SENGOKU BASARA 2 TITLES GUIDE (c) 2006 by George Naibaho (gory_gantenk@yahoo.com) Version 2.0 Last updated: Sept 6, 2006 ============ INTRODUCTION ============ This guide is for Sengoku Basara 2 only. The english sequel (if it DOES come out) may or may not have the same features, so this guide may be irrelevant for that game. Someone in the SB2 board have listed all the titles, but the order was incorrect (if I'm not mistaken it was shadow780). You may consider this guide as a correction to the order of titles in that thread, although I discovered these titles in my own play. I use the classic (row)-(column) method in listing the titles instead of mentioning their names so everyone can understand them. This also applies for titles that require you to use a certain item in battle. I list the items in the order they appear in your character's pre-battle inventory screen. What are titles? They are the list of specific achievements that you performed in Unification Mode. Things you do in Story Mode will earn you no titles (except one, see below). They appear in the Gallery. Each title is worth points. Getting a certain number of points will unlock a character (Musashi) & a few items. Note that Musashi's stage (the one where you fight him one-on-one on Ganryu Island) DOES NOT count as a battle. For example, the title that requires you to score 500 hits in every battle doesn't require you to score 500 hits against Musashi. Also, you don't even have to survive that fight to achieve most of the titles. Some of the titles can also stack upon each other. For example, by beating Mitsuhide with your Drive Mode Basara move while you're in critical condition, you'll get titles (2)-(1), (2)-(2) and (3)-(2). If no certain difficulty is required by a certain title, then you can achieve it in any difficulty. If you don't know where the Gallery is, it's the second option from the bottom in the Main Menu screen, which is unlocked after you beat Story Mode once. In the Gallery menu, the Titles option is the bottom one. You can also find this FAQ in www.neoseeker.com =========== TITLES LIST =========== I list the titles starting from top left to bottom right. Alright, here we go: Row Column Title Worth Title Description === ====== =========== ================= (1) (1) 10 points Beat Unification mode with any character under Normal difficulty. (1) (2) 15 points Beat Unification mode with any character under Hard difficulty. (1) (3) 20 points Beat Unification mode with any character under Extreme difficulty. (2) (1) 3 points Kill one boss with any character's Basara move. (2) (2) 3 points Finish one battle in critical condition (i.e., your HP is red). (2) (3) 13 points Finish one battle without losing any health. You can do this in any difficulty. Note that if you lose health because of your own skills (such as Nobunaga's final skill), even if no enemies manage to attack you, you still fail. Using Yukimura's personal item also falls under this rule. (3) (1) 10 points Kill all bosses with your character's Basara move. (3) (2) 5 points Kill one boss with Drive Mode Basara move. You need to be in critical condition. (Thanks to The Giant Hoeruo) (3) (3) 50 points Finish Unification mode under Extreme difficulty without saving. You must finish at least one battle without losing any health. This one can be very tough for some characters. I recommend a Lv 50+ Zabi and Mitsuhide for it because they have the invincibility skill. (4) (1) 3 points Kill one boss with a mounted attack (i.e., ride a horse and land the finishing blow). Not all stages have horses in it, by the way. The best stage to do this IMO is the Odawara Castle stage (daytime) because, well, Ujimasa is relatively weak. (4) (2) 5 points Kill one boss with your Taunt. For this one, use Musashi and equip his personal item (item (24)- (5) in your inventory). Watch the massive damage - in Extreme, the spit actually kills Generals in one hit if you have Musashi's final weapon. (4) (3) 1 point Equip item (11)-(5) and finish one battle. (5) (1) 1 point Equip item (13)-(1), (13)-(2) or (13)-(3) and finish one battle. (Thanks to The Giant Hoeruo) (5) (2) 1 point Equip item (13)-(4) and finish one battle. (5) (3) 1 point Equip item (13)-(5) and finish one battle. (6) (1) 1 point Equip item (12)-(1) and finish one battle. (6) (2) 1 point Equip item (11)-(4) and finish one battle. (6) (3) 1 point Equip item (12)-(2) and finish one battle. (thanks to Kuroitatsunoshi) (7) (1) 10 points Beat Unification mode with less than 100 enemies killed. Simply go straight to the boss in each battle for this one. (7) (2) 10 points Beat Unification mode with more than 7000 enemies killed. This one is actually easier to figure out than title (7)-(1) XD (7) (3) 7 points Beat Unification mode and score a combo of 500 hits or more in every battle. (8) (1) 5 points Clear 100 battles or more. Story mode battles also count for this title. (8) (2) 3 points Beat Unification mode without saving under any difficulty. (8) (3) 9 points Beat Unification mode in approximately 30 minutes (I don't know for sure because the title description doesn't say this, actually). (9) (1) 25 points Beat Unification mode with only your first weapon and no other equipments. You may still use any skill. You need to play in Extreme difficulty as well (Thanks to The Giant Hoeruo) (9) (2) 8 points Beat Unification mode in Normal difficulty with your final weapon equipped in every battle. (9) (3) 12 points Obtain 24 treasure chests in one battle. This one is a little tricky. The Odawara Castle stage is actually the only place you can get 24 chests. Equip items (17)-(1) to (17)-(5) which will give you 5 extra treasure chests after you finish the battle. Kill all 9 enemy generals, including Ujimasa. Achieve a combo of 500 hits three times to get three more chests. Look for two more chests laying around somewhere on the map (I forgot the exact location, but for the nighttime version of the stage, they will be in the far corner behind Ujimasa's final position). (10) (1) 3 points Eat 30 or more