This is still a work in progress. Updates will be made frequently. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01.00 - New Stuff -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This section will mention the differences between this game and previous Disgaea games that may have been taken for granted in the past, or would not be expected by a veteran picking the game up. ~~~~~Major Changes~~~~~ Non-thieves can obtain steal rates of 99%. Normal items can be upgraded to rare and legendary. There are many rooms to Laharl's castle. At first, it looks like a rehashed version of Disgaea 1's four room castle, but there is a hallway near the Rosenqueen shops that will take you to other parts of the castle. Innocents no longer appear on items bought from Rosen Queen store. You will no longer be able to leave/enter until 3 tutors appear on an item. Store items are no longer random, and can be bought in bulk. No more leave/entering to buy a ton of steal hands. Climbing tiers no longer requires reincarnation. You can go from Tier 1 fighter to Tier 2 fighter via the "Promotion" option in the Dark Assembly. Master/Pupil relationships can be changed at will. This makes it more convenient to learn skills and spells without the previous reincarnation frenzies, or making characters that existed only to transfer spells, and were then forgotten or deleted. Diagonal throwing is no longer a tricky bug, but rather, all characters have a throw radius similar to a movement radius. Levelling in item world has been changed significantly. Specifically, double-beating bosses is out, and putting six gladiators on an item while levelling it has no effect anymore. There is a new feature called the Cheat Shop, located in the garden, where you can decrease gain of something to increase gain of another thing, (HL, Exp) It is also how you change enemy power levels (previously done via Assembly). The warehouse has been removed. Instead, you carry tons of items on your person all the time. This will take a little getting used to. Pleinair talks. Yes, this is a major change. ~~~~~Minor Changes~~~~~ All items of the same rank are the same cost. Fake Spear, Common Dagger, and Old Bows in store are all 80 HL. Etna and Flonne follow Laharl around in the castle between battles. Pressing R2 or L2 in the castle will make Laharl do a flip. Main characters can undergo a palette swap color change. Characters will occasionally talk to one another in battle. There is now a "Buyback" feature, to reclaim items accidentally sold. However, you will pay normal price for items re-bought this way. The "Evade" geo effect now provides a bonus to a character's evasion, rather than the previous "50% evasion no matter what" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02.00 - Walkthrough -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These stages will be formatted as follows. *** ~~[STAGE NAME] TO CLEAR: Information that is required to clear the stage goes here. GEO PUZZLE: -Instructions on how to clear the stage of all geo panels goes here. Tips and tricks on how to make the stage goes here. *** -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02.01 - Tutorial -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~Battle Basics 1 TO CLEAR: No special requirements If you've played a Disgaea game before, there's nothing new here. Move, Team attacks, Combo attacks, and Execute/End Turn are described here. If you *haven't* played a Disgaea game before, the controls and mechanics are well described in this in-game tutorial. ~~Battle Basics 2 TO CLEAR: it is not explained unless you move next to one of the wooden boxes, but in order to clear this stage, you will have to lift and throw the boxes to get high enough to attack the mothmen. Lift/Throw is explained in this one, and the new MOUNT ability is introduced, but not explained in any great detail. In order to mount, you need to have a monster stand next to a non-monster, and use the "mount" command from the MONSTER'S command list. ~~Geo Effects TO CLEAR: No special requirements GEO PUZZLE: -Throw RED and GREEN geo symbols onto BLUE geo panel -Attack GREEN geo symbol The same convoluted puzzle game we've gotten to know and love since Disgaea 1. **** The Dark Assembly opens at this point, and you are forced to make a character. **** -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02.02 - Chapter 1 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~Nameless Wilderness TO CLEAR: No special requirements Etna mentions Evilities, which are character specific abilities. Created characters get a choice of three evilities upon creation. Some are incredibly useful, such as the lady fighter's ability to move after killing a unit. ~~Tainted Soil TO CLEAR: No special requirements GEO PUZZLE: -Throw ALL geo symbols onto RED geo panel -Attack BLUE geo symbol Flonne covers the new mechanic "Likeability", which affects mounted skills, combo attack success ratio, the chance of followup (support) attacks, and the chance one character can take a hit for another, among other things. ~~Silent Death Land TO CLEAR: No special requirements ~~Withered Local Pride TO CLEAR: No special requirements GEO PUZZLE: -Destroy RED geo symbol -Destroy NULL geo symbol -Alternatively, you can throw the RED geo symbol on the BLUE geo panels, then attack the RED geo symbol to clear the whole field at once for a big combo. ~~Filthy Ruins TO CLEAR: No special requirements -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02.03 - Chapter 2 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~Unmoving Land TO CLEAR: No special requirements ~~Cold Breath TO CLEAR: No special requirements GEO PUZZLE: -Destroy NULL geo symbol Monsters in this stage are all active, and will come chasing you down. Keep them on the red -50% ATK squares while you beeline to the clear corner, retaining your full stats. ~~Ice Demon Grave TO CLEAR: No special requirements Throw a prinny near another prinny on the first turn, and all the prinnies will explode, leaving only the mages. The mages are all fire type, and the prinnies are all throwable. A mage with 75% fire resist could take this stage on her own. ~~Freezing Winds TO CLEAR: No special requirements GEO PUZZLE: Impossible to clear This stage is just going to be difficult your first time through. You can either have your bow/gun user shoot the geo symbols from the main land, or spread up your forces by throwing your party onto the islands, leaving people behind when it comes time to fight the boss. Note! If you destroy the green geo symbol, the "No Color Change" effect will be removed, as well as all the detrimental geo effects. However, everybody standing on the colored panels (all your party) will take damage from the resulting chain. ~~Winter Ridicule TO CLEAR: No special requirements GEO PUZZLE: -Destroy the RED, GREEN, BLUE, and YELLOW geo symbols in the same turn. -Alternatively, destroy the RED, GREEN, *OR* BLUE geo symbol. On turn 1, all the alraunes will crowd onto the yellow cross shaped pattern and stay there, casting buff spells on each other, while the thieves come after you. Beeline to the thieves and clear them out. Prepare for the next part. If you went with the first method of clearing the puzzle, you will do more damage to the alraunes, and some may die. However, it takes four units' turn to do it that way, so be aware of that when choosing how to complete the stage. After you kill the thieves, move your party into position to fight the alraunes. The geo chain will leave them at about 20% HP, but only for one turn. The alraunes will not move to attack you. As long as you stay out of their range, you will be fine. Once your party is close enough to launch an attack, clear the geo symbols and take out the geo symbol and finish the battle in the same turn. ~~Silver Witch TO CLEAR: No special requirements NOTE: AFTER THIS STAGE, YOU WILL BE FORCED TO VISIT ITEM WORLD. BE PREPARED! The boss will mount the dragon on turn 1, giving you a typical "My stats are bigger than yours" boss fight. Dragons have -75% ice affinity, so take advantage of that. The boss, however, is disturbingly resistant to elemental attacks, so don't sacrifice all your physical attackers to bait the dragons out. