Provided the car you drive meets the drivetrain, aspiration and hp requirements you can drive in whatever race you want. eg. a dodge neon can drive in any nations race or the convertible cup, the muscle car cup, the '80's sports car cup, etc. but not the FR challenge or the tuned turbo cup. -The lap record function in the upper right hand corner of the screen is set in Single Player - Time Trial mode on the Arcade Disc. Your times set in Time Trial mode will carry over to simulation mode, but if you break the record in simulation mode it will not update. -To race in the Subaru Alcyone Challenge you will need to buy a used SVX. -The used car lot changes so if the car you are looking for is not there come back another day. -I don't know if the Mercedes CLK-GTR race car is in the game and / or how to get one. But if you get one let me know! rant to developer: -What is with the game going directly to a replay after a race? The first GT handled this much better by letting you choose. The person that though this was a good idea should be waxing floors for a very long time. -It is too complicated to take a car to get it tuned. Adding a button to sell car on the car screen was a great idea.
