Intro ******************************GOLF_1********************************** Not a bunch to say about this game. Polar Golfer is a fun game made by WildTangent. It is a more interactive golf game, where you literally can control the ball as you shoot, and even get bonuses. All in all, very fun. Eh, enough of my lame intro. Onto the FAQ! 2. On the keyboard: -- Spacebar/Enter : Swing club. -- Left/Right Arrows : Aim left or right before the swing; steer golf ball left or right after the swing. -- Up/Down Arrows : Give more or less power before the swing. -- "Esc" button : Exit full screen mode. -- "B" button : Back. -- "C" button : Change viewpoint. -- "F" button : Enter full screen mode. -- "H" button : Help menu. -- "N" button : Next. -- "O" button : Options menu. -- "Q" button or Alt+F4: Quit game. =============================================================================== Object of the Game =============================================================================== The basic goal of any hole of golf is to first swing the ball to the hole in as few swings as possible. To aid you, there are some tools on-screen: -- The blue circle with the line nearby is your power gauge. -- The blue circle with the arrows lets you aim before the shot. -- At the top of the screen is a marker with a flag, showing the direction to the hole. -- The blue "Camera" button changes your point of view. -- The green arrows change your club. -- The big red circle makes you start your swing on the first click; the second clicks sets your power and starts your swing. Once you swing, you can use your mouse to move the ball left or right to hit certain things. On each hole, you'll keep this up until you reach the hole. =============================================================================== Scoring =============================================================================== Depending on the mode of play, there are two methods of scoring. In Stroke Play, it is like basic golf. You get more points the further under par you are, in essence. (Yes, negatives are better.) There are no power-ups here. In Championship play, you still count strokes, but the end result is converted into points. There are also bonuses for power-ups and well-shot shots. Here is the scoring system: Distance Bonuses: - Fairway bonus = (Drive yardage - 150) points (from the tee only) - Green bonus = (Approach yardage - 50) points (in regulation play) - Chip bonus = (Approach yardage + 50) points (from off of the green) - Putt bonus = 3 points per foot Strokes Bonuses: - Hole-In-One = 1,000 points - Double Eagle/Albatross (3 under par) = 800 points - Eagle (2 under par) = 600 points - Birdie (1 under par) = 400 points - Par = 200 points - Bogey (1 over par) = 0 points - Double Bogey (2 over par) = -100 points - Triple Bogey (3 over par) = -200 points - 4 over par = -300 points - 5 over par = -400 points - 6 over par = -500 points - 7 over par = -600 points - Did not finish = -700 points Miscellaneous Bonuses: - Bonus Rings = 200, 400, or 600 points. =============================================================================== Power-Ups =============================================================================== Randomly throughout Championship Play, you'll find bunches of rings. These are power-ups, and they each do certain things. -- The purple stars make this shot not count as a stroke. You'll get your freeway/etc. bonuses, but it just doesn't count otherwise. Example: on a par-5 hole, you take six strokes and hit one of these, and you'll make par. -- The lightning bolts give golf balls a jolt of power, increasing the distance they fly. -- The dollar signs ($) give you 200, 400, or 600 points, depending on how many dollar signs there are. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++ +++ +++ This is the end of KeyBlade999's +++ +++ Polar Golfer FAQ. +++ +++ +++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ________________ | ____________ | | | | | | | | | | |____________| |________________________________________ | |____________| |_________________________ | | | | | | |\ /\ /| | | | | | | | \ / \ / | | | |____________| | | | (_) (_) | | |________________| |_| |_| ___ ___ ___ /'__`\ /'__`\ /'__`\ /\ \_\ \ /\ \_\ \ /\ \_\ \ \ \___, \ \ \___, \ \ \___, \ \/__,/\ \ \/__,/\ \ \/__,/\ \ \ \_\ \ \_\ \ \_\ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ KeyBlade999
