Game Modes (Single Player) || =============================================================================== =============================================================================== | A. Quickplay | =============================================================================== Quickplay mode is very similar to the Arcade mode in the earlier Karaoke Revolution games. The major differences are that you can sing as many songs as you want without exiting the mode, and there is no stipulation for the difficulty of the next song you must pick. A more detailed explanation will be available in a future update. =============================================================================== | B. Medley | =============================================================================== Medley mode allows you to choose from 3-5 songs and sing a compilation with a part of each song. Scoring is similar to Showtime and Quick Play modes, but since different parts of each song play in different medleys, it's difficult if not impossible to make an accurate guide for all the different possible medleys in the game. I will put up a table with the maximum scores you can achieve with a certain length medley in an upcoming update. =============================================================================== | C. Karaoke | =============================================================================== Karaoke mode is another way you can practice songs or sing without worrying about what score or rating you get. This mode is also great if more than one person wants to sing along to the song because you don't need to wear the mic or worry about it picking up other voices, throwing off the reading the mic registers. In Karaoke mode, you can choose to play in one of the 8 venues, or you can choose "Full Screen Lyrics" mode, which will display the lyrics on the entire screen with the Enormobowl as a background. Each phrase will appear in succession as you must sing it, and the letters change from white to green as they pass. The phrases appear exactly as they do in the other game modes. =============================================================================== | D. Training | =============================================================================== Training mode is a walkthrough of how to play the game. This section will be a script of what the "instructor" says during the mode. Note that this training is the same as in previous games, except "The Gambler" is played for the training. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi. Welcome to Karaoke Revolution Training Mode. This is where you'll learn everything you'll need to know to play the game. Before we begin, make sure you plug in the headset and put it on your head, with the microphone placed 1-2 cm from your mouth. Ready? Let's check out the game. The object of Karaoke Revolution is to sing the song exactly the way it was originally recorded. Let me show you around a bit. These blue bars are called Note Tubes. Note Tubes show the pitch and length of each note you need to sing. The corresponding lyrics are displayed at the bottom of the screen. This is the Now Bar. When the notes and lyrics hit this bar, it's time for you to sing. The Pitch Arrow will show you the current pitch you're singing. You'll know you're in tune when the pitch arrow lines up with the Note Tubes and the sparks start flying. If the song is too high or low for you, you can sing one octave lower or higher without losing points. Let's try some singing. I'll play part of a song, and then I'll ask you to sing it. Listen closely! You'll get a few chances to try what you've just learned. Sing the lyrics as they reach the Now Bar. Ready? Go! That's it, keep going! Right on, great job! Excellent, now let's move on! Now I'll teach you about phrases. A phrase is one line of lyrics within the song, like a musical sentence. This vertical line shows you where one phrase ends and another begins. This is called the Phrase Meter. The Phrase Meter will fill up as you sing the notes correctly. At the end of every phrase, your performance will be rated. Fill the Phrase Meter completely to get a Great! rating. This is your current Score for the song. You'll get points at the end of each phrase depending on how well you did. The Crowd Meter displays how the crowd is reacting to your performance. Careful! If the Crowd Meter drops down too low, you may get booed off the stage. If you get the crowd excited enough, you'll get a score multiplier. If you score Good or Great! on three [or more] phrases in a row, you'll start a Combo. Continue getting Good and Great! ratings to keep the Combo going. Keep an eye out for special Crowd Boost! phrases. If you sing this phrase well, the crowd will go wild and the Crowd Meter will get a boost. At the end of the song, you'll get a final score tally based on your performance. If your score is high enough, you'll be awarded a Gold or Platinum record. During the song, you can change the volume levels by holding the Triangle, Circle, X or Square buttons and pressing the Directional Buttons. Okay, are you ready for your final test? Sing this song and see if you can fill up the Phrase Meter. You will be judged on your performance. Here we go! That's it, keep going! Right on, great job! Wow, very impressive! Congratulations! You've completed Training and you should be ready for Showtime. Good luck! =============================================================================== || 4. How do I get through one night without you
If I had to live without you what kind of life would that be
Oh I I need you in my arms you need to hold
You're my world my heart my soul if you ever leave
Baby you would take away everything good in my life
 And tell me now

How do I live without you I want to know
How do I breathe without you if you ever go
How do I ever ever survive
How do I how do I oh how do I live

Without you there'd be no sun in my sky
There would be no love in my life there'd be no world left for me
And I baby I don't know what I would do
I'd be lost if I lost you if you ever leave

How do I breathe without you if you ever go
How do I ever ever survive

Please tell me baby how do I go on
If you ever leave well baby you would take away everything
Need you with me baby don't you know that you're everything

How do I how do I oh how do I live
How do I live without you

[Spent forty-eight dollars last night at the county fair
I throwed out my shoulder but I won her that teddy bear
She's got me saying sugar pie honey darlin' and dear
I ain't seen the Braves play a game all year
I'm gonna get fired if I don't get some sleep
My long long buddies say I'm gettin' in too deep

But I like it I love it I want some more of it
I try so hard I can't rise above it
Don't know what it is 'bout that little gal's lovin'
But I like it I love it I want some more of it

