DoraboChan did the Non Playable Characters section and added in some information for some of the Members. ------- Preface ------- Welcome! This is a character guide for Dragon Knight 4, specifically the Windows version that was released on June 29, 2007. In all, there are 28 members that can make up the group in Dragon Knight 4. Each character's section will be listed in the following format: -------------- Character Name -------------- (1) Other Pronunciations* (2) Sex (3) Race (4) Class (5) Elemental Alignment (6) Eyes (7) Hair (8) Weapon & Armor (9) Originally From (10) First Sighting (11) Story & Background (12) Assessment, concentrating on innate skill analysis (13) Joining Information (14) Level 30 Statistics** (15) Skills (16) Special Ability (17) Other miscellaneous information of special note if necessary *The English translation of the character names were taken from Elf's promotional Dragon Knight 4 trailer, found on their website. We deem some of their translations downright strange and not intuitive, and for that reason we've included an "Other Pronunciations" field for characters who might have more fitting names, or might be recognized better by names other than their official names. **Level 30 statistics might be useful in determining a member's growth rate of certain statistics, since for example, some members can routinely hit 100 in certain statistics. However, it should not be treated as a be-all, end-all for statistical references of the members because stat-gains at level up are randomized to a point. This guide will also list notable non playable characters (NPCs) found in the game, along with a short description about each of them. This document is best viewed in the JIS character encoding. If you see strange symbols sprinkled throughout this guide, you definitely need to switch to a Japanese-enabled encoding! Because this document--a guide of a Japanese game--is mostly written in English, some translations may be slightly inaccurate, or could be worded better. Before you go on, please be warned that this guide WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS to the story. If you do not wish to be spoiled of the story, please do not read any further. Otherwise.... Thanks for reading and enjoy the guide! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- II Members ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- カケル Kakeru ------------- Sex: Yes please (ahem, Male). Race: Human. Class: Swordsman. Elemental Alignment: Wind. Eyes: Brown. Hair: Black with a small ponytail tied by a string. Weapon & Armor: A sword used by his father, Yamato Takeru. Normal fabric clothing with little to no armor. Originally From: Minerva Continent. First Sighted: In his home on the Continent of Minerva, with his parents Yamato Takeru and Luna. Story & Background: As the main character of Dragon Knight 4, Kakeru has a knack for surrounding himself with a lot of females. He is optimistic by nature and always eager for battle and adventure. He's basically in this battle for that very reason, yes, for the sake of going on an adventure. He has been childhood friends with Natasha, who he always enjoy teasing. In one occasion he even got wounded on the back of the head when Natasha threw a rock at him. Kakeru does show he cares about her quite a bit; otherwise he would not have kept the Charm she made him keep so close at all times. He just won't flat out admit it. Assessment: Kakeru is a fairly balanced character that can level up quickly if always put on the front lines during battle. Since his attendance in battle is mandatory, those looking to balance all party members might end up using him as someone who just occasionally help chip in damage. His skill set is pretty balanced too, with good group attacks and long range attack once you level his Shock Wave up to Lv 2. Joining Information: Kakeru is required to join the group. The game begins with him in the group. He cannot leave the group after he joins. Lv 30 Statistics: Maximum HP 147 Strength 83 Range 1 Defense 72 Concentration 36 Agility 72 Magic Power 34 Move Power 4 Will 85 Jump 2 Luck 81 Skills: ? Slash ? Shock Wave ? Parrying Special Ability: Blood of the Brave [Damage Taken -10; Critical Rate +10%; AP +10] ----------- セイル Sail ----------- Other Pronunciations: Seiru. Sex: Male. Race: Human. Class: Fighter/Dragon Knight. Elemental Alignment: Water/Light. Eyes: Green. Hair: Brown and short. Weapon & Armor: A hand-ax. Blue vest, green pants, and a bow tie. Originally From: Town of Sonia. First Sighted: In his house next to the church where his father, the exalted Dragon Knight Baan, practices as a priest. Story & Background: Sail may have thought to have been the main character because of his background, but he actually plays a supporting role in this game. For the majority of the game, he appears to be extremely cowardly, but as he progresses, he grows as he goes into battle against Luciphon's minions. His transformation into a Dragon Knight at Dragon's Fort definitely played a lot into his development. He eventually did slowly accept his lineage as a Dragon Knight, and eventually got over his fear of heights and fulfilled his fascination of being able to fly in the sky like his predecessors before him. Not only that, but also did learn to develop into a bit of a smart ass, as he is seen talking some smack to Baan towards the end of the story, contrary to himself at the beginning where he cowers at most of his father's words. Assessment: Sail is the first character to join to have a ranged normal attack (albeit with an amazing attack distance of two squares) and unfortunately it's rather weak. But after a couple of level ups, with him learning Wild Power, he may boast more firepower in pure strength than even Kakeru and Eto. However, his lack of speed and moving range as a Fighter actually hinders him from being the main attacker most of the time. Learning the D Shift skill doesn't help with the speed either. That said, with both Wild Power and D Shift he gets a favorable boost in both attack and defense. He is the only member in the game that actually changes his job (see Note below). Joining Information: Sail is required to join the group. He joins the group in the Town of Sonia after you talk to Baan a second time. He cannot leave the group after he joins. Lv 30 Statistics: Maximum HP 172 Strength 90 Range 2 Defense 67 Concentration 36 Agility 65 Magic Power 31 Move Power 3/5 Will 50 Jump 2/10 Luck 49 Skills: ? Long Throw (Fighter) Scattering Breath (Dragon Knight) ? Wild Power ? D Shift Special Ability: Weakling (Fighter) [Damage Inflicted -5%; Damage Taken -15%] Dragon's Spirit (Dragon Knight) [Damage Inflicted +10%; Damage Taken -10%; AP +10] Notes: Before Sail becomes a Dragon Knight his Class is Fighter, his Elemental Alignment is Water, his Move Power and Jump are less, his first skill is Long Throw, and his Special Ability is Weakling. The rest of his statistics remain identical after he becomes a Dragon Knight. -------- エト Eto -------- Sex: Male. Race: Human. Class: Swordsman. Elemental Alignment: Light. Eyes: Brown. Hair: Black and long. Weapon & Armor: Standard sword. Somewhat heavy armor including a shield, a cape, and a helmet that covers his eyes. Originally From: Minerva Continent. First Sighted: Raymond Kingdom in the crowd calling out to Kakeru and Sail. Story & Background: Eto is the enigmatic character that joins up. Throughout the story, he seems to know quite a bit about what is going to happen and always seems to know more than he is letting on. He, like Kakeru, is always surrounded by the ladies. No one really knows what he looks like underneath his helmet, until Natasha confronts him about the charm she gave Kakeru before he set off for his adventure, which somehow ended up in his hands. After trying to come up with an excuse--and failing miserably in the process--Eto finally reveals to her that he is indeed Kakeru, but from the future, sent back in time. Assessment: Eto is a well balanced member with some good skills. His leveling up pattern will allow him to have more range than Kakeru; to be specific, he'll learn Shock Wave Lv 2 fairly quickly. He's the only character in the game that has the Return skill, which is invaluable for leveling up your members or getting out of a sticky situation. He's also the only character that has Protection as one of his innately-learned skills. Because of his mandatory participation in battle, the chance of him leveling up is increased. He also boasts a higher defense than the Archers and Sorcerers, and his Protection skill can help defend them, especially if they are in the middle of a incantation and cannot afford to be interrupted. Joining Information: Eto is required to join the group. He joins the group in Raymond Kingdom in the midst of the first appearance of the Black Fog. He cannot leave the group after he joins. Lv 30 Statistics: Maximum HP 134 Strength 79 Range 1 Defense 100 Concentration 36 Agility 58 Magic Power 38 Move Power 4 Will 100 Jump 2 Luck 51 Skills: ? Shock Wave ? Return ? Protection Special Ability: Battle Hardened [Damage Taken -20%; When attacking, additional damage is added on top depending on Lv] ------------------ ナターシャ Natasha ------------------ Sex: Female. Race: Human. Class: Sorcerer. Elemental Alignment: Fire. Eyes: Green. Hair: Orange and medium-length. Weapon & Armor: A Sorcerer's staff. A white outfit and skirt outlined with a black and golden pattern. Originally From: Minerva Continent. First Sighted: In Minerva Continent in the village where Kakeru resides, when the game shows a young Kakeru throwing her yellow and black colored dress up. Story & Background: Natasha has known Kakeru ever since they were both children. She was constantly being teased by Kakeru throughout their childhood. However, she has strong feelings for him--so much so that she even decided to follow him after he left to go on his adventure (though she won't admit it at first and only indicated that she's on this trip to train to be a great sorceress like her mother and even go as far as calling the charm she made for Kakeru a “Bad Luck” Charm). She's somewhat of a small and fiery chili pepper because she's always seen arguing with Kakeru. But beyond that facade lays her secret love for her childhood friend. During her journey she has also developed a strange attraction to Eto, for reasons that she cannot even comprehend, until she found out Eto’s true identity. Assessment: Not counting the optional Nereid, Natasha is the first Sorcerer that can potentially join the group. Though she may have strong magical attack powers, one may find her to usually stay behind the front line and cast Cure on the front group members. She's also the only character that has the powerful Excalibur spell as an innately- learned