Walk towards the end of the path and keep looking at the wall to your left. It's a square container. Return it for the Enigma Codex. 3.3.5. Difference Engine Location: Augusta Tower -200 AF- CP: 400 CP Talk to a holographic screen in floor 50F who will ask you to find Paradox Agent Type C. It's on 49F. Go to the western part of the inner walkway. Look down and besides one of the pillars is a square container. You need to throw Mog exactly against it. Return it for the Difference Engine. 3.3.6. Ruthenium Ring Location: Bresha Ruins -100 AF- CP: 1000 CP To obtain this fragment complete the Raymond sidequest. The requester is in the small area you cannot access in 5 AF and 300 AF (only in 100 AF). He'll ask you to pacify a mercenary, which is nearby. Talk to him and flatter him three times for the fragment. 3.5.2. Rhodium Ring Location: Bresha Ruins -100 AF- CP: 1000 CP To obtain this fragment talk to Ronan in Lamentable Rest (the cemetery area). He will mention a device next to him. Go to Bresha Ruins -300 AF- to the same location and retrieve the device in the same position. Bring it back to -100 AF- for the Rhodium Ring. 3.5.3. Palladium Ring Location: Bresha Ruins -100 AF- CP: 1000 CP To obtain this complete the weapons material quest. The requester is at the entrance of the ruins. The square container with the weapon materials is in the ruins (where Chocolina is at -05 AF-). Return them to her to obtain the fragment. 3.5.4. Osmium Ring Location: Bresha Ruins -100 AF- CP: 1000 CP Talk to a Professor outside the southwestern tunnel who will ask you to find his assistant. His assistant is in the tunnel. He's out of phase with a golden circle so you will need to reveal him. Take his notes back to the Professor for the fragment. 3.5.5. Iridium Ring Location: Bresha Ruins -300 AF- CP: 400 CP To obtain this complet Lex's buddy quest. Talk to Lex in the graveyard. Find his buddy in the ruins. Beat him in the joke dialogue and he will give you the notes. Bring the notes back to Lex for this fragment. 3.5.6. Platinum Ring Location: Bresha Ruins -300 AF- CP: 400 CP Talk to Jonah in the stairs that will ask you to retrieve a comm device. Find it in the ruins in the small room made of four squares with a chocobo inside. It's an out of phase square container. Reveal it with Mog and open it to get the comm device. Return it for the fragment. 3.5.7. Mythril Ring Location: Bresha Ruins -300 AF- CP: 400 CP Talk to Thurston in the southwestern ruins. He will ask you to talk to the Commander. You can find him near the open area (where there was a portal in Bresha Ruins -005 AF-). The Commander will give you his report. Bring the report back to Thurston for the Mythril Ring. 3.5.8. Adamantite Ring Location: Bresha Ruins -100 AF- CP: 1000 CP Talk to Porter next to the Device Control Unit after obtaining all other Rings (Bounty Hunter's Prize fragments). He says you will need two passwords. [First Password] Travel to Yaschas Massif -100 AF- and talk to Uma (in the leader's tent) to get Thorne's Information. Travel to Yaschas Massif -110 AF- and reveal and talk to the lost man in the dead end southeast of town. You will get the first password. [Second Password] Fast forward to Bresha Ruins -300 AF-. Talk to the agent and examine the machine. Solve the anomaly to get the second password. Talk to Porter to get the Adamantite Ring. ------------------------------------ 3.6 Crimson Memories 3.6.1. Waltraute's Flower Location: Yaschas Massif -110 AF- CP: 500 CP Talk to a red orb next to the base of the ramps in the archaeopolis. He will ask you to talk to the technician. First, find the Service Manual item (out of phase square item container inside the tent Hope was in a past time). You will need 40-50 hours to obtain about 140 of all 160 fragments, and about 10-15 more hours to obtain the last ones (fully explore all maps, obtain a full bestiary). If you have played the game before one or more times and already know how to cut corners, obtain multiple fragments and items with shortcuts, have the DLC with the overpowered characters, you can probably obtain clear the game in 10-15 hours and obtain all fragments in 35-40 hours of total gameplay. 5.2. How many fragments are storyline-included and how many are extra? It's hard to say. I would estimate around 30-50 fragments are collected through the natural course of the storyline, and the rest are obtained by sidequests and extras. 