My mama and daddy tried to teach me courtesy
But it never sank in 'til that girl got a hold of me
Now I'm holding umbrellas and openin' up doors
I'm taking out the trash and I'm sweepin' my floors
I'm crossin' my fingers and countin' every kiss
Prayin' that it keeps goin' on like this

'Cause I like it I love it I want some more of it
I try so hard I can't rise above it
Don't know what it is 'bout that little gal's lovin'
But I like it I love it I want some more of it]

Got to wash my truck and dress up
To pick her up to watch TV
And she sits down on the sofa she'll move a little closer
She can't get enough of me

And I like it I love it I want some more of it
I try so hard I can't rise above it
Don't know what it is 'bout that little gal's lovin'
But I like it I love it I want some more of it

[I've dealt with my ghosts and I've faced all my demons
Finally content with a past I regret
I've found ya find strength in your moments of weakness
For once I'm at peace with myself
I've been burdened with blame trapped in the past for too long
 I'm movin' on

I've lived in this place and I know all the faces
Each one is different but they're always the same
They mean me no harm but it's time that I face it
They'll never allow me to change
But I never dreamed home would end up where I don't belong
 I'm movin' on

I'm movin' on at last I can see
Life has been patiently waiting for me and I know
There's no guarantees but I'm not alone
There comes a time in everyone's life
When all you can see are the years passin' by
And I have made up my mind that those days
 Are gone]

I sold what I could and packed what I couldn't
Stopped to fill up on my way out of town
I've loved like I should but lived like I shouldn't
I had to lose everything to find out
Maybe forgiveness will find me somewhere down this road
I'm movin' on
I'm movin' on
I'm movin' on

Short Length: 2:39
Max Combo: 42
Short Max: 34

Well she semeed all right by dawn's early light
Though she looked a little worried and weak
She tried to pretend he wasn't drinkin' again
But Daddy left the proof on her cheek
I was only eight years old tha summer
And I always seemed to be in the way
So I took myself down to the fair in town
On Independence Day

[Well word gets around in a small small town
They said he was a dangerous man
But Mama was proud and she stood her ground
She knew she was on the losin' end
Some folks whispered some folks talked
But everybody looked the other way
When time ran out there was no one about
 On Independence Day

 Let freedom ring
 Let the white dove sing
Let the whole world know that today
Is a day of a reckoning
 Let the weak be strong
 Let the right be wrong
Roll the stone away let the guilty pay
 It's Independence Day

Well she lit up the sky that Fourth of July
By the time that the firemen come
They just put out the flames and took down some names
Sent me to the county home
 Now I ain't sayin' it's a right or it's wrong
But maybe it's the only way
 Talk about your revolution
 It's Independence Day

 Let freedom ring
 Let the white dove sing
Let the whole world know that today
Is a day of a reckoning
 Let the weak be strong
 Let the right be wrong
Roll the stone away let the guilty pay
 It's Independence Day
 Roll the stone away

Got a three day beard I don't plan to shave and it's a
Goofy thing but I just gotta say hey

Feelin' pretty good and that's the truth

And it's a great day to be alive
I know the sun's still shinin' when I close my esyes
There's some hard times in the neighborhood
But why can't every day be just this good aw yeah

It's been finfteen years since I left home
Said good luck to every seed I'd sown
Give it my best and then I lef it alone
I hope they're doin' all right
Now I look in the mirror and what do I see
A lone wolf there starin' back at me
Long in the tooth but harmless as can be
Lord I guess he's doin' all right

And it's a great day to be alive
I know the sun's still shinin' when I close my esyes
There's some hard times in the neighborhood
But why can't every day be just this good

 Sometimes it's lonely
 Sometimes it's only me
And the shadows that fill this room
 Sometimes I'm fallin'
 Desperately callin'
 Howlin' at the moon
 Ah hoo
 Ah hoo]
Yea yeah aw ha

Well I might go get me a new tattoo
Or take my old Harley for a three day cruise
Might even grow me a Fu Manchu whoa ah

Sun is hot and that old clock is movin' slow an' so am I
Work day passes like molasses in winter time but it's Ju(ly)
Gettin' paid by the hour an' older by the (minute)
My boss just pushed me over the limit
I'd like to call him somethin' but I think I'll just call it a day

Pour me somethin' tall and strong
Make it a hurricane before I go insane
It's only half past twelve but I don't care
It's five o'clock somewhere

[Well this lunch break is gonna take all afternoon an' half the night
Tomorrow morning I know there'll be hell to pay hey but that's all right
Ain't a had a day off now in over a year
My Jamaican vacation's gonna start right here
If the phone's for me you can tell 'em I just sailed away

An' pour me somethin' tall and strong
Make it a hurricane before I go insane
It's only half past twelve but I don't care
 It's five o'clock somewhere

I could pay off my tab pour myself in a cab
An' be back to work before two
At a moment like this I can't help but wonder
 What would Jimmy Buffett do
 (Funny you should ask Alan)

I'd say pour me somethin' tall and strong
Make it a hurricane before I go insane
It's only half past twelve but I don't care

Pour me somethin' tall and strong
Make it a hurricane before I go insane
It's only half past twelve but I don't care

And all of this happened by taking your hand
And who I am now is who I wanted to be
And now that we're together I'm stronger than ever I'm happy and free

I find myself alone when each day is through
Yes I'll admit that I'm a fool for you
Because you're mine I walk the line

