First of all, let me explain the reason that made me create this FAQ. When I finished "The Journey" of Shin Megami Tensei Persona 3: FES, I decided I was going to try "The Answer". But, one of the first things I heard about it almost made me give up: you don't have a Persona Compendium. I thought "OMG, how am I gonna get good Personas? Will I have to /find/ them all? I used to rely so much on fusions!". But, well, I decided I wouldn't rely on luck to find the Personas I wanted, then I made a crazy strategy to keep with the fusion. And since I made it, why not share it with everyone? So, the most important thing, imo, is having Personas of all the elements, so I could exploit the enemies' weaknesses. Then I made some sort of chart for each type of Persona (Fire, Ice, Wind, Electricity, Dark and Light) based on my completed Compendium from "The Journey". By the way, I realized some Personas in "The Answer" had different skills comparing to the same Persona in "The Journey". Nothing big, really. Also, if you keep a Persona for each element, you still have 6 extra slots for the Personas you'll use for fusion. One more thing: I didn't bother getting skills other than elemental attacks (and boosts for elemental attacks). I naturally came over healing skills in the process, and I'm not very fond of status skills. When the Personas reach higher levels I pay more attention to non-elemental skills (this will be further explained in the next section). Well, enough of me explaining my motives. In the next section, I'll explain how I organized this FAQ. ======================================= 2. Understanding this Guide [xutgx] ======================================= --------------------------------------- | | | IMPORTANT SECTION!!! READ BEFORE!!! | | | --------------------------------------- It won't take long: - I'll start with Personas with level 20 or more, considering Aigis' starting level. - The list consist of each Persona with that element inheritance, sorted by their levels. I organized the list in two ways, but the information on both are EXACTLY the same. - In the first part of this FAQ, I grouped the Personas by elemental attribute (which is good if you want to know how you'll evolve an attribute). - On the second part, I sorted them only by level (which is an easier guide to follow, since you'll be able to have a better look on what Personas you'll have to fuse in a given moment). - I'll list only the element-specific skills. - I'll write notes for most of Personas, so you can choose better if you want to fuse them or not. READ THEM, they have good information. - I'm going to make a suggestion on how to fuse that Persona, except for the first Persona of each element. - I'm also going to rate each Persona according to my recommendation of you fusing it or not. It's based on their skills and status attributes (like strength) and on a comparison to Personas of same element and similar level. - Here's what each rate means: * (1 star) - "Don't Even Bother" - don't get this Persona, because it's a total waste of time. ** (2 stars) - "Not Necessary" - if you have free time and free Personas, you may fuse this one, but it won't make a big difference for you. *** (3 stars) - "Recommendable" - you should get this Persona. It's good and it will help you. But if you level up and become able to fuse better Personas, you may skip this one. **** (4 stars) - "Don't Miss It!" - this Persona has good status and good skills. Don't miss them for nothing, because they'll be a big help for you. And I mean it! ***** (5 stars) - "ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!" - only 6 Personas fall into this category. They're what I call "Threshold Personas". I call them that way because when you reach them, you'll have all of that element's skills. Each of them have a unique skill that no other Persona has, but other Personas can inherit those special skills. I'll list the Personas, their elements and their unique skills: * Surt (Lv. 52) - FIRE - Ragnarok * Skadi (Lv. 80) - ICE - Niflheim * Odin (Lv. 57) - ELECTRICITY - Thunder Reign * Norn (Lv. 62) - WIND - Panta Rhei * Daisoujou (Lv. 53) - LIGHT - Samsara * Alice (Lv. 56) - DARK - Die for Me! After you get these "Threshold Personas", you'll want to pass the skills on. When it happens, I'll change the listing a little bit. I'll list all the good skills, instead of only the element-related, since you already have all skills of that element and should aim for the amazing high-level skills. The rest is about the same. As for the "Light and Dark" inheritance-type Personas (there are only four, and they're all of Judgement Arcana: Anubis, Trumpeter, Satan and Messiah), I listed them as the other "Post-threshold Personas", in case you want to have another Persona for Light and/or for Dark, and because some of them have great skills. Here's an example of how I'm going to do it: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Lv.) - Persona's name (Arcana) * skills with "*" are the ones the Persona start with. + skills with "+" are the ones the Persona must learn. I listed them in the order you get them. Recommendation Level: (from * to *****) Notes: VERY IMPORTANT! Read them! They'll tell what skills you should put in this Persona when fusing it. These notes will also give more clear hints on whether you should fuse this Persona or not (eg., "make sure you fuse this Persona with Hama Boost" ; "if you don't have [Hama Boost] yet, you should get this Persona" ; etc.). Skill names will be written between [ ] and Persona names between < >. Make sure you fuse with [Fire Boost]. Fusion Suggestions: Use and Triangle Spread. Since and are both Magician, use any two Personas whose current levels are lower than 's and their product through Normal Spread would be also Magician, like (Fool) and (Hanged Man). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 28 - Orthrus (Hanged Man) * Agilao + Fire Boost Recommendation Level: ** Notes: Only get if you didn't get 's [Fire Boost]. Fuse it with 's (or any other Persona's) [Maragi]. Fusion Suggestions: Fusing it with at this point of the game would require Triangle Spread. If you have , fuse with ' [Maragi] and [Fire Boost]. You can't miss it! also has a high Strength status. You can fuse it with [Agilao], if you want to have a single enemy fire skill before he learns [Agidyne]. There are many ways to do that, and of them is fusing (Fortune), (Hermit) AND (Empress) - make sure ' current level is the highest among them.        passing the skills on, try to level the Personas you'll use for the
       fusion, so they learn more skills and you'll able to pass on more skills
       than before. All three Personas must have learned 8 skills in order to
       pass 5 skills to the next Persona.

Q1: What's the Compendium?

A1: The Compendium is an encyclopedia available during "The Journey" where you
    can register your Personas and later summon them exactly how you registered
    them. That made Persona Fusion a lot easier, and that's why we miss it in
    "The Answer".

Q2: I can't find the Personas you suggested to make the fusion! Is there any
    other way to make the Persona I want to?

A2: Yes, there's always another way. In fact, there are many many ways to fuse
    a Persona. You can always check the charts and FAQs on Gamefaqs or, as
    suggested to me by "A Link to the Future" by e-mail, you can download the
    program "Igor's Index - A Compendium of the Soul", which is a simulator for
    the fusions you wanna make. It's a lot easier than making all those tests
