Before we start, I would just like to thank the Gaming Gods who have finally 
delivered a new Hokuto no Ken game, it's about damn time. The game is kind of 
like Final Fight beat 'em up with a versus mode. All information in the faq 
is for all to use as long as I get credit. All characters belong to someone 
else that has more money then you so don't rip them off either. All 
information is provided by me though trial and error. This is my first faq so 
be gentle. I kept it simple because the game is not complicated and it keeps 
this faq concise and to the point. I will update as I find out new stuff, all

I added some new stuff the same day I wrote and sent out the faq but I found 
some stuff that everyone should know. What you ask? Well, gameshark codes for 
one, and a new secret game mode. Well here it is

I. Menu

a) Story Mode

II. Story mode

The whole thing is self explanatory, it's all in Japanese so if you don't 
speak it, well, the movies are nice. But if you know the story you will have 
an idea as to what is happening. A couple things to know, there are 2 types 
of thugs, the red ones and the other is everyone else. What's the difference? 
Glad you asked. The regular ones just die but if you attack them a split 
second before the strike (they will flash as the get ready to hit you) they 
will explode instantly, end of thug. The red ones though are the fun ones, 
hit them before the strike and you go into what I call combo mode and if you 
pull it off you get a little bit of life back and when thug explodes he takes 
everyone that is close with him, not to shabby. See the VS mode section for 
the rest of the moves to use. Beat all the bosses without continuing and you 
will get to use then in VS mode, beat all the stages without continuing and 
get an extra mode to play separate from story and VS. After you beat the game 
you can hit the start button to get past the movie scenes otherwise the first 
time through break out the popcorn.


III. Movie mode

OK, here how it works. They gave us a mode where you can edit the scripts of 
all the clips in the game with any line from any character in the game, i.e. 
you could have Roul talk when the show Ken. But it's not like Ken will say" 
Omae wa mou shindieru." and it will be in Roul's voice but it will be what 
ever line from Roul you assign.


Now, to edit. Select the 1st option then select what line you want to change. 
Note- just moving the cursor to the line will have the character who is 
supposed to say it say it to you, the characters name is in the cursor. 
Select the line you want by pressing O. You are now given a list of all the 
characters, I will list them later it the updates faq. Select your character, 
you will then be given a screen with all the characters lines in the game. 
Pick one you like and hit O. The line you picked will replace the original 
and cursor will have the new characters name in it and the line will be a 
different color showing it has been edited. Repeat as you see fit. You may 
view your progress by selecting the second option.

Now lets save this sucker. Select the 3rd option from the edit menu. Select a 
File number and hit O pick the second option to confirm and your done. Back 
out using X. Now anytime you want watch your movie load it up on the main 
Movie Clips menu (2nd option) Use the 3rd option to back out to main menu.

IV. VS mode

P-punch
K-kick
J-jump
(P+K)- pressed together
F-forward-I put a comma between the forward and attack, press together the 
same time.
emample:  F,(P+K)   ALL OF THAT IS PRESSED TOGETHER
FF-twice forwad (makes character runs)

You must have the 2nd player controller to fight against the computer. Press 
select on whichever controller you want to fight against. Hold R1 to get a 
different outfit. when you fight sam characters in the same outfits will 
result in different colors of that out fit. But P1 is assigned one color and 
P2 another. Which means if you select Ken for both P1 will always be blue 
with a white shirt and P2 will always be black with a red shirt. P1 can never 
be in a black outfit and vise versa. Ok now now when you know who's who and 
wearing what lets get started.


Fisrt, the basics: Punch, Kick and Jump, any questions?  When your knocked 
down you have 3 options:
1) do nothing and you will just get up
2) tap jump and select which direction
3) tap kick to attack while getting up (note- this takes a little bit of life 
from you but has 2 things going for it- 1) it is unblockable 2) you are 
invincible, use it wisely)

All Characters have a jump and attack but most are worthless, I will note the 
ones that are good, the rest of them are not worth using in a fight.

Forward twice and jump gives you a nice high jump, great for getting away 
from guys and cool to look at.

You can block by holding the punch button, but be warned the little meter 
under your power meter will fill up and when it's full and you are hit while 
blocking you will be stuned and you will lose a lot of life if the computer 
is not busy walking backwards away from you...Raul, I am looking at you!

V. Secret Bonus Mode

Beat the game without continuing and you will get a new game mode. In this 
mode you are in a ring of sorts with tourches and 4 statues of Yin and Yang. 
In the center it says "The Something" I don't read Japanese so email if you 
know. Anyway how it works is you fight Five, 30 second rounds and you are to 
kill as many guys as you can, it's that simple. The thugs cycle themselves 
through all the different ones from all the stages. Here is the best part, 
they are all red thugs, which means just punching them sends you into the 
combo mode. If you are not good at doing those random combos you will hate 
this mode. But if you are like me you will foam at the mouth and have a grand 
old time. At the end your body count is given, if it is your first time 
playing it what ever your count is will be the new high score and you will 
have the option to save it. After that you have to beat that score. It's a 
lot of fun and you don't have to worry about blocking bars or taking damage 
cause all that's on the house!

VI. Memory

>From the main menu select the 4th option. Now, the 1st option is save select 
it and you will be given 2 options. The top one is cancel, the second one is 
confirm.

Now back to the main Memory option the second option is load, that should be 
self explanatory.

VI. Options

This is real easy. Select the 5th option form the main menu. The first option 
is Sound: Stereo, or Mono, choose what ever. the second is the rumble option, 
on or off. Now it only works sometimes when you do special moves in the movie 
clips, i.e. when Roul kills himself.

VII. Gameshark codes

I hacked these myself so they may seem odd because the life bar is half full 
(but it doesn't move at all) and a major bug with the block bar code is that 
it doesn't work with Toki's counter. If you use the code and try to counter 
with Toki he will become stuned instantly, I will work out this bug, but 
otherwise it's great for everyone else you can block all day without a care 
in the world. Well here they are, they were hacked on a Gameshark Pro Ver 3.2

Well that is it for this version. I know it's sloppy but I did this in just 
an hour and I wanted to get something out there since no one else has done 
anything for the game. Oh I contacted Bandai and they are not bringing this

me. Thanks Andres for finding the jump Ju Ha Zan for Ken (the quick kicks 
that finished off Heart) and for kicking me out of you house so you go sit in 
a hot tub with 3 chicks, I see how you treat your friends. Anyway that made 
me go home and play this game and decided to make a faq because it was early 
and I had nothing better to do. But your truly are my best rival, like Raul 
is to Ken, Vegeta is to Son Gokou, Terry is to Geese, and Ken is to Ryu, you 
made all this possible. But you still owe me for forsaking me for a woman, I 
read about ancient Greeks that did that once, but I never finished the book.
