I also have a guild named NetherLords, which I lead (Level 50+) (no I’m not NL). If you want to contact me you may track me by doing /find Tailz2k6. I used to play Runescape as a level 76 combat person (Tailz 2k5), but when I saw this game... I was hooked! I don’t focus on leveling that much, I’m more focused on money making. Once I have enough money to pay for my level 70-90 armor, I’ll go back to training! This is my first guide... so I hope I’m doing well. If you need to ask me anything that is not on this guide at the moment, feel free to go to my home server (Windia) and whisper me. ---------------------------------------------------- Table Of Contents 1. Intro MapleStory is a side scrolling fusion of Super Mario Bros, DragonBallZ: Legacy of Goku II, and Runescape. I must tell you though, once you start playing and you get to level 20, you either get really hooked into the game or get really bored with this game and quit. 1.1 Version Version 1.00, 8/23/07 – Started with the first touches of the guide. Explained first jobs, has all skills up for Warriors and Mages, completed “choosing a world”, “about NX Cash”, explained Spearman, showed table of jobs, and finished Kerning City PQ. Version 1.01, 12/30/07 – Finished Ludibrium PQ, Started Orbis PQ, Spearman Skills finished, First Job skills ALMOST complete, Explained Dragon Knights, edited choosing a world for the new world Kradia, Started Dragon Knight Skills, and edited the titles with more block letters! Version 1.02 6/19/08 – Wow I haven’t updated in a while, anyway I added some thief stuff, updated the PQ information, ABOUT to work on bowmen probably will start soon. Version 1.03 7/30/08 – I’ve added a WHOLE bunch to the Dragon Knight Build, including why Hybrids are better than being a Pure Spear or Pure PoleArm. Version 1.04 8/04/08 – Heh, Birthday Update, I’ve added Level 200 stuff for our first Windian that is Level 200!! Congratulations xAshtonxx!! Version 1.05 1/01/09 – Happy New Years!! After making one character of ALMOST every class (Except for a Page, Hunter, Crossbowman, and an F/P Wizard) I got motivated to add just a few new things about Pirates and I also now just added a skill index, which is in progress. Also, keep watch for when I update, because I’m having some thoughts about putting in HP/MP Calculators! Here is a spoiler: An HP Fighter’s HP per level (calculator effective at Level 15) is: 346(Level) + -2202 = HP for your level. Oh, and to Trixter800: STOP COPYING MY STUFF LIKE MY CHOOSING A WORLD SECTION AND MY PATH OF CAREER SECTION. --------------------------------------------------- 1.2 Choosing A World NOW BEFORE YOU PLAY – Choose a world that is comfortable for you. (if you already haven’t chosen a world) but remember, choose wisely, once you put your main there, you cannot take him to another world. Scania: -Very Overpopulated –Hardest place to train -Very easy to find the items you need -Outstanding economy (Free markets (FM) are like a mega mall) Bera: -Overpopulated -Moderate-Hard place to train -Easy to find the items you need -Very good economy (FM is very populated and is like a mall) (Pretty much exactly like Windia just with a little more people) Broa -A little over average population -Moderate place to train -Moderately-Easy to find the items you need -Good economy (FM is pretty decent) Windia -Overpopulated -Moderate-Hard place to train -Easy to find the items you need -Very good economy (FM is very populated and is like a mall) (Pretty much exactly like Bera just with a little less people) Khaini -Average population -Moderate-Easy place to train (a little more room than the first four) -Moderately rare to find the items you need -Somewhat good economy (FM is somewhat big) Bellacon -Under average population -Easy place to train, very spaced out -Rare to find things you need -Somewhat bad economy (FM is easy to get spots, but very few people to purchase things) Mardia -Very Unpopulated -Very easy place to train yet you can get kind of lonely, very easy to get into Party Quests -Very rare to find the item you need -Poor Economy (Very few people with shops and extremely few purchases) Kradia -Very Unpopulated -Roomy but lonely -The item you need may take quite a while to find -Barely any economy (A Couple of rooms of shops) Yellonde -Ninth Server, with a nine as a logo -Needs more people -Bad economy, (high priced items) -A Few rooms of shops. Demethos: -Server aimed for pirates -Very empty -Very difficult to find what you want -A few people have shops If you like to be with lots and lots of people and you want to go to a place with a great economy, more then your care of training, choose Scania, Bera, Broa, Windia, or Khaini. If you like to get into Party Quests, and if you want to get to a very high level without someone taking your monsters, but you don’t care about the economy, choose Mardia, Bellacon, Khaini, Kradia, Yellonde, or even Demethos. If you like to be in a world with more balance, choose Bera, Broa, Windia, or Khaini. ---------------------------------------------------- 1.3 Starting Your Character Here are a few things you need to know before you start your character: First of all, I am serious about this next part. Decide which gender you want to be wisely. If you are (honestly) gay/lesbian, select the opposite gender, because if you get married, Maple Story only allows straight marriages in this game. Otherwise if you are straight, please, PLEASE choose your correct gender. Second of all, Decide what job/class you want to be. You have to decide while you roll your stats or you will mess up your character. Quick Show of Stats: Class: Warrior Best Possible Stats Roll: Any STR, Any DEX, INT/LUK = 4/4 AP Build: -Regular: STR = High As Possible, DEX = 2x Your Level, INT/LUK = 4/4 -HP Warrior – (Fighter): STR = High As Possible, DEX/INT/LUK = 4/4/4 (Buy Accuracy Scrolls) -Dexless: STR = High As Possible, DEX = 4 (Any point you would’ve put into DEX Normally goes to STR), INT/LUK = 4/4 (Buy Accuracy Scrolls) -High DEX: STR = (2 Points/Level) DEX = (3 Points/Level) INT/LUK = 4/4 Speed it takes to get 1st job advancement: ***** Class: Bowman Best Possible Stats Roll: Any STR, Any DEX, INT/LUK = 4/4 AP Build: -Hunter: STR = +5 Your Level, DEX = High As Possible, INT/LUK = 4/4 -CrossBowman: STR = Your Level, DEX = High As Possible, INT/LUK = 4/4 Speed it takes to get 1st job advancement: *** Class: Magician Best Possible Stats Roll: STR/DEX = 4/4, Any INT, Any LUK AP Build: -Regular: STR/DEX = 4/4, INT = High As Possible, LUK = +3 Your Level -Lukless: STR/DEX/LUK = 4/4/4, INT = High As Possible Speed it takes to get 1st job advancement: ** Class: Thief Best Possible Stats Roll: STR/INT = 4/4 Any DEX, Any LUK AP Build: -Regular: STR/INT = 4/4, DEX = 2x Your Level, LUK = High As Possible -Dexless: STR/DEX/INT = 4/25/4, (Dex Stops at 25 Permanately at Level 10), LUK = High As Possible (Buy Accuracy Scrolls) -STR Bandit: STR = 10 Below Your Level, DEX = 2x Your Level, INT = 4, LUK = High As Possible Speed it takes to get 1st job advancement: * Class: Pirate Best Possible Stats Roll: Any STR, Any DEX, INT/LUK = 4/4 -Brawler: STR = High As Possible, DEX = +5 Your Level, INT/LUK = 4/4 -Gunslinger: STR = Your Level, DEX = High As Possible, INT/LUK = 4/4 Speed it takes to get 1st job advancement: **** ---------------------------------------------------- 1.4 About NX Cash You can purchase something called NX (Nexon) Cash (MapleGlobal) or A-Cash (MapleSea) by using real money. 