Ar Tonelico Diving Guide Version 0.14.0 "Psychogenic Pandemonium" by Xerain ////////////////// // Introduction // ////////////////// I've been writing down various information on the game as I've been playing it. My collection of Cosmosphere notes has grown large enough where I deemed it useful to others, despite being in it's somewhat fragmented beginnings. It's currently missing some of the stuff at the very beginning, since I hadn't started taking notes yet, however the missing parts are pretty simple. This guide is spoiler free with the necessary exception of listing which characters are divable. Since one of them doesn't join until near the end of the game, this might be considered a significant spoiler by some people. I personally knew who it was before the game even came out, and there is a picture of her in battle in the instruction manual. So, take it as you will. I’ve not been updating the guide as steadily as I used to as my replay of the game is still pending. I was going to start the second play immediately, but then though about how nice it would be to get a sound card with optical in, as well as surround sound computer speakers.... so I’m kind of holding off playing again until that time. Feel free to continue to submit feedback, though. /////////////////////////////////// // Rudimentary Table of Contents // /////////////////////////////////// Frequently Asked Questions Legend Aurica's Cosmosphere Misha's Cosmosphere Shurelia's Virtual World Song Stores Girls' Crafting Cosmosphere Quests Version History Credits Legal //////////////////////////////// // Frequently Asked Questions // //////////////////////////////// Most of these have to do with Diving, character interaction, etc, however there are some other misc FAQs here because they are asked that often. Q> Should I dive as soon as I meet the stamp requirement, or wait until I have all of the stamps of a given level? Will I miss anything if I clear a level as soon as it is possible to do so? A> The stamps don't seem to affect the contents of a Cosmosphere level. They're only used to qualify you for clearing it. Q> How do I get Aurica’s Second level 5 stamp during phase 1? A> Have Aurica in your current party and wearing the school days costume. After battling with it for a while it should become a topic of discussion, which will probably lead to the stamp you are looking for. Q> Then why are there so many stamps if so few are required? A> They're probably just there for you to collect. That has merit in it's own right as you learn more about each Reyvateil with each conversation. Q> Is there any draw back to diving too deep too quickly? A> It seems you can get to level 5 as soon as you are able to dive. As for any possible draw backs of doing so, the only ones I can think of is that the Cosmosphere might get slightly out of sync with the story. For example, you can learn something about a Reyvateil's past in the Cosmosphere, but they when you finally learn about it outside the Cosmosphere, Lyner will still be surprised. Also there might be parts that are loosely related to story events that haven't occurred yet. All in all, this won't really spoil, but it might feel a bit disjointed. Q> Are there any songs in the Cosmosphere that can be missed? A> On Misha’s Level 3 and 4 there are optional (and rather DP heavy) events to obtain her Flower spell. However, if you miss getting it here you WILL still be able to get it on level 9; you’ll just have to wait a while. Q> How come Misha can't wear her Sailor Girl (etc.) costume? A> It’s probably too big for her; you’ll need to advance the story. Q> How do I make ?Cotton? / ?Cloth? / ?String? / Don Leon? Where do I find Shiny Fur? A> The first place I got Shiny Fur from was from the Tail of Remembrance in in Phase 2. It's pretty far into Phase 2, when you are repairing the Air Ship. It's in the first treasure room to the right, shortly after you enter. As for the bomb, I got the recipe from it from buying Ar Tonelicards, IIRC. There's got to be a better way to get it, though. Try Platina or something. Q> What do the Ar Tonelicards sold at Firefly Alley do? A> Use them from your inventory and you will get random cards added to your