Copyright ---------------------- ---- Introduction ---- ---------------------- This guide is to inform and guide you about the aspects and details of Zhu Rong. Zhu Rong is a favorite character of mine for many reasons. I was first drawn to her from Dynasty Warriors 3. I admired her fiery personality and the way she seems to boss Meng Huo around. And after using her I found her move set to be quite effective and interesting. I didn't really expect her weapon to be that good, but the way she handles it is very interesting. Although she may be a little difficult to master, once you get the hang of her, she can be a very effective warrior for you. Another thing, she is also the only woman in the Three Kingdoms era to take the field in battle. (Although it is possible that a few other women may have snuck their way on the field, but she is the only known one.) This alone completely annihilates the argument that women should not be in this game because they didn't do anything. Now, each of the other women were important people in this era as well, but in terms of battle, Zhu Rong is the only one that can obliterate that pathetic argument. * To unlock Zhu Rong, you must complete Musou Mode with Meng Huo. ------------------ ---- Zhu Rong ---- ------------------ Zhu Rong was the wife of the Great King of Nanman, Meng Huo. She was said to be a descendent of the Fire Goddess and has mastered throwing knives which were called Flying Swords. Zhuge Liang of Shu led a campaign against Meng Huo and the Nanman tribes in the south. His intent was to win Meng Huo's heart and earn his loyalty. After being captured and released 5 times, and after suffering a defeat with the death of King Duosi, Zhu Rong appeared before her husband laughing. She said, "A man, and such a fool! I, a woman, will fight them for you!" Meng Huo rose and accepted her offer. Lady Zhu Rong then mounted her horse and led several hundred commanders from her clan and its allies to do battle with the Shu forces. Zhu Rong was equipped with a few of her throwing knives, (flying swords) and an eighteen-span spear. She faced the Shu commander, Zhang Yi, who marveled at her presence. After several passes, Zhu Rong turned around and fled, but Zhang Yi pursued her. But then suddenly a Flying Sword came flying through the air and stuck Zhang Yi in the arm. He fell off his horse and was taken captive. As Zhu Rong stood before him, Ma Zhong charged furiously at her, but his horse tripped and he was captured. Zhu Rong ordered the two to be executed, but her husband interceded on the grounds that since Zhuge Liang spared him 5 times it would be wrong to kill his officers. So the two were instead held hostage. Zhu Rong was quite pleased with her victory and they had a celebration that night. The next day, the Nanman forces again engaged the Shu forces. Zhao Yun offered a challenge to Lady Zhu Rong and she gave battle. However, soon Zhao Yun turned and fled. Zhu Rong suspected ambush and did not pursue. The next day, Wei Yan offered battle and like Zhao Yun also turned and fled. Again Zhu Rong refused to pursue. And then the next day, Zhao Yun returned and again fled, but Zhu Rong still did not follow, but now Wei Yan appeared and taunted her. Enraged, she charged after Wei Yan who began to flee again. But suddenly, a rope sprang up and tripped her horse, knocking her onto the ground. Due to this trap by Ma Dai, she was captured and taken as a prisoner. Back at his camp, Zhuge Liang treated her well. He ordered her bonds removed and served her wine. He then offered to exchange Zhu Rong for Zhang Yi and Ma Zhong. Meng Huo accepted, and upon retrieval of his wife he was both joyed and angry. And thus ends the events of Zhu Rong's time on the battlefield. ------------------ ---- Move Set ---- ------------------ Key: S = Square T = Triangle O = Circle X = X S- A horizontal slash to the right. SS- A downward, diagonal slash. SSS- A forward kick. SSSS- A downward, diagoanl slash, followed by a spin. SSSSS- A spinning attack. SSSSSS- A powerful, horizontal slash to the right. T- Zhu Rong holds the ground