FAQs VIII. Credits *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- * Introduction - *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- Hey! Gyl here again. Anyway I'm back as to bring you a very sweet boxing game guide known as Victorious Boxers. From comics to anime series to its own video game, surely our hero Ippo Makunouchi has really shone a lot. If you're an avid boxing fan this is surely a game for you. A game that features no life bar or stamina gauges, no super skills or anything in between it, plainly boxing. Anyway the walkthrough isn't designed as to how you should fight since I know most people have their own boxing styles, I'll merely tell you what that opponent's main weakness/spot is as you could hit him and still maintain your own style of fighting. I could say I'm an average player as proclaiming myslef as a master here isn't actually very appropriate. Anyway let's run down with the stuffs but before that if you've seen the past 2 guides that I made this one has a completely different style anyway just wanna tell you guys about that crap hehehe... if somehow I managed to just copy this format on anyone's guide then I'm extremely sorry as I don't have any Idea that you have a format like this anyway let's just cut the craps and let's get on with the show. *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* * Updates/Revisions * *-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-* April 29, 2003 (04.29.03) <10:04 AM> Version 0.9 ------------------------------------------------ The guide is born and hopefully get as much contribution it needed to be the best there is. Anyway Versio 0.9 is all about skeletal parts of the guide and basically be a comprehensive one later on. May 1, 2003 (05.01.03) <8:23 AM> Final Version ---------------------------------------------- Okay, finally getting this guide up I'm definitely set for more review and hopefully not a lot since I'm going to complete everything as soon as possible. I guess the walkthrough is now complete and I've arranged some minor typos and mispelled words so perhaps that's about all of it. Though submissions are still accepted. May 7, 2003 (05.07.03) <8:37 AM> Just a Quick Update ---------------------------------------------------- I've declared the guide's last update but then again just to post the list of website you could view this guide. I'ts listed just below the disclaimer so go have a look. If the sire you've viewed this isn't on the list then just report them to me and we'll make the move. *-*-*-*-*-*-*-* * Game Basics * *-*-*-*-*-*-*-* *- -* *- Game Menu -* *- -* Title Screen: Story Mode - A list of story mode characters starting from Ippo's very start. This mode is not just a series of boxing matches but has storylines as well. VS. Mode - Either go up against a Computer or Beat the hell out of another player. Player Data - This option shows you informations about a beaten opponent and the number of Wins/Lost/KOs/Draws/Win%/Lose% and a few more things. You could also view saved replays here. Options - Under the Option are other selections like: Controller Setting - Let you customize your controls the way you like Save/Load - If Autoload/save ins't activate it here's a place to manually do all those things. Sound Setting - An option that deals with the sounds of the game. In-Game Menu: Special Moves - Shows you all possible special punches taht you could throw. Controller Stup - Let you customize the controls. Camera View - Customize the view of the camera you like, choose from 18 kinds. Resume - Resume bout. *- -* *- Game Controls -* *- -* _____ _____ |L1,L2| |R1,R2| /-------\ /-------\ / _ \____________/ \ | _| |_ ___ ___ T | | |_ _| |Sel| |Str| S O | | |_| __ __ X | \ / \ / \ / \ |LAS |----|RAS | / \ / \__/ \__/ \ / \___/ \___/ This is a default setting: L2 - Technique L1 - Special D-Pad - None left analog stick - Normal Triangle button - Right Straight Square button - Left Straight X button - Left Hook Circle Button - Right Hook right anaog stick - None R1 - Special R2 - Technique Technique + L/R Staight/Hook - Normal Uppercut *- -* *- Sway/Step -* *- -* There's this command that isn't set in the default keys. This keys would either allow you to sway or duck/dive punches while holding that button or simply the other way around. I personally would either replace one Technique button (L2 to be exact) as Sway to activate it quickly. Anyway here are the basics stuffs about them. Also, you could only choose between Step or Sway key. Sway - Gives you the ability to duck or dive punches completely evading them or blocking it. With it you have to press the sway button + Left analog stick to dodge/sway. Sway + Down - Back the whole body away without moving. Sway + Up - Duck/Dive down low Sway + Left/Right - Dive in that direction Sway + Up Left/Right - Duck on either direction so a follow up punch would be easy. Sway + Down Left/Right - Back off in either direction as it'll be easier to send counter punch in precise directions. Step - With it you have to press the step button to be able to move around. The Left