How the heck did I manage to get all 320 cars in R4? Nah, I did not get all the cars by playing the game like hundreds of times. Besides, that would be impossible (read the FAQ section). I only played through the Grand Prix Mode 6 times. I simply used a Gameshark to hack in the rest of the cars. Now, before you people start calling me a cheater, let me make this clear. I used the Gameshark so that I can make a complete list of all the cars in R4 to be put into this FAQ for your viewing pleasure. I put it in here so that you can get an idea of how many cars you are lacking for a specific team or manufacturer. Now, on with the FAQ. 2. Game Modes There are several modes of play in R4, with one secret "Extra Trial" Mode. There is Grand Prix Mode, where most of the game's cars are unlocked, Time Attack Mode, VS Battle and the secret Extra Trial Mode. The Extra Trial Mode is opened after going through Grand Prix Mode once with any team. There is also the Garage. This is where you can get in to view all the cars you have gotten so far. This is also where you can customize your cars with stickers or simply change the colours of the car. There is also a feature within this mode that allows you to create your own personalized stickers for your cars. 3.The Teams There are a total of 4 teams in R4. They are: R.C Micro Mouse Mappy (France) Turning: Easy Pac Racing Club (Japan) Turning: Normal Racing Team Solvalou (Italy) Turning: Difficult Dig Racing Team (USA) Turning: Expert 4. The Manufacturers There are also four car manufacturers in R4. They are: Assoluto (Italy) Type: Drift Lizard (USA) Type: Drift Terrazi (Japan) Type: Grip Age Solo (France) Type: Grip 5. Unlocking New Cars As far as I know, there are only two ways to unlock new cars. The first method is by going through Grand Prix Mode. After going through Grand Prix Mode, the four cars that you used in Grand Prix Mode is added to your Garage. However, the better you do in the races (eg. getting first place in every race on the first try, etc.), the better the car you will get. So, if you went through the whole Grand Prix Mode with the same car (looks the same, only the max speed increases each time), it means that you did not do very well in Grand Prix Mode. The other method is by winning the Extra Trial. There are four Extra Trials, one for each manufacturer. You must have at least one car of that manufacturer in your garage before you can race in that manufacturer's trial. The Extra Trial is very difficult to win. However, winning the Extra Trial earns you the most powerful cars in the game. In Extra Trial, only four cars can be unlocked, one for each trial. 6. Complete List Of Cars Ok, this is it. The COMPLETE list of cars found in R4. In order to save time, I've listed the cars according to their manufacturer. I was only able to do this because the cars are all the same throughout for every team. The only difference is the Max Speed of the cars and the sticker designs of the cars, which varies with each team. So just follow the abbreviations of the team names at the top of the table beside the Max Speed heading to find out the speed of the specific car for the specific team. The last car on the list of each manufacturer are those unlocked in Extra Trial Mode. And the new car is none other than the Pac-Man car!!! The Pac-Man car even has its own music during the race, "Eat'em Up", and it is an update of the music found in the old Pac-Man game. Sorry, I am not very sure how to unlock this car as I hacked in most of the cars which includes this very special car. Well here are its stats. Car Name Stage Max Speed/ km/h Type Pac-Man 4 242 Drift 7. FAQ Q: Is it possible to unlock all 320 cars in the game? A: From what I've read and heard, no. It seems that the PocketStation would have to be used in order to collect all 320 cars. The only way to collect them all would be to use the PocketStation and trade cars with your friends with it. I am not too sure how the game would prevent you from playing the Grand Prix thousands of times though. The PocketStation would be released on January 23 in Japan. Well, I can't think of any other FAQ to include in this section. If you have any questions, mail me at elroyng@singnet.com.sg and I will include the question and answer to this FAQ. Ok, this is the end of my FAQ. It has been tedious making this FAQ but very satisfying indeed.