skill. Since members can earn experience points even through supporting skills, she might level up faster than your other characters busy destroying the enemy side. Joining Information: Natasha is required to join the group. She joins the group in the Town of Ulysses, shortly after Caron brings her to safety, while being in a weakened state. She cannot leave the group after she joins. Lv 30 Statistics: Maximum HP 103 Strength 41 Range 1 Defense 50 Concentration 98 Agility 45 Magic Power 74 Move Power 3 Will 91 Jump 1 Luck 62 Skills: ? Cure ? Fire ? Excalibur Special Ability: Quick Magic [Incantation Time -15%; Magic Effectiveness +5%] --------------- ネレイド Nereid --------------- Sex: Female. Race: Human. Class: Sorcerer. Elemental Alignment: Wind. Eyes: Green. Hair: Red and partly braided while held together by white ribbons. Weapon & Armor: Wooden staff. A loose yellow body suit, covered by a cloak. Originally From: Unknown. First Sighted: In the Town of Ulysses, inside a Storehouse while being tied up in rope and while wearing nothing but her pink underwear. Story & Background: Nereid is a sorcerer in training who refused to join up with Luciphon's minions. Has a (not so secret) crush on Eto but seems to have a low self-confidence when it comes to her looks. Assessment: Nereid is one of the few characters that innately learns the Attack spell, which is quite important when it comes to giving an offensive boost to the group members up front. Her Lightning spell can be useful when you can get her near a cluster of enemies, but her slow movement and range sometimes tends to prevent her from being a force to be reckoned with. The Silence spell is also effective against nasty supped-up foes, but again, her slow speed and low move power may cause her to miss the chance to use it. Joining Information: Nereid is not required to join the group. She is available to be recruited from Toruhesu in the Town of Ulysses, but only after Kakeru or Eto saves her from being tied up in some rope while being stuck inside a Storehouse. She cannot leave the group after she joins. Lv 30 Statistics: Maximum HP 96 Strength 44 Range 1 Defense 39 Concentration 59 Agility 56 Magic Power 100 Move Power 3 Will 70 Jump 1 Luck 56 Skills: ? Lightning ? Attack ? Silence Special Ability: Quick Magic [Incantation Time -15%; Magic Effectiveness +5%] --------------- カルタス Cultus --------------- Other Pronunciations: Karutasu. Sex: Male. Race: Human. Class: Swordsman. Elemental Alignment: Earth. Eyes: Blue. Hair: Unknown. Weapon & Armor: Standard sword. Light armor, a spiked helmet, and shield. Originally From: Unknown. First Sighted: Town of Ulysses. Story & Background: Cultus is somewhat of a boastful-, prim Donna-type character, but he still respects Kakeru and Eto. He has a crush on Marlene and is always looking for a chance to talk with her. Overall, he's a reliable and good-hearted member of the group. Assessment: Outside of Kakeru and Eto, Cultus is the first Swordsman that can join the group. He's also the first member to have the Parrying skill already learned (unless Kakeru is fairly leveled) and can be seen utilizing it at a fairly successful rate. He's one of the three characters in the game that learns the E Blessing skill innately, which is very helpful late in the game when looking to do elemental chain damage. Joining Information: Cultus is not required to join the group. He is available to be recruited from Toruhesu in the Town of Ulysses automatically. He cannot leave the group after he joins. Lv 30 Statistics: Maximum HP 133 Strength 59 Range 1 Defense 96 Concentration 28 Agility 58 Magic Power 31 Move Power 4 Will 87 Jump 2 Luck 51 Skills: ? Shock Wave ? Parrying ? E Blessing Special Ability: Shield Guard [Damage Taken -20%] ------------ カロン Caron ------------ Other Pronunciations: Karon. Sex: Male. Race: Human. Class: Knight. Elemental Alignment: Water. Eyes: Purplish brown. Hair: Brown. Weapon & Armor: Halberd. Thick armor, a headband and a cape. Originally From: Unknown. First Sighted: Outside the eastern exit of the Town of Ulysses on horseback, calling out for assistance to help Natasha. Story & Background: Caron first appears on the scene as a valiant knight on horseback who saved Natasha's life. But his next set of actions reveal that he's actually a lover of young boys, and his main object of affection is none other than Kakeru. His words and actions throughout the game are all quite humorous but he can still be serious when it comes to fighting. Because of the way he is, he may be the only man that Eto would trust to share sleeping quarters with the female party members, for he's a gentleman, and seems only interested in Kakeru. Assessment: Being a horse rider means the Caron's mobility is quite high and can move very far. But once he learns the D Shift skill, he might be one of the slower party members if he doesn't get some added oomph via Agility Seeds. However, his Move Power paired with the Backstab skill can allow him to attack enemies from behind and inflict critical hits at a high percentage rate. In essence, he's a solid member with an overall high defense rating. Joining Information: Caron is required to join the group. He joins the group before the beginning of the Ulysses Rabinia Battle. He cannot leave the group after he joins. Lv 30 Statistics: Maximum HP 145 Strength 77 Range 1 Defense 43 Concentration 30 Agility 61 Magic Power 27 Move Power 5 Will 41 Jump 1 Luck 53 Skills: ? Slash ? D Shift ? Backstab Special Ability: Guts [AP Damage -70%] ------------------- ゴロンゴン Gorongon ------------------- Sex: Male. Race: Human. Class: Knight. Elemental Alignment: Wind. Eyes: Brown. Hair: Green. Weapon & Armor: Scimitar. Brown shirt covered by green and heavy armored padding with gold lining. Originally From: Unknown. First Sighted: Town of Rabinia. Story & Background: Gorongon is the only other character who isn't really interested in the opposite sex, but unlike Caron, he's not interested in the same sex either. Gorongon seems to have an insatiable fascination with...bananas (yes, bananas). Once he joins the group, he can be continually seen near the banana stands in every town and village, and is either talking or singing about the beauty of bananas. His dream is to be the owner of a banana store chain once the fight against Luciphon is over. Assessment: If compared directly with Caron, you'll find Gorongon to have a higher attack rating. This is due to his Wild Power skill. Because he's not slowed down by D Shift, he can be constantly seen on the front lines. The Recovery skill can allow him to take some punishment. Because the Slow spell isn't terribly effective compared to other skills, it might not be very viable to use it on a regular basis. And also, since he doesn't have a true offensive skill, it would be a good idea for him to get one for his fourth skill slot. Gorongon’s Special Ability Survival can be treated as one no-death card for every Round of battle. That working in conjunction with Recovery will make Gorongon a very hard character to kill by the enemies. This must be all those bananas that he eats. Joining Information: Gorongon is not required to join the group. He is available to be recruited from Toruhesu in the Town of Rabinia automatically. He cannot leave the group after he joins. Lv 30 Statistics: Maximum HP 149 Strength 71 Range 1 Defense 82 Concentration 27 Agility 54 Magic Power 26 Move Power 5 Will 46 Jump 1 Luck 43 Skills: ? Recovery ? Slow ? Wild Power Special Ability: Survival [When remaining HP >= 2, and in a situation when the opponent's attack would bring HP <= 0, death will be avoided and HP = 1] -------------------- ネプチューン Neptune -------------------- Sex: Female. Race: Human. Class: Swordsman. Elemental Alignment: Water. Eyes: Green. Hair: Blonde and wavy. Weapon & Armor: Two-handed sword. A white leotard that allows for safe movement, spiked bracelets on both upper arms, and a blue and red striped bandana wrapped around her hair. Originally From: Port City of Sheborz. First Sighted: In the Town of Rabinia, where Kakeru catches Eto in a corner, up to his usual ways in trying to convince pretty ladies to join. Story & Background: Neptune is the daughter of a fisherman who got killed by Luciphon's Army. Fond of the ocean, she can be seen paying respects to Poseidon, the God of Sea for good fortunes. She's normally very nice, outspoken, straightforward, and someone who's not into small talk. She does, still, have a feminine side. She had jealousy towards another woman: Marlene. Not aware why everyone, especially Eto, was so interested in Marlene, she made harsh comments about not wanting her in the party. To her surprise and horror, this almost made Eto drive her out of the party. But she later explained she was just frustrated from the attention that Marlene was getting and didn't really have anything against her as a person. She told Eto that she'll behave like a good girl and won't bring the matter up any more, and begged him not to kick her off the party. She has since then not brought up the subject and was even found having girl-to- girl chats with Natasha later. Assessment: Being the only character that has a two-handed sword, it is appealing to have her on the battle field. However, as more members join the group, her then already-not-so- distinctive skills might become lost in the shuffle. Neptune has a high attack rating, and even more so once she fully learns Wild Power. She can pierce through enemies' defenses with more ease compared to other Swordsmen such as Kakeru and Eto due to her Competitive Nature ability, which taps on an additional 15% damage. But with other characters joining up, unless she is used plenty, she may be one of the slower-leveling characters on your side because she will not learn Sprint until she's leveled up quite a bit, often leaving nothing for her by the time she gets up front. Having Shock Wave is a good complimentary skill, but being a frontline battler, it might have been more fitting if she had Slash. Overall, a powerhouse character that can be employed, but her somewhat low defense will put her in a jam time to time. Keep a healer nearby. Joining Information: Neptune is not required to join the group. She is available to be recruited from Toruhesu in the Town of Rabinia automatically. She can leave the group after her joining. See the Notes below. Lv 30 Statistics: Maximum HP 140 Strength 83 Range 1 Defense 61 Concentration 28 Agility 49 Magic Power 27 Move Power 4 Will 69 Jump 2 Luck 65 Skills: ? Shock Wave ? Wild Power ? Sprint Special Ability: Competitive Nature [Damage Inflicted +15%] Notes: During Eto's story route, an incident occurs at the Port City of Sheborz, in which Eto talks to Neptune about her behavior towards Marlene. Neptune will leave the group permanently if you as the