with arm while spinning around with kicks up to 4 times. ST- Zhu Rong throws her boomerang up. SST- Zhu Rong throws her boomerang forward. SSST- Zhu Rong throws her boomerang and it circles around her a few times. SSSST- Zhu Rong sends a whirlwind up. SSSSST- Zhu Rong sends a bigger, more powerful whirlwind up and hops back. Running Attack (S while running)- Zhu Rong performs a powerful, horizontal slash. Jump Attack (X,S)- Zhu Rong does a downward, spin attack. Jump Charge Attack (X,S,T)- Zhu Rong flips and throws a line of fireballs. Horse Attack (S while mounted)- A series of downward strikes, alternating on each side. Horse Charge Attack (S,T while mounted)- Zhu Rong throws her boomerang, which circles around the horse. Horse Musou Attack (O while mounted and with full Musou Gauge)- Zhu Rong throws her boomerang and it circles around the horse continuously. Musou Attack (O with full Musou Gauge)- Zhu Rong belts out a series of flying swords alternately with each hand, ending with a spin as she throws flying swords in all directions. True Musou Attack (O with full Musou Gauge and Life Meter in red)- Zhu Rong belts out a series of flying swords alternately with each hand, ending with a dash forward while her boomerang circles around her which she ends with a flip forward. If you pick up an evolution weapon, indicated by a blue circle by the weapon name, you will be able to perform 9 attacks instead of 6. However, you need a full Musou Gauge in order to perform them. The first 5 attacks are the same as mentioned above, but the 6th changes. Here are the evolution attacks. SSSSSS- A horizontal slash to the right. SSSSSSS- A downward, diagonal slash. SSSSSSSS- A forward kick. SSSSSSSSS- Zhu Rong throws her boomerang and it circles around her a few times. -------------------- ---- Musou Mode ---- -------------------- Zhu Rong has 4 levels in her Musou Mode. They are as follows. 1. Struggle for Nan Zhong 2. Battle for Nan Zhong 3. The Invasion of Nan Zhong 4. Conquest of Nan Zhong I will give a basic stage layout for each level as well as my recommendation as to how to complete each level. Each of my strategies were done on the Normal difficulty, and there may be variations to how the battle progresses with each battle, but these strategies' purposes will only be to explain a good way to dominate the map by defeating all officers and taking all bases which should net you a hefty sum of points if you also take time to kill enemy soldiers. -------------------------- - Struggle for Nan Zhong - -------------------------- Nanman Forces VS Allied Forces Conditions: Victory: Defeat Wu Tugu, King Duosi, and King Mulu Defeat: Meng Huo is defeated or the main camp is taken -Meng Huo's Forces- -Allied Forces- Meng Huo Wu Tugu Zhu Rong King Duosi Dailai Dongzhu King Mulu Meng You Jinhuan Sanjie Dong Tu Na Ahui Nan Reinforcements- Yong Kai Gao Ding Zhu Bao This is a simple battle. From Zhu Rong's starting position, go straught and take that gate from the enemy. Now, head north. Defeat Jinhuan Sanjie and take the enemy gate. King Duosi will have most likely begun to mobilize his troops, so he will head south into the middle area. Head along the northern path and take the enemy base and the gate near King Duosi's original position. Now, head south into the middle area. Defeat Ahui Nan and Dong Tu Na and take the enemy gate and base. King Duosi should be in this area too now. Defeat him to win his submission. Now head east over to King Mulu. Defeat him as well to earn his submission. Keep going and take the enemy gate by that area and then head north to Wu Tugu. Take the gate by Wu Tugu and then defeat him which will unify Nan Zhong. However, you're not out of the woods yet. Now the governor of Nan Zhong appears with Shu forces and the victory conditions change. Yong Kai should be right in your current position so dispatch of him. Then head west to meet Gao Ding and defeat him as well. Zhu Bao may or may not have begun to advance towards your camp, but either way, head down towards him and eliminate him as well. This completes the stage. ------------------------ - Battle for Nan Zhong - ------------------------ Nanman Forces VS Yellow Turbans Conditions: Victory: Defeat Zhang Jiao Defeat: Meng Huo is defeated or too much respect is lost -Meng Huo's Forces- -Yellow Turbans- Meng Huo Zhang Jiao Zhu Rong Zhang Bao Meng You -Cheng Yuanzhi Wu Tugu Zhang Liang -Jinhuan Sanjie -He Yi King Duosi Bo Zhang King Mulu -Zhang Man Cheng -Dailai Dongzhu Pei Yuan Shao Guan Hai Go north towards Zhang Jiao and he'll summon his phantom army. You can't attack them, but they can attack you. Defeat Zhang Jiao to get rid of them. Also defeat Pei Yuan Shao. Zhang Jiao will reappear in his main camp. Head north and occupy the enemy base. Head further north and defeat Cheng Yuanzhi and Zhang Bao and rescue Wu Tugu. Now head southeast and defeat He Yi and Zhang Liang and rescue King Mulu. Take the two gates in this area and go over and occupy the enemy base. Head northeast and defeat Zhang Man Cheng and Bo Zhang to rescue King Duosi. Zhang Jiao may or may not teleport Guan Hai to the other side of the map, but either way go and defeat him. Take the two gates in Zhang Jiao's camp and then go and defeat Zhang Jiao to complete the level. ----------------------------- - The Invasion of Nan Zhong - ----------------------------- Nanman Forces VS Wu Forces Conditions: Victory: Defeat Sun Quan Defeat: Meng Huo is defeated -Meng Huo's Forces- -Wu Forces- Meng Huo Sun Quan -Meng You -Zhuge Jin Zhu Rong Sun Shang Xiang King Duosi -Pan Zhang Wu Tugu -Ding Feng Lu Meng Reinforcements- -Lu Xun King Mulu Zhou Tai Dailai Dongzhu -Xu Sheng Zhu Ran -Zhu Huan Reinforcements- Gan Ning Jiang Qin Start off by heading to the right and taking the enemy base. Continue through and defeat Zhu Huan. Now head into the middle area. Defeat Xu Sheng. Take the enemy base and head over to Zhou Tai. Take the enemy gate and defeat Zhou Tai. Now head on over to Zhu Ran and defeat him as well. Head towards Lu Xun now. When you encounter him, you get a cutscene between Lu Xun and Zhu Rong. Now, defeat him. Approach the bridge and after a while a cutscene will play where the bridge is destroyed and some Nanman soldiers taunt Wu. Whether or not you lost your base in the western area, go and defeat Pan Zhang and Ding Feng. If you did not lose your base then you'll have to go over it as the gates will probably be closed. There's a little ramp next to the gate. After defeating Pan Zhang and Ding Feng, defeat Sun Shang Xiang. Soon, probably around this time, King Mulu and Dailai Dongzhu will show up as reinforcements. Once you destroy the bridge, which you should have already done, they will charge into the Wu camp. They will use elephants to break the wall east of the Wu main camp. Head north and take the enemy gate and the enemy base. Continue north and take the enemy gate and then head into the Wu camp. Defeat Zhuge Jin and take the enemy base. Now, defeat Lu Meng and take the two gates in the Wu camp. About 13 minutes into the stage, Gan Ning and Jiang Qin will show up to reinforce Wu. Depending on where you are, go and defeat them before you finish off Sun Quan. Once everyone is defeated and everything is taken, defeat Sun Quan. ------------------------- - Conquest of Nan Zhong - ------------------------- Nanman Forces VS Shu Forces Conditions: Victory: Defeat Zhuge Liang Defeat: Meng Huo is defeated -Meng Huo's Forces- -Wu Forces- Meng Huo Zhuge Liang -Meng You -Ma Su Zhu Rong -Zhang Yi Wu Tugu -Wang Ping King Duosi Yue Ying -Liao Hua Reinforcements- -Zhang Bao King Mulu Huang Zhong Dailai Dongzhu -Yan Yan Yang Feng Wei Yan -Ma Dai -Lu Kai Guan Xing Guan Suo Reinforcements- Ma Chao First, navigate through the secret path and head south towards Wei Yan. Defeat Ma Dai and Lu Kai and take the enemy gate. Now, defeat Wei Yan. Go and take the nearby enemy base and head up the continuing path north. Take the enemy gate and the nearby base. Defeat Wang Ping and Zhang Yi. Soon a cutscene will play where Zhuge Liang's exploding barrels appear. To overcome this ploy, defeat the 4 Task Leaders who are stationed in the area at the corners of the nearby