INTRODUCTION G0100 =============================================================================== Welcome to 'Police Quest: In Pursuit of the Death Angel' for the PC, an adventure game released by Sierra in 1987. The walkthrough for this game is complete and includes a point list. By following the walkthrough you will also get all points in the game and some more (see the note in the point list). Suggestions, comments or errors - email me about it. Enjoy! =============================================================================== 02.) BASICS G0200 =============================================================================== Walk around with the arrow keys, Home, End, Page Up/Down or alternatively sitch off NumLock and use the Numpad. You should walk around under the fast setting (type FAST) but if you drive under this speed you should get used to crashing a few times and driving over red lights, both are game over situations. Alt+Z = Quit F1 = Help. F2 = Turns sound on/off. F3 = ReType F4 = Enter/Exit Car, Drive/Park F5 = Save F6 = Normal Speed Car F7 = Restore/Load F8 = Fast Speed Car F9 = Restart F10 = Siren Car, Weapon TAB = Inventory Save often and use different slots, you can get stuck at many points in the game without prior warning. This is NOT like modern LucasArts adventures (i.e. Monkey Island) where you cannot die, so be more careful of your actions and explorations. The number in the ()s is the amount of points you get during the game. They are listed again in the point list for a quick reference. The second number is the total amount you should have at this point. =============================================================================== 03.) WALKTHROUGH G0300 =============================================================================== ___Lytton P.D.___ ----------- Start off by going into the locker room at the bottom right corner. OPEN LOCKER (1/1) at the righthand side and TAKE ALL (3/4) to literally collect everything that is inside. OPEN BRIEFCASE (1/5) and TAKE ALL (3/8) here as well to get tree more items. CLOSE LOCKER and go back to the main hallway. At the right side, TAKE KEY (1/9) and at the top TAKE RADIO (2/11) extender. Go into the briefing room at the top right and LOOK NEWSPAPER (5/16). When the meeting starts, walk to your desk in the first row. It will not start until you are positioned correctly. After the meeting (8/24), TAKE NOTES (1/25) and write down what you want. Go over to the pigeonholes and LOOK HOLE (1/26) once and then again for a note (1/27) in your pigeonhole. Go outside into the walk around the bottom left car (5/32) for a safety check. If you forget about this part, the game will be over as soon as you start driving off from the station. The game will let you know when the check is complete, and you will notice the points being rewarded. OPEN DOOR and F4. TAKE NIGHTSTICK (3/35), CLOSE DOOR and F4 to drive off. Patrol the area until you get a message about a crashed car. It is in city sector B2 and you will take notice with ease. Note that the event does not appear if you stay in this sector forever. You have to be in any sector but B2 for it to happen, same with all the other events in the future. Drive close to it (3/38) to stop and get out (F4). ___Car Crash___ --------- OPEN DOOR, F4 and walk to the crash victim. LOOK MAN twice and go over to the crowd. TALK MAN twice and USE RADIO. Wait for the other detectives to arrive and they will tell yuo that they will take over (5/43). Get in your car (F4) and drive off (F4). Patrol again until you get called to the Caffiene Castle in sector B2. ___Carol's Caffiene Castle___ ----------------------- Arrive here (3/46) and OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR. Walk into the coffee shop. SIT at Steve's table and wait for the coffee to arrive. Carol will answer the phone and call you so STAND and USE PHONE (2/48). Leave the coffee shop and OPEN DOOR to your car, F4 and CLOSE DOOR. F4 to drive off. Patrol the streets again until you see a red car cross a red light. F10 to switch on the siren and follow