analog stick now serves as your sway meaning you don't have to press the sway key to dodge though you still have to press the step key to move in the ring. Step + Up - Walk to the opponent Step + Down - Back off from the opponent Step + Left/Right - move to that direction. Step + Up Left/Right - Move to the opponent in the chosen direction Step + Down Left/Right - Move away in the chosen direction. *- -* *- Combinations -* *- -* Combinations are easily created in Victorious Boxers though it's quite hard to sting successful ones. I've quite comeup with a fairly decent number of combinatins. Anyway here are what I found out so far but be reminded that combinations works very different against every enemy as they have their own ways. Anyway you could send in your own personal combinations just be reminded that this part only accepts attack string that has no special punches but other similar things or accepted anyway and perhaps be under the certain Boxer's section. Combo # 1 Start out with the Jabs. Keep on beating an opponent till you connect on atleast two then quickly follow a simply left and right hook. This simply string mostly could follow up to special attacks and is well when you'll be fighting head on. Combo # 2 This one is rather tough but is quite effective. My combo # 2 is designed for dodging then counter attacking. Start off by being close to the opponent then dodge down. There you start punching him with a left right combination and simply watch him punch. If he goes left then punch him with a hook or uppercut on the other end. Sometimes an opponent has their weakspots like their lower right or their face and usually aim at it. Combo # 3 Start out with 2 left straight, then follow up with a right hook and a left uppercut ones the 3 strings connects. Easily done but the timing is quite hard since this would usually be used with an out boxer. *- -* *- K.O. Punch -* *- -* K.O. punch section will be measuring how to deal the final blow to an opponent. Anyway ones you've started fighting the only way to notice an opponent that'll be nearly done is when you hit him with a jab or a hook that opponent will definitely be blown back. Once this happens he's surely next to be knocked down. The trick on knocking your opponent down is to string up 3 powerful connected blows and defintely he'll fall. What do I mean by stringing up 3 powerful connected blows? As he's shaky his guards will be nearly weak and basically simple jabs are enough to push him back. Anyway If you managed to pull him to a corner or near the rope be sure to not let him slip by giving him strings of attacks. In that way he'll surely fall but the next best thing is to end those hits with a special, e.i. a corkscrew punch could send him falling down in an instant without stringing a combo. Usually special punches makes the KOing a lot easier so you may want to use it than a 3 combo string. *-*-*-*-*-*-*- * Walktrough - *-*-*-*-*-*-*- The story mode is simply a series of title matches or simply bouts. You have to finish a certain character's story before you could proceed with the next main character as well as unlocking gyms and boxers. Remember that this is merely tips so you could definitely use your style when boxing. Anyway, let's get started. Legends * - Very Easy (Hahaha! Puny opponent) ** - Easy (Don't mind if I show you my moves) *** - Average (This is getting rather serious) **** - Hard (Thumb Sore) ***** - Very Hard (What am I gonna do?) *- -* *- Ippo Makunouchi -* *- -* Special Technique learned: Uppercut (Special + Right Hook) Ichiro Miyata Difficulty * Miyata's AI is rather weak so basically keep blasting him with punches of your own and if you're through with him send him dizzy with a series of special upper cuts. This bout is just like a tutorial as the new special skill is learned simply use it as the AI wouldn't defend on that part thoroughly. Just be aggressive and keep on keeping a close distance. Naoya Ogawa Difficulty * The strategy here is same as Miyata's, he's rather very weak and perhaps a sparring with Miyata will not even earn him a victory. He's slow and weak so there shouldn't be any problem. Yusuke Oda Difficulty * Same as Miyata and Ogawa, he's an out boxer if I'm correct so just keep on getting close and pummel him there. Yoshio Fujiwara Difficulty ** Special Technique: Batting (Special + Right Straight) Just watchout for the head buts and onces he do tried one use your left fist to hit it. It'll be a harder counter punch than usual. Fujiwara is an In Boxer and would always want to be in a position to use his headbut just use a couple of jabs and hooks then hit him with an uppercut once's clear. Jason Ozuma Difficulty ** Ozuma is rather an average boxer compared to the last ones. He could throw an average blow but is rather slow paced so no problem there. He would usually goe to his right then left or a 1-2 punch just dodge it and it's your turn. Uppercuts could clear him. You won't have much problem with him so not much trouble back here. Kenta Kobashi Difficulty * Kobashi is rather weak so be aggressive