Getting started 2. Chapter I: A New Age 3. Chapter II: Making a Hero 4. Chapter III: The Great Divide 5. Chapter IV: A History Repeated 6. Chapter V: Visions of the Past 7. Chapter VI: The Omega Knight -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Getting started This should be obvious, but I highly recommend not doing this on your first playthrough. Many people consider this to be one of the hardest JRPGs around but if you are familiar with the systems the developers put in place you can beat the game with any of the characters Solo. I chose Pots simply because you start with him, not because he is the most powerful. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Chapter I: A New Age When doing Rosenburg’s house be sure to not be seen by the guards so that Atrius gives you the “Swordbreaker” when you get to Orgard. This will come in handy on the Minotaur ship. Be sure to pick up your reward money on the table after waking up in the thief’s guild. After getting to the Mountain Pass this is one of the only places you will really need to grind until late game. Grind on the random trash in here until Pots hits level 3, this will allow you to get to level 4 on the Slave ship. Once you enter Andragus go to the item shop and use all your money on buy “Iron Ore”. Completely loot Vathen Manor, you will want to find all the permanent stat boosting items you can while doing this playthrough. After getting captured by the Minotaur Pirates you will see that you still have the “Swordbreaker” and the “Iron Ore” (I guess Minotaurs don’t like to craft). Equip the “Swordbreaker” and do the little puzzle to start the escape. Once you kill the first pirate, equip the club onto Pots’ second hand and get Virgil in the team, then talk to Kaelas to get him and finally Bruger. During the two pirates fight you will have a full party. Use Pots and all companions to attack themselves and kill off the whole party except for Pots. After all teammates are dead have Pots kill the pirates and then kill every pirate on the ship in preparation for the Captain fight. If you kill every pirate you should be level 4 once you enter the Captain fight. There isn’t too much of a strategy, just kill the small guys and then focus on the captain. Use potions you found around the ship to keep your health up. Once on Farlen quickly gather Bruger, and Virgil in Ulwi. Leave town and get Kaelas by the bridge and then run back to Ulwi and enter the save book to change party kicking everyone out except Pots. Be sure to equip the sword the captain dropped and then go to the store to smelt the “iron ore” into ingots. Once you do that sell them to the store owner to get a decent amount of starting gold. Buy all the gear you need to be decked out (shouldn’t be much) and then go to the tavern to buy Buff Food I recommend keeping about 10 of each for the remainder of the game (don’t need magic buff). Once you have all that you are ready to set out. Now that you are all setup. From here on I will mostly only go over the boss encounters, unless there is need for a specific item/s. Farlen Cave – Amon’Quel Recommended Level: 6 Eat buff food before battle, normal attack rats to kill and gain AP. Unload AP with Sneak Attacks onto Amon’Quel and he should die fast, Steal Health if needed. North Tower – Amon’Quel Recommended Level: 7 Eat buff food before battle, Sneak Attacks and Steal Health if needed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Chapter II: Making a Hero Notes before getting started: Things will be a little tough before you get past the Bridge of Khargynoth take it slow and loot methodically. Moving forward be sure to NEVER use any "Soulstones” you find. They are all going to be used in this guide at very specific spots in the story. Orgard – Shaelor Recommended Level: 8 Eat buff food before battle, Sneak Attacks and Steal Health if needed. Shrine of Tantalasia – Raziel Recommended Level: 11 This is the first real fight. Luckily before the fight there is a pool of water that recovers you. Grind in here until 11 or 12 and when you are ready put Wein into your party, get into a fight and kill him so that he doesn’t auto join the Raziel boss fight. Eat buff food before battle, use Poison Needle on Raziel to DoT him. After that just normal attack the Forlorn members to gain AP and unload AP with Sneak Attacks and Steal Health on Raziel. Re-apply poison DoT when needed. Bridge of Khargynoth – Grog Recommended Level: 11 This battle is cake. Grog can be poisoned if you want but not needed. Eat buff food before battle, kill the troll trash and then Sneak Attacks and Steal Health if needed on Grog. ********************************** Preparation for next Raziel Fight ********************************** The next fight vs Raziel in Greyhem is considered by many to be too difficult. But it is all about preparation, you can see that in a YouTube video were someone fought him with a level 12 party. In his video he is wearing garbage equipement, we are going to gear up way better. First things first, head to Miner’s End. This town sells top quality gear but don’t buy anything just yet. First loot all the houses and then