Special Thanks ============================================================ 1. Introduction ============================================================ This is my first try at writing a walkthrough, so bear with me if it's not the greatest. I would be very thankful if anyone finds any mistakes, or if you have a comment on how to make this walkthrough better. Anyway, I was given the original Evergrace a while back and really loved the game. So when I heard that a sequel was being made, I was really excited. I still find it odd that they didn't call this game Evergrace II in America... I like the many new changes that they added to Forever Kingdom though. Having three people in battle sure can help! Well, enough with my bantering, on with the walkthrough! ============================================================ 2. Basics ============================================================ Well, for those of you who read the instruction book, you probably won't need this section. But for those of you who are too lazy or rented the game and didn't get one, you might want to read this section. It is my suggestion for all new players to use the tutorial at the shop though. It will teach you all about this stuff. 2.1 - Health Because of the Soul Bind your characters share one health bar. At first this seems bad, since you can only control one character at a time. Don't worry though, your other characters will block almost every attack when you aren't controlling them. You should also learn to block with the R1 button. This will especially be crucial during some of the final bosses. You can refill your life to full at any time by using a Life Extract. These can be bought at any shop, dropped by enemies, or found. There are two ways to use them. The first is simply go to the menu and use one. The second is to use the R3 button (press down the right analog stick). The second way is the way I found works best, especially if your in the middle of a fierce battle. 2.2 - PA's & Combos Every accessory has a PA (Palmira Action) associated with it. This is the magic for the game. If you look at the bottom left corner in the accessory menu, you can see what PA an accessory has and how far your accessory is powered up. Any accessory can be powered up to level 10. Powering up your accessory will make it's PA stronger. You power up your accessories by killing monsters. One special note is that your characters don't build up accessory levels at the same rate. Faeana builds the fastest, then Ruyan, then Darius. As you fight monsters, you might notice the little green bar, the large blue bar, and a number beneath your character's icons. The little green bar shows how far your accessory is from leveling up. The blue bar shows how far the number is from going up. The number shows how any times you can use the PA for your accessory. After you use a PA the number will go down, and you have to kill more monsters to raise the number back up. Using PA's in battle is simple; just press the button that is next to the character's icon. If you want to use Darius's PA, press Triangle. It works the same for all of the other characters. You may notice that when you use the PA of the character your currently controlling on an enemy, two rings will appear around the enemy for a moment. This is your chance to do a combo. While the rings are circling the enemy, use one of the other character's PA's and they will lock on to the enemy. If done fast enough, the rings will stay around the enemy so that you can use your third character's PA. If you successfully use the PA's of all three characters in a combo, their little PA gauge will fill by one. This means, with practice, you can continue to use your PA's on an enemy forever. My best was a 32 hit combo! 2.3 - Palmira & Upgrading Equipment As you start using combos, you will notice that enemies will drop Blue and Yellow Palmira. As you explore, you may also find Red Palmira. These are used in the shop to upgrade your equipment. Palmira can be used to upgrade a stat on a piece of equipment up to +100. Blue Palmira will add 5 to your equipment's stats, Yellow Palmira will add 10, and Red Palmira will add 50. Obviously, Red Palmira is hard to come by, the main source being the Palmira Bees. They can be found by hitting parts of the scenery with your weapons. Try hitting different things like trees and rocks, you never know where you will find one. 2.4 - Fashion This system was first introduced in Evergrace, but it was pretty useless. This time though, your character's fashion is very useful. As you get and upgrade different equipment, have each of your characters talk to the shopkeeper. Try using matching stuff (eg. Meteoric Helm, Armor, Greaves), it seems to help. If you get your fashion high enough, that character will get a new fashion rating. This allows that character to get discounts while buying things. Some of my characters managed to get a 25% discount! 2.5 - Coliseums In every shop, when you talk to the shop keeper, one of the menu items is Coliseum. If you choose this option you will be taken to a small area where you will get to fight several groups of monsters, followed by a stronger monster at the end. By defeating all of the monsters in a Coliseum, you will be given a piece of equipment. Some of the most powerful things in the game are gotten in this way. Make sure you save before entering a Coliseum though, because dying in there is the same as dying anywhere else. One small note; in order to reach the final Coliseum, you must defeat each one before it. Upon finishing the last one, you will be instantly taken to the final Coliseum. Make sure you are well prepared, as fighting two Coliseums in a row is defininately not an easy thing to do. ============================================================ 3. Characters ============================================================ These are the descriptions of the characters as given in the instruction book of the game. Darius - A young man born with a mark on his right hand known as the "Crest." He is destined to join the others as one of the "Four Swordsmen of Solta." Both his father and mother, along with his childhood friend, were murdered by assassins hired by Morea. Miraculously, he was able to survive and was taken in by Ruyan's father in Seclue. His anger towards Morea resulted in his rapid development in both offensive and defensive skills as a swordsman. He trained religiously as a warrior for the sole purpose of revenge against Morea. Ruyan - A young man from Seclue who has grown up with Darius. He later becomes one of the "Four Swordsmen of Solta." He is gifted with a sword, but his personality prohibits him from hurting others. He is a good companion for Darius. As soon as he is deemed an adult, he leaves home with Darius in order to join the Solta Army, hoping to put an end to the prolonged was and restore peace to the people's lives. Faeana - A young girl that was discovered by Darius and Ruyan unconscious shortly after the "Eve of Disaster" that happened almost a year ago. She has lost her memory, remembering only her name. Faeana spends her days with Darius and Ruyan, the two that give meaning to her life and relief from her never ending nightmares. She decides to follow them on their journey, to be among friends and perhaps find out who she really is. Darsul - A magician who travels with Drumhort. He has taken a deep interest in certain documents that were discovered during his research. He is currently seeking Solca because he feels there is a direct link between her and his overall purpose. Darsul was also the one who cast the forbidden curse known as the "Soul Bind" upon Darius and his party during their travels to Solta. Drumhort - A swordsman of Solta with a piercing gaze and overwhelming presence. He is exceptionally skilled wiht a sword, but it is rumored that he can no longer use his left arm. He has doubts about the war between Solta and Morea. He is currently traveling with Darsul for some unknown purpose. Solca - A young girl who is sought after by both Darsul and Drumhort. While being chased by them she is discovered by Darius and his party on their way to Solta. Faeana encounters some strange feelings when she first meets Solca. Perhaps she holds the key to Faeana's past. Karmyla - An attractive and long-haired lady who accompanies Darsul. She carries a wealth of knowledge and wisdom. If you look beyond the beauty, into her eyes, they tell a tale of sadness. Whatever sadness this may be is known only to herself. Felk - A young man that is looking for his half-brother who disappeared a few years ago. He also will bo one of the "Four Swordsmen of Solta." He hears that his brother has been seen, so he hires Saris, a mercenary, to help track him down. Felk is the son of the current leader of the Solta army. Although he carries this responsiblity with purpose, he appears rather timid. Saris - A nomadic warrior from a foreign continent that eventually becomes of the "Four Swordsmen of Solta." He wields a great sword. Saris has the extraordiary strength to use his sword with ease and demonstrates fighting skills that are not commonly practiced on this continent. Saris is a mercenary who accepts any job, that is if the price is right. He is currently employed by Felk. During the game your main characters will be Darius, Ruyan, and Faeana. Occasionally though, you will switch to other characters temporarily. Usually, you won't have much control over these characters. You can only have them use their PA during your first time through the game. There is a way to gain control of these NPC's (Non-Playable Characters) though. See the "Bonus Game & Secrets" section below for more information. ============================================================ 4. Walkthrough ============================================================ 4.1 - Beginning This is just the opening sequence. During this you get introduced to most of the main people of the story. You will also get to see how your characters get the Soul Bind cast on them. There isn't anything to do in this part except sit back and watch. 