Credits *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- * Introduction - *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- Greetings! Gyl Here! After another year of being quiet and non-active with my FAQ writing hobby i certainly feel the urge of writing one up after a year of nothingness. I love Xenosaga and I felt like sharing a bit of my knowledge, which i think isn't that new to some, yet i kinda feel like i still have some people out there that i could lend a helping hand. I kinda feel like tired of making a FAQs/Walkthrough, well for atleas the time of, so i'll try my best to bring out a nice Secrets FAQs here. I love helping people and i love sharing my ideas with all of you guys. Anyway, enough blabbers here and there and let's get on with the show. By the way, contributions are pretty much accepted. If you do contribute I'll be certain to add you on the credit lists. And oh, I've changed my mailing address now as the old account was completely trashed by some junkie virus so there from my old [evil_tyrant_gyl@hotmail.com] it's now [gylisgod@yahoo.com]. Let's roll... *-*-*-*-*-*-* * Revisions * *-*-*-*-*-*-* April 03, 2004 (04.03.04) Version 1 ----------------------------------- - It's basically what the FAQ is composed of. Started most of what a basic FAQs and Guides should hold. April 10, 2004 (04.10.04) Version 1.1 ------------------------------------- - Completed the Email Section. A step at a time is good, ne? Anyway, I'm of to other things so the completion of the guide would be at hand. April 15, 2004 (04.15.04) Version 1.3 ------------------------------------- - Just added the comment and a little low down on the A.G.W.S. Section. Also I'm testing what might trigger the random-ness of the point boosting event slot. Back at the update, I've put the list of Frames, Generators and Weapons there as well for a more in-depth feel. I also started compiling my knowledge on the A.G.W.S. mini game so you might find something helpful there now. April 16, 2004 (04.16.04) Version 1.4 ------------------------------------- - We're getting there. Now, the guide is holding a couple of useful stuffs now. Taking each step, slowly, I could finish the whole guide in no time. Anyway, I've finished the optional boss section now. Semi-complete actually as it only features the strategy and not much detailed 'What to equip' thing but it will serve it's purpose alright. April 24, 2004 (04.24.04) Final Version ------------------------------------- - Finally was able to finish them all. I've completed the Xenocards and the other mini-games information. Thanks for waiting and have fun! *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* * Leveling Tips * *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* *NOTE: I'm writing these all down based from my gaming experience and I might [most probably] have forgotten the monster names or to take down info bout it. So please excuse me. [it would be nice if you could help me in that part thought ^^] Why should I level anyway? Actually leveling will give you money as you level so there. Seriously, this just adds a bit more fun to the game as you battle final bosses without boarding your A.G.W.S. at the same time you could worry less succumbing to bosses after bosses or finding yourself short in cash. Of course, this part of the guide helps you to counter those uh... bad stuffs. This section focuses mainly on leveling. Where, What and How to easily earn those EXPs. as well as those Tech, Skill and Ether Points and a bit of items and cash on the way. I'll be separating each leveling points on every stages in the game. I'll be making them as easy to follow and understand as possible. But before everything else there's only one thing you should be well aware of. Boosts and the Points Event Guage. They are two of the most crucial parts to take note during this times. Here's a quick information about them: Boosts = They are earned as you use or perform an attack on an enemy. Ether spells aren't counted. Also, items/accessories like the Booster Pack gives you a 1 boost at the begining of every battle. Boosts are accumulated in the red bar/guage beneath the character information during every battles. There's also the Boost Slot Guage, an event guage/slot that looks like a golden/yellow colored ring. During this times the Boost Guage accumulates twice the normal. An ether spell[Boost I from Shion] could also give the target ally 1 boost during a battle. Points Event Guage = They are the coin looking slot event guage with a little '+' sign in them. During this times, if a monster is slain or defeated you have a random chance of earning x2, x4 or x10 of the total Tech, Ether, and Skill points from the monster defeated. Unto experience earning. Points[Experience] could be earned by all present and those surviving party members, yes it is a good thing that way but the drawback is those that doesn't participate in battle doesn't receive any Tech Skill or Ether points to that matter. The Experience point earned from all defeated monster is divided to the present party members. So if you have like only Shion present and she defeated a monster that rewards 60 EXP points she'll receieve all 60 exp points, but if the whole party[of 6] is present then each would receive 10 EXP points each. The low down here is to either use boosts to easily hit the Point Event Guage slot to kill the monster for the reward point boost or simply kill them during the boost. This could be optional but it is a great way[and the only way, if i might add] to earn those additional Ether/Tech/Skill Points. Anyway, with that in mind let's step on the actual tips parts. The Format would go like this: [Stage/Chapter/Level/Map] ------------------------- [Brief Explanation on where to level, how or what to do] [The Enemy information of the one you'll level up on] Name: [] HP: [] Weak: [] EXP: [] TP: [] EP: [] SP: [] Rare: [] Item: [] Type: [] Cash: [] [Strategy] [Suggested level before