go to the Estate/Manor area and loot all those houses. Do the little bookshelf puzzle on the second floor of Belkas house to get a powerful sword for Pots. Don't fight Hanzo because he will wreck you, come back to him later. Once you have looted all the houses then go to the weapon and armor shop to buy any remaining gear that needs filling. After Miner’s End go to Shaketown, loot everything (not much there) then go to Sovereign and loot everything there. If you have the 10k gold needed I recommend spending it to learn “Mug” from Swahn in the house at the top right. This will make getting materials easier and keep the damage output going while fighting. Once you finish there go to the destroyed village to the south of Sovereign and get the Celestium shard. Then head back to Greyhem and loot everything (tons of stuff) but don’t progress the storyline that enters you into the sewers. Instead leave Greyhem and go to Dupre, loot that town then go to Astral and loot them as well. You should have a bunch of stuff now. Including Celestium Shards, you can hand them in, but you shouldn’t have 30 yet which is a ring you will really want to get when you can. Instead grind a little bit in the snowy area north of all these towns. The encounters give better XP than in the grasslands. Once you are level 14/15 go back to Greyhem. You should be ready. Greyhem Castle Storage – Raziel Fight II Recommended Level: 14 Eat Buff food as always, it’s time to laugh at this fight. If you are level 15 you don’t need to eat Critical Hit or Accuracy food because you can use Keen Eye this will let your steal skills (armor, speed, strength) land waaaaaay more often and it grants you some AP. If you are level 14 use Steal Armor until it lands… With Hit Rate food it should land frequently but bad luck can happen. Once you have him debuffed, just Sneak Attack him down. If you have close to 0 AP after debuffing him I recommend using a Sorbithian Snuff item to give you a big boost to AP. You should have found at least one when looting all the towns. You will hit super hard on him and he will go down fast. As a side note if you get unlucky with Steal Armor and miss like 3 times in a row, I’d say restart the fight. Buff food lasts for 7 rounds and you want to make those first 7 count. Swordhand Manor Basement – Belkas Fight I Recommended Level: 15 You can do this fight at level 15 but there are some crafting parts you should get around now that will help greatly. Around Miner’s End and Sovereign, you can get random encounters with Brawlg Barbarians and Brawlg Captains. Barbarians have a chance to drop Gradium Ore, but Captains have a higher chance to drop and you can steal ore from them also. While grinding for these you will also need saber hides and medium leather which drops from mobs around here too. I would grind around here until you get enough to craft “Ogre Gloves”. Those will give you a lot more attack power. Belkas fight Kill Order: Belkas then Arne then Jemman. (Eat Buff Food!) Dupre – Kraken Recommended Level: 17 Be sure to craft at least a Minor Water Bracelet to make this fight much easier. If you can craft an upgraded one even better. Just be sure to eat buff food then Steal Armor, Sneak Attack, and Steal Health if needed. Stone Labyrinth – Khar the Man-Eater Recommended Level: 17 This fight is super easy and should be no problem. Eat food and destroy. After this fight you probably should check your save file to see if you have collected 30 Celestium Shards. If so, you need to go back to the Relic Collector and get the Celestium Ring. This will be your go-to Jewelry piece as you go forward, only swapping it out for the "Charm Bracelet" when needed. Eldrethen Catacombs – Angel of Decay Recommended Level: 17 Make sure to get the Rusty Sword from the basement in the noble quarters. The Key to the basement can be found on the Skeleton outside the house. This weapon will carve through the undead like butter. The Angel of Decay should be nothing with or without this weapon. Eat buff food and go to town. Tower of Horror – Ledonel Recommended Level: 17 Ignore the Necronaut fight for now, you can come back later and stomp it. Before finishing up in Eldrethen be sure to buy a bunch of Repellents and Smoke Powders. You will need these if you are doing this Solo run legit and don’t want to fight anything not mandatory for the 3-part story chapter. Eat buff food and laugh at Ledonel as you send him to his final rest. