other side of space pirate territory. You'll have to battle your way through their fighters if you want to escape with your booty intact. This is a pretty simple mission, and really can be completed easily, however, this is a definitive guide, so for those in trouble, it's here for ya. The Gold Bolt here is also acquired via shooting the five special targets, so the guide will cover this as well. After the initial cutscene with Captain Blackstar, you'll be set to battle the pirates here. Use the Left Stick to move the ship and the Right Stick to push the aiming cursor around (this is great as you don't have to break aim to dodge enemy fire. Use L2 and R2 to "Do a barrel roll!!!". R1 fire the primary laser fire, while L1 will target and lock on to enemies with the torpedo launcher. Release L1 to release the torpedoes, great for groups of enemies. You'll get a helpdesk message explaining the controls. Fly past the nebulae and shoot the first five waves of enemies. Through the red nebulae is the first Special Target you need to shoot. Realise now that the cursor does not fire at distant targets accurately. When you getthe target a large pirate ship will fly in overhead. Shoot the three targets on it's sides, and keep moving to dodge their laser beams. As you fly past the ship, more waves of fighters will move in. You'll also see triangular cubes floating about. These contain Raritanium, and you get a Skill Pointfor shooting them all. More fighters will fly in as Ratchet pilots Aphelion into the asteroid belt. Shoot the three Raritanium Prisms as Ratchet flies over the belt. A large bomber will fly over and shoot missiles at you. Use the torpedoes to cut off a chunk of his health before finishing him off with lasers. [You can auto-lock onto enemy targets by pressing and holding L1. Release L1 to launch a devastating attack!] You already know this, so shoot down the next two formations and past the small moon. Quickly shoot the two Raritanium Prisms before you fly past them. [Fly through the nanotech induction rings to restore full integrity] Basically fly through the rings with the shiny lights to repair Aphelion. Also note that they've misspelt full as hull. Anyways, remember that you are able to skip right past the rings, so if you want it, you have to properly direct Aphelion through it. After restoring health, shoot the mine, fighters and the Special Target up the top, before Ratchet flies into the Asteroid Belt (sideways, no less). Shoot as many mines as you can here to earn a Skill Point, Minesweeper (not related to the classic Windows game). Navigate through the mines and energy rings, and at the end of it all, shoot the Special Target. A few more fighters (and a bomber) before you go through the Health Ring and Ratchet sends Clank onto Aphelion's Turret. Here, you'll have to be aware of the Raritanium Prisms that appear at the top of the screen when you fly out of the asteroid belt. Shoot down the fighters (and the Special Target that'll appear on the bottom-right), but for the Skill Point, concentrate on the Prisms as you exit. Once a good way out, you'll control Ratchet heading past another ship. Shoot the turrets, but they really pose little threat. After this, Ratchet will fly through the belt and into the planet-rock. Hidden behind the bottom-right edge (as you fight more erm, figters) will be the final Special Target. As you make your way through the tunnel, Blackstar will talk about Puffy Pants Wallace, the boss up ahead. When you go through the three health rings, note the red nebulae to the left. Aphelion talks about a hostage signal ahead. Then Puffy Pants Wallace will appear. +++-BOSS FIGHT: PUFFY PANTS WALLACE++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Puffy Pants isn't all that hard. Each stage in the fight is seperated by when PP lunges forward and roars. Each stage alternates in attack methods; one when he uses his Razor Disk and another where he fires a round of missiles. These are easy to tackle. For the Razor Disk, the Disk will position itself next to where Aphelion is and then strike across to the other side. Just move out of the way when this happens. The Missiles are also easy, they are certain shots of 4 missiles each. Just keep moving across the screen. By the third and final Stage Puffy Pants will fire a giant laser from his mouth. A Stage will repeat until you knock PP's health down to the next quarter, with Stage 3 taking up the last half. The final quarter will also randomly choose an attack method. Throughout the stage all you really have to do is keep moving and shooting and you'll beat him eventually. Once you do, you'll be awarded with any Skill Points you got and be able to proceed to Mukow! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ **Skill Points** *Collector's Addition: Destroy all the Raritanium Prisms. There are several of these in the level. Three after the first large ship, three more upon reaching the asteroid belt, two when you break away past the planet-rock, two when Clank starts using the turret (as you pull up and away from the asteroid belt), *Minesweeper: Clear out 10-15 mines. In the Asteroid Belt Sections is where you'll be able to find the Mines. *What's That, R2?: Barrel Roll 10 times. It doesn't matter what you do, just do 10 Barrel Rolls ============================================== =Imperial Fight Festival, Planet Mukow #IPM= ============================================== The Imperial Fight Festival is an exclusive resort for Emperor Tachyon's most elite troops. Emperor Tachyon has been known to lure his enemies to Planet Mukow, only to force them to fight to their deaths for the amusement of his troops. =Mission 1: Explore the Festival= Search the fairground to discover what prizes lay hidden in Tachyon's carnival of pain. When you start the level you'll be taking a look at the gloom and doom of Mukow. As you smash the two crates to your left, Quark will tell you to meet him in the arena for some important info. Note the zipline above where Ratchet started. We'll attend to this later on. For now, head up the path. Smash the crates on the left and head through the archway. You'll arrive in a fountainyard with an Armour Vendor to your right. Currently there is no new armour for sale. Head to the right and destroy the Tesla-Drones. To your left you'll see a pathway blocked by a forcefeild. Walk up to it to find that to open it, you need to find all six Tachyon Statues hidden in the level. There's a small stack of crates to the right of this forcefeild. Head to the right (clockwise around the fountain) to find the first one. Be wary as the larger purple statue behind it has flamethrower eyes. Smash the crates to the left of it. Near the archway next to the fountain is a Combat Device Vendor. Stock up if needed. Continue clockwise to find the second statue on the plantation to your right. Turn around to see a stack of crates. Smash them and walk away from the fountain. Across the small gap are a bunch of TNT Crates. Use the Comet Strike (Hold L2 and press Square) to detonate them. Stretch Jump over, destroy the Tesla-Drones, and collect Statue #3. Behind the large coloum are some more crates to smash. Look up from here to the left to spot the large building. This is the Imperial Fight Festival Arena. We'll get there later. Stretch Jump back. Continue clockwise once more to the Weapons Vendor. The Shard Reaper is now for sale. This weapon shoots out a bunch of shards that stick into enemies, and the damage works much like a shotgun: The closer the enemy is, the more damage it'll take. Purchase it if you want. Destroy the Tesla-Drones to your left, but don't continue down the path just yet. Head back and turn left, where a Statue is floating in fron of a Tachyon TV (this time he's reciting a poem). Destory the stacks of crates and Tesla-Drones nearby. As you wal to the forcefield, you'll get this: [You need a gadget that is not found on this planet] The gadget in question is the Decryptor, and you will not be able to get it until later in the game. For now, turn right and go past the archway you came through to get here. On the end of the wall is a small ledge. Jump on it and face the tall wall to your left, and Boost Jump up to the fifth Statue. Look over from here to see the final statue on top of the fountain. Head over there and jump up. You don't have to actually get on top as you collect the statue when you get near it. Now that you have all six Statues, head back to the forcefield, now to your left. =Mission 2: Trail of Turning Terror= You found the Tachyon Statues and have unlocked his Trail of Turning Terror. Survive the rides and you may win a prize. The Forcefeild will deactivate as soon as you walk up to it. Make you way down the Gravity Tube and avoid the saws. You know, because they're sharp and all. There are also rotating sections as well. At the end you'll see a rotating Versa-Ride. Use it to cross over to the other pier. Smash the crates and use the Meteor Pad. Smash the stack of crates near the steps and head up them. Jump onto a platform on the Ferris Wheel, but don't ride it all the way 'round. Instead, jump over to the ledge that appears on the right side of the screen. Here you'll find three Rariranium Chests and a stack of crates, and on the one nearby, two more Chests and a couple more boxes. @@@-HOLO-PLAN-@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ The lone box in front of the two cests contains your second Holo-Plan! @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ After collecting the goods, head back up the staircase. Hop onto the Ferris Wheel and ride it around to the other side. Unless you're going for the Skill Point, don't worry about getting hit. As you near the end, a Drophyd makes an amusing report of readying the Tesla Drones and locking down the teacups. ***-SKILL POINT: I THINK I'M GONNA BE SICK-************************************ For this Skill Point, you need to ride the Ferris Wheel 5 times, or 5 full rotations on the Ferris Wheel, without getting hit once. Jump onto a platform and walk to the right edge of it to avoid Obstacle 1. Jump to the next platform after it has passed through Obstacle 1, and as your plaform makes it's way up, jump off to the right as it heads towards Obstacle 3 and to Obstacle 2. Another platform will pass through it and allow you to land. As you get to the top of the wheel, jump down to the lower platform before the one you're on now passes through Obstacle 3 at the top of the Wheel. To dodge the Obstacle 5 (Obstacle 4 is no problem), jump back onto the platform you just left before hitting Obstacle 5. Repeat this method 5 times to get the Point! ******************************************************************************* Once you get off, smash the crates to the right and the Chest to the left. Head forward to the next Versa-Ride. Once on the other side, you can look back down to get a good view of the area. Note the large amount of ships in the air. Head forward and smash the crates here. ###-GOLD BOLT-################################################################# Hit the Jackpot Crate first and blow up the crates with the Fusion Grenades. Quickly collect the bolts and head Left down the railing. Ignore and enemies and go to the far end. Jump over the railing and blow up the three Chests here. If your Jackpot lasted long enough, you'll get double the Raitanium you'd normally would! Oh, and a Gold Bolt too, that's nice as well! Head back over the railing to continue the level. ############################################################################### In the lower area, destroy the Tesla-Drones here. There's a new Shock Slapper enemy here. As he's electrocuted, your Shock Ravager will not work on it. If you do, Clank will say [Electrical attacks are useless against an electrified enemy, Ratchet. Try a different weapon.] To the left of the ledge you jumped off are two large piles of crates. The bigger one has a Metal Crate in the corner up top (you may have encountered one on Fastoon). It can only be destroyed by explosives. Fortunately, there's a TNT Crate under it. At the top level are two Drophd Laser Mechs. Head through the final Gravity Tunnel to head to the end of the Trail. This is more complicated than the first one, because it involves small gaps and more rotating sections. But, with skill you can get to the end without getting hit. At the end is your prize: A pair of Charge Boots!! Charge Boots are extremely handy for traverseing large portions of terrain. [Double-tap R2 to propel yourself forward using your new Charge Boots] My thoughts exactly. Smash the three stacks of crates to the left, middle and right of the Gravity Ramp, destroying the three Tesla-Drones here as well. Head over to the left side of the Ramp to use the zip-line and read right back to your ship! =Mission 3: Find Qwark= There's a good chance Qwark is at the Coliseum. His ego craves an audience and the main event will be sure to have one. Head through the archway outside your ship and head to the right of the fountain, past the Tachyon TV. Head up the path and use the Versa-Target to cross the gap enter the Challenger Entrance. Smash the crates in the lower area ahead of you and then destroy the Tesla-Drones. Heading forward, a Shock Slapper will reveal itself. Destroy it before it does too much harm to you. Cross the bridge with the fire statues guarding it and smash the crates in the far right corner. Turn left and destroy the Sheilded Drophyds ahead and on the above ledge. Turn back and follow the path to a Jump Slot. Jump up it (well what elase could you do?) to get to the top. Pressing the button in the middle opens the door ahead, but also release two more Shock Slappers. After destroying them proceed through the door and use the Meteor Pad. Up to, head anti-clockwise around the ring and destroy the Shock Slapper and crates ahead. Destory the TNT crates on the ledge above with a ranged weapon. Jump up to find two stacks of crates and between them two Raritanium Chests. Smash all of them and head to the other side of this area. Destroy the TNT crates on the ledge and hop back down. Jump over the gap and continue forwards to the peir with the zip-line. ###-GOLD BOLT-################################################################# From this pier, turn left to see a bridge. Jump down to it, dodge the Fire Statues, and then collect the Gold Bolt at the end (mind the gap in the middle of the bridge). Jump on the square bit at the end of the bridge and Stretch Jump your way to the other side to continue. ############################################################################### Use the zip-line to travel to the next section. ***CHECKPOINT*** Destory the Tesla-Drones here and head right to a Vendor. Stock up, buy and purchase if needed, then proceed back and up the staircase. Destroy the crates and Drophyds up the top here. As you do, more will flow down the stairs on the right futher up the path. Kill them, obviously. To the right of the staircase are two more Drophyds on top of a ledge. Unless you want to get the Raritanium in the next Skill Point, kill them with the Omniwrench, as explosions and the voltage shock from the Ravager will destroy the Crates, and once you do, the crates won't appear again if you leave the level (which you'll have to do to progress in the story). ###-GOLD BOLT-################################################################# ***-SKILL POINT: ONE HECKUVA PEEPHOLE****************************************** ***-NEEDED GADGET: GEO-LASER-*** From the top of this ledge, hop down on the left side. You'll see a bunch of Staggies acting like Jail Bars. Inside you'll see 4 Raritanium Chests and a Gold Bolt. To get inside, you'll need the Geolaser, acquired later on in the game. Use it cut down the Staggies and get the goods, as well as the Skill Point! *******************************************************************************
###############################################################################
Continue up the staircase on the left, avoiding the Fire Statue, and smash the
crates and Tesla-Drones up top. Hop up the ledge for more drones, and the wall
ahead will be blown down by to Shock Slappers. Destroy them and head through as
two Drophyds will warp in. Blow them up and three more will warp in ahead. Go
around the corner and two doors will open. The one closer to you will release a
Shock Slapper, and the farther one releases Drophyds. Destroy all of them.
Behind the doors are crates, and there are more scattered around the end of the
path before the Fire Statues. Beyond them are two more Drophyds. Destroy them
and proceed to the Bridge.
***-SKILL POINT: FAST AND THE FIERY-OUS-***************************************
***NEEDED GADGET: CHARGE BOOTS***
Arguably the toughest Skill Point in the game. To get this, you need to Charge
Boot from one end of the bridge to another without getting hit. In reality,
it's more like charge past all three Fire Statues without getting hit. Going
from one end to the other is nearly impossible, so another method is needed.
bmoney's strategy is to go beyond the range of the first Statue (thus
activating statues 2 and 3), and then time your Charge so that you walk
backwards into the path of the first Statue and then charge right past the
second and third ones (bmoney's method is taken from PS2Marinerfan's Skill
Point Guide).
Note that when if you die here, you'll respawn at the previous vendor. Also
beware that going beyond the archway will cause a forcefield to appear and
block your access to the bridge unless you go back to the entrance again.

After crossing the bridge, destroy the Tesla-Drones, Shock Slapper and
Drophyd's here, then stock up at the Vendor before taking on the arena by using
the teleporter.
=Mission 4: Win the Coliseum Battles=
The only way to find out what Qwark is up to is to win the Coliseum battles and
recieve the price from the emcee himself.
This first fight is relatively simple. Shooting the waves of enemies is simple,
plus in the arena there are far too many enemies to count up, so this section
of the guide will be relatively simple. If you're looking to upgrade your
weapons, now is a great time to do it. There will be a special round where you
have to fight Crushto. He's a simple boss, and once you beat him you'll get the
Heli-Pods, as well as an Infobot Qwark gives you.
=Misson 5: Return to the Aphelion=
Qwark has given you an encoded message. You should be ale to play the message
on the holo-screen of your ship, the Aphelion.
If you'd like, you can compete in the Arena Challenges for extra bolts, but
no matter what you'll choose, you'll be warped to the back door of the Fight
Festival Arena.
[This door can be opened with your newly acquired Heli-pods. Simply fire out a
Helipod to open it]
The glowing, yellow-ringed target ahead is a Heli-Target. Equip the Heli-pods
and fire one out to when the aimer is over the Target. The Heli-pod will lift
the door up. Notice that after about 7 seconds the Heli-pod starts to sway, and
10 seconds into it the Heli-pod disintergrates. In the door's case, it will
stay up, however doing so at the platform ahead will cause it to drop down. At
the top of the ledge is a teleporter to get you back to Aphelion to play
Qwark's Infobot.
[Completing Arena Challenges is an effective way to win bolts and prizes.
Returning gladiators are always welcome!]
If you want to get back to the arena, there's a taxi near here
to take you back up.
=Mission 6: Fight for Cash Prizes (Part 1)=
The Imperial Fight Festival offers bolts and other prizes for winning battles.
It's a good opportunity to earn bolts and raise your nanotech and weapon
levels.
This Mission cannot be completed on your first visit here, that is why it is
last.

=Rogar Tournament #RGT=
=========================
This Arena Guide will be a helpful hand to the Arena Challenges. This is the
first of two parts, as you return here later on in the game with new Challenges
to compete in. Each Challenge is numbered to aid in completing them. There are
two parallel sets of Challenges, A and B, so the the first Challenge of set A
is A1, and the second Challnge set B is B2. The first two Challenges are under
#. The flow chart is as follows:
A1--A2--A3
/
#1--#2=
\
B1--B2--B3
Remember that if you're having trouble completing challenges, you can come back
later with better weapons, armour and health. After a round ends, all loose
bolts in the area wil head over to you, so don't worry about having to fetch
them before the round ends. When you start a round, your Health and Ammo are
also topped up. To quit a round, Pause and select Leave Arena.
=#1: Noobius Maximus=
Prize: 1,000 bolts (no prize for first attempt)
Emperor Tacyon demands excellence! Prove you're worthy by surviving 3 rounds!
Quite easy, no tips here.
=#2: Introducing Crushto=
Prize: 5,000 (No bolt prize on first attempt, replaced with Infobot and
Heli-pods)
Take down one of the galaxy's most feared gladiators!