HP-replenishing items (the Onigiri) in one battle. (10) (2) 3 points Eat 30 or more Energy-replenishing items (the Sake bottles) or the HP & Energy replenishing items (the huge white rice boxes) in one battle. (10) (3) 10 points Obtain a Lv10 treasure from conquered territories. For this title, use characters whose base is on the furthermost edges of the map, such as Motonari, Yoshihiro or Itsuki and always attack only territories directly adjacent to you to give the AI the chance to conquer more territories. You can soft reset (press Start+Select) to change the results of the AI's battles. (11) (1) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Date Masamune. (11) (2) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Sanada Yukimura. (11) (3) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Maeda Keiji. (12) (1) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Toyotomi Hideyoshi. (12) (2) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Oda Nobunaga. (12) (3) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Chousokabe Motochika. (13) (1) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Kasuga. (13) (2) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Mori Ranmaru. (13) (3) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Sarutobi Sasuke. (14) (1) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Matsu. (14) (2) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Takenaka Hanbei. (14) (3) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Akechi Mitsuhide. (15) (1) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Mouri Motonari. (15) (2) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Uesugi Kenshin. (15) (3) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Shimazu Yoshihiro. (16) (1) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Takeda Shingen. (16) (2) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Maeda Toshiie. (16) (3) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Hondam Tadakatsu. (17) (1) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Nouhime. (17) (2) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Zabii/Xavi. (17) (3) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Itsuki. (18) (1) 1 point Beat Unification mode with Miyamoto Musashi. (18) (2) 22 points Beat Unification mode with all 22 playable characters. (18) (3) 5 points Defeat Musashi in any difficulty. ======= REWARDS ======= 50 points - unlocks Miyamoto Musashi. Sadly, he's only playable in Unification, Tournament and Free mode, but he can actually attack anywhere from his base in Unification. 100 points - unlocks item (13)-(3); it changes the BGM to your character's theme music(contributed by The Giant Hoeruo) 150 points - unlocks item (15)-(5); it makes your character's body luminate when that character's personal item chest is near. 300 points - unlocks item (14)-(5); it heals you to full HP at the start of each round in Tournament mode/Daibutokai. ===================== CHARACTER DESCRIPTION (for those new to this game and can't read Japanese) ===================== This guide assumes that you already know who the hell are these guys, but if you can't read Japanese, I describe how each one looks here. Note that the order in this list is random. The attires listed here are the default (first) costumes. Date Masamune - eye patch over right eye, blue armor, speaks Engrish Sanada Yukimura - red armor, has two spears, likes to scream a lot Maeda Keiji - colorful clothes and a huge sword, very handsome Toyotomi Hideyoshi - yellowish hair, gorilla-like, wears red-and-black armor Oda Nobunaga - white armor, thin moustache, devilish laughter Chousokabe Motochika - white hair, eye patch over left eye, upright face Kasuga - sexy blond lady with black spandex-like costume Mori Ranmaru - kid with purple clothes and a bow Sarutobi Sasuke - redhead, wears forest camouflage ninja suit Matsu - lady with spear and green clothes Takenaka Hanbei - thin guy with a purple mask and white hair Akechi Mitsuhide - goth-looking guy with long white hair and two scythes Mouri Motonari - elf-like guy with green clothes, pointed hat and a giant ring Uesugi Kenshin - monk-like, very thin pretty boy in white Shimazu Yoshihiro - mean grandpa with a huge sword Takeda Shingen - steroid-powered muscleman in red-and-yellow clothes, has a huge fan for a weapon Maeda Toshiie - muscleman with a lot of scars and a spear Hondam - what have I got to say? a big brown robot! Nouhime - geisha-like lady in black kimono Zabii/Xavi - fat foreign priest (presumably Spanish) with two cannons Itsuki - short girl with a big hammer Miyamoto Musashi - strange young man with two... err...sticks ======== ENDNOTES ======== Completing Unification with a certain character is, by the way, the only way to unlock that character's alternate costume. This will add a fifth option in the pre-battle setup screen that allows you to change costumes. Most of these alternate attires are nice, but some just suck... That's about all, folks. Please contact me if you have questions ABOUT THE TITLES or if you have info to correct my guide. I don't access my e-mail everyday so please be patient if you have questions. I'm very sorry but I can't answer questions not related to the titles or this guide (I don't have that much time because I'm doing my finals right now). By the way, this will most probably be the final update of this guide. You may want to look up the SB2 board for the answers of your other questions - not all great games get complete guides, sadly. ====== THANKS ====== Capcom, for making an excellent game. GameFAQs, for posting this guide. OneEyedDaimyo, shadow780, The Giant Hoeruo, igniz12000 and all the other seniors on the SB2 board. Special thanks go to The Giant Hoeruo and Kuroitatsunoshi for their corrections to this guide. JosephCain, for giving a different color to the SB2 board. I don't hate you or your opinion...you just have to be less passionate about it. Everyone else on the SB2 board for playing this game. Oda Nobunaga, for never looking ridiculous in any game about the Sengoku Jidai.
