Credits 001-General Information --------------------------------------------------------- This is a walkthrough for the PC game called Treasure Cove. The walkthrough also applies to the Mac version of this game. Treasure Cove is an educational game, designed to teach children basic math and language skills. You can contact me at ilovecartoonssomuch@yahoo.com if you have any questions about this guide. 002-Gameplay Demonstration --------------------------------------------------------- I made a video, demonstrating what this game is like and how to play it. If you'd prefer to watch that video over reading this guide, you can find it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6AwPAGydX4 The video comes complete with my commentary. 003-Walkthrough --------------------------------------------------------- The controls to this game are simple. Press left, right, up and down to go in those directions. Press the spacebar to shoot out a bubble, and click on the bottom of the screen, below your character, in order to shine a light there. To go inside a cave, move your character to the entrance of the cave and click the "enter" sign. There are three similar levels to this game. Each level has the following things: 1. Starfish 2. Sea Animals 3. Air Refill Station 4. A Cave 5. Puffer Fish Hole 6. Enemies --- 1. The starfish, or sea stars, swim around the ocean. You can catch them inside a bubble. Every time you catch a starfish, it gives you a puzzle to solve. Solve the puzzle correctly, and the starfish gives you some light for your flashlight. There are three orange starfish in each level. Each orange starfish has a clue which is written in the lower/left. Collect all three clues! 2. There are animals at the bottom of the screen that you can shine light on. The three clues, gotten from the starfish, tell you which animals you want to shine light on. For example, if the clues are "three brown turtles", you know that you want to shine light on top of three brown turtles. So, swim all over the cove until you find the three brown turtles, then shine light on them. If you shine light on the correct animal(s), you get a puffer fish. There is one puffer fish per level. If you shine light on animals that fulfill only two of the clues, but not the third one, you get some gems. Level One's gems are worth five gems apiece, Level Two's gems are worth ten gems apiece, and Level Three's gems are worth twenty-five gems apiece. You want to collect as many gems as possible. The game ends whenever you get a certain number of gems. 3. If you ever run out of air, you can go to the air refill station. This is always on the left side of a screen, with a seahorse and a number. Flash your flashlight near the seahorse, and the number goes down. Once the number reaches zero, your air gets refilled. I know this may sound complicated, but it's not. Say the number is "5". That means you have to shine light five times to get more air. 4. Every level has a cave that you can enter. You can swim from one side of the cave to another. Don't forget to explore the caves when going through the levels. 5. There is a puffer fish hole in every level. It is always next to a cave entrance. In level one, it is near a seahorse. In level two, it is near the large whale. In level three, it is near a seashell. Once you collect the puffer fish in this level, go above the puffer fish hole and shine light on it. The puffer fish will then plug up the hole, and your character is transported to the next level. 6. There are black fish called "goobies" which swim around the levels. If you run into one, you lose some of your light. You can swim around them, or you can catch them in air bubbles. As the game goes on, the number of goobies in each level increases. --- The game has different difficulty levels. You can set them manually, in the later versions of the games. As you progress through the game, the difficulty will automatically be increased. The number of gems you can get in each level increases as well. Each level has a unique location no other level has. Level has the sunken ship. Inside the ship, you can go to the prize room and see all your prizes. Every time you beat Level Three, you get a new prize for the sunken ship. Basically, this serves as a way of seeing how many times you've beaten the game so far. It also lets you see your prizes and feel accomplished. Level Two has the seastar circus. When you go inside here, you can see the seastars performing various circus acts. This is, of course, a good place to find seastars for catching. Level Three has a dark cave. In this cave, you can shine light in order to see a brief, usually humorous, scene. Once you get through level three, you are taken to a bonus level, with sharks. The sharks in this level swim in specific patterns. Your goal is to get past the sharks, either by dodging them or shooting them with bubbles to make them float away. You must get past the sharks by going right, off the edge of the screen, in order to win this level. You should shine your flashlight on the gem in the lower/right, though, in order to get more gem points. Once you beat the shark level, there is a brief cutscene of the Super Solver giving the gems to the elves. These gems are used to rebuild the rainbow, and you see a meter which shows you how many gems you've collected over the course of the game and how many gems you have yet to get in order to win the game. Keep replaying the levels until you get all the necessary gems, and you win! 004-Credits --------------------------------------------------------- This FAQ is copyright of The Lost Gamer, 2011.