+++BOSS FIGHT: CRUSHTO+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Crusto is a simple boss, just keep moving and keep shooting. If he looks like
he's about to suck or blow, stand in the middle and be prepared to either be
sucked in or blown off the arena. If you're sucked in, shake the SIXAXIS to
free Ratchet.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
=A1: Deadlines are Brutal=
Prize: 4,000 bolts
Rounds: 5
Emperor Tachyon demands efficincy! Defeat all the gladiators before time runs
out! This Challenge has a 120 second time limit, but is still simple. Just
watch out for the saws, as they have now been activated.
=A2: The Lightning Round=
Prize: 8,000 bolts
Rounds: 3
Eliminate all the enemies using only your trusty Shock Ravager! This round
should be simple, however if you haven't been using the Ravager much, there's a
handy exploit you can use: use the Wrench! The Wrench should be up to speed to
compete in this round, and can get handy if you find yourself low on ammo. If
you don't want to cheat, you can attempt this round later, when you have gotten
more power and Mods.
=A3: Return of Crushto=
Prize: 10,000
Can you crush Crushto in under a mintue? Don't dawdle on weapon experience
here, go srictly to destroying Crushto with your most powerful weapons. At this
point they should be the Fusion Grenades/Bombs and the Predator Launcher,
followed by the Plasma Beasts. Only if/when you run out of ammo on these three
weapons can you smash the ammo crates on the edge of the arena.
=B1: Flaming Cragmite=
Prize: 6,000 bolts
Rounds: 5
Defeat hordes of gladiators without feeling the wrath of the Emperor's fiery
glare!
In case you haven't figured it out yet, in addition to the saws, the Fire
Statues are active in the centre of the arena. Simple enough to avoid, just be
a bit careful.
=B2: Smack Down at the Disco=
Prize: 5,000 bolts
Rounds: 4
Use only your Omniwrench to fight off these rythmically challenged gladiators!
This is likely to be one of those challenges you'll return to later. To
complete a round, first head to the Aqua Cutters and use the Combo Strike. When
the lights go up, head to the closest enemies, but prioritise the red Bombers
(kill them by Hyper-Striking then doing a quick swipe). For the Green Blasters,
jump around and over their shots and Hyper-Strike them. If the Groovitron Balls
aren't going, keep moving. Well, actually this also applies to when the lights
are up since you want them all dead ASAP. Stretch Jump to get to enemies
quickly, and Hyper-Strike at the end to swiftly deal damage. Remember that if
you cannot defeat this Challenge, try it again when you return to Mukow.
=B3: Get Your Dang Hands Off!=
Prize: 9,000 bolts
Rounds: 4
Defeat all the gladiators without taking any damage!
Unless you're a good player, don't use the Shock Ravager here, stick with your
ranged weapons. The Predator Launcher is good here as you can hold the rockets
until you're ready to fire. Move the camera around often to get a good look of
your surroundings and to see any enemies that may be behind you.
Once you have completed A3 and B3, congratulations, you've won the first season
of the Imperial Fight Festival!

=Apogee Space Station, Nundac Asteroid Ring #NAR=
===================================================
The Nundac Asteroid Ring, hidden in a remote part of the Cerullen Sector, is a
breeding ground for dealy Leviathans. Famed explorer Max Apogee is rumoured to
have built a heavily guarded fortress amoung these asteroids. Some say he
must possess the key to the lost Lombax Secret, as noone would set up residence
in the Nundac Asteroid Ring unless he was protecting something immeasurably
prescious.
=Mission 1: Get to the Space Station=
Qwark's message suggests the Lombax Secret might be on this remote space
station. The station is very heavily defended, and you will need special access
codes just to reach it.
Not to worry though. Head forward and you'll find a familiar face; it's the
Smuggler! Go up and talk to him.
=Mission 2: Make a trade with the Smuggler=
The Smuggler has offered access to the space station for a price. Give him
enough Leviathan Souls, and he'll give you the access codes to the station's
maintinence shuttle.
Yup, more Soul collecting. The Basilisk Leviathans (not related to the Basisk
in the Chamber of Secrets) are tougher over here, so be forewarned. First up,
head over to the right to find another Vendor. Nothing new on sale today.
If you've noticed, you'll see Raritanium Ore poking out of the ground. Seems
these asteroids are rich in 'em, so much so that I'm gonna leave it to you to
smash them. Saves my fingers from typing so much.
Near the Vendor is a large Teleport Cannon. Don't use it yet. First turn around
and head to the other side of the space station. There is a large asteroid
nearby with two goofy bugs and a Leviathan, along with some crates. I suggest
using the Predator Rockets here, they're a great weapon to use and upgrade over
here. It'll take a lot of rockets to kill it though. Hop back onto the landing
asteroid and to a smaller one on the left, with a goofy bug and Raritanium Ore.
There is also a Meteor Pad here. Use it to get onto the large spotlights above.
Smash the crates and kill the goofs. Hop back down and activate teleport cannon
Alpha. Aim it at the teleport down a bit, Cannon Beta, and watch the (rather
cool) warp effect.
***CHECKPOINT***
Smash the crates to the sides and proceed to the centipede (urgh, I hate it
when I rhyme like that). Go over the small bridge-like bit and face 4 goofs and
another pede.
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
Before using the Meteor Pad, turn right and use the Versa-Targets to get to a
small lone Asteroid. On it will be the Gold Bolt!
###############################################################################
Use the Meteor Pad to get to a larger asteroid abouve you. Defeat the goofs and
and the pede before concentrating on the Leviathan. Once you've defeated him,
hop back down the the Teleport Cannon and warp to Cannon Gamma, the one
farthest to the left. Smash the crates on the right then proceed through the
goofs and over the bridge to two Centipedes. Defeat them and clear the area
here. In the background a Leviathan will get ready to attack. Combat it and
defeat him for another Soul. Use the Meteor Pad on the far left side of the
asteroid to hop up to face another Leviathan. If you're low on ammo or want to
spend Raritanium, use the Teleport Cannon to warp back to Alpha. Up top you'll
have to deal with some goofs before taking on the Leviathan. Once there, hop
back down and head to Delta, on the far left.
***CHECKPOINT***
If you want to save bolts on ammo, jump down to the lower area on the right for
bolts and ammo. Defeat the goofs up top and find a Combat Device Vendor. No new
items are in stock here. Head around the narrow ledge around the corner to
fight more goofs and a centipede. Use the Meteor Pad to go to the top of this
asteroid and fight yet another Leviathan. The method should be getting clear
now. After the battle, jump down to the Meteor Pad area and use the
Versa-Targets to the left to swing over to another Leviathan fight. Kill it and
then use the next set of Targets to swing over to a small asteroid. Kill the
three goofs and smash the crate to get a @@@HOLO-PLAN@@@!!! Use the Meteor Pad
to go back to the first Leviathan Battle in this asteroid set.
***CHECKPOINT***
Defeat the pede in the clearing and fill up your Gelenator. If you walk forward
under the rib-cage-like structure ahead, you can look upand marvel at the
Raritanium interior of the asteroid. Turn left and shoot a cube at the base
of the large ledge. Leap up and collect the various goods up here. Jump back
over and over the solid Gelatonium pool and shoot a cube at the base of the
ledge here. Leap up and defeat various goofs and Centipedes while going
cockwise around the asteroid. Hop back to the solid pool at the beginning of
the asteroid and shoot a cube to bounce over to the asteroid ahead (use a semi
cube just to be safe if you wish). Defeat the Leviathan here. After the fight,
shoot a semi Cube where the orange flowers with blue roots are and leap over
to the asteroid to the right. Here you'll find three goofs and a Raritanium
Chest. Head back to the Teleport Cannon and warp to Zeta, just to the right a
bit.
***CHECKPOINT***
Upon arrival, if you haven't taken a detour or gone back to another planet, you
will recieve the Alphabet City Skill Point. Turn around and kill the goofs.
Smash the surrounding crates and through the small tunnel. Kill the three goofs
and Stretch Jump over to the next asteroid. Smash the crates on the way to the
Meteor Pad. Leap up and face your final Leviathan of the level. After it, hop
down the the Cannon and warp back to Alpha to trade with the Smuggler. The
Alpha Cannon is up and to the left.
***CHECKPOINT***
=Mission 2: Sell Your Souls=
The Smuggler is offering cash for Leviathan Souls. The Nundac Asteroid Ring
is inhabited by many large and lucrative Leviathans. This is a good oppurtunity
to earn bolts and Raritanium, as well as valuble experience.
Choose Trade Leviathan Souls for launch code. After the short message, DO NOT
PRESS X. Selling your souls for 4,000 bolts each still isn't as much as you
can get, there's one more stop before you can sell them. You can go ahead and
ask about who the station belongs to, the Great War, what the Lombax Secret is,
what Cragmites are, why Tachyon wants to kill all the Lombaxes, and what's with
the parrot. But DO NOT sell your Souls unless you're impatient.
=Mission 3: Navigate the Gravity Cube=
The space station is powered by a giant gravity cube. Traverse the maintenence
grip surrounding the gravity cube and look for a way inside the station.
Hop into the shuttle to be transported to the Gravity Cube. Turn around and
look up to spot the asteroid you were just one. Turn around and head forward.
Step onto the platform which will flip and transport you to the Cube itself
(no, still not The Cube from Cybertron...). Go to the left and use the platform
to hop up. As soon as you hit the next one, jump over to a third, and then wait
to get onto a fourth. This will get you to a static platform. Again, hop onto a
new platform, and then onto another. Seperating you from the next one is a
laser grid. Wait until this pair of platforms is to the far left before
crossing. When the platform stops at the far right, head forwards and over the
corner to the Meteor Pad. Use it to launch (in crazy manner) to the next
section.
***CHECKPOINT***
The next platform will take a mirrored L path over some lasers. Hop over them.
If you're having trouble, my strategy is to stand on the back of the platform
then hop to the front as the laser passes over, and then quickly run to the
back, ready for the next laser. Move across these static platforms to an
elevator. Quickly jump to one on the right and onto another platform to the
right again. To the right is another moving platform with lasers. Hop over them
and over the corner. A laser will be here sweeping the floor, hop over it. Now
another laser will guard the gap. Jump over this one and turn left. You'll spot
soime aqua platforms. These dissapear if you stand on them for too long, so
swiftly make your way over to the Meteor Pad on the other side, and launch over
to the next section.
***CHECKPOINT***
At this point, jump onto the next moving platform and across the dissapearing
platform to saftey. Look out for the Stomper as you go up the Dissa-Pad and
over the corner. Go under the Stomper and to the end here. Carefully time your
jump to avoid the two vertical sweeping lasers. Turn left and cross more
Dissa-Pads, but be careful of the sweeping horizontal laser here which may cut
both your legs and your life short. Go over the corner here to get to the end!
Go around the circular area here to smash crates and find Warp Cannon Eta (to
ease your mind, it was deactive until you walked up to it just now). Remember
now that you cannot get back into the space station once you've finished it.
Walk into the elevator to continue.
=Mission 4: Search the Station=
The Lombax Secret may be somewhere on this space station. But the station's
owners are using every trick in their arsenal to stop you from reaching it.
At the top of the elevator there will be a Vendor. Stock up and spend before
heading forward. Look through the glass to find the spherical cage-like
structure. This is the end goal inside there. Explore around, but remember that
when the warning intercom ends that some Zap-Bots (or Zaps) will come from the
left. On the right are crates and hologram windows. Cool effects, huh? To find
a little bug-glitch thing, stand right up to one (like the grassy one) and pull
the camera against the wall, and the as far up as you can.
Move through the left and through the door. Smash crates and head through the
next door once the next warning is finished. Destroy two Zaps, and then destroy
the Turret that appears. Move through the door to a large area. with some
crates near the door. Smash the Jackpot crate. Head inside, and several large
waves of Zaps appear here, so destroy them with a 'group' weapon like the
Plasma Beasts or the Shock Ravager. The Plasma Beasts are a good choice as they
upgrade quickly here.
Once the waves are gone, a turret will appear at the Bolt Crank on the far end
of the room. Destroy it and turn the crank to open the aqueduct door in the
floor (urgh, again with the rhyming). Turn the crank by pressing Square near
the bolt and pushing the Analog Stick in any direction. Dive into the Aqueduct
and avoid the mines as you swim through. When into the lake, turn left. Just
behind a tower of three mines are two Raritanium Chests. But, as you may
quickly find out, you can't attack underwater. What to do? Notice the
conveniently placed TNT Crates. You know what to do. Touch 'em, watch the show,
and collect the goods.
Turn around and swim forwards. Get to the surface at the end here and turn left
to find land. As soon as you get up there will be a Turret. Destory it and head
up to the next level on the left. Two turrets will apeear beyond the Zap. After
defeating them, head to the staircase. A turret will appear on it's left side.
You may have noticed by now that I'm leaving out crate smashing, as I assume
you're getting those on your own. However, I'm not one to be a complete snob,
as there is a health crate behind the staircase where the turret was.
Head up the staircase and some more Zaps will head down it. Head up the stairs
after fighting them and through the laser grid. Stock up at the Vendor here.
***CHECKPOINT***
Be wary as you smash the long stack of crates on the right near the staircase,
there's a turret behind that one. Head up the stairs to find a large armada of
turrets. If you get low on health here, remember that the Vendor give you full
health once you visit it.
Head through the door and another turret will greet you below at the next door
on the ceiling. Proceed through and some Zaps will come through the door on the
left. Defeat them and avoid the laser grid. The door will open once the space
station owners re-route the power. Inside is a large force of turrets. Again,
you can retreat back to the Vendor to stock up on health. Once you defeat them,
the door on the right opens allowing you get to another Vendor.
***CHECKPOINT***
Here you have three paths: Left, Right, or a Stretch Jump straight to the
ladder that leads to the door. It's reccomended that you take the left path, as
you'll be going there in a sec, but for experiences sake you can take both.
For either Left or Right, you will face two turrets, followed by a wave of
Zaps, then two more turrets, a right or left turn, and then you'll go to a
central pit where the ladder is. Climb up the ladder after the fight.
***CHECKPOINT***
Looks like the Zoni gave Clank a new toy!
[Your Geo-Laser comes equipped with a directional indicator to locate weak
walls! Simply follow the signal to locate areas where this handy device will
work.]
Follow the green light coming from Clank off the ladder and to the right, up
the steppes to the highest point. Here, press Triangle.
[You can use your new Geo-Laser to cut through natural surfaces. Simply tilt
your controller to guide the laser across the weak points before the surface
cools. The faster you move your controller, the faster the laser will cut.
As you use the Geo-Laser, you will have to cut through a weak point in the wall
indicated by a target) before the wall cools and you'll have to try again. Do
so, and the wall will burst, allowing you to walk right in!
..and it turns out to be a mixup. Well, uhh... at least you got experience,
right? Oh okay, fine, it was a waste of time! Admire Ms. Apogee's quarters, you
won't be able to return here once you use the teleporter. Warp to your ship and
enter Aphelion. Head back to Mukow if you want to get the One Helluva Peekhole
Skill Point (which also yields a TON of Raritanium and a Gold Bolt inside).
**Skill Points**
*Alphabet City: Teleport to each of the six asteroids in alphabetical order.
This is according to the Latin alphabet, so the order may not be correct on
first glance. The correct order is as follows: Alpha-Beta-Gamma-Delta-Epsilon-
Zeta. If you noticed this is also goind around the Asteroids in a clockwise
direction.
*Knock You Down to Size: Use Hyperstrikes on 5 Cerullean Centipedes.
Remember that you don't have to kill the Centipedes to get the Skill Point,
however is you do a normal strike then the game will discount that Centipede.
Asteroids Beta and Gamma are the closest asteroids with enough Centipedes on
them.
*Dancin' with the Stars: Make 5 enemies dance at once on an asteroid.
This is best done on the Beta Asteroid, after using the Meteor Pad.
====================================
=Pirate Base, Planet Ardolis #PPA=
====================================
The notorius space pirate Captain Slag is said to have a hideout somewhere in
the Irquol-Sul fjords of Planet Ardolis. Although no exporers have ever
returned alive from the hideout, its location has been approximated by
triangulating a pirate radio signal eminating from the planet.
=Mission 1: Infiltrate the Pirate Hideout=
Fight your way into the Captain Slag's hideout. The stolen Lombax artefact may
be hidden with the rest of the pirates' pilfered loot.
As soon as you land head to the Vendor. Up for sale are the Buzz Blades for
40,000 bolts and the Nano-Swarmers for 65,000 bolts. The Buzz Blades fire disks
that ricochet off enemies and walls, and the Nano-Swarmers deploys nanosects
that sting enemies as a swarm. This pirate cove in general is an excellent
place for levelling the Shard Reaper.
Head forward and see two Swordsman Pirates standing in front of you. These guys
are a bit tougher, but because they attack via melee means, keeping your
distance will keep you safe. To the left are some crates, and behind that, a
door. You can't open it from here. Continue forwards and take the right path.
Shoot the gunner near the Combat Device Vendor. Kill the wave of Swordsmen who
come in down the right. No new Devices still. Hop over the islands and kill the
gunner. Contiue to the cliff and use the Geo-Laser to cut down the wall. Kill
the bats before entering the Sardollow Caves.
Head down and kill the bats in the pool, then head right and up the path,
following a trail of bolts. Boost Jump up the ledge for more bats, and then
Stretch Jump across the gap. At the pool with the waterfall are, *gasp!*, MORE
bats! Stretch jump over the next gap and head right to the Chest here. By now
you must realise that they belong to the pirates, as does your current armour
(the pirates, armour, and Chest all bear the same logo). More bats are here.
Up ahead is a sheilded pirate. The Shard Reaper, Combustor and Buzz Blades do
not have enough force to go through the sheilds (although the Buzz Blades can
ricochet off walls and hit him from behind).