1 cent (U.S) is worth 10 NX. You can buy various items such as pets, clothing (that covers your armor), weddings, shops, room for more inventory, and etc... ---------------------------------------------------- 2. Jobs Guide Here is information on every job if you want to decide which you want to be. You have 10 choices to make (unless you want to stay a beginner) Once you choose your first job, you cannot go back. Same rules apply with choosing your 2nd job. But third job and fourth job is different. You have to be the job what your 2nd job picks. For ex: If you are a warrior, and choose a fighter, you can not become a dragon knight with that same character. You have to be a crusader if you are a fighter, no exceptions. Like also, if you chose magician, you can not become an assassin. It has to be with the three choices: F/P wizard, I/L wizard, or cleric. -------------------------------------------------- Fight up close with a high attack power. (Warrior) Fight with swords, axes, and shields. (Fighter) Fight with swords, maces, and MAYBE a shield. (Page) Fight with spears and polearms. (Spearman) ----------------------------------------------- Fight with bows using accuracy. (Bowmen) Fight with bows. (Hunter) Fight with crossbows. (Crossbowman) ----------------------------------------------- Use spells from afar consuming MP to attack. (Magician) Fight with fire and poison spells. (Fire/Poison Wizard) Fight with ice and lightning spells. (Ice/Lightning Wizard) Fight with holy spells and heal party members. (Cleric) ----------------------------------------------- Damage foes with ninja throwing stars from afar or with a dagger up close. (Thief) Fight with throwing stars. (Assassin) Fight with daggers. (Bandit) ----------------------------------------------- Punch or shoot your enemies quickly. (Pirate) Fight with knucklers. (Brawler) Fight with guns. The best place to train is Maple Island and depending on what first job you are going to have you will put in your AP according what job you are going to be (look at the jobs section and decide which one you want for that info) otherwise you screwed your character up and you will have to restart your whole MS career. When you reach level 8, you should head to Victoria Island through Southperry if you mastered how to pick mesos (money) up. If you want to be a Magician do not delay and wait till level 9+ to go to Ellinia and become one. Otherwise if you are going to be another job train for another 2 levels in Victoria Island (preferably near Lith Harbor or one screen west or southeast of Henesys.) Once you have become level 10 and distributed in the right AP for your job head straight for the job you want. (except magician, you screwed your character up if you haven’t became a magician at level 8) Beginner Skills (note you only get 6/9): Three Snails: Max Level 3 Manual Skill Throw Snails with a 100% accurate toss Level 1: MP -10, -1 Green Snail Shell, 10 Damage on anything Level 2: MP -15, -1 Blue Snail Shell, 20 Damage on anything Level 3: MP -20, -1 Red Snail Shell, 40 Damage on anything Recovery: Max Level 3 Manual Skill Recover a tiny bit of HP every 5 seconds for 30 seconds (Can only use once every 10 minutes) Level 1: MP -10, Recover a total of 24 HP Level 2: MP -20, Recover a total of 48 HP Level 3: MP -30, Recover a total of 72 HP Nimble Feet: Manual Skill Run with extra speed (cancels out the skill haste which is even better than this skill) (Can only use once every 15 minutes) Level 1: MP -10, Speed +10 for 4 seconds Level 2: MP -15, Speed +15 for 8 seconds Level 3: MP -20, Speed +20 for 12 seconds Yeah, pretty crappy skills, I advise that your main is NOT a forever beginner, if you like beginners that much, become a warrior, they pretty much attack the same way. If you ever do make a forever beginner, choose weapons like common polearms, there are a whole lot of common polearms. At level 1 you can get a sky snowboard, which is a polearm with normal speed and 18 weapon attack. At level 12, you can get a aqua snowboard, same speed with around 30 weapon attack. But if you make a forever beginner, you have to be very rich. You have to pay a fortune to get a frozen tuna at level 20 which has around EIGHTY-FIVE WEAPON ATTACK and the only in game beginners only weapon. For Spearmen, that’s like the average weapon attack at level 60. If you can manage to get your beginner to level 95 (and only two people have) you can equip a 100 weapon attack polearm which is called the red surfboard. Otherwise, if you have a lot of money to blow, do it on snowboards and surfboards (skies (which are spears) are too expensive) but anyway, the AP applies the same as warriors. Remember though, choosing this means no skill points. (Except for those three skills everyone gets, listed above.) ---------------------------------------------------- 2.2 Warrior Warriors are a great class to choose if you like attacking the way you do in games like “The Legend of Zelda series” or “Paper Mario/Mario + Luigi series” They are the highest hitting class, and the second to fastest levelers in the first job and the fastest levelers in the 3rd job! Warriors also have the most HP, which gives you an advantage to staying in battle compared to the other jobs. You may have a very strange hitting range, but that makes up for the high hitting. By level 35 if you put your AP in right you should have hit over 1,000! Also by level 45-50 you can hit about 2,000! We don’t need any arrows, not too many MP pots, and no throwing stars, and if we have a good cleric/priest/bishop, then no HP pots. They are the lowest money consumers because all you need is a few MP pots. Therefore this job uses the least amount of money for use inventory of all the classes. Warriors have a unique way they put their AP in. Warriors are a great class for