Introduction =============================================================================== Armic is considered on of the more difficult quests to beat but using this guide it will be less of a hassle because I will tell you how to collect all of the items. Armic’s quest is all about collecting items and subquests are not necessary to advance the story. I plan to do a Walkthrough for each character in the same fashion as this one to help people get through the game a lot easier whether they have played the game or are just starting out. Currently I have a Laura Walkthrough and a Kurt Walkthrough, but the Kurt one will get redone later on and I will also be doing a subquest guide. This is also not going to tell you how to organize growth panels, use the system or anything like that. Those can be found using other FAQ’s or the message board. There is going to be no information on doing subquests in this guide since subquests are not necessary in getting to the end of the game. Using this Guide =============================================================================== Through out this guide you will notice crudely drawn maps. The maps aren’t completely accurate but they do show the direction in which you are supposed to go. Occasionally the map will have special symbols and those will be explained in those Sections. Situations like this sometimes Occur on the same level but is usually marked to represent where a stairway ends up. Reading the Adventure Data =========================== At the beginning of each adventure I will tell you the name of the adventure, Info provided by the game and the number of turns. After that is a short description or text explaining what to do for a particular section. Finally below that is the map information telling you the location, condition and monster types that reside in the area. Although a particular adventure may have many types of monsters, not all of the monsters appear in the same area. The condition is the general weather or atmosphere associated with an area. You can check this at any time in the adventure screen by selecting skill and then press the X Button. Conditions in a level can affect the rate at which you learn magic. For example, if you are standing in water then you won’t learn a fire spell as quickly. The same holds true for the type of area as well. If you are in the Jade Forest, the wood type spells increase quickly. Players must master both the skill system and skill growth in order to collect the required rare items, so select him after you’re comfortable with the game. Chapa, Village of Chapas ============================= The game starts in the village of Chapa. The story tells of a drifter who long ago saved the Chapa village in the midst of a drought. The village is now in peril again and the rainmaking ritual must be performed using the spell left on the stone Tablet. Four Chapas have been chosen to gather the items for the rain making ritual. The bravest Chapa Merito, The most popular Chapa Qalesin, the wisest Chapa Spry, and the likeable Chapa Armic. Start by visiting the Inn to get some information. You will meet the masked kid who turns out to be Norff. With Norff accompanying you, you may yet be able to gather the items needed. Once you have collected 7, the adventure is over. You however aren’t interested in herbs but collecting money and increasing the strength of the monsters. As you walk around the Healers Hill, fight as many monsters as possible and use the Road Guide skill at every step. Occasionally you will find bags which usually contain money. There are all sorts of Herbs but the ones you want are red, yellow and blue. After you have those herbs, collect the green ones to finish up the adventure. After the growth panel screen, you will find yourself in the city of Loch Vaan. Loch Vaan, Lakeside City ============================= When you arrive in Loch Vaan, you visit Norff’s master that will be the person to decipher the tablet for the rainmaking ritual. After you leave the Crimson spell shop, Armic shows Norff the list of items. Now that you have the list, you can view it anytime you are in a city by pressing the O button. Visit Selma’s Adventure Lodge and get information. There you will meet the Carrier Nuage who will join you and tell you that carriers never forget where they have found something. The example he gives is that the Spirit Bow is at the Caves of the Undead. Take his advice and do a subquest in the Caves of the Undead. You can do either Scared Knight or Sparkling Waterfall. While you are exploring however; be sure to use the Road Guide skill so that you can find bags on the ground which in most cases contain money. You will need a lot of money so that you can build up your Market Rank later and gain the ability to purchase better items. ============================= 3. This is key because you can advance the story without doing very many subquests. There are times when you will want to fail a subquest on purpose just for the sake of collecting items. Another aspect of item collection that most players don’t realize is that by unequipping your characters that have key items will add to what you have. An example of this is say that you have collected 5 pieces of cotton and you currently have a Bandana equipped that is made of cotton. If you take off the bandana then you will now have six pieces of Cotton. Once you have collected a certain amount of items, the story will advance with Yun deciphering part of the tablet. ************************************ Raise the Market Rank ************************************ Even if you don’t need a particular item, it is best just to buy everything in the shop each time. The more that you buy, the higher your Market Rank will be. A good way to collect money is to take on a subquest and just search for bags of money or treasure chests. With the items that you buy but don’t need, just sell them to get part of your money back. Market Rank is key so make sure that you are able to raise the Market Rank quickly. ************************************ Trading items with the other Chapas ************************************ Throughout the course of Armic’s quest you will occasionally run into one of the other 3 Chapas. They will ask if you have anything to trade. You can trade by simply selecting the item that you want to give and press the X Button and then