leaving/stopping] [Additional Info] [Why earn that level?] Woglinde -------- At the very beginning of the game, you could access the A.G.W.S. Hangar of the Woglinde and talk to the Engineer there to enter into a simulation battle against a simulated 'Drone SPX'. The battle isn't restricted, that means you could use you own A.G.W.S., Ether Spells, Items etc.. The simulation could only be accessed before the Woglinde is invaded by the Gnosis so I suggest you pump Shion. NOTE: I suggest you earn as much as you can and buy a lot of Med Kits and a couple of Ether in this area and conserve using it for Ziggy[Asteroid Pleroma] mission and if possible I suggest you take off KOS-MOS defaul accessory that is the 'White Ring' [AGI+1] for Ziggy's use. Name: Drone SPX Cash: 0 HP: 280 Type: Mechanical Weak: Lightning Rare: None Item: Med Kit S EXP: 40 TP: 18 EP: 0 SP: 16 In this battle you are free to board your A.G.W.S. or fight with Shion alone. The first few/earlier parts would be tough for Shion to handle so board your A.G.W.S. and level that way. The Drone is uberly easy upon reaching level 3 or 4 Shion could easily solo it without boarding her A.G.W.S. You could eaither aim for the Points Event Slot before earning the kill or not, but I suggest you do so. The Spell Ray path[T,T,O] works far better than the Lightning Blast Tech Attack[S,S,O] mathematicaly the Spell Ray Path deals more damage than the LB Attack even if it's weak against lightnings it should deal more damage. After the battle Shion'll be back in full HP/EP to fight again. Rinse and repeat. Suggested Level before stopping: 7-9 Added Info: I'd say it's 7. Never mind Shion's other Tech Attacks, just keep pumping Spell Ray, putting it into HI Slot first then pump it, it'll serve its purpose till the end of the game. By then you should be 2-turn killing the Drone and if you're in luck you could get them in just 1-turn. Why earn that level? This'll give you an easy boost early on. Note that if Shion reached any level by then KOS-MOS[once they teamed up] will be the same level as Shion and you'll basically own the Woglinde level during the Gnosis attack. With Spell Ray on the HI Slot that early on, you'll be 1-turn killing every Gnosis there in that level and you won't find a hard time dealing with the Minotaur boss waiting in the last part of the stage. Asteroid Pleroma ---------------- Okay, the level will be a bit tougher. If you heed my command to stock up on Med Kits before hand you'll have no troubles here. In the first area, where there are guards patroling i suggest you take out one at a time. They respawns everytime the game loads up another area of the stage. BTW, you should equip the 'White Ring'[AGI+1] before hand so Ziggy could cope with his slow speed. Required Equips: White Ring [AGI+1] = Unequip it from KOS-MOS before hand Snake Hunter [Prevent Poison] = could be acquired at the second part of the level Scope = could be acquired in the first area of the level Name: U-TIC Soldier Cash: 40 HP: 90 Type: Biological Rare: Med Kit S Item: Med Kit Weak: Fire EXP: 30 TP: 2 EP: 2 SP: 2 Name: U-TIC Soldier Cash: 80 HP: 120 Type: Biological Rare: Med Kit S Item: None Weak: Fire EXP: 40 TP: 2 EP: 2 SP: 2 Name: Mechanical Crab HP: 160 TP: 4 Type: Mechanical Always! and I mean always! use Ziggy's Ether Spell 'My Guard' [Focus DEF] to cut the U-TIC Soldier's rifle attacks to 40 damages or less compared to the 100+ they could normally do and equip a 'Snake Hunter' and 'Scope' Accessory that you'll find on your way. Start killing the 90 HPed Soldiers first. With two buttoned simple attack Ziggy could dish enough damage to kill one at a time. You should be earning 100+ EXP points per battle. You'll easily fare with it during the earlier part. Suggested Level before stopping: 7-9 Added Info: I'd say it's 7. With the stocked Med Kits and Ethers as well as the prepared AGI+1 accessories that we've prepared for Ziggy. At level 7 he'll basically kill every U-TIC soldier with a 4AP tech attack combo with the Lightning Fist Tech Attack set on HI Slot. Ooooh, I forgot, you should put the Lightning Fist Tech Attack on HI Slot and earn as much EP points for the Bodyguard Ether Spell. Why earn that level? Coming unprepared, almost everytime you'll be trying to evade any battle till you could rescue MOMO but if you've followed my preparation you can take advantage of Ziggy earning as much for himself during this time. You also need an early level boost to earn the Body Guard eather spell which is a big help if you want to ease the battle with the Boss in the stage. Also, the early leveling could earn you enough power to face the lone Zolfo that has the Decoder#4 so you won't have to back track back here afterwards. The Elsa -------- You should've united all 5 characters here[Shion,chaos,KOS-MOS,Ziggy,MOMO]. Pick your 3 most powerful characters and let's start leveling! ^^ I personally picked Ziggy, KOS-MOS, and Shion here. MOMO and chaos should have their EP saved for healing after battles. This is to conserve from using Med Kits for healing. [There are 3 types of monsters here! Curses! I forgot their infos] Anyway, situate yourself in the Save Point area near the hangar and enter the area north from it. The area where you use the Disarm Key. Anyway, the monster there deals damage with beams attack so take them out before they could deal as much damage. Each set of monster should be giving 120+ EXP points per kill and with All three of them [Ziggy, KOS-MOS and Shion] having Tech Attacks on HI Slots, you could easily earn those 120+ EXP points with no troubles at all. Just heal with MOMO or chaos afterwards. Suggested Level before stopping: 10-14 Added Info: 10 would be so-so but 12 would be the safest. Aiming for 14 though would be better as it'll make the boss battle later on a walk in the park. Don't worry about chaos and MOMO trailing with their E/S/T points. They'll catch up easily later. Just keep on doing the round the go back to the room and re-enter so