your first character selection if you like the way you attacked as a beginner. (X means the rest of the remaining AP goes into that stat) Warrior AP: Lvl 1: STR: X DEX: X Int: 4/5 Luk: 4/5 Lvl 10: STR: X DEX: 20 Int: 4/5 Luk: 4/5 Lvl 20: STR: X DEX: 40 Int: 4/5 Luk: 4/5 Lvl 30: STR: X DEX: 60 Lvl 35: STR: X DEX: 60 Lvl 40: STR: X DEX: 60 Lvl 50: STR: X DEX: 70 Lvl 60: STR: X DEX: 85 Lvl 70+ STR: X – EVERYTHING ELSE INTO STR AND ONLY WEAR DEX EQUIPS DEX: 100 STOP AND BUY/SCROLL ONLY DEX EQUIPS Well, that is my strategy. You can try anything over 75+ if you don’t like the 70+ strategy. If you want to become a HP warrior, you have to have a main supporting it with strong weapons with accuracy, a LOT of money to blow and the time. First, get TEN STRENGTH OR MORE with 4/5 INT and LUK. You start out in Maple Island, and AS SOON AS you reach 35 strength save up your Ability points until you are level 15 and Maxed out the skill: Improving Max HP Increase. By then you should have around 45 ability points (though it took forever to get there) Blow it ALL into HP (yes all 45) and you should still have 35 Str BUT, you have near 3,000 HP at level 15 (without Hyper Body)! HP warrior build: Lvl 1: STR: 10+ (Get a gooooood roll) DEX: 5-7 Int: 4/5 Luk 4/5 Lvl SIX: STR: 35 Dex: 5-7 Int: 4/5 Luk: 4/5 Leftover AP points saved: 0-2 Lvl 10: Str: 35 Dex: 5-7 Int: 4/5 Luk: 4/5 Leftover AP points saved: 20-22 OKAY WAIT STOP THERE: Let me show you your SP build till level 15 in order for this to work: Level 10: 1 into Improving HP Recovery (1) Level 11: 3 into Improving HP Recovery (4) Level 12: 1 into Improving HP Recovery (5), 2 into Improving Max HP Increase (2) Level 13: 3 into Improving Max HP Increase (5) Level 14: 3 into Improving Max HP Increase (8) Level 15: 2 into Improving Max HP increase (10), 1 into Power Strike (1) Now, continuing with your AP: Lvl 15: Str: 35 Dex: 5-7 Int: 4/5 Luk: 4/5 Leftover AP points saved: 45-47 OKAY, now that you have maxed out Improving Max HP Increase, you should put those 45-47 points (yes all of them) into HP. When you turn level 30, the only choice you have (to not screw up your HP warrior) is Fighter. Yes, you can survive something like Pianus at only level 30 (if you have power elixirs)! You can also serve well at the guild PQ and Ludi PQ, because you have enough HP to get through those monsters. (All you need is Hyper Body). The skills that warriors have truly make up a good class. If you have a lot of HP potions you should put ONLY 1-4 endure. You should also put ONLY 5 into Improving HP recovery. MAX out Improving Max HP as early as you can. Once you’re finished maxing out Improving Max HP you need to max out Power Strike. After that is maxed out, max out Slash Blast. DO NOT PUT ANY EXCEPT FOR ONE (for the cool looking bigger look) INTO IRON BODY IF YOU ARE BECOMING A SPEARMAN. YOU WILL GET AN EVEN BETTER SKILL IRON WILL WHICH INCREASES THE WHOLE PARTIES WEAPON AND MAGIC DEFENSE. Here are the skills: Improving HP Recovery: Max Level 16 Automatic Skill Recover additional HP every 10 seconds if standing still. Level 1: Recover Additional 3 HP Level 2: +6 HP Level 3: +9 HP Level 4: +12 HP Level 5: +15 HP Level 6: +18 HP Level 7: +21 HP Level 8: +24 HP Level 9: +27 HP Level 10: +30 HP Level 11: +33 HP Level 12: +36 HP Level 13: +39 HP Level 14: +42 HP Level 15: +45 HP Level 16: +50 HP Improving Max HP Increase: Max Level 10 Automatic Skill Boosts up the amount of Max HP after each level up, or AP used on Max HP. You could go on the defensive side my wielding a shield with the fighter and hit quickly, you also might want to go on the magical side and become a page, or maybe you might just like having additional HP and MP by using hyper body with the spearman and go offensive by using spears and polearms to hit the highest of every single second job there is. Whichever you like best is going to be your second job. Fighters Pros -Highest HP of ALL second jobs -Rage increasing your Weapon Attack for your party but lowering your defense. -Most Defensive of ALL second jobs -Fast Weapons -Red Whip! Fighters Cons -Lowest MP of ALL second jobs -Swords and axes are one of the weakest warrior’s things Pages Pros -Lots of MP -Magical side of Warriors -Threaten! -Lowest costing 60% and 10% scrolls of ALL jobs -Very good weapon – Maple Doom Singer gives lots of STR (up to like 11) if scrolled properly Pages Cons -Most frowned upon Warrior -Other Jobs enjoy KSing them Spearman Pros -Lots of MP -Highest hitting class of ALL second jobs!!!! -Hyper Body makes you popular among parties -Booster makes up for the slow hitting -Spears and Polearms are popular after all the events and gachapon items Spearman Cons -Lowest Defensive of all Warrior 2nd jobs -Slowest weapons of ALL jobs ---------------------------------------------------- 2.2.1 Fighter/Crusader/Hero ---------------------------------------------------- 2.2.2 Page/White Knight/Paladin ---------------------------------------------------- 2.2.3 Spearman/Dragon Knight/Dark Knight SPEARMAN The skills are good, also the power too is good. If you chose spears, you’re a stabber otherwise you chose polearms, the slashers. They have never failed me, especially with snowboards and surfboards. Snowboards and surfboards (and the nine dragons) are one of the fastest polearms out there. When you get to the third job advancement, some of the coolest in-game skills are open to you. Crusher, Dragon’s Roar and Dragon’s Fury are all very powerful attacks and will make you look pro. Rumors say that there is better polearms at your second job versus better spears in your third job. Those rumors are lies, the Maple Scorpio (level 43 polearm) is though better then the Maple Impaler (level 43 spear and even though it’s faster). For spearmen, the skills you need to decide a HUGE decision at Level 30. Spear? Polearm? Hybrid (Both)? Once you have followed the distributions that I put out. The skills involve increasing your weapon’s accuracy, attacking a second time quickly, making your weapon faster, increasing defense, and your own HP and MP. Booster, however is something you should look out for. If you are lazy and don’t like to push the button more, max it out. Otherwise, if you can press your booster button a lot more often without caring, it would be better, because the amount of speed stays the same as you put points into booster, the only thing that changes is the amount of times you press the button. It’s best to keep booster around 6-10. Here are the Spearman’s techniques: Spear Mastery: Max Level 20 Automatic Skill When using a spear, increases accuracy. Dragon Knights can hit REALLY high at low levels. My