4.2 - Forsaken Village Now this is where you get to finally get to playing the game. You start out right in front of the shop crystal, so you might want to make a save file if you still aren't used to the controls yet. You probably won't have any money quite yet, so you don't have to worry about the shop keeper. After this you should go across the bridge over the stream. There will be several monsters that appear, and this will be a good time to start getting used to fighting. Try to practice using combos, as they will come in handy later. When your finished with the monsters, turn left at the bridge and collect the Life Extract that is behind the fallen tree next to the river. Now go to the dog house that is to the south. Search the dog house, and you will get a little cut-scene where you get shown the windmill. Behind the house that the dog house there are some treasure chests if you want to grab them. Be careful though, the left chest has a red monkey that will latch on to you and poison you. If you open a chest and a red monkey comes out, quickly hit it before it gets to grab you. You should now head over to the windmill. Before you head inside, go to the left of the windmill and grab a mushroom lying on the ground. Giving this to the shopkeeper will make your next purchase half off! Over to the right of the windmill, near the crates, is a Life Extract for you to collect. Now you can go into the windmill. Inside there will be an elevator to the left. Take the elevator up and grab the Holy Gem from the chest. Before you leave the windmill try to go to the second floor and fall down to the boxes on the first floor. If you do it right, you can collect the Revive Gem. This will allow you to continue if you die, which is very good. Now that you have the Holy Gem you can go back to the area with the shop crystal. Go past the shop crystal and you will see the dog near where you originally appeared in this area. Next to the dog will be the Storage Key. You can take this and go to the area to the right of the start. Here you will find the East Storage room. Go in and grab the treasure chest. There are also some Palmira Bees if you hit the crates in here. As you continue on, you'll come to a spot where you will get ambushed by a bunch of monsters. They aren't too hard, and you should be able to finish them without too much trouble. Keep going past this area until you get to the South Storage. You can open this with the Storage Key you got near the dog. Go inside to get the Pumpkin Head from a chest. You will need to do this if you are trying to collect all of the equipment for the 100% completion at the end of the game. Now that you have done all of that, your ready to go to the next area. Go back to where the big doors near the shop crystal are, and watch the little cut-scene if you haven't all ready. Then use the Holy Gem to go through the door. (Something odd that I found is that if you're using Faeana, after the cut-scene, it is possible to make it through the door before it closes without using the Holy Gem. Kind of pointless, but worth noting.) 4.3 - Chasm of Tranquility Once you enter this area, there will be a small alcove to your left. You can go in and look at the child's drawing, which appears to be a map. You will also get a little bit of story for your three characters by doing this. After this you can go to the drawbridge and push the button to lower it. Now you can go to the other side. Don't worry about going into the tunnel on your left just yet, you will come back to it in a moment. Head across the raised area to your right and grab the treasure chest along the way. Continue on and you should see a log just past the shop crystal on your right. You can hit this log and it will move out of your way, allowing you to get the treasure chest behind it. Inside the chest is the Warehouse Key. Go back to the shop crystal and enter the door behind it. At the end of this cave you will find a large piece of ice blocking a treasure chest. Have someone use a fire PA on the ice to melt it. The treasure chest behind it has a Tear Blade inside of it. Now go back to that tunnel you passed at the beginning of the level. Work your way through the tunnel while grabbing the treasure chests along the way. At the end of the tunnel is a gate that you can use your Warehouse Key on. Go through and find the treasure chest. In it you will get a piece to one of the drawbridges. There is also a mushroom next to the exit of the tunnel that you should grab. Go back through the tunnel and across the raised area. You should see a raised drawbridge to your left. Use the part you just collected to lower the drawbridge. You can then cross the bridge and get the Giant Spoon from the chest. Go back across the bridge and continue on until you get to the next raised drawbridge. Go down the path to the right of the drawbridge and you will find another log. Hit the log and it will fall into the water. It will then float to the right and make a bridge to get over to the other side. Grab the drawbridge piece from the chest, and the Blue Palmira on the ground. Now head back to the drawbridge, use the piece to lower it, and exit the area. 4.4 - Cave of Testing When you first enter this area, stay to the left. You will come to a large room with a treasure chest in the south-west corner. Get the piece of Yellow Palmira from it, then go north. Keep to the left until you find a door. To open this door, equip Ruyan's initial weapon on him and have him hit it. It will open so that you can go in and grab the Divine Lantern. Now go back to the entrance and head to the right. You will find another room with a treasure chest containing 300 Zoe. Continue on until you find the shop crystal at the intersection. Head south at the intersection. At the end of this path, go to the east and grab the Release Emblem on the ground, then go west until you find a door. Have someone use a fire PA on the door to open it. Go in and grab the Holy Book from the chest, then head back to the shop crystal. Now go to the north. You will see a path to left. If you go down this path and into the room, you will see a treasure chest containing an Amulet of Fire. If you open the chest, a door will close you in the room and a bunch of monsters will come out. Once you've killed all of them, the door will open and you can leave the room. Now continue down the path you came from. When you get to the door, use the Holy Book and the Divine Lantern on the statues. This will open the door, and allow you to get to the next area. 4.5 - Testing Grounds This area is pretty easy, only one puzzle and a few treasures. As you head into the area, you will fight some red lizards. If you haven't bought the Pot yet, you can get it from the lizards. At the end of the area you should see a small fountain below a railing. You can sneak along the outside edge of this railing and drop down to the fountain to get another Revive Gem. Go to the west and find the small path next to the tombstones. There is a mushroom here. Now head out the door to the north of where you just got the Revive Gem. In this little area there will be two rows of torches in front of you. Go to the first one on the right, and use one of your flame PA's. It will light up all of the torches for you. Now head up the stairs and you will be at the front of a temple. Grab the treasure chest with the 800 Zoe to the left of the door. Save at the shop crystal, then go into the temple. 4.6 - Mist Shrine When you get inside, you will have to fight three large ogre monsters. Be careful, after you kill two of them, the third will power up and get faster. If you have been making sure to upgrade your equipment though, they shouldn't be too much trouble. After you kill these three, Felk will come up and there will be another cut-scene. When the cut-scene ends, Faeana will have disappeared, and Felk will join you for a while. This next part will take a while, so you should use the shop crystal to save. While you are here, grab the treasure that is to the left, an Antidote, and right, 800 Zoe, of the stairs. After this, go through to the next room until you get to the gate. You will get a little cut-scene of the door locking. You will now need to find a way to activate the switch on the ground beneath you. First, go to the room on the right and collect the two treasure chests with 500 Zoe. Then go back to the left room. Continue along this path until you can't go any farther. You will have to drop down to the floor below you. There is a treasure chest to the north of where you dropped down that has an Antidote inside of it. Now go south and collect the Release Emblem and Yellow Palmira in the treasure chests. Now return to where you fell down earlier, and go west. In the room that is to the south you will find a hint to a puzzle you will get to in the next area. You should head north to a stairway. Under the stairs is a treasure chest with a Red Palmira inside. Collect it and go up the stairs. In this room above the stairs, go along the small ledge and get the Mushroom in the south-west corner. Go back and go east. Head down the