===================================DISCLAIMER================================== I have decided not to allow websites other than Gamefaqs (www.gamefaqs.com), IGN (faqs.ign.com) & Gamespot (www.gamespot.com) to host my FAQs from now on. Please don't ask, because I will not grant permission. It's just that too many sites don't keep their version of my FAQ up to date which makes for a lot of hassle in my mailbox. So if anyone sees this FAQ on any site other than those mentioned above, please let me know and I will take care of the situation, thanks. Just to make things crystal clear for some people, this FAQ is not to appear anywhere at the following URLs: http://www.cheatcc.com http://www.cheatindex.com This document Copyright 2004,2017 Daniel Engel =============================================================================== Charlie and the Chocolate Factory FAQ [PC] November 30, 2017 Daniel (DEngel) Engel dan.engel.2017 [AT] gmail [DOT] com ############################################################################### (A) TABLE OF CONTENTS ############################################################################### Table of Contents (A) This Table of Contents (B) Walkthrough - (B-01) Chapter One - (B-02) Chapter Two - (B-03) Chapter Three - (B-04) Chapter Four - (B-05) Chapter Five - (B-06) Chapter Six - (B-07) Chapter Seven - (B-08) Chapter Eight - (B-09) Chapter Nine - (B-10) Chapter Ten (C) Experimental ############################################################################### (B) WALKTHROUGH ############################################################################### Bricklayer J. Gastronomy You will find the walkthrough for the entire game in the sections below. ############################################################################### (B-01) CHAPTER ONE ############################################################################### ------------------- Outside the factory ------------------- Once you've entered your name, selected "play" and watched the intro, the game begins. Click on the 4 other children to talk to them and open the door ahead of you, then click the doorway to start a cutscene. -------------- Chocolate Room -------------- Head left past the pink tree to find the first luminous lollipop, then cross the bridge to your right for a cutscene. Go up near the red mushroom and the chocolate waterfall to find the second luminous lollipop. Go down past Wonka and follow the winding path, then take the third luminous lollipop near the two children. Head right and up past the red and white plants, then take the fourth luminous lollipop. Finally, go right past the other kid to reach the fifth luminous lollipop and end the chapter. ############################################################################### (B-02) CHAPTER TWO ############################################################################### --------------- Chocolate River --------------- Here you will see five valves, five switches and five coloured mushrooms. You want to watch the valves for a coloured outline, then quickly click the mushroom that matches that colour. Once you do this you should pull the lever that moves below that valve to stop the flow of chocolate in the valve. The outline for the blue mushroom looks pretty similar to the outline for the purple one, so you need to be careful with those. Repeat this pattern until this short chapter ends. ############################################################################### (B-03) CHAPTER THREE ############################################################################### --------------- Pink Sweet Boat --------------- There are 16 oompa-loompas here, with 8 on each side of the boat. The first time only one oompa-loompa plays a note, so click him to repeat it back. The second time the same oompa-loompa plays that note and a second oompa-loompa adds a second note. Repeat both notes back and keep up this pattern until you can repeat back five notes. Once you can do this you will complete the chapter. If you want to make things easier you can write down which oompa-loompa made which note, and then repeat it back. ############################################################################### (B-04) CHAPTER FOUR ############################################################################### ----- Doors ----- Simply click both doors, followed by the left door to reach the next area. ----------------------- Lickable Wallpaper Maze ----------------------- The locations for the key and the correct door are random, but the layout of the maze is always the same. In this area you walk from a coloured hub to sections that each have 3 doors. Once you like the wallpaper you can click the door to see if you are at the right door [2 items correct], or merely in the right place to find the key [1 item correct, where the other 2 doors give 0 items correct]. Once you are in the right location for the key, find the oompa-loompa between the trio of doors and beat his minigames to collect the key. Return to the correct door as determined above, then click the door and use your key to end the chapter. ############################################################################### (B-05) CHAPTER FIVE ############################################################################### -------------- Inventing Room -------------- In this area Wonka asks for an item, then you need to find it and bring it back to him. The items are random but you will find them on one of the three screens. You start in the middle screen so go left or right to reach the other two. Pass your cursor over the test-tubes and items on the tables to see a picture of the item inside, click the one that looks like what Wonka is after and bring it back to him. If you're wrong you need to keep looking, but if you're right he'll tell you the next item to find. The chapter ends once you've made 2 candies with the ingredients. The ingredients that you can find are as follows: Mexican Fun Bars - A bowl of ice-cream. Peach Kibble Cough Drops - Half of a peach. Chunky Chocolate Covered Nuts And Bolts - A red/black hexagon. Fizzy Tangerine Tooth Powder - A blue tooth in a red/yellow circle. Crunchy Pretzellophane - A pretzel. Purple Fuzzy Whiz Doodles - A purple cloud thing. Marshmallow Mittens - A smiling mitten. Bouncing Floberry Twists - A red/yellow spiral with a green rim. Hopping Peanut Butter Paintbrush - A paintbrush with orange paint. Yellow Yelling Sandy Corn - A white/red/yellow lampshade. Apricottage Cheese - A sliced apricot. Icky French Kisses - A ball with teeth, moustaches, and tongues. Cackling Witch Hazel Nuts - A purple witch's hat. Sunny Peach Mumble - A yellow/orange container with a straw in it. Hooting Cranberry Hats - A red owl. Wonderful Wunderbarbells - Two blue/red bells stuck together. Stomping Foot Pies - A green pie with a blue foot. Funny Money Honey - A wrapped green candy with a dollar sign. ############################################################################### (B-06) CHAPTER SIX ############################################################################### ------------------- To The Juicing Room ------------------- [Room 01] For the first room you get to push violet to the door, but you only are allowed 2 pushes to do it in. The room is almost V-shaped and you want to push her pretty much straight right, but