Dragon Knight happens to be able to hit over 4,000 damage at level 70 (with Power Strike). It slashes. IF YOU ARE A HYBRID DRAGON KNIGHT: Max out Spear Crusher, followed by Polearm Dragon Fury. Also, you might be curious why I would bother to put one into Spear Dragon Fury, the reason is: Dragon Fury goes a lot farther than Crusher, so if you are wielding a Spear, and you need to save potions and time not Dragon Roaring, there is your easy way to mob and enemy with a spear. I’m only putting Hybrid up, because I think it is the best way to distribute the points, and it is just plain stupid to attempt maxing Spear Dragon Fury, or PoleArm Crusher, seeing how other guides say you should. You would do the most damage as a hybrid out of the other builds out there as you reach 90+. If you were a pure Spear, or a pure PoleArm (I was a pure PoleArm) I would seriously consider about changing your ways to this build. ---------------------------------------------------- 2.3 Bowman – (Credit goes to MetricZero for the intro of the bowmen job, the bowmen AP, and the first two skills in this section) Bowmen are least popular class even though they are pretty strong. From Bowmen, you can either choose to use a crossbow or bow. After you decide, you must buy the corresponding type of arrow, i.e. (arrow, crossbow arrow) Too fully reach the potential of the bowmen, you must set your AP (ability points) correctly. Bowmen are built of Strength and Dexterity, so be sure to raise the stats correctly. Bowmen are very accurate and can hit things 10 levels ahead of any other jobs. Bowmen are pretty fun to play on and you will be amazed at what bowmen can do. To be a successful bowman, you need to have strength 5 points above your level, and the rest into dexterity. Try to start out your character with 4-5 luck and int. Here are stats as follows: Bowman AP: Lvl 1: STR: X DEX: X Int: 4/5 Luk: 4/5 Lvl 10: STR: 15 DEX: X Int: 4/5 Luk: 4/5 Lvl 20: Str: 25 Dex: X Int: 4/5 Luk: 4/5 Lvl 30: Str: 35 Dex: X Lvl 40: Str: 45 Dex: X Lvl 50: Str: 55 Dex: X Lvl 60: Str: 65 Dex: X Lvl 70: Str: 75 Dex: X There are many different skills essential for later on. You will be needed in Party Quests (PQ) later on in your Maple life. People think that bowmen are useless, but in my opinion they really aren’t. Their skills help them level faster and help others when it comes to PQing as said before. The Blessing of the Amazon: Max Level 16 Automatic Skill Increases accuracy no matter what weapon you use. They have ranged attacks, high hitting attacks, multiple-monster hitting attacks, and very good survival skills. If you choose to be a magician, you have many choices to make. These choices will be described throughout this section, as will the different attacks and everything you need to know to be a magician. Magician AP: Do *not* enter any AP into HP or MP, unless you are a very high level and have capped your LUK as well as being a party training priest/bishop, which doesn’t need as much INT as other magicians. Remember as a general rule of thumb for magicians, you need to start with as low STR and DEX as possible, then get your INT to 20, then keep your LUK 3 points above your level. Once you have got pretty far into your career as a magician, you will be adding 1 LUK and 4 INT every time you level up. Lvl 1: Str: 4/5 Dex: 4/5 INT: X LUK: X Lvl 10: Str: 4/5 Dex: 4/5 INT: X LUK: 13 Lvl 20: Str: 4/5 Dex: 4/5 INT: X LUK: 23 Lvl 30: INT: X LUK: 33 Lvl 40: INT: X LUK: 43 Lvl 50: INT: X LUK: 53 Lvl 60: INT: X LUK: 63 Lvl 70+ INT: X – Put all of your AP into INT, except of course keep your LUK 3 above your level (described below.) LUK: You may want to stop increasing your LUK when it gets to about 93. Or you may not, you will want to make the decision based on what the highest level magician equips are, because you may or may not want to wear the highest level equips possible. Magicians have very unique skills. In the first job, they are useless to parties. They have a lot of ways to keep themselves alive, but spend a lot of money on potions. Although magicians are not as favorable as others in the first job, they become a little powerful in the second jobs. Depending on what you have experienced, you may choose the Fire/Poison mage class,(the high hitting class) Ice/Lightning mage class,(the ksing class) or the Cleric class(the holy class). Fire/Poison mage Pros: -Highest damage of the mage class -Fire elemental/Poison elemental -Meditation makes magical attacks stronger -Best 1 vs 1 of the mage class Fire/Poison mage Cons: -No attacks that hit multiple monsters -Poison is kind of useless -Slow isn’t very good Ice/Lightning mage Pros: -Best ksers for second job -Ice freezes enemies on contact (not always) -Good damage for second job -Meditation makes magical attacks stronger -Best mobbing attacks of the mage class Ice/Lightning mage Cons: -People get mad easily from ksing (defame) -Slow is completely useless (ice freezes, enemies stop moving) Cleric Pros: -Heal, need I say more? (Works on whole party) -Bless raises stats of whole party -Loved in PQs. -Almost everyone likes to have them in parties. -Rich easily -Heal others to get EXP! -Later on, they easily give leech for basically free money. -They get a skill that increases the amount of EXP you get! -They can revive others. Cleric Cons: -The WEAKEST class in the whole game -Weakness makes it hard to Level -Is used repeatedly for others gain -Has no good attacking skills till 4th job. -Can’t train very well without an attacker in their party. 2.4.3 Cleric/Priest/Bishop Clerics have a wide variety of skills that are useful in many situations, but they lack power. The most commonly used skill that any Cleric uses, is called Heal. They are mostly found PQing in their early levels, and then found in training parties in later levels. Many Priests I’ve seen, really like Dragon Knights and Dark Knights, for their good attacking skills and their Hyper Body, in which both skills help them level. In return, Priests/Bishops give them their party skills like Heal, Bless, Holy Symbol, and when needed, Dispel and Resurrection. As you can see, clerics probably have the most party skills Than any other class. But, alone those skills do not really help anyone, (even holy symbol needs 2+ people for it to be effective). Though some things Clerics and Priests really dislike, is a Dark Knight with max beholder’s healing and buffs, because it replaces Bless and Heal, and even Beholder’s Buffs are better than bless at max level. Here in this section, you will learn in which skills do what, and how these party skills will help others. ---------------------------------------------------- 