~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ THE RISE OF ATLANTIS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Guide to Unlimited LIVES and POWERUPS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Author: onca747 Email: onca@hotmail.com Version: 1.0 Date: 25 November, 2013 ------- The Rise of Atlantis is a great game. But is the increasing difficulty getting you down? Wish you had more lives and powerups to see you through? Hanging out for that free screensaver? Then this cheat guide is for you! Fortunately, adding more lives and powerups is as simple as modifying the game save file with a text editor. Ok, just follow these simple steps: --- 1. Start a game for the first time, if you haven't already, and quit. --- 2. Find the file "GameInfo.xml". This is actually the hardest part. In XP it will probably live here: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\TERMINAL Studio@\The Rise of Atlantis or C:\Documents and Settings\[your name]\Application Data\TERMINAL Studio@\The Rise of Atlantis On Windows 7 (and Vista possibly) here: C:\ProgramData\TERMINAL Studio\The Rise of Atlantis If you can't find it, just search your entire C: drive for "GameInfo.xml", and use the one in "The Rise of Atlantis" folder and modified recently. This is for the PC game obviously; I'd imagine the Mac version should be similar, just search your hard disk for the file. --- 3. Now you've located "GameInfo.xml" (make a copy, just in case), edit the file. You need to right-click and "Edit" to open it in Notepad; don't double-click, as that will open it in IExplorer. --- 4. Scan thru the file until you find this line: Where x is 0, 1, 2, or 3, and represents each of your powerups, thus: 0 = Lightning 1 = Hourglass 2 = Swapper 3 = Bomb Now just change "y" to the number of that powerup you want to have. --- 6. Save and close the file. Now start your game and enjoy the advantages! Note: The game will only display maximum of "999" of each powerup. I don't know if you can specify a higher number with the cheating, but I wouldn't recommend it, as putting in stupidly high numbers tends to break games. If you need more powerups simply quit and edit the file again. ------- Hint: Me, I only give myself Hourglass powerups, to basically create my own "casual" mode while still retaining a bit of game challenge. Hint: (Not cheat related) When you start a new level, the countdown doesn't start until you click something. Use it to plan your opening moves. Hint: (Not cheat related) Save all your Swap powerups for the Trojan level. There are a lot of frustrating wall tiles. ------- Thanks for reading my guide, I hope you find it useful.
