Except for possible typos I believe this information is complete and accurate. This information was compiled from playing the game, a lot. Most of the information is self explainatory, but there are two introductory sections. Any hero that can be played as a goodfellow will show the stats assigned as if he were played by the computer. The columns are: NES Name = the name used in the NES version B = maximum body points (This is a set value that doesn't change) S = Strength (This can change with experience) D = Dexterity (This can change with experience) W = Wisdom (This can change with experience) Type = A designation I came up with that indicates compatibility There are six diferent types based on a heroes integrity, mercy, and courage. The types are based on a heroes traits (beginning with the highest trait and then the secondary trait and finally the lowest trait). For example Little Li Guang (Hua Rong) is highest in integrity, then courage, and mercy, so he is an ICM. He will "get along" best with other ICM type heroes, and he will be less compatible with MCI type heroes because of their opposing traits. There is one "special" hero that has equal secondary traits I have designated as Mxx. I = Integrity (a set value that never changes) M = Mercy (a set value that never changes) C = Courage (a set value that never changes) Year = the year the hero appears in the game (the last two digits only) Rank = The sum of integrity, mercy, and courage Also the order they will appear in a list of heroes PC Name = the name used in the PC version Inside the columns: * = indicates that a hero has the ability to steer a ship easily This is a set value and never changes and is in the Dexterity column + = indicates that a hero has the ablility to make weapons (requires metal) This requires wisdom and dexterity and appears in the Wisdom column. In the year column you will find: f = indicates that a hero is only available in the first scenario d = indicates that a hero is only available in the first 2 scenarios t = indicates that a hero is only available in the first 3 scenarios q = indicates that a hero will always be with Evil Gao Qiu and to obtain the hero you or someone will need to capture him (or trap him) NES Name B | S | D | W Type is an indication of compatibility and is based on a hero's integrity, mercy, and courage. Two heroes that have the same primary trait will "get along" much better than two that have different traits. The order of the list is by the primary trait from high to low, and if equal then the secondary trait. DISCLAIMER: Type is a designation that I came up with that indicates compatibility. There are other factors that affect compatibility such as rank and the popularity of the goodfellow. The main reason to be concerned with compatibility is because of the change in loyalty when rewarding a hero and at the Jan drop in loyalty. The difference in the primary trait is the main factor for compatibility. If two or more heroes are left in a prefecture there will be compatibility issues. If the heroes are of the same "type" and similar rank then those issues are minimized. Even with heroes that are of opposing types such as ICM and MCI the Jan drop shouldn't be more than 20 points for the hero that is not the leader of the prefecture. Compatibility is especially a concern when a hero is a new recruit. In other words, I hope that this information will be useful to other Bandit Kings players, even though this information is not required for a player to enjoy the game. The columns are: NES Name = The name used in the NES version. Year = The year a hero is first found in the game. I = Integrity M = Mercy C = Courage S1 = The first scenario that begins in 1101. S2 = The second scenario that begins in 1103. S3 = The third scenario that begins in 1104. S4 = The fourth scenario that begins in 1105. Rank = The sum of integrity, mercy, and courage Also the order they will appear in a list of heroes. PC Name = The name used in the PC version. Inside the columns: In the S1, S2, S3, and S4 columns the numbers after a letter or letters is the prefecture that the hero is in at the beginning of that scenario. Evil Gao Qiu's heroes have a tendency to move a lot in the early part of a scenario, so don't be surprised to find them somewhere else. This is especially true in the prefectures near his home prefecture of 23. H = hero (generic term for all employed "bandits") P = people (generic term for all unemployed "bandits") E = exile (usually a goodfellow that hasn't settled in a prefecture, but can include heroes that are "employed" by a goodfellow that is in exile.) GF = goodfellow (a leader that is trying to oppose Evil Gao Qiu) -- = not part of that scenario (everyone is in the first scenario) This list uses the same columns as the previous list with the exception of the
year column is now the Type column.  This list is simply a list of which heroes
join in each year.  If you have taken one of Qiu's prefectures before a hero
joins the game, the hero will most likely join in the prefecture that Qiu is 
in (usually 23).  When starting a later scenario the heroes will already be
where they are supposed to be as indicated in the previous lists.  For example
when playing the 4th scenario any heroes that were new in 1102, 1103, 1104, and
1105 will already be part of the game.

For example in the second scenario (begins in 1103), playing as Nine Dragons,
my first action is usually to take prefecture 24.  In that case any hero that
normally joins Qiu in prefecture 24 after 1103 will probably join him in his
home prefecture instead.