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02.04 - Chapter 3 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Item World opens at this point, and you are forced to take a visit there. If you have a female mage, set her nature to "child-like", for the regenerating SP evility, and teach her heal. She will allow you to survive indefinitely, provided you don't leave her out to get killed. ~~Castle Wall Defense TO CLEAR: No special requirements ~~Heartless Main Gate TO CLEAR: No special requirements GEO PUZZLE: -Move the NULL geo symbol onto the GREEN geo panels -Destroy the BLUE geo symbol ~~Evil Plans Foyer TO CLEAR: No special requirements ~~Conspiracy Landing TO CLEAR: No special requirements GEO PUZZLE: -Destroy the NULL geo symbol ~~Corridor of Hell TO CLEAR: DO NOT attack the TEAL geo symbol on the PURPLE "No Entry" panels, or you will lock yourself away from the enemies, making it impossible to clear the stage. Instead, LIFT the TEAL geo symbol, and throw it elsewhere GEO PUZZLE: -When only PURPLE and TEAL geo panels remain, lift and throw until both PURPLE and TEAL geo symbols are on PURPLE geo panels, while the NULL geo symbol is on the TEAL geo panels. Then, destroy the TEAL geo symbol. ~~Inner Sanctum TO CLEAR: No special requirements -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02.05 - Chapter 4 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~Ticket Booth TO CLEAR: No special requirements GEO PUZZLE: Impossible to clear With a little work, you can stand yourself on the red squares, taking advantage of the DEF+50% effect, forcing them to attack you from off those panels. ~~Merchandise Area TO CLEAR: No special requirements ~~Restricted Area TO CLEAR: No special requirements GEO PUZZLE: -Destroy the NULL geo symbol ~~Green Room TO CLEAR: No special requirements GEO PUZZLE: -Move the PURPLE geo symbol onto the YELLOW geo panel in the LEFTMOST CORNER -Move the GREEN geo symbol to the 2x3 rectangle of YELLOW geo panels on the stone stairs leading up to the boss. Place it on the YELLOW geo panel closest to te RED geo symbol -Destroy the GREEN geo symbol ~~Concert Stage TO CLEAR: No special requirements GEO PUZZLE: -Lift the YELLOW geo symbol and throw it onto the GREEN geo symbol. The boss will not move from her fortress. Stay out of her range as you fight. After the entourage has been taken care of, you can beat her down where she stands, or casually walk around to the back and solve the geo puzzle. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02.06 - Chapter 5 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~Sinful Road TO CLEAR: A mage with a long range heal will make this stage easier Take some of your less useful characters and tower throw to the top, destroying the geo symbols, provided your remaining characters are strong enough to clear the rest of the stage on even ground. ~~Ghostly Daydream TO CLEAR: No special requirement GEO PUZZLE: -Put NULL geo symbol on GREEN geo panel -Put GREEN geo symbol on RED geo panel -Destroy GREEN geo symbol If you're not strong enough to just plow right through these guys, the gimmick is to ride the warp tile to the back of the map while holding the geo symbol, then pull some shenanigans to set the archers to def-50%, or destroy them in a geo-explosion. ~~Scale of Good&Evil TO CLEAR: You must have some units capable of throwing. Either throw your units onto the islands, or lift the blue geo symbol while standing on the blue panel to warp from area to area. ~~The Floating Lands TO CLEAR: You must have some units capable of throwing. Throw your fighting party up-left to clear the rune knights. Ride the teleport panels quickly to prevent the multiplying boars and reapers from getting out of control. ~~Boundary of Darkness TO CLEAR: No special requirement GEO PUZZLE: -Destroy the NULL geo symbol You are in a hurry on this map. Enemy 40% levelup adds up fast. You may want to consider making a tower of four or five units to break the offending panels and fight an otherwise easy match with a smaller party. NOTE: The reapers on this map have the "Near Death Reaper" evility, which gives them a 50% chance of deathblow (instant kill) when their HP is below 25%. ~~Celestial Gate TO CLEAR: No special requirements GEO PUZZLE: -Throw the NULL geo symbol onto a RED geo panel. -Throw a RED and TEAL geo symbol onto a GREEN geo panel. -Destroy the RED geo symbol -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02.07 - Chapter 6 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~Frightening Forest TO CLEAR: No special requirements GEO PUZZLE: -Destroy the BLUE geo symbol for the largest chain. This stage is one of your best levelup spots until now. The enemies are all aggressive, and start on exp +50% panels, so what you don't kill on turn one will casually stroll towards you on turn two. Using your strongest character to start, then lifting him to the top of a tower, attacking every time you lift is a great way to level up a whole group of units at once. Not only does this allow you to power up several characters at once, but it also teaches many members of your team the valuable TOWER TECHNIQUES, which will come in handy in the later chapters. Due to a bug in the coding, level 99 monsters give several times more experience than they should. You can set the monster strength to 9 stars, and the enemies will be level 99. ~~Momentary Bravado TO CLEAR: No special requirements ~~Despairing Silence TO CLEAR: No special requirements GEO PUZZLE: -Place RED, YELLOW, and BLUE geo symbols on BLUE geo panel -Place NULL geo symbol on a YELLOW geo panel -Destroy the YELLOW geo symbol Gimmicky stage is gimmicky. Place geo symbols to hamper enemy movement as you see fit, or tank up on some ally boost squares and let them enemy impale itself on your weapons. Of course, you can ignore the gimmick altogether and go all-in on the enemy right from turn one. ~~Animal Trail to Hell TO CLEAR: No special requirements GEO PUZZLE: -Throw the RED geo symbol onto a RED geo panel -Destroy the GREEN geo symbol ~~Death Scream Chorus TO CLEAR: No special requirements -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02.08 - Chapter 7 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~The Fool's Ruins TO CLEAR: No special requirements ~~Evolving Scratches TO CLEAR: No special requirements You can run out and grab the geo symbols to throw onto your yellow panel fort if you like. However, this stage is no more difficult without it than the previous stage. ~~Overflowing Mirror TO CLEAR: No special requirements A gimmick stage divided into four areas. You can either deal with the HP/SP switch, revese damage, no melee and no ranged in any order you choose, you can destroy the yellow geo symbols and fire away from the yellow squares, lifting and throwing to make the fight easy for you, or you can stand on the base panel firing long range nukes at the enemy, if you have a sufficiently powerful mage to handle the attacks. ~~Fallen Angel Requiem TO CLEAR: You must have at least FIVE units capable of lifting and throwing. -OR- You must have at least THREE units that are capable of lifting and throwing -AND- a unit with very long range. Your units will be spread pretty thin for the first time this game. If you have not done any powerlevelling (either items or characters), you may find this stage to be the most difficult thus far. Because the enemy units are all ranged attackers, you will find little safety to heal up before throwing your units to the next island, leaving at least one party member behind each time. Ranged units, such as archer, gunner, or witch, will make this stage much easier, as you can heal between skirmishes and fight on your own terms. ~~Precipitating Hatred TO CLEAR: No special requirements Bringing the purple "Recovery 20%" geo symbol with you from area to area will make this long fight more easily sustainable. ~~Phantom's