5.3. What do I get when I obtain all 160 fragments? You obtain a special cutscene after the game ending when you beat the game again, and you obtain the Time Master Fragment Skill, which allows you to slow down or speed up time. 5.4. How many locations do I need to visit? You need to visit all locations in the Historia Crux. Therefore you need to open all the gates, including collecting all the 10 Wild Artifcats and opening their respective gates. 5.5. I can't find [X] item for [Y] sidequest! Help! Items for sidequests usually are in the same map if the requester doesn't say anything otherwise. For example, if someone asks you to find a comm device, picture frame, or other, it's 99% in the same map, same time. In these cases, the items are square containers and usually out of phase (you need to use Mog to reveal them). They are usually found away from the requester. So if the requester is in the city/camp/where characters cluster, the item is probably in the outskirts, and if the requester is in the outskirts, the item is probably in the city/camp/where characters cluster. There are a few exceptions to this, as when Jed in the Bresha Ruins 3 AF asks you to find a flower that can only be found when it snows (it snows in the ruins at Bresha Ruins 300 AF). 5.6. I can't talk to a specific person to start a quest! Help! You cannot take on more than two quests at once. So, if you already have two active quests in that time and space, people that would open up new quests will not talk to you until you complete your current quests. It will probably happen to you in the Yaschas Massif or the Bresha Ruins that you already have two active tasks and can't talk to new people to start tasks until you finish your current ones. 5.7. I can't close the gate on Academia -4XX AF-! Where is the seal? The seal is in The Dying World, -700 AF-. On your way from the settlement to the seiress's statue, when you take a sharp turn in the settlement loom at the stone wall to your right. It's in a square container there. 5.8. I can't beat Caius with the Paradox Scope! Help! With the Paradox Scope activated, Caius is in fact much strong. Both solo battles will be very hard. However, a good little trick is using an item called Unicorn Horn. This item causes an immediate Dispel, with 100% hit rate. So whenever Caius puts up his buffs again, use this to immediately dispel him and pummel him again. 5.9. Does any DLC help in obtaining the fragments? Yes. All DLC (excluding outfits) contains very powerful characters. These characters will help you defeat the more powerful monsters. Apart from that, they won't help with obtaining fragments. Coliseum battle monsters will only help you after you beat the main storyline (you will need to be very tough to beat them). The specific DLC Lightning: Requiem of the Goddess allows you to obtain a 7000 HP monster if you beat the DLC itself, and you don't need to have beaten any part of the story to take advantage of it, but it does contain spoilers. 5.10. I'm missing [XYZ] monster for my bestiary! Help! Don't forget you need to fight all monsters in order to obtain the fragment. This includes all storyline monsters, all Paradox Ending monsters, and all wild monsters, both normal and the stronger ones obtained with Battlemania. Commonly missing monsters: - Raspatil in Oerba -400 AF- - Proto fal'Cie Adam (third version) (There is a version of the Proto fal'Cie you only fight if you make a mistake in the Live Trigger. Which is the fastest order to obtain the Paradox Endings? I found the fastest order to obtain the Paradox Endings for me was: - Obtain P.E. Fate And Freedom (storyline, Serah's dream); - Obtain P.E. Transcript: A Giant Mistake (Close the gate on Bresha Ruins and fight Atlas again); - Clear the game first time; - Obtain P.E. Transcript: Mog's Marvelous Flan Plan (Close the gate on Sunleth Waterscape, fight His Royal Ripeness); - Obtain P.E. Transcript: Test Subjects (Close the gate on Augusta Tower, activate Paradox Scope, fight Adam); - Obtain the three remaining Caius Paradox Endings activating the Paradox Scope, closing the gates and fighting Caius in all three different situations of Oerba -200 AF-, A Dying World -700 AF- on first visit, and The Void Beyond from Academia -4XX AF- on first visit;