As sure as night is dark and day is light
I keep you on my mind both day and night
And happiness I've known proves that it's right
Because you're mine I walk the line
 Hmm
You've got a way to keep me on your side
You give me cause for love that I can't hide
For you I know I'd even try to turn the tide
Because you're mine I walk the line]

[Cowboys ain't easy to love and they're harder to hold
They'd rather give you a song than^ diamonds or gold
Lonestar belt buckles and old faded Levi's
And each night begins a new day
If you don't understand him and he don't die young
 He'll probably just ride away

Mammas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys
Don't let 'em pick guitars and drive them old trucks
Let 'em be doctors and lawyers and such
Mammas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys
'Cause they'll never stay home and they're always alone
 Even with someone they love

 ***KEY CHANGE***

Cowboys like smokey old pool rooms and clear mountain mornings
Little warm puppies and children and girls of the night
Them that don't know him won't like him and them that do
Sometimes won't know how to take him
He ain't wrong he's just different but his pride won't let him
Do things to make you think he's right

Mammas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys
Don't let 'em pick guitars and drive them old trucks
Let 'em be doctors and lawyers and such
Mammas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys
'Cause they'll never stay home and they're always alone
 Even with someone they love]

===============================================================================
Difficulty: 2 (Medium)
Song Length: 3:00
Short Length: 2:13
Max Combo: 30
Short Max: 24

I've got some big news the bank finally came through
And I'm holding the keys to a brand new Chevrolet
Have you been outside it sure is a nice night
How 'bout a little test drive down by the lake
[There's a place I know about where the dirt road runs out
We can try out the four wheel drive
Come on now whadaya say girl I can hardly wait
To get a little mud on the tires

 'Cause it's a good night
To be out there soakin' up the moonlight
Stake out a little piece of shoreline
I got the perfect place in mind
It's in the middle of nowhere only one way to get there
You gotta get a little mud on the tires

Moonlight on a duck blind catfish on a trot line
Sun sets about nine this time of year
We can throw a blanket down crickets singin' in the background
More stars (than you can count) on a night this clear
I tell ya what we need to do is grab a sleepin' bag or two
And build us a little campfire
And then with a little luck we might just get stuck
Let's get a little mud on the tires

 'Cause it's a good night
To be out there soakin' up the moonlight
Stake out a little piece of shoreline
I got the perfect place in mind
It's in the middle of nowhere only one way to get there
You gotta get a little mud on the tires]

And then with a little luck we might just get stuck
Let's get a little mud on the tires

Short Length: 2:01
Max Combo: 21
Short Max: 15

[Well you filled up my head with so many lies
You twisted my heart 'til somethin' snapped inside
I'd like to give it one more try but my give a damn's busted
You can crawl back home say you were (wrong)
Stand out in the yard and cry all night long
Go ahead and water the lawn my give a damn's busted

I really wanna care I wanna feel somethin'
Let me dig a little deeper (no sorry nothin')

You can say you've got issues you can say you're a victim
It's all your parents' fault (I mean after all you didn't pick 'em
Maybe somebody else has got time to listen) my give a damn's busted
Well your therapist says it was all a mistake
A product of the Prozac and your codependent (ways
So who's your enabler these days) my give a damn's busted

I really wanna care I wanna feel somethin'
Let me dig a little deeper (nah still nothin')]

It's a desperate situation no tellin' what you'll do
If I don't forgive ya you say your life is through
(Come on give me somethin' I can use) my give a damn's busted

Well I really wanna care I wanna feel somethin'
Let me dig a little deeper (nah man sorry just nothin' nope
Ya really done it this time ha ha ha) my give a damn's busted

===============================================================================
Difficulty: 2 (Medium)
Song Length: 2:02
Short Length: 1:11
Max Combo: 25
Short Max: 16

[On the road again
Just can't wait to get on the road again
The life I love is makin' music with my friends
And I can't wait to get on the road again

 On the road again
Goin' places that I've never been
Seein' things that I may never see again
And I can't wait to get on the road again

 On the road again
Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
 We're the best of friends
Insisting that the world be turnin' our way
And our way is on the road again
Just can't wait to get on the road again
The life I love is makin' music with my friends
I can't wait to get on the road again]

On the road again
Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We're the best of friends
Insisting that the world be turnin' our way
And our way is on the road again
Just can't wait to get on the road again
The life I love is makin' music with my friends
And I can't wait to get on the road again
And I can't wait to get on the road again

Song Length: 3:37
Short Length: 2:25
Max Combo: 30
Short Max: 23

[Well I ain't never been the Barbie-doll type
No I can't swig that sweet champagne I'd rather drink beer all night
In a tavern or in a honky tonk or on a four wheel drive tailgate
I've got posters on my wall of Skynyrd Kid and (Strait)
Some people look down on me but I don't give a rip
I'll stand barefooted in my own front yard with a baby on my hip

'Cause I'm a redneck woman I ain't no high class broad
I'm just a product of my raisin' I say hey y'all and yeehaw
And I keep my Christmas lights on on my front porch all year long
And I know all the words to ever Charlie Daniels song
So here's to all my sisters out there keepin' it country
Let me get a big hell yeah from the redneck girls like me hell yeah