player choose not to forgive her for her comments about Marlene. Be careful not to accidentally kick her off. ------------------ マルレーネ Marlene ------------------ Sex: Female. Race: Demon. Class: Archer. Elemental Alignment: Earth. Eyes: Blue. Hair: Silver and long, partly braided and held together with small red ribbons. Weapon & Armor: A sword by her waist attached to her belt and a crossbow (preferred). A red, loose sleeveless shirt and a black miniskirt. Originally From: Demon World. First Sighted: In the game's introduction watching her sister Mano making love with Luciphon (as Ino). At the entrance of the ravaged Elven Village of Trianon lying helplessly (as Marlene). Story & Background: Marlene is the first non-human character and Archer to join the group. She appears to be of Elven origin, signified by the long, pointy ears. That, coupled with her relatively dark skin, led some to have even questioned her as being a Dark Elf, which isn't true since Dark and Light Elves have no true significance in this story. When first meeting her, Marlene appears to want revenge against Luciphon and his minions like the others do. This notion was later complicated by the fact that both Elves Mayfair and Claris, natives of the Village of Trianon, claimed to have never seen Marlene before. However, as the story progresses, it is shown that there is more to her than what meets the eye. Throughout most of the game, she feels comfortable in being with Kakeru in a personal and intimate sense. It isn't revealed until the end of Kakeru's story that she is indeed a critical character in the story of Dragon Knight 4 when she sends Kakeru back in time (see Eto). After she had enough of Eto's constant badgering as to her true identity, she finally reveals to him after a voyage that she is the daughter of the Demon King Minax. Assessment: Marlene's participation in battle is mandatory, hence she'll get many chances to level up. First, she's an Archer, which means she can attack from a range. Her strength doesn't lie in her normal attacks, but in her spells. Being the only character with the Earth Grave spell innately learned means she has the farthest- reaching offensive magic in the game, or at least until someone learns Excalibur. She can also double-in as a healer in a pinch. Marlene might be viewed as perhaps the most important member in the group because she is also the only character that has the Clock Up spell in her arsenal. Though it takes a while to finish the chant, once chanted she can allow any character--outside of herself--to either (1) give a member another turn if the member hasn't already had his or her turn or (2) have his or her turn come up immediately. Her ranged attacking ability makes her a solid candidate to stay behind the front line troops in a secondary or tertiary role. And due to her substandard Move Power, she will most likely be doing just that anyhow. Joining Information: Marlene is required to join the group. She joins in the Village of Trianon after she recovers in bed from the attack and tells her story to Kakeru and Eto. She leaves the group on a few occasions toward the end of both Kakeru's and Eto's stories on her own will, but does return eventually for the final confrontation against Luciphon. Lv 30 Statistics: Maximum HP 124 Strength 68 Range 3 Defense 58 Concentration 74 Agility 57 Magic Power 77 Move Power 3 Will 71 Jump 2 Luck 58 Skills: ? Cure ? Earth Grave ? Clock Up Special Ability: Hawkeye [Accuracy +20%] ------------------ メイフェア Mayfair ------------------ Sex: Female. Race: Elf. Class: Archer. Elemental Alignment: Water. Eyes: Turquoise. Hair: Blonde and long. Weapon & Armor: Bow and arrows. A green sleeveless shirt and a white miniskirt. A red, black, and gold patterned headband. Originally From: Village of Trianon. First Sighted: Trianon Sheborz Battle (Kakeru Campaign). Port City of Sheborz (Eto Campaign). Story & Background: Compared to Claris, Mayfair is the more gentle and feminine, albeit also more naive, one. They are both survivors of the onslaught that happened at their village, and would like nothing more than to avenge the villagers by killing Luciphon. Assessment: Mayfair is similar to her sister in almost every way except in having a lower offensive rating and a higher defensive rating. Like Marlene, it would be unwise to make her a primary attacker because she will be abused plenty if placed in the front lines. Instead, her supporting spells of Shield and Life Song (the only character with Life Song innately learned) can be quite beneficial to the party members in the front. And if looking to give her some experience points, her Freeze spell will finish off any stray enemies that come close. Given the same chances as her sister, she may be easier to level up because she has more support spells at her disposal early on. Overall, she's a decent member but given the strict 12 member limit and the lack of a need for Archers in this version of the game, it will be hard to argue a spot for her without being swayed by better alternatives. Joining Information: Mayfair is generally not required to join the group, but may be under one circumstance (see Notes below). She is available to be recruited from Toruhesu in the Port City of Sheborz provided she was rescued in the Trianon Sheborz Battle (Kakeru Campaign) or automatically (Eto Campaign). She cannot leave the group after she joins. Lv 30 Statistics: Maximum HP 109 Strength 62 Range 3 Defense 80 Concentration 94 Agility 50 Magic Power 73 Move Power 3 Will 62 Jump 2 Luck 57 Skills: ? Freeze ? Shield ? Life Song Special Ability: Hawkeye [Accuracy +20%] Notes: In recruiting Mayfair and Claris two situations can happen depending on the current campaign: In Kakeru's Campaign... (1) If you saved Mayfair in the Trianon Sheborz Battle, she will be available to be recruited from Toruhesu in the Port City of Sheborz, and you can then decide whether to take her or Claris. (Join-up Optional.) (2) If you did not save Mayfair in the Trianon Sheborz Battle, she will not be available to be recruited from Toruhesu in the Port City of Sheborz and you will be forced to take Claris to continue the game. (Claris Join-up Required.) In Eto's Campaign... (1) If you saved Claris in the Trianon Sheborz Battle, both Mayfair and Claris will be available to be recruited from Toruhesu in the Port City of Sheborz and you can then decide whether to take her or Claris. (Join-up Optional.) (2) If you did not save Claris in the Trianon Sheborz Battle, Mayfair would be the only one available to be recruited from Toruhesu in the Port City of Sheborz and you will be forced to take her to continue the game. (Mayfair Join-up Required.) You cannot get both of them to join your party at the same time, making the Mayfair or Claris H-Scene the only H-Scene in the game that the player must play the game again a second time for in order to get. --------------- クラリス Claris --------------- Sex: Female. Race: Elf. Class: Archer. Elemental Alignment: Wind. Eyes: Green. Hair: Blonde and long. Weapon & Armor: Bow and arrows. A green sleeveless shirt and a white miniskirt. A blue, black, and gold patterned headband. Originally From: Village of Trianon. First Sighted: Port City of Sheborz (Kakeru Campaign). Trianon Sheborz Battle (Eto Campaign). Story & Background: Claris looks identical to her sister Mayfair except for two differences: her headband's diamond pattern is filled with the color blue, not red, and her eyes are green instead of turquoise. Now, if one were to assume that just because Claris and Mayfair are twins that they must be similar in personality, he or she would be in for an eye opener. Claris is one feisty girl with a crude attitude and a potty mouth that cusses like a sailor to go with all of that. Throughout the story, her true self will emerge past the facade that she just puts on to hide it. She does express her feminine side though, but only in small amounts. Assessment: To continue the theme of comparison of these two sisters, Claris is distinct from her sister in that she has higher offensive ratings and lower defensive ratings. For someone whose job isn't a Sorcerer, she is a considerably strong magic user, which is good since most of her spells will rely on her actually making the hit on the enemy. Despite being an Archer and having range, her main offensive weapon is her Lightning spell. However, she would probably best be served by utilizing the Shock skill to stun enemies, even though her success rate at that is somewhat low. With that said, her best option might very well be casting Whirlwind (she's the only character that has it innately learned) in order to speed up herself and her nearby friends. She will not learn Whirlwind until she's a bit leveled up and hence might make her harder to level up than Mayfair when given the same chances. Joining Information: Claris is generally not required to join the group, but may be under one circumstance (see Mayfair Notes above). She is available to be recruited from Toruhesu automatically (Kakeru Campaign) or provided she was rescued in the Trianon Sheborz Battle (Eto Campaign). Lastly, she cannot leave the group after she joins. A lavishly fashioned pink and black patterned red gown that offers much more mobility to her than it may look, as well as large hoop earrings. Originally From: Town of Mishiel. First Sighted: Bar in the Port City of Sheborz, dancing on a table with a bunch of drunken sailors and lewd spectators as her audience. Story & Background: Pandora is a professional dancer by trade but also seems to include her body into the mix for the right price. That is just how she earns her money and survives. Her father was murdered by Luciphon's minions in front of her face and she joined up with Kakeru and Eto's troops in order to avenge him, but not before giving them both a little "test": Her bringing Kakeru (and shortly thereafter Eto) into her room for a little fun might classify her as being promiscuous, but she does want to settle down one day with one good man. And that man, as she describes later on, is someone like Kakeru but just older. She enjoys drinking alcohol. If she doesn't join, a lot of CGs and humorous conversations will be missed. Assessment: Pandora's stats are actually quite average and are even bordering on the low end of the spectrum. Still, she is the only member who innately knows the Sword Dance skill, an unique skill that increases Attack and Magic Power, albeit the range on it is small. In fact, that's what
one would likely have her do once she joins in for a
battle. Even if she doesn't chip in the occasional
attack or toast some enemies with a dose of Fire, at
least she can just use the instantaneous Sword Dance
skill on herself and nearby friends to earn experience
                      points and level up.

