Credits and Thanks Update History -------------- 1.0-November 1, 2007-Got the idea of writing up a guide to explain the economic system that is warehouses. There's still things to be done such as the Price and Fame rewards, but other than that, this guide shoud answer most of the common questions concerning warehouses. ----------------- 1: Copyright Info ----------------- This guide is copyright by me, Edward Tuttle (A.K.A, Shadorr), 2007. What are Warehouses? ----------------------- Warehouses are buildings located in the three capitas of Fairyland where players can donate their hard-earned work products for coins and fame. And by coins, I mean a lot more coins than you could earn from selling the items to a storekeeper or a junk peddler. It's also one of the few ways to earn fame when you've completed all of your quests. Why am I making a guide for warehouses? Simple, the "new" English version of Fairyland borrowed a similar economic system from the Taiwan version, where items are barely worth anything if you sell them to an NPC, and thus, some players find it very difficult to make money under the new system. One thing hasn't changed much; warehouses. If anything, they got much better. All shall be explained below. ----------------------- 3: Procurement Officers ----------------------- You've probably seen the blue messages every now and then. "Procurement Officer Dola: Now buying 2400 Bamboo" or something to that extent. You might be wondering to yourself: who could possibly want that much bamboo? I'll assure you, Dola is no player. He's actually one of the many Procurement Officers you'll find in the warehouses. They are aso better as Buyers if you are in the Dwarf kingdom. They are NPCs who will ask for various items from time to time, and will buy them for more money than usual. They also reward you fame based on the item you sell to them, giving you even more bang for your buck. Okay, so you've gathered up hundreds of that bamboo mentioned earier, but you don't know where these Procurement Officers are located. Below are the coordinates for each one, for each kingdom. Bluebird (Elf) ============== Bluebird Warehouse 1: 57:150 ---------------------------- Procurment Elf Alice Procurment Elf Zidin Procurment Elf Hudelan Procurment Elf Chuji Bluebird Warehouse 2: 63:540 ---------------------------- Procurment Elf Lily Procurment Elf Carnation Procurment Elf Caspia Procurment Elf Sunflower Bluebird Warehouse 3: 71:575 ---------------------------- Procurment Elf Gaderlan Procurment Elf Hunaglan Procurment Elf Haiyu Procurment Elf Margaret Construction Officers --------------------- Construction Officer Baba: 104:416 Construction Officer Mithra: 96:416 Rainbow City (Human) ==================== Rainbow City Warehouse 1: 144:583 --------------------------------- Procurment Officer Euro Procurment Officer Newt Procurment Officer Franc Procurment Officer Ruble Rainbow City Warehouse 2: 173:676 --------------------------------- Procurment Officer Yen Procurment Officer Mark Procurment Officer Pound Procurment Officer Dola Rainbow City Warehouse 3: 284:604 --------------------------------- Procurment Officer Thai Procurment Officer Peso Procurment Officer Shilling Procurment Officer Leck Construction Officers --------------------- Construction Officer Skye: 206:494 Construction Officer Bath: 208:498 Goldburg (Dwarf) ================ Goldburg Warehouse 1: 114:387 ----------------------------- Buyer Taurus Buyer Airex Buyer Kancer Buyer Gimini Goldburg Warehouse 2: 86:156 ---------------------------- Buyer Leo Buyer Scirpio Buyer Virgo Buyer Balanco Goldburg Warehouse 3: 62:240 ---------------------------- Buyer Compecan Buyer Santarosa Buyer Aquarius Buyer Pisces Construction Officers --------------------- Construction Officer Nickolai: 77:326 Construction Officer Gore: 81:337 Many thanks to goddess for her NPC list. You've probably noticed I mentioned character race next to each city. This is because you can ONLY sell items to the kingdom your character is from. So a human would be unable to sell his stuff to a Buyer in Goldburg, even if he did request the items he had. Once you've met up with one of the Officers, you will have the option to sell your items in quantities of 20, 50, or 100. There are a few things to note about the different quantities. Selling in smaller amounts of 20 makes less money than if you sold in a quantity of 50 or 100. Even if you sold a stack of 20 bamboo five times, you still won't get as much as if you sold 100 bamboo at once. Most of the time, you can actualy get a bit more fame selling in quantities of 20 rather than 100, so if fame is what you're after, you might want to test the quantities a bit to make sure... Construction Officers are a bit different from Procurement Officers. They serve pretty much the same purpose, but they are found near the palaces rather than inside warehouses. They also ask for very high-leveled work products as well. There's a catch though, there are only two of these guys in each capital, and there's usually a lot of competition over who sells their 1000 tungsten ores and such. Some players