Victoria's Secret (well their stuff's real nice)
Whoa but I can buy the same damn thing on a Walmart shelf half price
And still look sexy just as sexy as those models on TV
No I don't need no designer tag to make my man want me
You might think I'm trashy a little too harcore
But in my neck of the woods I'm just the girl next door

Hey I'm a redneck woman I ain't no high class broad
I'm just a product of my raisin' I say hey y'all and yeehaw
And I keep my Christmas lights on on my front porch all year long
And I know all the words to ever Tanya Tucker song
So here's to all my sisters out there keepin' it country
Let me get a big hell yeah from the redneck girls like me hell yeah

I'm a redneck woman I ain't no high class broad

===============================================================================
Difficulty: 3 (Hard)
Song Length: 3:19
Short Length: 1:51
Max Combo: 26
Short Max: 17

[Well I walk into the room passin' out hundred dollar bills
And it kills and it thrils like the horns on my Silverado grill
And I buy the bar a double round of Crown
And everybody's getting down and this town
(Ain't never gonna be the same)

'Cause I saddle up my horse and I ride into the city
I make a lot of noise 'cause the girls they are so pretty
Ridin' up and down Broadway on my old stud Leroy
(And the girls say) save a horse ride a cowboy
(Everybody says) save a horse ride a cowboy

Well I don't give a dang about nothin'
 I'm singin' and bling blingin'
While the girls are drinkin' long necks down
And I wouldn't trade ol' Leroy or my Chevrolet for your Escalade
(Or your freak parade) I'm the only John Wayne left in this town

And I saddle up my horse and I ride into the city
I make a lot of noise 'cause the girls they are so pretty
Ridin' up and down Broadway on my old stud Leroy
(And the girls say) save a horse ride a cowboy
(Everybody says) save a horse ride a cowboy]

(I'm a thoroughbred that's what she said in the back of my truck bed
As I was gettin' buzzed on suds out on some back country road
We were flyin' high fine as wine and havin' ourselves a Big and Rich time
And I was going just about as far as she'd let me go)
But a her evaluation of my cowboy reputation
Had me beggin' for salvation all night long
So I took her out giggin' frogs introduced her to my old bird dog
(And sang her every Willie Nelson song I could think of)

And we made love and I saddle up my horse and I ride into the city
I make a lot of noise 'cause the girls they are so pretty
Ridin' up and down Broadway on my old stud Leroy
(And the girls say) save a horse ride a cowboy
(Everybody says) save a horse ride a cowboy
What what save a horse ride a cowboy
(Everybody says) save a horse ride a cowboy

Short Length: 2:34
Max Combo: 40
Short Max: 28

[Plowin' these fields in the hot summer sun
Over by the gate Lordy here she comes
With a basket full of chicken and a big cold jug of sweet tea
I make a little room and she climbs on up
Open up a throttle and stir a little dust
Just look at her face she ain't a foolin' me

 She thinks my tractor's sexy
 It really turns her on
 She's always starin' at me
 While I'm chuggin' along
She likes the way it's pullin' while we're tillin' up the land
She's even kinda crazy 'bout my farmer's tan
She's the only one who really understands what gets me
 She thinks my tractor's sexy

We ride back and forth 'til we run out of light
Take it to the barn put it up for the night
Climb up in the loft sit and talk with the radio on
She said she's got a dream and I asked what it is
She wants a little farm and a yard full of kids
And one more teeny weeny ride before I take her home

 She thinks my tractor's sexy
 It really turns her on
 She's always starin' at me
 While I'm chuggin' along
She likes the way it's pullin' while we're tillin' up the land
She's even kinda crazy 'bout my farmer's tan
She's the only one who really understands what gets me
 She thinks my tractor's sexy]

(Well) she ain't into cars (or) pickup trucks
But if it runs like a Deere man her eyes light up

She thinks my tractor she thinks my tractor's sexy
It really turns her on
She's always starin' at me
While I'm chuggin' along
She likes the way it's pullin' while we're tillin' up the land

She's the only one who really understands what gets me

Song Length: 2:37
Short Length: 2:04
Max Combo: 20
Short Max: 16

[Sometimes it's hard to be a woman
Givin' all your love to just one man
You'll have bad times and he'll have good times
Doin' things that you don't understand
But if you love him you'll forgive him
Even though he's hard to understand
And if you love him oh be proud of him
'Cause after all he's just a man

 Stand by your man
Give him two arms to cling to
And something warm to come to
When nights are cold and lonely
 Stand by your man
And show the world you love him
Keep givin' all the love you can
 Stand by your man]

Stand by your man
And show the world you love him

===============================================================================
Difficulty: 1 (Easy)
Song Length: 3:42
Short Length: 2:11
Max Combo: 30
Short Max: 20

[She was in the backyard say it was a little past nine
When her prince pulled up a white pickup truck
Her folks should've seen it comin' it was only just a matter of time
Plenty old enough and you can't stop love
She stuck a note on the screen door sorry but I got to go
An' that was all she wrote her mamma's heart was broke
That was all she wrote so the story goes

Now her daddy's in the kitchen starin' out the window
Scratchin' and a rackin' his brains
How could eighteen years just up and walk away
Our little pony tailed girl grow'd up to be a woman
Now she's gone in the blink of an eye
She left the suds in the bucket and the clothes hangin' out on the line