End TO CLEAR: No special requirements GEO PUZZLE: -Lift and throw the BLUE geo symbol onto the main island. -Destroy the BLUE geo symbol once super encroach effect has connected all the RED geo panels. Solve the geo puzzle, or charge in if you can handle the enemy boost +50% -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02.09 - Chapter 8 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~Dark Impact TO CLEAR: No special requirements GEO PUZZLE: Destroy the NULL geo symbol The "evade" effect will soon cover the whole map, while the brawlers on this stage all have "Counter attacks will never miss" as their evility. Either clear the stage quickly or break the null geo symbol. ~~Dark Barren Road TO CLEAR: No special requirements. GEO PUZZLE: Destroy the YELLOW geo symbol. Alternatively, destroy the PURPLE geo symbol for a smaller combo. Using "Tower Throw" on this map will allow you to bypass the annoying part of this stage, flying right past the "Get smacked by a Baciel while you're stuck on 'No Ranged Attacks' tiles" part. This strategy will leave one unit alone on the other side of the map, surrounded by enemies, however. The Baciels will not move while you deal with the three enemies in the center, and then you can take out the Baciels one at a time. This only requires you have a unit strong enough to take out three units at once. A tower of 10 will offer a throw range of 18 squares. NOTE: The Baciels will not attack the legendary treasure chests, so you can take your time clearing them out if you want the loot. ~~Vile Black Crystal TO CLEAR: At least one unit capable of lifting and throwing The succubi are incapable of moving until you move the "No Entry" geo symbol. You are in a hurry to move the geo symbol at the upper right part of the stage, as the succubi level up every turn, and will be average leve in four turns, and getting stronger every turn after. Once the "Enemy Level Up 10%" effect has been removed, you can take your time with the rest of the stage. ~~Fallen Destroyer TO CLEAR: At least one unit capable of lifting and throwing 5 spaces GEO PUZZLE: Lift the GREEN geo symbol and throw it on to the RED geo symbol. Similar to the last stage, you can skip the whole thing by using Tower Throw to send one unit across the map to destroy the red geo symbol on turn one. This unit doesn't even need to be as strong as the one in the last stage, as you can pick up the prinny while on the other side and throw it to destroy the three surrounding Baciels. After that, it's a game of shooting enemies stranded on islands. ~~Shadow of Misfortune TO CLEAR: No special requirements ~~Utopian Abyss TO CLEAR: 5 turn time limit "No Lifting" and "Ally Lonely" covers most of this map. Powerful long range units are strongly recommended. The geo effects and time limit make it such that one superpowered unit will be unlikely to clear this stage alone, and the Ally Lonely effect prevent you from making use of multiple melee units. Having mages, archers, and gunners will make this stage much easier. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02.10 - Chapter 9 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~Ice Beast's Scream TO CLEAR: No special requirements After your second turn, the "No Entry" geo symbol will move, allowing the golems to come after you on the second enemy turn. Be prepared for a wallopping. ~~Empty Blooms TO CLEAR: No special requirements You can either ride the purple warp panels into 10 armed warriors, or wait for them to come to you. If you wait, they will be perfectly set up to recieve a Zielregen (Bow), Big Bang (Fist) or 7/9 area magic attack. ~~Squirming Fear TO CLEAR: No special requirements GEO PUZZLE: Destroy each geo symbol as you get to it. You're forced to fight at melee range on this map. After destroying the geo symbol at the center of the map, you'll be caught in an explosion detonating the whole field. After that, it's a simple brawl. NOTE: Every monster on this field is quipped with at least two items. If you innocents, this is the stage to farm them. ~~Wandering Death TO CLEAR: No special requirements GEO PUZZLE: Throw the RED and YELLOW symbols onto a RED geo panel Throw the NULL geo symbol onto a YELLOW geo panel Destroy the YELLOW geo symbol -OR- Throw the RED and YELLOW geo symbols onto a YELLOW geo panel Throw the NULL geo symbol onto a RED geo panel Destroy the RED geo symbol -OR- lift and hold the NULL geo panel until the whole field turns one color If the field is RED, destroy a YELLOW geo symbol If the field is YELLOW, destroy a RED geo symbol Nippon Ichi was having fun with their walking geo symbol shenanigans on this stage. Every turn, red and yellow take turns being the dominant color, and thus, also take turns having an underwhelming DEF +50% and elemental boost bonuses. All that said, you can likely ignore this stage's effect unless you're heavily reliant on magic. Else, you can Tower Throw a unit across the map and clear the field on turn one. ~~Drift of Evil Intent TO CLEAR: No special requirements If you do nothing on turn one, the gel monsters will attack the pumpkinds and die when they get counterattacked. This will inflict Deprave status on the pumpkins, which is reversed by their evility. If they're too strong with the status effect on, you can espoir it off, or pull out dummy characters to die to the superpowered pumpkins until the effect wears itself off. There is a very high level Prinny on this stage which can be thrown to detonate nearby enemies, as well. ~~Netherworld maw TO CLEAR: No special requirements -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02.11 - Chapter 10 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~Ever Shifting Lands TO CLEAR: No special requirements ~~Ruthless Cave TO CLEAR: No special requirements ~~Netherworld's Crust TO CLEAR: A character with at least 24 jump is required to clear this stage. A character with at least 48 jump is required to clear this stage if you ruin the +100% Jumping power geo effect -OR- a thief with "Create Box" ability GEO PUZZLE: Clear the geo symbols in the order you see them Place a PURPLE, YELLOW, and PURPLE geo symbol next to each other on a YELLOW geo panel Destroy a PURPLE geo symbol -OR- Destroy the NULL geo symbol for a smaller combo If you started this stage without a character that has sufficient mobility to make it, check your characters for boots that add jump and move have a character equip them mid-battle. If you don't have the required jump score, you can have a thief create a staircase with her "Create box" ability. In order to get the bonus to your jump score, you must start the turn on the yellow panels offering the boost. If you start from outside the panels, you won't be able to run over them and jump up the cliff, unless you have the jump to do so without the bonus they offer. ~~Zygote of Pain TO CLEAR: You must have a character capable of making a range 2 attack You can try to keep the NPCs alive if you like, via killing the ghosts and throwing the teal geo symbols at the exposed panels. Other than that, however, the stage is just like any other until you get to the end. After you clear out the first baddies, you need to attack a purple geo symbol and lure or throw the enemy off the Mighty Enemy panels. Fun fact: As long as the angel NPC remains alive, any angel you have has their stats boosted by 50%. ~~Netherworld's Guts TO CLEAR: You must have units able to traverse or survive 10 panels worth of "No Lifting" and "Ally Damage 50%" tiles, and still be strong enough to fight a boss with a counterattack aura that hits for 20% of the attacker's max HP each time he is hit. The fight is very simple, but harder than anything else you've faced in the main story. If you're gratuitously overlevelled, you can steamroll this stage with a single character. Otherwise, you're in for a haul. Bring your healers and some ranged units that can pop off stat debilitating shamans. There's no rush to clear this stage. take your time, snipe the shamans on the islands, heal up, and dash across the purple stripe of death. Alternatively, if you'd rather not deal with the purple stripe of death, you can tower throw a unit over to destroy one of the symbols, or lift the ally damage 50% effect off the purple geo panels. ~~Netherworld's Guts Mk. II TO CLEAR: No special requirements The boss's evility causes him to absorb stats of all units that are close, absorbing more as you approach him. There are a few ways to go about this. 1) Unload with all your characters, except one, then lift him at the end of your turn. Repeat this process until you're not allowed to field any more units. As you surround him with your units to unload an epic combo, you will find it harder and harder to damage him. However, if you only have a few super powered characters, this may be your best bet. 2) Beat him down with your strongest units, never fielding more than one unit at a time. If you have several units roughly equal in power, it may be best to send them out one at a time to duel the boss, as he will absorb fewer stats while only one person is on the field. 