the monster would re-spawn. You could remove the White Ring from Ziggy if you think you could handle the final boss with ease[and i know you could]. Why earn that level? At level 12 you'll barely need an A.G.W.S. to battle the DOMO Carrier boss in this stage. And at the same time you'll be taking care of it a lot faster than boarding one. U-TIC Battle Ship ----------------- The stage will feature Jr. and 2 A.G.W.S. along with him. This is an easy way [though i think the most boring] to be earning EXP as the pre-boarded AGWS fighters with him easily deals off the damage. Name: Federation Soldier Cash: [unsure] HP: 320 Type: Biological Rare: None Item: Escape Pack Weak: Fire EXP: [unsure]but roughly around 200 TP: [unsure] EP: [unsure] SP: [unsure] Name: Gardis M1 Cash: 0 HP: 450 Type: Mechanical Rare: None Item: Med Kit S Weak: Lightning EXP: 350 TP: 10 EP: 0 SP: 8 Name: HP: 150+ Type: Mechanical Jr. is by far the best damage dealer in the game and in this stage he is accompanied by two pre-boarded AGWS pilots. Easily work your way through the stage and there are two areas you could keep on leveling. First is to keep on pushing through the infra-red lights to ring the alarm and automatically engage in a battle or don't disarm the alarm in the room near the Ace Pilot Area to keep on being engaged every time you try to enter one room. Two of your party mates can easily take an enemy out at a time and so as Jr. even not boarding his A.G.W.S. Suggested Level before stopping: 14 Added Info: And did i just mentioned it being boring? Anyway, I would suggest you aim for level 14+ here[14 would be the safest]. Simply keep on vouching for a fight and just accumulate as much T/S/E points as you could during the process. [Reserve them for something better later on] You could also earn a decent amount of Excape Packs and Med Kits while you're at it. Why earn that level? The reason is to not make Jr. fall behind Shion's current average party level as he'll be a great addition to leveling later on as you acquire better equips. Dock Colony ----------- Before you go and get to your mission I suggest you to take a tour on the U.M.N. first for a couple more extra stuffs. Since you could rest in the Elsa and recuperate those lost EP and HP travel back to 'Asteroid Pleroma' Note that during this times Shion should be alone. Don't approach anyone else yet. This'll make you earn EXP faster and level the rest of the group in the same manner. Back in Asteroid Pleroma deal with the roaming guards again. A good 100+ EXP should be enough for you to be leveling on till like around 17 or so. Shion's Spell Ray should be owning them by now even if she's all alone. Equip her with a Snake Hunter and White Ring[that is if you've unequiped it from Ziggy] so she could battle them with competent speed. Upon reaching the desired level of 17+ you could no go one with your Cathedral Ship -------------- Now we're talking about a bit more leveling here. The place gives you an ample amount of EXP E/S/T points and at the same time providing you with some useful drops of items. >Post Mall Part< Name: Cerberus Cash: 0 HP: 500 Type: Gnosis Rare: None Item: Med Kit S Weak: Beam EXP: 320 TP: 8 EP: 8 SP: 2 Name: Fairy Cash: 0 HP: 180 Type: Gnosis Rare: Ether Pack S Item: Ether Pack Weak: Pierce EXP: 100 TP: 3 EP: 4 SP: 2 Name: Ogre Cash: 0 HP: 800 Type: Gnosis Rare: Skill Upgrade A Item: Antidote Weak: Spirit EXP: 680 TP: 12 EP: 0 SP: 0 >Mall Part< Name: Lizard Man Cash: 0 HP: 420 Type: Gnosis Rare: Hemlock Item: None Weak: Ice EXP: 260 TP: 10 EP: 3 SP: 2 Name: Unicorn Cash: 0 HP: 1200 Type: Gnosis Rare: None Item: Unicorn Horn Weak: Pierce EXP: 600 TP: 16 EP: 16 SP: 4 Just work your way to the mall part area, killing monster after another on your way. The Lizard Men and Unicorns in the mall part area should rack you EXP during this parts. It's a great idea to level in the part where there is the Segment #13 where the 2 unicorns are contained in a destructible mini- prison. It's a great idea to level here for a while because it is near a save point where you could use a Bio Sphere[if truly needed] or purchase your necessity in the White Floating Thing near it. Simply keep on blasting them you could level here for a 2 quick[and safe] levels [that is if you didn't leveled during the Dock Colony stage] and then heal up and proceed to the other building area with a couple of Lizard Men[a total of 4 engage-able enemy units +1 Fiary present there]. On the next room hosts a save point so it'll be another safe way to rack up on EXP here. Since you've got some HI Slot Tech Attacks pumped you should find no problem dealing with Lizard Men as a measly 420 HP could only take you a hit or two to take them down. Hemlocks could prove useful later on when leveling as well ones you earn the 'BraveSould' Acc later on. Talk about hitting 2 birds with 1 stone. Suggested Level before stopping: 19-23 Added Info: I was 23 during this level and it truly made the boss battle easier without boarding my A.G.W.S. It's also a nice way to earn Hemlocks so you won't have to return here to earn a couple of it later on. Why earn that level? 