the car around until it pulls over (4/52). F4. ___Red Car___ ------- OPEN DOOR, F4. USE RADIO (1/53) and walk over to the red car. LOOK WOMAN, ASK LICENCE, WRITE TICKET, say NO, WRITE TICKET. GIVE LICENCE, SIGN TICKET and GIVE TICKET (7/60). Go back to the police car, F4, CLOSE DOOR and F4. Patrol the streets until you get a dispatch call about trouble at the Caffiene Castle in B2. ___Carol's Caffiene Castle___ ----------------------- Go inside and TALK CAROL about the bikers (3/63). Go next door to Wino Willy's and talk to the leader about MOVE BIKES. Use F10 to pull your nightstick (5/68). ASK DRUGS (3/71) and leave. OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR, F4. Patrol the city until you notice a drunk driver. Use the siren (F10) to pull him over (3/74). F4. ___Drunk Driver___ ------------ USE RADIO (1/75). OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR. Walk to the other car and ask the man to GET OUT. GIVE TEST (3/78) and CUFF MAN. He will ask to be cuffed at the front but reply NO. Tell him to FOLLOW ME (3/81) and walk to the back of the police car. OPEN DOOR in the back and move aside. CLOSE DOOR once he is in and OPEN DOOR to the front. F4, CLOSE DOOR, F4. Drive to the jail in sector D3. ___City Jail___ --------- OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR. OPEN DOOR to the back and let the guy get out. CLOSE DOOR and go to the door. OPEN LOCKER to PUT GUN (2/83). CLOSE LOCKER and PUSH BUTTON at the side of the door. Inside, BOOK MAN for DRUNK DRIVING (2/85) and TAKE CUFFS. After you have put him into the cell, Laura will come in, then talk to the guy behind the counter and exit. OPEN LOCKER, TAKE GUN, CLOSE LOCKER. At the car, OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR, F4. Drive back to the P.D. ___Lytton P.D.___ ----------- PUT NIGHSTICK, OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR. In the first corridor, WRITE MEMO and PUT MEMO BASKET (2/87). Go into the office left of the hallway and LOOK CHICKEN. TALK MAN and then back out. The guys will ask if you will meet them at the Blue Room later so say YES. Go to the lockers and OPEN LOCKER, TAKE TOWEL, CLOSE LOCKER. Go to the showers and SHOWER. TURN OFF SHOWER and OPEN LOCKER again. WEAR SUIT (2/89) and TAKE KEYS (1/90). CLOSE LOCKER. Exit the police department and walk to the blue corvette. OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR. F4, drive to the Blue Room at B4. ___Blue Room___ --------- You arrive here (2/92), TAKE WALLET (3/95), OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR and go inside. SIT right next to Jack and watch the party (2/97). STAND and leave. OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR, F4. Drive back to the precinct. ___Lytton P.D.___ ----------- Go to the lockers, OPEN DOOR, TAKE TOWEL and SHOWER. TURN OFF SHOWER, OPEN LOCKER and WEAR SUIT. TAKE ALL then CLOSE LOCKER. Go to the briefing rooma nd walk to the empty space in the first row. After the meeting (1/98) LOOK HOLE on the right to read a letter (3/101). Return to your car to patrol the city once again. Eventually you will see a drunk driver. Turn on the siren and catch him to pull him over (5/106). ___Stolen Car___ ---------- USE RADIO and wait for the backup to arrive. OPEN DOOR and F4. LOAD GUN (4/110) and DRAW GUN. Shout GET OUT OF CAR WITH HANDS UP (4/114) then tell the guy to LIE DOWN (2/116) and DRAW GUN again. CUFF MAN and SEARCH MAN (2/118). Tell him to STAND and READ RIGHTS (1/119). FOLLOW ME and walk to the police car. OPEN DOOR to the back and let him go in. Now make sure you have your speed on something slower. When the other policeman walks by, LOOK GUN and READ SERIAL NUMBER (4/123). PUT GUN and walk over to the stolen car. OPEN TRUNK and LOOK DRUGS (2/125), CLOSE TRUNK. LOOK DOOR (2/127) then SEARCH CAR and OPEN GLOVE COMPARTMENT. LOOK, TAKE BOOK and RETURN BOOK (4/131). GET DRIVERS LICENSES and CLOSE GLOVE COMPARTMENT. CLOSE DOOR. Return to your car, OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR, F4 and drive to the jail. ___City Jail___ --------- OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR. OPEN DOOR at the back and CLOSE DOOR when he's out. Walk to the door and OPEN LOCKER, PUT GUN, CLOSE LOCKER again. PUSH BUTTON and walk in. Tell the man at the counter you want to book the arrested guy for DRUGS. TAKE CUFFS (3/134) and then walk out. OPEN LOCKER, TAKE GUN, CLOSE LOCKER. At the police car, OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR, F4. ___Lytton P.D.