select the item that you want to receive and press the X Button again. If you want to change the page, press the O Button to see the second page. This is a great idea but remember that they are also looking for items and unless both of you have extra, you won’t be able to make an exchange. You can do your part by just keeping excess of the items on the list that way when you do come across one of these other Chapas, you will be ready to exchange. ************************************ Getting the hard to come by Items ************************************ As most players will come to realize late in the game, they can’t get all of the items on the list because they aren’t for sale and the other Chapas don’t have extra of that item. When I say hard to get, I mean the items on the right column. The best way is to know where to get them and how to make them. The first way is easy but may take some time. That is to raise your Market Rank and buy them in the shop. This however costs money and is not the best way. The other way is to find them in subquests or make them at the Blacksmith. Below is a list of where you can find these items for sure. Glossed Silk – Must be traded or bought at a shop Hydra Skin - Must be traded or bought at a shop Ash - Find it in the Cave of the Undead. You can take on the subquests Sparkling Waterfall or Scared Knight in Loch Vaan. Dragon Scale – Find it in the Underground Cavern near Loch Vaan by taking on the subquest known as Regal Lion’s Treasure. Meteorite - Must be traded or bought at the shop. (Market Rank doesn’t need to be that high to be able to purchase.) Obsidian - You can find this item in the Abandoned Castle subquest that leaves from the town of Zomar. Diamond - Must be traded or bought at a shop Meteoritic Iron – You can trade for this one, buy it or make it at the Blacksmith. To make it you need Meteorite as the base and Scale as the secondary material. If you use Coel. Scale as the secondary material then you will get Meteoritic Iron 100% of the time. Faerie Silver - You can trade or purchase but it’s best to make it at the Blacksmith. Use the Silver Sword that Armic comes with at the start of the game and add one of the jewels (Lazuli, Topaz, Ravenite, Opal, or Carnelian) as the secondary material. I still haven’t found a way to get this 100% so just reset if you don’t get it. Damascus - Trade for it or purchase at a shop but the best way is to make it. To make Damascus you need to use Perfect Steel as the base item and reinforced Mullock as the secondary item. ***************************** Note about Steel and Mullock ***************************** You will know when the steel is perfect because the attack power of the weapon you are making will be one less than normal. To get Mullock reinforced, just combine two pieces of Mullock into a weapon, shield, or accessory. ================================= 4. Getting the Tablet Deciphered ================================= The process of deciphering the tablet is a simple one. First you must talk to Yun at the Crimson Spell Shop and he will find that four special items are needed for the rainmaking ritual. He tells you to pick an element and to come back when he has deciphered what it is. There are 5 elements but only 4 of them need to be deciphered. Never pick water because he won’t decipher that one. Once you have picked an element, the next step is to collect items. Once you have collected enough, a short scene showing Yun in the spell shop will occur. That means he has finished. Talk to him and he will point you in the right direction. After he tells you about the item, he will ask you which one you would like deciphered next. 1st Item – 10 items collected 2nd Item – Must reach the quota for 3 items 3rd Item – Must reach the quota for 10 items 4th Item – Must reach the quota for all 20 items Each time you take on a quest you will obtain a new character. Keep in mind however that in Armic’s quest it is not possible to get all 9 characters. Take a look at the elemental quests and choose the three that have characters that you like. If you are going to get Rebecca from the fire quest then I suggest doing that one third because of the difficulty of the boss at the end. Read the sign and enter the Forest’s Eye. Because of the randomness of this adventure you can find Jupiter’s Anvil right away. Just walk around in the Forest’s Eye or stay in one spot until Pharr gets a bad vibe. When this happens you will have found the Jupiter’s Anvil and the boss. Use them to take him out quick or just take your time using Melee Skills. You should have a lot of Life Points in this battle unless you were incredibly unlucky and didn’t find the him for a while. Pharr is great because she has a spear that already has the Multi Poke ability. Start by using magic with Norff and then either Nuage or Armic with an attck and give Pharr 3 attacks with Multi Poke. I was able to take out 3 Life Points from him on the first turn. After the battle you will have access to the towns of Sadovos and Gadeira and the villages of Serin and Solophero. Rebecca already has a Bestial Armlet equipped with Water Arts and has the spell Bubble Blow. Whenever you come across the walls of fire, select it, select the Bestial Armlet and then select the spell Bubble Blow. The reel will begin to spin and if you land on the green circle then you will put out the fire and be able to safely cross. This isn’t too difficult because the wall of fire is only L10. Later in the Volcano you will step on a bridge marked Br on the map. If you cross over to the other side then the bridge will collapse into the magma. You can’t escape this adventure until you finish so it’s not that big of a deal. If you are looking to obtain extra treasure then I highly suggest unlocking the doors in the Volcano to get to them. Be careful though because you will have to fight a pair of Magma Spirits before the treasure is yours. Places with Magma Spirits are marked with an MS on the map. Now that you are on the lower level, it’s time to get that second piece of
Bomber Ore. Go to Work Monster 2 and search it to receive the Bomber Ore. After
that return to the upper level and destroy the cave-in. If you have a lot of
Life Points still then you may want to stay longer and fight more monsters. If
you feel like it’s starting to get to ugh then just go for the boss which is
past the cave-in.