Continue forwards to the next cave and kill the pirates around the fire. Head
down to the pool and cut down the Staggie to make a new path back at the fire.
A pirate will jump in so kill him. Behind the Staggie is a Chest. Head up to
the fire as you hear pirates chanting. Stock up at the Vendor.
***CHECKPOINT***
=Mission 2: Find the Treasure Room=
You are deep in pirate territory, and Captain Slag's crew are hot on your tail.
Look for Slag's treasure room and retrieve the Lombax artefact.
Head up the steppes and cut a giant hole in the wall to spoil the pirate's
party. Head in and smash the Jackpot crate before taking down the Gunners and
Swordsmen. Head forward a bit to take on Sheilders. After taking out all the
enemies here, the door ahead will open and a wave of Sheilders will make their
way down to you. After defeating them, head around the edge of the area for
crates. You may find a Pirate Doorkeeper on the way. Interacting with him will
yeild naught but scorn; you'll need a Gadget later on to get up there.
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
###-REQUIRED GADGET: HOLO-PIRATE DISGUISE-###
Once you do open the door, use the elevator behind it to travel up to the
catwalks. Defeat the enemies here and travel to the corner in the far right to
find the Gold Bolt.
NOTE: You will need to come here and shoot gunmen in order to get the Taste 'o
Yer Own Medicine Skill Point.
###############################################################################
Head up the ramp and kill the gunmen. Head to the door, which will open, and a
Maniac Pirate will appear from a box. These guys charge at you and swipe you,
and can be hard at times due to the fact that they are electrocuted, so the
Shock Ravager is rendered useless on them. Head through the door (which closes
behind you, blocking access to the Vendor) and kill the swordsmen, and after a
tic a Pirate Ship will fly in dropping off some Sheilders. As per usual, kill
them all. There's a gunmen on the Mast Elevator on the far right behind the
containers here. Hop on it to be lifted up to a zip line on the left. Take it
to zip into the Treasure Room!
***CHECKPOINT***
=Mission 3: Catch up to Talwyn=
Talwyn's explosive diversion may have saved your life, but now she has
dissapeared with the artefact. You have to find her or you will lose the only
clue leading to the Lombax Secret.
So, after that... amusing cutscene (to say the least), turn around and head
right to find a Vendor, and an elevator that will lead back to the Combat
Device Vendor at the start of the level. After stocking up, head towards the
building with the yellow circular lights on it. Two gunmen will come out from
behind the crates. Kill them and use the Versa-Target to swing over to the
ship. Kill the three gunmen and use the Mast Elevator to get lifted up to
another zip-line (on the right). Use it to get to another ship. Get off the TNT
crates before they blow you up, and defeat the gunmen. As you do, a ship will
drop off more swordsman. Once they are gone, a bridge will extend and two
Maniacs will cross it. Keep your distance and kill 'em both. Cross the bridge
and kill the two swordsman. As you go inside the pub, fall back on the bridge
as a swarm of more swordsman comes out from the sides.
@@@-HOLO-PLAN-@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Before tackling the guys inside the pub, turn right until you find a door with
a Heli-Target on it. Kill the gunner here if you need to. Open the door and
head right to find a stack of crates next to a Raritanium Chest. Smash them
to get the Holo-Plan!
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Kill the gunmen in the pub and edges. Once done, an elevator opposite the
entryway will lower with more gunmen. Kill them and head up the elevator. Head
through the doorway and defeat the gunners outside on the dock. A ship will
come in and drop off some new club-weilding enemies, so be aware of that. Once
they are gone, hop onto the ship for Rusty Pete's Pirate Tour!
Some swordsman will come out of the barge to fight you as the tour goes on. As
you go past, notice the ship docked there. This is Talwyn's ship, but you won't
be able to get to it just yet. Look towards Mount McGuffin (the green area with
rocks below) to see an area you'll venture into later. Head inside the Radio
Tower.
***CHECKPOINT***
Inside the tower you'll be facing a boss, of Leviathan scale. This guy has
two types of attacks: Cannon Balls and a Stomp Attack. The Stomp Attack makes
a large shockwave, so flip out of the way of that. The cannonballs he fires
come in two types: Steel and Red. Steel Balls will crush you and roll about,
and Red Balls will detonate after 7 seconds, if you don't set them off first by
touching them. The boss will cycle through these attack methods. Just keep
firing at him to take him down, and remember that the short bridge back to the
Vendor retracts, however there are Ammo crates in the trench behind you (just
watch out for cannonballs). Pick up the load of Raritanium after he falls.
Head through the right door to find three Raritanium Chests in the Control
Room.
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
###-REQUIRED GADGET: HOLO-PIRATE DISGUISE-###
Dance your way through the left door to access the second Control Room. Inside
is the Gold Bolt.
###############################################################################
Head out the front door to meet up with Talwyn. After the cutscene, use the
teleporter to get back to your ship. You can use this later to quickly get the
Gold Bolt mentioned earlier.
At your ship, turn around and head left when the path veers to the right to
find another path behind some rocks to find an alternate path. Head up it to
find a Grind Rail.
[A Heli-Pod can raise that Grind Rail. Equip the Heli-Pod Gadget using the
Quick select, and then fire it at the target]
Do as the Helpdesk says. It won't matter if the Heli-Pod disintergrates, the
extention will stay up. Use it to traverse the grind rail, jumping and
switching rails when needed. After defeating the bats here, use the Heli-Pods
to cross the waters (these platforms sink when the Heli-pods disintergrate).
Jump to the dock and open the door with another Heli-Pod. Through it are
pirates around a campfire. Kill 'em and ignore the jiggling door and head to
the next one. Kill the bats and open the door for a Raritanium Chest. Head back
to the door to open a fan behind it, then use the Heli-Pods to on the two
targets on the pole to raise a ship from the water. Jump on it before it sails
off. Ignore the sunken ships on the right and use the Versa-Targets on the
left. Head up the steps for two Raritanium Chests. If you stayed on the boat
you will have been attacked by 6 bats.
Jump down to the distant island below and kill the bats before using the
Versa-Targets on the left. Here, Heli-Pod the two targets on the right to lower
the platform above.
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
To get this, stay on the platform and wait for the Heli-Pods to disintergrate
(or shoot them down with a weapon). When the platform raises, turn to the left
to find the Gold Bolts right there, along with some crates.
###############################################################################
Cross the platform and kill the bats. Lower the next platform with Heli-Targets
on the left. Wait for them to disintergrate or shoot them down to have the
platform raise you up to the top of the cliff. Boost Jump up the first cliff
and normal jump the second to find your reward: The Armour Magnetizer!
[You have acquired the Armour Magnetizer! This useful device ionises you armour
to attract bolts from increased distances!]
Cool item, huh? Use the Heli-Pods to open the door and walk to the area
Aphelion is sitting. Jump in the ship and head off for Rykan V!
**Skill Points**
*Taste o' Yer Own Medicine: Destroy all Corsairs with the Combuster.
Corsairs are the Piraters with the Pistols. I've done this and not gotten
the Skill Point, so it'd be best to kill ALL enemies with the Combuster. Sheild
enemies will be tough, so make sure you kill EVERY enemy around them before
using the Unique Mod to set the ground on fire to burn them via their own
metallic feet. Extra armour, health, Combustor Mods and a Magma
Combuster will definately help out here. There are some gunners on the catwalks
after the second Geo-Laser wall, so you'll need the Holo-Pirate Disguise to
complete this one (you can however, shoot all three of them from below, but
you'll need to take frequent trips to the Vendor)
*Preemptive Strike: Destroy 5 thwogs while they are still sleeping.
Twogs are the multi-eyed bats. The best place for this is in the first cave
you Geo-Laser into. They'll be on the ceiling. Buzz Blades
*It's Mutanty, Cap'n!: Change 5 pirates into penguins in one shot.
You'll need the Transmorpher for this one. The first good place for this is
the second wall you Geo-Laser into, in the area with the catwalks above.

=Mission 1: Evade the Pirate Fleet=
The Space Pirates caught up to you as you fled Planet Ardolis. Defeat Captain
Slag's dadly crew so that you can make it to Rykan V in the Verdigris Sector.
You didn't seriously expect to evade an armada of Space Pirates and make it out
without a good fight, did you? As soon as you start you'll be playing as Clank
on Aphelion's Turret. As soon as it starts aim up to hit a Special Target. As
the Battleship looms in, shoot the lasers to disable them, but hit the blue
target to destroy the whole battleship. A Raritanium Prism will pass by soon
into the fight with the Battleship. After the Battleship either flies away or
gets destoryed, a new wave of enemies shows up. Concentrate your fire on the
large one in the middle, it shoots missiles (the green ones are fodder). As you
fly through the asteroid fragments, a Special Target and Raritanium prism will
appear at the top and bottom of the screen, respectively.
After this, control will be given back to Ratchet. Fly over the battleship
while taking out the turrets. Shoot down the next two waves of enemies. As a
third wave passes through, two more Battleships will loom in. Shoot out their
blue targets to destroy them. More enemies will come in as you fly into the
fragments of a small moon (which has a Prism inside and outside). As you fly
out, quickly get the Special Target as you'll veer away from it as you get near
it. Don't forget the Health Rings before this.
***CHECKPOINT***
As you head towards the twin suns (no, Tatooine is not nearby. Sheesh), shoot
down the Snatcher, also commonly known as the Laser Ship, or Laser. Two more
waves appear as you fly past the smaller sun. Shoot the three Prisms before
getting the new wave of fighters. Around the sun is your third Special Target.
Another wave of enemies (including a Laser) will show up. Shoot them before you
head into the sun miners. Shoot two more Prisms past the second miner. Under
the fourth is a Special Target. Shoot it to collect your Gold Bolt. Go through
more miners and shoot down the large, tower-like Harvester to knock a dent in
the pirates trade. As you fly over the sun, shoot through miners and harvesters
until you get to more waves as you fly under the Solar Flares. As you go
through the Health Rings, Iron Crotch Caruso will show up.
***CHECKPOINT***
+++BOSS FIGHT: IRON CROTCH CARUSO++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Just like Puffy Pants Wallace, constant shooting is the key here, along with
constant dodging. Caruso has three attacks: Machine Lasers, Sun Bombs and Sonic
Rings. Machine Lasers are easy enough. Sun Bombs are bombs that are dropped
into the sun (no, really?) and launch up a ton of solar lava up into the air.
Three containters open up revealing a red light before releasing a bomb, so use
this to tell if a bomb is about to be released on the left, right, or in the
middle. Fly around the solar muck to avoid being scorched.
Sonic Rings are similar to an attack Clockwerk from Sly 1 and 2 used in his
boss fights. Fly through the electricity ring to dodge the Sonic Waves it emits
outward. These three attacks are shot in a random order and grow more frequent
as Caruso's Health goes down, so be aware of this. After defeating him, he will
blow up (yay!) and you'll be notified of any Skill Points you collected before
heading off to Rykan 5 (for real this time).
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
**Skill Points**
*You Sank My Battleship!: Shoot down at least 75% of the flying ships.
The 'flying ships' are the large looming battleships. There are four in the
early parts of the level (and the only part of the level they show up in), and
one of them doesn't have a blue detonation target. As 75% is commenly
attributed to 3/4, you need to shoot down every Battleship you can shoot down.
*Pretty Lights: Complete the level without destroying any of the snatchers
Snatchers are the ships that fire the yellow lasers. Just ignore the wave
they're in and move on.
*I've Got Places to Be: Destroy Iron Crotch Caruso in under 2:30.
If you just hold down R1 and aim at Caruso, you should get this Skill Point
in the natural course of things.
=================================
=Lava Refineries, Rykan V #LPR=
=================================
The lava refineries of Rykan V are the source of the metals used in the most
advanced weapons and armour sold in the galaxy. The planet also has clear
indications of a past Lombax presence, and as such has attracted the attention
of Emperor Tachyon.
=Mission 1: Breach the Main Gate=
Tachyon's armies have occupied the Rykan V spaceport. They must know there was
once a Lombax presence on this planet. Fight alongsike Cronk and Zephyr as you
break through the front line of imperial defences.
So you start off skydiving. Tilt the controller to avoid the missile coming in
at you (don't worry, Cronk and Zephyr will be fine). When you land, keep in
mind that there is a Vendor up in the bushes behind where you land. You will
face new, upgraded opponents here in the Verdigris Sector, so you'll need to
use your more powerful weapons here. The pipes sticking out of the ground will
act as cover for you as you defeat the enemies here. The basic formula is that
a new wave of enemies (totaling up to 7) will come in. In the middle of it,
Cronk will lay a bomb, which detonates (eventually), revealing the path to the
next section and a Vendor.
***CHECKPOINT***
=Mission 2: Defeat the Heavy Troopers=
The imperial army is bringing in its deadliest forces to stop you from entering
the spaceport. Tachon will do anything to keep you away from whatever Lombax
secrets lie on this planet.
Here in this arena you'll face upgraded Cyclo-Cannons. If you can't be bothered
Charge Booting back to the Vendor, there are Ammo Crate Spawners on the sides
of the path leading to the elevator on the far end. After 10 more waves, you
will need to take down the Anti-Aircraft defences.
=Mission 3: Destroy the Turret Defences=
Tachyon's troops have seized the spaceport defences. Destory the turrets in
order to enter the spaceport. With the anti-spacecraft defenses offline, Talwyn
and the Aphelion should be able to reach the surface.
The Predator Launcher is the only logical weapon to take them down at this
point. Hit them when they are exposed. After this, take the elevator up to the
top of the spaceport.
***CHECKPOINT***
=Mission 4: Explore the Spaceport=
The coordinates from the artefact point to a location underground! You'll need
to find transportation to travel under the magma surface.
Here you can access Aphelion again if you feel like visiting a past level.
Explore the Spaceport to find a Weapons and Armour Vendor. New at the Armour
Vendor is the new Helios Armour, for 100,000 bolts. This is manufactured by the
Kerchu and absorbs 40% or all damage. You'll need it to make the Verdigris
Sector a challenge that'll keep you sane. No new stuff at the Weapons Vendor.
There's a Combat Device Vendor near the Armour one selling Mr. Zurkons. This
little guy is a synthenoid who provides covering fire against opponents, and
also smash-talks 'em! Don't buy any yet, you'll get a free one in a sec.
To the right of the Vendor is a Raritanium Chest.
@@@-HOLO-PLAN-@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
Head over to the far right side of the spaceport area. Jump up on top of the
container under the orange-yellow pipes and stand under them. Have Ratchet drop
down and grab the ledge. Shimmy over to the left. Drop down with R2. Head over
to the other identical ledge and repeat the move. Head forward where some
Tesla-Drones will appear. Dispatch them. Explore this area by going into the
small rooms and destroying any more drones you find.
You'll find an open box with a green forcefield. Inside is a platform with a
Heli-Target. Boost Jump over and inside the box to get in. Lift the Platform
up and jump onto the roof. Smash the crate here to find the Holo-Plan!
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
On the far left side of this area is a new one up a ledge. When you get up
here, two Sheilded Drophyd's will come out. Kill them. Head around the right
side of the room they came from to the back. Jump onto the ledge and shimmy to
the left to get to the Gold Bolt! Head up the Gravity Ramp near the Drophyd
room to find two Raritanium Chests. Turn right and jump down to two more Chests
among some crates, and beyond that a few more crates. Smash all of them. Head
back to the second pair of Chests you found and use the zip-line to get back to
main part of the spaceport.
###############################################################################
Head over to the left of the spaceport to find the Smuggler again! Go up and
talk to him. Ask about how to explore the refineries, what the holo-plans are
for, and if there are any Leviathan Souls around.
=Mission 5: Buy a Gyro Cycle=
The Smuggler is offering to sell a slightly used Gyro-Cycle. This may be just
what you need ti explore the lava tues and reach the coordinated indicated by
the Lobax artefact.
Purchase the Gyro-Cycle for 5,000 bolts to get into the refineries. You can ask
about the Lombax too now, and if the Smuggler has anything else he can spare.
He'll give you Mr. Zurkon as a gift. You can't sell your souls here, but you
will on the next planet for a full cash prize that I've been stalling you for.
It's well worth it.
=Mission 6: Travel the Lava Tube Network=
Travel under the planet's surface and explore the lava tubes to reach the
coordinates specified by the Lombax artefact.
Walk over to the circular platform near the Smuggler and press Triangle to be
launched into the Refineries. The controls for this are simple. Use the Left
Stick to move and hold X to boost. That simple!
[Use your Gryro-Cycle to roll over these Tri-Pads]
Activate the Tri-Pads to open the door. Go on the platform to be launched up to
Go forwards and down the chute, collecting the Raritanium and avoiding the fire
jets.
[Rolling through Hypergates will give you an instant speed burst!]
If you're after the Raritanium, don't hold X here as you're prone to miss them
if you do. The platform at the end will shoot you up into the next section.
***CHECKPOINT***
Move through the tube and over the bridge, avoiding the jets of course. Head
through another tube and into the next room. Navigate over the jets and use a
new platform to get up to the next level. Get to the other side and launch to
the next level (those other two red ones aren't there for any particular
reason). Head through the tube over the jets to the bridge and cross it.
***CHECKPOINT***
Head through the next hyper-tube, collecting more Raritanium and avoiding more
jets. At the end, you'll be fired up to the Island Talwyn was talking about
before.
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
After the cutscene, exit the bunker and head right. Jump up the ledge to smash
crates and a Chest. Turn left, and hidden on the far side of the rock, in the
grass, is the Gold Bolt!
###############################################################################
Head over to the teleporter outside to get warped back to the spaceport. Enter
Aphelion and head off to Sargasso!
**Skill Points**
*The Customer is Not (Always) Right: Destroy 18 consumer robots on Rykan V.
The consumer robots are around the spaceport area where Aphelion is.