23 is a very safe level to engage the Oudogogue and Gargoyle boss later in the level. Also, it helps if you want to take on Great Joe early on. Durandal -------- Before you look for MOMO, head for the Docks and board the Elsa and travel back through the Cathedral Ship and level Shion there again[she'll be alone during this times again so let's take advantage of it!] If you're on the same level as I am [level 23 during that time] you should level herself up on the Mall part[Lizard Men] area if you're a little level short level on the Post-Mall part[Fairies/Cerebrus] till Shion could take on the Mall Area alone. I say earn as much till 25-27 here. You could pass up leveling here if you want. You could level much easier later on. Kukai ----- See Durandal. Shion should be alone again by now. You could earn the 99 Recovery Set if you want now befora talking to Jr. and travel back to the Cathedral Ship if you would want to level some more. Aim for atleast 25-27 during this times. Surely you won't find a hard time now as the 99 Recovery Set will make you last a loooooooong time. But if you do feel like it's much of a work wait till you could go rest and then earn the Throni Blade summon then take a tour to the Inn in the sector and travel to the Cathedral Ship for easier leveling. Just keep on summoning it every Point Event Guage to rack as much E/S/T points as possible. Note: Earn the Bravesould and Golden Dice equips in the Casino Encephalon ---------- Now, we're talking about serious leveling. Anyway, there are two things you could do here. You level up or go rush the stage to finish it up A.S.A.P. and return later on and focus on leveling. If you leveled up till the desired cap i suggested [25-27] you'll find no trouble dealing with the final boss here but if you choose the second option you could rush leveling up later on cutting your leveling time, big time. Required Equips on [Jr.]: White Ring [AGI+1] = Unequip it from KOS-MOS before hand Bravesoul = Casino Golden Dice = Casino Required Ether Spell [MOMO]: Boost 1 = Transferable Ether Spell from Shion Name: Dirlewanger Cash: 400 HP: 380 Type: Biological Rare: Ether Pack S Item: Med Kit S Weak: Fire EXP: 220 TP: 12 EP: 6 SP: 10 Name: Kubel Cash: 0 HP: 800 Type: Mechanical Rare: None Item: Junked Circuit A Weak: Lightning EXP: 420 TP: 18 EP: 6 SP: 20 Jr. should have earned his Storm Waltz attack by now and if you've reserved your Tech Points like i suggested. Invest some and put it on his high slot. The trick here is to cast Boost 1 on Jr. every beginning of the level and let his HP wander down as with the Bravesould and GD equipped he'll deal more damage as his HP drains down. Okay, Always aim for the Point Event Guage here and then use the 'Storm Waltz' Tech Attack of Jr. to kill them all with a shot. Rinse and repeat. Just heal when needed. Suggested Level before stopping: 28-33 Added Info: 33 would be too much. 28 would be the safest. Why earn that level? This level will earn you as much T/S/E points as possible and could earn you as much EXP to easily win over the boss battle later on. Name: Bugbear Cash: 0 HP: 980 Type: Gnosis Rare: Tech Upgrade A Item: Med Kit S Weak: Spirit EXP: 480 TP: 24 EP: 2 SP: 6 Name: Kobold Cash: 0 HP: 280 Type: Gnosis Rare: None Item: Kobold Blade Weak: Lightning EXP: 260 TP: 12 EP: 4 SP: 10 Shion and chaos could pretty much take care of it. If you've earned the 99 Recovery set and got 99 Ethers, go spam every time they attack you with Throni Blade and just hit them with normal attacks[ethers on Bubear] if they still are standing. Suggested Level before stopping: 28-33 Added Info: 33 would be too much. 28 would be the safest. Why earn that level? This level will earn you as much T/S/E points as possible and could earn you as much EXP to easily win over the boss battle later on. Kukai ----- Now, you'll be alone here again[Weeee! All Shion!] Return to the U.M.N. and travel to the Encephalon. Now for a far more serious and fast leveling. Required Equips on [Shion]: Angel Ring = Encephalon stage Hit those spot-lights now and just blast them with Throni Blade on your first turn. You'll be earning 1000+ EXP points per win here and enough to propel your level to 30+ [40 even]. Simply keep on Throni Blading them, if it isn't killing them with a shot pump your EATK with accessories or pump it with your remaining Tech Points if you would. Suggested Level before stopping: 33-35 [40 if you truly have the time] Why earn that level? It'll help you to easily take on the following bosses, Great Joe and Mintia. Also the searchlights in the area gives a lot of cash and useful items. It is also an easy way of leveling even before you could earn the Erde Kaiser summon. The process is simply cheap and effective. After Song of Nephilim/Before Proto Merkabah -------------------------------------------- Now here's a time for the real thing. LEVEL UP! LEVEL UP! LEVEL UP! First and foremost get the 'Erde Kaiser' Summon. It's a 12 slots in your ether spells[that means it'll be the only spell you'll have] and a 60 EP cost Ether spell that deals 9999 damage regardless of whatever the target does. So now what to do with it upon receiving it. First of you need 2 very useful equips and a lot of Ethers. Required Equipment on [Shion]: Angel Ring = to cut the Erde Kaiser cost to 30EP Booster Pack = so you could always earn those Point Even Guage kill. Equipment on character [that you want to pump] then just double the effect with the corresponding skill[though it's a level 5 skill and costs 1000] XP Master's Pendant = +25% EXP receive Craft Apron = +15% S. Pts Swimsuit = +15% T.Pts Star Hat = +15% E.Pts Where to level: Din Gareth Okay, now here's what to do. Since after you kill the Pilot he'll boost and board his A.G.W.S. and take away the next turn right away. So inorder to always fall into the right Point Even Guage always give the final blow to the Ace Pilot during the Critical Event Slot. He'll then take his A.G.W.S.'s turn during the Boost Even Guage by that time you should've used the boost given by the Booster Pack Equipment on Shion and you'll have your turn during the Points event slot then deal him away with the Erde Kaiser Summon. That way he'll be dead really quick. If you manage to earn as much as 99 Ethers you could just keep on running in and out of his room and engaging him as you recuperate your lost EP with the ethers. Repeat and Rinse. Suggested Level before stopping: 40-60 I would suggest you be around 50. It's fairly easy to hit that level though as an hour earned me 7 levels up that's from 40-47 in an hour. You could earn as much if you would persevere a little more. Din Gareth gives 2555EXP each party member that easily. With the Erde Kaiser around, you'll be leveling like crazy. *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- * Segment Addresses and