Q: Patch?
A: Go to www.thedugout.net and download the patch (might not be friendly for 
56kers). If it's zipped/compressed, extract it. Then, run the executable. Let 
it run. Don't cancel it. When it says "Update Complete", start a new game, and
the game will be fully updated. Simple as. Make sure that you complete all of
your patching before commencing a new game. Otherwise some data updates and 
engine changes wont take effect. The latest patch takes the game version to 
6.0.1 MAKE SURE YOU DOWNLOAD THE APPROPRIATE VERSION! If you have 56k, 
the data update patches that may become available may not be a good idea, 
and if you have a MAC, get the MAC version!!!


Q: Editor? Add Player?
A: First things first, PLEASE make sure that you have AT LEAST 256MB RAM before
you attempt anything with the FM Data Editor. I personally would recommend only 
using the editor if you have 512MB RAM, simple because it makes things much
easier and faster. If you don't, it's likely that you'll suffer terribly with 
INSANE processing and loading times (like 45 mins for the initial load etc).

Next, backup your "db" folder, defaults to 
C:/Program Files/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2006/data/db
Make sure that it's backed up. Then make double sure.

Then load up the editor and select "Load". Load up the selected file that's
selected. This is your database. Wait for it to finish, and then you're
free to ruin your game in whatever way you wish to. To add anyone you fancy,
go to players, click edit and then "Add Player". Fill in the details as you
like.

As yet, to my knowledge, there are no unofficial editors available.

Q: Downloads?
A: Always check www.sigames.com FIRST for any official updates. Secondly, try
www.thedugout.net for everything. www.sortitoutsi.net should be your next
port of call, after it's death it appears to be going from strength to strength.

IF GOOGLE DOESNT WORK, ASK THE MESSAGE BOARD!!!


Q: "My skin and balls aren't working, can you help?"
A: My friend phoned me and asked me precisely that question. I laughed for 
days but the solution is simple. When you download a skin and or ball, 
there will (usually) be a .zip containing all of the data. 
The simplest solution is to extract the data, KEEPING THE DATA TOGETHER, to 
the following locations:

*drive*\Sport Interactive\FM2006\data\graphics\pitch(for the balls, nets etc)

and

*drive*\Sport Interactive\FM2006\data\skins (for skins, duh!). For skins, 
ensure that the ENTIRE package is kept in one folder under the name of the
skin otherwise this wont work.

If you are missing one or more buttons, the skin has not been completely
installed, and you should delete the folder containing it and re-extract it.

Q: How do i play in windowed mode?
A: Right click on the icon for FM2006 and click properties. 
In the "Target" area, you should see "*directory*/fm.exe", onto the end of 
this, add, WITHOUT QUOTE MARKS, " -small_screen" [There IS meant to be a 
space]. If not, deselect Full Screen in FM's internal preferences.
NB you must have a resolution GREATER than 1024x768 for this to work.