Now don't you wonder what the preacher's gonna preach about Sunday mornin'
Nothin' quite like this has happened here before
Well he must have been a looker a smooth talkin' son of a gun
For such a grounded girl to just up and run
Course you can't fence time and you can't stop love

Now all the biddies in the beauty shop gossip goin' non stop
 Sippin' on pink lemonade
How could eighteen years just up and walk away
Our little pony tailed girl grown up to be a woman
Now she's gone in the blink of an eye
She left the suds in the bucket and the clothes hangin' out on the line
(Yee hoo)]

She's got her pretty little bare feet hangin' out the window
And they're headed up to Vegas tonight
How could eighteen years just up and walk away
Our little pony tailed girl grow'd up to be a woman
Now she's gone in the blink of an eye
She left the suds in the bucket and the clothes hangin' out on the line
She left the suds in the bucket and the clothes hangin' out on the line

She was in the backyard say it was a little past nine
When her prince pulled up a white pickup truck
Plenty old enough and you can't stop love
No you can't fence time and you can't stop
Love (ooh)

===============================================================================
Difficulty: 2 (Medium)
Song Length: 3:40
Short Length: 2:05
Max Combo: 46
Short Max: 29

[Becky was a beauty from south Alabama
Her daddy had a heart like a nine pound hammer
Think he even did a little time in the slammer what was I thinkin'
She snuck out one night and met me by the front gate
Her daddy came out a waving that twelve gauge
We tore out the drive he peppered my tailgate what was I thinkin'

Oh I knew there'd be hell to pay
But that crossed my mind a little too late
'Cause I was thinkin' 'bout a little white tank top
Sittin' right there in the middle by me
I was thinkin' 'bout a long kiss man
Just gotta get goin' where the night might lead
I know what I was feelin'
 But what was I thinkin'
 What was I thinkin'

By the county line the cops were nippin' on our heels
Pulled off the road and kicked in four wheels
Shut off the lights and tore through a corn field what was I thinkin'
Out the other side she was hollerin' faster
Took the dirt road had the radio blastin'
Hit the honky tonk for a little close dancin' what was I thinkin'

Oh I knew there'd be hell to pay
But that crossed my mind a little too late
'Cause I was thinkin' 'bout a little white tank top
Sittin' right there in the middle by me
I was thinkin' 'bout a long kiss man
Just gotta get goin' where the night might lead
I know what I was feelin'
 But what was I thinkin']

When the mountain of a man with a born to kill tattoo
Tried to cut in I knocked out his front tooth
We ran outside hood slidin' like Bo Duke what was I thinkin'
I finally got her home at a half past too late
Her daddy's in a lawn chair sittin' on the driveway
Put it in park as he started my way what was I thinkin'
Oh what was I thinkin' oh what was I thinkin'

And she gave a come and get me grin
And like a bullet we were gone again
'Cause I was thinkin' 'bout a little white tank top
Sittin' right there in the middle by me
I was thinkin' 'bout a long kiss
Just gotta get goin' where the night might lead
I know what I was feelin'
Yeah I know what I was feelin'
But what was I thinkin'
What was I thinkin'

[Sun tanned toes ticklin' the sand
Cold drink chillin' in my right hand
Watchin' you sleep in the evenin' light
Restin' up for a long long night

'Cause when the sun goes down we'll be groovin'
When the sun goes down we'll be feelin' all right
When the sun sinks down over the water
Everything gets hotter when the sun goes down yeah

All day long just takin' it easy
Layin' in a hammock where it's nice and breezy
And sleepin' off the night before
'Cause when the sun goes down we'll be back for more

When the sun goes down we'll be groovin'
When the sun goes down we'll be feelin' all right
When the sun sinks down over the water
Everything gets hotter when the sun goes down

This old guitar and my dark sunglasses
This sweet concoction is smooth as molasses
Nothin' to do (but) breathe all day
Until the big moon rises and it's time to play

When the sun goes down we'll be groovin'
When the sun goes down we'll be feelin' all right
When the sun sinks down over the water

When the sun goes down we'll be groovin'
When the sun goes down be feelin' all right
When the sun sinks down over the water
She thinks Kracker's sexy when the sun goes down

Hmm hmm hmm we'll be feelin' all right
When the sun sinks down over the water
Uncle Kenny's hotter when the sun goes down

When the sun goes down (aw) we'll be groovin'

Short Length: 2:08
Max Combo: 31
Short Max: 20

[Who doesn't know what I'm talking about
Who's a never left home who's never struck out
To find a dream and a life of their own
A place in the clouds a foundation of stone
Many precede and many will follow
A young gir's dreams no longer hollow
It takes the shape of a place out a West
But a what it holds for her she hasn't yet guessed

 She needs wide open spaces
Room to make her big mistakes
 She needs new faces
 She knows the highest stakes

She travelled this road as a child
Wide eyed and grinning she never tired
But now she won't be coming back with the rest
If these are life's lessons she'll take this test

 She needs wide open spaces
Room to make her big mistakes
 She needs new faces
She knows the highest stakes she knows the highest stakes]

An' as her folks drive away her dad yells check the oil
Mom stares out the window and says I'm a leaving my girl
She said it didn't seem like a that long ago
When she stood there and let her own folks know

She needed wide open spaces
Room to make her big mistakes
She needs new faces
She knows the highest stakes she knows the highest stakes
She knows the highest stakes
She knows the highest stakes
She knows the highest stakes

Note that the short song breaks I have inserted follow the same breaks as in
the solo versions of the songs. This is because the duet short songs show
the same song length as the solos, so it stands to reason that the sections
are the same as well. If anyone plays a song and it is different than what
is marked off in this section, please let me know so I can fix it.

