There was an underground organization called Bird of Passage that hid in the shadows of history. They formed contracts with the powerful and sent outassassins to eliminate their enemies. Tira was an assassin raised by this organization. The act of killing has become such a regular routine in her life that she needed to kill on a regular basis for the stimulation it provided. When the Evil Seed rained down, Tira was in the middle of a mission and the chain of command collapsed. Tira was suddenly set free from the underground world. She has since forgotten where she was when the event transpired. For a while, she was taken in by an ordinary family in an ordinary city and lived a quiet life amongst ordinary people. This did not last long, however, and a simple event caused her to murder the entire family. She then began her wandering lifesyle, killing those who crossed her path. Her emotions grew intense to where the slightest trigger could cause her to become depressed or manic. One day, she came across information about Nightmare, and her heart leapt at the thought of finding someone like herself. Following the trail of slaughter, she tracked down the Azure Knight. 'Finaly, someone to whom I can give myself entirely...' Thought Tira. Now a faithful servant of the evil sword, she operates behind the scenes, controlling a flock of ravens. She has been given two missions. Her first task is to destroy the spirit sword and free the evil sword. Her second task is to locate a new host for the cursed sword. Those who meet her approval shall surely have their souls burned by the flame of the cursed sword. There was a warrior woman who had once shattered Soul Edge and later had children. When she shattered the cursed sword, she had taken a fragment of it into her own body. Her children had been born with evil energy infused in their bodies. Tira visited Greece in order to get near those children... Battle Sophitia Tira toyed with the mother of the prospective host bodies for a time before deciding to leave. If they continued to fight, it would surely turn serious. Tira didn't expect to lose, but it would be stupid to take on any unnecessary injuries. This woman had once shattered Soul Edge. It would be best to be careful. Calming her excited body, she moved on to her next objective. Choice: A) Since hosts have been found, hurry the freeing of Soul Edge. B) The Children are still young. Search for other hosts. 02.A) Water Mill Valley: ------------------------ Siegfried was the man who had sealed Soul Edge by piercing it with the spirit sword. Even now, he carried the sword in hiding. In order to free Soul Edge, she had to find him. Tira picked up his trail and left Europe, heading east. He had already left his land. As she traveled, she realized that someone was watching her. ----------------- Battle Fuma-Ninja ----------------- Tira eleminated the annoying spy and once again began following Siegfried, but it seemed he had noticed Tira's presence. His movements were clearly those of someone rying to lose a pursuer. About the time she lost her target's trail. A short while later, a man appeared before her, claiming to know Siegfried's whereabouts... 02.B) Lakeside coliseum: ------------------------ The siblings' bodies were a perfect fit, but unfortunately, they were too young. She couldn't shake the feeling that they wouldn't be able to fully draw out the power of the sword. Tira decided that an interim body was necessary, and continued to wander in search of petential hosts. She traveled to an arena where strong warriors were said to gather and waited until that day's winner was decided. Was this man powerful enough to be worthy of the sword...? ------------- Battle Dragon ------------- What a waste of time. The man had been worthless. Tira left the arena and set her eyes next on those who were wandering the world in search of Soul Edge. Obviously, they wouldn't all be appropriate for the sword, but anyone who was successfully closing in on the sword had at least some potential. Tira waited at Ostrheinsburg Castle. Nightmare, the wielder of the Soul Edge, had once dwelt here. It was the perfect place to test those who were seeking the sword! 03.A) Clock Tower: ------------------ Dialogue with Zasalamel Trap: Input= 6 Fail= Lose 25% Life ---------------- Battle Zasalamel ---------------- Just as she suspected, it had been a trap. Tira tried to corner the man with the scythe and prevent his escape, but he disappeared, leaving only brief words behind. "The man who took the sword has been laying low since he shook you off his trail. He already knows about you. Don't expect things to be easy..." Choice: A) Pursue Siegfried again. B) Follow the man with the scythe. Choice B: Tira remembered the man who had revived, in the form of nightmare, the small amount of evil energy that had escaped the seal. The man with the scythe was surely that man. She traveled from land to land in search of him, but she found no clues at all. It didn't seem he was going to allow himself to be followed that easily. Just who was this man? Tira had a feeling he was planning something. It might be necessary to eliminate him. Choice: A) Don't give up. Conintue searching for the man with the scythe. B) Give up on the man with the scythe and resume searching for Siegfried. 