card collection. This is how you get the majority of the monster data, and you can get some recipes sooner than you would find them normally this way. //////////// // Legend // //////////// <<< In the Game >>> The layout of a given Cosmosphere level is pretty simple. You have dots for potential areas interest, with paths leading between them. Pushing on the control pad moves you along the path to the next location. (Think: Super Mario World’s World Map) On the map the locations are usually represented by dots, but ones that are currently related to causing the paradigm shift will be marked on the map as stars. In the Lower left of the screen is the info window for the location. Here You will see the DP coast to enter the location, as well as the current importance rank (number of stars) of the area. You will also see some indicators of what is inside the area. These are As follows: [Song] The Reyvateil will craft a new song as a result of the event. [DP] An additional DP cost must be paid to clear the event. [Art] The scene will contain a piece of full-screen artwork. [Song Store] Entering this location will give you access to the song store. [Battle] There will be a battle here. Only appears for Shurelia. <<< In this Guide >>> **. <--- This is the level of importance of an area, as stated by the game. In this example it is two stars. () mean on the map it is a normal dot. {} mean on the map it is a star. e.g. {*..} would be a star on the map of low importance (according to the game). (**.) would be a dot on the map of moderate importance (according to the game). This quest can't be completed until after you make your Aurica/Misha path choice. If you choose to go with the search team, you won't be going further into Aurica's Cosmosphere for a while. Note, the maximum DP for the level could be as high as you want, since you can keep entering the Cave Inn over and over for 5 DP. Now the Wharf of Endless Clam. Misha has a spell here that costs 3000 DP to obtain. What's important to know is that it is optional and can be missed. It costs 20 DP to enter the first time, and you'll be told to come back again. Do so for another 20 DP, and you will have to spend 1000 DP to clear the event. Repeat again... Another 20 DP to enter, and another 1000 DP to clear. Third time's the charm... 20 to go in and 1000 to spend... and you'll have spent 3060 DP here to obtain the Flower Spell. This event can be continued on level 4 if you can’t get all the DP now. However if you don’t get it by then you will have to wait until level 9. It’s a powerful spell so I’d advise giving it’s acquisition priority over advancing the Cosmosphere. But that’s just me. You can enter a fourth time for another 20 DP, but the effect is very similar to entering a 1 DP 0 star area. Go to the Eternal Street for 120 DP to learn Ice Guard. Return to Eternal Street for another 6 DP. Now go to Frost Mountain for 60 DP. Over to the Constraint House now for 50 DP. Some name for an Inn. Go to Stonehenge. You'll need to spend an additional 80 DP to clear it. Back to the Constraint House for 130 DP. Paradigm Shift. Go wherever you like, but keep in mind it is Sleeping Forest that well advance story, so go there last, or first if you are cheap. After having entered Sleeping Forest, it's off to Misha's house. Then back to the Sleeping Forest. After that, head to the Life Tower. It will take an additional 130 DP to clear. And then back to the Sleeping Forest. It'll take 150 DP to clear. To Stonehenge. Stop by the Life Tower if you want, then proceed to Misha's house and then the wharf of Endless Calm. After that you will have three locations to choose from: Eternal Street, Frost Mountain, or Sleeping Forest. You can also waste 5 DP at Misha's house. The order you go to them in probably doesn't matter but anyway, Let's go to Eternal Street first. After spending 90 DP there, go over to Frost Mountain. Then spend another 90 DP at Sleeping Forest. After those 3 events are cleared, go to Eternal Street. When you are done there you can return for another 10 DP. To Frost Mountain, where you will need 240 DP to enter and 200 DP to clear. Then to Misha's House for 250 DP, then another 230 DP to