up a little bit. Use lots of power on your push and click just after the moving gate hits the bottom. She should bounce down and right through the gate and hopefully stop close enough to the door for you to easily push her through. --------- --------- |O-------X\ / D| | | \-----/ | ------\ X-------> /------ \-----------/ O = Violet X = Bounce D = Door [Room 02] For the second room, you get three rolls and the room is shaped like a "W". If you pretty much aim down at the pink bumper but slightly right with a lot of power you should be able to get very close to the door, if not get a hole in one. [Room 03] For the third room, you get three rolls and there is a curved path at the top with two small bumpers and a larger one closer to the door. Otherwise, the lower path is pretty straight, but there is a pool that you can fall into. I recommend the lower path, you can use a medium power push to get close to the pool, then you can bounce off the wall though the gap just left of the large bumper and get to the door. ----------------------- Lickable Wallpaper Maze ----------------------- The maze has the same basic layout as before, but this time there's more than 3 flavours by the doors. There's also more than one key available to be found which makes the maze take a little longer. Try to find the correct door first [the one with 2 items correct], then find the oompa-loompa and play his minigames for a key. Use this key on the door that you found and if it doesn't open, then you need to find the oompa-loompa again and play his minigames for another key. Repeat this until you get the right key and open the door to end the chapter. ############################################################################### (B-07) CHAPTER SEVEN ############################################################################### ------------------- Square Candies Room ------------------- Here there is a flat table with red, purple and green square candies on it. There are also three buckets at the end of the table that match those three colours. You want to tilt the table with your mouse to keep the candies on the table until you can drop them into the correct buckets. You can also use left click to slide the buckets to the right one spot. In each round you want to correctly catch 10 candies, and you are only allowed to let 4 fall off the table or you will fail. The second round adds a few more obstacles and the third round adds holes in the table to get in your way. The fourth round is more of the same, but after that round you're done the chapter. ############################################################################### (B-08) CHAPTER EIGHT ############################################################################### ---------------------- Nut Room Garbage Chute ---------------------- This is THE MOST ANNOYING chapter of the game, so if you don't get through it on your first time don't get too frustrated. You can collect the small candies as you slide, but they're not really your main concern. You want to slide as fast as you feel safe by moving the mouse up and collect the large red and white explosive candies. You can left-click the mouse to throw these candies and destroy the semicircular barriers in your way, or you can slide around these. There are also green and brown patches of goo in the chute. The brown ones slow you down, but the green ones speed you up, so hit the green ones when you can. You will see some red openings in the chute, as well as some green ones. Avoid the red ones because they will drop you back at the start. Slide into the green ones if you can, because they will allow you to skip a section of the chute. The big black hand on the timer in the top left corner is how long you have to reach the bottom. Once it reaches the top again, you're out of time. The best I can do to help, is point out where on the pipe you'll find the green shortcut openings [check the map to know when a shortcut is coming up]. The first one on your map will be found about 3/4 up the right side of the chute, so you'll really need some momentum to slide your way up there. The second shortcut is midway up the right side of the chute, right before a barrier. The third shortcut is only slightly to your right, so it should be easy to get into if you know that it's coming up. The fourth shortcut is only slightly to your left, so it should also be easy to get into if you know that it's coming up. One trick that can help quite a bit is to move the mouse up really far before the race starts, this sometimes allows you to get an insane speed boost at the start of the race until you slow down or hit something. ############################################################################### (B-09) CHAPTER NINE ############################################################################### --------------- Television Room --------------- This chapter was a little confusing to figure out at first, but the easiest part is just to take one of the coloured chocolate bars from the oompa-loompas. You should notice three cameras above you and each one has the number 2 on it. The cameras indicate how many of each chocolate bar you still need to throw, so at the beginning you need to throw 2 of each colour. You want to run close to the TV [but away from the oompa-loompas] and aim AWAY from the TV so that the chocolate bar bounces off the outer wall and hits the coloured bars above the TV. This is a successful hit and will decrease the number on the appropriate camera. ############################################################################### (B-10) CHAPTER TEN ############################################################################### --------------- Rock Candy Mine --------------- This chapter is a lot like the old Boulderdash game, just a little harder to play. Basically there are oompa-loompas to avoid at all costs and there are 10 pieces of rock candy. There are also boulders and if a boulder is above you with nothing holding it up, then it will fall on you unless you move out of the way. One of the best tactics is to dig down, then sideways, and finally up under a boulder. Quickly move left or right to dodge it as it falls down the hole you made and out of your way. In either case you want to dig quickly [but carefully] and collect your 10 pieces of rock candy to finish the chapter and the game! ############################################################################### (C) EXPERIMENTAL ############################################################################### For a little while now I've had a paypal link in all my FAQs at the very bottom here. Mainly as a small experiment since a few other FAQ authors have also had the same idea. I had a few people email me before I put this link in because they wanted to send money, so it's here for those people. For the record I've received about $87 (which works out to a bit more in Canadian lol) last I checked, so I've been getting cases of pop and making some excellent progress on a few FAQs. If you don't want to send money or can't then send me an email, it's nice to hear what people thought about my work and there's always room for improvement. My email address and paypal address for those that want to contribute are both dan.engel.2017 (AT) gmail (DOT) com Many thanks, and I hope you continue to use my work! ~Dan