here and wear him down. He'll mostly dodge than try hitting you so you better be on the offensive side here. Simple punches/combos here are enough. Ryuichi Hayami Difficulty ** Special Technique: Shotgun (Special + Right Straight) A rather easy opponent if you just watch his shotgun. Just charge him and counter his shotgun with striaght punches and always position yourself near his body so he couldn't shot gun you. The shotgun couldn't hit it's middle part only it's left or right part. In anycase his constant shotgun would just weaken him so basically charge him and use uppercuts. He'll rarely use the shotgun if you've keep on hitting him. Ryo Mashiba Difficulty *** Special Technique: Chopping Right (Special + Right Straight) Mashiba is rather the most decent opponent so far as his Chopping right could deal hard blows. He's tough and has an average stamina. Basically, just get close with him and be aggressive. Constantly hit him with the special upper cuts to wear him down. Keep on getting close and just duck one he tried to hit you with his own combination. He has a very easy-to-hit body so duck and work there and simply hit him hard with the upper when you had the shot. Special Technique learned: Special Smash (Special + Right Straight) Takeshi Sendo Difficulty *** Special Technique: Smash (Special + Left Straight) Sendo is a great in boxer and could hit you far with his Smash Punch as it could send you dizzy with a few blows. Hit him with hooks then simply uppercut him. It's pretty tough to hit him with the new smash punch that you have so I believe you should better practice it out first. Basically down low and hook could beat this guy. Keigo Okita Difficulty ** Special Technique: Corkscrew Blow (Special + Right Straight) Stay on Okita's left side and there beat him out. This way his corkscrew won't hit you. The new smash punch could work here though that'll put you in a risk if he ever threw the corkscrew punch. I suggest you try get your rythm and hit him with the Special Uppercuts all the time and when he tried getting away use the Smash punch as well as if he move towards you. A series of upper cuts would make him pause for another to hit him so it's our best bet. Takuma Saeki Difficulty ** + * half The Speed Star's next! He's rather quick and perhaps the fastest in the game. Sure he's quick but he has a really weak blow though once he started going for strings of attacks it could be devastating. I would put myself and try to corner this guy. Don't bother using special skills with him as your current attack will barely hit him. Hooks could always catch him as he tries dancing away so you better have a quick reflexes for it. One's you've hit him hard his hair would fall down and he'll have a new look =P. If you managed to bring him dwon his speed would be altered though he's still quick/ Special Technique learned: Gazzel Punch (Special + Left Straight) Vorg Zangief Difficulty ** Special Technique: White Fang (Special + Right Straight) Vorg or the White Wolf is rather easy. With Ippo's new punch you could bring the White Wolf down. Like a wolf he's rather fierce so do not be on the defensive fight head on him answering his jabs with your own jabs. You could always hit him with uppercuts as it slowly makes him pause for another one. To effectively use the Gazzel Punch position Ippo by Vorg's left foot and blast him with the Gazzel. He's fairly easy here than the anime version. Anyway combinations and the new punch + Special uppercuts works well. Eiji Date Difficulty ***** Special Technique: Corkscrew (Special + Right Straight) Tip # 1 Darn, the flyweight champ is surely a champion. Date(the-te not date) is rather tough. Anyway watchout for his corkscrew as he's quick enough to string it with his own left and right combinations. Quickly just dodge if you're taking hits. The secial Uppercuts here doesn't slow him down for a bit but do works with a follow up straight. What my cousin did here is to hit him with an uppercut then a smash punch. That'll throw him back, if he tried going near time it right for a smash punch to land on his face ASAP. Date is quick and has a long stamina and a hell of a toughness but you could bring him down anyway. If you notice it correctly whether you didn't fall in the first four round Date will will always start the 5th round very different from the last ones perhaps a time to make his move so you better not make it reach the 5th. An effective Gazzel works with him as well. Date is quite a challenge but isn't impossible. Tip # 2 I tried beating him up again and this time without the use of special skills. What you have to do is to keep your distance fomr him and simply position yourself in a comfortable postion for you to fight head on with him. I would do is I'll try to go close and hit forward twice to make him lunge forward. This gives Ippo a rather close way to fight with Date. As you lunge forward quickly duck down and pummel him there. Watch his technique as he'll usually start with jabs and follow up with hooks ones he connects watch out for a sudden corkscrew. If