*Live Strong: Complete the Gyro-Cycle tunnel in 1:45 without dying.
There's a complication to this Skill Point. If you have opened the door via
the Tri-Pads in the tunner BEFORE you go through the tunnel, the Skill Point
won't count.
*Untouchable: Don't take damage in the Gyro-Cycle
Of course this means to not take damage in a run through the tunnels.
=====================================
=Outpost L51, Planet Sargasso #OPS=
=====================================
Planet Sargasso is a dangerous and uninhabitable pimordial swampland. It is
infested with large and deadly creatures who will quickly make a meal out of
any unwary explorer. The only advanced race known to travel to the planet are
the fiercely territorial Kerchu. The Kerchu have built gelatonium drilling
derricks on the planet, as Sargasso is one of the only planets containing
gelatonium that is not under imperial control.
=Mission 1: Explore Sargasso=
The Lombax testing facility you learned about on Rykan V is supposed to be
somwhere on this planet. Search the surface of Sargasso to find the testing
facility.
Pretty planet, eh? When you land, you'll find an Armour and Weapons Vendor to
the right. Your ship is behind you. Also on the right an an enormous
Troglosaurus (not related to Trogdor). Head forwards to find the Smuggler.
=Mission 2: Trade Souls for the Decryptor=
The robo-ignition pads that activate Clank's Robo-Wings have been deactivated.
The Smuggler has followed you here and is offering a Decryptor Gadget that can
activate the ignition pads.
If you've been following my Guide so far you will have a total of 8 Leviathan
Souls. You can sell them now if you want to, but if you want to go out there
and get a few more anyways, here's how. Start by heading up the large hill.
Coming over to the right is a large T-Rex Leviathan. These guys aren't too
powerful for their size, but have considerable health. He'll be backed up by
green and red bugs, so be aware of those. Once the Rex is dead, pick up the
Raritanium and kill the remaining bugs. Head over to the yellow-grey Kechu
structure ahead (killing a swarm of Red Bugs). Kill the Greens here and head to
the other side where the giant rib-cage is sticking out of the ground. Get some
ammo and head in.
Out of the ground will pop out a swarm of red bugs. If you need to upgrade the
Tornado Launcher, now's the time to do it. Sweep them clean and the Green bugs
ahead (you'll get a Skill Point for the red ones). At the end of a cave another
Rex wil jump out of the swamp muck at you. After killing it, head back out and
over the islands. Kill more Greens out here and it's back on the mainland (the
jump back will require jumping to the mossy rocks on the right). Head forward
to the Troglosaur to find Ammo Crates. Head to the right of the Kerchu
structure to the next Rex, but kill the swarm of Red Bugs first. Kill it, and
then head back to the Smuggler. If you get lost remember that you can press
Select and use the Map to find your way back. Also, if you got the Charge Boots
on Mukow, then now is a VERY good place to use them.
After making the trade, talk to the Smuggler first. See that his offer is now
8,000 bolts. This is the big trade you've been waiting for. If you were to sell
the Sould you had at the soonest possible moment, you would have gotten a total
of 174,000 bolts. But by selling all your souls (along with the total amound
you can find here) to the Smuggler now, you will get a grand total of 232,000
bolts. By contrast it ain't much, but in the long run it can make a difference.
Plus that's a lot of bolts for the hardware store. Oh and yes, this is the last
planet you can get Leviathan Souls from. Trade your current Souls for some cash
(8,000 bolts each).
You can talk to the Smuggler about what he's doing here, Kerchu, where they
came from, Max Apogee, and if he's got any more work for ya. At the end of it
he'll give you 500 Raritanium for your troubles.
=Mission 3: Search from the Sky=
Activate the robo-ignition pads with the Decryptor, ten search for the Lombax
testing facility from the air.
Head over to the glowing pad to activate the Decryptor.
[To hack the lock, tilt your SIXAXIS wireless controller to slide the bridge
connector across circut gaps. The lock will open when the energy circut will
complete its circut path. If the spark hits an open gap, the lock wil reset.]
Decryptor puzzles are a fun part of the game, and the later ones (like in
Challenge Mode) become maze-like in their design. Fortunately, this first one
is quite simple. Press X to start, and them move the ball over the gap. Hold X
to lock in position. When the spark hits the red diode, the circut will be
completed. Press X and activate the Robo-Wings for a tour of the islands! Guide
Ratchet through the rings until you get to the end. If you land, you'll reset
back at the start.
***CHECKPOINT***
=Mission 4: Investigate the Kerchu Outpost=
The Kerchu have set up a gelatonium refinery on the planet. The path to the
Lombax testing facility appears to lead right through the Kerchu refineries.
Follow the bolts through the rib-cage to the Vendor. Top up if needed and head
over past the Reds to the Kerchu Mech. Kerchu enemies are quite tough at this
point in the game. Still, you need to kill it. Just keep at it with your guns
and he'll go down in the end. On the left of the large door is another
Decryptor Puzzle. This one will teach you about multiple circut ends. The spark
can go in a 'corner' formation. After doing the first circut, have the ball
head right up top and link vertically to the circut of the Finish Diode. Head
inside to... another Gelatonium Plant! You'll find Kerchu Rollers in here.
Unless you have an explosive weapon, you'll be unable to dish out much damage
to them. However, the Groovitron is highly effective at having them come out of
their shell and dance their pants off (sounds like me at the School Disco).
Blow up the metal crates to the left of the entrance (there are no TNT crates
in this stack). Head up to the Gelenator Pump and fill it up. Jump up the two
ledges on the right and at the end turn left again to cross the platforms.
Bounce over to the floating platform and stay on it to activate it. Hop down to
the next catwalk and follow it to bounce up the next ledge. Empty the Gelenator
and head through the door outside.
***CHECKPOINT***
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
Before jumping down and heading to the grassy area, turn left and head behind
the large pillar to find the Gold Bolt!
###############################################################################
Head over to the grassy area where the Rollers are. Don't activate the Tri-Pads
just yet, defeat the Kerchu by throwing another Groovitron when you have lured
them close together. After the battle activate the Tri-Pads to activate a
platform nearby. Use it to hop up, and then use some more on the right to cross
over to the old vined building. To open the door you'll need the Decryptor
again.
Here you'll have multiple paths. All you need to remember is to not use the top
path when you near the end. Through the door are more Fire Mechs. Use the
Groovitron if things get too hairy. The dirt pile at the far end will also
spawn Reds and Greens will also fly in. After the fight, head to the far column
on the right and Boost Jump up to get to the top and find a Bolt Crank. Turn it
to open up the door again. Jump to the other ledge to find the Alpha Disruptor.
This is an overpowered weapon for this part of the game but is perfect for
quickly killing Rexes.
[Hold O to charge up the Alpha Disruptor, then release O to fire.]
Yes, it was the first weapon. And it has a LOT of whoop-ass. Head out the door.
Use the platform to ride back to the grassy area and over the bridge the camera
pointed out. Head over to the Vendor. As you'll find, Disruptor Mods are VERY
expensive. Head up and over the hill to take on the Rex.
***CHECKPOINT***
He should go down with just two Disruptor shots. Activate the three Tri-Pads
from left to right to activate the platform up to the top. Up here is a Fire
Mech. The catwalk here is a bit narrow so be careful. Head left from the
platform and use the next one to get to two Rollers. Use your remaining
Groovitron to ease the grip of battle. Head through the door on the right.
Before heading up the path on the right go forward to find a Chest. Head up the
path back at the door. Defeat the Reds and Greens here, and then jump the gaps
through the ribcage. Head to the door and activate the Decryptor puzzle.
This is a maze-like puzzle, and the spark can go through walls so keep that in
mind as you navigate and figure out the puzzle. The walls block the ball from
being able to connect to the circut end on the other side of the wall, meaning
you cannot make the spark jump through walls from one circut end to another.
Head inside the open the floor to find an old friend.
***CHECKPOINT***
=Mission 5: Soul Searching=
The Smuggler is offering more bolts for souls. The road ahead is likely to be
dangerous, and this is a good oppurtunity to gain valuble experience and bolts.
Head out the door outside and jump down. We're going to do some Soul Searching
now, but if you want to get to the Fight Festival there's a Launch Pad ahead
at the bottom of the cliff.
Jump down and head left to have a Rex leap at ya. Defeat him, then turn around
and head up the Kerchu structure. Defeat the two Fire Mechs here and head back
to the Launch Pad. There are some crates at the left base of the large building
so get those too.
@@@-HOLO-PLAN-@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Use the Launch Pad to fly up and turn hard right to the large building. Land on
top and defeat the Greens. Smash the crates on the right side to find the
Holo-Plan!
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Turn left and head right for the Rex, past the Launch Pad. Continue forwards
past this Rex to find another one. There are some crates up the hill on the
right if you need some ammo, but beware of the Reds here.
At the edge of the lake are some Greens. Shoot them down if you want. Head back
to the Launch Pad for some more Red and Green action. Turn right towards the
Troglosaur to find another Rex. If you turn left from here you'll be under the
feet of a Troglosaur.
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
The Troglosaur will periodically raise his feet. There is one exposed Tri-Pad,
but the other two are hidden under his back feet. Press this one under his
back-left foot first, and then quickly head to the other one under his right,
before getting the one under his belly. Be wary of the Reds here. Head through
the now-open door at the side of the cliff and into the cave to find your Gold
Bolt!
###############################################################################
Head to the tail of the Troglosaur and Boost Jump on top of it. Keep doing this
up his Rocks until you get onto his back. Up here you'll find a Raritanium
Chest! If you want a Skill Point, you'll want to land on the head of these guys
by jumping off the front end of the rock you're on. You may also be wondering
how to get to that other one in the lake. Well, head back to the second Launch
Pad and fly up on top of him! For an easy landing press Triangle while you're
above him.Go back to the first Pad and fly through the gap in the cliff.
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
Head over to the Kerchu Structures. Land on the closest platform behind the
tower to find a Gold Bolt. You'll also find Fire Mechs and Rollers around these
structures. Find the Launch Pad to get back into the air.
###############################################################################
Turn right and head to the place with the Rex. There are ammo crates nearby. Be
careful when you attack him as two more will jump out for you once you kill the
first one, making this fight a bit tricksy. Head to the Launch Pad and turn
left and up the Kerchu Structure for another Fire Mech fight. Head over to the
Troglosaur and climb up it for more Raritanium. Around about now I start to get
worringly low on ammo, so you can Stretch Jump and glide over to the Launch
Pad, turn around and head right to get back to the Vendor and stock up, then
fly back (there's nothing special on top of the Troglosaur here except for some
crates).
Head up the hill and through a swarm of Reds to another Rex. Kill it and head
to the Launch Pad to kill some Reds and Greens. Use the Pad to launch over to
the islands. Kill the Rex and head into the islands. There are a lot of Reds
and Greens out here so be ready for that. Your travel will end at the Launch
Pad. Smash the crates around here and head forward. In the open area you'll be
overwhelmed by a truckload of Reds, so mop them up. Head forward to face
another Rex. After killing it, head back to the Launch Pad. Turn right early to
hop onto more islands. On the second one, to the right of the first, will be a
Raritanium Chest. Boost Jump up the ledge and turn left to fight the last Rex,
but sweep up the Reds first. When you kill it, you'll get the Extinction Skill
Point for your troubles. Head over to the Launch Pad here and fly back to the
Smuggler. You can land on the back of the Troglosaur near him and get the
Head Examiner Skil Point if you wish.
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
Use the Launch Pad to leap up and fly on top of the Troglosaur here to get a
Gold Bolt. If you're following the guide, jump onto his head to get the Head
Examiner Skill Point.
###############################################################################
=Mission 6: Return to the Fight Festival=
Captain Qwark says he has a clue to give you. He may have uncovered part of
Tachyon's plans that will lead to the location of the Dimensionator. Rerutn to
the Imperial Fight Festival and find Qwark.
Trade your Souls to the Smuggler and then head back to Aphelion to blast off
to the Imperial Fight Festival once more. If you've killed all the Leviathans
around here, then you should get the Bolts in the Bank Skill Point for the
trade.
**Skill Points**
*It Sounded Like a Freight Train: Get 11 Anthropods in one tornado
Anthropods are the little red bugs that come in swarms. As such, this one
should be simple.
*Head Examiner: Land on all of the Toglosaurs' heads.
Another relatively simple one. There are 5 in the level.
*Extinction: Kill all the Sargasso Grunthors
Grunthors are the large T-Rex Leviathans around here. Like Giant Hunter on
Cobalia, this should be acheived in the normal course of the level.
============================
=Magnetum Tournament #MNT=
============================
Upon landing, take this chance to get the final Gold Bolt in the level. Head
forward through the archway and turn right to the Decryptor Pad. This is a real
maze of a Challenge. To pass it, use the following End Point directions:
Down, Right, Up, Right, Right, Up, Down, Right, Left
This should get you to the end. Once you do, Wall Jump up to find the Gold Bolt
up the top here. If you're still yet to get the One Heckuva Peephole Skill
Point, take the main path to get to it (see the original level Guide for
details).
Head back to your ship and take the taxi on the right to get flown back to the
Fight Festival Entrance. Enter to start the Challenge, but Sargasso has yeiled
you a TON of Raritanium, so you can spend that.
The fight will be much like Flaming Cragmite, except the enemiesh ere are
stronger to match your new weaponry. Still, the challenge isn't that hard, just
keep moving and shooting. Oh, and watch the saws. Win, and you get to fight
Zorthan. The main aim here is to keep away from him, much like the B2 Brawler
from Going Commando (especially their spinning attacks). If you touch him in
any situation you'll get shocked. Defeat him and win the Holo-Pirate Disguise!
You will get a Skill Point for acquiring all the Gadgets in the game.
=Mission 6: Fight for Cash Prizes (Part 2)=
The Imperial Fight Festival offers bolts and other prizes for winning battles.
It's a god oppurtunity to earn bolts and raise your nanotech and weapon levels.
Once again, the Challenge system works like this:
C1--C2--C3--C4
/
#3--#4=
\
D1--D2--D3
As per usual, repeating challenges will gradually decrease the bolt prize you
win from the challenge.
=#3: Well Done, Mustacio!=
Rounds: 5
Time Limit: 5:00
Prize: None (on the first attempt, second attempt is 1,650 bolts)
Pyrocidic statues. Wrathful gladiators. And a time limit the would make even
Zorthan soil himself.
Okay, maybe not, it's not THAT hard.
=#4: Introducuing Zorthan=
Prize: Holo-Pirate Disguise (on first attempt, second attempt is 6,000 bolts)
Do you have the guts to step into the area with Zorthan the Irritable?
+++BOSS FIGHT: ZORTHAN+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Zorthan is a boss where the key is persistance. Start off with a couple of
Disruptor rounds, but wait a bit before doing your next charge, as firing a
shot too soon will be ineffective. After this, fall back to your next most
powerful weapon, and so on until you defeat him.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
=C1: Variety is the Spice of Death=
Rounds: 5
Prize: 6,000
Kill all the gladiators while your weapon switches at random!
Again, not too hard, but likely complex as your weapon switches to a weaker
one. If you get a weak weapon, use up all the ammo to force your weapon to
switch.
=C2: They Were On Sale=
Rounds: 5
Prize: 7,000 bolts
Survive a non-stop stream of a hundred bomb bots!
Again, quite easy, especially with the Tornado Launcher.
=C3: Tag Team=
Prize: 11,000 bolts
Zorthan and Crushto seek to regain their honour. Can you take them both down?
This can get tricky. Crushto in this Challenge has a more health and damage in
order to be on Par with Zorthan. Just keep firing and falling back to other
weapons when your powerful ones run dry. When you get low on Health, throw out
a couple of Leech Bombs, and Groovitrons help slow the action down.
=C4: Light a Match, Mustacio!=
Rounds: 3
Prize: 12,000 bolts
Lethal gas is being released into the arena! Do whatever it takes to survive!
About the only challenge here is getting Health a bit more often than usual.
=C5: Zorthan's Revenge=
Tim Limit: 2:00
Prize: 13,000 bolts
You killed his family. You framed him for murder. Okay, maybe nor. But he's
annoyed anyway.
As you get ammo crates here, run around the edge smashing them and fire off
Disruptor shots. Even V1 will do it in no time.
=D1: Untouchable=
Rounds: 4
Prize: 10,000 bolts
Get hit once, and you fail. Not for the squeamish.
Not too dificult, just watch out for the saws. The Buzz Blades are great here
as they fire quite far and have a nice rebound effect.
=D2: Heavy Hitters=
Rounds: 4
Prize: 5,000 bolts
Only gladiators tough enough to wield an Alpha Disruptor are permitted.
This challenge is easier once you have most of the mods, especially the Unique
Mod you can get here for group shots. You have unlimited shots so don't worry
about ammo consumption here.
=D3: Everyone Wants a Piece of Mustachio=
Rounds: 6 (counting the boss Tag Team round at the end)
Are you crazy enough to take on 5 rounds of enemies AND Crushto and Zorthan?
A tricksy challenge, to be sure. Keep your health up in the first 5 rounds and
then use a new stratefy in the last round. As the ammo crates here repawns this
time, the strategy is to circle around the area smashing crates while firing
off Disruptor rounds. Do this till the bosses are defeated.
Complete all the Challenges to complete the Fight for Cash Prizes Mission. Head
back to Aphelion. You may want to head back to Ardolis to open the Pirate doors
there for Gold Bolts. After that, it's off to Kreeli Comet!
=========================================
=IRIS Supercomputer, Kreeli Comet #IKC=
=========================================
The IRIS supercomputer is the most ancient and powerful computer in the galaxy.
Who created it and why have been long fogotrrer, but IRIS continues to be used
as a form of intergalactic encyclopaedia and oracle. Some beleive that the
sheer computational power and massive storage of this supercomputer give it the
eerie ability to predict future events.
