You can move around as much as you want but only certain actions will advance the story. Controls: ````````` The game asks if you are using the mouse at the start of the game. If you say yes then you will use the left mouse button to click on icons and interact with them. The right mouse button is used for saving and quitting the game. Should you not have a mouse or not want to use one, use the direction keys to select the icon and press Enter to confirm. The game usually tells you what you should do. If you are stuck just consult with the crew and guests, visit locations or travel around in the area. The game runs in DOS and is pretty old. If you cannot get it running in a DOS windows you may need to try an emulator such as DOSBox. I have not had problems and the game runs this sluggish anyway. Walkthrough =============================================================================== At the start of the game, consult with Data. He will suggest to go a new destination. Do so and navigate to ASTEROID D-39. Enter the transporter room and only take Geordi with you. Select "The Doghouse" as your beam-down destination. Geordi's visor is having some problems on the surface, so he will beam back up to the ship. Look around on the planet and have conversations with the people until one of them gives you a nullifier. Now return to the ship as well. Geordi will automatically ask for the nullifier when you arrive. Wait around on the bridge until you receive a call from Pamela Jason on the coms. Agree to her request to send troops. Soon after, Parks will call you about troops but you should refuse his request at this point. After the transmission by Mhulli Tarken, start looking for the small vessel by navigating around in the area. When you find it, you will engage in combat. Space Combat: ````````````` Do not disengage, it is pointless. There are more useful options to help you defeat the enemy vessel. Advance on impulse will get you closer to the opponent and make it an easier target. At the same time you are also an easier target so use this if you want to take more risk. Back off if you constantly get hit. Shooting the beam does not harm the enemy too much but more or less guarantees a hit. Shoot some torpedoes to damage it a lot, and you have to hit it around a half dozen times to take it out. When you get hit by its beam, it will lock onto you and all consequent shots will hit as well. Thus once you take a hit, evade! Should the vessel escape you must hunt it down again in the star system. When you finally beat it, Mhulli Tarken will get in touch. Lower your shields to get the hostages returned. Travel to AQUILA TWO. Beam down to the lab on the surface and then talk to Parks. Afterwards beam back to the ship. Navigate to AQUILA FOUR and beam down to the surface. When you find the alien device, move down twice until you get to the exterior. Then go to the hallways, entryway and exterior again. Pick up the object and return to the ship. Analyze the object you have picked up. Enter the transporter room and select Beverly and Geordi as your team. Beam down and talk to the children. Do not acknowledge to what they say. Consult with Beverly and beam back to the ship on your own. Speak to the children on the bridge and do not acknowledge yet again. Consult with Data and agree to his idea about spending more time with the kids. Enter the transporter room and beam back down to meet up with your team. Geordi will find an egg. Consult with Beverly and let her take it back to the ship. Return to the bridge and wait for her to report about it. Now you need to find the Ferengi trader. You may use the analyzer to find where it is located but it also moves around while you get there. When you find it, Data will say so on the display. Beam across to his ship and have a small chat about crystals. From now on your are able to trade with him. It will take a long time but eventually you will have enough. Keep on following him around to ask for more. At the same time, Data will report about his progress with the children. Agree to let him spend more time until he they show up themselves. Talk to the children and agree to their request. Continue doing so and give them all the transinium crystals you have. Eventually they will be satisfied and you beat the game. This last bit is a little frustrating if nothing happens but you will need to keep trying, it isn't called "challenge" for no reason. =============================================================================== This guide may be not be reproduced under any circumstances except for personal, private use.