clear. Paradigm Shift. Note that this is as deep as you can dive before making your Aurica/Misha choice. If you choose Aurica's path, then you will still be able to go a little deeper before Misha leaves. She leaves very soon after the choice is made, so head right on over to the dive shop before going elsewhere if you want to go further now. After going to the Constraint House you can go back for another 10 DP, which is probably a more interesting scene than some of the starred locations you just visited. When you are ready to move on, go to the Eternal Street. It will take 250 DP to clear the event. I kind of wonder what happens if you can't clear this... Once you get to the Temple you will need to return to the real world and complete a quest before you can continue with the level. When you have completed the quest and returned, Misha will craft the [Wo Ai ni] Red Magic. Then head back to the temple to continue the level. After the Temple Level 9 will be cleared, but you can still stay here and also return in the future to see more events and power up songs. The Song Store is at Life Tower. Don't worry, it's much easier than Aurica's and Misha's Quests. See the Quests section if you really need help. You'll leave after the ending. You'll need to reenter to access the Song Store. ///////////////// // Song Stores // ///////////////// <<< Aurica >>> ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| || Song Name || Level || DP/Level || DP to Max || ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| || Boom! || 9 / 9 || 0 DP || 0 DP || || Flamia || 4 / 9 || 1000 DP || 5000 DP || || Sword Slash || 4 / 9 || 1500 DP || 7500 DP || || Dragonferno || 3 / 9 || 2500 DP || 15000 DP || || Undine || 3 / 9 || 3500 DP || 21000 DP || || Seraphiflyer || 3 / 9 || 4000 DP || 24000 DP || || Boe || 2 / 9 || 6000 DP || 42000 DP || || Ar Tonelico || 1 / 9 || 9999 DP || 79992 DP || || Aurica Mk I || 2 / 9 || 7000 DP || 49000 DP || || Sylphan Dance || 2 / 9 || 8000 DP || 56000 DP || || My Hero || 3 / 9 || 5000 DP || 30000 DP || || Life Warmth || 5 / 9 || 5000 DP || 20000 DP || || Life Refresh || 3 / 9 || 7500 DP || 45000 DP || || Life Shower || 2 / 9 || 9000 DP || 63000 DP || || Fire Guard || 3 / 9 || 3000 DP || 18000 DP || || Wind Guard || 3 / 9 || 3000 DP || 18000 DP || || Thunder Guard || 3 / 9 || 3000 DP || 18000 DP || || Slasher || 3 / 9 || 4000 DP || 24000 DP || || Defenser || 3 / 9 || 4000 DP || 24000 DP || || Booster || 3 / 9 || 4000 DP || 24000 DP || || Chronicle || 2 / 9 || 5000 DP || 35000 DP || || Magi Q || 2 / 9 || 9999 DP || 69993 DP || || ??? || 1 / 9 || 7500 DP || 60000 DP || || Sonic Shot || 9 / 9 || 0 DP || 0 DP || || Ice Shot || 9 / 9 || 0 DP || 0 DP || || Thunder Shot || 9 / 9 || 0 DP || 0 DP || || Gale Shot || 9 / 9 || 0 DP || 0 DP || || Analyzer || 9 / 9 || 0 DP || 0 DP || ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| || Total 748485 DP || ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| <<< Misha >>> ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| || Song Name || Level || DP/Level || DP to Max || ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| || Energy Ball || 9 / 9 || 0 DP || 0 DP || || Glacial Ball || 4 / 9 || 1000 DP || 5000 DP || || Thunderclap || 2 / 9 || 1500 DP || 10500 DP || || Tear God || 3 / 9 || 3000 DP || 18000 DP || || Flower || 2 / 9 || 4000 DP || 28000 DP || || Void Slasher || 3 / 9 || 2500 DP || 15000 DP || || Stubborn Father || 4 / 9 || 7000 DP || 35000 DP || || Tower Connection || 1 / 9 || 9999 DP || 79992 DP || || Gaia Bombard || 3 / 9 || 5000 DP || 30000 DP || || Wo Ai Ni || 3 / 9 || 8000 DP || 48000 DP || || Cinna || 5 / 9 || 5000 DP || 25000 DP || || Arcadic Cinna || 3 / 9 || 7500 DP || 45000 DP || || Paradise Cinna || 2 / 9 || 9000 DP || 63000 DP || || Wind Guard || 3 / 9 || 3000 DP || 18000 DP || || Ice Guard || 3 / 9 || 3000 DP || 18000 DP || || Thunder Guard || 3 / 9 || 3000 DP || 18000 DP || || Angel Shura || 3 / 9 || 4000 DP || 24000 DP || || Angel Rishi || 3 / 9 || 4000 DP || 24000 DP || || Angel Skanda || 3 / 9 || 4000 DP || 24000 DP || || Shaman || 2 / 9 || 5000 DP || 35000 DP || || Absorbing Balloon || 2 / 9 || 9999 DP || 69993 DP || || Miracle || 1 / 9 || 7500 DP || 60000 