base. Head toward the area where Huang Zhong is. Take the enemy gate and defeat Yan Yan. Now defeat Huang Zhong. Defeat Guan Suo and then head north from there and take the enemy gate. Nab the Musou Wine from the barrel while you're there. Soon Dailai Dongzhu and King Mulu will appear as reinforcements. Go through the secret area to get to the mid-northern area faster. Defeat Liao Hua and Zhang Bao. Then defeat Guan Xing and take the nearby enemy base. Yang Feng should soon show up as reinforcements. Defeat Yue Ying and take the enemy gate near her. Ma Chao should then soon appear as enemy reinforcements. Head over to him and defeat him and take the gate fom which he came. Now head back and take the enemy base then continue into the Shu camp. Defeat Ma Su and take the 2 gates within the camp. Now go and eliminate Zhuge Liang. A cutscene will then play where Meng Huo and Zhu Rong run to each other and congratulate themselves. And thus ends the Musou of Zhu Rong. Congratulations! Now enjoy her ending movie, Riding in Luxury. ^_^ ----------------- ---- Weapons ---- ----------------- Zhu Rong uses a boomerang as her weapon. Boomerang --Power- 3 --Attacks- 4 Spitfire --Power- 7 --Attacks- 5 Magma Wheel --Power- 11 --Attacks- 6 Inferno --Power- 34 --Attacks- 6 --Weight- Medium --Charge Attack- 16 --Bow Attack- 15 --Musou- 18 --Musou Charge- 17 --Defense- 15 ----------------- Obtaining Inferno ----------------- You must play as Zhu Rong at "The Invasion of Nan Zhong" stage in either Musou Mode or Free Mode on Hard difficulty. Your main goal is to defeat Jiang Qin and Gan Ning without having destroyed the bridge. The two will show up as reinforcements. Clear out the middle area, but do not destroy the bridge. Stay away from the bridge, it is just below Lu Meng. Just sit tight, until about 17 minutes into the stage where your elephant troops will charge the enemy camp anyways. At this point Gan Ning and Jiang Qin will show up as reinforcements in the west. After their defeat, the Precious Item Box appears on the bridge that shouldn't be destroyed. Bag it and defeat Sun Quan to get the weapon. ---------------- ---- Movies ---- ---------------- This section tells how to unlock the movie during Zhu Rong's Musou Mode. The Movies can be accessed through the Options menu. I shall also give a description of what happens during this movie. -------------- Ending - Other -------------- Zhu Rong - Riding in Luxury - Unlocks once you complete Zhu Rong's Musou Mode. Zhu Rong and Meng Huo are riding on an elephant enjoying the scenery of Nan Zhong. Meng Huo decides he wouldn't give this land up for anything and he is happy enjoying his life together with Zhu Rong. Zhu Rong says war does have its moments, but nothing is better than moments like this. ---------------- ---- Models ---- ---------------- Like all characters, Zhu Rong has alternate models. They are achieved as your character advances in rank and achieves a certain amount of points. Zhu Rong has 4 different models like everyone else. Model 1 This is Zhu Rong's default model. She has long, straight, white hair. She wears a headband with three feathers sticking out. She wears an exotic necklace and a brown bikini outfit with fur attachments. And she wears fur arm guards and leg guards and for her footwear, she wears sandals. Unlocked- Already unlocke by default Model 2 This is the same thing as Zhu Rong's first model, but there are some color variations. Her hair is now brown and her skin is pale. The fur attachments she has are now of a leopard skin design. Unlocked- Once you achieve 6000 points Model 3 This is the same model Zhu Rong had in Dynasty Warriors 4. She has short white hair and a feather crown. She wears a brown bikini like outfit with arm guards and leg guards. And she has a little cape. Unlocked- Once you achieve 20000 points Model 4 This is the same secondary model Zhu Rong had in Dynasty Warriors 4. She has short white hair tied in a ponytail with a hairpin in it. Her skin is brown. She wear a different kind of a bikini like outfit with different kinds of arm guards and leg guards.