stairs and collect the treasure chest to the north; it has a Revive Gem inside of it. Now go to the room to the east. In this room there are nine treasure chests. Most of these are empty, but the one in the middle of the north row has a white demon inside. Make sure you block when you see one of these. The treasure chests in the middle of the middle row, and the one on the east end of the south row each have 1500 Zoe in them. Now that you're done with these chests, head south. When you come to the junction, go to the north to see some more of the storyline. Once you are done with that go south. You will come to another room with nine treasure chests. None of these chests has any treasure in them, but there is a red monkey in the east chest of the northern row, and a white demon in the west chest of the middle row. When you are done in this room, go west and activate the switch on the ground to unlock the door. You can then use the elevator next to you to go up to the door. You might want to go back to the shop crystal and save before continuing. When you are ready, go through the door you just unlocked in to the next room. There is a chest along the east wall with a red monkey in it, so you probably won't want to mess with it. Keep going north and you will enter a room with a bunch of mirrors and beams of light. The objective here is to aim the beams of light at the foggy spots so that you can get to the rooms behind. This isn't a hard puzzle to figure out, so you should just do it however you like. In the southeast room there is a treasure chest with a white demon in it. The northwest room is empty. In the other two rooms there are switches. If you activate them, you will be given access to a way out to the left and right of the mirror room. If you go west you will come across a door covered in fire. If the character you are controlling has fire armor equipped when you examine the door, it will open. Inside is a treasure chest with a Revive Gem in it. If you go east from the mirror room, you will find a similar door of lightning. Use lightning armor to open it and find a chest with an Ice Amulet inside. Once you have finished collecting treasure, continue on and exit the area. 4.7 - Shrine Halls I bet your glad to finally be back under some sky, aren't you? Well, this area isn't as long as the last, but it does have it's sticky spots. When you enter the area, go forward and take the first turn to the south. Back in this area are three treasure chests to plunder. When you are done here, back to where you turned south, then go east. Take the turn to the north that you see, then head northeast. This should put you next to the shop crystal. Now turn around and go down the hall that the shop crystal is in. You will come to a part where spears are coming out of the walls. If you time it right, you should be able to get through without being hit. If you do get hit, don't worry, the spears don't hurt you much. Grab the treasure at the end of the spears and continue past the second set. There will be some treasure chests in front of you. If you try to walk up to these, some big fat purple guys will appear. You might notice that when you kill them, the little guy riding on their backs will jump off and run. You should try to kill them; they will drop the Stormwalker Armor. After you get the treasure, turn right and continue on. In this long hall, you will see a monster that looks like a green dog. This is the monster that drops Cream's Figure. Keep going, while grabbing the treasure along the way. You will eventually come to a place where you can go left or right. Go to the left and keep going until you find a fountain. This fountain will restore your health and charge your PA's to full. While you are here, grab the Mushroom on the ground to the left of the fountain. Now go back to where you turned left before, and take the other path. You will quickly come to find a HUGE yellow ogre. You will probably want to keep clear of it, as it will kill you. You might be strong enough to kill it in a Bonus Game though. It will drop the Skull Mask. To get past it, wait for it to pass by, then run straight across the area. You will find a small room with the Volt Helm in a treasure chest. Now wait for the ogre to pass by again, and run to the north. There is a small place to hide with a door in it. Make sure all of your characters can still use PA's. If they can't, go back to the fountain, recharge them, and make it back to the door. Go through the door, and you will see a large purple obelisk in the middle of a room. Many people complain about this puzzle, but if you have been practicing your combos, it won't be hard. You need to use fire, ice, and lightning PA's in a combo, in that order. When you accomplish this, the door in the back will open and you leave the area. You will then get some cut-scenes before going to the next area. 4.8 - Shrine Courtyard At the beginning of this area there are four treasure chests. The two on the right each have 1000 Zoe, and the two on the left have an Orb of Atonement and a Calming Fruit. You will want to save here also because you have a boss fight coming up. When you are finished, go inside the building. Right after entering, go to the left and get the Mushroom in the corner. Continue going north and eventually you will come to a room where you will see another cut-scene. After this your party will be split into two in order to fight some monsters. The first group to fight will be Darius and Faeana. You will be fighting three large red slimes. The trick here is that only one of them is the one you need to fight. Keep fighting them until you find the one that takes damage. Once it is dead, you will switch over to Ruyan and Felk. They have to fight an odd plant monster. This isn't a hard fight, just be careful of when the monster jumps on your head. When it does, have your other character use their PA to knock it off of you. Keep up with it and it will go down pretty quickly. Once this is done, your party will be reunited and you will exit this area. After watching some more cut-scenes, the next area will start. 4.9 - Buried Cavern You will start this area right next to a shop crystal. Now would be a VERY good time to save and stock up on Life Extracts and Orbs of Atonement, you will need them. When you are done shopping, go through the door to the east. Keep going east until you find the room with the giant worm. You will not be able to kill it right now (but it can kill you easily), so quickly escape through the north door in this room. From here, go to the west until you come to an intersection. Go north here. Keep going past the next intersection, then go west through a door. There is a chest with 800 Zoe inside. Now return to the intersection that you just passed and head west. You will find a blue cyclone in the middle of the room. Walk into it. It will teleport you to another area of the cavern. Proceed to the south from here until you reach a door with a symbol on it. Have any character with a sword hit the door and it will open. Go inside and deactivate the glowing device. Now go north and head east at the nearest intersection. Continue until you find a green cyclone to go through. When you reappear, go south through the door, then go west. After this you can follow a long path to the south. At the end of the path you will find the Axe of Slaying. Now head back up the path as far north as you can go. You should find a yellow cyclone to go through. Upon reappearing, grab the chest in this area and go north. When you reach the intersection, head west. At the next junction you reach, go south. You will find an intersection with Life Extracts down the east and west paths. After collecting them, continue going south, then turn east at the junction. Go through the door and through the green cyclone on the other side. In the next area go up to the door and use an ice PA to open the door to the north. Go in the door and through the yellow cyclone. When you come out, you will be in front of the second glowing device. Deactivate this, then activate the switch behind it. This will make many of the obstacles in the cavern go away. Go east, then turn south and you will be back in the room with the worm. This time it is far more managable though. You should be able to kill it quickly. When it is dead, go through the door to the east. Follow this path to the elevator and finally escape this area! 4.10 - Canyon of Defile Yes, this is the area with the best equipment building spot in the game! If you want to know how to do it, read about it below. It's a pretty straight-forward area with not many side paths really, so you should breeze through this area. The only thing you will have to worry about is at the end. When you get to the part where you see cliffs on the left, there are many different spots to drop down and grab treasure chests. Make sure you keep coming back until you drop down and get everything. One of the items you get is the Toy Box Key, which you will need in the next area. 4.11 - Land of the Dead At the beginning of this area, there will be a shop crystal to your right. If you have the time, and patience, I suggest that you stay here and use the Equipment Building Trick to build all of your equipment up to max. You will be able to get to the end of the game with what you have got now if you do! Anyway, continuing on; when you enter the area there are two treasure chests and a piece of Blue Palmira on the ground. All the way to the left, there are two Life Extracts on the ground. There are also a couple of items at the base of the really big tree. After this continue on to the west across the bridge. There will be a side path to the south where you can go to grab the Earthstone Greaves. Now continue on to the northwest and grab the Revive Gem in the middle of the swamp area. Keep going until you find a cave. Inside the cave you will find the toy box that your key goes to. After you have the toy head to the southwest. There is another side path to the south, so go up there and collect the Earthly Armor. Now you can continue on to the west. Here you will find a barrier across a cave opening. When you go up to the barrier you will use the toy to open the barrier and continue on to the next area. You will then get some more story sequences before you get taken to the Lake of Dreams. 