DP || || Sonic Shot || 9 / 9 || 0 DP || 0 DP || || Ice Shot || 9 / 9 || 0 DP || 0 DP || || Thunder Shot || 9 / 9 || 0 DP || 0 DP || || Gale Shot || 9 / 9 || 0 DP || 0 DP || || Analyzer || 9 / 9 || 0 DP || 0 DP || ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| || Total 764992 DP || ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| <<< Shurelia >>> ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| || Song Name || Level || DP/Level || DP to Max || ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| || Primal Word || 9 / 9 || 0 DP || 0 DP || || A.B.R. || 3 / 9 || 9999 DP || 59994 DP || || Apostle of Mir || 3 / 9 || 9999 DP || 59994 DP || || ELMA-DS || 3 / 9 || 9999 DP || 59994 DP || || Shadow || 3 / 9 || 9999 DP || 59994 DP || || Silver Horn || 3 / 9 || 9999 DP || 59994 DP || || Ar Tonelico || 3 / 9 || 9999 DP || 59994 DP || || Child of Light || 3 / 9 || 9999 DP || 59994 DP || || Life Fill || 5 / 9 || 9999 DP || 39996 DP || || Energy Fill || 3 / 9 || 9999 DP || 59994 DP || || Blast Fill || 3 / 9 || 9999 DP || 59994 DP || || Medi Fill || 3 / 9 || 9999 DP || 59994 DP || || Full Cushion || 2 / 9 || 9999 DP || 69993 DP || || Prophesy || 1 / 9 || 9999 DP || 79992 DP || || Sonic Shot || 9 / 9 || 0 DP || 0 DP || || Ice Shot || 9 / 9 || 0 DP || 0 DP || || Thunder Shot || 9 / 9 || 0 DP || 0 DP || || Gale Shot || 9 / 9 || 0 DP || 0 DP || || Analyzer || 9 / 9 || 0 DP || 0 DP || ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| || Total 789921 DP || ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| ///////////////////// // Girls' Crafting // ///////////////////// I'm not sure on all of the specifications for exactly when these can occur, so presently the section is kind of rough. I'm listing when I received the item, but it may be possible to receive it sooner. This is by no means the low-down on these items (yet). <<< Aurica >>> [Dokkoi Parfait] - Level 6 [Warm Sweater] - Level 6 [Supernatural Ice] - Level 7 (after leaving to do quest) - could be related to number of items in inventory. [BBQ Soda] - Level 8 - BBQ Soda... I'll have to try that. You think I'm joking. [Sky's Musicbox] - Level E <<< Misha >>> [Decorated Hakama] - Level 5 [Natural Ice] - level 7 [Capri Soda] - Level 8 - Apparently made from Aurica's Supernatural Ice. [Ocarina of Heaven] - Level E <<< Shurelia >>> [Solid Bunny] - Level 1 [Bunny Rice] - Level 3 - She sure likes bunnies. [Topology Ribbon] - Level 3 [Mecha Bunny] - Level 4 - "Please stop adding useless features to our bombs." [Food Juice] - Level 5 - Don't encourage me... [Ring or Aria] - Level 5 //////////////////////// // Cosmosphere Quests // //////////////////////// People are always asking about where to get the ingredients to make these two items, so this section will (eventually) go into depth on where and when you can get the materials. <<< Aurica >>> [Crafting Don Leon] Near the end of level 7 you won't be able to continue until you make Aurica a new Don Leon doll. Talk to Claire at the Singing Moon Inn in Nemo to get the Recipe Card. <<< Misha >>> [Sea Breeze Ocarina] In order to complete Misha's Level 9 you will need to leave and make Misha a Sea Breeze Ocarina. Rest and Lyner will talk to Misha and get the Recipe Card from her. <<< Shurelia >>> Enter Aurica's Cosmosphere Don Leon will give you the [Mamorimino Ring]. (AKA Guardian Ring) Enter Misha's Cosmospheres Hama will give you the [Hasaiyano Ring]. Now you can continue in Shurelia's Virtual World. ///////////////////// // Version History // ///////////////////// <<< "Psychogenic Pandemonium" >>> [0.14.0 – 4/10/2007] Updated information on Flower Spell Updated introduction [0.13.0 – 3/10/2007] Added Titles to the Cosmosphere levels [0.12.0 - 02/28/2007] Finished Shurelia's Song Store Miscellaneous Edits [0.11.0 - 02/27/2007] +Misha Level 9 +Misha Level E +Misha Song Store +Aurica Level 9 +Aurica Level E +Aurica Song Store +Shurelia Level 3 +Shurelia Level 4 +Shurelia Level 5 +Shurelia Song Store Began Rudimentary Table of Contents Started Girls' Crafting Section Started Quests Section Added (current) Grand Total DP for Cosmospheres Version numbering now reflects original intent - As god of this FAQ rewriting history is a nothing.
