I have played DW3, DW3Xtreme, DW4, DW4Xtreme, and now DW5. In my opinion, DW5 has made some very significant advances from the previous games and has become the best in the series. I got the game the first day I could, and everything in the below text is from my experience in the U.S. version of the game. This FAQ contains my experience playing Dynasty Warriors 5 as Zhou Tai. Among things I’ll cover in this FAQ are his move set, weapon info (including lvl 4 weapon information), musou mode stages, and models. ====================================================== 2-Why Should I use Zhou Tai? ====================================================== Zhou Tai is a strong, quick on the ground, fairly quick attacking, good all-around character. He is great on the ground and on a horse. For a sword-user he has good crowd control. With his final weapon he is one of the three best people in the game on a horse (the others being Ma Chao and Pang De). Also, his musou is one of, if not the best officer killing musou in the game in my opinion. Finally, Zhou Tai is one of, if not the coolest looking/sounding characters in the game. ====================================================== 3-Unlocking ====================================================== Zhou Tai is unlocked by completing any 1 Wu musou mode. ====================================================== 4-Move Set ====================================================== Keys: S = Square button, T = Triangle button, C = Circle button S- An upward slash to the right. SS- A sideways slash to the left. SSS- An upward slash to the right. SSSS- A hop with a downward slash to the right. SSSSS- A downward slash to the left. SSSSSS- A quick lunging slash attack. *Alternate SSSSSS- A sideways slash to the right. *SSSSSSS- A sideways slash to the left. *SSSSSSSS An upward slash to the right. *SSSSSSSSS- A quick lunging slash attack. T- Zhou Tai does a quick two hit lunging slash attack from left to right then right to left. This move stuns. ST- Zhou Tai uses the butt of his sheath to send the enemies into the air. SST(T)- Zhuo Tai quickly slashes his enemies up to 10? times and finshes with one final slash. SSST- Zhou Tai does a hard slash while taking a little step forward. SSSST- Zhou Tai stomps on the ground sending the enemies nearby into the air. SSSSST(T)- Zhou Tai does a hard, stepping jab/stab attack. *Note* If triangle is pressed twice, Zhou Tai charges longer and appears to do more damage as well as going through blocks. --Thanks to Raliem for bringing this to my attention-- Jump attack- A downward slash from left to right. Jump Charge- Zhou Tai does an air jump, followed by a downward slashing combo move. Running attack- Zhuo Tai does an upward slash from left to right. Mounted attack- Similar to Ma Chao and Pang De's mounted attacks, Zhou Tai does 6 downward slashes all to the right of the horse. Mounted charge- Zhou Tai does a quick slash over the head of the horse, attacking those directly in front of him. Mounted Musou- Zhou Tai does repeated downward slashes to the right and finshes with his charge attack. Musou attack- Zhou Tai stands in one place and quickly, repeatedly attacks enemies in front of him, finishing with a quick slash. True Musou attack- Pretty much the same as his Musou attack, except he finishs by sheathing his sword (creating a shockwave around him) followed by a slash to the right. *Note: The alternate S6-S9 are only available if you have a weapon that is at least level 3 with a light blue dot by the weapon title, as well as a full musou gauge. All 4th level weapons are Evo-capable. ====================================================== 5-Weapons ====================================================== Stats-Eastern Sword Base Attack 4 Number of attacks 4 Weight Random Stats-Katana Base Attack 8 Number of attacks 5 Weight Random Stats-Dawn Base Attack 12 Number of attacks 6 Weight Random Stats-Dusk Base Attack 36 Number of attacks 6 Weight Average Musou Charge Lvl 16 Attack Lvl 17 Life Lvl 15 Speed Lvl 15 Musou Lvl 18 Requirements for Obtaining Zhou Tai's 4th Stage- Battle of Yi Ling (Hard Difficulty) Requirement- 1) Defeat Zhao Yun before the fire attack 2) Successfully complete the fire attack Strategy- First of all a horse is recommended if not necessary as Zhou Tai starts on the opposite side of the stage from Zhao Yun. I also recommend you try to quickly dispatch Ma Chao on your way across the stage. He and his subgenerals destroy Sun Shang Xiang if you leave them alone. Other than that, ignore everyone else and take out Zhao Yun. At this point, it is a good idea to kill Shamoke. He can cause Ling Tong and Gan Ning real truble otherwise. Now you should see that Zhu Ran is charging into the Shu camp. He starts the fire attack, so all you have to do is keep him alive untill the fire attack succeeds. At this point, Liu Bei will retreat to the bottom corner through the Stone Sentinel Maze. You should get the "precious item report" at this point. The weapon is in the Stone Sentinel Maze directly south from the entrance. The trickiest part of this is not getting carried away killing people, thereby losing track of time and not killing Zhao Yun fast enough. Overall, not that hard. If your Zhou Tai is resonably strong you can get his weapon without too much difficulty. ====================================================== 6-Musou Mode ====================================================== Zhou Tai has 5 stages in his musou mode, The 5 stages are 1) Battle of the Wu Territory Sun Ce's Forces vs. Allied Forces Strategy- Basically take out all the forts and the generals inside them, finishing the battle by beating Taishi Ci since Liu Yong flees. 