4.12 - Lake of Dreams Ahh, I love these small, simple areas! Well, there is not much to this area. From the entrance, head to your right and out to the shop crystal. Continue out past the shop crystal and use Faeana to examine the little monument. There will be a cut-scene where you will see two little lights go over to a gate across a cave. Go over to the gate with Faeana in the lead and it will unlock. Go inside and collect all the treasures. Once your done in the cave, head to the right of the entrance. You will see Felk and Saris waiting on a dock, next to a boat. Go up to them and you will see a cut-scene. After the cut-scene you will go to the Palace. 4.13 - Palace If you are trying to collect 100% of the equipment, make sure you get the Maracas from the cloak magicians, and the Avenger from the floating heads while you are exploring the Palace. Now you are ready to explore. After checking out the shop crystal in the beginning of this area, head to the west. You'll find an elevator that will take you to the second floor. Head to the east and collect the three treasure chests in the next room. Keep going east and you will see another cut-scene in the next room. After this, go to the south, collect the Burning Axe from a chest, then return to where the cut-scene was. From here go east. There is another room with three treasure chests in it. As you try to go to the east again, the door will close and some monsters will pop out. Kill them to open the door. After this, continue on and go down the elevator to the first floor. Get the Treasure Ball that is in the chest down here, then return to the waterfall you passed on the second floor. Place the Treasure Ball in the device next to the waterfall. Now return to the room with the shop on the first floor. The waterfall here is now stopped allowing you to exit this room to the north. Go through the door, then head east. There are three more chests in this room to collect. When you are done with that, keep going east. There will be another elevator here for you to take up to the second floor. Go west after going up the elevator. Keep going west until you come to a room with another shop crystal in it. After checking the shop out, go south. Go through the door in the west wall. You will come out in a library. There are many chests in here, but the only one worth getting is the one with 5000 Zoe in the northwest corner. The others only have demons or are empty. Go west some more, and you will find an elevator to go down. Go down, and follow the path around to another elevator going up. Go up, and get the Sister's Medal from the chest. Now, return to the room before the library. Go to the southern part of the room and go through the door in the east wall. Go through the door and find the elevator to the west. Follow along this path and you will find another elevator to take to the second floor. In this area you will find a chest with another Sister's Medal to collect. Get it, then collect the 2500 Zoe next to the elevator. Now go all the way back to the room with the shop crystal in it. Go to the room to the east of where the shop crystal is. Along the northern wall is a place to put the Sister's Medals. Do this, then return to the west. Now go to the north into the King's Throne. 4.14 - King's Throne Upon entering this area there will be a shop crystal to your left, not that you should really need it with there being one in the room before this. But you should still check it out in case there are some items you haven't gotten. When you are finished with the shop you have a choice to make. If you go through the door to the north, you can see some more cut-scenes, and fight a pretty weak boss. The boss will drop the Defiance, but there is another one in this area if you don't feel like fighting. It doesn't affect the game any if choose not to fight, so don't worry too much about it. After you have (or haven't) finished with that, equip Faeana with the Winter's Fury and have her examine the west statue. It will make a path for you to the west. Go north along that path. You will find yet another room with three chests in it. When you are done here, go north again. There is a room with a mirror on the west side of the room. What you will need to do with this mirror is equip Darius with the Burning Axe, Faeana with the Winter's Fury, and Ruyan with the Earthly Pike. Do this then examine the mirror. It will shatter, allowing you access to a chest with the Emporer's Staff. After collecting this, go up the stairs to the east and collect the Tree Ring. Now return to the room with the statues. Equip Darius with the Burning Axe and have him examine the statue to the east. It will open up another path for you. Go north along the path to find your last room with three treasure chests in this area. Keep going north past this and you will find another mirror. To shatter this one you will need to equip Darius with lightning armor, boots, and helmet. Also give Faeana ice equipment and Ruyan earth equipment. Do all of this, then examine the mirror. It will shatter, giving you access to the Defiance behind it. Now head to the west, then north. Place the Emporer's Staff in the place on the ground. It will make it so that you can walk across to the exit. 4.15 - Hall of Memories This is a small area that is just here for a boss fight. You should save at the shop crystal, then go through the door. You will be fighting against a two-headed fire and ice bull. Obviously you won't want to use any fire or ice weapons or abilities, as they will just heal it. This isn't a hard battle, just make sure you keep blocking. If he attacks too fast for you to stop blocking, have one of your other characters use a PA on it to stop it. Once you hit it enough, it will jump up on to ledges on the walls. It will try to shoot ice at you, but this is easy to block. Be careful when it jumps back down. Try to be as far away as you can or it might Guard Break you. Keep up, and it won't live very long. If you were not able to get the Solta Armor earlier, this boss will drop it. If you don't get it the first time, just re-load your save file and try again. Once all of this is done, you will see a bunch more story sequences before going to the Ruins of Frost. 4.16 - Ruins of Frost This area really isn't too hard, but it's kind of confusing. It's built like a maze, and you can get lost if you are not watching your map. Anyway go south from the start and keep going south until you reach a dead end. There will be a chest with 7000 Zoe here. Now return to the turn off you just passed and go west. From this large room go south. Turn west when you get the chance, and go collect Winter's Breastplate. Now return and go farther south. You will enter a room with a treasure chest inside of some energy beams. To turn them off, use a fire PA on one of the pillars at the four corners. The treasure chest has a Red Palmira inside of it. Now go west and get the Winter's Tiara. Now go all the way back to the north. You should find another chest with 5000 Zoe inside some beams. Go south now, and turn west the first chance you get. Continue down this path until you get to the Icy Room. This room will drain your health from you, so you will need to be quick. Hurry to the opening in the west wall. Down this path you will find the Frozen Crystal. Use a fire PA on it, and it will deactivate, stopping your health from draining away. Now go to the north end of the Icy Room. There is a treasure chest with the Fire Stone in it that you should collect. Now go back out to where you turned to go to the Icy Room. Go south from here. Go west at the next junction. You will find a door covered in ice. You need to use the Fire Stone on it. Once you are rid of the ice, go through the door. There is another chest behind the ice beams here. Get in and collect the 3000 Zoe from this chest. Now, you will need to choose a character that you think is strong enough to make it on their own for a while. When you have done this, go south, then west. Keep going west until you come to a treasure chest at the end of a narrow room. When you walk up to it, the two characters that you aren't controlling will be taken away by a monster. If you chose a character that was strong enough to survive on their own for a while before this happens though, you will be fine. Go back out of this room, and go south. Take the next south turn you see again. There is a Frostlich for you to collect down this hall. Go back to where you turned south, and go west this time. Keep following this path. Along the way you will see some monsters frozen in ice. I've never found any good reason to free them, but if you want to just use a fire PA on the ice. Anyway, keep going north past the frozen monsters and you will eventually come to the place where your other characters are. They are being held by some hanging plants. If you