1. Guide Information
========================================================================

a. What is This ?

  This Color Correction Guide was written by me in hopes to fix the
horrible colors in Capcom vs. SNK 2 that make pretty much all the 
characters look like they really don't belong in the game together.

  I am a huge fan of King of Fighters, and was very happy to have a
game where the fighters from Capcom and SNK come together in battle.
Although I love the game, I was dissapointed with the low resolution
graphics on the character sprites. They just didn't fit in with the
stage backgrounds, and more importantly, the Capcom characters didn't
look as great as the newly designed SNK characters.

  There had to be a way to fix this i thought, and luckily I found it.
Capcom was kind enough to include a custom Color Edit Mode, and through
this feature I spent countless hours tweaking and fiddling with the 
colors of ALL the characters in the game, in hopes of finding a middle
point where the characters looked like they belong in the game together.

  All the colors of the characters are now more consistant with 
eachother, giving each character a more anime style look, as well as
both letting characters from Capcom and SNK look great together (eg.
with the new colors, check out Dan and Ryo !), and helping to make them 
fit with the backgrounds better.

  Some important changes to note include Dan and Ryo, where Dan has
less of an SF:Alpha outline, and Ryo has the jam removed from his face.
Another important fix is Morrigan, who's sprite was shamefully ripped
straight from Darkstalkers with no improvement. Morrigan's colors are
now slightly muted, and her black outline removed as much as possible.

  Some characters now have a completely new color, including small
changes like Zangief's blue panties, to major changes such as a 
darker skinned Dahlsim, or a dark blue outfitted (and in my opinion
a much more bad ass) Haomaru.

  Other highlights include the return of Athena's proper purple hair,
Common skin colors, especially for the "Evil" characters (E.Ryu, 
O.Iroi, U.Rugal, S.Akuma), and other yummy things.


b. Color Edit Mode

  I'm using the PS2 version of the game, and I'm sure all versions are
simmilar if not exactly the same. Forgive me if there are problems with
this guide that don't correspond with other console versions.

  The colors on your TV will also affect these colors, so make sure they
don't suck ass. Luckily, as all of the character's colors are based on 
eachother, they should look fine on any TV (I have checked on a few
diffrent TVs, including with S-video).


c. How to Use this Guide

  Characters are seperated by Capcom or SNK team, starting with Capcom,
and the characters are in alphabetical order. Each character should have
15 color codes (three numbers seperated by a "."). The colors are to be
read as "Red.Green.Blue", and entered left to right.

  As many of the colors are now common between characters (eg. true
greys, blues, skin tones) thus giving a more painted cel anime look to
the characters, it is possible to figure out the colors and change them
while still keeping the characters to fit within the game.

  I hope you enjoy these color fixes, because i put a lot of wasted time
into this crap.

  If you have a better color fix send it to me, but just so you know,
I don't want any letters with blomo "cool new color pink ryu" crap. I
find custom colors (such as our friend pink ryu) a waste of time. Yeah,
that's right you heard me, no pink ryu. I only care about fixes for the
original color schemes for characters (that means white dogi ryu, red 
dogi ken. Understand ?). And don't go sending me letters pointing out
speling mastakes heer, 'cause I donut car abut them. So if you have a 
color that looks better with the other characters for... oh, let's say 
Blanka... then send that to :

  No guarantees I'll write back ^_^ Unless you are telling me that I'm
cool, and should be fixing games for a living ^_^

  Finally I wanted to thank no one. Not even the bastards who made this
great kick ass game. No, not untill they make it even better. So, do
me and yourselves (assuming you are a real hc Fighting Game fan) a
favor, and write a letter to CAPCOM and whatever the hell is left of 
SNK. Tell them to make the best game ever with NEW REDESIGNED HIGH RES 
CHARACTER SPRITES for ALL THE CHARACTERS !! Dammit !

   I'm serious, write them ! Go do it now, so I don't have to do another
one of these damn things for the next Cap vs Snk game.