2.5 Thief (First part of this paragraph goes to Tailz2k6, the rest of the half of this paragraph goes to MetricZero) If you chose thief as your first job, you have two choices to make. If you want to throw ninja stars with a great attack power which come in subis, mokbis, tobis, steelies, and ilbis (in order from weakest to strongest) then you want to become an Assassin (Sin). Or if you want to go more on the side of a Warrior and use daggers which is low in attack power, but very quick so you can attack about 6 times as fast as the slowest weapon of a spearman, the tuna, become a Bandit (Dit). If you like both however, make a Sin with max lucky seven and turn him/her into a bandit, or make a bandit with max lucky seven and turn him/her into an Assassin (Sin). They do take the longest to become their first job, Warriors and Bowmen have Strength and Dexterity together, so they can kill just about anything in one hit. Magicians however, only need to get to level 8. It’s very painful to get from level 8 to 10 if you are trying to become a thief, because you hardly have any Dex, and you don’t have any Str. Thieves are the about the most common class in the game, with Assassins being the most popular these days. Assassins can be either good or bad. They can be good because they are easy to train in the beginning because they can kill steal (ks: killing the other persons monster) other people and hit moderately high. This can be their downfall too, because many people are annoyed by sins because they kill steal (ks) off them. But in my opinion, thieves are one of the best classes in the game. Also, they have many good supports such as haste (used in pqs and conveniencies) and meso up. Thief AP: - (Credit goes to MetricZero for everything but the first paragraph of the section) Unlike the warrior class, whose damage relies on strength, the thief class relies on luck and dex for damage. Basically, the dexterity for the thief has to be double the level, and the rest of the ability points into luck. Keeping that steady pace of 2 into dex, 3 into luck every level will get you to the best you can be. Or, if you want to be like me, you can put in 5 dex, 5 dex, 5 luck, 5 luck, 5 luck, for five levels, making sure you keep the double the amt of dex for you level. Everything all changes once you hit level 50. The amount of dex needs to be 40 more than your level. Okay, heres the part where everything changes. If you want to hit higher, then you can be dexless, but this is only used for sins. This means you have the nessecary 25 dex to become a thief, but you don’t go any farther. Instead, you put everything else in luck and make it up by scrolling with dex scrolls In order to fill other requirements. I wouldn’t recommend being dexless unless you are funded, or have money to support your character, because good scrolls usually are expensive. Other Thief Builds: Going even further into detail, we have the luck and Strength bandits. The two types have different builds, one focusing on luck, the other on luck, but a little bit of strength. The luck bandit hits higher with more power, but has a less minimum hit. A strength bandit relies on strength a little bit, giving them a smaller and better range of damage. The weapons used for bandits are categorized in 2 categories. One is the luck weapons, which you use if you are a luck bandit. They require the double dex than level and luck, depending on the level of the weapon. The second category is the strength daggers, used by the strength bandit. You need dex as always, and strength, depending on the level of the weapon. Also, another thing in mind is that strength daggers have higher weapon attack. If you maxed Lucky Seven and you wield a claw at most or all times, please pick Assassin. If you maxed Double Stab and you have equipped a dagger most of the time, please choose Bandit. If you are currently just starting your first job and want to know the benefits of each second job, here is what you are looking for. Assassins Pros: -Very Strong throughout your whole first to fourth job if equipped with the right stars and weapon -Critical Shot adds even more damage to an enemy -Very long distance when you maxed keen eyes in your first job -Good at attacking one enemy and moving on to the next on fairly quickly -Very fast when booster is somewhat maxed Assassins Cons: -Stars are pretty expensive -Run out of stars fast -Very Good claws are EXTREMELY expensive as opposed to other weapons -Only attacks one enemy in the first and second jobs -REALLY hard to fund a dexless -Hard to fund period. -Not many party skills except for haste Bandits Pros: -Very fast and swift -Savage blow attacks six times on one enemy -Become really strong after maxing out meso explosion -Can actually afford maxing dark sight with this job opposed to assassins -The fastest weapons in the entire game when booster is maxed Bandits Cons: -Very weak until third job when meso explosion is maxed -Not very good at killing bosses to meso explosion is maxed -Extremely close range can kill you easily -Not many party skills except for haste -Takes a lot of MP with double stab and savage blow ---------------------------------------------- 5. Training ---------------------------------------------------- 5.1 Training ---------------------------------------------------- 5.2 Party Quests (PQ) This is a walkthrough for each party quest. ---------------------------------------------------- 5.2.1 Kerning PQ: Level 21-30 First of all, you go to Kerning City, (by cab, walking, or a scroll) and get yourself into a party with three other people that are level 21-30, if they want to PQ too. Second, make sure you are in a party that you can get in good. If you miss 4 times in a row, get out of that party. If you are leading, click the girl next to the sewers repetitively and REALLY FAST and if you did it fast enough, when the other party is out you will enter. (note only one party can be in at a time in one channel) If you got in, you should be in a place with a bunch of crocodiles. STAGE 1: This should be the longest stage throughout this Party Quest. 