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Chapter III: The Great Divide Notes before getting started: This part has mandatory fights with characters that are not Pots and since you haven’t been using them, they are at low levels. Bruger is really the only one you will have to do non-mandatory fights to level up slightly to continue. I think I did the bare minimum needed but if someone else figures out a way to do this without doing any non-mandatory fights I’d love to know. My recommended order is Bruger part first, then Wein, and then Pots. All equipment that was equipped by party members is removed at this point so be mindful of this. The game auto optimizes your equipment when you start the different quest branches. Bruger Begin If you have been doing this legit, then Bruger and Kaelas are level 1 and Elric is level 12. Elric starts at level 6 but when you get him again back in Greyhem he is boosted 6 levels. So right when start as Kaelas there are no random encounters on this map so explore it and grab the loot around. There is a relic weapon on the Skeleton to the Northwest, this will come in handy to boost Kaelas’ magic power. Once you get onto the world map use a repellent to negate random encounters. Get into the forest area and keep repellent up as needed. Get Bruger and Elric to join up loot everything in the forest before continuing to Oslen. Obviously, you will lose the battle with the Stonewalls but no worries. Once you wake up, progress the story until you get your team back. Go to the store and deck out Bruger and Elric as much as you can. Then feed Bruger two “Soulstones” to get him to Level 3. Sign up for the minotaur tournament and enter the basement, this will kick Kaelas and Elric out of the party. Go back upstairs and back out of the tournament. After that go to Mugata the Minotaur trainer to the Northeast, there is a bucket there that can heal you to full and you can train on monsters by talking to him. Be sure to eat buff food and “Healing Vapors” before each fight because these will be tough at level 3 but you will level super-fast. Grind on these until you are level 6, and I think that is the bare minimum level needed to progress through the Arena without any more non-mandatory fights. Bruger Arena Recommended Level: 6 - 15 These fights will start close but get easier and easier as you gain awesome XP from each battle. I’m not going to go through all the fights because all you really need to do is make sure to eat buff food before each fight -> Rage -> Cleave/Brain Bash -> Profit. By the end Bruger should be around level 15 just from killing arena battlers. Netherfiend Eat buff food before cutscene and just rely on Bruger to take this thing down. Same as you use him in the Arena, not tough. Osiris Sewers - Reveros Recommended Level: 1, 12, 19 Make sure to get the “Champion Axe” from the wall inside Agramed’s Quarters on the North wall, it's Brugers Relic weapons. Be sure to use repellents in sewers to negate encounters and loot chests. Eat food and start battle. Kaelas will be level 1, Elric level 12 and Agramed level 19. Obviously Elric and Agramed will be carrying this fight. Reveros is weak to Fire and Lightning so use Elrics elemental arrows to dish extra damage and have Agramed attack as often as you can. The fight isn’t too hard. Osiris Castle – Larienael This fight can be very hard and is probably the most difficult you will have to deal with during the 3-part story chapter. Elric and Kaelas are low level and will get hurt very bad. Eat buff food and make sure Elric has gear equipped that will raise his “Will” stat so he can survive “Pulsar”. Larienael can summon Netherkin, if you are lucky, she will fail each time. If they do get summoned, they are weak to Fire so use Elrics arrows to kill them. Larienael is weak to Lightning so if you have a chance to attack you can but I highly recommend using every turn to help stay alive. Her moves will one shot Kaelas don’t even bother resurrecting him. Focus on keeping Elric alive, use quicken if you have full health to keep yourself hasted and just stay alive until Bruger and Agramed join the fight. Once they arrive you shouldn’t have much to worry about. Either survive for 10 turns and she will retreat or KO her and make her run. Congrats, you’ve done it! Wein Begin Wein is arguably one of the best characters in The Great Gaias, so this won’t be very hard. He moves slow but can take hits very well, even magic. Wein should be level 11 since you haven’t used him. Use repellents and loot the stuff in the forest. Be sure to get the “Rusty Lance” from the Skeleton! Just keep repellents up as you go inside the Thule cave, keep collecting treasures and then fight the first Thule by the altar. It shouldn’t be a hard fight. Get Quathorn and do the next mandatory Thule fight, they are weak to Fire so use Berenus summon. Thule Compound - Observer Make sure to craft a “Ring of the Speaker” for Furi. Use her to nuke the Observer every turn and use Wein and Quathorn to supply her with MP items. Use them to support her and get attacks in if they can. Oh yeah, did I mention eat buff food? Central Link Unimatrix – Thule Overlord Make sure to get the “Tattered Glove” from the spike trap room for Quathorn. Eat buff food and kill Furi then Quathorn. Now focus on Quathorn doing “Flurry of Blows” on the overlord. Feed him AP items like “Sorbithian Snuff” to keep him at it and victory should be yours. Pots Begin This whole chapter will be nothing for you since Pots should be decked out and pumped up on the various permanent stat boosting items you’ve been feeding him. Holy will make short work of the bird and when you fight the behemoth just kill Laeni with Pots and wreck it. Steal the “Tarnished Sword” from Valdraek when he fights you the second time in fire form. With this weapon you now start every battle with