Joining Information: Pandora is not required to join the group. She joins in
the Port City of Sheborz after speaking to her in the Bar.
Agreeing to do the wild thing with her in her room on the
second floor is optional after speaking to her. She
cannot leave the group after she joins.

Sex: Male.

Race: Human.

Class: Ninja.

Elemental Alignment: Earth.

Eyes: Unknown.

Hair: Red and long.

Weapon & Armor: Katana. Blue-colored ninja garb and a black face mask.

Originally From: Romboni Kingdom.

First Sighted: Port City of Cararp, gathering information about Luciphon
and relaying it back to the King of Romboni.

Story & Background: Santos is an intelligence agent who is close and loyal to

the King of Romboni. In Cararp, Santos ran into Kakeru
and Eto and was quite fascinated about how this party was
able to fight off Luciphon's men. At Romboni, he finally
asked the King of Romboni a request: to submit himself
to the Training Facility in hopes of able to join this
amazing bunch, not only to defeat Luciphon, but also be
out and to fulfill his inner desires of being an
adventurer. Santos's curiosity is sometimes overwhelming.
He pesters Kakeru and Eto from time to time asking about
their private conversations with other people.

Assessment: Santos's entrance marks the first opportunity for the
group to acquire a Ninja, a class whose strengths lie in
their abilities to move fast, far, and even over and
through obstacles. His skills are mostly offensive based
and he is one of the few characters that will innately
learn Silence, a fitting complement to his repertoire.
But perhaps other than his cool movements and dodging
acts is the fact that he is the only character who
innately learns the Soul Steal skill, which is an
amazingly hard hitting spell. Though the Backstab would
definitely allow him to hit harder, he is slowed down
quite a bit when he is making incantations. Having him
learn Sprint as his 4th Skill is an option to remedy that.

Joining Information: Santos is not required to join the group. He is
available to be recruited from Toruhesu automatically in
Romboni Kingdom. He cannot leave the group after he
                      joins.

Elemental Alignment: Wind.

Eyes: Blue.

Hair: Brown and bearded.

Weapon & Armor: His prized cannon. A greenish gray shirt and pants along
with rugged shoulder and arm protection, and a cap and a
                      pair of white gloves.

Originally From: Town of Mishiel.

First Sighted: Romboni Kingdom.

Story & Background: He hails from the Town of Mishiel and was actually the
leader of their defense force there until it was
decimated by Luciphon's men, forcing him to retreat to
Romboni Kingdom. He is one of the few no-nonsense
members of your group and is never distracted about the
task at hand, and that is to defeat Luciphon and restore
peace to the land. But throughout this journey with
Kakeru and Eto, even the often serious Gallivant has
started to wonder what it would be like to go out and
have an adventure all over the world.

Assessment: Gallivant's entrance in the Kingdom of Romboni would
potentially allow him to be the first Cannoneer to join
you. Cannoneers have the advantage of hitting hard from
a long range, but the disadvantage of slow movement.
Gallivant will actually develop into quite a nice
character partly due to his D Shift and Wild Power skills,
which will increase both his defense and his offense
respectively. Perhaps the most interesting aspect about
him is his innately learned Teleport skill, which
actually allow him to bypass not just obstacles, but
bodies of water, making him a dangerous character that
can strike just about anywhere. He won't learn this
skill until he is quite leveled up though. Therefore, in
the mean time, give him plenty of chances to try to pelt
the enemies from a range. For his 4th Skill, consider
giving him Sprint to increase his speed, or Long Shot to
                      give him additional range.