1) If you are not leading: Walk over to the far right of the map and talk to the person. The quiz should give you no problems. If you need help, ask a party member for the answer. The answer to the quiz = the amount of coupons you have to retrieve. You get a coupon from a Crocodile (If you haven’t figured that out already). Once you have collected the right amount of coupons, return to the person who gave you the quiz and talk to her. She will give you a pass (not a coupon) drop the PASS to the leader, and he will collect it. 2) If you are leading: Wait for your three party members to finish the quiz (you could help kill the crocodiles for your fellow party members) once they have dropped their PASSES (not coupons) to you, (you should have one minus the amount of party members on screen (if there are 4 people in the map (which means they didn’t disconnect,) you should have three passes, otherwise if three people are in the map, you should have two) BUT, you cannot have 1 or 2 party members on the map or u cant beat stage 2-4) after you have your passes, click the person on the far bottom-right. If you did it right, a message will say “CLEAR” and a portal will show up. Enter the portal to go to stage 2. STAGE 2: This should be the shortest stage through the Party Quest. Unless you have 3 members in the party, the leader should not be on the ropes. Only three should be on the ropes. One person should be on each rope. The leader should be clicking the girl on the bottom- right to see if the combination of the ropes is right. HOWEVER, if one person remains absent, the leader needs to click from either the bottom-left or bottom-right rope. If you get the right combination, a portal will emerge and you will be allowed into stage 3. There are four combinations, so it shouldn’t be too hard. STAGE 3: Same thing as stage two, but with five combinations. When people say numbers, like 123, you need to rush to the platform with the number of cats on the platform. Each number represents a person’s platform since there are three digits to the number, that’s what platform one of those three people should go to. The combinations are: 123, 124, 125, 134, 135, 145, 234, 235, 245, and 345 if you didn’t get a Clear on all of those Combinations, your party is screwing up somehow. Anyway, when you Clear, you go to stage 4. There are 10 combinations in total. STAGE 4: Once again, a combination stage. This time the barrels are numbered so it should be really easy. Once three party members are on the barrels, here are three combinations to beating the stage. 123, 124, 125, 126, 134, 135, 136, 145, 146, 156, 234, 235, 236, 245, 246, 256, 345, 346, 356, and 456 Once you Clear, go in to the portal that leads to the last stage. There are 20 combinations in total. LAST STAGE: Basically, you beat tough monsters that give you a lot of experience. At the bottom of this stage, there should be a giant slime named King Slime. Watch out for its attacks: 1) The normal, you bumped into the monster attack. You take a LOT of damage, and could die in 2-4 hits if you’re not careful. 2) If it starts to charge, you better get ready to jump. It does a whole lot of damage if you get caught in his earthquake-like attack. 3) When its antenna glows after it has been hit for a while, it sends regular old slimes out to harm you. It’s not really that painful, but it is distracting. Anyway, once you killed him and the all the other enemies on the map, give the leader a total of 10 passes, and return to the top. DO NOT CLICK THE GIRL ON THE LEFT. NOT IN ANY STAGES, NO NOT EVEN THE LAST STAGE. IT WILL KICK YOU OUT OF THE PARTY QUEST AND YOU WILL GET NOTHING. Once the leader clicked the girl on the top-RIGHT, a message will say Clear, and will allow you to also click the girl on the top-right. You will automatically enter bonus stage. BONUS STAGE: Upon entering, you get a random item, good or bad, otherwise there is nothing much to do here except to train on low leveled monsters. Wait until the leader exits the PQ. While the leader dashes to the girl near the sewers to get in again, leave the exit stage. If you’re lucky enough the leader will quickly make it to the girl next to the sewers in time, start clicking and you will get in again. Note, after the leader leaves any stage you have 10 seconds to leave or you will miss getting in the next time (unless you are REALLY lucky). ---------------------------------------------------- 5.2.2 Ludibrium PQ: Level 35-50 - (Credit goes to CelSpell on the first paragraph) First of all, the Ludibrium PQ is the third PQ that you will be able to access (excluding the guild quest, I’ll tell you about that later). Unlike the Kerning PQ, the Ludibrium PQ is located in, you guessed it, Ludibrium! To get there, you must take a boat from Ellinia to orbis, once there, talk to the ticketing usher again and buy a ticket to Ludi. Remember, the ticket is unrefundable and will only work once (even if you get off the boat). Once you buy the ticket, walk right and talk to the platform usher and click on Ludi (don’t get on the wrong platform or you’ll have to walk back again) anyway, once in Ludi, go to as far left as you can, and you should be at a map called Eos Tower “100th floor” and go up a floor to the 101st floor. You should have 6 people in your party (and need 6 to get in). But up to the end of stage 8 you should have a minimum of 5 people, or you cannot complete the pq, and you will be kicked out of the party quest. You need at least one type of magician and one type of thief (and if you have no assassins but a bandit(s) get a 2nd job bowman. If you want to survive easy during the boss fight, bring a cleric and spearman. If you have a good leader, who is good at clicking, and you have gotten in, a timer saying 59:59 should appear at the screen. That means you have gotten in to stage 1. STAGE 1: Basically, collect 25 passes of dimension for the ratz and dark ratz it’s not that hard. Once you have the 25 passes, toss them to the leader once the leader has the 25 pieces, he clicks those balloons and only ONE person should enter the next portal at first. STAGE 2: First Person in: Enter the portal and hit the box that is SECOND to top. Once you hit it the box several times, you alone will be transported to another map called towers trap. ONLY ONCE IN THERE, say “Clear” and the other members will enter the second stage. Hit the four boxes and gather their passes and then leave the stage through the portal to join the other members. Other members: After the first person has entered, wait or track the current member in the portal, after the track says tower’s trap, enter (or he will say “clear”). Destroy the 11 boxes with your party members and collect the tickets. The first person in should join you eventually. Once he has, everybody has to drop a total of 15 passes for the leader to collect and click those balloons to travel to stage 3. STAGE 3: Hit boxes to summon bloctopuses which drop one pass each. Collect a total of 32 and hand them to the leader, leader clicks balloons, you enter stage 4. STAGE 4: There are 5 portals. Each one has a dark shadow monster. The first two portals on the bottom are for everybody, the second to the bottom even has two in there. The other three portals on the top are for magicians. Kill the dark shadows and collect a total of 6 passes and give them to the leader. Now wait for the leader to click the balloons and you should go to stage 5. STAGE 5: When you enter stage five, DON’T TOUCH THE MONSTER BELOW YOU IT HITS 8,000 AND WILL KILL YOU. That portal is for a thief with dark sight. Anyways, there are six portals: 4 regular portals in the middle for all classes. 