3) Beat him down with your strongest unit, then have a weaker unit throw your character back into the base panel, while the thrower dies. This only works if you have one super strong character, while the rest wouldn't be able to pull their weight in this fight. Any of these strategies will require you to use ranged attacks to kill off the flambergs with long range attacks beforehand, as the boss absorbs stats from those guys, too. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 03.00 - Item World -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The identifying feature of this whole series is Item World. In here, you power up items which works in synergy with your team's base stats and aptitudes to get stats seen as insane by most other games' standards. Disgaea D2 has drastically changed the way levelling items works, and this section will be updated as more information becomes available. Different from previous games, double-beating bosses NO LONGER HAS ANY EFFECT. -This is the practice of clearing 9 floors, killing the boss, gencying out, returning to the item, killing the boss again, then clearing the floor for to gain the bonus from the boss twice. Also different from previous games, levelling up an item with a stat boosting innocent on it NO LONGER HAS ANY EFFECT. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 03.10 - Special Rooms -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- While travelling through an item, you will encounter "Mystery Islands". In Disgaea 2, you would travel through an alternative portal to visit a special room with random effects. In this game, you are casually thrown into these rooms simply by skipping or clearing stages. Each mystery island does not add to the floor count when clearing stages. Example: Clear floor 41 Find a treasure room mystery island Next floor will be floor 42 Thus far, it seems as if "Item" or "Innocent" route (via cheat shop) has no effect on the frequency or types of mystery islands that appear. This list will show the frequency with which these mystery islands appear. Although I did many floors to mitigate the randomness, these numbers are still PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, and the actual chances of getting a particular mystery room may vary. CHANCE OF SEEING THIS ROOM ROOM COUNT IN ONE RUN OF TEN FLOORS Set of ten floors completed 113 Ally Advice 13 11.8% Bribery Store 11 10% Bonus Stage 26 22.5% Cheat Shop 6 4.5% Hospital 11 10% Innocent Plaza 1 1% Innocent Shop 10 9% Item General/King 2 1.8% Item Mall 1 1% Item Shop 6 4.5% Mana/Exp Potion Shop 4 3.6% Nicknamer 8 7.2% Rock-Paper-Scissors Master 4 3.6% Salve Merchant 2 1% Skill Merchant 4 3.6% Stray Kitty 1 1% Transfer Room 1 1% Treasure Guardian 10 9% Treasure Room 2 1.8% Ally Advice: -A random member of your roster will be standing on a mystery island alone. Talking to them promps a response to improve likeability. The required response is random, and there is no penalty for picking the wrong answer. Bribery Store: -A boar sells items for use in the dark senate, and some other crates block the view of a legendary treasure chest. Double jump is NOT required for this. Bonus Stage: -You have 1-3 turns to collect as many innocents and treasure chests as you can. If you don't clear the stage in the allotted time, the stage ends, and you go to the next floor. Unlike Disgaea 4, where you had to chain-throw innocents and chests back to your ship, you are only required to be lifting the innocent or treasure chest you want at the end of the stage. Bring out all the masked heroes you can make if you're unable to destroy the innocents or treasure chests you desire. Cheat Shop: -The cheat shop can follow you into the item world, offering a host of benefits to choose from. If you're already set to "cramped", asking for smaller islands will have no effect. However, bribing the guardian on a cramped item world will allow you to clear floors even faster. Hospital: -A rest stop where you can heal your units. Innocent Plaza: -All the subdued innocents in the item appear on an island. Talking to them will double their current effective level. Innocent Shop: -The Item Worlder appears to sell you a single innocent you can jam onto your item. NOTE!: The innocent you buy is UNSUBDUED. Buy a guardian or other rare innocent, leave the item, and fuse with your large subdued innocent to gain many levels on your hard to find innocent with this shop. Item General/King: -The Item King is just chillin' out, waiting for a bus. You don't have to fight him or anything. Simply "I will strengthen your item for you". Item Mall: -Contains an item shop, potion shop, and black market shop on one island. Item Shop: -Just like the one you find every tenth floor, the merchant will sell you a random assortment of items if varying rarity. Mana/Exp Poion Shop: -A merchant appears and will sell you exp potions and mana potions. Nicknamer: -A lone Sea Angel will change a random unit's class title Rock-Paper-Scissors Master: -Play a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors with an NPC. Win, and increase your item's level by 5. Lose, and you get nothing. Tie, and you get nothing. Exciting. Salve Merchant: -Double jump is required for this. A cat saber is at the top of a huge tower and will sell you salves, serums, and other permanent stat boost items. Skill Merchant: -A prinny sells you the highest level skills available for weapons at the cost of 2,000,000 HL or 4,000,000 HL, depending on which level you're going for. If you have the HL, you can buy as many skills for as many characters as you like in a single visit. Stray Kitty: -A catsaber hangs out in this room, and requests an item. You can give it an item, and it will like you more. It might give you an item in return. After you give it an item, it will fall asleep, and you won't be able to fight it via repeatedly talking to it. Transfer Room: -A succubus will offer to teleport you 5 or 10 floors deeper into an item. Before Rasetsu mode, this isn't so great, as you won't gain levels for the skipped floors. However, in Rasetsu mode, you will be rushing to item gods as fast as you can, making this one of your favorite rooms. Treasure Guardian: -A dragon stands in front of a legendary chest. You have the option to fight him for it. Make sure you destroy the treasure chest before killing him, or the fight will end and you get nothing for it. Treasure Room: -A room filled with treasure chests. Sadly, this room is so rare that by the time you encounter your first one, it's likely that you won't bother opening them. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 03.20 - Pirates and Ships -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- While travelling through Item World, pirates can pester you. Pirates tend to be much higher level than the other monsters in the area, but beating them will get you their ship, if you don't have it already. This is a list of pirates, when they can appear, and which ship you get for defeating them. NOTE: This list is compiled based on personal experience. While it may be possible to encounter pirates sooner than shown on this list, it will not be required to go later than the floor minimums. In addition to the 1100 recorded floors in the previous section, I have also save/loaded on floor 99 many times in order to get desired results from Item Gods. Despite all this, I have seen Prinny Pirates only once. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 04.00 - Useful Information -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yay for creative names! Talking to these will give you the option to spend your hard earned HL for prizes. The prizes vary based on which option you choose to spin. All machines have been "Spin 11 times"d until inventory was full, then the game was re-loaded for more attempts. The numbers show the quickest a save icon has appeared, and the longest it took for a save icon to appear. These save icons appear in a random order. Various features are accessed through this shop, including the previously tedious task of increasing or lowering enemy levels for faster levelups. Page 1- This page allows you to set the rate at which Exp/Mana/HL/Weapon Mastery/Skill Mastery is gained. It starts with limits of 90%/105%, but these limits change as chapters go on. Chapter 2: Min 80%, Max 110% Chapter 3: Min 70%, Max 115% Chapter 4: Min 60%, Max 120% Chapter 10: Min 0%, max 150% Completing the game: Max 200% Complete "Melancholy of Barbara": Max +50% CP+25 Page 2- Enemy Strength can be adjusted here. Simply set your desired enemy level and walk off. No irritating passing bills or waiting as the senate all agrees or disagrees. Unlocked after game clear: Land of Carnage mode drastically increases the enemy's stats and level, but is the only way you'll be able to obtain items over rank 33. Unlocked after clearing "The Evilest Man" post-game map: Rasetsu Mode potentially increases stats even further than Land of Carnage mode, but allows your items to be increased to level 999. Activating Land of Carnage and Rasetsu mode simultaneously will give *all* enemies a bonus 5,000,000 to all stats, and 150,000,000 to hit points, even on the tutorial levels. As soon as you unlock Rasetsu mode, you will likely be able to take advantage of it to re-level your previously maxed out items, even if you're not rocking a ton of stored reincarnation levels. Support Attack and Support Defense are available to be turned on and off as soon as you experience them in combat. If you don't want people taking bullets or stealing kills when you're trying to level someone up, it may be prudent to turn these off. Unlocked after restarting the game using the Time Traveler: Battle Dialog can be set to Off, if you don't feel like watching Flonne and Etna chat with each other while replaying the story. Page 3- Unlocked after Item World opens: Search Route can be set to ITEM or INNOCENT. The bonuses conferred by this are negligible, but Innocent seems to be more rewarding, as its bonuses actually appear more often. Setting this to "Item" allows a level sphere to appear with a frequency of about 0.5%, or once every 200 levels. "Innocent" will allow subdued innocents to gain a boost when subdued, and happens about 1 in 10 times on low rank items, but almost every time on higher rank items. Also on Innocent route, an innocent can randomly appear. This happens roughly once every 30 floors. Unlocked after making it to floor 30 in Item world: Geo Count can be set to "None" "Normal" or "Many" here. This sets how many geo symbols and panels appear in generated floors. "Many" is good for items that spawn monsters higher level than your characters, as it is more likely you will be able to survive the stage via Reverse Damage, Deathblow, or Invincibility panels appearing. "None is good if you're significantly higher level than the monsters in the item you're clearing, as you won't get surprised (read: annoyed) by random "Mighty Enemy" or "Invincibility" tiles messing with your speed. Unlocked after making it to floor 60 in an item: Adjust Island - set to Expand (good for massive geo combos) to have a huge floors with few enemies, Cramped (good for fast clears), to have super small stages you can buzz right through. Cramped and No Geo Symbols work very well in tandem when farming innocents from lower level items, as you can use a masked hero with "Heart of Flea" evility with a long range magic user to clear stages with two actions. Cramped with Many geo symbols is good for item worlds with higher level enemies, as you can often use the geo symbols to lock the enemies away from you while poking them down with ranged attacks. Unlocked after beating an Item God: Pirates and Treasure Set to None, Normal, or High to increase or decrease the amount of treasure boxes and pirates that appear during an adventure into item world. Page 4- Unlocked after clearing Prinny Land 3: Prinny Day Every Day - You will only be able to dispatch prinnies, however, the rate at which rare and legendary items spawn increases, and the bonus gauge will only spawn items, as per a senate-passed Prinny Day bill. Unlocked after clearing Prinny Land X: Explosion Range - While set to "On", the explosion range of prinnies and bombs will be doubled. This will allow default evility prinnies to target *40* panels with their explosions, and cross bombers to hit *10* panels away from their landing points. If ever there was a game to make a prinny bomb squad, this is the one. ???? Page 5- The "fun" page. You can set difficult challenges for yourself here. Do you want to beat the game with level 1 characters, going solely on item power? Do you want to avoid using area of effect skills like level 9 Omega Star and Heal? This is the page for you! This does absolutely nothing to make the game easier for you, however. Auto-Heal at Base - Everyone will be healed when you return to base EXP 0 - Set experience gain to 0% Weapon Master 0 - Set weapon mastery gain to 0% Special Skill EXP 0 - Set special skill EXP to 0% No Cancel - Make it such that, once a movement or command has been confirmed, there will be no taking it back. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 04.40 - Other Neat Tricks -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 04.41 - Hospital Rewards -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tons of HL early game: Make some "Good-for-Nothing" level characters as soon as you can, spending all the bonus points to reduce their hit points. Then, go to a stage you can easily clear with a single character. Loose your army of Good-for-nothings, keeping at least one slot left to summon the character you plan on clearing the stage with. Let the enemies kill off your good-for-nothings, then clear the stage. Heal your allies at the hospital to get your resurrect count up, then sell the rewards that come from reviving units. This should give you some HL to work with if you want to take advantage of the rest of the hospital rewards. Epic Gear early game: After getting your revive count up, unequip/re-equip a unit with your best HP and SP boosting gear, then heal at the hospital. Rinse and repeat until you get the next tiers of muscle, orb, or emblem. You can then sell these items to fuel further hospital abuse, and to get some incredibly powerful equipment very early in the game. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 04.42 - Collecting Innocents -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Once you get to the endgame, you'll find yourself looking to level up incredibly fast for purposes of reincarnating and storing levels. In order to gain levels with the speed Disgaea veterans are used to, you'll want to stack a ton of statisticians on an item. Each statistician can have 300 power on its own, but a character can benefit from as many as 4900 statisticians. Since duplication is gone, you'll need to go through item world, subduing them as you see them. And since you can't buy statisticians in the main store anymore, you need to keep an eye out for statisticians on gear you find.