___ ----------- OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR. Go to Dooley's office and READ MEMO (2/136) on his desk. OPEN LOCKER in the locker room, TAKE TOWEL and CLOSE LOCKER. SHOWER, TURN OFF SHOWER and OPEN LOCKER again. CHANGE and TAKE ALL (Note: do not open the briefcast for now). Go inside the hallway and PUT KEY. Go to the first office in the department and OPEN DOOR. Talk to Morgan (1/137) and go to the next office. After Laura explained everything, TAKE CLIPBOARD and TAKE FBI LIST (2/139). PUT CLIPBOARD and TAKE KEY (3/142). OPEN DRAWER, then READ HOFFMAN FILE, TAKE FILE (2/144). Outside the department, walk around the cadillac for safety and OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR, F4. Drive to the Courthouse. ___Courthouse___ ---------- Arrive (1/145) and OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR. OPEN DOOR to the main building and walk to the right. Tell the guy you want to SEE JUDGE and say it is an EMERGENCY (3/148). When he comes back, OPEN DOOR and talk to the judge. First you need to say this is regarding HOFFMAN and show him the HOFFMAN FILE, then the FBI POSTER. Finally talk about this TATTOO and he will be convinced (7/155). Leave the courthouse, OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR. Drive over to the jail. ___City Jail___ --------- OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR. OPEN LOCKER, PUT GUN, CLOSE LOCKER. PUSH BUTTON. SHOW WARRANT (2/157) to the jailer and leave again. OPEN LOCKER, TAKE GUN, CLOSE LOCKER. OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR, F4. Go back to the station now. As soon as you arrive you will be greeted by Laura. She will get in and you need to drive to the park which is the long stretch in B2. ___Park___ ---- Arrive (1/158) and OPEN DOOR. F4 and CLOSE DOOR again. OPEN CASE, TAKE ALL (1/159) and CLOSE CASE. Go up into the park and hide between the top right bush. LOAD GUN and DRAW GUN. When the two people have arrived, wait for them to start arguing. USE RADIO to call Laura and shout HALT to interrupt the meeting (5/164). DRAW GUN and CUFF MAN (1/165). READ RIGHTS (1/166) and tell him to FOLLOW ME. At the car, SEARCH MAN (6/172) and TALK SIMMS twice (2/174) then TALK COBY twice (3/177). CLOSE DOOR, OPEN DOOR at the front, F4 and CLOSE DOOR. F4 and USE RADIO (1/178), drive to the Jail. Note: Searching Simms in the park instead of the car will lead to different points. Might be a mistake or on purpose. ___City Jail___ --------- OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR. OPEN DOOR at the back, CLOSE DOOR again. Walk to the door and OPEN LOCKER, PUT GUN, CLOSE LOCKER. PUSH BUTTON to get inside. Tell the guy they are arrested for DRUGS. TAKE CUFFS (2/180) and leave. OPEN LOCKER, TAKE GUN, CLOSE LOCKER. OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR, F4. Drive to the police station, F4, F4 again and drive to the Blue Room. ___Blue Room___ --------- OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR. Go inside and SIT next to Jack. TALK JACK and wait for the taxi driver to come and Jack to leave (1/181). Keith comes in and tells you to come back to the office. STAND and exit. OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR, F4. Back to the office. ___Lytton P.D.