All That Legal Crap ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --------------------- ---1. Introduction--- --------------------- Hello! I am Master of Wu. This Character Guide is the first i have done so far for GameFAQs. You may have noticed I did not put anything about Taishi Ci's history in this guide. I did this because that has nothing to do at all with the game and I want my guide only to be about Dynasty Warriors 4: Extreme Legends. I play this game a lot and did all I could to make this a good guide. Please tell me how you thought it was! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ --------------------------- ---2. Why Use Taishi Ci?--- --------------------------- Taishi Ci is almost as good as Lu Bu. He is actually better than him in a duel. Taishi (or Ci?) has high attack, okay defense and, like I said, REALLY AWESOME dueling powers. His speed is not bad, attacking speed not bad, and he has okay range. Taishi (I know it's the wrong way to say it, but Taishi sounds better) has some really fun moves to use and is a pretty good crowd clearer with them. I'm sure you'll like him once you take some leveling up. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ----------------------------------- ---3. Pros & Cons With Taishi Ci--- ----------------------------------- Pros -Okay Attack speed -Okay running speed -Has cool costumes -Good crowd clearing -AWESOME in a duel -Useful charge attacks -High attack Cons -Kinda low defense -Average life Heh, I've already run out! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------- ---4. Statistics--- ------------------- *This is a starting level Taishi Ci* Rated on a scale of 1 to 5; 5 being excellent, 1 being very poor Attack: 5 It's very high Defense: 2.5 He gets beat up a lot Life: 3 Not really that much Musou: 3 It doesn't last long but it charges quickly. Range: 3.5 It's okay. Equip wind scroll and he will be a lot better. Attacking Speed: 3 It's average Crowd Clearing: 4.5 Taishi is good at this Dueling: 5 It's awesome (Use his SST move a lot)! This is what Taishi was meant for Running Speed: 3 Average Mounted attacks: 3.5 Okay, i guess Bow Attack: Unrated It's the same as everybody else's ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------- ---5. Moves List--- ------------------- Taishi has good crowd clearing moves. A lot of his moves work well in a duel, making him excellent in Arena on challenge mode. He is good on crowds and officers but his musou is more for dueling or taking out an officer and his/her gaurds. ~~~~~ Normal Attacks ~~~~~ Normal attack rank: 4/5 They are good for taking out officers and for dueling. S: Swipe from right to left with right rod SS: Stab with left rod SSS: Spinning diagonal slash with both rods SSSS: Same as SSS SSSSS: I think it's a swipe with the left rod; I'm not that sure. SSSSSS: Stab with both rods; knockback collision Jump Attack (Air+S): Swings outwards with both rods Dash(ing?) Attack (Running+S): Slides forward slashing down with one rod. Fairly good for opening an assault. ~~~~~ Charge Attacks ~~~~~ Air Charge (X+T) Rank: No Rank Taishi flips and brings one rod crashing into the ground, knocking down nearby enemies. Don't use it over a crowd. Useful for knocking people off a horse, killing archers, or to counterattack a grab-type charge move. Charge 1 (T) Rank: 4.5/5 Taishi impales the enemy on one rod, throws them up in the air, then does two slashes at them alternating rods. He finishes by slashing quicker (3 more times I think) and slamming them down into the ground. Man, does this move do damage! You should only use it if the enemy is stunned or distracted or something because you are pretty vulnerable impaling them. When you complete the grabbing part it is really good, though. Enemies surrounding the victim will probably be hit when you are slashing the poor thing you impaled, and the slam into the ground has knockback collision. Yippee! ~~~~~ Charge 2 (ST) Rank: 2/5 Standard juggler move, hits enemy into the air with one rod - sigh. You can do better. Combos allowable if you connect. ~~~~~ Charge 3 (SST-TTTTTTT) Rank: 4.5/5 Taishi Ci's most useful dueling move. He keeps on hitting them over the head (Ow!), alternating rods, while stepping forwards. At the end he spins and slashes diagonally in front of him with one rod, which will stun the enemy if they are still alive. This move is okay for clearing out a crowd but its most useful location is in the dueling arena. If the enemy is stunned it is a good oppurtunity for a charge 1 attack. I love this move! ~~~~~ Charge 4 (SSST) Rank: 5/5 Taishi Ci's best crowd clearing move. He turns quickly and then stabs both his rods into the enemy, sending them flying f-a-r. This also has knockback collision, so anyone in front of you is getting hit. Also, there is no charge time and very little recovery time, so you can do this in a crowd without needing to worry. It is good in a duel if you back the enemy up against the wall. Once they fall back down you can just keep repeating over and over again. One of Taishi's best moves; use it often. ~~~~~ Charge 5 (SSSST-T) Rank: 3/5 Taishi charges up for a little bit, then hits the enemy high up into the air allowing for combos or a follow-up attack by pressing T again. After you do the follow-up you can press yet another T to do an air charge. Pretty good damage but a long charge time so I prefer not to use it. ~~~~~ Charge 6 (SSSSST) Rank: 4/5 Taishi holds his left rod up and sticks the enemy 2 times on his right rod (more if you keep pressing T), spins both rods vertically and turns the ending of the spins into a powerful stab forwards with both rods. This move does major damage to an officer but leaves Taishi's back open when he is stabbing with his right rod. The ending knocks people back even further than his musou or charge 4 and has knockback collision. Use it to seriously damage officers. You must be at level 7 or above to do this move. Use it a lot! ~~~~~ ~~~~~Musou Attacks~~~~~ Musou (C) Rank: 7/10 (for a musou) Taishi goes around stabbing his rods into people, alternating rods, while walking