1. Does He Love You [Reba McEntire & Linda Davis]
===============================================================================
-------------
|FEMALE LEAD|
-------------
[But you're the one he rushes home to
You're the one he gave his name to
I never see his face in the early morning light
You have his mornings his daytimes and sometimes I have his nights

But does he love you like he loves me
Does he think of you when he's holdin' me
And does he whisper all his fantasies
Does he love you like he's been lovin' me

And when I'm in his arms oh he swears there's no one else
Is he deceiving me or am I deceiving myself

But does he love you like he loves me
Does he think of you when he's holdin' me
And does he whisper all his fantasies
Does he love you like he's been lovin' me]

Oh shouldn't I lose my temper
'Cause I have everything to lose

***KEY CHANGE***

Oh does he love you like he loves me
Does he think of you when he's holdin' me
And does he whisper all his fantasies
Does he love you like he's been lovin' me
Oh does he love you

-------------------
|FEMALE BACKGROUND|
-------------------
[I've known about you for a while now
When he leaves me he wears a smile now
As soon as he's away from me
In your arms is where he wants to be

Does he love you like he loves me
Does he think of you when he's holdin' me
Does he whisper all his fantasies
Does he love you he's been lovin' me

But when he's with me he says he needs me
And that he wants me that he believes in me
 Am I deceiving myself

Does he love you like he loves me
Does he think of you when he's holdin' me
Does he whisper all his fantasies
Does he love you he's been lovin' me]

Well we should not be ashamed
And I I have nothing to gain

4. It's Five O'Clock Somewhere [Alan Jackson & Jimmy Buffett]
===============================================================================
-----------
|MALE LEAD|
-----------
Sun is hot and that old clock is movin' slow an' so am I
Work day passes like molasses in winter time but it's Ju(ly)

 What would Jimmy Buffett do
 (Heh heh heh heh heh)

Pour me somethin' tall and strong
Make it a hurricane before I go insane
It's only half past twelve but I don't care
 (He don't care) and I don't care it's five o'clock somewhere]

[Yeah yea yeah um hmm
Dancin' in the dark middle of the night
Takin' your heart and holding it tight
 Emotional touch touching my skin
And asking you to do what you've been doin' all over again

Oh it's a beautiful thing don't think I can keep it all in
I just gotta let you know what it is that a won't let me go
It's your love it just does something to me
It sends a shock right through me I can't get enough
And if you wonder about the spell I'm under
 Oh it's your love

Better than I was more than I am
And all of this happened by taking your hand
And who I am now is who I wanted to be
And now that we're together I'm stronger than ever I'm happy and free

Oh it's a beautiful thing don't think I can keep it all in
An' if you asked me why I've changed all I gota do is say your sweet name

6. Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys
   [Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson]
===============================================================================
-----------
|MALE LEAD|
-----------
[Cowboys ain't easy to love and they're harder to hold
They'd rather give you a song than^ diamonds or gold
Mammas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys
Don't let 'em pick guitars and drive them old trucks
Let 'em be doctors and lawyers and such
Mammas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys
'Cause they'll never stay home and they're always alone
 Even with someone they love

 ***KEY CHANGE***

Little warm puppies and children and girls of the night
Them that don't know him won't like him and them that do
Sometimes won't know how to take him

Mammas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys
Don't let 'em pick guitars and drive them old trucks
Let 'em be doctors and lawyers and such
Mammas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys
'Cause they'll never stay home and they're always alone
 Even with someone they love]

Let 'em be doctors and lawyers and such

[Lonestar belt buckles and old faded Levi's
And each night begins a new day
If you don't understand him and he don't die young
 He'll probably just ride away

Mammas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys
Don't let 'em pick guitars and drive them old trucks
Let 'em be doctors and lawyers and such
Mammas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys
'Cause they'll never stay home and they're always alone
 Even with someone they love

 ***KEY CHANGE***

Cowboys like smokey old pool rooms and clear mountain mornings
Them that don't know him won't like him and them that do
Sometimes won't know how to take him
He ain't wrong he's just different but his pride won't let him
Do things to make you think he's right

Mammas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys
Don't let 'em pick guitars and drive them old trucks
Let 'em be doctors and lawyers and such
Mammas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys
'Cause they'll never stay home and they're always alone
 Even with someone they love]

7. When The Sun Goes Down [Kenny Chesney & Uncle Kracker]
===============================================================================
-----------
|MALE LEAD|

[Sun tanned toes ticklin' the sand
Cold drink chillin' in my right hand
Watchin' you sleep in the evenin' light
Restin' up for a long long night

'Cause when the sun goes down we'll be groovin'
When the sun goes down we'll be feelin' all right
When the sun sinks down over the water
Everything gets hotter when the sun goes down yeah