03.B) Ostrheinsburg Castle: --------------------------- Dialogue with Sophitia --------------- Battle Sophitia --------------- Tira: With a mother like her. I feel sorry for the children. The warrior who appeared was the mother of those two children. It seemed the skills that had once enabled her to shattered Soul Edge had not waned, but she was no match for Tira. Tira let loose the impulses which lurked within her and sated herself in battle. She was now bored of playing with the woman. Staying in this place any longer seemed like a waste of time. It was unlikely anyone worthy would appear. Choice: A) Pursue Siegfried in order to release Soul Edge. B) First increase Soul Edge's power. 04.A) Lakeside Coliseum: ------------------------ Tira remembered the man who had revived, in the form of nightmare, the small amount of evil energy that had escaped the seal. The man with the scythe was surely that man. She wondered what he was up to, but right now, finding Siegfried took priority. Tira began gathering information in hopes of reacquiring her target's trail. But he must have been acting very cautiously, for she could find no sign of him. Searching for Siegfried, Tira continued her journey. She discovered her target had shown interest in a hidden arena. The clues made it clear that that was where he was headed. Tira raced through the night in the hopes of arriving before him. When she arrived at the arena, she hid and waited for Siegfried, but soon found herself unable to resist her desire for the souls of the strong warriors that gathered here. ----------- Battle Rock ----------- Tira felt like she was being watched. Choice: A) Stop. B) Hurry on ahead. 04.B) Old Toledo: ----------------- She had felt impressive power from his soul. She would need to harvest it at some point. Devouring that soul would surely bring great strength to her master, Soul Edge. Tira devoted herself to finding the man's trail and followed after him. In order to free Soul Edge, she had to find him. While Tira was searching for him, she learned that her target had apparently taken interest in the tomb of a wealthy merchant. The clues made it clear that that was where he was headed. Tira raced through the night in the hopes of arriving before him. ----- Thief ----- ----- Thief ----- ----- Voldo ----- Tira felt she was being watched. Choice: A) Stop. B) Hurry on ahead. 04.D) Valantine Mansion: ------------------------ In order to release Soul Edge, the sword first needed to grow in power. It was weak from its struggles with the spirit sword. The best souls to increase Soul Edge's power were those that were connected to it. Tira set her sights on a woman who carried the sword's blood in her veins. Tira went on the mansion in which her target lurked and snuck inside. ---------- Battle Ivy ---------- Tira successfully obtained the soul and conintued hunting for more. She harvested several more souls before finally beginning the task of freeing Soul Edge. Siegfried was the man who had sealed Soul Edge by piercing it with the spirit sword. Even now, he carried the sword in hiding. She defeated a guard she encountered, but in the end, she did not find the man, By the time the sun rose and the falmes had doused, Tira was already gone. Tira resumed her search for Siegfried. She grew certain that he was no longer in Europe, and she headed east, seeking rumors from across the world. Upon hearing of a black giant who was rampaging in Persia, she suspected evil energy and headed for that land. If she caused too great a commotion, her target might decide not to come here. And in fact, he did not appear. Tira resumed gathering rumors and learned that someone steeped in evil energy was causing chaos in a land in eastern europe. As a servant of the cursed sword, she decided to investigate. Dialogue with Raphael Trap: Input= 4G Fail= Poison ------------------- Battle with Raphael ------------------- The man who ruled that land had been a man draped in faint evil energy. The price of his arrogance had been swift by wings of black. After taking the man's soul, Tira resumed her search for Siegfried. It had been some time since she had lost his trail, but she had to find him. Tira remembered the man she had previously provoked into looking for Siegfried. Perhaps he had found something by now. Choice: A) Visit that man. B) Continue searching on her own. (06.C) Lotus Garden: -------------------- Aftewards, she continued to hear rumors of the man with the scythe everywhere she went. It seemed he was appearing before anyone who sought Soul Edge. What was his objective...? If the man's objective was related to Soul Edge, then for now, she could just pursue Siegfried. The man with the scythe would eventually make contact with her on his own. Eventually, Tire learned that the great empire to the east was searching for Soul Edge. If Siegfried had heard the same rumor, then he would surely appear there. -------------------- Battle with Xianghua -------------------- This country was closer to reaching Soul Edge than she had thought. She couldn't allow anything to interfere with the sword's revival now. Tira destroyed the information. After waiting for a while with no sign of Siegfried, she put that land behind her. Tira traveled the world, continueing her search for Siegfried. One day, a certain rumor caught her attention. There was a man who boasted that he could destroy Soul Edge. Choice: A) Ignore the absurd rumor. B) Search for the man in question. 06.G) Silk Road Run: -------------------- As she headed east along the Silk Road, rumors of a bizarre, lizard-like warrior increased. It was undoubtedly one of the monsetrs that Nightmare, the wielder of Soul Edge, had once commanded. It seemed she had wound up following its trail. Those monsters were also the vanguard soldiers of a heretical cult that sought Soul Edge. What where they scheming now...? --------------------- Battle with Lizardman --------------------- These monsters usually operated in packs, but there were no sign of any others. It seemed this one had been serperated from its pack. Or perhaps it had received orders to act alone. When Tira searched its body, she was surprised to find that it had a fragment of Soul Edge and some notes. This was the first time she'd heard of them having that much intelligence. The memo contained the information it had gathered on its journey. 