The Cavern of Murals is a mysterious and deadly place. Throughout the Cave
there are murals on the wall. The Murals are in the shape of Aquans, Beasts,
and Birds. When you examine a mural, it will come to life and attack. Here is a

Strategy

I begin the battle by using either Norff’s or Kong Ming’s magic. By doing this
you can guarantee a combo and deal Life Point damage on the first round. If you
have A weapon with Parry, Deflect or Block, then you are in good shape because
both of Kummi’s attacks can be parried. After the battle you will collect the
Behemoth Chain and you will have access to the towns of Escata, Wanda, Zomar
and Iskandaria.

5. The Flying Island

Once you have collected all of the items on your list, Yun will send you to the
Flying Island to retrieve the last item. The last Item will always be which
ever one that you picked fourth. This is the final adventure for Armic’s quest
so be sure that you have your final team set before choosing this one. You may
also want to create a separate save file for this one in case you wanted to do
any extra powering up.

The last item appears to be on Flying Island, one of the Seven Wonders.

You arrive on Avalon one of the Seven Wonders and now is the time to get the
final elemental item for the rain making ritual. The item is located at the
bottom of an elevator in the center of the Island but first you will need to
pull 3 levers in order to use the elevator to go down. The Island is divided
into four regions and the levers are located in the Northeast, Southeast, and
Southwest quadrants. The best way to get them is to start by going to the
northeast part of the Island and make a circle arriving at the Tetra Force
which is located near the elevator. Once you have pulled all three of the
levers, go to the elevator and take it down to the final boss. Before going
down the elevator, make sure that you can cast magic at the enemy for all of
the elements except water. You can have water but it isn’t necessary for the
fight.

Strategy

First on your agenda is to break that barrier of his. If you don’t break
through the barrier then you won’t be able to damage him. To break it you must
cast a spell at him of a certain element. It can even be a Detect spell.  The
order of the elements is Fire, Metal, Wood, and Earth. Even though you know the
order you must break the barrier one piece at a time. Once the barrier is down
it’s pretty easy to take his Life Points.

6. Optional Characters
=================================
The characters here are optional and the game can be beaten without ever
getting these characters. You however do want them so that you will be strong
when you reach the end of the game.

 Henri
========
Once you have access to the Town of Wanda, Prince Henri will be in the Inn. You
can find him by selecting Information. Henri is an alright character in Armic’s
quest but you will need to give him a stronger weapon as the Blade of Escata
with a power of 11 isn’t going to cut it.

Vearst
========
Vearst can be found in the Zomar Inn. He and his friends entered the Abandoned
Castle but Vearst got scared and ran away. None of his friends returned though.
They were looking for Obsidian Boots in there. Since Obsidian is one of the
items on the list, you should go in there and look for them. You don’t need to
finish the adventure, just find the boots and run out of turns.
