Buying The available inventory that the player can choose from and purchase depends solely on the acquired shop levels. The inventory only consists of the most basic of items when the player visits a shop for the first time, as the default shop levels are set to LV 1. As more shop levels are acquired, the inventory set will expand and new items will become available, and also newer items will be displayed showing the required level for unlocking. Also, as shop levels increase, inventory will gradually decrease in price, in the form of a specific percentage off. B. Selling Selling your existing inventory will net amounts of Gald equal to about half of the current shop price, but there are exceptions. For example, selling a stat boosting item nets an amount of Gald that is significantly lower than half. Lastly, all materials dropped by enemies have fixed Gald values when sold. C. Shop Level The player can view the shop levels gained, the experience required for the next shop level, and the randomly generated material bonus, which can be either times 2 or 3. When a shop level is selected, the player has a list of three options, trade materials for experience, trade Gald for experience, or cancel the menu. The shop levels are listed in this order: Consumable Items Weapons Armor Accessories Food Items D. Equipment Menu An alternate way to access the equipment menu. E. Leave Shop Closes out the shop menu. _ |-----------------------------------------------\ / | | | | / \ | 02. Earning Shop Level Experience: / | | | | |-| |-----------------------------------------------/ \ | |_ |_ | | | As mentioned above, two of those options are trading materials for experience, and trading Gald for experience. A third method is gaining experience by purchasing inventory directly from shops too. A. Trading Materials This is probably the best way to earn experience for the shop levels. When materials dropped by enemies are traded for experience, the value of the material is normally one for one, or if a bonus value exists for a specific category of material, then the experience gain can be times 2 or 3. Some materials are worth hanging on to until bonus kicks in, resulting in rather massive experience gain. For example, in the optional wetlands area, there is a water elemental type enemy that drops a material worth 1,500 experience. Having a full inventory of the this specific material will net the following experience values: 1,500 * 99 = 148,500 EXP 1,500 * 99 * bonus of times 2 = 297,000 EXP 1,500 * 99 * bonus of times 3 = 445,500 EXP B. Trading Gald This method is okay for lower shop levels, but becomes impratical as shop levels increase. The amount of Gald required is 10 Gald for every 1 point of experience. So basically, this breaks down to a factor of 10% or Gald times 0.1. Here are a few examples: To LV 25: 105,770 Gald * 0.1 = 10,577 EXP To LV 58: 1,002,930 Gald * 0.1 = 100,293 EXP To LV 84: 5,041,320 Gald * 0.1 = 504,132 EXP To LV 96: 10,534,680 Gald * 0.1 = 1,053,468 EXP To LV 100: 13,462,430 Gald * 0.1 = 1,346,243 EXP Even with either the White Sephira(Accessory Shop LV 47) equipped times 4, which generates times 3 Gald, or even the more useful Blue Sephira(Accessory Shop LV 77) equipped times 4, which would then generate times 5 Gald, it just would take too much time to get to max level. C. Purchasing Shop Inventory When inventory is purchased, experience is gained at a rate of 5% of the current purchase price of the item, or the item times 0.05. The experience only goes to the shop level that it is associated with. Here is an example of a Life Bottle: 500 Gald * 0.05 = 25 EXP 500 Gald * 10 purchased * 0.05 = 250 EXP 500 Gald * 0.5 discount * 10 purchased * 0.05 = 125 EXP Experience points through shop purchases will occur throughout the course of the game, but this is the least practical method for dedicated shop leveling. _ |-----------------------------------------------\ / | | | | / \ | 04.