you're pummeled all the way at the first two punches he connected at you hits hard all you have to do is either dodge down or evade it by backing up. You'll notice his combination later on and he'll definitely be very predictable now. Just wait for him to hit you with hook and hit him on the separate way with a swaying hook. Remember that a successful counter-attacks doubles the damage recieved. Try fighting him with just jabs head on this way you'll be able to block and hit him the same way he's trying to deal that to you. If you're about to fall simply sway left or right and hit him back down low. I've managed to make him fall down twice in round 3 and twice again in round 4 and finally knocking him out at round 5. The very first time you knocked him down never ever keep your guards down as he'll be more aggressive one's it happens. To make sure you're in the lead read what Mr. Kamogawa has to say, if he told you something about "Brilliant!! something something" then you're on a roll. *- -* *- Ippo: Comeback -* *- -* Special Technique learned: Dempsey Roll (Special + Left Hook) Ponchai Chuwatana Difficulty ** Special Technique: Flying Swallow (Special + Left Straight) Swallow Turn (Special + Right Hook) Chuwatana is rather an easy contest. With the new defensive/offensive Dempsey Roll Skill the bout is quite easy. Just start off with some jabs and ones you noticed his rythm hit him with a Dempsey Roll ones a side is open. In no time he'll be down just don't fire those punches too early as it somehow decreases your stamina. Takeshi Sendo Difficulty *** Special Technique: Smash (Special + Left Straight) Explosive Dash (Special + Right Straight) Ultra-Low Smash (Special + Left Hook) Deadly Smash (Special + Right Hook) Sendo is finally well equipped now though pity I didn't noticed the AI to be better. Simply blast him with early uppercuts or Gazzels and ones a spot is free do the roll! The Dempsey Roll! Hehehe... he's still as weak as the last time though he could surely fight with those new techniques. Kazuki Sanada Difficulty: * + * half Sanada is rather annoying, he could pack punches but somehow those aren't strong simply counter them with your own and use theDempsey Roll again and he'll be down. Ha! Another Victim of the Rolling Dempsey! =P Hammer Nao Difficulty: * After a series of tough matches how'd these guys reach the top to challenge the champ? Anyway Nao is weak but has a toughness and strenght enough to work for what he lacks. His guards usually opens as he throw a slow punch so Dempsey Roll him or Uppercut and cut him down. Yi Yonsu Difficulty: * He's a little more like Sanada though a bit wise. With the Dempsey Roll you won't need help anymore. Iwao Shimabukuro Difficulty ** Special Technique: Gazzel (Special + Left Straight) Iwao is rather agile but not strong enough. Dempsey Roll him and you've got another Rolled victim. Ryuhei Sawamura Difficulty *** Special Technique: Ballet (Special + Left Straight) Tip # 1 An average opponent. He's Ballet could hit you a lot as well as his quick way of moving about could slow you down. Simply take the defensive and wait for him to come. Fight head one and keep dodging/ducking and stick to the right as his Ballet could only hit his left. If you dodged one hit him with a dempsey Roll or a quick Smash Punch. A few good hit and he'll be down. He's just quick but not strong so you have a slight advantage. Beat him and Congratulations you've beaten another annoying boxer! Tip # 2 Sawamura could be a **** star rating if you made him stay on the initiative. You gotta fight him head on and charge at him right away. His ballet could only hit one direction and onces he tried that he's definitely opening the other side for a blow. Just keep swaying around and he'll barely hit you. He'll usually be steady on hooks as well as his opening shot so once you've dodged that fight him with jabs then uppercuts(Techniques+punch) not the special on so you could hit him on any sides. He's quick and has a good speed punches but anything else he's rather weak on his body so as your prime target he'll fall down. This took me around 3 round to K.O. him so it's your call. Tip # 3 Simply watch for his Ballet punch and quickly Dempey Roll him. He's rather weak and a constant dodging and swaying will help then fire away with jabs and a dempsey roll to finish him. This is perhaps the most effective one. Dodge his first two shots (A hook and a jab on the other side) and hit him with jabs and a dempsey roll will only take you roughly around the lenght of late 2nd round to early 3rd round. *- -* *- Masaru Aoki -* *- -* Special Technique learned: Double Punch (Special + Left Straight) Corkscrew Blow (Special + Right Straight) Frog Punch (Special + Right Hook) Bull Ushida Difficulty: * Ushida is rather slow and a boxer that really wanted to be on the offensive side almost leaving his guards down for you. I guess the creator really made every first bout with different characters a tutorial like one so anyway try to try out all of Aoki's specials and try to maintaing a rythm of your own with