Joining Information: Gallivant is not required to join the group. He is
immediately available to be recruited from Toruhesu in
the Training Facility of Romboni Kingdom. He cannot
leave the group after he joins.

Elemental Alignment: Fire.

Eyes: Brown.

Hair: Red, tied into two buns (Chun-Li style!).

Weapon & Armor: Jousting lance. A white, loose outfit, over which has a
gold patterned and dark gray gorget. A short skirt and
long white stockings with a large shield by her side and
a white cape to protect her from harm.

Originally From: Romboni Kingdom.

First Sighted: In front of the eastern exit of Romboni Kingdom.

Story & Background: When Luciphon's army arrived at Romboni, the King ordered
his only daughter Bianca to go under cover to avoid
capture and her servant Ana to keep watch of her. Bianca
is somewhat of an oddball: While she seem to take up a
variety of hobbies that may be more masculine in nature,
such as horseback riding, swordplay, and jousting, she
tries hard to act like she's different from other female
characters. In fact, she's quite spoiled. She also
seems to do a poor job of trying to sound masculine,
which both Kakeru and Eto found strange. One thing for
sure was her judgment of men, where her measuring
criteria is how good a man is with the sword. Bianca was
not too thrilled that her skills were not even tested
when Eto welcomed her to the party. Without knowing
Eto's background, she challenged him and promptly lost.
After that encounter, her attitude has dramatically
changed and she no longer looked into this journey as a
way to satisfy her ego, but to make certain that she and
Eto will become a couple by the end of this battle.

Assessment: Bianca rides a horse, which means she has good movement
capabilities, but be careful when placing her on the
front lines because she may be targeted by enemies often.
She has, both, good offensive skills in Slash and Magic
in Lightning, and she can also double in as a healer on
the frontlines with the Cure spell. But since her
participation in battle is optional, her Cure spell might
not even be needed with the likes of Natasha and Marlene
around. Overall she's a character you can do with or
                      without on the battlefield.

Joining Information: Bianca first shows up in the Kingdom of Romboni when you
approach the east gate. She'll stop you and will ask to
join you, to which you can accept or decline. Her
joining the party is optional and you can definitely move
on as long as you have already selected Santos or
Gallivant from the Training Facility. But just know you
will miss some CGs by not having her join.

Class: Ninja.

                      skirt.

Originally From: Unknown.

First Sighted: Town of Mishiel.

Story & Background: To say Sayla is a proud character is actually quite an
understatement. She's extremely proud of everything
about her: her figure, her looks, and especially the
long, slender, sexy legs of hers, as she mentions every
single time Kakeru and Eto talk to her. That's what she
is like the first time the group runs into her in the
Town of Mishiel. Also, though not very apparent, there
is a reason why she is so conscious about her figure:
It was not through a conversation Kakeru had with her,
one may never find out that she was actually quite a fat
and chubby girl at an early age and had to work really
hard to get to where she is. She is also romantically
involved with Loydon in secret. Also, you usually do not
find a supporting character giving opinions about another
support character. But there is an exception with Sayla.
In the Port City of Tasta during Eto’s story, where she
was tired of Loydon only concentrating on his writings
instead of her, she was found contemplating about having
an affair with another man in order to make him jealous,
she ends up giving her assessments (to Eto) about what
she thinks of each of the male characters in the party as
a potential candidate and her reasons for dismissing them
as possibilities before eventually arriving at the
                      decision of choosing Eto.
Kakeru ? He’s already with Natasha
                      Sail ? He’s a little young and na?ve.
Cultus ? He is too pompous.
                      Caron ? He’s gay.
                      Gorongon ? He’s weird.
Santos ? She’s not interested in him.
                      Gallivant ? He’s too serious.
                      Pierre ? He’s just a kid.
Rabitt ? He’s weird and says “Nyo Nyo” all the time.
Powell ? Too much like an old man.
                      * She will not give her opinion about Vulcan even if you
had him join the group before talking to Sayla. She
obviously won’t provide an opinion about Nekuramancer as
it is not possible to have both of them in the party
during story mode. Finally, she will not say anything
about Trull because he has not made his appearance yet
at that point of the story. *

Assessment: Sayla, or Legs as some may refer to her as, actually does
her attacks not with her kunai, but rather using her long,
slender, and sexy legs of hers (why does she carry a
weapon again?). She is gifted in the sense that she is
quite swift in her steps when you first acquire her and
even quicker after Sprint is learned. All this, in
addition to having both of the offensive and defensive
support skills in her arsenal (Attack and Shield). She
doesn't hit very hard physically. It would be unwise to
let her stray too far from the main party or she will pay

Hair: Silver.

Weapon & Armor: Pestle. A white and blue sorcerer's garb and a headdress.

Originally From: Unknown.

First Sighted: Town of Mishiel.

Story & Background: Nekuramancer is a stern looking man of few words and
seems to be about as introverted a person as one can
possibly meet. Most of the time he is seen alone and
always mumbling and muttering something under his breath.
Not much known about this person's past.

Assessment: Nekuramancer is actually fairly high in magical ability.
However, being an optional character to join, and even
more optional-looking on the battlefield due to his
skill-set, one may find it is actually not very easy to
level him up. With his slow speed, he often cannot get
into attacking range fast enough or close enough to do
anything. And if he does somehow make it in time, there
may be not much left of the enemy. He is blessed with
the Freeze spell, which he should use as his main
offensive attack given the chance. Don't consider Poison
a good option to use because its success rate is next to
nothing. And though Shock can be a very useful skill,
his success rate at that is also meager. His redeeming
quality lies in his Quick Magic ability, which at least
gives him a little boost in magic speed and power.
Consider giving him Excalibur spell as his 4th Skill
because if he can't get in a chance to attack the enemy
most of the time, he might as well use a far-reaching
spell like Excalibur to help offset that.

ロザリンド Rosalind

Sex: Female.

Race: Human.

Class: Cannoneer.

Elemental Alignment: Fire.

Eyes: Green.

Hair: Orange and tied into two pigtails by yellow ribbons.

Weapon & Armor: Cannon that belonged to the Elder of Mishiel, who
happened to be her grandfather. A simple yellow dress
with a white obi wrapped behind it.

Originally From: Town of Mishiel.

First Sighted: Town of Mishiel, when she sees Kakeru and assumes he is
                      part of Luciphon's army.

Story & Background: To say Rosalind's first impression is explosive is
putting it lightly: literally when Kakeru stepped onto
the Mishiel streets, she's already ready to give him a
blast from her cannon, thinking he's part of Luciphon's
minions. It turns out that her grandfather was killed
when Luciphon's Dragon Knights dropped a giant boulder on
him. She survived only because she went into hiding with
her friends. Now the only thing left is to fight
Luciphon and to avenge her grandfather and those that
perished along with him. And what better way to do just
that than by using his most treasured weapon? Upon
joining, she immediately took a liking to her similarly-
aged counterpart, Sail, and started pursuing his
affection non-stop. Sail, whose heart instead lies with
Marlene, is terrified by these advances and is often
seeking reasons to be distracted from her via Kakeru and
Eto when possible. Though still young, her affection
towards Sail seems to be genuine.

Assessment: If the group missed their chance in getting a Cannoneer
by not recruiting Gallivant prior to, they should
definitely not miss the opportunity this time around with
Rosalind. She may be frail, but her cannon packs a
serious punch! Packaged with Long Shot, Wild Power and
Sprint, these are all the things that allow her to strike
far, hard, and fast! Let's not also forget that her
Competitive Nature ability also adds an additional 15% to
the damage she does, and that coupled with her high
strength growth will spell disaster for most enemies that
are unfortunate to be near her high attacking range. If
you add Teleport as her 4th skill, she's virtually
unstoppable. Though she may be optional, one may just
end up bringing her along for every battle after
realizing how potent she is. Keep her alive and she'll
                      serve the group well.

