Next are the possible requirements a quest has before one can proceed into it, and the rewards for finishing it. This is most useful for those who can't read the skills. --------- |Important| --------- If you decide not to follow this Walkthrough, here are some general tips to help you through this game. - Whenever you fail a quest, you lose all the items you obtained. However, you keep all experience and gold. Whenever you need to level up, consider sending characters to a place much stronger than they are so that they can kill one enemy, gain experience from that one fight, die in the next, and not lose valuable CP. This is useful the higher the difficulty gets. - Skill Points shouldn't be wasted. Barring the occassional boosts you can get, you are limited to essentially the level cap of the individual character. Make each Skill Point count, as upgrading anything only gives you one Action Point of that move if it's an Active Skill. - Don't be afraid to form parties that work well together. Your Charisma can reach a high number and for some areas you can switch an infinite amount of times. It's better to have efficient parties than fragmented ones. Sachiko can do whatever. You want to use as few actions as possible because you only get a limited number per quest, and it's good to get into the habit for the later quests. Sachiko should level up from this battle. =============== Follow the path, and you'll come across your next Fixed Battle. =============== Fixed Battle #2 =============== Squid Man Squid Man --- --- --- - While Suzume may not defeat a Squid Man in one attack, Sachiko can follow up with a Shield Bash to finish it off. =============== Continue along the path and touch the Green Star with an Exclamation Point. They're called Events and are usually for furthering the story, although some hold battles in later quests. After this, you'll notice a blue sphere to the left. Ignore it for now and continue right. You'll have a Fixed Battle not long after. =============== Fixed Battle #3 =============== --- --- Squid Man --- Squid Man - This is more or less the same battle as before. It shouldn't be hard to finish them both off. =============== Continue along the path, ignoring the Red Star with an Exclamation Point and go down to your fourth Fixed Battle. =============== Fixed Battle #4 =============== --- --- --- Squid Man --- - One attack by Rance finished him off. =============== Go back and touch the blue sphere, which restores everybody's HP to full. Unfortunately, it doesn't restore action points, so you'll have to remember that in future quests. Now, to continue, touch the Red Star. Pretty much anything Red stands for a battle, so this'll be another fixed battle. However, this usually denotes a midboss, boss, or slightly harder regular battle. =============== Fixed Battle #5 =============== --- --- Squid Man Hanny Squid Man - The Hanny has enough health to cause problems for your team, and if you didn't get Suzume you don't have enough actions normally to finish off the entire team. That's what Rance Attack is for. Rance Attack has been upgraded, presumably because of how much it was used versus enemy armies. However, it takes a turn to charge up, so it can't be used right away. Do what damage you can to the Hanny, then unleash Rance Attack on Rance's second turn to defeat them all. With Suzume, it's pretty simple to take them out without Rance Attack. Keep in mind that you can lose this one and still continue on. This won't be true about future Battle Events. =============== From there, go all the way up, and just before the treasure chest, you'll get another fixed battle. =============== Fixed Battle #5 =============== Roupaa --- --- Kyankyan (Monster Girl) --- - Well, this is interesting. This battle will require Sachiko to attack Kyankyan if you don't have Suzume. Otherwise, a simple battle. =============== Go ahead and grab the treasure, then go back and take a left, going through another Event, and after that, move to the middle of the next room for your final Fixed Battle. =============== Fixed Battle #6 =============== Ruronta Ruronta --- --- --- - They'll poison you, but it barely matters at this point in the game. Beat them soundly with attacks, keeping in mind that you most likely need Suzume or Rance Attack (sans Suzume) to beat them completely. =============== Finally, move up to the Author's house to trigger the final Event. You'll receive 10 CP, and unlock Quests #13 and #36. --------- |Base Camp| --------- The panels here are your main locations. The 1st is greyed out, so you won't be able to select it yet. The 2nd is the Shop. You can buy stat enhancers, weapons, armor, and access- ories, and if you open your inventory, you can sell your items for 10 gold apiece. Because of that, you're better off donating. Sure, you don't get gold, but every time when you donate 25 items, a new item appears in the shop. The 3rd is the Party Menu. Here, you can adjust party members and everyone's equipment. The 4th is the Quest Menu. Here, you can select your next Quest. For those that can't read the "moonrunes" (like me), there really isn't anything that you need to know, just that the Shop menu's is, in order, Stat Enhancers, Weapons, Armor, and Accessories. By the way, your inventory is right next to the System Menu button, which has the four colored hannies on it. The button on the top right of each item is the donate button, and the one right next to it (to the left, only when the Shop panel is open) is the sell button. Everything else is either in English or aren't necessary to mess with. ------------------------------------ |Quest #13 - Alice's Cottage | |Difficulty: 0 | |REQ: None | |Rewards: Skill Reset (2nd time only)| ------------------------------------ As you can see from the Rewards section, do this quest twice to obtain a Skill Reset item. It's not really necessary as long as you pay a visit to the Character Sheet Section and plan out what you want to learn. But, this Skill Reset is here in case you need it. It's a story device, really. ------------------------------- |Quest #16 - Scouting at the Bar| |Difficulty: 0 | |REQ: None | |Recruit: Prima Hunneman | ------------------------------- Paying a visit to the Bar gets you Prima Hunneman. It has a different color outline, and that's because of her accessory, the Seirogan Box. It gives its equipper an equippable skill that can restore a target's HP by 50% of their max. That gives Prima a clear role for the early game: a healer. However, because of her class, she isn't that strong defen- sively, and because of her low level cap, she has a problem in the later game. She'll still be good as your initial healer, but it's not recommended to make too much use of her. For Prima, I recommend upgrading: - Slingshot - Simple Treatment 2 - Treasure Luck - Identify Treasure ------------------------------------- |Quest #83 - Hunting and Eating Grapes| |Difficulty: 3 | |REQ: None | |Rewards: 10 CP | ------------------------------------- Starting with this quest, except for certain quests I will mention, certain areas of quests will be randomly selected between a few different kinds of maps for that certain quest. The selected map will become the only one that shows up if the quest is completed with that map. For this quest, I've seen at least six configurations of the first map, but the second map is always the same. As such, I cannot give a step-by-step walkthrough, but at the very least it's straightforward this time around. First off, there will be a purple icon with spinning rectangles. This is a teleporter, so get used to seeing it. It teleports you to another map. In this map, you may be introduced to light blue spheres. These spheres are experience boosters, and they increase experience gained by 3% per sphere, so they're handy for training. You may also see a large G coin. Running into this will give you gold automatically. It's nice to see, but rather rare early on. Most of the Battle Events in this map will be of a Grape Monster, and you will obtain one bunch of Grapes from each of them. Obtaining 5 of them ends the mission. However, there's one Battle Event that has three of those monsters, and taking it out still gives you one bunch, so it's great for training. In the first map, make your way to the teleporter, making sure to ignore the Battle Events if you can. Once you teleport into the second map, you'll get thrown into a battle. =============== Midboss =============== Archer --- Swordsman Swordsman --- - Finally, the Archer's not in the front row. Still doesn't make the fight any harder, just a little longer because there's one more Swordsman. Make sure to guard Prima with Sachiko, and wail on them with Rance and Suzume. Don't use Rance Attack this early, you'll want to save it, especially since there's no limit to the moves allowed in this battle (typically denoting a Midboss or Boss). =============== Once you're done, go ahead and check out the entire map. There should be at least three treasure chests, and if you're lucky, some experience boosters and large G coins. Don't worry if you don't see any. (Two of the treasure chests have Clubs, we'll need those for a later quest.) Red Treasure Chests have a chance of exploding when you try to open them, but with Suzume in the party, you can safely open one without penalty. Upgrading her Safe Chest Opening will increase the amount of Red Chests you can safely open. Once you're done collecting all the bonuses, make your way to the bottom left to face off against the three Grape Monsters I mentioned earlier. =============== Fixed Battle #1 =============== --- --- Grape Monster Grape Monster Grape Monster - A dangerous fight, particularly because they have a 50% chance to stun with their normal attack. This is dangerous, especially because you only have ~10 of your own turns to defeat them. This is what Rance Attack is for. Assuming that Rance is stunned on his first turn, he'll gain resistance to it so he probably won't be stunned again in the same fight. Use Rance Attack to kill all of them. I had it tough when I made this insert because the Monsters stunned my entire front row, leaving only Prima to properly act. Thankfully, Rance managed to survive another stun attempt and Rance Attacked his way to a win. =============== From there, proceed to the other Battle Events and finish off the solo Grape Monsters. There shouldn't be a problem with any of them, and after getting 5 Bunches of Grapes, you're done. You may need to return to the previous area to finish the quest; that shouldn't be a problem. Finishing any 1 Quest seems to unlock Q#114. At this point, I like to repeat Quest #83, because despite the fact I actually lose CP in the long run, it's a good and easy place to train, I don't have to buy the necessary clubs for the party, and every time I finish two quests (whether new or not) somebody new shows up in Quest #16 to recruit. Weakness Search is a must if you're planning to use Sparta characters. Every time you Weakness Search an enemy, it unlocks their weakness for certain characters, including every Sparta character, to take advantage of their weakness. Even assuming you did the training over at Quest #83 by