=Mission 1: Infiltrate the Pirate Camp=
Pirates have set up camp around the icy outskirts of the IRIS Supercomputer.
They are looting prescious metals from IRIS circutry. You will have to hurry to
reach IRIS before the pirates completely destroy the ancient computer. Use your
Holo-Pirate Disguise to get past and Skull Security Doors. If you're looking to
upgrade the Tornado Launcher, this is an excellent level to do it.
This is one of my favourite levels. Start by turning right to the Vendor. On
special today is the Pyro Blaster. This is a simple yet deadly flamethrower,
quite similar to the Pyrociter from Gadgetron. It's 100,000 bolts but you
should be able to afford it. Head down the path to the pirate camp. To your
left you'll come across a Combat Device Vendor. No new Devices today. Head
to the pirates. Equip the disguise and walk in. You probably don't need to do
this if you want to destroy the pirates, but in any case you'll need to wear
the disguise if you want to get through the Skull Door. If you want to be
friendly to the pirates, press O to give 'em a Salute.
You'll find an armour Vendor to the left of the door. There's no new armour,
but you can use it in the Pirate Disguise if you want to. Head up to the door,
destroyed pirates or no. Press Triangle to activate the doorkeeper. Obviously
you'll need to have the disguise on. If you're accepted, press X to start
dancing. The on-screen controls will tell you what to do.
After opening the door, head inside. Listen to the pirate talk about Mutiny
before blowing him up. Kill him and his mate with the aid of the explosives
behind him. Head left. If you're under the disguise, you can walk right up to
the next two pirates. Kill them both before getting to the Chests you passed on
your way to them. Head up by turning the Bolt Crank here to get to the top of
the ship you're in.
The pirate on the turret up top will spot you no matter what you do, so quickly
get behind cover. The Alpha Disruptor works great here, although you could also
use the explosived set up behind him. After defeating him, a swarm of axe and
swordsman will come out from behind the turret, so take these out too.
To your left is a grind rail. Use it to get to the next area. Kill the pirates,
then head forward and kill the ones on the islands. Hop over them to the left
and equip the disguise. A camera move will show a guy on a turret. If you don't
take him out first, the next battle will be a pain. Stride up to him and take
him out, followed by the three back at the campfire. As the ones there are
sheilded, you can man the turret and blast them out (although you won't get any
weapons experience for them).
Head up the clifflets to the right of the turret. Two pirates will jump out so
take care of them. At the top, a Maniac will come out. Keep your distance and
get him too. Climb up the ladder, around the bow of the ship above the engines,
and then up to some more pirates.
***CHECKPOINT***
After defeating them, head up to the Skull Door. Dance your way in. You can't
sneak through explosives, so blow them up and tackle the pirates. After beating
them, a Maniac will come in from the left so be careful of this. Head down the
Gravity Ramps and make your way across the Cannon Hatches. Up the top on the
deck of the pirate ship Samus McSoggyBritches. This is just like the fight at
the end of Ardolis. Collect the wealth of Raritanium he releases after defeat
and head forward to the Vendor.
***CHECKPOINT***
=Mission 2: The Battle for the IRIS=
Now that you're deep in Pirate territory, you'll need to put up a fight to
reach the IRIS supercomputer.
Destroy the explosives here and top up at the Vendor. If you feel like leaving
the planet, you can use the teleporter on the right to get back to Aphelion.
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
@@@-HOLO-PLAN-@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Turn back to the ship you were on and turn right to notice some ledges here.
jump down and use the Versa-Target to get to the next island. In this stack of
crates is the Holo-Pan!
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
But you're not done yet. Turn left and swing over to another island. Fight the
pirates and dance your way into the ship. Smash the crates and explosives in
here and head to the next room. Collect the Gols Bolt and then smash the Chests
in here. Use the platform in the middle of the room to get back to the deck.
###############################################################################
From here on in the Disguise won't work on the Pirates (but you can still use
it on doors). Thus, the turrets ahead may pose a problem. But you do have a
Groovitron in stock. Three waves of pirates will move in from the path ahead,
the first two of them sheilded, so take them out. As you go down the path,
there will be another turret on the left.
Move forward and take out the two pirates and turret on the right. Turn the
Bolt Crank at the far end to extend the bridge. Don't worry about the Maniac,
you'll finish extending the Bridge before he hits you. When you're done though,
immediately back off as you combat him. Cross the bridge and fight another
SoggyBritches. He'll be a bit hard as he's hanging from a remote distance, so
you can't upgrade a close-rage weapon, but he's not TOO hard. After the fight,
use the Geo-Laser to cut through the icicles. Hop over the islands and fight
more pirates. Head left past the campfire to the Vendor to top up and upgrade
your weaponry.
***CHECKPOINT***
Head down the tunnel on the right, but watch out for the Maniac here. Kill the
pirates around the campfire, then go down the bridge and kill more, then turn
right and take out the pirate manning the turret and the ones around it. Turn
left down another bridge and dance your way through another door. Smash the
crates and explosives before fighting a final SoggyBritches. After beating him,
head back to the Vendor for more upgrading if you wish. Head into IRIS to find
that it's been damaged. Clank, however, can head in to reapair it's CPU.
=Mission 3: Repair the IRIS=
The pirates' looting has damaged IRIS, and the upercomputer has lost power.
Clank must go inside IRIS to try to repair the damage.
Press Triangle to send Clank in. Inside is a very kinetic (moving) world. Head
forwards and hold R1 to slow time, allowing you to get past the rings. Wake up
the Zoni on the other side (while gazing at the core ahead of you), and then
slow time to pass the shock gate. Navigate through the hexagons and then
Levitate Clank over to the ones over on the right. Wake up the Zoni and float
back and head right.
[Select "Charge Up" from the Zoni Quick Select to power these nodes.]
Do so, it's the right option. Head through the door and defeat the pirate.
Levitate right to the platoform and head up the stairs to more Zoni. Wake them
up and Glide down to the door ahead. Open the door.
%%%-SECRET CODE-%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
This is a strange thing that you will find. Instead of heading forward,
levitate to the hexagon on the right, and then over to the next one, then to
the safe area. At the end you'll find a bolt. This will give you a secret code
for an upcoming episode of Secret Agent Clank. Apparently these are unique, but
fret not if you don't get the code down, it'll be avaiible in the Help section,
under Options. Scroll down till you find it. Levitate back to get back to the
main path.
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
Hop through the rings, over the bridge, through more rings, levitate to and
defeat the two pirates, and then head right and levitate up the platforms, from
lowest to highest. Wake up the Zoni on the way. Jump back and then over to and
across the stairs. Defeat the pirates on the hexagons, and head over the bridge
through the rings. Activate the distant door and head up the stairs to defeat
more pirates on hexagons. Head through the door and turn left to go through the
sock gates and inside IRIS' core. Use Repair to, erm, repair IRIS' core.
Before you leave, you can still talk to IRIS. Chat to it to ask the following:
-Where the Lombaxes banished the Cragmites
-Where the Lombaxes went
-Max Apogee
-Where the Space Pirates come from
-Where Cronk and Zephyr met
-Where Grummels from
-What's happening back on Kerwan
-What Captain Qwark's full name is
-What RaC character auditioned for Galactic Idol
-What the last number in pi is
-If a tree makes a sound when no-one's there the hear it
-What Qwark's aliases are
-What hardware Clank runs on, according to Big Al
-What RaC character is represented only as a set of eyes
-What the name of Clank's evil Clone is
-How long a Snagglebeast's allergy to Mutant Swamp Flies lasts
-The name of two Dreadzone broadcasters
-The name of Dr. Nefarious'accomplice
-What planet Skrunch is from
Yeah, those are all the questions. Note that according to Clank, the final
digit of pi is 1, not 6, and that Clunk's name is spelt Klunk in UYA. Turn
around and take the teleporter back to Aphelion to head to planet Jasindu.
**Skill Points**
*Lombaxes Don't Like Cold: Break all the breakable icicles
There are two kinds of icicles on Kreeli Comet. The first are the large,
blocky, heagonal ones, and the second type are thin pointy ones, which can get
confuced with the ice flowers.
*Mow Down Hoedown: Use turrets todestroy 10 dancing Pirates
What this means is that you need to throw a Groovitron to make pirates dance
and then kill themwith a nearby turret. This is best done in the part of the
pirate camp just after the second Vendor.
*Saucy Wrench: Destroy all the campfire sauce pots with your wrench.
This one is best acheived when you clear the whole level of enemies. Reach
IRIS, teleport back to your ship, and then jump off a cliff. The enemies won't
respawn but the pots will.
================================
=Zordoom Prison, Planet Viceron=
================================
As Percival Tachyon rose to power, Zordoom Prison quickly became the most
feared location in the galaxy. Anyone who opposed Tachyon, or simply failed to
show sufficiently gleeful obsequiosness, was sent away to Zordoom for life.
There are no paroles or pardons from Zordoom. Any trip there, even as a
visitor, is a guaranteed life sentence.
=Mission 1: Grind the Rails to the Prison=
Clank beleives that Talwyn is imprisned somewhere inside Zordoom. Quark
recommends using the rail system to enter the prison.
As you land, head over to the Vendor. Today on offer is the Negotiator, the
rocket launcher of ToD. You should be able to afford it so go ahead and buy it.
Smash the crates around here and then take out the Tesla-Drones. Head forward
and up the stairs. There are cloaked (invisible) Drophyds at the top, hit them
to take down the cloak. To get on the Grindrail of certain death you need to
hack the bridge with the Decryptor. This map will show you that the spark
splits when it hits an intersection. Don't worry if a spark goes away as there
is only one Finish Diode.
The Grind Rail itself is quite simple. Just flip and jump and use the Swingshot
where nessecary. If you've played previous RaC games you'll chuckle at a few of
the cameos made over the intercom.
=Mission 2: Jailbreak=
Talwyn is locked up in the highest security level of Zordoom Prison. Relentless
hordes of imperial troops stand in your way.
***CHECKPOINT***
After the Grind Rail of Certain (apparent) Death, you'll be going along the
Walkway of Certain Death, more commonly known as a Gravity Ramp. If you ignore
Captain Qwark's warning about the spotlights, you can actully trigger the
defence and get some exerince from the turret there beyong the Drones. At the
top of the Gravity Ramp is a Bolt Crank guarded by a spotlight. Trigger it and
destroy the turret if you want to ease the task. There are also two Chests
behind the Turret as well. After fully turning the Bolt Crank, and elevator
will lower. Take it up to a Combat Device Vendor.
There's a new Combat Device for sale: the Visi-Copter. This device is
controlled with the SIXAXIS and is a flying turret. You can fire missiles and
even self-detonate it. This is handy for picking off enemies before you
properly fight them. If you're hit while using it though, it'll blow up
automatically so you can defend yourself. Also, Visi-Copters come at a hefty
price of 10,000 bolts a pop.
Boost jump over to the Drones, destroy them, and head up the Grav-Ramp to the
right. Hop over the electricity beams. Again, trigger the spotlights only if
you want to take out the turret. Do the same around the U-Bend on the left.
Head up to the top of the ramp and continue on.
***CHECKPOINT***
Drop down and take out the Mechs here. If you head right you'll find a Jackpot
crate guarded by some Drones. Head back and hack the bridge with the Decryptor.
This one may take a couple of goes to get right.
You are able to destroy those Spider Mechs there, but only after a tough fight,
so activate them at your own risk. Head over to the other side and Swing to the
cloaked Drophyd's, and two more from the archway. Head in and defeat the
Drones. Don't worry about the arms poking out of the cells, they won't hurt
you. But the Jetpack Drophyd's will.
Ahead is the elevator shaft. You'll notice two Decryptor pads.
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
The one on the left will open an elevator. Head to it to try and crack it.
The puzzle ain't too hard, so if you run into trouble look at it from a
different angle.
Head up the elevator to the second floor. Smash the Chests here on the way to
the Gold Bolt.
###############################################################################
The one on the right will open the elevator shaft (much quicker than fighting
your way level by level in the Prison). This puzzle isn't too hard. Once done,
hop down the elevator shaft and guide Ratchet through the gaps in the laser
defence grid to the bottom to Cell Block 12. Defeat the Mechs that swarm out
and head forawrd. Before you get to the Cell Transports, some Drophyds, two
flying, the rest sheilded, will pour out. Head through the archway to the Cell
Transports (there's a Vendor on your right). Hack the Decyptor puzzle to get
Talwyn. This one is a bit tricky at the end. Mid-way through the spark will
split, one going down, the other going right. The one going right will then hit
another split. Have the one going down jump to the circut end directly below
to take a shortcut, giving you enough time to tend to the original spark.
***CHECKPOINT***
=Misson 3: Escape from Zordoom=
Talwyn is free! Fight alongside her and get out alive.
Head back through the hallway and fight more sheilded and flying Drophyds.
Before getting back into the elevator, head back and top up at the Vendor (you
won't be able to get back to it from here). As the elevator heads up, battle
Drophyd's of varying classes, then head through the door. A cell is open in the
route back, which was supposedly Cronk and Zephyr's. Smash the crates inside
and move on.
Now you'll have to fight a Spider Meck. If you don't feel up to it, run up the
ramp on the left. Head up the next ramp regardless to find a turret and flying
Mechs. Turn right and Stretch Jump down to the donut area. Defeat the Sheilds,
head right, defeat the Flyers, and swing over to more Mechs and Sheilds. Head
through the hallway ahead and top up at the Vendor.
***CHECKPOINT***
Head into the Elevator Shaft. Be ready, you can't go back to the Vendor. 5
waves of Flyers will come out, so defeat them all. Head left at the end and
up the ramp. Head down the Grav-Ramp to Drones, a Spider and Fliers.
@@@-HOLO-PLAN-@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Head left from here and smash the stack of crates on the far end to get the
Holo-Plan!
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Head right and take the taxi back to your ship. On your way you'll see Chests
and a Gold Bolt. We're about to head to these.
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
This is the most extensive Gold Bolt area in the game, so this'll be a long
segment. First head left from your ship and hop onto the Heli-Pod Platform. Use
it to float up and use another one to float over. You'll notice the next one
on the right already has a Hei-Pod assigned to it. Simply shoot it down to have
the platform float to you. Open the door ahead.
In the next room, drop down to where the Drones are and defeat them. To start,
Pull up the Door on the left, and defeat the Drones that come out. In here you
will notice Clank's Geo-Laser going off, but going to the 'correct' spot won't
work. You'll have to get upstairs. Head outside and pull up the platform
closest to the ledge you just jumped down. Go up the stairs on the right and
hop over it and to the platform on the left. In the room here, use the
Geo-Laser to cut down one of the metal walls. Inside are three Chests, so smash
them to collect some booty. Head outside and back down. Lift up the platform
again and then pull up the opposite one, then quickly head upstairs and cross
them to get to the other side.
Drop down the steps here and head right to open the door. Use the Bolt Crank
outside to pull open a fan. Use the Heli-Pods to pull up a platform, just like
you did on Ardolis. On the way, open the next fan on the left and quickly
replace the Heli-Pod lifting the platform. Do this again around the corner, to
the fan on the right. Destroy the Tesla Drones and pull up another fan. Pull
up the platform. Repeat the last routine, but instead of opening the fan
gates, you'll need to destroy the Heli-Pod currently keeping it closed. A long
range weapon like the Negotiator or the Disruptor will be great here. Hop over
to the platform to collect the Gold Bolt. Smash the Chests here and then use
the Teleporter to get back to Aphelion.
###############################################################################
Hop into Aphelion to blast off to Jasindu!

=Praxus Sector #PXS=
============================
Verdigris Black Hole #VBC=
============================
=Mission 1: Escape From Slag's Clutches=
Captain Slag has caught up to you and he thinks you have the Lombax booty he's
been searching for. Evade or destroy his ships, or you'll become Lombax stew.
This is the last Space-ship flight in the game, so if you're annoyed by these,
you can breath a sigh of releif. Shoot down the fighters as you head forwards,
then gaze at the black hole as you turn through the comet. Destroy more
fighters as you fly to the Battleship. Don't forget to shoot the Special
Target here if you want the Gold Bolt. Shoot down the battlship's turrets as
you fly past, and more fighters. Once you get close to the Black Hole, you'll
pull up and fly towards the ice moon. Shoot the Raritanium Prisms before you
enter the minefield and go through the Health ring. In the minefield is another
Special Target, and at the end a Health Ring.
The turrets here fire lasers that'll sweep over the screen and leave a large
trail behind them. You can shoot them down if you want, but you may miss the
trail of Prisms and the Special Target at the end. You'll then fly into the
canyons of the moon. Shoot the yellow targets here and the giant icicles (there
will be another special target on the left). At the end, shoot through the fans
and through the Health Ring. It's hard to get both Prisms here, so don't worry
if you miss on.
As Clank, shoot down the large tower and any evacuating ships. Near the end,
a large chunk of the moon will float by the top of the screen. Behind it is the
last Special Target.
You'll be back as Ratchet next. Shoot down more fighters and a large Battleship
will loom in. Shoot it's Blue Target as you fly under it. Another ship will fly
in, so repeat the process of shooting fighters and then the Blue Target (the
fighters actually fly in an X path, shoot in the middle of the X to lazily get
all the fighters). Shoot more fighters and then destroy the next (upside-down)
Battleship. You'll then get sucked into the Black Hole.
***CHECKPOINT***
Fly through the Health Rings to take on Greasepalms McGee.
+++BOSS FIGHT: GREASEPALMS MCGEE+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
His strategy is the same as Iron Crotch Caruso and Puffy Pants Wallace: Move
and shoot. Keep at it and you'll beat him in no time!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
**Skill Points**
*Expert Marksman: Kill 75% of all of the enemies
I didn't have much trouble with this one, just in the natural course of
things.