Joining Information: Rosalind shows up in the Town of Mishiel, the town famous
for its Cannon technology. She mistaken Kakeru for a
minion of Luciphon and tries to attack him. After the
matter is cleared up, she will basically attempt to cry
her way into joining Kakeru's party. You can accept or
decline her offer, and you can continue the game without
having her in the party. However, after she joins, there
is one possible decision you the player may make that may
cause her to leave your party--not immediately, but
eventually after the decision has been made (see Notes

Notes: At the Dragon's Fortress during both Kakeru and Eto's
story, you are offered the chance to play as Sail as we
look at the story briefly through his point of view.
When you speak to Rosalind and she asks Sail if he hates
her, if you answered Yes, Rosalind will start to lose
faith in herself and eventually leave your party and
allow the Black Fog to slowly consume her. To make
matters worse, she'll end up in bed with that sleazebag,
Linus out of self-pity. Don't let this happen to the
                      cutest couple in this game!

Originally From: Village of Hobbit.

First Sighted: Hanging out in the Training Facility of the Village of

Story & Background: Pierre is from the Village of Hobbit. While at a young
age, he is quite proud of his abilities and even boastful
of that fact. He talks a good game, but deep down is
still nervous about going into battle with Luciphon's
army. He does quite respect Kakeru and Eto in their
abilities and just wants to be a hero that everyone will
look up to when the battle with Luciphon is over.

Assessment: The Village of Hobbit marks the first opportunity for the
group to recruit Sweepers. The most notable of their
work is the ability to clear terrain obstacles on the
battlefield. With the ability to earn experience points
through blasting rocks and trees, Pierre can be allowed
to level up quite quickly. His skill set is probably
best fitted out of all Sweeper characters for battle
because he has Wild Power and Shock Wave in his arsenal
and can help chip in damage while he is not busy
                      clearing obstacles for the others.

Joining Information: Pierre is available to be recruited from Toruhesu in the
Training Facility of the Village of the Hobbit. His join

Elemental Alignment: Water.

Eyes: Brown.

Hair: Black and slightly short.

Weapon & Armor: Bombs. Fabric clothing with a large green collar
covering her shoulders and a large green hat that
characterizes the Hobbits (where is your hat, Frodo?).

Originally From: Village of Hobbit.

First Sighted: In the Village of Hobbit, while failing in her experiment
in making bombs, which made her covered with soot and gun
                      powder.

Story & Background: Jeana is often seen as a bumbling girl who can't seem to
get anything right, but can be very strong and helpful in
battle. She can also protect herself quite well, as Eto
can testify. Besides trying her hardest to make the most
powerful bombs, she's still a girl who daydreams. Her
eyes became opened with excitement when she heard the
party will run into White Dragons. She dreamt about what
it would be like to meet a lad who rides the White Dragon,
which she eventually did when she saw Trull.

Assessment: Jeana is a character that is quite interesting to use,
though she does not have very many strong skills other
than Obstacle Blast. Her strong point is in utilizing
the E Blessing skill alongside the Long Throw (for added
range) skill to help contribute in Elemental damage. She
will get plenty of opportunities to earn experience
                      points by blasting obstacles.

Elemental Alignment: Earth.

Eyes: Unknown.

Hair: Blonde and short.

Weapon & Armor: Hand grenades. A bordering white turtle neck covered by
a belt holding grenade shells clipped to his shoulder,
                      along with black pants.

Originally From: Village of Hobbit.

Story & Background: Rabitt is originally from the Village of Hobbit. He is a
character that always seems to have a smile on his face.
He likes to make the "Nyo Nyo" sound in his speech. His
character is quite upbeat, and he is often doing strange
things that even he admits has no real reason for doing.
But underneath the surface, it still shows that he is
quite nervous about fighting Luciphon. His joining of
the group at the Port City of Blades was immediately
followed by the party being stranded out at sea and onto
the Nameless Island. His first action in battle won't be
seen until they reach the Continent of Dragonia.

Assessment: Rabitt is the fastest of all the Sweeper class characters

obstacles long before the rest of the party even needs to

turn even if no enemies are nearby for a good thrashing.
He doesn't have a very high attack rating, so he
shouldn't be considered for the main attack force but he
can be useful in using the occasional Long Throw to help
chip in some damage from the back. However, his high
Agility rating and range may allow him to evade some

attacks and counter with a blast of his own.

Joining Information: Rabitt will be available to be recruited from Toruhesu in
the Training Facility of the Port City of Blades. His
joining is optional and he cannot leave the party once
                      joined.

Race: Human.

Class: Sweeper.

Elemental Alignment: Fire.

Eyes: Unknown.

Hair: Blue and short.

Weapon & Armor: Hand grenades. Light armor consisting of a red
turtleneck, brown vest, orange pants, and a belt holding
                      grenade shells over his shoulder.

Originally From: Town of Mishiel.

First Sighted: Port City of Blades.

Story & Background: Powell's first action in battle won't be until the party
reaches the Continent of Dragonia. Because of his polite
way of speaking, which seems to be of older dialect
(ending every sentence in “de gozaru”), it indicates
that he is a veteran that has seen many years of service.
He is quite amazed at Kakeru's abilities at a young age
and even more so with Eto's leadership of this group of
resistance fighters. He is a fan of Eto after all.

Assessment: Powell's skills mix isn't something too much out of the
ordinary, outside of the Poison skill, which doesn't
seem to have a high success rate (even though Powell
seems to have a fair Magic Power rating). Though he does
seem to have the ability to clear away obstacles and
sensing hidden objects as soon as he joins, one may favor
Rabitt for his better mobility and range.

Joining Information: Powell is available to be recruited from Toruhesu in the
Training Facility of the Port City of Blades. His

Originally From: Romboni Kingdom.

First Sighted: Romboni Mishiel Battle.

Story & Background: She is the best archer in the Kingdom of Romboni and is
often seen with her younger sister Helene. Throughout
the story, Lear can be seen at a number of places. But
being the number one sharpshooter in Romboni has
Luciphon's army on high alert about her abilities, hence
she and Helene are always on the run, and both of them
have suffered quite a great ordeal in the process. She
was eventually forced to fight Kakeru and Eto's party by
Luciphon's minions in order to keep Helene, who was in
Luciphon's army's captivity, alive. After Helene was
freed, so was Lear's obligation and after a series of
convincing conversations from both Kakeru and Eto, as
well as the request of Helene, Lear joins up with the
party. Lear, having been in Luciphon's army previously,
often talks to Kakeru and Eto about her thoughts and
questions about what motives Luciphon has behind this
entire ordeal. Lear is a woman who is extremely
conscious about her looks and often believes many people
do not think she is feminine enough even though she does
have a very nice, womanly figure. It eventually did take
both Kakeru and Eto to give her confidence back.

Assessment: Lear is an archer, and an extremely powerful one at that.
Unlike the other archer characters, who were all more
suited for magic spell casting, her archery skills should
be her main, if not only offensive weapon (as her next to
non-existent Magic Power shows). Like Rosalind, her
skills are all attributes that allow her to strike fast
and far. The Long Shot, once learned fully, will give her
the second longest physical attack range (first being
Rosalind) in the game. Having Sprint means she can move
early and position herself well enough to strike at a
good spot. The Backstab skill will give her an extra
punch should an enemy turn his or her back on Lear's
deadly shots, which is only augmented by her Hawkeye
                      ability.

Joining Information: Lear was first seen being captured (seemingly willingly
in order to learn the location of where her sister Helene
was taken to) during the Romboni Mishiel Battle.
Eventually she shows up as an enemy on Luciphon's side at
the Hobbit Blades Battle. Do not kill her in that battle
and end the battle by capturing the Port City of Blades.
There, she eventually will follow the party as they get
stranded out to sea and onto the Nameless Island.
Finally after finding out that Helene is safe and sound,
she decides to join at the Port City of Tasta. You can
either accept or decline, and it's possible to move on
without her joining. However, once she joins, she cannot
leave the party. Again, it is the same drill that if
she does not join, you would miss quite a bit of CGs and
                      a good character in battle.