use a wide area PA, you should be able to hit the plants holding them and release them. Then proceed to kill all of the plants in the room. When this is done, get the Destruction Orb out of the treasure chest in the southwest corner of the room. Return all the way to where you opened the door covered in ice and go south. Use the Destruction Orb on the door here and you can leave this area. 4.17 - Ruins of Fire When you enter this area, you won't have the luxury of having a shop crystal next to you this time, so try not to get in over your head. This area is pretty similar to the last, except with fire instead of ice. There are also more treasure chests behind beams, but this time you will need to use an ice PA to get to them. One more thing, you will probably see some fire birds at some point; these are what drop the Dragolos Boots for you. Now, from the start go south. When you come to the junction, go east. Also go east at the next junction you find. Keep going this way until you find a chest behind fire beams. This chest has a Revive Gem inside of it. Collect it and go west to find a chest with Scorched Armor in it. Return where you turned east last time, and go south now. Go west at the next turn, then north at the next. In here you will find the shop crystal. This is a good time to restock yourself if you need anything. When you are done here, go west from where you turned to go to the shop crystal, then go north. Enter the door that you will see on your left. Follow this path and you will find the Fiery Room. This is just like the Icy Room, so quickly go to the opening in the west wall and find the Fire Crystal. Use an ice PA on this to stop your life from being drained away. Now go to northern part of the Fiery Room and get the Ice Stone. Once you have done all of this, go back to where you turn to go to the shop. Go farther to the east and turn south to find the door to use the Ice Stone on. Use it and go through. You will enter a room with another chest behind fire beams. This chest contains the Lavawalker Armor. Get this then go south and get the Scorched Turban from the chest that you find. Return to where you got the Lavawalker Armor and go through the door to the north. In the room here, there are three statues surrounding a treasure chest in the middle. To get past the beams blocking the chest you will need to give one person a sword, one person an axe, and one person a spear. Then have each person quickly examine each statue with the weapon they have equipped. If you don't do it quickly enough though, you will have to start over. When you finally get through, open the chest to get the Orb of Guiding. Now go back to where the turn to the shop crystal is. Go west, then as far north as you can. In this area there are some trees blocking the exit. Use the Orb of Guiding on them and they will move out of the way. Get the Red Palmira out of the chest to your left and exit the area. 4.18 - Garden of Harmony This area is only here for one thing...a painful boss battle. Well, at least there is a shop crystal at the entrance of the area! Make sure you use it to stock up on Life Extracts, and to save. When your done, head into the next room where a small cut-scene will play. When that is over with, you get to fight Solca. She is not easy either! She will summon large groups of monsters to help her, she has attacks that can take most of your health, and she is immune to all elemental attacks. Obviously you will want to stay away from the monsters she summons, but don't worry about killing them. After a short while, she will make them all explode like bombs, then Solca will summon more to take their place. While this is happening, Solca will shoot ice blasts at you and run away. Also, be careful when she teleports. When she appears right next to you, try to get out of the way if you can; otherwise block. She will try to do a very strong attack that can take most of your health! The only tactic I can really give is to keep up with her and attack with a non-earth weapon. Also, cure if you get to about half your health, just to be on the safe side. Keep up with this until Solca dies. You will get a longer sequence of cut-scenes this time. When its over with, you will be put at the entrance of the Endless Waterfall. 4.19 - Endless Waterfall This is another of those pretty easy areas. The only problem is deciding which cliffs to come down from. You should go down to the statue at the bottom of the cliffs and examine it to come back up. Make sure you collect all of the treasure on the cliffs; especially the Revive Gem and the Axe of Strategy. While your here, those little bats are what will drop the Dragolos Armor for you. You can find two of the bats to the far west of the area at the top, and another near where you find the Axe of Strategy. Be warned though, it took me quite some time to get the armor. You might have better luck though. Also, down at the bottom, in the northeast part, you can find a Mushroom hidden behind a part of the cliff. When you are ready to go on, equip the Axe of Strategy, and go to the statue that sends you back up the cliff. It will now open the door to the next area. 4.20 - Misty Cavern You will start this area right next to a shop crystal. If you need it, use it. After you are done with it, go south. You will come across a door that is missing two stones. Don't worry about this for right now, but collect the Mushroom next to it. Head south, then when you come to the fork, go southwest. You will come to a room with four colored torches in the middle. Remember what color each one is. When you are ready, stand on the small platform to the north of the torches. This will extinguish them. First use a fire PA to light the blue and red torches. This will make a treasure chest appear on the altar at the back of the room. Collect the Red-Blue Stone, then put the flames back out. Now light the yellow and green torches. Another chest with the Yellow-Green Stone in it will appear. Make sure you don't light the wrong torches while doing this though, as the door will close, and several monsters will attack. After collecting both stones leave the room and go north, then east. You will find another door like you saw earlier (you probably even saw it on the way by). Use the Red-Blue Stone on it and it will open. Go through and take the south path. Down here you will find the Light Grail. If you go back to the north, you will find a pool of water. If you walk out into the water, instead of falling in, your health will be restored! Now return to the first door that you saw after entering the Misty Cavern. Use the Yellow-Green Stone on the door, and go through. Keep going down this path until you come to a junction. Up the north path you will find a Yellow Palmira in a chest. Down the south path is the Shadow Grail. Once you have collected these go back to where the fork that leads to the flame altar is. This time take the other path. Go through the door that you find. Just inside this door, there is a Calming Fruit on the ground, to the left. Collect it, then place the two grails in the statues' hands. This will make the door in the back open so that you can leave. 4.21 - Hall of Wandering When you enter this area, there will be a shop crystal right next to you. Get what you need here, then go through the door. You will see a cut-scene with Saris and Felk. After this finishes, your party will be split in two. Which of the next two areas you do first depends on who you were controlling before the story sequence. 4.22 - City of Lost Hope This is a very simple area. If you stay on the ground level, you can head straight to the exit. You can go and explore around if you want, there are some chests with money and one chest has a Red Palmira, but you really don't need to. Your only enemies in this area will be dolls that you will see lying on the ground. They will get up from the ground and try to attack you, but they don't put up much of a fight. One thing to look for in this area is a shop crystal. You will definately want to use it, as you have an annoying boss fight coming up. When you are through with this area, go through the exit on the ground level. You will enter a room where you have to fight an odd boss made of two floating hands and a lady. Try to stay away from the hands, they will grab you and drain your life until your other character attacks it and frees you. Don't attack the hands either. If you kill one, the lady will start using Summon Tree on you, and then resurrect the hand. Just try to focus your assaults on the lady. She is obviously weak against lightning, so use it if you have it. Once you kill her, the hands will die also. After you are done with that, head up the stairs and through the door. 4.23 - City of Hope You use Ruyan and Faeana to get to the switch in this part of the area. This area is pretty much the same as Darius and Saris' area. It's not that hard, and again, your only enemies are the dolls. Also if you stay on the ground level again, it's a straight path to the end.
But this time you will definately want to explore around! It's in this
area that you will find the Cheltosa Fang. This is the best weapon in
the game for Faeana! You will want to upgrade this to full as soon as
you can. After your done exploring, head through the exit door on
the ground level. You will go into a room where you have to fight a
group of dolls. This is pretty easy, just don't let the dolls attack
you from the sides or from behind while you are attacking something
else. After you have killed them, go up the stairs and through the door
to see a cut-scene.