forwards. You can control him with the analog stick. To end it all he does a couple little swipes and then jams both his rods forwards (like his Charge 4), with extra range and knockback collision. This move doesn't really do as much damage as it should and doesn't last long, but, hey, there are much worse musous out there. It charges quickly, though. I prefer this musou in a duel or against officers because it is hard to clear crowds with since he only really stabs a couple people. Use it as often as you can. Battle Cry: "Rrrgh!" True Musou (C + Red Health or Way of Musou) Rank: 8/10 (for a true musou) Practically the same thing as before but with the fire element and more hits at the ending. The extra hits don't really do that much more damage. Battle Cry: "Hold together!" or "Hold your shadow!" I think it's 'hold together' though because 'hold your shadow' doesn't make sense. ;-) Double Musou (C + 2 Player at the same time) Rank: No Rank Same as above with the lightning element added. ~~~~~Mounted Attacks~~~~~ Mounted Normal Attack (Horse+S) Rank: 6/10 Left-right attacks, only use them when you are passing by enemies. Mounted Charge Attack (Horse+T) Rank: 8/10 Here's a better move. Taishi attacks with each rod once on each side of his horse with extended range. There is some charge-up time so you have to time it right to make it good. Good for knocking down officers on the ground. Mounted Musou Attack (Horse+C) Rank: No Rank Fast and powerful left-right attacks until the musou gauge runs out. The horse will stop when you are done. Only use it to get out of a crowd or something because it's not really worth the musou gauge. ~~~~~Other Attacks~~~~~ Taunt (R3): Taishi dashes forward swinging out with both rods, making a red wave wchich breaks the enemie's gaurd. Battle Cry: "Let's have a go, then!" Parry/counterattack: Taishi swings out and behind him with both rods. ~~~~~ Combos: ST+SSSSSTTTT SSSST+SSSSSTTTT SSTTTTTT+SSST Etc. You can combo pretty easily with Taishi. Try him out. ~~~~~ Well, that is his whole moveset. Contact me if I should change anything! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ---------------------------- ---6. Taishi Ci With Orbs--- ---------------------------- My favorite orb with Taishi Ci is vorpal. 1. Vorpal Orb: T, ST, SST, SSST, SSSST, SSSSST all work with vorpal. Taishi becomes a mass murderer with this orb. T will do unbelievable damage to officers. 2. Lightning Orb: T, ST, SST, SSSST, SSSSST work with lightning. Taishi is better at crowd clearing with this orb. 3. Fire Orb: T, ST, SST, SSST, SSSST, and SSSSST work. Almost as good as lightning. 4. Ice Orb: ST, SST, and SSSST work. Not good. 5. Poison Orb: ST, SST, SSSST, and SSSSST work but it still isn't as good as ice. Sigh. 6. Blast (blaze) Orb: SST works- kind of. Who uses this orb? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ----------------------------- ---7. Taishi Ci With Items--- ----------------------------- Okay, Taishi gets 4 items, as normal. Here's what I use: Harness: Shadow Harness Orb: Vorpal Orb 1st Item: Tiger Amulet 2nd Item: Tortoise Amulet 3rd Item: Peacock Urn 4th Item: Dragon Amulet Those Items should do Taishi well. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -------------------------------------- ---8. Taishi Ci's 10th Level Weapon--- -------------------------------------- Weapon: Tiger Slayer Power: +56 How-to: Kill Yu Mi or Chen Heng, having at least 6 troops surviving. This is super easy to get, just keep your troops alive until you kill them. Run around killing everything that gets in your way. Nothing to it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -------------------------------------- ---9. Taishi Ci's 11th Level Weapon--- -------------------------------------- Weapon: Power: +60 (well, duh) Requirements: 1) You must be playing on expert mode 2) You must have his level 10 weapon How to get it: Kill Xue Li and Fan Neng, have 9 or more troops by the time you rescue Hua Xin, Get 12 or more troops, get I think 500 K.O. count. Pretty easy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -------------------- ---10. Strategies--- -------------------- What Taishi Ci is best at: 1-dueling 2-fighting generals 3-crowd clearing Use his SSST for crowd clearing. Taishi really isn't that good of a crowd clearer, he is more a dueler. I got 34 K.O.s with him in Arena. Taishi is one of those horse people. You can just move around doing his mounted T move and get good results, but Ma Chao still is better at that. How to gain weapon experience with Taishi Ci: Stage: Xiao Qiao's Legend How-to: Kill Cao Cao at the very beginning of the legend. As soon as he dies, pick up that sometimes-needed ointment and then go over and kill Xiahou Dun. After Xiahou is down, kill Xu Zhu, Dian Wei, and Cao Ren (I think it is easier to walk around the castle in a circle). By this time, Cao Cao should have appeared for the second time. You want to have all the 4 other generals killed one time by the time you kill Cao Cao for the second time to ensure the four generals will regroup later. Then, it doesn't really matter the order you kill in, just make sure all the 4 not-Cao-Caos have been killed twice by the time Cao Cao appears for the 5th time so you can protect Da Qiao instead of going off killing. When Da Qiao and Xiahou Yuan appear, be sure to stick around Da because you lose if she dies. That's pretty much it to the legend. You go up a whole bunch on this legend (Xiahou Dun, Xu Zhu, Dian Wei, Cao Ren and Xiahou Yuan all give out swords) and can level your rods up high. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ----------------------------------------- ---11. Costumes, Weapons, Voices, Etc.--- ----------------------------------------- Costumes 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Weapons Levels 1-3 Twin Rods Levels 4-6 Spiral Rods Levels 7-9 Wolf Slayer Level 10 Tiger Slayer Level 11 Demon Slayer Voices/Battle Cries Musou: "Rrrgh!" True Musou: "Hold together!" Taunt: "Let's have a go then!" Duel Challenge: Duel Accept: Officer Defeated: "I've taken out an enemy officer!"