full ATB. Just be sure to kill off Laeni and Valdraek when underwater. Then destroy Leviathan. I would just use Repellents for this whole part until final boss. Sunken Palace – Emperor Rathanos Recommended Level: 17-20 Eat buff food! Emperor Rathanos resists all physical attacks. Luckily Pots has Steal Health, vampire the crap out of him with it and destroy one of the oldest entities on the planet. Wein Once Again You’ve already cleared out Sovereign so just progress the story. During the Atrius fight I recommend just attacking yourself to end it faster. AoE down the Forlorn and keep going through story. Use Repellents as you go through Porthul forest with each team until you get to the final battle of Chapter 3. Porthul Junction – Belkas Fight II Recommended Level: 25 Keep a save file in the forest where Pots starts so that you can grind here if needed. Before the fight you will be sent into The Great Gaias. Obviously just choose Pots for your party then talk to the Scholar to the left of the book and select “Remove Party Equipment” this will make sure you have everything available to you. Equip Pots in your best stuff and eat buff food before touching the book and proceeding to the fight. Belkas has a very low hit rate but what he does hit he kills and Arne does a powerful set of buff rotations. So, the kill order for this fight should be Belkas -> Arne -> Validus Privates -> Jemman. This is a good time to mention that you can change your equipment during battle, and it doesn’t use your turn. So, if the Privates blind you just equip a “Ring of Sight” then unequip it and the stat will be removed. I’m assuming this is a glitch but use what you can. This equip during battle also comes in handy for stealing. You can equip “Master Thief’s Gloves” steal something then unequip. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5. Chapter IV: A History Repeated Notes before getting started Once you get inside Porthul be sure to upgrade the “Rusty Sword” and the “Tarnished Sword” you should have the parts needed and if not, go get them. After that, upgrade the rest of your gear if needed. Picking up a “Lightning Bracelet” here would be good too. Hezerac’s House – Raijin Recommended Level: 25 Raijin has one instant death move and everything else is lightning so either equip the lightning bracelet or an aura ring. I’d risk the instant death move just be sure to save before the fight. Eat buff food and do your thing. It’s a straight forward fight. Keep of Morlincantha – Dreyfus Recommended Level: 26 If you need to grind, the spider eggs in the west room give decent XP. Eat buff food and go to town on Dreyfus’ human form. Once he turns into a dragon you need to just stay alive. "Steal Health" spam and a "Serum" here and there should do it. Spire of the Whispering Wind – Azrael Recommended Level: 27 - 30 This fight is hard, Azrael hits like a truck and has a instant death move in Maelstrom. If you are below level 30 it is very RNG based. I won the fight at level 27 but had to retry 5 times. Steal Armor, then rotate between Sneak Attack and Steal Health as usual. If you are level 30 then "Steal Speed", that will give you a huge advantage over him and can make short work of him. Swamp Cave – Israfel Recommended Party: Atrius, Agramed, Caelia, and Valdraek With Pots gone, progress the story using Repellents to negate encounters, when you are in Tarna make sure to get the “Thief Cap” and buy Damascus gear for your party. Make a bee line for Israfel, eat buff food and debuff Israfel with Atrius, buff party with Agramed and keep regen and health up with Caelia. Fey’s Grove – Ragewalker Recommended Party: Atrius, Agramed, Caelia, and Valdraek Use the same strategy as above. Peak of Ghar Amal – Shadow Pots Recommended Level: 17? This fight is cake. Just be sure to steal “Withered Leather” from him before you destroy him. After this fight Pots will have learned “Shadow Step” which will come in handy. Valpheggi Swampland – Lizard Chief Recommended Level: 27 Avoid all battles using Repellent until you get Pots back in the Shadow Hallow. Backtrack. It’s time to do some side quests. Since you are already heading back to the boat be sure to stop off at the Lizardmen’s camp to wipe them out. Focus on the Chief first but whenever you need to use Steal Health to heal, use it on a trash mob. This will kill them off as you kill the Chief. You want to make sure you kill the Chief before all the trash, or he will get super buffed and could cause a problem. Greybridge – Dragon Hunters Recommended Level: 28 At this point you should have enough Celestium Shards to get the “Scholars Ring” from the Relic Collector. This will give you double XP to make grinding much easier. On your way to the Relic Collector be sure to stop by where Eldrethen used to be North of Greyhem to unlock the New City side quest. Make your way to Greybridge and battle the Dragon Hunters. This shouldn’t be too tough just eat buff food and the kill order should be Cole -> Brutus -> Kaleb -> Jake. Tower of Horror – Necronaut Recommended Level: 30 While you are building the New City focus on building it into the Noble City. While doing this