4.24 - Hall of Wandering
Once the cut-scenes have ended, you will be given the Factory Key. Use
this to exit the room. In this next room, there are four treasure
chests. Two of them have 1000 Zoe, one has a Yellow Palmira, and one
has a Mushroom inside. Collect all of these then exit the area.

4.25 - Hall of the Banished
Use the shop crystal here to save, then continue on to start the fight
against Karmyla. Her tactics are pretty easy to anticipate, and with
the right equipment, this is a simple battle. When the battle starts,
Karmyla will try to teleport behind you. If you simply don't push any
directions while she is doing this, your character will actually track
where she moves! When the little symbol appears on the ground, she is
about to reappear. This is your chance to strike. Use a long weapon, so
that after she reappears you don't get hit by the energy around her. You
will only have a split second after she appears to hit her, so be quick.
If you don't hit her she will fire a fireball at you. Just keep going
and you should be able to finish her. Once she is dead, you will see
some more story scenes, then you will be put at the entrance to the
Forgotten Valley.

4.26 - Forgotten Valley
This area is very annoying! The enemies here are quite strong, and
there are several difficult puzzles. While you are fighting the
monsters, try to get Quano's Axe from the floating blades, and the
Pointing Rod from the cloak magicians. Now, from where you start, go
south to the shop crystal for this area. Make sure that you are
fully stocked up on Life Extract, you will probably need them. When
you finish at the shop go west. Keep going this way until you see a
raised path in front of you. Go west across this raised path, then
turn north when you get the chance. Keep going north and you will see
a gate. Go through the gate to find your first puzzle for this area.
What you will need to do is equip one person with earth armor, helmet,
and boots, one person with fire equipment, and one with ice. Do all
this, then try to open the chest. The flame should go away, giving you
access to the Fire Icon. When you are done here, leave this room and go
west, then south. Keep going south until you find a junction in the
path. From here go south, then west. Go down this path until you find
a gate to go through. Go in and you will see a circle on the ground to
your left. When you stand on this circle, a small orb will pop out of
the ground. To solve this puzzle, you need all three of your characters
to shoot an energy PA at the orb, and hit it, before it goes back into
the ground. This can be quite difficult, but not impossible. When you
accomplish this feat, a barrier will vanish, allowing you to collect
the Symbol of Earth. After getting this, return to where you turned to
come to this puzzle. From here head east, then north. Take the first
path to the east that you find. Keep going past this big open area, but
remember it for later. After crossing through this area, take the path
south that you find. This will lead you to the Flame Spear Warriors. In
order to get them to move so that you can get the chest, your characters
will need to be equipped with fire, ice, and lightning spears. Try
giving Darius the Pointing Rod, Ruyan the Skyfury Pike, and Faeana the
Vindicator. You could also give Darius the Umbrella, Ruyan the Storm
Slayer, and Faeana the Skyfury Pike. How you do it is up to you. There
is an Ice Ring in the chest that they are guarding. Now go back to where
you turned down to the Flame Spear Warriors, and go east. Go through the
bigger open area to the north, then turn to the east after passing
through. Keep going until you come to another gate. Pass through and you
will see a long patch full of white goo with a treasure chest at the end.
Instead of walking through the goo, which will hurt you, hit the wall
next to the gate you just came through. It will explode, making a path
for you to go around to the treasure chest. Inside is a Lightning Icon.
Now go back to that open area I told you to remember earlier. From here
go south. Keep going south until you reach the area with four large
statues. If you hit them your weapon they will open up, revealing an
element inside. You need to hit them with the opposite element before
they close in order to solve this puzzle. When you do this to all four
statues, the door out of this area will open. Go through to the
Sanctuary.

