Using search and rescue equipment and able helpers, our hero worken hard to repair a damaged bridge clear the roadway, tow cars out of trouble and rescue stranded Tonka Towners. Nate Cod, head constable on the coast, said, "It was the most incredible feat of bravery and courage I've see in a long, long time". Nate Cod is very old, so he knows what he's talking about. The bridge across Tonka River was destroyed by the flood, and many workers on their way home from Tonka Town were streanded. Some home owners in town had to climb to the roof of their house to escape the rising flood waters. Even the Parker's pet dog "Risky" was stuck of the roof of his dog house. Using the Fire Truck, our hero put out a fire the was prbably started by lighening, the cleared the mess away with the Backhoe. The Crane was used to lower a new bridge section into place. It was then possilbe to push some fallen trees off the road with athe Bulldozer. When the debris was blown up by our hero, the flood waters went away and Tonka Town was saved. Our hero then decorated the flooded area with new flower beds, street lamps, park benches and other improvements. Nate Cod summed things up best wehn he said "I can't wait for the next nor'easter so I can see our hero work again!" --------------------------------------------------------- 6.4.2 Number 343 Vol. IV The Early Edition Daily --------------------------------------------------------- Copyright (c) 1997 Hasbro, Inc [Your name here] SAVES ANIMALS There are some pretty happy animals at the Tonka Town Zoo this morning. A wonderfull young hero rescued the lion, the polar bear, the gorilla and the seal after an earthquake made a mess of their homes. Along with some talented helpers, Tonka Town's favorite rescue worker also fixed the damaged zoo before it opened! "It was an amazing thing to watch!" commented the Zoo's head zoologist, Rudy Forest. The monorail that takes visitor to all parts of the zoo had falled down in the "shaker." There were big cracks in the roadway. Tress had fallen down everywhere. The poor animals were wandering around, homeless and worried. Our hero showed up just in time with Trucks, Bulldozers and a Rescue Helicopter and got right to work. Using the Helicopter, our hero lifted the polar bear out of the deep ditch around his cave and dropped him off right at his front door! Then our hero did the same for the other animals. By setting off explosives, our rescue leader then fill the polar bear's lake right up with water. "It was loud, but worth it," commented Rudy. Helpers made quick work of the fallen tress, turning them all into piles of wood chips. Our rescue worker used a Front Loader to fill a Dump Truck up and cart off the chips. Things started to look back to normal. After filling in great big cracks with dirt and smoothing them over with the Bulldozer, Tonka Town's hero fixed the mororail just before the first visitors of the day showed up. Just to make things even more comfortable for them our hero-turned-decorator brount in new benches, lights, signs and flowers and replanted trees to brighten up the zoo. Ruby Forest speaks for all the animals when she says, "Thanks with a capital Tonka to our hero!" --------------------------------------------------------- 6.4.3 Number 344 Vol. IV The Early Edition Daily --------------------------------------------------------- Copyright (c) 1997 Hasbro, Inc [Your name here] SNUFFS FIRE An early morning fire at the Tonka Town Harbor was brought usder controll by the quick action of our newest hero. "We don't known how it started," said harbor master Nick Park, "but we know how it ended." Our hero showed up when all seemed lost and took control of the situation. "It was exciting to watch a professional work," added Nick. There were fires everywhere. The warehouse was buring on the dock and there were burning oil drums floating tin the harbor. Sailors on the boat were stuck there, unable to get off the boat. Our hero had to work fast. First, our hero cleared the way for the Fire Truck to get on the docks by using the Backhoe to move some pipes and crates that were in the way. Then, aiming carefully, our fire fighting recruit put out thee fire in the warehouse with the Fire Truck's water cannon. "Did the same with the Fireboat and made short work of those buring barrels," chimed in Nick. Our hero then saved the sailors by bringing them off the boat to safety. Boy, were they happy!" After clearing the ruined warehouse off the dock and repairing the boat with all kinds of cool trucks and heavy equipment, our hero got creative with the empty dock. Tonka Town always needed an amusement park, and now it has one where that crummy old warehouse used to be. Nick Park say, "I have the best job around now! I get to ride the ferris wheel all day long thanks to Tonka Town's greatest hero!" ================== 6.5 License Plates ================== The text on the license plate defaults to the name you entered when starting the game.