Decoder Keys * *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- Segment Address #1 ------------------ "Our Treasure" Inn Roof. I'll make things a bit quicker here. Okay, emails are received often through out the game. It carries either a quick information, a random plug, a heplpful hint, a new tech attack, a boost on zennies, or the U.M.N. updates. At most parts of the game, Emails are triggered by 3 things[i think] one is by the entering a location, by triggering it through an event, or following/replying through a past email. Since most people[players] overlook the importance of emails, it is the only way to get a couple of freebies[a lot of zennies people!] and KOS-MOS' final tech attack. I'll simply make a list of the emails and the possibilities when chosing something. [Email #] [The kind of mail] [Short Descriptions] [Other informations] [] [] [] I'll be classifying mails by their worth. They could either fall to the Informations[Infos], Things that'll lead to free stuffs[Freebies], unlocking a level/map in the E.V.S.[EVS], or the Special Category[Special]. They are as follows: [Infos] - Emails that contains varied datas/information. [Freebies] - Emails that will lead to Free stuffs. [EVS] - Emails that allows you to re-visit maps through E.V.S. [Special] - Emails that does not fall to any category, KOS-MOS' tech attacks received through mail could be found under this category. #01-04. Now, head to the simulator past the narrow area in the beginning. The area of the Ace Pilot is where you need to blow up a certain security for the door. The area in the U-TIC battleship where if you don't blow the security of the door up, you'll keep on getting [alerts] and soldier encounters. It is the room beside the room where you could interrogate a prisoner during Jr.'s solo mission. He's in the room where you can access Segment #11. He'll simply be standing there waiting for you to initiate the battle. He'll be a simple U-TIC soldier at first then board his A.G.W.S. before he get killed. Also, I would suggest you kill him a slot before the critical event slot as he'll take away the next turn with an action on-board his A.G.W.S. 1. Meld Gareth -------------- He's the primary AGWS the Ace Pilot will board before completing the Song of Nephilim stage. Also, he'll board this if 2 of your characters[combatant] are boarding their A.G.W.S. Name: Meld Gareth Cash: 1000 HP: 5500 Type: Mechanical Rare: B-Max Circuit Item: Frame Repair Z Weak: None EXP: 4000 TP: 60 EP: 20 SP: 60 General Strategy: He could deal an all out party damage but not enough to deliver a 1-hit blow to your guys. Combine your equipments and skills properly HP Strong[Brave Soul], UD Damage[Golden Dice] and the likes, those equipments that are very useful in battle. Pair them up with your strongest characters and blast Meld Gareth away. On an A.G.W.S. keep using W-ACT for a bigger damage dealing way. Shion Strategy: I would want her to have the Shock Blade equiped with the cartridge that makes Mechanical Type enemies [Slow] this will really really help you out as this A.G.W.S. is slow and you've even slowed him down. I also would make her an attacker/healer primarily using Spell Ray, better if the Tech Attack's set at HI Slot and it's pumped up well. Even with Minimal Equips or skills she could function well. Be sure to use Queen's Kiss to still the B-Max Circuit, you could use it on your own A.G.W.S. or sell it. KOS-MOS Strategy: I would want her to have the Bravesoul or the HP Strong skill. Hemlock her[or ressurect her after she've fallen] and blast Meld Gareth away. I would suggest you put R-Dragon on HI Slot and pump it up. Also, having KOS-MOS equip a booster pack and boosting every Hi-Critical Event Slot will rack you as much damage with R-Dragon everytime. Speed Shoes[or the skill] or White Ring[AGI+1] would also make her benefit from as much turns she could get. Roughly a dying KOS-MOS[means low-almost no HP] at a later level could deal 1400+ damage per R-Dragon. Ziggy Strategy: The only Strategy I've managed to use Ziggy on is to pump him with speed[Speed Shoes/White Ring] or speed boosting skill then equip him with the BraveSoul and if you could fit one more skill/equip in throw in the Golden Dice. His Hell Fire move will really own Meld Gareth. Just have him Hemlock-ed or keep his HP at the lowest. He should be a bit faster than some of your characters if you've decided to use him. Also, be sure to use boost 1 on your healer if Ziggy got knocked down so you could ressurect him up again. MOMO Strategy: She's your primary healer. Equip her with Angel Ring and a Booster Pack so she could use the boost then ressurect or heal somebody when needed. She should have the Boost Ether Spell as well so she could keep on Boosting people every turn. She also should be placed at the back part so she won't take the beating. She also has some Ether Spells against M-Type units that you could use to your advantage. It's fun to induce sleep to it and cast 3-4 Boost on two of your attackers then unleashing 8 or so attacks in succession. chaos Strategy: I had him board a well equipped A.G.W.S. all the time though i don't really recommend you do so if you could make him deal damage like crazy. A well pumped Heaven's Wrath+Goden Dice+Brave Soul+Hemlock would seal the deal big time. He could be dealing 1000+ damage every turn considering that Heaven's Wrath is placed on HI Slot. He should aslo be the sub-healer or sub-attacker if you want. Jr. Strategy: Hemlock+Brave Soul+Golden Dice+Speed Shoes+White Ring+Double Buster = OWNAGE. Yeah, with total speed and constant Jr. Boosts he should be dealing 2000-3000+ every 6 AP worth of turn. Angelic Requim after Angelic Requim or any attack to that matter would do. He's an offensive jaggernaut and the only way to stop him is to kill him. Well you're lucky he's an ally. Anyway, just keep him attacking and before you know it he's dead. 2. Anyway, just keep him attacking and before you know it he's dead.