*Can't Touch This:
*Pyew Pyew: Complete Verdigrin Black Hole without secondary fire.
Just don't use the L1 Torpedoes.
====================================
=Kerchu City, Planet Jasindu #KCJ=
====================================
Kerchu City is the captial of the Kerchu domain. The Kerchu are fiercly hostile
to any form of trespass on their planets, but such trangressions are rare as
all life forms in the galaxy are allergic to their species. The GrummelNet
intergalactic travel guice puts Kerchu City above Zordoom Prison and the
sulphur mines of Praxus VI on its list of worst vacation spots in the universe.
=Mission 1: Search the Gel Facility=
The Kerchu have a hidden gelatonium mining facility on the planet. There may be
useful technology inside the facility.
As soon as you start, explore the forested area here for crates and the Vendor.
For sale today are the Razor Claws. These are melee weapons that get more
powerful as you use them. Once again, this weapon shouldn't cost too much, so
go ahead and spend your bolts on it.
Don't jump over the islands to the next area. First, we need to search the Gel
Facility for good stuff. Near your ship is an elevator to take you to the
facility. Fill up the Gelenator and head through the door. Kill the Fire Mech
and the Goofs in here, then thoroughly search this cave area for crates and
such. On the far right (from the door), you can bounce up a legdge, turn left,
and bounce over to another ledge with a couple more crates. Turn left here to
spot a Gelatonium sign at the base of a cliff, to the left of the door you
came here through. At the top of the cliff are two Chests. Head over there and
bounce up to collect the goods. Head on over to the Gelatonium pool and hop to
the island and kill some Goofs. Here, throw a cube or two into the lake to
bounce on up the cliff.
Kill the Goofs and then throw a cube onto the large button to open the door
ahead. This can be difficult, so I reccomend throwing them on while standing on
the ramp leading up to the door. In the next room, jump up to the Bolt Crank on
the right and open the next door. To avoid the Gel-Eaters below from eating
your Gelatonium Cubes, throw a cube onto the plate the Bolt Crank Plate the
Bolt is sticking out of, then bounce through the door.
In the next area, throw a cube into the Gelatonium pool and bounce to the other
side, then killthe Goofs. For the next bit, throw a double cube onto the marked
plate just as the electricity beams stop. It is possible of course to just
throw one just in front of the beams and not have to worry about it (Full Cubes
work best as they clear the height of the beams). At the top, turn the Crank
and bounce through the door. Hop down to the island.
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
Throw a Full Cube out into the large lake and bounce over to the area on the
left. Behind the large Gelatonium Tanks is your prize!
###############################################################################
Bounce over the river to the area on the right with the Goofs on it. Kill them
and turn to Crank to open the door. Bounce over the river to get through it
(clearing the ledge under it of the Goofs of course). For the next area,
quickly lay a Full Cube to bounce up to the top before the Gel-Eater eat it (of
course). The next section will need you to throw down a Full Cube into the Gel,
past the electric beams. Thrown another Full Cube below the door from the
current one. Through the door, kill the Goofs and the Fire Mech up the stairs.
Turn the Crank here and head through the door.
Go up the Jump Slot and into the next room. In here, stand near the door on the
other end and quickly lay down a Full Cube on the button, then Rush through the
door. On the bridge you'll find a prize!
[You have acquired the Box Basher 2000! In addition to an increased Bolt pick
up range, the Box Basher 2000 allows you to use your overhead attack and break
nearby boxes with a special air blast!]
This is a very handy item, as it saves Fusion Grenade ammo from blowing up
large crate stacks. Also handy is the fact that the air blast range is the same
as your new bolt pickup range. Just bash and forget! Head into the next room to
try it out. As you'll find, it also detonates TNT crates! It will not have any
effect on Metal crates, however.
Empty your Gelenator in the corner and head through the door to teleport back
to Aphelion.
=Mission 2: The Road to Kerchu City=
According to the IRIS Supercomputer, Max Apogee hid the Dimensionator somewhere
in Kerchu City. Search the city and claim the lost Lombax Secret!
Oddly, this mission is completed as soon as you land. So, uhh... good job?
=Mission 3: Fight Your Way into the City=
Slag's pirates have followed you and are now attaching Kerchu City. Fight the
pirates and locate the Dimensionator before they find it themselves.
So, from here, walk down and take out the Goofs (if you haven't done that
already). Hop over the islands and kill any Goofs along the way, including the
mainland part. Head up the clifflets and take out the elite pirates. Yes, these
scallywags are the toughest batch of grog-swingers, so watch out. Head forward
and take out the Fire Mech they were shooting at. Head into the clearing ahead
to take one several waves, including Sheilds dropped in from above.
@@@-HOLO-PLAN-@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Head to the right side of the clearing to find a ledge. Boost jump up to it to
find a Chest, and the Holo-Plan in a stack of crates!
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Head forward to take on more pirates, including a Maniac bursting through the
metal wall. Don't forget the Fire Mech on top of the building. Head inside it
for two more pirates, then smash through the next wall. When you do another
swarm of pirates come in. Head outside.
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
Make a U-Turn to the right to find a set of rock stairs. Hop up them to find
the end of a zip-line. Get on top of the yellow building and smash the
Raritanium Chest. Head up the next set of stairs on the other side and destroy
two more pirates, then right into the building. Kill the Maniac inside here,
then across the bridge. Kill two more pirates, then turn right again to find
the Gold Bolt! Hop onto the zip-line to get back to the action.
###############################################################################
Ahead, use the Holo-Pirate Diguise to sneak around the turret and kill him
before he causes too much trouble. Smash the Chest on the left and then hop
onto their ship. No pirate tour here, but still enemies coming at ya. Ok, just
one, but still. At the end of the ride, hop off to the Vendor.
***CHECKPOINT***
=Mission 4: Get past the Kerchu Defenses=
The Kerchu don't know what the Dimensionator is, but they'll do anything to
keep you from getting it. Survive their deadly onslaught and find the
Dimensionator.
Destroy the Fire Mech ahead. Yup, more Kerchu, however they are the same as
they were on Sargasso, so they should be easier now. Head up through the gap in
the wall and turn left to spot some Rollers. Groovitron them so they are easier
to tackle. You can't smash through that next metal wall, so move on. Head up
the road the Rollers came from and turn right to take on a Flame Mech. You can
turn left here and spot the place where you landed. At the next area, a pirate
ship will SMASH through a wall and drop off troop, and at the same time,
Rollers will move in. Bunch up the enemies by running around them, then throw
out a Groovitron to get 'em boogying.
Head up the ramp once you're done and turn right. Head down the hallway, smash
the crates, and take on the two pirates and Maniac. Ahead is the metal wall you
tried to get through earlier. You can't destroy it from this end either. Head
back and turn right. Defeat the pirates when they come up on the elevator and
then use it to travel down. Swing over using the Versa-Targets ahead to get to
a Weapons Vendor and Combat Device Vendor. Stock up your Groovitrons, you'll
need them for the bit ahead.
You'll notice two new Devices for sale: The Visi-Copter and Transmorpher. The
Visi-Copter is a cousin of the Visibomb of RaC1 fame. You move it using the
SIXAXIS, using Square the dive and X to rise. Circle fires out missiles. The
Transmorpher is the next generation of the Morph weapons from previous RaC
games. This bomb turns your enemies into... penguins!! They remain this way,
completely harmless, for 30 seconds. You need it for a few global Skill Points
and one on Ardolis.
***CHECKPOINT***
=Mission 5: Defeat the Kerchu Guardian=
A seemingly indesrtuctible mechanised Kerchu guardian stands between you and
the Dimensionator. Jump on the mag rail and defeat the Kerchu Guardian.
+++BOSS FIGHT: KERCHU GUARDIAN+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Note that if you die, you will have to re-do this whole mag rail section again,
so try to retain as much health as possible.
Hop onto the Grind Rail ahead (well, Ratchet does that for you), and jump over
the gaps the Guardian makes. In the next section, don't worrky about the
missiles, worry about jumping over the Gelatonium gas clouds. The missile
chasing you up the spiral also won't bother you, just jump over the shock
charges on the rail. On the three-rail section, hop onto a rail when a missile
gets too close (just like on Metropolis, except backwards). Again, jump over
the gas clouds as you perplexingly go up the rail and shock charges. You will
then spiral around and be upside-down!
Basically just keep attacking the Guardian. When he does a smash on it, move
away from the metal ball and jump over the blast it makes. This is crucial to
surviving the fight. When it destroys the bridge you're on, stay on it to fall
down to the lower section, which is an easier fight. This will happen when you
blow up one of it's Gelatonium canisters (1/4 of health).
Down below, ignore the Rollers the Guardian lets out entirely and circle around
it while firing. If the rollers get too much, toss out one of your Groovitrons
to ease the grip. Once this is done, you'll get the Dimensionator!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
(sort of). Use the teleporter here to get back to Aphelion.
**Skill Points**
*Dead Aim: Destroy 3 destructible towers while on the pirate barge
This can be a bit tricky due to you moving and that a pirate will come out
of the barge during the flight. Not to mention the fact that you need to exit
the level and come back to it to reset the towers (unless you jump off before
the flight ends. The best way to get this is to buy the R.Y.N.O. IV and just
let it rip in the approximate direction of the towers.
*Fire With Fire: Kill 2 Kerchu Pyroguards with the Pyro Blaster
The Pyroguards are what I refer to as Fire Mechs.
====================================
=Slag's Fleet, Ublik Passage #SUP=
====================================
Long ago, the Ublik Passage was a common space route between the Verdigris and
Praxus sectors. However, the passageway was made virtually unuseable when the
Cragmites detonated a nearby neutron star in order to block Allied Polaris
convoys. The residual radiation has made the passage unuseable to all but
robots and the hardiest of organic life forms.
=Mission 1: Infiltrate Slag's Fleet=
Captain Slag absconed with the Dimensionaotrand is reported to be lurking in
the Ublik Passage. Use your Holo-Pirate Disguise to get past his gated security
and retreive the Dimensionator before its too late.
Right off the bat, head to the Vendor. Here you'll find the last weapon you can
buy from the Vendor, the Mag-net Launcher, for 250,000 bolts. The Man-net
Launcher fires an electrically charged net that encases your enemies,
preventing them from attacking. This weapon also has the most Raritanium Mods
of any weapon in the game, great for Raritanium farming. Here, you'll also get
a Help Desk Message:
[To customise the Quick Select, pause the game and select the Quick Select
menu]
This is because you now have more weapons and gadgets than your Quick Select
can allow for. You can customise the Quick Select to organise your weapons and
Gadgets into specific Rings. This is handy if you need to upgrade certain
weapons, group Combat Devices, or reserve weapons for Raritanium Farming.
Anyways, head forward and take out the pirate here. Hop onto the ship and take
out the pirate who comes out to combat ya. Upon docking, kill the pirate on top
of the crate, then head forward and take down the group of pirates ahead. Turn
right and smash the detonators, and then take on the Mega SoggyBritches. After
defeating him, collect his Raritanium and dance through the door on the right.
Don't immediatly break your disguise upon entering, head over to the pirate on
the turret and take him out first. After combating the other pirates, turn the
Bolt Crank near the turret to lower the bridge. Take out the next two pirates.
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
@@@-HOLO-PLAN-@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Near the turret you may notice a Gravity Ramp. Head down it and then back up on
the other side. Smash the pile of crates here to get the Holo-Plan!!
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
But we're not done yet. Head right then left. Jump onto the small boat here and
use the Heli-Pods to lift it up to the top of the ship. Defeat the pirate on
here, then go to the far left side of the barge to find three Chests. To the
left of these Chests is the Gold Bolt! Take the zip-line here to get back down
to the main path.
###############################################################################
Head over to the bridge and find a Vendor on the right.
***CHECKPOINT***
The bridge here will retract when you get across, so be ready. Defeat the
pirates in the arena ahead. When you do, a Mega Britches will come up. Defeat
him quickly as a bunch of Sheilders drop in for a visit. Four Maniacs will then
teleport in, so be wary. After these are down, a bridge will extend and a swarm
of more pirates will come through. Defeat these. Cross the bridge and a pirate
will push in another Maniac. Defeat him and the pirate, and turn left to find
three Chests. Turn around and head down the right path. Turn left at the end to
take on a bunch of Sheilds dropped off by a ship. There will also be a turret.
Quickly head out and toss a Groovitron to distract him. Head forward to a
Vendor.
***CHECKPOINT***
Funnily enough this is where most people will often get stuck in the game.
Unless you completed the Gold Bolt path earlier, you probably won't remember
that the yellow icon on the little dinghy there is a Heli-Target. Use the
Heli-Pods to raise it and you up to the top of the ship!
Jump onto it to take on waves of pirate ships (2 of them). The routine will be
like this. First, a ship will fly in and shoot it's cannons. Use the Alpha
Disruptor or the Negotiator to take out the cannons while pirate board your
ship. Whether or not you do this successfully, some more pirates will teleport
in. They will stay there until you defeat them. The pirate ship will then swing
back to fire more cannon balls at you. Periodically some ammo will also be
dropped in.
***CHECKPOINT***
When the ship docks, head forward and take down the two Maniacs. Equip the H-P
Disguise and dance through the door. Walk inside and get behind the turret so
that you can take him out. Quickly do this and then hit the Jackpot crate
before getting the Chest behind him. Rush forward and clear the two pirates
there and get the next Chest. Head up the ramp (DO NOT use the Box Bash to
smash the crates on the left, there are Chests up the top which will break also
which wastes Raritanium), take on the next batch of pirates at the end, up the
ramp on the left, and take out the turret before he notices you. Take down two
more pirates and then smash the Chest at the end. If you're lucky you will have
retained your Jackpot bonus! Top up at the Vendor and turn right.
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
On the left side of the door here you'll spot a Gravity Ramp. Head up it until
you get to a balcony. Smash the Chest here and head through the doorway.
Defeat the Maniac here and launch the Gyro-Cycle. Boost right through the
tunnel to collect a Gold Bolt!
###############################################################################
Dance through the last Skull Door in the game to face Captain Slag.
=Mission 2: Defeat Captain Slag=
Captain Slag has challenged you to a duel. Defeat him and retreive the rightful
property of the Lombaxes.
+++BOSS FIGHT: CAPTAIN SLAG++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
This boss fight is the second hardest in the game, behind the Kerchu Guardian.
First off, remember that constant shooting is the key to this. When Slag shoots
a blue charge, shooting it will destroy it. That's why using the Pyro Blaster
is a good attacking method. Slag is electrically charged in this level, so the
Mag-Net Launcher will be of no use here. Once Captain Slag gets knocked back,
he'll fall back and release his pirate minions. Defeat these waves quickly
before Slag jumps into the arena again. The Mag-Net Launcher is a good choice
as it's fire and forget, plus you can keep your distance. However it does have
a short supply of nets. When that runs out of ammo, the Negotiator is the next
best thing.
Into the third round, Slag will use his Fire-Grog-Breath to light up the
battlefeild. The fire will remain on the floor for a long time, so remember
this. The Pyro Blaster (or better yet, the Incinerator) will end this fight
quite quickly.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
After the fight, head forwards to find the Treasure Mapper!!
[You have acquired the Treasure Mapper. This cleverly named device will reveal
all hidden areas and Gold Bolts. A must have for any pirate on the go!]
Gold Bolts are not only marked in areas with flashing green on the map, but
also get their own icon on the map too. Another benefit is that in Aphelion's
Map Screen, Holo-Plan planets are marked with a square icon. Grey means that
a Holo-Plan is yet to be found, White means it has already been found, and no
icon at all means that there is no Holo-Plan on that planet at all.
Head into the teleporter to get back to Aphelion.
**Skill Point**
*Six Gun Salute: Get 6 pirates in a row to salute Ratchet while wearing the
Holo-Pirate Disguise.
In a row means without deactivating the Holo-Pirate Disguise. You can
actually also just get one pirate and make him salute you six times!
======================================
=Cragmite Ruins, Planet Reepor #CPR=
======================================
Planet Reepor was once the capitol of the Great Cragmite Empire. The Cragmites
wiped out over a dozen races and decimated countless others at the pinnacle of
their empire's rule. Percival Tachyon's empire, by comparison, is the merest
shadow of the invincible power the Cragmites once held.
=Mission 1: Search the Cragmite Homeworld=
Qwark attempted to destroy the Dimensionator in order to redeem himself.
Unfortunately his spacecraft's auto-pilot took him to the Cragmite homeworld!
Find him and retreive the Dimensionator before Tachyon does.
Straight off the bat, guide Ratchet around and away from the missiles.
***CHECKPOINT***
=Mission 2: Secure the area=
Tachyon's forces know you are here! Fight off the imperial assault troops and
secure the area. From there your team can form a strategy to break into the
stronghold.
Here in the Verdigris Sector, the Drophyd Mechs are at their most elite form,
again, you'll need to use more powerful weaponry to defeat them. If you need to
top up, use the Vendor on your right, plus some regenerating Ammo crates near
Qwark's crashed ship in the middle. For now, keep fighting the waves of enemies
here. By now you should be able to fight quite well on your own. Be careful of
the Spider Mechs though.
Also, if you are having trouble here, head up the steps at the back to find
your ship and an Armour Vendor. For sale is the Terraflux armour. Don't worry
about the fact that it's Cragmite armour, sometimes the best is found in the
hands of the enemy. You may not be able to afford this one, however.
Eventually through the fight, a Drophyd Commander will radio about a prisoner.
***CHECKPOINT***
=Mission 3: Escort Cronk and Zephyr=
Help Cronk and Zephyr get to the heavy artillery turrets, so they can destroy
the field generators. With the forcefields down you will be able to enter the
sronghold.
When you start this, immediately on your left a Cyclo-Cannon will roll out.