1 portal for a thief with dark sight on the bottom. 1 portal for a magician with teleport. Middle Portals: Simple. Hit the boxes on those ledges and gather four passes and head to the top and enter the portal to reenter stage 5. Leave the portal and return to the balloons. Bottom Portal: If you are a thief put that dark sight on, and get past that giant monster without killing yourself. Collect four passes by turning dark sight on and off while throughout the portal and hitting the boxes. Once finished, you have two ways to leave, the top or the bottom. It really doesn’t matter, but I prefer the top. Leave the portal and return to the balloons. I believe brawlers and HP Fighters can get into the portal to now, but it puts brawlers at a heavy risk. Top Portal: A magician needs to teleport to get on top of the ledge to enter the portal. Now that you are in, teleport down then hit a box. Keep doing that until all four boxes are destroyed and four passes are dropped and collected. Leave the portal and return to the balloons. Everyone should hand their passes to the leader. Note if you only have five people at this point, someone has to do two portals. If you don’t have a magician or a thief, leave the PQ and invite one. Anyway, click the balloons and enter stage 6. STAGE 6: You should be in a room with three reachable boxes. Well, there is a simple order to the boxes which is not randomized like stage 8 or the KPQ combination stuff. The order is: 133 221 333 123 111. Enter the portal to reach stage 7. STAGE 7: Have your bowman or assassin or even gunslinger destroy the boxes at the top to summon rombarg. This is like a mini boss battle where you have to defeat the three monsters next to the boxes to summon three rombargs. Head to the bottom and fight all three of them. Once they are all destroyed, collect the three passes, give them to the leader, and head to stage 8. STAGE 8: This is a REALLY ANNOYING stage. It’s a stage with the combinations you saw in KPQ. If you don’t have 5 or more people, you can not do anything in this stage and you have to leave the PQ. Anyway there are 9 numbered boxes. 5 people should stand on numbers 12345. There are two different ways, the easy way, and the fast way, but I’m just going to only show the easy way. The fast way is something called KMS Style (Korean Maple Story) where the players stand on 12345, and do the PQ as usual until they get to 12789, where the person on 1 starts alternating to 2, and then goes back to 1, and the players do much less work. Now the leader clicks, after each combination like in KPQ. The combinations are: 12345 12346 12347 12348 12349 12356 12357 12358 12359 12367 12368 12369 12378 12379 12389 12456 12457 12458 12459 12467 12468 12469 12478 12479 12489 12567 12568 12569 12578 12579 12589 12678 12679 12689 12789 13456 13457 13458 13459 13567 13568 13569 13578 13579 13589 13678 13679 13689 13789 14567 14568 14569 14678 14679 14689 14789 15678 15679 15689 15789 16789 23456 23457 23458 23459 24567 24568 24569 24678 24679 24689 24789 25678 25679 25689 25789 26789 34567 34568 34569 35678 35679 35689 35789 36789 45678 45679 45689 45789 46789 56789 Yeah. There are those 91 combinations. Which is a little more than a 1% chance to clear each time. If you didn’t get it right, after 56789, your party probably did something wrong. Redo it if you didn’t get it right. Otherwise, if you got a clear, head to the final stage. A CRACK IN THE ROOM: This is the final stage of experience. Have the person who shot the boxes in stage 7 shoot the box up on the ledge AFTER everyone is ready. Alishar has appeared. He hits a TOP of 700, so look out. In the middle of the battle he can seal skills, decrease accuracy, and summon monsters after he hits a
certain HP. After 1/5 of the battle he summons chronos. After 2/5, he summons bigger chronos, after 3/5 he summons those pink chronos, after 4/5 he summons a variety of chronos, and then after he is defeated, he drops keys. Have the leader pick up the keys. WITHOUT BONUS: Your leader decides to bonus rush (brush) which is where the leader kicks a member and reinvites him quickly to make it in time to get in the same PQ. BONUS: A variety of mesos, napoleons (level 50 capes), and level 50 earrings, and a bunch of use items drop after destroying a box. Collect as many goodies as you can for a minute. After one minute ends, you must quickly run up the ladders and talk to the person who will lead you out and give you a parting gift (provided you have space for it) which could be scrolls, potions, ores, etc. Once you are out, wait for your leader to take you in again or quit the party and do something else. But this is only if Ludibrium Party Quest is populated, otherwise nab your goodies with bonus since in some of the servers, many people prefer getting experience from Level 35-50 through monster carnival PQ. I’d say this quest is done because it is easy to get in, gives decent EXP and even gives you a chance to get Level 50 capes and earrings, which you can either sell or scroll. Otherwise, do the carnival PQ if you are looking for a necklace or weapons. ---------------------------------------------------- 5.2.3 Orbis PQ: Level 51-70 - (Credit goes to MetricZero on everything up to the end of stage 2) The third PQ in the game is called the OPQ or Orbis Party Quest. This quest is located in a different continent than the Ludi and kerning PQ. This quest is in Orbis. Starting at Ellinia, you take the ship to Orbis for a price of 5000 mesos. You wait for the ship, then get on when it comes. Wait for it to take off, and then wait another 10 minutes to get to Orbis. Once you arrive at Orbis, head out of the ticketing booth and into Orbis. Go to the far bottom right portal and you will be taken into the entrance of Orbis tower. Take the portal on the far right again, and you will be taken to the Unknown Tower, the place where the Orbis Pq is held. Getting In: First, you have to find a party that wants to do the PQ. Make sure you enter the party you want to do because there are 2 types of PQ. The Boss PQ is recommended for higher levels, that want to complete the whole PQ and get the