4.27 - Sanctuary
Here we go, this is your last area. When you enter the area, you will
be in a large circular open area. You will see a cut-scene where
Darsul and Drumhort continue on. There are doors on the left and
right of the entrance. Which one you go through, is up to you. After
you enter each of the doors, you will be in small hallway where
you have to kill the monsters in the hallway and make the floor rise
up. Make sure your on the part of the floor that rises up, or else
you will have to go out and come back in. When you get to the second
floor, you will find four rooms (two on each side) with bells. Each
bell represents an element. You need to use an opposite element PA,
to activate the bell. While your on the second floor, don't forget to
grab the treasures in the middle. Once you activate all four bells,
the path to Darsul and Drumhort will open. This will be your last
chance to save, so make sure you take this opportunity. If you have
any equipment left to upgrade, or accessories to level up, do it now.
You can go back to the Forgotten Valley to do so if you need to.
Darsul and Drumhort are very hard to defeat, so make sure your ready.

4.28 - Final Bosses
When you enter the area, you will get another little cut-scene with
Darsul and Drumhort. Then comes the hardest part in the game.
Defeating Darsul and Drumhort will be impossible if you are not
properly prepared. During the battle, Drumhort will constantly rush
you and use his very powerful attacks. This would be deadly on its
own, but you also have to deal with Darsul. He will keep firing
magic at you while creating a barrier that will keep you trapped for
Drumhort. At the same time there is a large floating monster that
will fire a large beam at you if you get too close. Also, Darsul will
revive the monster if you kill it. Seem like an impossible challenge
yet? You should be stocked full on Life Extracts, and hopefully you
will also have some Revive Gems left. The best way I found to defeat
them is to choose Ruyan as your control character, and give him a
weapon that can absorb health. Now, give one of your other characters
an accessory that has an ice PA. Give your other character the
strongest PA you have. I don't really have to tell you to use your
best armor, do I? You will want to take on Drumhort first, as he
will kill you the fastest. Now stay as far away from the floating
monster as you can and wait for Drumhort to rush at you. What you
should do now is use Ruyan and continuously block. His special
ability will keep you from dying too fast. When Drumhort rushes at
you, have the character with the ice PA use it on him. He seems to be
weak against ice. Try to get your other character to hit him as well
if you can. If you see an opening hit him with Ruyan, but try not to
get hit while not blocking. If you keep this up, Drumhort should die
before too long. That will make this battle infinately easier. Keep
using Ruyan at this point and try to hit Darsul with physical
attacks. Blocking Darsul's attacks with Ruyan will actually heal you
at this point, so you should be okay on health. One good strategy is
to kill the floating monster now. Without Drumhort to distract you,
you can hit Darsul as he revives the monster. Weapons with a health
restore will also help. Keep it up and Darsul will go down pretty
easily.