Take it down along with three more troops to allow Zephyr to blow up the
forcefield here. Head inside, defeat the troops, and activate the Tri-Pad to
allow Zephyr to brag about his Online capabilities (and for Cronk to remark
about his CPU). In here you'll also find a Combat Device Vendor (no new Devices
today).
Head back outside and take out two more Cyclo-Cannons and more troops. Once
they are all dead, Cronk will head over to the forcefield on the left and take
it down.
@@@-HOLO-PLAN-@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Before you enter, jump over to the stack of crates on the left side to get
another peice of the Holo-Plan!!
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Head in and take out another Cyclo-Cannon. Defeat it and activate the Tri-Pads.
Head back outside to take on yet more troops, Hover-Saucers and Spider Mechs,
while Cronk and Zephyr destroy the forcefields.
***CHECKPOINT***
=Mission 4: Breach the Cragmite Sronghold=
Enter the Cragmite Sronghold and retreive the Dimensionator. Tachyon has
retreated to the Inner Sanctum, which is defended by his nearly invincible
Obsidian Enforcers.
Once the forcefields are down, head up to the elevator, and when it lowers,
defeat the Spider Mech. After it goes down, head right to find a Chest hidden
behind some crates, and then left for another. Head up the elevator to defeat
another Spider Mech. After this, head to the wall on the right of the
forcefield and cut through the wall with the Geo-Laser. Once in, head up to the
elevator and ride it up.
=Mission 5: Search for Ratchet=
Harness the power of the Zoni to escape the underground cavern and learn of
Ratchet's fate.
Ratchet's gone! Start your search heading forwards. Those ugly, naked bird-like
creatures are a type of Cragmite. Fear not, for Clank is able to defeat them
quite well, provided you slow down time. Head left to find a batch of Zoni, and
use them to open the cliff. Head forward through the mini geysers and find more
Zoni on the right. Use one of them to energise the platform. Head over it to
the Cragmites and knock them out. Turn left to spot several grey square peices
you can Manipulate to cross. Head over to the Cragmites (if you're nervous
about crossing, slowing down time will also slow Clank down a bit). Use two
more Zoni to pull over the bridge so you can cross, then manipulate more
squares at the end of it. Head all the way around, and then Levitate over to
the nearby island. Pass through the geysers in slo-mo to find more Zoni.
Levitate to the bridge and then cross the squares again to energise the bridge
over to you.
Turn right and Levitate over to the island of Cragmites. Defeat them and
Manipulate the rocks out of the way. Head forward and Levitate over the Geyser
islands to reach the end. Clank will then have a flashba-I mean, flashFORWARD.
=Mission 5: Escape the Cragmite Caves=
Ratchet is alive, but lost in underground caves filled with Cragmites. Be
warned, these Cragmites have been yearning revene against the Lombax race for
centuries!
A RaC staple, a portion of the game without Clank! Top up at the Vendor and
hop over the Islands. Head round the corner to face your first Cragmites.
Cragmites have the annoying ability to teleport, and when they are doing this
they cannot be hurt. Thus, the Mag-Net Launcher is a great weapon for making
them stay still. When they are defeated, they will split into several mini
Cragmites (the ones you fought as Clank), making them lengthy enemies.
Head forward to the next area. Here you'll find those annoying spawning towers
again! Destroy them before they become too annoying. Head up the clifflets and
then swing over to the next area. Defeat the waves of Cragmites here and then
the towers. Once you're done, some Staggies will fall from the ceiling. Jump
over them to a Vendor.
***CHECKPOINT***
You'll notice here a ledge below, but there is absolutely no way to get to it.
Instead, jump forward and up the hill. Shoot out the towers before they cause
any trouble. Go back to the Vendor and top up before you head to the next area.
There, shoot down all the Cragmites. At the end, some more Staggies will fall,
allowing you to continue.
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
On the first Staggie, turn right. Jump over to the next Staggie and look down
to find a platform with a Heli-Target on it. Jump down to it and have it lift
you up to the top of the ledge. Head left and up the cliff steps to a Chest and
a Gold Bolt!
###############################################################################
Head over to the elevator and use to get back to Talwyn. Before you get to
Meridian City, head to the Armour Vendor and purchase the Terraflux armour, as
you should be able to afford it by now.
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
Now that you have Clank again, head back up the elevator and all the way back
to the Vendor. Turn right and Stretch Jump over to the island. Jump up the
stairs to find two Chests, accompanied by a Gold Bolt!
###############################################################################
**Skill Point**
*Gotta Catch 'Em All: Hit all Cragmite Warriors with the Mag-Net Launcher.
Now, you could either do this the hard way on the first visit to the planet,
making contant trips back to the Vendor, or you could do the following: After
beating the planet the first time, leave, then come back. Head up the elevator
and defeat all the small Cragmites here, then kill the big one that appears.
This will net you the Skill Point easy peasy!
=====================================
=Meridian City, Planet Igliak #MPI=
=====================================
Meridian City is capital of Free Polaris, which consists of all the planets and
sectors not yet under the rule of Emperor Tachyon. The emperor has longed for
years to seize control of Meridian City, but his armies were no match for the
combined forces of the free planets in the Verdigris Sector.
=Mission 1: Save Meridian City=
The Cragmites are invading the capital city of the Polaris Galaxy. They must be
stopped or Tachyon's army will control all of Polaris!
To start, head forwards to the bunch of Cragmites. They are being spawned from
a tower up the top of the ledge. Up here, you'll battle two more Cragmites.
Head forward a bit to face two more. Turn left into the trees before the
Gravity Ramp to find a Raritanium Chest. Head up the Gravity Ramp and to the
Vendor.
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
Turn back to the Gravity Ramp when next to the Vendor, and then look down. On a
nearby dome, near the top, will be the Gold Bolt. Glide down to it to collect
it!
###############################################################################
From the Vendor, hop over the gap and turn left to find a Chest hidden behind
some crates. Head in and take down the Spider Mech and the two Cragmites.
@@@-HOLO-PLAN-@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Head up the ladder and make a U-Turn to the rght around the ledge. Smash the
Crates here to find the Holo-Plan!
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Also up on the balcony is a Raritanium Chest near the red forcefield. Stand on
the button in front of the forcefield to deactivate it, then head down the
Grav-Ramp.
***CHECKPOINT***
Here, top up at the Vendors and take out the Towers up the ledge. Kill the
larger Cragmites up the top as well. Remember that if you are low on health and
there are no Health crates around, you can return to the Vendor, who gives you
and instant Health Refill.
Head into the hallway to take on another Spider Mech. Take it down along with
the Tower on the left of it if that didn't get destroyed in the battle
beforehand. Destroy the Chests next to the elvator before heading up it.
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
If you hold on going up it, however, you can turn around and follow the pillars
on the left side. Between the last two is a balcony. Head out onto it and look
below to find a Gold Bolt! Stretch Jump over to it. Getting back is a bit of a
complex affair. Walk over the shiny chromed portion, making Ratchet head
forward and yet into the wall at the same time to keep him safe. When you get
near the mainland, jump over to it.
###############################################################################
Up here is a Decryptor puzzle. Solving it shouldn't really be at all too hard
by now and should only take one or two goes. When the door opens, head up the
stairs to defeat some more Cragmites. On second thought, stay at the base of
the stairs, it's a bit safer down there. After you do this, you'll find your
ship to the right and a new area forwards. Out there you'll find an Armour and
a Combat Device Vendor. For sale is the last Combat Device: The Death Springs!
Death Springs work much like the Bouncer from RaC2 and 3, in that they release
explosive charges that cover a large area of ground. If you haven't bought the
latest armour, now would be a good time to do so.
=Mission 2: Rescue Qwark=
Qwark has sent out a distress call. Use the Gyro-Cycle to navigate the city's
sector 3 construction zone and find Qwark.
Activate the G-C and into the contruction zone. Head to the left and over the
crumbling concrete. Head over the bridge and through the tunnel, collecting the
Raritanium (and smashing through the Cragmites you find inside!). At the end,
turn right around and activate the Tri-Pads on the right, then launch up to the
next area.
***CHECKPOINT***
The next portion of conrete requires you to use the terra-thruster to make it
across. Hold down X to do this. Turn left and repeat over the next portion, and
the launch to the end.
=Rescue Qwark - Part 2=
Qwark's signal is coming from the other side of the city's air tunnel
expressway. Use Clank's Robo-Wings to navigate the tunnel and find Qwark.
Activate the Robo-Wings and fly through the tunnel. Some of the falling signs
here require you to fly OVER them instead of under, so be aware of that. Any
traffic is also not too much of a hassle. At the end, defeat the two Cragmites
to find Qwark. After the cutscene, take the teleporter back to your ship to
head back to Fastoon!
**Skill Points**
*Stay Still So I Can Shoot You!: Use strafe flip 10 times while fighting the
Cragmite Warriors.
Simple enough, just make sure a Cragmite is fighting you at the time. Don't
worry if you get hit.
*Now Boarding: Complete the Gyro-cycle area in 0:55 without dying.
If you have some skill with the Gyro-Cycle this one should be cake. Just
don't forget to use the terra-thruster. If you fail on an attempt, you will
have to go through the Robo-Wings segment to be able to get back for a retry.
*Low Flying Howls: Fly under an electrified barrier with the Robo-Wings.
There's an electric barrier right at the start of the air tunnel section you
fly through, and getting under it is easy enough. I actually touch it once
while going under and still got the Point. You need to go through the
Gyro-Cycle course to get here again.
==========================
=Return to Fastoon #RTF=
==========================
Planet Fastoon was once the home world of the Lombax race. The planet was
ravaged by war years ago and is now entirely abandoned. The location of the
surviving Lombaxes remains one of the galaxy's great mysteries. Fastoon is now
occupied solely by scavengers who hunt for scraps of Lombax Technology.
=Mission 1: Return to Fastoon=
Clank beleives Tachyon has gone to planet Fastoon. This is the last chance to
stop him before he opens more portals with the Dimensionator.
Strangely, this mission is acheived as soon as you get there. Logic and all
that.
***CHECKPOINT***
=Mission 2: Destroy the Magna-Cannons=
Tachyon has installed heavy artillery Magna-Cannons on Fastoon as part of the
Cragmite colonization. Destroy then so Talwyn can land and join the battle.
First, guide Ratchet one last time around the missiles until you land. When you
do, take down the Drophyds and the cannon. A bonus area can be found by heading
left, and then up the awkward cliff stairs on the left. Defeat more Drophyds,
as well as some more Chests. Once done, turn around and head towards the next
batch. Once they are down, head up the Gear Statue Structure and down the
zip-line. DO NOT DIE UP HERE, as you have a large batch of prescious Raritanium
here and you need to defeat the Cragmite. Thus, the Mag-Net Launcher is a great
choice to keep the enemy, *ahem*, busy. Take out the cannon and hop down to
rejoin Cronk and Zephyr.
If you need ammo, there are four repswaning ammo crates under the gear
structure. The next set of enemies is to the right on the far end. Take them
and the Cragmite down and follow up on the cannon. As you do, also take down
the Hover-Saucers.
Swing over the canyon to the Shields. Take them down and the Cragmites, and
again follow up on the Turret. Use the Versa Targets to get back. Head up the
Gravity Ramp to the right and inside. Defeat more Cragmite, then go through the
hallway to find some Chests, and futher to find another cannon. Defeat the
Drophyds that warp in and then blow up the cannon.
***CHECKPOINT
=Mission 3: Cover Talwyn=
Protect Talwyn while she hacks the controls to the bridge.
Head over to Talwyn and defend her from all the forces that attack her, Cronk,
Zephyr, and of course you (you're taking part in this fight too, y'know). You
will be heading right around the gear structure here so keep a lookout for the
next wave of enemies. Once she's opened the bridge, head right up it.
***CHECKPOINT***
=Mission 4: Enter the Court of Azimuth=
Destroy the Cragmites bocking your path and enter the Court of Azimuth.
Simple as it says. At the top of the bridge is a Vendor, so come back here as
you run out of ammo on the powerful weapons as you defeat the Craggiemites (as
Cronk would say) above, or when you run low on Health. Once they're all dead,
head into the Court.
=Mission 5: Find Tachyon=
Tachyon has barricaded himself inside the Court of Azimuth. Defeat his Cragmite
hordes and protect Talwyn as she disables Tachyon's force fields.
Head forwards to the Gravity Ramp and head up it. Defeat the Cragmite on the
way. If you look carefully on the first bend down, you will be able to see the
forcefield and the battlefields you'll be fighting in. In the room at the end
you'll find one of all three Vendors. Top up on everything, especially Armour.
If you haven't gotten the latest armour, please do.
***CHECKPOINT***
Stand on the button in front of the door to head to the next area. After
defeating the Cragmites, head to the right of the entry door to find some
Chests. To get to the next area, hack the door with the Decryptor near where
Cronk and Zephyr are waiting. This last puzzle is all about speed and how fast
you are at getting to the next jump point, plus some jumps may require some
alternate thinking, but not too much. After opening the door, head back and top
up at the Vendor, then head to the next area. Defeat all the Cragmites here
until they stop.
@@@-HOLO-PLAN-@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
This is the last Holo-Plan in the game! Head to the right of the arena near the
entryway. Destroy the stack of crates to find it! But hold up on heading to the
Smuggler, we'll do that in a sec.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Stand on the Tri-Pads to bring up the Bolt Crank, and turn it all the way. Then
fight yet more Cragmites and Talwyn figures out the forcefield controls. When
she finally does, she'll be able to help out, but don't be surprised if you
this a tough little fight. Once it's done, stand on the remaining switch to
take down the forcefield. Top up at the Vendor and then head up the stairs for
the Final Showdown!!
###-GOLD BOLT-#################################################################
But before you do, head under one of the pillars in the middle of the arena for
the final Gold Bolt!
###############################################################################
If you have all the Holo-Plans, you may want to go to Sargasso and talk to the
Smuggler to have him build the superweapon.
+++BOSS: EMPEROR TACHYON+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The main premise of this fight is: KEEP SHOOTING! Through all the stages you'll
be wanting to do this. When things get hairy, use a Groovitron to stall Tachyon
so you can shoot him wihtout worry. In the final stages he'll release a giant
swarm of missiles, so look out for those. This is really an endurance test of
dodging and who can drag their health out the longest. Beat Tachyon in the test
to pass it and beat the game!!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
**Skill Point**
Nowhere to Hide: Destroy every peice of breakable cover.
This one is simple yet hard. Smash all of the cover around the level. The
good thing is that you will get the Skill Point sometimes before you get them
all. The bad news is that if you die the cover is reset.
=======================
=Challenge Mode #CGM=
=======================
=Introduction=
Challenge Mode is an alternate mode of the game. You access it by defeating
the last boss, where you can choose either to Time Warp to Before you Defeated
Him, or to start Challenge Mode. The Time Warp feature is handy for going back
through the previous levels and getting missed Skill Points which are easier
in Normal Mode than they are in Challenge Mode, as well as upgrading your
current weapons to V5.
In Challenge Mode you keep everything you currently own, including Bolts,
Raritanium, Armour, Gold Bolts, Skins, Skill Points and Cheats, Weapons, and a
few Items, as well as all the Gadgets you started with. Things you lose include
the following:
-Gadgets-
-Heli-Pods
-Gelenator
-Holo-Pirate Disguise
-Items-
-Geo-Laser
-Infobots
-Decryptor
-Gyro-Cycle
-Tachyon Statues
On the Item side, you keep the O2 Mask, Treasure Mapper, the Box Basher 2000
and the Armour Magnetiser.
When you finish a Challenge Mode round, you can elect to start the game again.
This is handy for upgrading and collecting as the Challenge Mode round is
essentially reset, aside from the features noted above.
=Challenge Mode Features=
Challenge Mode is rife with new features to keep you playing again and again!
=Harder Opponents
The first feature is tougher enemies. Right from the getgo the enemies are a
lot tougher. If you try to take down the first few Drophyd's with your V5
Magma Combustor than you're in for a tough fight. However, with new power comes
more experience. Challenge Mode is a great way to quickly upgrade your older
weapons to V5.
=Omega Weapons
And why should you do this? Well the next feature are the Omega Weapons. When
you get to Cobalia and activate the Vendor you'll find them for sale. However
you can only purchase an Omega Weapon if you have upgraded the older weapon to
V5. The R.Y.N.O. IV is also available as an Omega Weapon (crazy as it is).
The downside is that the Omega weapons have prices so high they'd make Slim
Cognito faint.
NOTE: You cannot get Omega Combat Devices.
=Bolt Multipier
To counter this, Challenge Mode gives you the Bolt Multipier. This is the best
feature of Challenge Mode. As you fight through the game, a multiply icon
(similar to the one you see when breaking a Jackpot crate) will appear under
your bolt counter. This is the literal number of how much your current bolts
are multiplied by. The amount goes up depending on the number of enemies you
kill, and this number increases to make it harder to get to the next
multiplier level. The Bolt Multiplier maxes out at 20x. Remember that the Bolt
Multiplier does NOT reset if Ratchet drowns or falls into obvlivion.
Note that the Jackpot crate does not affect the Bolt Multiplier so don't expect
a 40x anytime soon). Speaking of which, like the Jackpot Crate, the Bolt
Multiplier also affects the Raritanium you collect. Finally, Consumer Bots DO
NOT increase the Multiplier.
=Increased Rewards
The amount of bolts you will get when defeating an arena challenge or selling
your Leviathan Souls to the Smuggler also increase to aid in purchasing the
Omega Weapons. Just like Normal Mode, the amount of bolts the Smuggler offers
you for Leviathan Souls increases the later on you sell them to him. In
Challenge Mode, his original offers are multiplied by 100, so he'll offer
200,000 per Soul on Cobalia, 400,000 on the Nundac Asteroid Ring and 800,000 on
Sargasso. You will therefore earn a total of 170,400,000 bolts should you sell
your Souls at the earliest opurunity, and a total of 230,200,000 bolts if you
sell them all on Sargasso.