In Squirming Death (Stage 9-3), you will encounter several enemies, all equipped
with multiple items. Since innocents no longer apear in Rosenqueen shop in the
castle, stealing equipment from the enemies on this stage should be a primary
source of innocents. Also, since this stage *requires* you to get a geo chain
long enough to fill the bonus gauge, you'll have a selection of items to choose
from each time you clear this stage regardless of thief status.
Once you have obtained your desired innocents, it's time to multiply them.
-Go to the cheat shop, and set "Item World Route" to "Innocent".
-Take a subdued version of the innocent you want to level up, and place it on an
item that has an UNSUBDUED innocent of the same type.
-Combine these two innocents to make a high level unsubdued innocent.
-Travel into the item world that contains this unsubdued innocent.
-OPTIONAL: Wait until after floor 50 to subdue
-OPTIONAL: Wait until "Innocent" geo effect is present to subdue
In the best case, the effects multiply with each other to give amazing effects.
(Recently, a level 40 unsubdued guardian became a 248 guardian upon subdue,
using innocent tile on floor 55.)
At the very worst, you will get a subdued version of the innocent as if you'd
done nothing out of the ordinary. If the "Innocent Path" bonus triggers, you
will get a bonus based on the level of your innocent, multiplying its power.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
04.43 - The Dark Senate
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the Dark Senate, before you get to a point where you can pass every bill by
force, you'll find there are a fair amount of bills you want to pass, but don't
feel comfortable looking at "Success Rate: 18%"
This section tells you how to pass bills and get senators on your side. Once a
senator is on your side, they will always lean towards your bills more than if
you hadn't done anything at all.
Golems like armor
Landsharks like symbols (dark rosary etc.)
Boars like orbs
Succubi like stealing hands
Reapers like glasses
Flambergs like muscles
Ghosts like monster weapons
Prinnies like snacks (Mint Gum etc.)
Dragons like belts, but tend to be drunk
Everyone likes rare and legendary items.
If you go to the Rosenqueen shop and purchase 40 rank one armors, glasses,
monster weapons, belts, stealing hands, and mint gums, you will be able to bribe
the majority of the senate to total support for less than 30,000 HL.
With the proper preparation, most bills can be passed without the need for
violence or opening your wallet.
Base:
Angel's "Increase movement range" is 67% success rate
After one bill:
Angel's "Increase movement range" is 72% success rate
After two bills:
Angel's "Increase movement range" is 74% success rate
After three bills:
Angel's "Increase movement range" is 78% success rate
This also works on item world senates.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
04.44 - Upgrading Items
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After hours of trekking through item world, you finally make it to floor 99 of
a Testament, and you're all set to turn on Land of Carnage, and save/load until
the gate is clear and you can walk in and steal the Exodus from the Item God.
However, he never seems to have a legendary one.
Has this happened to you? If you say "no", I hate you.
If you say "yes", however, you can save yourself a lot of aggravation!
New to Disgaea D2 is an item upgrade system. After making it to floor 30 of a
common item, the floor clear count resets to 0, and it is upgraded to rare.
After clearing 60 floors of a rare item, it is then reset to floor 0 and
upgraded to legendary.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
04.50 - The Demon Dojo
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Introduced early in the game is the Demon Dojo. It offers you slots to put your
characters in to increase a desired stat more than usual on levelup. While it's
largely a gimmick with nearly negligible benefits, the Demon Dojo has one aspect
that makes it absolutely indispensable in the late game. The ability to make
your characters have 300% aptitudes.
Weapon Assembly.
After you clear the main story, weapon assembly becomes available at the Demon
Dojo. This training offers a chance to improve a random aptitude after battle.
Increasing the training's level by using the character in the group will also
increase the chance an aptitude will be raised after battle.
Increasing the level of the weapon assembly training also increases its
efficacy by a not-insignificant amount, doubling the amount of aptitude boost
given at each level, and allowing another unit to gain the bonuses as well.
Units can gain these bonuses at the end of any combat they were involved in.
-A fielded character that took no actions can gain bonus aptitude
-A fielded character that gained no levels can gain bonus aptitude
-A fielded character that gained levels can gain bonus aptitude
-A level 9999 character can gain bonus aptitude
-Characters can gain bonus aptitude when COMPLETING an item world stage
-Characters CANNOT gain bonus aptitude when SKIPPING an item world stage
In order to increase training of any type, there must be a character engaged in
that type of training, and that character must be on the field at the end of a
battle. Item world stages do not count towards totals for purposes of
increasing training levels. Multiple characters in the same training will cause
the training type to level up faster. Once you unlock level 2 weapon assembly,
put a second character in there and field both to unlock level 3 weapon assembly
sooner.
Level Power Fields to level
1 1 Clear the main story
2 2 30
3 5 18 (both units), 35 (one unit), 75 (total)
4 10 50 (3 units), 150 (1 unit), 225 (total)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
04.60 - Weapon Skills
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Each weapon, except for staff and monster weapon, has an assortment of skills
that are learned as you gain weapon ranks, as well as two ultimate skills which
can be acquired from the skill merchant in item world.
The range is either (A)uto, (L)line, or (F)ree.
-Range 2A means it will target 2 squares away, but you can't change the targets
without moving yourself.
-Range 2L means the skill will target anyone up to two squares away, but you can
only set the main target in a straight line in front of the character.
-Range 2F means you can choose the target anywhere within 2 squares, either
straight or diagonal. Magic is almost always F.
Which weapon should you use? That's strictly a matter of preference. They all
have their advantages.
FIST WEAPONS are the only weapons that move targets off panels.