Great Joe
---------
To find Great Joe, you should put Jr. to be the on-screen lead[he should be
the character walking around instead of Shion or anyone]. Anyway he's in the
Durandal in the Residential Area. Just go past the Casino area into the
next area and head right when facing the corridor that parts from left to
right. He's in one of the closet, just blast it and choose "BRING IT ON" as
a reply.

Name: Great Joe Cash: 200
  HP: 9999 Type: Biological
Rare: Swimsuit
Item: None
Weak: None
 EXP: 18000
  TP: 200
  EP: 180
  SP: 200

General Strategy: You're opt to use Jr. anyway he's easy to predict whether
what he'll do. Mostly he talks a lot so there, you probably got the hint.
He'll be conversing or addressing something to the character that he'll attack
next. He also has skills that makes damage heal him and vice versa and be sure
to steal the swimsuit from him. Anyway Jr. should have the Brave Soul+Golden
Dice+Double Buster Combination[welll you could drop the Double Buster if you
haven't got it yet]. He should be the main damage dealer and have atleast 1
to assist with damage dealing as well. The other character should focus on
healing or giving boosts or ether buffs to other characters. Also, give
Jr. Speed boosting equips/skills as much as possible.

Shion Strategy: Angel ring, She should equip one if you decide to bring her.
She should be healing while dealing damage with her buffed Spell ray.

