Not to mention a nice looking boarder! Well it is a small start and too late at night for me to continue for now. I will get it ready for public viewing by Tuesday afternoon! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- V.42 03/02/03: I entered the first seven job descriptions. I also started a shop list for the fairy colonies! Well now it is getting very far! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- V.5 It has came to my attention the boards are getting plagued with posts on the ant colony so I am putting a finishing touch on it to make it useful. You can expect may more updates from me on this soon! I finished the Skill Shop, and have put a big hurting on the Ryu shop and started Nina Shop! I also put in the Song list! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- V.52 03/02/03: I keep constantly coming back to this guide with new stuff and more stuff I have to add. I now changed the index because I forgot to before. I added Songs 7-18 to the list. I added a few new weapons and jobs. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- V.8 03/03/03: Whoa! I added a lot. I will either submit it again or this will count as an update! I added 19-48 in the song department. Added a lot of Items in the Shop list for the market! I also added a maps section which features a left side and a right side. Added a job or two as well. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- V1 03/03/03: I added a little. There is nothing incomplete anymore. Everything has something now. It is now ready! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- V1.5 03/05/03 I overhauled a lot of stuff to day. All shop lists are complete. The job list is complete. The song list is complete. Now the map is complete. I fixed some grammar errors. Challenge list is well put through. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- V1.6 03/06/03 I decided to change the ACSII art. I now looks a lot better. Nothing really worth updating on GF. I also added one question in the FAQS section. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- V1.8 03/17/03 I have been very busy lately so that is why there have been few updates (Dang I could kill to have enough free time to change ACSII art for fun). I added a few prizes for the Review Board (all due to Kareemverdun). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- V2 03/23/03 Now all the sections have been filled. With another bit of added help from Kareemverdun keeps this FAQ up. My next update won't be for a long time but I have a few more ideas and will add them as soon as possible. Also IGN wants this guide now! <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>< The Ant Colony: This seems to be a running mini-game in the BOF series. As many who have played the others will have a good grasp on what to do. The Colony now has improved. It starts out the basic same as the others. You help a fairy and they want you to manage their life for them. So then you help them manage their life. To start the mini-game after Ryu becomes aware of his dragon abilities you go to a lab complex. You come to a door where there is a warning! Just say open the door. You walk in to find a fairy. She then takes you to her home. Now you control the colony. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>< FAQ: Q: Should I save my Fairy Drops? A: Fairy drops aren't consumable. They stay for more then one use. If you accidentally lose one then just go to a fairy in a town like area and talk to her. She also gives you one if it isn't in your inventory so put one in your item locker! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: What good is the Ant Colony? A: It can provide a place to store your money that is a very good reason. It also provides shops which have great weapons and skills. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Should I be scared of ant lions? A: Not really a good excavation team has nothing to worry about in terms of a real battle. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: How many antz can I have at once? A: I believe it is twenty antz. That seems to be the right number. It has in every colony before has been 20 of something and Capcom decided to keep the magic number. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: How do you tell if a shop has reached its maximum? A: When the page is full then the shop won't get anymore items! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: Do I need to use the Ant Colony? A: It all depends on you level of commitment. If you want to get 1/4 D-ratio then it is probably necessary. It isn't required but to get Kokon-Horay that is your only option. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>< Colony map: I have slowly been mapping out the colony and have be drawing this map then transferring it in to ACSII Art. Tunneling can find you money and rooms to build houses. While digging you can run into miner problems. Sometimes a rock can land on the team hurting the ant team. Or you can run into a giant ant lion (Note you can see it way before you run into it). Fighting the ant lion isn't hard. STATS NEEDED: High HP -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2.)Market: This is a job for antz who are kind of pathetic. To what I have seen the ant needs no special requirements. There are 4 types of shops. A skill shop, Ryu shop, Nina shop, Lin shop. These are all useful with giving skills and other stuff. To see a shop list go to the next section! Shops become useless after you have gotten all you wanted so just change the store until there is no more then convert to something useful! STATS NEEDED: Nothing really. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.) Lab: Smart antz think up of new jobs and Items. An essential for having the colony grow. Eventually the jobs lab and the item lab will be useless but first you have gotten everything. So like the market you should convert it once it is all over. STATS NEEDED: High Smarts! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4.) Explorer: Useful to a point but it isn't a really big deal. You send the ant on an expedition and hope it comes back. If it does you may get a great item. Probability doesn't favor you so I can't recommend this. STATS NEEDED: High HP -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5.) Cafeteria: This job is a basic way to make money. Put antz with high tastes in the job position and money goes up rather quickly. It only gains you money and nothing else. Really a beginners job that can come in handy but you should do something else. STATS NEEDED: High Tastes -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6.) Bank: This is another job that really doesn't need high anything. It stores money for you and stays stored when you restart! So this already is useful. It has a foreign exchange system that is quite unique. You can exchange for foreign money then trade it back later. You could possibly make money on the exchange if the value of the currency you exchanged goes up. If it goes down you lost money. Trust me it is a great money maker. It is so easy to max out you wallet you should do it! It also has an interest system called the big 100. Kill 100 Genics you get 1.1 interest on your Big 100 account. There is another thing called a Super 500 which is the same principle as the big 100 only you get twice as much. STATS NEEDED: Smarts more or less. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7.) Music hall: This lets you listen to the sound track as well as make money. It makes money and you get the sound tracks. So I would recommend converting the cafeteria to a Music hall. STATS NEEDED: High Tastes! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8.) Trainer This trains you antz for you. Helpful to a point. Best for low stat antz. I highly recommend using it for your antz. STATS NEEDED: Nothing -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9.) The Daily This is another money maker job. It requires a bit more work than the others. There are three jobs. One for you high HP ant, one for you smart ant, and one for your tasteful ant. Max stats can make you a fortune but I don't use it. STATS NEEDED: High everything (One of the three stats high on each ant) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10.) Review Board This is a reward job for doing weird tasks. This is okay and will keep the challenge in the game. Your main goal with it is too complete them all. There are some that aren't favorable but you do what you have to! STATS NEEDED: High Smarts -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 11.) Breeder You get to breed some nuggets. This is a hopeful moneymaker for you. Not really very useful, more of a hassle than anything else. You pick the food that the fairy feeds the nugget and hope you raise a good one. Unfortunately this takes too much time for me to get really into it and there really ain't much interaction. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>< Song list: These are the songs found in the Music Hall: 1.) Note you have to activate the challenge to complete it! Chicken Runner: Run away from battle 9 times in a row (Through a door). Suggestion: Just put all your money in the bank. Then runaway 9 times in a row! Prize: C'Mere!! (level 1 skill for Lin) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Combo Master: Get a Combo 9 times in a row. (Thanks to Kareemverdun) Suggestion: You first need to equip a weapon that has all the slots available. Then, put a skill into each slot. Then charge one round of AP to double your points, (you need to be able to reach 180=10+10+10+20+20+20+30+30+30), find a boss or an enemy with high HP and, the title combo master is yours. You will only be able to do this with Ryu in the beginning. I say this because: 1-You would have to go through the Kokon Hooray to get Nina's level 3 skills, or go through the Powersector area. 2-Lin only have 2 available level 3 skills early on, Blow up and Lets dance. 3- Ryu can do this very early after acquiring the Legend Blade, (either by buying the +1 at the Ryu's skill store in the ant colony or getting the +9 on level 48 or 49 in the Kokon Hooray, I did not get this far yet!!!) All the slots are open, and I have never had the Great Smash skill work on a boss,(believe you me, I have tried!!!). I actually found this out by accident. I completed all of the other challenges and just hoped I would stumbled over it, and I did, hee hee Prize: Auto Rifle +9 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goo King: Kill 9 goos in a row! Suggestion: After beating the game in BioCorp (When you have Nina and Lin) on the first or second floor there is a D-ratio door. Go through it. In the lower levels there are Goos galore. I counted like 15 goos easily. Prize: 30,000z -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Technician: Win 9 battles in a row and receive no damage Suggestion: After restarting beef up Ryu to level 20. Then in the early levels this is no problem. Prize: bladesmack level 2 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Duke Hunter: Kill 9 Dukes in a row (you guessed it) 9 times. Suggestion: After restarting beef up Ryu to level 20. Then in the early levels this is no problem. Prize: 1000 party XP -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1-Round Warrior: Kill all enemies in 1 round 9 times in a row! Suggestions: Single out one enemy doing what I suggested above and bingo you will do it easy. Prize: Kidding!! (level 2 skill for Lin) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tri-Buster: Kill 9 three headed monsters in a row! Suggestions: At Biocorp Lab 2cd floor there are two 3 headed monsters. Just keep Restoring! Prize: ? armor for Nina (Angel Coat+6) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hard Puncher: Do 999+ damage in one turn! Suggestions: D-dive, D-Power twice, Hurricane on a weak enemy. Prize: ? sword for Ryu (Celtis+9) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Robo Crusher: Defeat 9 machine creatures in a row! Suggestions: In the factory after Ice cavern there are huge strings of them. Prize: ? shield for Ryu (ChobhamPlate) <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>< Sites With my permission to host my FAQ: Game FAQS IGN If you inquire to host this FAQ contact me (See contact info at top).