SWORD WEAPONS have the greatest versatility, and the only 3 range SS skill.
SPEAR WEAPONS are versatile, and also attack multiple units with their basic
attacks.
BOW WEAPONS are the longest free range weapons in the game.
GUN WEAPONS have the longest range in the game, but can only fire in a line.
AXE WEAPONS decrease enemy DEF on attack, and are the only weapons that have
both an S and an SS power skill.
BOOK WEAPONS have the only star-element SS power skill, and offer more INT and
other relevant stats than staves do
STAFF WEAPONS have no skills inherent, but improve the range and area effect of
magic spells.

Another slugfest. The knights will mount the gels, and the beastmasters will
dominate all the monsters in sight. The gels have "reduce non elemental damage
by 75%" evility, coupled with the knights making their stats and resistances
significantly higher than they would normally be.
The game tries to throw "Fire Element -50%" blocks at you, so you can set up a
front where the gels lose their crazy defensive bonus, and it sounds like a
straightforward plan, until you remember "star" is also an element.
An element the knights don't confer protection against.

will throw omega ice at you.
~~The Outside Ringer

A straight up boss fight. You will be required to whittle down his evility
before you can actually damage him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
05.11 - Prinny Land Mk.II
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dark Senate Bill: Prinny Land! Part 2
Available after completing "Detour: Prinny Land"
~~Prinny Land 4
TO CLEAR: No special requirements
Enemy strength: Level 1000
36 prinnies on this stage, with the small blast radius evility, no humanoids,
ally lonely, enemy turbo, and no lifting squares makes it hard to take advantage
of the prinnies' prinniness.
If you can't take out level 1000 demon penguins on fair ground, you can take a
monster that has the strength to destroy a geo symbol with 20,000 HP and send it
into the fray. You will require an effective attack range (move+attack) of 11.
-Position the map such that your desired geo symbol is up and right from your
base panel.
-Summon a prinny, or other monster that has a receive score of at least 6, and
move it 3/4/5 spaces up-right, and 3 spaces up-left. 5 spaces if your receive
value is 7 or more. 4 spaces if you can get that far, and have a unit that
can throw 6 spaces. 3 spaces if your best thrower is Laharl.
-Have the prinny (or other receiver) face up-left.
-Summon a heavy knight, or other character with sufficient throw range to reach
the reciever, and move one space in the reciever's direction.
-Summon your geo symbol killing monster
-Lift the geo symbol killing monster and throw it at the reciever
-Kill the desired geo symbol
-Unsummon the reciever
This will end your first turn with your thrower at your base panel, and a
straded geo symbol killing monster, but you will have gotten rid of (hopefully)
the most annoying aspect of the stage (usually enemy turbo 3x or No Lifting), so
your 8 remaining summons should be enough to clear this stage.
~~Prinny Land 5
TO CLEAR: The ability to reach enemies 37dm higher than ground level
Enemy strength: Level 2500
More no humanoid shenanigans. If you have a monster that can duel with 2500s,
or break geo symbols with 40,000 HP, you can tower throw the monster right to
the end of the stage to prevent the cloning nastiness before it starts.
~~Prinny Land X
TO CLEAR: No special requirements
Enemy strength: Level 3000~4000. Boss with 4m HP and 400k stats
It's a boss fight. The boss's evility prevents the damage dealt by the first
attack in each turn, which isn't a big deal, considering you want your first
attack in a turn to be the weakest, as you combo up to the big one.
-Queue up all your attacks from weakest to strongest, leaving one unit available
to act later.
-Execute your attacks.
-Take your character that has not acted and lift the boss.
-End turn. Repeat until battle end.
NOTE: This boss has an attack range of 3, which means he also has a
COUNTERATTACK range of 3. If you plan on killing with melee damage, you
may also want to invest in the DEF stat to keep them alive longer.
Clearing this stage will get you three new characters.
Clearing this stage will give you +100 CP at the cheat shop, and increase the
maximum capacity by 100.
Clearing this stage will unlock Explosion Range at the cheat shop.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
05.20 - Prinny Land Mk.III
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
~~Prinny Land X, Revisited
TO CLEAR: No special requirements
Enemy strength: Level 8000. 4x unliftable Boss with 20m HP and 700k stats
After beating this stage, you'll have the option to come back and a different
boss fight will be available.
There are no tricks to this stage, the bosses cannot be lifted. Simply level up
and overpower them.
While the fight may seem overwhelming at first, it's actually the *easiest*
place you will be able to obtain a legendary Arcadia, which is required to get
the vaunted Trapezohedron item.
Your goal, in addition to clearing this stage, is to steal a legendary Arcadia.
The difference in difficulty between this stage and the next stage is akin to
the difference between the tutorial stage and the final boss.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
05.30 - Challenge: Ultimate Play Through
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Available only while Rasetsu mode is active.
You may notice a slight jump in difficulty.
~~Tyrand Overlord War
TO CLEAR: Be the very best, like no one ever was.
Enemy strength: 100,000,000,000 HP, 500,000,000 stats
You get attacked whenever you leave your base panel, so you are required to even
have your fodder characters strong enough to eat an attack.
This guy is immune to attacks after recieving them once, so you are required to
have more than one character capable of fighting (Or one character with a
spectacular array of skills to choose from).
If you're not strong enough, power up in true disgaea fashion.
-Item world until your eyes bleed.
Level 999 items procured via Rasetsu mode are required for this.
-300% aptitudes from the "Weapon Assembly" Dojo is practically required.
-Stored levels from reincarnating all day every day helps.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
06.00 - Cave of Ordeals
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once you have 7,000 mana, you can suggest the "Cave of Ordeals" bill at the Dark
Senate.
As in every other Disgaea game, the Cave of Ordeals is the single best place to
gain a lot of levels very quickly. This game's experience pinata is Cave of
Ordeals stage 6 and has monsters of level 300.
This section is dedicated to getting you to that stage as early as possible.
The bill has a low base acceptance rate, but is definitely high enough to bribe
your way through. Senators will be as high as level 1100, so "persuade by force"
may be exceedingly difficult. Take advantage of your nearly limitless inventory
space and buy a lot of goodies to feed to the senators as described in section
04.43 - The Dark Senate.
~~Cave of Ordeals 1
TO CLEAR: No special requirements
Enemy strength: Level 60
GEO PUZZLE:
Destroy the NULL geo symbol
Straightforward threaten map. If you don't clear the map fast enough, the
encroaching ally damage/enemy boost combo will come and make sure you have a bad
time.
~~Cave of Ordeals 2
TO CLEAR: If you're using one unit to clear this stage, make sure you DO NOT
accidentally encompass the WARP geo symbol in your area of effect
attacks, or you will be stuck on your island, forcing the rest of
your team to fight the other monsters
Enemy strength: Level 80
Warp from area to area, popping the units in the order you choose.