KOS-MOS Strategy: A Secondary Damage dealer. Equip her with what is said on
the Meld/Din Gareth Strategy if possible. If not pump her Phys. Str and keep
on R-Dragon-ing him.

Ziggy Strategy: A Secondary Damage dealer. If you decide to bring Ziggy around
give him the speed boosters[speed shoes etc...] so he could compete freely.
He should be focusing on attacking and healing with items[or ether spells
if you transferred a healing spell on him] so he could build AP if necessary.

MOMO Strategy: She should be behind Jr. so he could use the Ether Spell that
ressurects himself if a female character is behind him or something like that
Ether Spell of Jr. Have her constantly on the move to heal, buffing or
boosting. Angel Ring is a must for her.

chaos Strategy: Prolly a great secondary attacker/dealer, great supporting
ability. Have him keep on attacking and healing back to back. Use the
Meld/Din Gareth Strategy for him.

Mintia
------
MOMO should be the on-screen lead character to trigger the mini-boss encounter
here and it is suggested to bring along female characters [KOS-MOS, Shion
and MOMO] so she won't massacre the guys. Anyway, in the Kuka Foundation,
Sector 26 & 27, there's a level outside by the entrance of the Ironman pub.
Turn it to extend the roof above. Okay, go around The 'My Treasure' inn
and slide down thecat walk, unto the awning below and walk accross to a the
opening there. Mintia will engage you there on.

Name: Mintia Cash: 12000
  HP: 7777 Type: Gnosis
Rare: Craft Apron
Item: Penguin Rod
Weak: None
 EXP: 22000
  TP: 160
  EP: 240
  SP: 200

MOMO Strategy: She should be standing behind KOS-MOS or Shion[who ever your
primary damage dealer would be, i had her behind shion as my Shion's Spell
Ray totally rocks]. Anyhow, she should do her usuall, buff, heal and boost
everyone. You should maintain a high level of HP here to avoid a sudden swipe
as Mintia sometiems attacks 2 in a row. Angel Ring here.

Shion Strategy: If she'll be your main attack give her the Speed Boosters
[Speed Shoes, White Ring etc...]. Spell Ray her all the way, minimal
aequipments woul suffice and have her keep on healing or attacking, depending
on the flow of the combat.

KOS-MOS Strategy: If she'll be your main attack give her the Speed Boosters
[Speed Shoes, White Ring etc...]. Equip her the usuall Jr.Strategy Combo and
have her do R-Dragon Tech Attack after another. She should keep it up and
equip her with heal so you could save yourself if things gets messy.

to play. The exchange rate are as follows: 10 Coins = 100G.
                                           100 Coins = 950G.
                                           500 Coins = 4500G.
                                          1000 Coins = 8000G.

o Slot Game
The slot game is fairly simple. You bet into any or each slot and you must
form the same pictures on the same spot where you placed your bet. You rack
points depending on how big or what illustrations you formed. As simple as
that. I wouldn't suggest you go and rack coins here for exchange though as it
is rather unstable and it is all based no luck. Though i heard some people
exploiting a glitch here though i haven't confirmed it yet.

o Poker Game
In the poker game you could bet from 5 coins to 100 coins depening on the
level you chose. It's much like a 70:30 chance of winning here as you'll rack
as much coins here than the slot game. The winning or x factors are as follows

[x1]One Pair: A hand consisting of two cards with the same denomination.
[x2]Two Pairs: 2 same denomination of cards.
[x3]Three of a Kind: 3 of the same denomination cards
[x5]Straight: A hand that contains five straight sequences. It follows no
pattern as long as it is in a sequence[e.i ascending or descending].
[x7]Flush:A set of cards that has the same suit regardless of the denomination
[x10]Full House: Three of a Kind + One Pair set of cards
[x20]Four of a Kind: Four of the same denomination of cards.
[x50]Straight Flush: A hand that contains a Straight + Flush
[x100]Royal Flush: A straight flush that contains the highest denomination of
       card patterns.

> HI or Low

[K] 100.00%
[Q] 92.31%
[J] 84.62%
[T] 76.92%
[9] 69.23%
[8] 61.54%
[7] 53.85% <-- Yes, even this is in your favor over the long haul,
[6] 61.54% which is what we're playing for.
[5] 69.23%
[4] 76.92%
[3] 84.62%
[2] 92.31%

*taken from xenosaga_poker.txt by James Doyle / "Kadamony"

Basically you still have to face odds even a 2 card has a 92.31% chance of
ending up with a 1/A card. Basically the numbers shows the odds of the cards
being picked so you could anticipate whether to bet for Hi or Low basically
go Hi on Cards A-7 and Low on 8-K.

Drilling Game
-------------
To play the Drilling game, first you need the Drill Passport. Note, that it
could only be received on the first few hours of the game in The Elsa, before
it is attacked by Gnosis. To do this go into the place in the Elsa where the
Zohar is contained and you could talk to Holgar in the area where you have to
clear the path to get through. I don't think you'll miss him actually. Just
get through his little drill game and after completing everything he'll give
you the Drill Passport.

o Controls
Square = Hold the button down the first time to make it move vertically.
Releasing it will cause it to stop and repressing/holding the
[square] button again will prompt it to move horizontally,
releasing it will make it stop and drill where it was designated to.
X = Exits the mini game.
Select = Pause the game
Left Analog Stick = Changes the camera view.
  R2   = Changes camera angles.

o Modes

> Free Mode
You simply Drill freely hitting prizes. You can get as much prize as you
can here and there are no time limits so you can take your time to aim and
practice before going over the other mode. You can also aim for the Drill
Key here which will open one of the five doors in the level. The Drill Key
Prizes are as Follows: Thief Ring
                         Battle Mask
                         Life Stone
                         Fast Circuit 25
                         Guard Recovery
Though you can also aim for other prizes/boxes/cylinders for other prizes
like Med Kits, Ether Packs, Coins etc...