Just when it looks like everything is over, there is more. You will
get a cut-scene where Solca and Karmyla come back. Then you get to
fight them. Don't worry though, this battle is really quite easy.
Just keep up with Ruyan blocking and using a weapon that absorbs
health. You can beat them up, but that is not your real goal. You
will see an orb floating under the ground. That is what you need to
kill. If you kill Solca and Karmyla, the orb will come above the
ground for a short while for you to hit. Then it will revive both
Solca and Karmyla. There is any easy way to finish the battle though.
If you got the Lightning Icon back in the Forgotten Valley, and
powered it up to level 10, you will find that it's PA is a giant
sphere that will extend above and below ground. If you aim it right,
you can hit the orb while it's still underground. This will end the
battle pretty quickly. After you finish off the orb, you get to sit
back and watch the ending...

                  5. Bonus Game & Secrets
============================================================
5.1 - Bonus Game
Once you have beaten the game, don't rush to turn it off
before the credits are done! Instead, wait and you will be able
to see what percentage of the equipment you collected, and
you will get to save your game. Now when you go to the title
screen, you can use the Bonus Game option to load the file you
saved after the ending. This will allow you to play the game
again, with some changes.

-You start the game with all of the equipment that you had at
the end of the game before. The equipment also keeps all of
the upgrades you gave it. It makes things a lot easier.

-You now can control NPC's when they join you. Not as useful,
but better than watching them just block everthing.

-There are no longer any restrictions on what equipment your
characters can use. Give anyone whatever your want now.

-Probably the most annoying thing in a bonus game is that the
Palmira Bees won't drop Red Palmira every time anymore. This
is very aggravating if you are trying to build up all of the
equipment that you got in your previous game.

-When you go into a shop, you will be able to go to the
Coliseum as many times as you want, even if you beat it. If
you play through each different Coliseum, instead of
receiving the Moonlight Sword in the last one, you will get
the final accessory, the Moon Fragment.

5.2 - 100% Completion
Now, if you get every piece of equipment in the game (you will
know you have it if you look at the list from the title
screen), you will get a 100% completion at the end of the
game. If you want to attempt to do this, you should get into a
habit of staying in an area until you buy all of the equipment
available at the shop there. You will not be able to get every
item on your first time through the game, because you have to
play a Bonus Game to get the Moon Fragment. Anyway, if you do
this, you will unlock a few pieces of artwork at the main menu.
It's a pretty lame reward for all of the hard work in my opinion.

5.3 - Equipment Upgrade Trick
At the end of the Canyon of Defile, there is an open area with
some trees, and cliffs to the south. One of the trees in the open
area has a Palmira Bee in it, so get it to come out and kill it.
It will drop a piece of Red Palmira. Now, drop off of the cliffs.
The second to last tree before you go into the Land of the Dead
will have another Palmira Bee in it. Go into the Land of the Dead
and go to the left. There is a dead tree on the edge of the cliff
with another Palmira Bee. Now, just to the west of the tree is a
group of boulders. One of the boulders has another Palmira Bee.
Now, by going back out of the area, into the Canyon of Defile,
you will reset all of the bees. So go ahead and kill them all
again! You can get a ton of Red Palmira this way; more than
enough to max out all of your equipment!

============================================================
                     7. Equipment List
============================================================
This is the name, description, and location of every piece of
equipment in the game. If you are trying to get 100%
completion of the game, you will need to collect all of these.
Some of the equipment isn't dropped by monsters very often
(it took three hours for me to get the Dragolos Armor!), so
just be patient and stick with it. They will drop it eventually.

NOTE: All stats are from items that haven't been upgraded
yet.

im superior - Well, basically without him, this walkthrough
never would have been written. He got me past the "Item
List sitting on my desktop" phase.

everyone on the GameFAQs message boards - I got tons of great
info from there, I just wish I could remember who said
what... This is where I learned the Equipment Building
Trick, but I don't remember who posted it first...
Well, thanks to everyone who gave information there!