~~Cave of Ordeals 3
TO CLEAR: No special requirements
Enemy strength: Level 135, plus massive DEF boosts
GEO PUZZLE:
Destroy the RED geo symbol (11 range attack required)
The enemies on this stage are intensely infurating in that they take advantage
of the female angels' defensive evilities to the fullest. However, if you're
not strong enough to take these guys out, even on their fortress, you are not
likely to be strong enough to take out Cave of Ordeals 6.
~~Cave of Ordeals 4
TO CLEAR: DO NOT destroy the blue geo symbol without a way to also take care of
the yellow "No Entry" geo symbol, or you will be locked out of range
of the geo symbols and enemies and be forced to reset.
Otherwise, no special requirements.
Enemy strength: Level 170~180
GEO PUZZLE:
Destroy the BLUE, then YELLOW, then RED geo symbols in the same execute.
The catsabers will not move to you while you whittle down the gargoyles with
magic and ranged attacks.
If you cannot fight the gargoyles on their turf, you can rush to the geo symbols
and make life easier. All you will require is a prinny with 7 move, a masked
hero with "Heart of Flea" evility, and one or two characters to throw.
-Move the prinny 7 spaces up-left from the base panel, facing up-right.
-lift and throw the masked hero on top of the prinny. The prinny will launch
the masked hero well into the red "Enemy Boost" territory.
-Move the masked hero in between the blue and yellow geo symbols.
-Lift the yellow geo symbol, and throw it onto the null geo symbol.
This will remove the "No Entry" effect, and allow you to get into melee combat
with the gargoyles.
~~Cave of Ordeals 5
TO CLEAR: If you mess up the geo puzzle and set the field to Absolute Area, you
will be unable to win, and must restart the map.
Enemy strength: Level 230
Not a tricky map, just difficult. Bring your healers and ranged A-game.
The knights all offer allied units bonus elemental resistance, making non-star
magic difficult to take advantage of.
If you prefer to fight melee, you can lift and throw your way to the green
"recovery 40%" panels and fight there.
If you have the offense to kill the enemies in one shot, but not the defense to
survive, you can summon your character, launch your attack, then have someone
throw your character back into the base panel. If the character that has the
strength to one-shot the enemy is melee, you can lose some summons to bring one
ally to the field per turn to lure the enemies closer.
If you *can't* kill the enemies with one shot, you're not likely to be able to
clear Cave of Ordeals 6, and a trip to Item World or 6-1 may be prudent.
~~Cave of Ordeals 6
TO CLEAR: No special requirements
Enemy strength: 280~300
And now, the reason you've all come here today. The experience pinata! The
enemies are nicely grouped up in a... wait a second...
The enemies are scattered all over the place, and the geo symbols are very bad
for you. This stage's magic happens AFTER YOU'VE ALREADY CLEARED IT ONCE.
Suffer the hard fight, sacrificing a unit to clear the geo symbols, if need be,
and do what you can to keep the units from all going aggro at the same time to
get to the real gem.
~~Cave of Ordeals 6, Revisited
TO CLEAR: No special requirements
Enemy strength: 300
A 2x3 and 3x3 formation of landsharks standing nicely on exp/mana +100% tiles,
just waiting to get the smackdown laid upon them by high level fire spells, big
bang, or whatever other area of effect shenanigans you have planned.
Tips to make this match easier
-Shamans can be fielded to lower enemy evasion.
-Unique Archer from chapter 7 can be fielded to close (or widen) the stat gap.
-Sea Angels can be fielded to increase EXP gain or stat boosts.
-Gunner provides a 100% bonus to damage when people follow up his attacks in a
combo attack.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

09.00 - Frequently Asked Questions
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm in the post game. How do I start the story over?
-In Laharl's throne room, at the far right of the screen, you will see a Masked
Hero. Select "Go back to the past!" to replay the story or collect endings.
I found a mysterious button! What does it do?
-After touching the mysterious button hidden in the skull at the rosenqueen shop
desk and the other button behind the thronw, you will be able to access the
secret chamber, located in the center room (that leads to the garden).
However, you will not be able to enter this room if Etna is in your party.
How do I get billions of damage in a single hit, in ten words or less?
-Character level (6-1, Cave of Ordeals 6, Land of Carnage, Ransetsu Mode),
Stored levels (get level 9999, reincarnate, repeat ad nauseum)
Item level (Item world, then Ransetsu mode to level the item up to 999)
300% Aptitudes (Weapon Assmbly at Demon Dojo)
Relevant innocents (Muscleman, Hard Worker, Gladiator)
Absorb stats from enemies (Land of Carnage mode)
What characters should I have in my party?
-While this game offers amazing customizability, and can be beaten with any
combination of characters, having an assortment will make life easier in
certain chapters if you come prepared.
~~Skull/Witch with a staff, fire, wind, ice, star, heal, and espoir.
~~Healer/Flonne with fire, wind, ice, star, heal, and espoir
~~Archer/Gunner/Etna with a gun
~~A Thief for create box/barrel and stealing
~~Slime/Golem/Prinny x2, equipped with the best mobility items you can give them
Mobile monsters with massive recieve ranges will make throw chains for bonus
stages in item world easier, trivialize "no lift" zones, and allow you to
throw many characters without wasting summon slots.
~~Mothman, equipped with the best mobility items you can give him
A mobile flying monster has a shorter recieve range, but can get around enemy
units when you can't afford to waste a spell to cut a bloody swath.
~~Masked Hero x2, with heart of flea, and best mobility items you can give him
Coupled with your mage or sufficiently levelled gunner/archer, this character
will allow you to clear item world stages in seconds.
In bonus stages, one will run to the level sphere to grab it, the other will
run and escape the stage.
~~"Decrease evasion" shaman x3 / "Decrease stats" shaman x3
Good for bosses
~~A monster capable of combat
~~Heavy Knight x4 (Or more) with the best mobility items you can give them
The best lift+throwers in the game
~~A prinny for throwing in prinny land
~~REMEMBER!: Everyone can learn Heal and Espoir, so teach it to everyone
How do I get another Evility on my character?
-In order to get a second evility on a character, you need to max out the
likeability to five hearts, then pass the Dark Senate bill "I want their
Evility" to transfer it onto the character you want. The secondary character
will lose their evility until they reincarnate.
Where do I get rank 39 items from?
-Only in Land of Carnage can items above rank 34 be stolen from enemies.
Fortunately, with an infinite supply of Mr. Gency exits, you can enter item
world, steal an item of your choice, and quit out until you get bored.