___ ----------- OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR. Talk to Morgan in his office (1/182) and LOOK PHONE (2/184). Go into the room with the Computer (north of hallway) and USE COMPUTER then type SW9764912 (2/186)). Go into your office and USE PHONE to dial 1-312-555-3382 and say HOFFMAN (5/191). Then USE PHONE to call 555-4522 and say you are SONNY and ask for HOFFMAN (5/196)). Go to your car, make a safety check by walking around it and OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR, F4. Drive to the jail. ___City Jail___ --------- OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR. OPEN DOOR at the back, CLOSE DOOR again. Walk to the door and OPEN LOCKER, PUT GUN, CLOSE LOCKER. PUSH BUTTON to get inside. Go talk to Marie and ask for HELP OPERATION (5/201). Exit, OPEN LOCKER, TAKE GUN, CLOSE LOCKER. OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR, F4. Drive to D4 and you get a call. You will already see the police cars in the corner of the map so drive there and F4. ___Cotton Cove___ ----------- Arrive here (2/203), OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR. Walk up to the corpse and LOOK BODY, OPEN SHIRT (2/205) and USE RADIO (3/208) to call it in. Back to your car, OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR, F4. To the P.D. yet again. ___Lytton P.D.___ ----------- OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR. Talk to Morgan in his office (2/210) and go to your office. USE PHONE to call 555-2622 (3/213). Go into the locker room, OPEN LOCKER, TAKE TOWEL and go SHOWER. USE BLEACH, then RINSE (3/216). SHUT OFF SHOWER and OPEN LOCKER, CHANGE, CLOSE LOCKER. Back into Morgan's office (1/217) and finally leave for the cadillac. Do the typical safety check, OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR, F4. Drive to the hotel in sector A2. ___Hotel Delphoria___ --------------- Arrive here (1/218), OPEN DOOR, F4, CLOSE DOOR. WAlK inside and RING the bell. ORDER ROOM and PAY ROOM (3/221). Go left into the bar. Order a BEER and sit down with Marie. PAY (1/222) for the drink and STAND after you are finished. PAY (2/224) at the bar to give the bartender a tip. Go into the elevator and to floor TWO. Go right and UNLOCK DOOR (1/225) to room 204. USE PHONE to call 555-6674 (3/228), say SONNY, and then USE PHONE to call 555-9222 (3/231) to order a taxi to the HOTEL. Go back and take the elevator to floor ONE. Right into the bar and PAY (1/232) the bartender. Walk along and let the bartender frisk you at the door. Inside, SIT at the only available chair. Play Poker until your winnings around around $1,000 (3/235). POKER ##### I believe the computer is cheating you in this game. Whenever you have a good hand everybody will fold. I could just be unlucky I guess. If you do not know how to play, or more importantly have a winning hand, check for a poker guide online, or some book. The rules in this version are very simple. F4 starts a new hand. Save (F5) when you have won. You can only save between rounds. I suggest you restore (F7) each time until you have at least 1 pair. This can take some time to win. If you need more info on how to play Poker, read it up online instead. ##### Afterwards go out and into the elevator. Push TWO and UNLOCK ROOM. Wait a while for the cops to arrive and ASK TRANSMITTER (5/240) of the left man. Leave and go downstairs via the elevator or stairs. In the bar, tell the bartender the password FRANK SENT ME and follow him. Inside the back room, SIT and play poker again until you win another $300 (3/243). Then answer YES to both questions and STAND. Follow Frank man to the fourth floor and before you reach the room, USE PEN (5/248) and enter it. They enable you to drive the cadillac. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CORVETTE KEYS Inside the locker back at the station. They enable you to drive the Corvette. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HAIR BLEACH Given to you by Morgan to dye his hair before going to Hotel Delphoria. It is applied in the shower inside the station. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HANDCUFFS Inside the locker back at the station. Used to arrest several people throughout the game. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HOFFMAN FILE In the file cabinet at the station. Used in court to convince the judge. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LOADED REVOLVER Once you load ammunition into the revolver it becomes loaded.