06.H) Proving Grounds: ---------------------- Tira remembered the man who had revived, in the form of Nightmare, the small amount of evil energy that had escaped the seal. The man with the scythe was surely that man. She had felt impressive power from his soul. She would need to harvest it at some point. Devouring that soul would surely bring great strength to her master, Soul Edge. Traveling through Europe, Tira confirmed that Siegfried had already left his land. Upon obtaining information that someone resembling him had left for the east, she set out east, in pursuit if his trail. After a while, she heard a rumor of a young man who was purifying tainted lands whereever he went. Someone who was purging evil energy wherever he found it was a danger to her master! ------------ Battle Kilik ------------ Tira entered the mountains where the young man was said to live and defeated him after a fierce battle. He had Soul Edge's evil energy in his body, but he was so skilled he was able to suppress is. If she let him be, he would surely become a threat to the sword at some point. It was her duty to eliminate dangers of this nature. This soul, with its evil energy, would surely make a good sacrifice to Soul Edge. 07.A) Pirate Raid: ------------------ Tira travled west. In that direction, a man wandered upon the ocean, desperately seraching got the Soul Edge. It seemed he thought he had escaped the sword's control, but without the cursed sword's power, his body would turn to ash. His very existence depended upon the sword. Tira had previously provoked him into searching for Soul Edge. She had thought that the information he would collect would prove usefull later. And now, that time had come! ---------------- Battle Cervantes ---------------- The man had indeed gathered information for the purpose of recovering Soul Edge. His attitude was unforgivable, but his information proved useful. It had been a good time to check his progress. 07.D) Grand Labyrinth: ---------------------- Just in case, she had to make sure that the man's boasts did not come true. But when she arrived in that land, she learned that the man had holed up in the ruins of a giant labyrinth for some time. In order to eliminate this potential threat, she entered the ruin without hesitation. She didn't know if it was from the labyrinth itself or from the person inside it, but the presence permeating the inside of the labyrinth was not that of any ordinary human being. Perhaps this man really did possess great power! ---------------------- Battle with Yoshimitsu ---------------------- The man she had encountered seemed to have had some sort of grudge against Tira, but she had no memory of him. Of course, Tira had killed a great many people, and she did not remember all of them. Tira continued through the labyrinth, but no matter how far she went, she felt no sign of its end. She began to feel she might even be going in circles... Choice: A) Head for the exit. B) Proceed further in. 07.H) Indian Port: ------------------ Afterwards, she continued drifting from land to land in her efforts to capture Siegfried, but she found no sign of him. It was very likely that he had noticed his pursuer. One day, Tira realized that she too, was being followed by someone. It was probably a relative of someone she had previously killed, or something of that nature. She wasn't afraid, but interference at this point would be annoying. In order to shake off her pursuer, she headed for a port city where the paths of east and west met. ----------- Battle Maxi ----------- It seemed the man had judged Tira to be an enemy because of her evil energy. He too, may have been one who was seeking to destroy Soul Edge. But it no longer mattered. He had already been eliminated. Tira remembered that she had entered this city to throw off her pursuer, and she quickly disappeared into the crowds. No matter how skilled the person following her was, there was no way they could pick up her trail now... 08.A) Jyurakudai Villa: ----------------------- Tira found clues related to Siegfried in the information she had obtained and set out at once to follow the trail. It seemed he was heading east. When she entered an island country in the Far East, she attempted to close the gap with her target, but when she felt eyes upon her,she stopped. She decided to take care of her bothersome pursuer first. ------------------- Battle with Setsuka ------------------- 08.B) Underground Sanctum: -------------------------- Tira continued her search and finally succeeded in locating her pray. He was heading even further east, probably following rumors of the organization in the Far East that was collecting fragments of Soul Edge. When Tira entered Japan, she quickly closed the distance between them and arrived at a temple full of twisted energy. He couldn't have gone far yet. She moved to follow him, but stopped upon sensing evil energy.    As she proceeded further in, the air grew thicker. For a while now,
she had been feeling as if there were someone there ahead of her, but
perhaps the atmosphere of the labyrinth was interfering, for she could
not sense any more details.
   Deciding that the one ahead of her was probably the boastful warrior,
she charged forward to close the distance and take his life!