When the sun goes down we'll be groovin'
When the sun goes down we'll be feelin' all right
When the sun sinks down over the water
Everything gets hotter when the sun goes down

This old guitar and my dark sunglasses
Nothin' to do (but) breathe all day
Until the big moon rises and it's time to play

When the sun goes down we'll be groovin'
When the sun goes down we'll be feelin' all right
When the sun sinks down over the water
Everything gets hotter when the sun goes down

When the sun goes down we'll be groovin'
When the sun goes down we'll be feelin' all right
When the sun sinks down over the water
Everything gets hotter when the sun goes down yeah]

When the sun goes down we'll be groovin'
When the sun goes (down) we'll be feelin' all right
Everything gets hotter when the sun goes down

When the sun goes down we'll be groovin'

Hmm hmm hmm we'll be feelin' all right

Over the water
Everything gets hotter when the sun goes down yeah

And sleepin' off the night before
'Cause when the sun goes down we'll be back for more

Sun goes down we'll be groovin'
When the sun goes down feelin' all right
When the sun sinks down over the water
Everything gets hotter when the sun goes down

This sweet concoction is smooth as molasses

Sun goes down we'll be groovin'
When the sun goes down feelin' all right
 When the sun sinks down
Everything gets hotter when the sun goes down

Sun goes down we'll be groovin'
When the sun goes down feelin' all right
 When the sun sinks down
Everything gets hotter when the sun goes down yeah]

When the sun sinks down over the water
Everything gets hotter when the sun goes down

When the sun goes down be feelin' all right
When the sun sinks down over the water
She thinks Kracker's sexy when the sun goes down

When the sun sinks down over the water
Uncle Kenny's hotter when the sun goes down

When the sun goes down (aw) we'll be groovin'
When the sun goes down hey Uncle Kenny

The following charts will allow you to see if you are on your way to getting a
perfect score of 50000 points. This version will only include the scores you
will get for phrases should you be on your way to a perfect score. For a
complete list of the score leading up to the end, phrase by phrase, with a
cumulative total as each phrase's score is added, you can see the Excel
spreadsheets I created to help me with these charts at the following URL's:

Full Songs: http://www.karaokerevolution.net/combos.xls
Short Songs: http://www.karaokerevolution.net/combos2.xls

Some of the numbers do not correspond to any max combos for songs in this game.
That's because I also used songs from Vol. 3 and Party to fill in the chart.
The scoring algorithm for Vol. 3, Party and Country are all the same, so the
same chart can be used in all 3. I am going to play through some medleys to try
filling out the rest of the chart, but that won't be here until a later update.

================================================================================

This section is meant to give you strategies to keep in mind while singing the
songs to help you aim for a high score. The first and most general strategy
is to PRACTICE! Nothing can beat practice, so keep singing a song until you
master it to your satisfaction. Here are some other general strategies:

Sing in your register - If a song is too high for you, sing it an octave lower
and if it's too low then sing higher. The game automatically corrects for
the octave and you won't be penalized. All you have to match is the pitch.
Learn the song - Listen to a song a few times to get it in your head. Once
you can sing it to yourself, try it out on the game.
Sing at your level - If you're a new singer, or if you aren't very confident
in your talents, start on Easy mode. After you begin getting very high or
even perfect scores in Easy, move to Medium, and so on. Practicing on the
lower levels can help you master the songs just like listening.
Get help - If you're still having trouble, find a friend or family member
that's also a good singer. Have him/her sing with you or teach you any
tricks they know. Singing with someone else is a great way to unleash your
  inner voice.
Learn the rhythms and repeats - If a song has a certain rhythm throughout,
follow it and use it to your advantage while singing. Similarly, if a song
has a certain phrase repeated a number of times, such as the chorus, learn
that part. Once you have that one section mastered, you may have learned
half the song or more! Then just fill in the rest of the song and you're
  on your way!
Don't sing the words - If a particular song or section is giving you a lot
of trouble, try humming the notes or singing on "Ooh" until you get it
down, then add in the words later.

For the rest of the strategies I'm going to split them up into three sections,
one for each difficulty of song, and then I'm going to split them up further,
sometimes to the different songs.

Specific strategies for songs - COMING SOON! Probably in the next update.

|| 5. Multiplayer Modes (One Mic Party) ||
================================================================================

Much of this information is taken from my KR3 FAQ. If any of it is incorrect,
please email me and I will fix any errors.

===========
|A. Arcade| 2-8 Players
===========
The multiplayer Arcade mode is very similar to the single player Quickplay
mode; however, instead of singing by yourself to achieve the best score you
can, the object in the multiplayer mode is to outscore your opponents by
singing your song better than your opponents. The screen layout is also
identical when you're singing the song and just after you complete it. After
you see the last player's statistics, a screen will come up that shows each
player's ranking or score (square to toggle) for that song and their overall
ranking. The biggest difference between Arcade and Quickplay is that there is
a set number of rounds, from 1 to 5, that can be played to determine the
champion.

===========
|B. Medley| 2-8 Players
===========
The Multiplayer Medley mode works very much like the single player mode. You
must choose the number of players, how many songs are in each medley, how many
rounds to play, and which (if any) rounds are to be random. The difficulty
of each song is displayed in the bottom right corner of the selection screen.
After all players have made their selections, the round begins. Scoring is
the same as in the single player round, but instead of standing alone the
scores are compared. After each round a screen will appear with each player's
score or round standings (push Square to toggle) and overall standing.