ターニャン Tanyan

Sex: Female.

Race: Cat Human.

Class: Ninja.

Elemental Alignment: Water.

Eyes: Blue.

Hair: Blue and short.

Weapon & Armor: Claws and paws. Black shirt and long light-beige pants.
Neck collar with a bell attached.

Originally From: Unknown.

First Sighted: Port City of Tasta while bumping into Kakeru.

Story & Background: Tanyan is a cat burglar; literally and figuratively.
After Tanyan bumped into Kakeru, he noticed that the
Charm that Natasha once made him was missing and went
to question her, followed by a nearly complete body
search. This got the attention of Natasha, who only
thought Kakeru is picking on Tanyan and was about to go
off on him. A disinterested Tanyan eventually got fed up
and gave back the Charm to Kakeru. Natasha was
astonished Kakeru would value it so much as to consider
it a treasure. Tanyan quickly signed herself up in
Toruhesu's books to allow herself to be recruited so she
can go out and steal some real treasure from Luciphon's
                      army and eventually Luciphon himself!

Assessment: Tanyan is a Ninja class character, which means she has
very high mobility and speed. Her Steal skill will allow
for defeated enemies to drop either seeds or scrolls:
this is further augmented by her Cat's Paw ability.
Tanyan's E Blessing skill is also helpful to contribute
Elemental damage to a target, and though she doesn't have
the highest magic rating by any means, her success rate
with Shock seems to be higher than any one else's. Maybe
her high luck growth does have something to do with this.
At any rate, keep her around if you want to be rewarded
with lots of goodies from each battle.

Joining Information: Tanyan's name will not be available on Toruhesu's list
of recruits in the Port City of Tasta initially. But
after her run-in with Kakeru and Natasha, she submitted
her name to the list without Toruhesu's knowing (sneaky,
sneaky). Her joining is optional and she cannot leave
                      the party once joined.

Sex: Male.

Race: Human.

Class: Cannoneer.

Elemental Alignment: Earth.

Eyes: Gray.

Hair: Blue but balding and thick beard.

Weapon & Armor: Lavishly decorated cannon. Light beige shirt, brown
pants, and thick and heavy black padding.

Originally From: Port City of Po.

First Sighted: Port City of Tasta.

Story & Background: Vulcan is the captain of Tasta's defense forces. But he
was beaten back pretty badly. Vulcan is someone who
seemed to have seen his fair share of battles and
experiences for his age, but he still considers himself a
very eligible bachelor and is constantly trying to find
girls who will marry him. He asks any woman out there
willing to wash his underwear for him, and these are his
exact words for a marriage proposal! He has his sights
set on Marlene, but like she does with most other male
members of the party, outside of Kakeru and Eto, she just
mostly ignores him, which irritates him to no end.

Assessment: Vulcan is the group's last shot at having a Cannoneer in
its faction. His abilities make him kind of similar to
that of Gallivant--with some exception in that he
actually makes enemies drop items with the Steal Skill
and is able to move fast because of Sprint. Consider
giving him Long Shot to increase his effective range.

Joining Information: Vulcan is automatically available to be recruited from
Toruhesu in the Training Facility in the Port City of
Tasta. His joining is optional and he cannot leave the
                      party once he joins.

Other Pronunciations: Toruru.

Sex: Male.

Race: Human.

Class: Dragon Knight.

Elemental Alignment: Wind.

Eyes: Blue.

Hair: Red.

Weapon & Armor: Megaphone. Green and blue colored outfit and a green
                      headband wrapped around his head.

Originally From: Town of Mishiel.

First Sighted: Dragon's Fort's entrance.

Story & Background: Trull is the only human tolerated by the White Dragons as
he lives and grows up with them. He was brought into
Dragon's Nest actually 15 years ago, when the White
Dragon named Rasukasu took him as an infant from the Town
of Mishiel on a whim. Since then Trull has become
inseparable with the White Dragons and believes he is
actually a Dragon in human form. Trull was not happy
that a group of humans was able to enter the fort of
the White Dragons. Upon the Elder Yakobu realizing
Sail's true nature, Trull was told that he could finally
be brought back to the human world and asks Sail to take
care of him and see this through.

Assessment: Since he rides the White Dragon Sairesu into battle,
Trull is a Dragon Knight, hence he has quite good
mobility and movement, but may be considered to be one of
the slower members of the party. Trull seems to have a
fair success rate to get Slow to work on the target. His
Recovery will help him heal up some of his wounds should
he be placed near or close to the front lines. Basically,
since Sail is already a Dragon Knight and is required to
attend, the need for Trull to show up in battle might not
be so high. This was not the case in the original
version of the game, when he was part of only but a
handful of members allowed to attack flying Dragon Knight
                      enemies.

Joining Information: Trull joins the party at the Fort of the White Dragons
automatically when Sail found out about his true self as
a Dragon Knight. His joining happens automatically, but
participation in battle is optional. Once he joins, he
                      cannot leave the party.

ロイドン Loydon
---------------
Other Pronunciations: Roidon.

Sex: Male.

Race: Human.

Class: Swordsman.

Elemental Alignment: Water.

Eyes: Brown.

Hair: Black and long.

Weapon & Armor: Books. Fabric clothing with a green jacket.

Originally From: Unknown.

First Sighted: Dining Hall in the Town of Ulysses.

Story & Background: Loydon is a fictionist who is looking for writing a great
adventure and to make a name for himself in the world.
Since first meeting the group in Ulysses, he follows
their every step. Every time Kakeru and Eto have some
interesting news to report about their journey, he always
asks them about the information, and always seems to pay
them back in kind for their information. Loydon is
romantically involved with Sayla in secret, but seems to
still put more emphasis on getting his book finished.

Assessment: As a Swordsman, Loydon attacks with a giant book. With
him joining the party on the battle field as late as he
does, he may be one of the weakest links on the group
unless one puts forth an effort to get him involved in
the action. However, since he earns 1.5x more experience
points than the others per action, he still has the
ability to get his share of level ups. If you are
serious in getting the world's next great novelist
leveled up, consider giving him a support spell such as
Attack or Shield, or if you're really lucky, Distortion,
and have him remain behind the frontlines at all times.

Joining Information: Loydon will make up his mind and join you on the battle
field when the party reaches the Port City of Dino. His
join is required and he cannot leave after joining the
                      party.

III Non Playable Characters
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------
ヤマト・タケル Yamato Takeru
----------------------------
Takeru (Dragon Knight I, II, III) is Kakeru's father and was the hero of the
previous three games. He first met his wife, Luna, in Strawberry Fields: a
territory where only females reside, or perhaps more commonly known as the
"Paradise of Men," in Dragon Knight I. During the course of Dragon Knight III,
he learns he is a descendent of God. He has been praised continually by all
across the land as the "Legendary Swordsman" for his heroic efforts in
defeating the horrendous Demon King Deed single-handedly. In raising Kakeru,
Takeru is lenient in his ways; for example, when he and Luna catch Kakeru
drinking alcohol, Takeru laughs heartily asking him if it tasted delicious. He
likes that Kakeru takes very much after him. After a letter arrives from his
good friend Baan, he sends Kakeru off on an adventure by himself to go meet
Baan, telling him he left at around his age (15) and he should also do the same.
Aside from a vague, far-away shot with him and Luna in the background waving
to Kakeru as he sets off on his journey, Takeru's face is never shown in this
game.

---------
ルナ Luna
---------
Luna (Dragon Knight I, II, III) is Kakeru's mother. She has red medium-length
hair. She wears a loose white gown and is adorned by a gold-colored circlet:
the same outfit that she has been wearing throughout the series. She married
Takeru after Dragon Knight III, in which she also accompanied him, along with
the Dragon Knight, Baan. She can be seen nursing Kakeru in the introduction.
She is concerned very much for Kakeru's well-being as to her as Kakeru will
Always be a child in her eyes.