2) Battle of Chi Bi Allied Forces vs. Cao Cao's Forces Strategy- Make sure the bridge gets destroyed by Pang Tong, Make sure Zhuge Liang's prayer is successful, and make sure Huang Gai's fire attack succeeds and everything else is easy. 3) The Invasion of Nan Zhong Wu Forces vs. Nanman Forces Strategy- Taking over the neutral attack base to the north might be useful to do at the start of the mission, as later on it provides some defense/ offense against an ambushing Mang Yachang. After that, basically advance southward towards the Nanman camp in the southeast of the map killing officers on the way. When you finally get there Meng Huo charges up the right side of the map and starts attacking Sun Quan. Simply track Meng Huo down from behind and kill him. 4) Battle of Yi LIng Wu Forces vs. Shu Forces Strategy- Head southwards and take out Guan Xing and Ma Chao as they and their subgenerals advance up the right (eastern) side of the map. Then head westward, killing all the generals in front of Liu Bei's fort. You can then advance westward and take out Zhao Yun and Shamoke or you can just advance into the fort and kill Liu Bei. Also having the fire attack succeed here makes things much easier. 5) Battle of Bai Di Castle Wu Forces vs. Shu Forces Strategy- Technically, Zhou Tai should charge along the south edge of the map in order to clear the far southeastern gate... as the story goes. However, it may be of your benefit to first take out Huang Zhong as he and his subgenerals can wreak havok on Sun Quan, especially when Ma Chao mysteriously shows up in your camp area. After defeating at least Huang Zhong take whatever path to the castle you prefer. Beware of the arbelists though as they are everywhere in and around the castle and they will mess your life up if you aren't carefull. ====================================================== 7-Zhou Tai's models ====================================================== Model 1- This model comes with Zhou Tai. He has on dark red/black armor, with a black headband. Has a red/black sash running from his left shoulder down to his right knee. Mostly black and red costume looks pretty cool. Model 2- Zhou Tai unlocks this model when he get's about 6000 points. This model is just his first model with different colors. The dark red armor turn to a lighter red... Don't worry it isn't pink. Still a good outfit, but not much different from his starting costume. Model 3- Zhou Tai unlocks this model when he get about 20000 points. This is his first DW4 model. Basically it is a black and red armor with a red cape, and red feathery shoulders. Model 4- Zhou Tai unlocks this model when he get around 20000 points along with his model 3. This is Zhou Tai's fourth DW4 model. It is similar to his model 3 except that it has silver instead of red, and has an incredibly cool pointed silver mask. ====================================================== 8-Zhou Tai's Encyclopedia Information ====================================================== Born 170 A.D. Died 225 A.D. A Wu officer, Zhou Tai joined Sun Ce with his former comrade, Jiang Qin. Despite a serious injury, he succeeded in rescuing Sun Quan when he was attacked by bandits. At the Battle of Yi Ling, he killed the barbarian general, Sha Moke. ====================================================== 9-Q&A ====================================================== Since this is a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) this section will continue to grow as people send emails containing questions about Zhou Tai. Q: Why can't I get his final weapon? A: Make sure you are playing at Yi ling from the Wu side on hard difficulty. Then check to make sure you are killing Zhao Yun before the fire attack, and stalking Zhu Ran until he completes the fire attack. Q: How many items does Zhou Tai get to carry in this game? A: Zhou Tai like everyone else in the game can carry up to 5 items. Q: What are the best items to use with Zhou Tai? A: Right now I am using a shadow harness, ice orb, tiger amulet , tortoise amulet, horned helm, dragon amulet, and wind scroll. I use thes so that I can use him as an effective mounted fighter. Q: What are the best places to max him out for his 4th weapon? A: Any place with four or five stars is good to level your characters. Also, Normal difficulty seems to give the the same officer drops as Hard difficulty on 4 and 5 star levels, you can therefore easily get +8 attack and defense from Wu Zhang Plains, Chi Bi, and other 5 star stages on Normal difficulty. Q: What happened to Zhou Tai's throw from DW4? That thing was awesome!! A: KOEI got rid of all the throw attacks for DW5. ====================================================== 10-Copyrights/Ownership ====================================================== Do not reproduce this FAQ, sell it, or claim it as your own.