him. Aoki is an In-Boxer so that means that he fights up close with the enemy with out necessarily dealing with him at a distance. Sway around him and hit him hard with jabs combined with either a double punch or a corkscrew. Once he flew away try to maintain a distance for a corkscrew welcome hit him with it everytime he tries closing in on you and in no time he'll be K.O. or should I say T.K.O.ed as this guy has some stamina not much of a problem here. Jackal Ito Difficulty: ** Ito is an 'Out' Boxer so he'll be using his height and lenght advantage to beat you. He have a fairly long arms to hit you by a distance and retreat when you gain close. Charge at him with double forward and duck down. He'll try to combo you when you're close so time it right that when you counter you'll be able to throw a jab + Double Punch. I usually try to left striaght him and Double Punch him and he'll be knocked back. Sometimes Jabs and Hooks are just enough to get this guy down. Another thing is the corkscrew. Try to get close to him and hit him with a left hook to send him to the right if it connected jab right then corkscrew him. Not a big problem again. Snake Thomas Difficulty: * Special Technique: Corkscrew Blow (Special + Right Straight) I guess a Jackal is still better than Snakes. This thai boxer is pretty weak he has a very weak head so target that with uppercuts and double punch. His body is somewhat flexible as it could really absorb blows so the head is the main target. A double punch and some corkscrew (2 to be exact) is just enough to bring him down. Boy Arate Difficulty: * Now the Pilipino. Pilipinos are quick boxers with powers landed every blow. Boy is quick and though without any specials he could land combinations on you. I suggest you duck his first few blows as he'll slow down after it. After which it's your time to bounce back. Hit him with a good corkscrew or double punch to make him retreat. Once he does try to keep on walking towards him and keep on pummeling him. Be aggressive in this fight and it'll be over. Ippo Makunouchi Difficulty: **** Special Technique: Uppercut (Special + Right Hook) Ippo's sparring with Aoki isn't a great idea well anyway I find a rather easy way to box him out (K.Oed him under 3 rounds 3 minutes and 03 seconds coincidence? nah... plain luck =P) Ippo has a very simple moves and would usually be waiting and ducking. He'll be moving slowly towards you and notice that he isn't very aggressive in this match. Take that opportunity and start the fight with boxing him head on. If you're beaten early duck quickly and hit him down hill mimick you and he'll duck down himself ones he does uppercut him left and right. Never ever use any specials here other than that if it has a weak chance of hitting since Ippo always take those chances to beat the hell out of you. There isn't anyway of knowing if you're winning as Aoki would keep on saying the same thing even if you managed to knock him down twice and you never been knocked down. If you see Ippo trembling with merely jabs keep pressing forward and circle him to the left (on his uppercut side) Yes! I'm not crazy as ones he's nearly exhaisted corkscrew blows and combinational hooks could tear him apart. Just remember to keep on dodging and counter attacking that'll be the only offense we got till Ippo's almost brought down. Also, if you keep on Knocking him down every round you'll notice that he's getting even slower and slower so take that advantage. Paddy Magramo Difficulty: * Perhaps an easy one after a very tough contest. Paddy has a weakspot and it's his head. Keep on running down some corkscrew on his face and he's as good as a KOed boxer. Just keep chasing him around and try to circle him and hit him with hooks. Special Technique learned: Look Away (Special + Left Hook) Katsukata Imae Difficulty: *** Now for the title belt. Remember that with the new skill (Look Away) he'll only bit that trick ones so use it on the right time. At the very start I quickly dodge his blows and counter them. Just keep countering his blows and step back if you're being pummeled. If you think he's about to go down use the corkscrew blows and doulbe punch. Then just keep on pushing towards him and circling him to the left and hit him with hooks since if you brought him down he'll be slow to catch you. The constant strafe to the left would give him a hard time to hit you and you on the other had will have an easier way to box him. The Look away move should be used with the frog punch as one successful frog punch could send him down considering that he's been beaten already. After the battle you're now the new Champ! Now, next Story mode. *- -* *- Tatsuya Kimura -* *- -* Special Technique learned: Quick Dash (Special + Right Straight) Shinji Kanzaki Difficulty: * Is it me or is Kimura's Out Boxing matches my style? Kanzaki could be taken down KOed in under 3 rounds. All you have to do is to go near Kanzaki and keep hitting Square and Triangle button to keep on jabing and if it connects use hooks using X and Circle alternately. I used that smashing technique