My FAQ may recently be found at GameFAQs, so don't expect to find it anywhere else. And don't bother to steal information from my guide and put it in your own FAQ, as this is my FAQ that I written with my time and patience. Anyone who wants to contribute something to my guide, whether it be combos, comments, questions, criticsm (anything that applies with the FAQ only, NOTHING else) or anything they want to do with it (please be sensible enough to use my FAQ wisely, if you are), I'll be glad to accept. 1. Introduction 2. Ryu's Move List 3. Evil Ryu's Move List 4. Combos 5. End 1. Introduction This FAQ is made for readers who want to know Ryu/Evil Ryu, and nothing else. I've done this so that anyone who wants to read on Ryu/Evil Ryu, can come and read this FAQ. I wrote this FAQ for any reader to know Ryu's and Evil Ryu's move lists, and I present them a couple of combos for both Ryu/Evil Ryu. My FAQ is short, but I've done all I could with it to include some interesting and important stuff. Anyway, go on and read. 2. Ryu's Move List -------- Throws: -------- Seoi Nage (LP+LK) Ryu lifts the opponent into the air and then slams them onto the ground in the opposite direction of where Ryu is facing. This does decent damage, and is pretty good. Tomoe Nage (B+LP+LK) Ryu grabs the opponent, lays onto the ground and then kicks the opponent behind him. You can use it to damage the opponent, or you can use this to just keep a powerful opponent away. -------------- Other Moves: -------------- Sakotsuwari (MP+MK) Ryu does a downward punch which is directly aimed towards an opponent's stomach. It can stun crouching opponents or, if you have good timing, you can use it to knock down an airborne opponent. If you stun an opponent, you can put in more moves, which will allow you to link them all into a combo if you are fast enough before the opponent recovers from the stun. Senpuu Kyaku (F+MK) A 180-degree medium kick. It has a very fair range, and is somewhat quick. The damage is pretty okay. This move is almost impossible in a combo, but can be substituted as a later hit. I never use this move often, but it is good if you want to use a moderate range physical attack without going too close to the opponent. Kyuubi Kuudaki (F+HP) Two punches are forced into your opponent's guts. It "stuns" the opponent a bit, which will allow you to throw in another attack while they are "stunned". It is fairly damaging, and the recovery time is somewhat short. It can be canceled into a Special Move, but the timing is tough. --------------- Special Moves: --------------- Hadouken (D, DF, F+P) Perhaps the most common projectile ever known in the game. The fireball travels a fair distance, and the speed varies from the Punch button you pressed. Good to hit the opponent from the distance, unless they are smart enough to jump the Hadouken, especially if they are close, which possibly leaves you wide open for a counterattack. Shakunetsu Hadouken (F, DF, D, DB, B+P) More punishing than the regular Hadouken. It causes more damage, hits a bit more than the Hadouken, and it will set the opponent on fire. It also knocks the opponent away as well, which makes this a very decent projectile to have at your disposal. Treat this like a regular Hadouken. Shoryuken (F, D, DF+P) Ryu's signature move. He leaps into the air and strikes the opponent with his fist. Damage and the length of the distance Ryu leaps depend on the Punch button you pressed. Either way, it does a good amount of damage (though not as much as any of Ryu's Throws). This can be used to avoid some moves or be served as a counterattack, as it almost seems to make Ryu invincible. Also, it is very good to surprise a jumping opponent using this move. The downfall to this move is that if it's blocked, you're dead meat and will likely get attacked before you even reach the ground, especially against a tougher opponent. Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku (D, DB, B+K) Ryu spins as he kicks at the opponent, for up to four kicks. You can follow up by hitting a Kick button again, or by holding B (Back) and pressing K (Kick) three more times. The Kick button you press vary on the height of how Ryu ascends or not (LK=Ascends, MK=Ascends mid-way, and HK=Does not ascend at all). It doesn't exactly matter what Kick button you press, unless the TSK is done in a combo. It purpose of use also serves with the same result of Ryu's Shoryuken. This move is not as lethal as the Shoryuken due to the amount damage each kick does, but it is the only Special Move that does more hits than any other of his Special Moves. ---------------- Super Combos: ---------------- Shinku Hadouken (D, DF, F, D, DF, F+P) An improved version of the normal Hadouken. This version is bigger, it does more damage and it can do 5 Hits. It moves somewhat slow and it can still be avoided by jumping, so be aware of that. You can block various moves with this, or you can use it to counter an opponent. Nice in combos. Shinku Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku (D, DB, B, D, DB, B+K) (also usable in air) This is an upgraded form of the TSK. Instead of the usual effect, this is a "tornado strike". Ryu rises and spins in place, nailing