repeating it, there still is a good chance you're not strong enough to take on the quest and run around looking for treasure. This is especially true because there are now Red Mines around. You might have seen this icon three below the Experience Booster icon on the right side of the screen. These Red Mines contain guaranteed battles that occassionally might have a battle as strong as a midboss. In this quest, that battle will be against five humans, and it isn't a kind battle to say the least. If you want to explore in the map, go ahead, but when you run into a Red Mine and a conversation triggers, hit the second option to back away from the fight. You most likely can't beat it and finish the quest. Either way, continue along the path until you get to the teleporter. The mini- event (the Green Star without an exclamation point) isn't necessary to touch. In the second area, at the first fork, take the path heading right. You'll notice a mini-event at a sort of tent. Ignore that. Immediately after, you'll see an Event. For the purposes of this Walkthrough, take this one. Select the first option. (Selecting the second will give us an item for us to take, but Quest #87 won't unlock if we do that. We'll be coming back for that item later. Continue along the path, taking the upper road again, until you reach the next room. In this third and final area, again take the upper road at each fork. Follow the path until you see the first of three events. The first two will be Mini-events, but the final will be a Battle Event. Choose that, watch the CG, and then fight them. =============== Boss =============== Roupaa Yankee Leader Yankee Ruronta Yankee - I hope you came with enough moves. I wandered a bit and started this fight with a Suzume with no more moves. You'll want to unleash Rance Attack for this fight, and hopefully Mahoko has some of her Fire Explosion left to use. Sachiko should keep guarding, and when her guard is high enough (>200%), switch to attacking. Suzume should use Shurikens on the Roupaa early on and the Yankee Leader when he's on the front row. Prima should use her Treatments and Seirogan Box to keep as many people as possible healthy, Mahoko should use all her spells, Weakness Search included (at the end, though). Megadeth should just normally attack. Same thing goes with Cessna and Alexander. If you have Sel, go ahead and use any of her healing. She's essentially another Prima. However, as long as you have at least one Fire Explosion and the Rance Attack ready to go, you can escape this battle without anyone dying. =============== Finishing this battle ends the quest. If you selected the first option in that Event, you'll unlock Quest #87. If you selected the second option or ignored the Event entirely, you'll get an Ahoge. It's a B-rank Stat Enhancer. Next, we'll be tackling Quest #26 before continuing to the second part of the walkthrough. ---------------------------------------------------- |Quest #26 - Find that guy and regain his manuscripts| |Difficulty: 4 | |REQ: Sachiko must be in the initial party | |Rewards: 10 CP | ---------------------------------------------------- This initial map has at least three different maps, so all I can say is that the teleporter is generally towards the upper right of this map. In addition, there'll be a new feature of maps: traps. They're circular sections that look like teeth circling an area going up and down through the floor. Try not to step on them, as they do different things to you (and they're not good). The second map is always the same. As soon as you enter, head up. At the next fork, take the upper path. You'll see a Green Teleporter. These Teleporters are useful if you want to finish the map and keep all the items you obtained, but don't want (or can't) finish the Quest. We'll ignore it this time, and head up-left from there. You'll see a Battle Event. Engage. =============== Fixed Battle #1 =============== --- --- Mushroom Mushroom Mushroom - This battle shouldn't be too hard. The mushrooms fall in two hits easily, so just smack them hard. =============== Continue on, take the Teleporter, and find yourself in a place that seems very familiar. If you don't recognize it, it's the same map from Quest #25! There are no Fixed Battles, however, so continue along the same path you took. When you get to the area where the doors were (and where Quest #25 ended), notice that there are two Events. The Event below the doors ends the quest, whereas the Mini-Event at the Doors gives you the option to kill the man you saw back at Quest #25 (it's the first option). The "x" stands for how many levels or uses it has. For example, Rance starts with Rance Attack, which has 1 use. Upgrading it (at level 15) costs 5 + 1(1) or 6 Skill Points. There's a catch, however. Besides a few Sorcerers and every Civilian, all characters are given a random template. How can you tell the difference? Well, it's really due to two skills: Identify Treasure お宝鑑定 and Capture Mastery 捕獲の知識 Characters under Template 1 have Identify Treasure. It'll be at the beginning of a character's White Skill List. Characters under Template 2 have Capture Mastery. It'll be at the end of a character's White Skill List. Characters under Template 3 won't have either skill. Usually, this doesn't change much, but for some classes, it changes a few things. Sorcerers that have Template 1 will learn the Fire spells, Ice spells, and Thunder spells. Sorcerers that have Template 2 will learn the Ice spells, Thunder spells, and Light spells. Sorcerers that have Template 3 will learn the Fire spells, Light spells, and Dark spells.
