I'd like to introduce myself as Spinnah. As of writing this introduction, Dungeons of Dredmor was released but a few days ago. After the game managed to addict me for many hours, and after I promptly got many of my friends addicted, I decided this would be the first game I would write a FAQ for. I am not claiming to be the best player at this game, I'm anything but that. But I do love to know everything there is to know about a game, which I think qualifies me to write this. Now lets cover what you will and won't find in this guide. You will not learn how to play or beat the game with this guide. This is not a walkthrough. Considering that the game is randomly generated, a walkthrough would be quite hard to properly write. If you want to learn to play the game, Dungeons of Dredmor includes numerous tutorials, all of which are very helpful. You will instead learn what you can fight, what you can fight that which you fight with, and all the wonderful items you can find in this game. Obviously, there is a lot to find and fight in this game, so please bear with me when I say that this guide will not be finished for quite some time. But I will do my best to keep this guide regularly updated as I gather new information. If you would like to contribute to this guide in some way, please see the "Contributing FAQ" section [12] for details. In addition, Gaslamp Gaming will at some point in the future be releasing regular updates to the game that may change existing objects in the game or that will add new things. As before, I will do my best to keep up with these updates. Note: This guide is written for Dwarvish Moderation. I cannot be sure how things change at different difficulty levels. =*=*=*=*= | SHRINES | [4] ========= There are three main shrines in the Dungeons of Dredmor: The Shrine of the Lutefisk God, The Anvil of Krong, and The Shrine of Inconsequentia, the Goddess of Pointless Sidequests. You will randomly stumble upon these shrines as you progress through the dungeon, with each one having the chance to help or hurt you. So which god you should you pray to and why? Let us find out. ============================= The Shine of the Lutefisk God [4.1] ============================= You will find Lutefisk shrines in large rooms that look in my opinion like an octopus. Upon clicking on the shrine, you will be informed about how much Lutefisk you have tithed to the great Lutefisk God. Upon tithing enough pieces of Lutefisk, you will be granted a rare item. The more you tithe, the better chance you have of getting a rarer item. The minimum about of Lutefisk required to receive an item is 5. Once you have received your item, the shrine will break and become unusable. Therefor, it is in your best interest to save up as many Lutefisk as possible and donate them all at once to hopefully receive the best item. There are two ways to gather Lutefisk. The first is to simply find them randomly, like any other item. From what I can tell, they're pretty rare. The second and arguably easier way is to find a Horadric Lutefisk Cube. If you don't know what a Horadric Cube is, shame on you. Go play Diablo 2 this very second before you continue reading. Moving on, placing an item in the HLC will turn it into a piece of Lutefisk. The cube itself is rare, but once you have one, you can easily stack up on Lutefisk. ================== The Anvil of Krong [4.2] ================== **GET EXCITED, COMING SOON!** ============================ The Shrine of Inconsequentia [4.3] ============================ **GET EXCITED, COMING SOON!** =*=*=*= | TRAPS | [5] ======= **GET EXCITED, COMING SOON!** =*=*=*= | STATS | [6] ======= So you have just made your character, and now you want to know how he's going to perform. Stats are the answer to that. The game has quite a lot of them, split between primary and secondary stats. Like the game explains, it's not really necessary to know what all of them do, just that you want bigger numbers as opposed to smaller numbers. Your stats increase as you level up, and as you get better equipment. If you are curious though what all of the various colored icons do, read on! ========== Primary Stats [6.1] ========== =Burliness: Burliness is the primary attribute of the warrior and pertains to getting into trouble, hitting ones head on other people, and getting hit by large objects/limbs/pseudopods. It affects hitpoints, melee power, and block chance. =Sagacity: Sagacity is the primary attribute of the wizard, and is mostly about being a know-it-all. It affects mana points and magic power. =Nimbleness: Nimbleness is the primary attribute of the rogue and is the quality of swiftness, grace, and not getting hit by things. It affects dodge chance, sneakiness, enemy dodge reduction, and counter-attack chance. Nimbleness is pretty great. =Caddishness: Caddishness is the primary attribute of the pirate and revolves around not caring about the feelings of others. It affects critical hit and counter-attack chance. =Savvy: Savvy is the primary attribute of the bard and involves being clever while avoiding trouble. It affects magical haywire chance and sneakiness. =Stubbornness: Stubbornness is the primary attribute of the monk and enhances self-righteousness and the ability to ingore mean things other people say about you. It affects magical resistance and block chance. =============== Secondary Stats [6.2] =============== **GET EXCITED, COMING SOON!