any opponent that touches him while he spins and kicks like a tornado. The damage it deals is very good. This is another air benefit move, since you can catch a jumping opponent with this, simply by having them jump onto you while you spin (unless they kick you from above, since Ryu is not invunerable with his head). You can also rise and avoid a few moves (sweeps and slides are a few examples). Defitnitely a move to use in combos, especially due to the fact that if it is, it can make the combo more devastating. Be warned, if it is done and the opponent is out of range, you will become vunerable and easily get hit out of the Shinku Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku. ---------------- Meteor Combo: ---------------- Shin-Shoryuken (D, DF, F, D, DF, F+KKK) This is the strongest Shoryuken move in the game. Ryu does a stronger form of his Kyuubi Kuudaki, thrusting his fist into the opponent's stomach, then he smacks them a little bit more up, and then finishes off with a devastating Shoryuken, which knocks the oppponent high and far away. Occasionally, if you are a bit of feet away, Ryu will do a normal Shoryuken instead, which does up to five hits. The normal Shoryuken isn't as powerful as the full version of Shin-Shoryuken, but this one does more damage than the Shoryuken as the finishing move for the complete version. Eithier way, Ryu's Shin-Shoryuken will do a nice amount of damage to your opponent. 3. Evil Ryu's Move List Here I have only included different moves, as Evil Ryu has all of (except for Ryu's Shin-Shoryuken) Ryu's moves. Spirit Dash (B, D, DB+PPP, F, D, DF+PPP) Evil Ryu will (sort of) dash backwards/forwards while he is "invisible", depending on the command you inputted. Make good use of it, because the "cloaking" effect of the "invisibility" allows you to avoid any move, until you then go onto the ground. It basically works much like Bison/Bison II/Shin Bison's Warp move. (Note: This isn't the actual name of the move, I just made it up). ---------------- Super Combos: ---------------- Messatsu Go-Shoryuken (D, DF, F, D, DF, F+K) Equivalent to Ken's Shoryu Reppa. Evil Ryu dashes at the opponent and does 2 different Shoryukens. The first is a MP Shoryuken that strikes the opponent 2 times, and the second is Ken's Fire Shoryuken, which strikes 3 times. It's a useful move to add in your combos, as now you don't have to repeat the same method in one combo with just two Super Combos. Also it is a very powerful counter move to have too, so make use of it the most you can, as it is a important move you probably will get used to using soon enough. ----------------- Meteor Combos: ----------------- Shun Goku Satsu (LP, LP, F, LK, HP pressed in rapid succesion) Evil Ryu does his Spirit Dash, and once he is close, he will grab the opponent, and starts thrashing them like mad. It deals out very good damage, though it is the same as Ryu's Shin-Shoryuken. This move is completely unblockable, but you can get hit out of it, unfortunately. Special Note: You should see the ending of the move as it includes an impressive feature before Evil Ryu is done with this move. Denjin Hadouken (D, DF, F, D, DF, F+PPP, hold PPP to charge up) The move Ryu had in Street Fighter III now is possesed by Evil Ryu. This fireball stuns the opponent for a certain amount of time, depending on how long you charge the fireball. It can go up to five hits just like the Shinku Hadouken. The bonus from this move is that it is also unblockable. Unfortunately, even as a Meteor Combo, the Denjin Hadouken isn't as powerful. It only does a medium amount of damage. It's good at setting up a combo, but the hard part may be in getting the fireball to fully charge up before the opponent takes full damage and hits. Therefore, during that time, against a powerful opponent, you'll probably get interrupted before the DH is complete. Be warned when you attempt this move. 4. Combos This is the main section of the entire FAQ. I've gone this far in the game to get a lot of combos and thankfully, I did. I hope that I provided a bundle for you, as opposed to most of my time in the game rather in my FAQ. I'll try to get as many combos to put down as I play with Ryu/Evil Ryu. The combos vary from easy button mashing to tougher presses. I've divided the combos in four groups: 1) Easy beat em' ups (5 combos) 2) Runt Bustin' (12 combos) 3) Aggressive Smashers (13 combos) 4) Star (15 combos) Each type represents their effectiveness. I've listed below some information for each group to help you find your desired section for the combos you are looking for. Anyway, I hope you enjoy these combos. ------------------------------------- Easy beat em' ups Combos ------------------------------------- Due to the fact that these combos are supposed to be easy to perform, they do not require any Super Combo Bars or anything else. Here, I've put in some short combos. They may be short, but do a decent amount damage. These combos will defitnitely pound your opponent due to their damage, and should overall be tougher to do than the last two sections of combos. There are some that will be easy enough to do so consider yourself lucky that you can deal big damage very early.