-----------
バーン Baan
-----------
Baan (Dragon Knight II, III) is one of the few Dragon Knights left in this
world: A book written claims that he is the last Dragon Knight left. After
helping Takeru and Luna on their journey to defeat Deed in Dragon Knight III,
Baan has taken up residence in the Town of Sonia, whose entire female
population with the exception of Marian all left town (including Baan's wife!)
because of Linus's antics. Though once a Dragon Knight, he, being an adult and
a priest no less finds it inappropriate for him to deal with Linus directly.
His own son is too gentle and too much of a coward to be sent to deal with him,
and he can only shake his head and weep at his wife's departure until a
opportunity arrives, and that opportunity arrived in the form of Kakeru.

---------------
マリアン Marian
---------------
Marian (female) is the caretaker of orphans in the Town of Sonia, whose female
population seems to be consisted of, well, only her. This is due to none other
than the works of Linus, one of the orphans under her care, who seemed to drive
all women to the point of insanity with his lewd and mischievous antics. Even
though she does know about what Linus did, she does believe him to be a good
kid underneath and is constantly trying to find ways to pacify him. Marian has
an exuberant amount of zeal when it comes to motherly love and providing care
to children. Case in point: one moment Kakeru is just beginning to talk to
her about Linus, and the next, she's in bed naked because she believes Kakeru
to be sorely deprived of a mother's love and wanted to offer her warmth to him.

--------------
ライナス Linus
--------------
Linus (male) is a young lad who has green hair and an obnoxious looking buck
tooth. He treats Marian as his own prized possession and won't even allow the
others to be nice to her. He even tried to poison the other orphans so all of
Marian's attention will be focused on him instead. While Kakeru talks to
Marian, he's out picking mushrooms at a nearby mountain. When he returns, he
is furious to see Kakeru with Marian. He decides to follow Kakeru on his
journey, all the while having fun (or at least trying) with the ladies that
surrounds Kakeru as a form of revenge. He is the comic-relief character of the
game, and despite his green hair, he abhors broccoli and cauliflowers.

----------------------------
レイモンド王 King of Raymond
----------------------------
Real name unknown (male). He is the king of all of Raymond Continent. He
wrote a letter to the Dragon Knight Baan requesting for reinforcements against
Luciphon's Army. It's been said that he has high blood pressure.

-----------------
トルヘス Toruhesu
-----------------
Toruhesu (male) is a bald and powerful man who runs the Training Facilities
found throughout the land of Dragon Knight 4. He and Kakeru tend to quarrel in
their conversations. He insists that he is not naturally bald, but only shaves
his hair...even though he is seen wearing a toupee at one point! From the
player's own perspective, he's perhaps one of the most wanted NPCs to be
playable since he definitely has what it takes to take on Luciphon's army with
his muscular build. Though he still did not join Kakeru and Eto, he does his
best to wish them the best of luck in their endeavors to save this world.

-----------------------
シド・ノムラ Cid Nomura
-----------------------
Cid Nomura (male) is the elder of the Town of Ulysses. He is also a distant
relative of the King of Raymond.

-------------------
フォラガナ Foragana
-------------------
Foragana (male) is the elder of the Town of Rabinia. He has a strange looking
nose!

-----------------------
ドン・カポネ Don Kapone
-----------------------
Don Kapone (male) is the boss of the Port City of Sheborz. Perhaps in part for
fear of his life (due to the Black Fog that is fast approaching his abode), he
accompanies the group on his ship and on their voyage to Romboni Continent--and
probably to look for another vicinity to be in charge of.

--------------------------
ザム船長 Ship Captain Zamu
--------------------------
As his name implies, Zamu (male) is an aging Ship Captain whom the group meets
about a third of the way into the game in the Port City of Sheborz. He leads
their voyage to the continents of Romboni and Dragonia. He enjoys eating
lollypops.

-------------
ヘレネ Helene
-------------
Helene (female) is Lear's younger sister. Like Lear, she has blue hair and
turquoise eyes. She wears a pink dress covered on the top by a white and black
shoulder pad, and matching white and black knee-high boots. She joins the
group in other versions of the game, but not in this version. Lear wants to
teach her to be a great Archer, just as she is. Her first appearance came as
the party just arrived in the Kingdom of Romboni. She immediately asked the
party for help saving her sister Lear, who was taken away by Luciphon's minions.
Having just gone through battle, Eto felt it is unwise to go immediately into
another and declined to help. Disappointed, Helene decided to set off on her
own to save her sister, but winds up being captured herself eventually.
Shortly after being rescued from her capture, she becomes involved in a
relatively bizarre scene with Kakeru in the Port City of Sheborz, after he
drinks a Pep-Up Potion purchased from a wandering merchant, which causes him to
go gaga over her and start kissing her breasts. Eto shortly comes to her
rescue. At any rate, she very much likes her sister Lear and wants Kakeru to
let Lear join the group after they are reunited in the Port City of Tasta.

--------------------------
ロンボニ王 King of Romboni
--------------------------
Real name unknown (male). He is the king of all of Romboni Continent. He is
also the father of Bianca, the Princess of Romboni. He asks Kakeru to save the
world from Luciphon. Sadly, he remains in his castle and allows the Black Fog
to consume him into stone.

---------------
アンガス Angasu
---------------
Angasu (male) is the boss of the Port City of Blades. He rides with Kakeru
et all on their voyage to Dragonia, but his whereabouts after that are unclear.

-----------------
ラスカス Rasukasu
-----------------
Rasukasu (male) is a White Dragon that lives in Dragon's Fort. 15 years ago,
he carried the human child Trull away from the Town of Mishiel to Dragon Fort.
By command of Elder Yakobu, he was instructed to fly and accompany the next
Dragon Knight, Sail.

----------------
サイレス Sairesu
----------------
Sairesu (male) is a White Dragon that lives in Dragon's Fort. He can be seen
accompanying the Dragon Knight Trull after Trull decides to join Kakeru's cause.

------------------------
長老ヤコブ Elder Yakobu
------------------------
Yakobu (male) is a White Dragon and elder of Dragon's Fort. He spends most of
his time fast asleep in the northern Dragon Nest's Hole. He loves the human
child Trull as if he were his own grandson.

-------------------
ルシフォン Luciphon
-------------------
Luciphon (male), one of the Four Devas of the Demon World, is the main villain
of Dragon Knight 4. He is light skinned and has long straight blonde hair. He
wears a purple cloak and light-blue pants. The Demon King Minax gives him a
Black Stone, an item whose power is beyond the depths of time and space. Minax
tells Luciphon he will give him a chance to redeem himself for his affair with
his daughter, Mano, if he can get rid of the descendent of God who was able to
strike down Deed. After he arrives in the present Human World, he sends forth
a Black Fog that travels eastward to turn those that are engulfed by it into
stone.

---------
マノ Mano
---------
Mano (female) is the eldest daughter of the Demon King Minax. She has wavy
blonde hair, green eyes, and long pointy ears. She wears a light, baby-blue
mantle. Much to the contempt of her father, she is in love with Luciphon and
feels guilty he got banished to the Interstice of Dimension for his sin of
being with her. The Black Stone, which came from her very womb, was produced
through a ritual in hopes that her father will give Luciphon a chance to redeem
himself.

--------
イノ Ino
--------
Notes: See Marlene.
Ino (female) is the youngest daughter of the Demon King Minax. She wears a
black cloak covered over her normal attire. During the final confrontation in
Limelin--in which her identity was finally revealed to everyone by Luciphon--it
was hinted that she may be in love with Luciphon. However, she refused to
believe Luciphon when he made the claim that he loves her and wants her to join
his side. Instead, she abruptly says she is in love with Eto.

--------------
ミナクス Minax
--------------
Minax (male) is the future world's Demon King. It is said that his power is
unrivaled in the Demon World. He desires for the immediate death of the
descendent of God, whose power he does not take lightly. His appearance is
never shown in the game.