simply stockpile a product they speciailize in gathering, and hold tons of it in their bank until the time comes that is it in demand. The worst part is that it usually takes a LONG time before they request the same items again, so don't miss your chance when it comes up. Which brings me to the last bit, when they stop buying. Procurement Officers will stop buying a certain item when either A: They have gathered the requested amount of said item or B: A certain about of time has passed and decide to stop buying the item (a notice wil usually be given by the officer when time is running out). Supposedy, the items they buy depend on the day of the week, but it seems to be completely random, so long as no two officers are buying the same item. ----------------------------- 3: Logistics Trading Officers ----------------------------- Wow, that's a long name. For the sake of this guide, I'm just going to call them "Trading Officers", I doubt the logistics part is necessary to know the difference. Anyways, these are a new type of NPC you can find in every warehouse. What's so special about them? Read on to find out. Hand-ins -------- Ever had one of those days where you mined tons of tungsten ore so that one day you could sell it to the Construction Officer? Then you waited for a week and finally, he requests it! You rush over to the bank and withdraw a thousand ores that you mined up, but before you get to the officer, you find out that some other power-worker beat you to him, and sold almost all of the ore he requested. So much for that idea... I'm pretty sure some "veteran workers" from the past versions of FL had something like this happen. Hand-ins sorta remedy the probem. You can now hand in items to a warehouse, even when the Procurement Officers aren't buying what you've got. There are many differences however with hand-ins. -No fame is earned through hand-ins. -The money you get from hand-ins depends on the current stock of the item you are trying to hand in. The higher the stock, the less the item is worth. -Selling in larger quantities does not make more money than selling in smaller quantities. You'd get as much from selling 100 bamboo as you would from selling 20 bamboo five times. -You cannot sell any more items when the stock has reached it's maximum. Purchase -------- Another neat feature of trading officers is the ability to purchase items that have been handed-in. This can be useful if the materias or items you need aren't in the Marketplace. The prices for purchase, I believe, are static, and do not change with stock. The Stockpile ------------- Whenever items are handed-in to a Trading Officer, a stockpile builds up. I'm not certain if it's the same for every item, but for the lower-level products, the maximum is 30000 for each item. Once the maximum is reached, you cannot hand-in that item anymore until the stockpile drops. You can always ask the trading officer for a list of each item's stock. Stockpile decreases in one of two ways. -Someone buys the stockpiled items from a Trading Officer -It decays over time. I'm not entirely exact on the decay factor, but it's there if nobody is purchasing, as there's many items that most people usually don't buy. The Race Factor --------------- Unlike Procurement Officers, you don't have to buy or sell your items from a Trading Officer in your city. However, there are downsides for dealing with a Trading Officer that's not from your kingdom, namely that you earn less money from turn-ins and have to pay more when you purchase. Take the below example for instance. Keep in mind the turn-in prices were done when there were only a couple thousand bamboo in the stockpiles. When I (a dwarf) am in Goldburg... I get 140 coins for turning in 20 bamboo I pay 150 for 20 bamboo when I purchase When I (a dwarf) am in Bluebird... I get 130 coins for turning in 20 bamboo I pay 160 for 20 bamboo when I purchase And that's just bamboo, the difference is much more noticeable when you're deaing with the higher-level items. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you do your deals with the Trading Officer from your respective kingdom. ------------------------------- 5: Item Prices and Fame Rewards ------------------------------- This section is currently under construction. ----------------------------- 6: Frequently Asked Questions ----------------------------- Q: Wait, I can buy ANYTHING from a Trading Officer? A: Anything that can be produced by work skills EXCEPT equipments. But yeah, you can buy every other work-produced item, which is great for when a quest requires you to get some items that you lack the work skills for, or maybe you need foods and pots. Provided they're in stock of course. Q: What about cut gems created from Gemcutting? A: Nope, you can't turn those in to any officers. Cutting crystals and amethysts is no longer what is used to be... Q: Buying gems? A: No purchasing gems either. --------------------- 7: Credits and Thanks --------------------- +Lager, for bringing back English Fairyland. +goddess for her awesome NPC locations guide. +Me, for going to the trouble of making this guide!