prize at the end. The Rush Pq is for anyone that wants to get more experience(depending on condition) and wants to do it faster. The key is, once you do 1 boss PQ, you get less experience for Rush PQ stages. (I.E.:1st stage is 6000 exp without doing boss, but 4100 exp if you do boss. So anyways, to get in, find the party of your choice, then wait till your leader clicks to get in. Leading: If you are leading the party, then you need to recruit 6 people, go to a channel, click on wonky, and get in. But, if people are inside, you will not be able to get in until they exit. So click like there’s NO tomorrow!!! Also, if you have one person of every class, you automatically get Wonky’s Blessing, which increases, speed, def, m. def, or attack of your entire party. Skills you need: Okay, one more thing. Some skills are REQUIRED for this PQ. At least level 10 haste is needed for the 2nd stage and you need a mage with teleport to do the jumps because they are 124% jump, while the max for regular people is 123%. 1st stage: Congrats you got in!! Alright, when you get in, you will be teleported to a map where Wonky’s speech pops up. Just ignore it and press Enter. The objective of this stage is to hit all the clouds that look suspicious and collect 20 cloud pieces for wonky. This stage is fairly easy and should take you no more than 3 minutes. Once you have all 20 pieces, give them to your leader and he/she should drop them on the altar. The clouds should disappear and Eak the cloud should appear. Have the leader talk to Eak, and you will be transported to the top of the tower. Enter the portal. For Leaders: I encourage you leaders to be active too, so the stage will go faster. Once you collect all the clouds from the party members, drop them all on the altar and wait for them to disappear. Eak appears, so you click on him. 2nd stage: Whew, you made it! Now, unlike the other Party Quests, this PQ can be done in any order. I will follow the recommended way, but if you want to use a different combination of stages, be my guest. For the leaders, the leaders can abuse their power here. They have to enter the stage first, before the party members can. So follow the party leader and hope they know what to do =P Okay, the recommended second stage is the Lobby, which is located just to the right of the tower when you enter it. The objective of this stage is to find the right color CD and drop it on the record player. The problem is, each day has a different CD, so you have to make sure you find the right color CD. To get the CDs, you must hit boxes that are on ledges near the top, therefore, you must jump to get to the top. Watch out for the spear things that come up and time yourself right. This can be very frustrating for beginners, but can be very easy for skilled members. Once you have the right color CD, drop it on the record player and it should start playing the song. The leader should now click Eak to clear the stage and get out. You will receive 7500 exp. Color of CDs: Sunday: Red Monday: Orange Tuesday: Yellow Wednesday: Purple Thursday: Dark Blue Friday: Light Blue Saturday: Green Alright, on to the next stage! 3rd stage: As I said before, you can go to any stage of your liking, but this guide takes you to the recommended stage. So, welcome to the sealed room. To get to the sealed room, you must climb up to the place with the statue and keep climbing on the ladder till you reach a platform. -------------------------------------------------- 5.2.7 Amoria PQ: Level 40+ (AND must be married) Why would anyone do this quest if you hardly get any experience? There is one reason MOST people APQ, and that would be for the valuable Onyx Apples. These Onyx Apples give you 100 ADDITIONAL Weapon Attack AND Magic Attack for ten minutes. This is the only way you can get these, other than buying them (which is what most people do with their apples, selling them). Note you are allowed to get the ticket to start this quest only ONCE in six hours. (Unless you get a ticket before entering and decide not to go in, then you may go twice.) Before the Party Quest: First, you must go to Amoria (available by talking to the NPC named Thomas Swift in Henesys) and travel east to the Purplewood Forest. Now you must collect ten Lip Lock keys from the white boar and the indigo eyes in that map. Once you have the keys, go to Amos’ Training Ground. Now you get in a party with these requirements: - Five other MARRIED players. - At least one of each gender, for stage 1. - Attackers for the Geist Balrog (Level 85+ People) - People who hardly lag, if one person lags or disconnects out of the game, the whole party suffers. Leader: PLEASE do not enter until you made sure that the other five members are in, in case someone leaves on you, you would be stuck inside and needing to wait another six hours until you can do this quest. Other Members: Enter when you receive your ticket by giving Amos the keys, give him your ticket and go in. A good leader will wait and enter last, so do not wait for them to enter. Once the six members are in, and leader clicks Amos, you will be brought to STAGE 1. STAGE 1: You will spawn at the top of the map where the leader will click Amos a few times until three greenish portals appear. Enter the one that takes you to the middle of the map. MEN: Simply walk to the RIGHT and push up on the rock, you will be transported to a small training ground where you must kill every single monster in your field. Note you are unable to hit any monsters from the LADIES side, without a very, very long range attack (which certain attacks can cut through the wall) otherwise, leave that gender to do their work. LADIES: Simply walk to the LEFT and push up on the rock, you will be transported to a small training ground where you must kill every single monster in your field. Note you are unable to hit any monsters from the MEN side, without a very, very long range attack (which certain attacks can cut through the wall) otherwise, leave that gender to do their work. Once every single monster is defeated in both fields, talk to the Glimmer Man. He will summon a giant fairy which you must hunt down. Once the fairy is dead it gives you a golden hammer. Pick up the golden hammer and take it back to the mirror at the very center of this stage. Drop the hammer on the mirror and wait for the mirror to crack. Let the leader pick up the piece of mirror that drops after you wait a few seconds. The leader will take it back to the Glimmer Man and clear the stage. Head back to the top of the map and talk to Amos. STAGE 2: (Coming Soon...) STAGE 3: --------------------------------------------------- 6.