** =*=*=*=* | SKILLS | [7] ======== Skills are how you accomplish anything in this game. Sure, you can just click on everything, but what good is that? Shoot a fireball, dodge a trap, work with your hands, be exciting! When choosing your character, you can pick 7 skills to shape who you want to be. These also directly influence the "title" your character gets when leveling up. When you level up, you get one skill point which can be spent upgrading any skill tree. Skills are broken up into three categories, warrior, rogue, and wizard. The next few sections will show you all the skills and their respective trees. ============== Warrior Skills [7.1] ============== =Swords =Axes =Maces =Staves =Unarmed =Dual Wielding =Shield Bearer =Master of Arms =Berserker Rage =Deadshot ============ Rogue Skills [7.2] ============ =Thrown Weaponry =Crossbows =Artful Dodging =Archaeology =Fungal Arts =Smithing =Perception =Burglary =Assassination =Alchemy =Tinkering =========== Wizard Skills [7.3] =========== =Astrology =Wand Lore =Promethean Magic =Magic Training =Ley Walker =Viking Wizardry =Vampirism =Golemancy =Psionics =Fleshsmithing =Mathemagic =Necronomiconomics =Blood Magic =*=*=*=*=* | MONSTERS | [8] ========== This game wouldn't be very hard if all you had to do was walk around and gather loot. Thankfully, there are monsters there to make your life miserable. They come in various shapes, sizes, colors, and some are even unique. I will be organizing the monsters by the floor they appear on naturally. Unique monsters, from things such as evil chests and quests, may appear on a differnt floor than normal. Monsters will be listed by the highest floor they appear on, so if a monster appears on floor one and two, I will only list it on floor one. ========= Floor One [8.1] ========= **GET EXCITED, COMING SOON!** =*=*=*= | ITEMS | [9] ======= **GET EXCITED, COMING SOON!** =*=*=*=*=* | CRAFTING | [10] ========== **GET EXCITED, COMING SOON!** =*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*= | VERSION HISTORY | [11] ================= =Version: 0.25 Date: July 18, 2011 Added: Outline, Disclaimer, Table of Contents, Introduction, Shrines Intro, Lutefisk Shrine, Stats Intro, Main Stats, Skills Intro and some Skills, Monsters Intro, Version History 0.25, Contributing FAQ, Closing Updated: N/A =*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=* | CONTRIBUTING FAQ | [12] ================== Q: What is this section for? A: For informing you, the loyal Dungeons of Dredmor player and community member, how you can help contribute to this guide! Q: What kind of information are you looking for? A: Lots of stuff! If you haven't realized it yet, this game is kind of big. It's a lot for me to go through by myself. Basically, if you have an item, monster, trap, whatever, that is not yet in this FAQ, and you want it to be included, submit it to me. Q: What format should I submit it in? A: Please see the category intro for formatting. You don't need to use the same format as I do, but you do need to include all the same information. Or, you can simply send me a screenshot, this may save us both time. Q: How do I submit it to you oh great Spinnah? A: This is easy, peon! There are two main ways to contact me. You can email me, my contact info is posted at the top of this guide, or you can make a topic on the DoD board. I frequent the board quite often, you can either post in my topic specifically for this guide, or make your own if my topic is not around for whatever reason. But please do not clog up the board! Q: There is something wrong with your guide! WHAT DO?! A: Oh no! Please don't hurt me! Mistakes could either be my fault or a contributor's fault. Either way, I want to make sure they get fixed. Please message me with the error in question, and I'll do my best to fix it. If it is an item stats error, please send me a screenshot of the correct stats so that I may fix it. Q: I have more questions that aren't answered here! A: That's more of a statement, but if you have a question, either email me or message me on GameFAQs, and I'd be happy to help. Q: What do I get for contributing to your guide? A: A jillionty dollars! :D No, not really, but you do get your name placed in the closing section of this guide, as a big thank you to our great community. =*=*=*=*= | CLOSING | [13] ========= Welcome to the end of the Dreadmorian Archives, thank you for reading!