Prizes at the Imperial Fight Festival are also multiplied by 100. All these
increased rewards are not affected by the Bolt Multiplier mentioned earlier.
=Harder Decryptor Puzzles=
Right from the first Decryptor Puzzle, you'll notice that all of them are now
harder puzzles. These are ones which got rejected from the Normal Mode, or some
made to be especially tricky. This guide will not cover them, I'll leave it to
outsider90909's Decryptor Guide to do that.
===============
=Extras #EXT=
=============================
=General Skill Points #GSP=
=============================
General Skill Points can be acheived at any point in the game, however some
will require you to visit multiple planets.
Skill Points were first introduced in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage (Gateway to Glimmer
for PAL territories). These are special acheivments in the game which unlock
various Cheats. You cannot get a Skill Point more than once.
=No, Up YOUR Arsenal=
-Upgrade every weapon to the max-
Value: 40
This Skill Point does not mean upgrading the weapons to V5. In actuality, it
means VX (V10 in other words), so it requires you to go into Challenge Mode.
The title is a reference to the Resistance Skill Point, Up Your Arsenal, which
was earned by getting all of the weapons in the game (even the secret ones).
=Roflcopter=
-Turn an enemy into a penguin, then use the Visi-copter to destroy the
penguin-
Value: 20
Just as it says. If you're not good with the Visi-copter, move to a safe
distance after Transmorphing the enemies.
=Golden Children=
-Find all the Gold Bolts-
Value: 40
Just as it says. You can find the Gold Bolts in every returnable level in the
game. They are listed throughout my guide, and also in another FAQ on GameFAQs.
=Cheapskate=
-Purchase a signle Combuster shot-
Value: 10
To do this, fire a shot, then head to a Vendor and select Purchase Weapon/Ammo.
Then, select Purchase Combustor Ammo and press X. If you've used more than one
shot, use the D-pad to change the amount of ammo you want to buy to 1. Peice of
cake!
=Everybody Dance Now=
-Make every type of enemy in the game dance-
Value: 40
This is probably the most frustrating Skill Point to get in the game. There are
several enemies which you only come across once in the game before you kill
them. They are:
-The Leviathan Basilisks of Cobalia the Nundac Asteroid Ring
-The Security Drones and Turrets from inside Talwyn's Fortress
-The Leviathan Dinosaurs of Sargasso
There are also NPCs you can only get at a few points in the game. These are
Talwyn, Cronk and Zephyr. You may think you can get 'em on Reepor near Talwyn's
ship, but they don't dance there. You need to make them dance as they are
fighting. Both can be done on Reepor and the return visit to Fastoon, but Cronk
and Zephyr can also be done in the starting mission of Rykan V, likewise Talwyn
can be done in the Zordoom Prison escape.
Other tricky enemies are the Tachyon Minions in the first stage of his boss
fight, and the Transmorpher Penguins, which come in 5 varieties:
-Scarf
-Pink Scarf
-Yellow Scarf
-Green Scarf
-Monocile and Hat
-Quark Hat
Also, remember to get NPCs such as the Civ-Bots, the Smuggler and his Parrot,
the Grummel Vendors (not counting the Weapons Vendor, no Grummel operating that
on on-site), the Gel-Eaters in the Gelatonium mines, and Ratchet and Clank
themselves (they dance all the time no matter how far away from the Groovitron
they are, so they probably shouldn't be listed). The Drophyd's also have
upgraded forms of the suits they use, which all needto be individually
Groovitroned. There's one class per sector of the Polaris Galaxy (don't forget
the Drophyd Fish themselves). This applies to the pirates, you meet elite
pirates in Kerchu City and in the Ublik Passage (this includes guys on
turrets). Rusty Pete, at the end of the fight with Captain Slag, is also a
must. Finally, getting the Golden Groovitron in Challenge Mode will ease the
pain of this one.
=Chorus Line=
-Make 11 enemies dance together-
Value: 10
The absolute easiest way to get this is by going to Sargasso, and getting a
large swarm of red crawlers to chase after you. Then throw a Groovitron Ball!
=Happy Feat=
-Get 9 Penguins dancing on screen-
Value: 10
This is also best acquired in the same area as above. However, you will first
have to Transmorph the enemies into penguins BEFORE you get them to dance.
Also, the on-screen part means that you have to have 11 penguins dancing, and
have all of them on your TV screen at the same time.
=Disco Inferno=
-Use the Groovitron followed by the Pyro Blaster-
Value: 10
Throw a Groovitron anywhere to make 1 or more enemy dance. Then get out the
Pyro Blaster (NOT THE COMBUSTOR) and kill a/the foe. That simple.
=Bolts in the Bank=
-Sell 20 Leviathan Souls to the Smuggler-
Value: 10
There are 20 Leviathan Souls in ToD, so you need to find all the Leviathans and
sell 'em. Since the Basilisk Leviathans are quite large and the Dinosaur
Leviathans are marked on the map, this shouldn't be too hard. On a side note,
you will want to wait until you get to Sargasso before you sell the Souls to
the Smuggler, as the amount of bolts he'll give to you in return increases, til
it maxes out on Sargasso.
=It's Like the South Pole in Here=
-Turn at least 15 enemies and citizens into penguins at one time-
Value: 10
As it says. It can be both enemies and citezens, and you can actually use more
than one Transmorpher bomb for this, so long as there are 15 enemies as
penguins at the same time. You don't need to Transmorph both enemies and
citezins into penguins, however.
=Say Hello to My Little Friend=
-Kill 15 Enemies with one RYNO shot-
Value: 10
Ok, so after you have to Smuggler assemble your R.Y.N.O. IV, this Skill Poin
is actually quite easy. Find a group of 15 enemies (such as the red crawlers on
Sargasso), prime the weapon (hold R1), and let her do all the work. To put it
short, you have to kill 15 enemies with the RYNO without letting go of R1.
=For the Hoard!=
-Get Every Device-
Value: 10
This Skill Point is acquired once you get every Combat Device in the game (the
last of which you'll get around Igliak).
=Promoted to Inspector=
-Get every gadget-
Value: 10
Easy enough. This will be given to you once you get the Holo-Pirate Disguise
on the second visit to Planet Mukow, however don't forget the Charge Boots
found at the end of Emperor Tachyon's Trail of Turning Terror, also found on
Planet Mukow.
=Global Thermonuclear War=
-Get every weapon-
Value: 20
Simple enough. Usually you'll get this after having the Smuggler construct the
R.Y.N.O. IV for ya.
=Even Better the Second Time=
-Complete Challenge Mode-
Value: 40
Just as it says. You will get this after you defeat Emporer Tachyon in
Challenge Mode. If you don't get the point, simply choose Time Warp to Before
You Killed Emperor Tachyon and kill him again.
=The Hardest of the Core=
-Get every other Skill Point and everything else in the game. Now go outside
and play!-
Value: 20
As it says, get every Skill Point. This means getting all the weapons,
upgrading them to VX, getting every Gold Bolt, EVERYTHING. 100% complete.
Oh, and when I say get every Skill Point, obviously it doesn't include this
one.
===============
=Cheats #CHT=
===============
Cheats are unlocked by getting a specific amount of Skill Points in the game.
As Skill Points are now value-based, you can pick which Points you want to get
over their difficulty, for the sacrifice of less points. Cutcene-based
unlockables are available in the Cinematics menu, and Concept Art is under
the Concept Art menu. The Cheats, or more appropriately, unlockables, are as
follows:
=2007 E3 Trailer=
-Skill Points required: 50
This is the movie-style Trailer from the 2007 E3. Grab your popcorn!
=Big Head Mode=
Skill Points required: 75
Laugh in the face of gravity by swinging around this ridiculously large
noggin'.
There are four options for this: off, which is normal head size, Big,
which is quite big, huge, which is, well, HUGE, and Tiny!
=Character Concept Art=
-Skill Points required: 100
This unlocks a Concept Art Pack all about the Characters and Enemies in the
game.
=Big Head Enemies=
-Skill Points required: 125
Give your Wrench a bigger target!
This option has the Off, Big and Tiny modes, but no Huge option.
NOTE: The increased head size actually WILL NOT make for an easier target. It
also does not affect NPCs or Fodder, such as the Consumer Bots.
=2006 GDC Trailer=
-Skill Points required: 150
Remember that leaked cinematic of an early version of Metropolis? Well now
you'll get to see it, in full, non-handicam, 1080i goodness!
=Tools of Production=
-Skill Points required: 200
Unlocks snippets from a few of the unsung heroes of Ratchet and Clank Future:
Tools of Destruction.
Tools of Production are little Infobots scattered
throughout the levels in the game, and give you some insight into the
development of the game. They are the replacement to the Insomniac Museum.
=Environment Concept Art=
-Skill Points required: 250
This unlocks a Concept Art Pack about the Environments of the game.
=Wrench Replacement=
-Skill Points required: 300
Tired of using the same old omniwrench? Try your hand at a few pirate weapons!
These include a cutlass, and axe, a club, and a sword! And you can always
change it back to the wrench if you want to.
(Note: Combine this with the Rusty Pete Skin for best effects!)
=How to Draw by Dave Guertin=
-Skill Points required: 350
Principal Artist Dave Guertin teached how to draw Ratchet!
This is a really cool fast-forward video of Dave drawing Ratchet in Photoshop.
=James the Galactic Defender=
-Skill Points required: 400
Replaces Mr.Zurkon with a kinder, gentler galactic hero names James.
James originated from when Insomniac Games featured on an episode of Extreme
Makeover: Home Edition. Their gift to James was to include him in the game!
Note that he was able to play his alter-ego rather than just have it limited to
Mr. Zurkon.
=Weapon Concept Art=
-Skill Points required: 450
See the art that went into your favourite Tools of Destruction!
=Levels are Mirrored=
-Skill Points required: 500
See the world through the looking glass.
This adds an extra punch to Challenge Mode if you use it then.
=Script to Screen=
-Skill Points required: 650
This unlocks three new videos, and are production versions of the opening
cinematic, When Aren't the Heavily Armed?. The first is a storyboard, the
second is a pre-vis using crude models, and the third is animated using the
proper models, in terms of polygons.
=Ratchet Paintings=
-Skill Points required: 750 (yup, ALL 750 of them)
See the art of your favourite Lombax!
==============
=Skins #SKN=
==============
Skins have been around since Going Commando, however it was not until Up Your
Arsenal that you earned them with the Special Bolts. They change the model of
your character, however these changes do not affect cutscenes.
=Ratchet=
Cost: Free!
Your favourite Lombax hero. This skin will always be Ratchet in your highest
bought armour.
=Dan Johnson=
Cost: 6 Gold Bolts
Play as DJ Bunky, the greatest UFO tracker, ghost hunter, cat trapeze trainer,
and character builder in the known universe! Dan has been in every Insomniac
game since Spyro 2. Since his recent death in 2007, his inclusions in the game
are now even more special.
=Snowman=
Cost: 3 Gold Bolts
Play as the friendly neighbourhood snowman - just make sure enemies don't write
their name in you.
The snowman has been another skin staple since GC, and he's back in HD glory!
=Cragmite Skin=
Cost: 6 Gold Bolts
Talk about a face only a mother could love! Play as a Cragmite, the mortal
enemy of the Lombaxes.
=Rusty Pete=
Cost: 6 Gold Bolts
Play as Rusty Pete, the grog-swilling, chantey-singing first mate of Captain
Slag!
(Note: Combine this with the Wrench Replacement Cheat for best effects!)
=Cronk=
Cost: 4 Gold Bolts
He's old. He's senile. He's in need of yet another valve replacement. But
still, this retired old war bot has a ton of fight left in him!
=Zephyr=
Cost: 4 Gold Bolts
He may be prone to routine system failure, but this feisty war bot still guns
with the best of 'em. Too bad his warranty expired ages ago...
=Mustachio Furioso=
Cost: 3 Gold Bolts
Play as Mustachio Furioso! Pride of the Flurbian Galaxyverse! This skin only
applies the glasses and mustache to Ratchet's current armout, contraty to the
skin preview.

=Tools of Production Locations #TOL=
======================================
As the Tools of Productions Infobots are never located to you unless you find
them by accident, I've decided to give their locations here. Nearly all of them
are located in places which don't require any searching at all, but if you're
wanting to know where they are just 'cause, or to find out what they are all
about, this is the place!
For best listening of the Infobot, it is advised that you turn down volume of
the Sound Effects and Music via the Options Menu, and have Ratchet facing the
Infobot while being really close to it. All this will provide the maximum sound
on both speakers. If you turn the camera away from directly behind Ratchet, the
sound will only be on one speaker due to the Surround Sound effect (this
happens even if you're on Stereo Sound).

=Frequently Asked Questions=
============================
Being on the Tools of Destruction Forums, I know the majority of these
questions off by heart. Read these before sending me any emails to see if they
may answer your question.
Q: Is there [insert feature here]?
A: Here's the basic checklist for the most frequently asked of the, well,
frequently asked quesions:
| GS Demo | PSN Demo | Full Game
-------------------------------------------------
480p/i | Yes | Yes | Yes
-------------------------------------------------
720p/i | Yes | Yes | Yes
-------------------------------------------------
1080i | No | Yes | Yes
-------------------------------------------------
1080p | No | No | Yes
-------------------------------------------------
Strafing | Yes | Yes | Yes
-------------------------------------------------
Lock-Strafe | No | No | Yes
-------------------------------------------------
360 or Wii Port | Never | Never | Never
-------------------------------------------------
Multiplayer | NO | NO | NO
-------------------------------------------------
Museum | NO | NO | NO
-------------------------------------------------
Yes, there is no Multiplayer in Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.
This has been asked a mind-blowing amount of times and it just can't be said
enough. This has been confirmed since around March or so, so I can't understand
why some people, avidly excited about the game, do not know about this already.
NO MULTIPLAYER. Okay? Good.
Moving on, the Weapons Upgrade to V5, there is Challenge Mode, and it isn't any
harder this time and The Plumber is back.
Q: Okay, so how do I get the Disc-based Demo?A: Pop over to your local Gamestop and pre-order Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. You should get the disk in the mail. This would work except for the fact that ToD is out already. Q: But... Gamestop is an American Store... A: Yup. PAL doen't get any slack cut, does it? Q: Is the Insomniac Museum in this game? A: Nope. Instead we are given the Tools of Production Cheat (for 200 Skill Points). This places Infobots around the level which you can activate to hear the creators talk about various aspects of making the game, from animating to lighting to the story behind James the Galactic Defender. I also answered this in a previous question. Q:But wh-A: Lemme answer that, I already know what it is. It isn't in the game because Mike Stout had the museum as his pet project. He no longer works for Insomniac, thus he cannot do the museum. That's the facts. Don't argue with 'em. Q: My copy of ToD doesn't run in 1080i/p! Help! A: Alright, first off, I'm assuming that your TV is compatible with 1080. To fix this, head over to Display Settings in your PS3's XMB (under settings). Recalibrate your TV Manually, and uncheck all resolutions apart from the 1080 ones (don't worry about 480p). This should solve the problem. Q: I ran into a glitch on Mukow. I get into my ship after the Fight Festival, then my screen turns black and I get random digits! A: To solve this, head into your PS3's XMB and go to Game. Select the top-most option, and find the ToD file. Delete is. THIS IS NOT YOUR GAME SAVE (they have a picture of the current planet's landscape). This is the Game Data, installed to aid in load times. When you next boot up ToD, the game will install a fresh one, and the glitch shall be gone! Q: I got a Holo-Plan, but it doesn't register in the game that I collected it! A: This is an uncommon but still annoying bug. To 'fix' it, you need to try and collect the Holo-Plan in another playthrough of the game (that is, another Challenge Mode run-through on that save). Q: I ran into some other glitch! A: See about question. If that don't work, then there's not really a known solution. Q: How do I do that Razor Claw glitch I've been hearing about? A: First, you'll need the following: A pair of Razor Claws with sufficient ammo, and a wall. This is best done with VX Claws as they have the most ammo. Head against the wall and Stretch Jump up. Then, mash O or R1 until Ratchet locks into the wall for a bit, then quickly perform a Stretch Jump. This will take a bit of practise, like the Infinite Light Flight glitch in Jak 3. Q: How long is the game? A: The game is a good length, however it makes you wish there were one or two more planets in it. It's about as long as UYA. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [The next two questions are from Gastroid's Commonly Asked Questions Thread on the ToD Board on GameFAQs. Therefore, the following messages are his, not mine] Q: Just WHY won't Tools of Destruction go to the 360 or the Wii? A: Insomniac has an excellent partnership with Sony. This includes over a decade of service to them only catering to Sony systems. A change would result in the loss of R&C for Insomniac and the lack of a partnership with a game company. Insomniac has basically mastered Sony game consoles during their time with them, and moving to another console would limit the gameplay, as Insomniac has no knowledge of other systems. Also, the PS3 is the only game console that can handle the graphics of Tools of Destruction. The processor power required to get 60 frames per second, along with advanced Pixar-style graphics is amazingly high. This game is pushing a higher limit to what the PS3 is thought to be capable of. Ratchet and Clank will never be on a non-Sony console. Q: Is this a kiddy game? A: Would a kiddy game have innuendo and maniacal dictators hoping to kill all life just to earn a buck (Drek)? Don’t let the graphics fool you; this game isn’t for little kids. =============== =Credits #CRD= =============== A big thanks must go out to the guys at Insomniac Games, who are able to consistently release quality titles every year. Also my mate Corey, Admin and creator of starcraft2bunker.com, helped me with the FAQs section. I also MUST thank David Bergeaud, who's music is absolutely brilliant and continues to dazzle, inspire and amaze me track by track. Thanks guys!