=================
|C. KR Challenge| 2-8 Players
=================

KR Challenge combines everything in KR into one package. Compete in 2-5
events aimed at determining the ultimate KR champion. Available options
include random songs, minigames, and "advanced events" that turn off lyrics,
note bars, make you sing random and unannounced songs, and throw other
twists into the mix. The KR challenge is a great party option and can make
your KR experience better than ever!

================================================================================
|| 6. Multiplayer Modes (Two Mic Party) ||
================================================================================

==========
|A. Duets|
==========
Duets are songs that are sung cooperatively by two players at the same time.
They are new to Volume 3 and add a new dimension to gameplay. The duet is
scored similar to the single player modes, but the score is split between
the two parts. There are two types of duets, unison and true duets.

Unison Duets: These songs are solo songs, so both players since the part in
unison. The score for these songs is 25000 per player for a total of 50000.
True Duets: These songs are duet songs, so each player has his or her own
part to sing. The scores are not divided equally between players, so one
player may get a higher score than the other. However, the scores still add
up to 50000.

Duets can be played with one team, cooperative, or multi-team, teams against
each other.

The True Duet songs are:

Does He Love You
Don't Worry 'Bout a Thing
Gone
It's Five O'Clock Somewhere
It's Your Love
Mammas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys
When The Sun Goes Down

See the Song Guide for the breakdown of lyrics in the true duets.

================
|B. Duet Medley|
================
The Duet Medley mode is basically a combination of Duet mode with Medley mode.
You can pick 3-5 songs to sing and a section of each song becomes part of the
medley. Your total score can be up to 50000, though individual scores depend
on whether unison or true duets are chosen, and whether the total number of
phrases for one player is equal to the second. See the single player Medley
section for more information.

==============
|C. Knock Out|
==============
In Knock Out mode, players sing the entire song in unison. There is a bar on
the left side of the screen between the players' scores. If one player scores
better than another on a phrase, the bar will move toward the other player. If
the bar moves completely to one player's side, the game is over and the player
who scored better wins. If the players manage to finish the song, the player
with the higher score wins. If both players have the same score it is a draw.

=====================
|D. Knock Out Medley|
=====================
Knock Out and Medley modes combined. See the Medley section in the single
player modes and the Knock Out section above for more information.

=============
|E. Sing Off|
=============
In this mode, players take turns singing parts of a song's verses then sing
the chorus in unison. The player with the higher score at the end of the song
wins the round. If both players have the same score it is a draw.

=================
|F. KR Challenge|
=================
KR Challenge with two microphones. Same premise as the one mic KR Challenge,
but using two mics allows for sing off and knock out to be thrown into the

=====================
|A. Beach Volleyball| (One and Two Mic Party)
=====================
This game is pretty simple, just match the pitch played by the game to move
your players into position. Miss and the other team gets a point. First side
to 10 wins the game. You can play a one-player version against the computer,
with varying difficulty from easy to expert (just like the song judging) in
the one mic party or a versus game against a friend in the two mic party.
You can pick from a low, mid, or high vocal range for the pitches to match.

====================
|B. Yo! Dude! Rock!| (One and Two Mic Party)
====================
Again, pretty simple. Each word, "Yo," "Dude," and "Rock" is given a different
pitch (C, E flat, and G respectively for those who know music notes) and you
need to sing that pitch when they reach the section of lights on the stage to
send them flying into the crowd. Each person is worth 1000 points and there
are 50-60 people that appear in 60 seconds. You can pick from a low or high
range for the pitches to match. (The pitches are the same, the person just
sounds different for each range. The game itself works just like the songs,
and it will change the octave automatically.)

============
|C. Fanfare| (Two Mic Party ONLY!)
============
This one involves a little more skill and thought because the playes need to
cooperate in order to play. Player 1 controls the on-screen character in the
vertical direction while player 2 controls the horizontal. They must work
together by singing pitches to maneuver the character to the gifts thrown on
stage by the fans. There are at least four stages, and the following gifts
appear in each stage:

Stage 1: Cards
 - - One card appears on stage at a time, and another appears after you get
the first or after a period of time elapses and it disappears.
Stage 2: Cards, Chocolates, Flowers (bouquets)
 - - Multiple gifts appear on stage at once, and more appear as you collect
     gifts or they disappear.
Stage 3: Watches
 - - One watch appears on stage at a time, just like with the cards.
Stage 4: CDs
 - - A bunch of CDs are thrown onto the stage and you have to run around and
collect them all. Once they are all collected, a new bunch will be
     thrown onto the stage.

The gifts are worth the following:
Cards: 500-600 pts
Chocolates: 500-600 pts
Flowers: 500-600 pts
Watches: 350 pts, +3 sec on timer
CDs: 200 pts

You have 60 seconds plus whatever time you get with the watches to get as
many points as possible. You can pick from a low, mid, or high vocal range
for the pitches to match.

|A. High Scores|
================
This section records all the highest scores you have achieved in the songs in
their full length. If you play them in Showtime or Quick Play and Full Song,
your score will be compared to that already in the high score table and if it
is higher, it will become the new high score. Each difficulty has a separate
table for the songs.