and is quite very useful all the time. If he's taking enough beating bring him down with clear uppercuts and hooks. Hiroshi Nishimura Difficulty: * A plainly easy. Just use my Smashing combo and when he tries ducking give him an uppercut. He isn't a problem so fight with your own style. Takeishi Ryusaki Difficulty: ** Another easy guy. He's agile like Kimura and has long arms like him. A fairly deviced match. All you have to do is to back down far and use the straight dash and a quick jab to start your combo. Keep doing this whenever you're being thrown out of your rythm. Just gain your rythm quick and blasy him down. Porn Morcotte Difficulty: ** Just use the past techniques you used in the last bouts. He's no diffenent to the others. Nefma Ozca Difficulty: ** Ozca likes to duck giving you a chacne to keep your uppercuts on his face. Hit him with your combos and go into your rythm. It's easy to adjust unto him as he's quite slow giving you a lot of advantages. Special Technique Leanred: Dragon Fish Blow (Special + Left Hook) Ichiro Miyata Difficulty: ** Special Technique: Quick Dash (Special + Right Straight) Sparring with Miyata! He has improved now and you've decided to fight him as he has the same technique with Mashiba and so he accepted it. Simply blast him up early on and when he tries ducking use uppercuts. If you caught him with your combinations try out the new skill you learned and he'll be brought down with it. The Dragon Fish Blow looks like Vorg's White Fang and perhaps a similar version of it so it's very useful now. Ryo Mashiba Difficulty: ** Special Technique: Chopping Right (Special + Right Straight) He's technique is very similar to Ippo's story mode so use it again this time. Keep using the simple smashing combo and use Dragon Fish Blow in between he's quite easy to be taken down with a dragon fish blows so use it often. Mashiba isn't a treat if you keep circling on him to the right. Keep moving forward as you strafe right and he'll barely catch up with you. *- -* *- Mamoru Takamura -* *- -* Atsushi Tamaoki Difficulty: * Like every start of Story mode this guy simply looks like a punching bag so practice with him and try to gain a rythm with Takamura. Takamura is much like Ippo but a bit faster a hell lot of stronger and tougher. So you may know what's up with him. Bear Difficulty: ** A whooping 58 seconds win! The bear could wipe anyone with just a swipe and it's stenght is extremely uncomparable with anyone else and simply the thought of boxing with a bear is insane. Well, Like Takamura's character he's really a funny guy so what do you expect? Anyway the Bear is extremely powerful but very very very and a few more very slow. What my cousin did here (since he's the guy resposibe) He easily dodged few blows and keep on following up with a swaying hooks and series of uppercuts. Uppercuts slows the bear down and makes it pause for a second for another beating. You could completely keep on uppercutting this monster and it'll go down in no time. Takaaki Ito Difficulty: * Special Technique: Smash (Special + Left Straight) I dunno... perhaps creating Takamura's a joke. Takamura's fiercely strong and having Ito for an opponent is quite funny. Ito is much like Nao and rather worse I think. Have Takamura beat him up and he'll be gone in no time. Ito is not much of challenge if you ask me. Morris West Difficulty: ** You'll be a bit weak in this bout but anyway you could still blast this guy down. He's weak with his body so blast him there. Uppercuts works well with him. If you're used to successions of uppercuts it'll work well here. Morris West has some punches but dodging them and blasting him with counter punches weakens him too much. Brian Hawk Difficulty: *** Now a real challenge. Simply keep on circling him around and hit him on a blind spot if he decided to fight you head on, fight back. Hooks and Uppercuts are the key here as well as swaying ones as a counter punch works well against a Hawk. Just don't let yourselft be pushed by the ropes so he could combo you. Keep yourself moving around to avoid direct blows. *- -* *- Genji Kamogawa -* *- -* Ginpachi Nekota Difficulty: **** Nekota could be described as more like Saeki but with the overall ability of an Eiji Date. Anyway by far now you must have mastered the tiem when to throw counter punches as it's very essential here. Nekota likes to throw in combinations of blows as well as quick uppercuts so I suggest your sway should be backing off now not the ducking one. In that sway you won't get hit until he moves around use a swaying hook from the direction to hit him with a counter. When you managed to make him fall down take the initiative and give him series of jabs and hooks he'll keep retreating for sure so try to put him in a corner and beat him there. My cousing beat him in just 5 rounds and a K.O. though Nekota managed to knock him down thricein the tourney. Special Technique: Iron Fist (Special + Right Hook) used upto 5x per bout only Ralph Anderson Difficulty: ***** Ralph is rather easy I tell you! If you don't believe me read on. I