o Missions

> Mission One
  > Here you simply have to destroy all object in under 80 seconds.
  > Practice on Free Modes so you can have an easier grasp on things.
  > You'll be rewarded with a Speed Stim and Card Pack #1

> Mission Two
  > Here you simply have to destroy all object in under 120 seconds.
  > Practice on Free Modes so you can have an easier grasp on things.
  > Small object makes it tougher to aim, just change the camera angles a lot.
  > You'll be rewarded with a Yamato Belt and Card Pack #1

> Mission Three
  > You should have first spoken to the White two faced Bunny in the
    Encephalon to access this mission.
  > Here you simply have to destroy all object in under 90 seconds.
  > Practice on Free Modes so you can have an easier grasp on things.
  > The moving target makes it harder, just anticipate things well.
  > You'll be rewarded with a Hunter Goggles.

> Mission Four
  > You should have first spoken to the White two faced Bunny in the
    Encephalon to access this mission.
  > Here you simply have to destroy all object in under 50 seconds.
  > Luck would be a good factor here.
  > The bunny that moves in random motions make it tough to aim. But it's
noticeable that it keep on moving towards the center so aim there and
    anticipate his path.
  > You'll be rewarded with a Swimsuit.

A.G.W.S. Battling
------------------

o What is an A.G.W.S. Battling?
> It's a mini game in Xenosaga where you could play on solo, or against a
friend[yeah! 2 player battle!]. It's much like the Armored Core games...
Hm... well, it is like the armored core games, where you customize your
AGWS[only the weapons actually] and you take them on missions or slug it
out with a friend. Though you need a battle passport before hand.

o Battle Passport?
> Yes, you need one so you could access the AGWS mini game in the UMN Save
  points.

o How could i get one?
> It is the chest that you didnt opened in the KOS-MOS simulator. The one
you've unlocked then had yourself teleported out before you could open it.
Return and open the chest. It is the Battle Passport.

>>> Controls <<<

Left Analog Stick/D-Pad = Basic Control/Movement
Start Button = Pause
O Button = Fire Weapon
L1/L2 = Use Left Weapon
R1/R2 = Use Right Weapon
L1 + R1 = Use Alternate Weapon
L1 + L2 = Remove Left Weapon
R1 + R2 = Remove Right Weapon
All shoulder Buttons = Remove Alternate Weapon
L3/R3 = Booster

>>> Single Player Mission <<<

Mission 1
---------
Suggestion: A long ranged weapon[beam or rifle] and a sword.
Simply make your way in the level and kill every mechs. The Long ranged weapon
as your primary weapon so you'll get less damage before dashing in with your
swords. There are a couple of natural shields here, use them to take less hit
or damage.

Mission 2
---------
Suggestion: A long ranged weapon[beam rifle] and a sword[or a shield].
Always keep moving around the enemies are pretty much to waste the shots on
you and miss often. The shield is good if you happen to find yourself in a
stalemate. Take them out with your beam rifle, a sword would be risky but
if you could easily manuever yor AGWS around you could easily deal him good
damage.

Mission 3
---------
Suggestion: A long ranged weapon[beam or rifles] and rockets?
Take them out on the range. Never stop moving or you'll get extremely beat up.
Use the Boost and Jump Boost effectively. Keep running around the covers there
and shoot when there's a clear opening.

Mission 2
---------
Suggestion: A long ranged weapons, beam and rifle on the other.
Use the Beam Rifle when you're on a distance and fire him with the rifles
when it gets tight. It should work much like the other missions. Just have
Fun.

Xenocard
--------

o Card Game?
> In Xenosaga, aside from the number of mini-games available, card games are
but one of them. The fisrt chance you could play the game is that if you've
picked up the Card Passport from the bartender robot in the Elsa. The card
game is one difficult-to-understand-at-first type of card game and isn't
as simple as the card games in the Final Fantasy games. You can't really
say that the game is simple. It aims you to force your opponent to simply
run out of cards, pretty simple? It do sound like it but it isn't actually.

o Cards?
> There are 3 types of cards you need to know when playing Xenocard. First, is
the [Battle Cards] they are [red] in colors and are pretty much a summon
spell in the card game Magic:The Gathering or they are your Monsters in
Yu-Gi-Oh. They are your main units to put it. They are the ones that are
responsible of attacking or defending you. The second one is the [Event
Cards] they are [yellow] in color and they are pretty much the instant
spells compared to the Magic:The Gathering game. They can only be used
ones and anytime during the game. The last type is the [Situation Card]
they are [blue] in color and they are pretty much the Enchantments in
Magic:The Gathering or you could say that they are Trap Cards in Yu-Gi-Oh.

o Battle Cards?
> Battle Cards are pretty much the basic way of making your opponent loose
cards and in the same way protect yours. They fall under a six basic types
and they are Human, Realian, Mech, Gnosis, Unkown and Weapon. Simply to
put it, they are like Color Classes in M:TG or Elemental types in Pokemon
  Card game.

o Layout

                +------+---+-------+-------+---+------+
                | | | | | | |