   The enemy had been reasonably strong, but had apparently not been the
great warrior she sought. Tira continued to wander the labyrinth.
   Just how deep was this labyrinth? She wasn't even sure if she was 
headed for the center anymore. But there was nothing to do now but keep

   Tira continued her search and finally succeeded in locating her prey.
It seemed he was heading even further east. He was probably following
rumors of the organization in the Far East that was collecting fragments
of Soul Edge. When Tira entered Japan, she was caught up in an armed
conflict.
   He must have set this up to shake her from his trail. At first, she
was angry at his trickery, but soon lost herself in the joy of the
battlefield...

   Tira defeated the woman, but she could still fell the presence of a
pursuer. Apparently, it hadn't been this woman. On top of that, the time 
she had spent had resulted in her losing Siegfried. Tira ser out once
more in search of her target and headed west.
   During her pursuit, she heard rumors of a man who was searching for
Soul Edge. She didn't want any more intereference. She must eliminate him
first!

in thick evil energy. When Tira picked it up, she immediately fell in 
love with it. It would be a wonderful sacrifice for the night Soul Edge
was revived.
   Tira left the temple with her plunder in hand and once again probed
for Siegfried's presence.


09.G) Lost Cathedral:

   In the end, Tira failed to defeat the man and had to retreat from the
labyrinth. At the very least, she had to exterminate Siegfried. She raced
to find him.
   She soon deteced the presence she sought and steadily closed in on
Siegfried. The time to release the cursed sword was at hand. It seemed he
had stopped in an uninhabited area. Perhaps he was trying to minimize the
damage to others that their battle would cause.
   Suddenly, Siegfried's presence vanished. What had happened...?

   Afterwards, she continued to pursue Siegfried and eventually arrived
at a cathedral in an area far from civilization. Her target was here...
and so was Soul Edge!
   When she entered the cathedral, she sensed that the Azure Knight, the
being who contained the will of her master Soul Edge, had come here as
well. The time for her master to arise was at hand!
   But the pair of eyes that had followed Tira now had her firmly in view...