managed to knock him down in just under 3 rounds and it's a K.O. Ralph is strong and quick that's why he's able to throw Nekota in to a coma. Ralph is rather fierce yet pretty weak down low. He's good at hooks and jabs so watch out. All the time just duck down adn try hitting him there. If he punches you with his right quickly use the Iron Fist. Two succesful Iron Fist is equall to a Knocked Down Anderson. He's really waek down low and so I suggest just duck and hook him on his right as he always uses his right. Swaying counters downlow always works and if he tried playing it down low back down and jump back up again as his AI will restart on the very first jabs combo and just keep repeating the swaying left hook when he uses his right. Also, you could keep on bashing him there down with straights while dodging again. Trust me just do this and he'll be down. Though the process is very slow and tire-some have you forgotten about that patience is a virtue crap? Just use that and he's long gone. *-*-*-*-*-*-*- * The Boxers - *-*-*-*-*-*-*- Ippo Makunouchi (In white Shirt) When he's unlocked: Default Special Technique: Uppercut (Special + Right Hook) Ippo Makunouchi (In Boxing attire) When he's unlocked: When he starts boxing professionally Special Technique: Gazze; Punch (Special + Left Straight) Special Smash (Special + Right Straight) Dempsey Roll (Special + Left Hook) Uppercut (Special + Right Hook) Ichiro Miyata (In black shirt) When he's unlocked: Default Special Technique: None Ichiro Miyata (In Boxing attire) When he's unlocked: After the Sparring with Tatsuya Kimura Special Technique: Quick Dash (Special + Right Straight) Naoya Ogawa When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: None Yusuke Oda When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: None Yoshio Fujiwara When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: Batting (Special + Right Straight) Jason Ozuma When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: None Kenta Kobashi When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: None Ryuichi Hayami When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: Shotgun (Special + Right Straight) Ryo Mashiba When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: Chopping Right (Special + Right Straight) Takeshi Sendo When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: Smash (Special + Left Straight) Keigo Okita When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: Corkscrew Blow (Special + Right Straight) Takuma Saeki When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: None Vorg Zangief When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: White Fang (Special + Right Straight) Eiji Date When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: Corkscrew (Special + Right Straight) Ponchai Chuwatana When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: Flying Swallow (Special + Left Straight) Swallow Turn (Special + Right Hook) Takeshi Sendo When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: Smash (Special + Left Straight) Explosive Dash (Special + Right Straight) Ultra-Low Smash (Special + Left Hook) Deadly Smash (Special + Right Hook) Kazuki Sanada When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: None Hammer Nao When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: None Yi Yonsu When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: None Iwao Shimabukuro When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: Gazzel (Special + Left Straight) Ryuhei Sawamura When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: Ballet (Special + Left Straight) Masaru Aoki When he's unlocked: After Ippo: Comeback Story Mode Special Technique: Double Punch (Special + Left Straight) Corkscrew Blow (Special + Right Straight) Look Away (Special + Left Hook) Frog Punch (Special + Right Hook) Bull Ushida When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: None Jackal Ito When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: None Snake Thomas When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: Corkscrew Blow (Special + Right Straight) Boy Arate When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: None Paddy Magramo When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: None Katsukata Imae When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: None Tatsuya Kimura When he's unlocked: After Masaru Aoki's Story Mode Special Technique: Quick Dash (Special + Right Straight) Dragon Fish Blow (Special + Left Hook) Shinji Kanzaki When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: None Hiroshi Nishimura When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: None Takeishi Ryusaki When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: None Porn Morcotte When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: None Nefma Ozca When he's unlocked: After being defeated Special Technique: None Mamoru Takamura (Blue Shorts) When he's unlocked: After Tatsuya Kimura's Story Mode Special Technique: None Mamoru Takamura (Red Shorts) When he's unlocked: After fighting with the red shorts.