you can go in and take care of the Necronaut. Eat buff food and make short work of it with the “Silver Sword”. Alme Cave – Elder Kraken Recommended Level: 30 Around this time, you should have either crafted or got the “Charm Bracelet” from the Relic Collector. Be sure to equip this before the fight to negate all its status effects. With that eat buff food and kill. You should have created the Noble City by now, do the little side quest for the Nobles and get the Rosenburg reward for the bounty of permanent stat potions. Dump them all on Pots to make him even more badass. Now you should kick everyone out of the New City and start building towards the Merchant Town. Don't focus too hard on it right now, you won't really need it until after you get the Airship. Poxx Tower – CLE-31 Recommended Level: 30 Eat buff food and kill. Simple. Before heading back to Arad Munlo, you can either grind levels North of Sorbithia (There are two tiles which spawn level 40+ enemies) or you can hunt for “Thick Leather” by sailing to the Southern Sea. With that you can upgrade your relic helm and relic chest. Shadow Hollow – Marilith Recommended Level: 30 Eat buff food and equip “Charm Bracelet” to negate her on turn stun move. Do your normal move rotations and breeze on past. Arad Munlo – Zacharael Recommended Level: 32 Eat buff food and just focus down Zacharael. Equip Scholars ring and kill the remaining Shaelors to get a nice boost to XP. Arad Munlo – Baalmon Recommended Level: 38 You can always come back to this place if you need to get stronger for this fight, or you can simply skip this fight since it isn't required. Eat buff food and dish out some damage until he tries to summon his brother. If he fails just kill him, if his brother does come you need to equip the “Charm Bracelet” then “Steal Speed” on both and then focus down one at a time. Ilbed – Omniel Recommended Level: 38 - 40 You can’t eat buff food for this fight so if you are level 40 then open with “Uncanny Dodge”, if you are not level 40 than open with “Keen Eye”. Once you have those buffs up use “Steal Speed” then “Steal Armor” and burn him down. Beware if he turns into Valdraek, if that happens put up “Shadow Step” to help avoid some of those big damage numbers. Entrance to Dibbledorf – Golem Twins Recommended Level: 38 - 40 Eat buff food of course. You can either take your time and burn them down at the same time or you can go big and focus one down. If you focus one down the remaining will start spamming Gigabeam. Use that damage to fuel your AP and spam “Lacerate” to burn it down. Dragon Path – Belkas Fight III Recommended Level: 40 Guess what? Eat buff food. All these guys can resurrect each other except Kahr but luckily you won’t have to worry about that because Pots is a super-fast god by this point. Kill order should be Arne -> Jemman -> Belkas -> Kahr. Arne does a buff rotation, so it is important to get him out of the way first. Jemman is annoying with his strength debuff and blind so he next. Belkas third because you don’t want him resurrecting the other two and Kahr is last cause he can’t resurrect, and he takes insane physical damage. I think he is weak to all weapon types. Malgoraxia’s Lair – Malgoraxia Recommended Level: 40 Eat buff food, equip “Charm Bracelet” and destroy the dragon. The Flyer – Hadriel Recommended Level: 40 Eat buff food and use AP items to cheese him with “Lacerate” spam. The hard part here is the battles that force you to use Elric, Quathorn, Furi and Caelia. I highly recommend using the traps you have gotten throughout the game by disabling traps. These can do good damage and DoT, some are also AoEs. Sovereign Passage – Sammael Recommended Level: 43 RNG will play a big part in this fight because Sammael can use “Execute” which can one shot you and nothing protects against it except evading. You can’t focus down Sammael because all the gems will explode when he dies doing very high damage. If you kill all the gems Sammael will get a huge buff and hurt you bad. So, first things first, say it with me now. “Eat buff food”, equip an Amethyst Necklace to give you a ton of HP and start the fight. Use “Sorbithia Snuff” and “Lacerate” down two of the gems (whichever you prefer) I like to kill blue and yellow. Now with only one gem left burn down Sammael but keep your health high and try to keep up "Shadow Step" dodge buff so you can keep "Execute" from hitting you. Once Sammael dies the last gem will explode but because you have the extra HP from the necklace you should be able to survive it. Hybolean Plains – Molydei Recommended Level: 43 Lol, trash. Lexicron – Veriel Recommended Level: 43 Grinding on Sorbithian Guards with the “Scholar Ring” equipped gives awesome XP if you need. Eat buff food, equip “Charm Bracelet” and cut her to ribbons. The Watcher can’t be touched so just ignore him and slaughter her. Greyhem – Belkas Fight IV Recommended Level: 43 Eat some buff food and start the fight. If you haven’t been listening to the Kill Order I did for the other Belkas fights, this time you really should. Like Sammael, Jemman has “Execute” the move that can one shot you. BUT he will only do it if you hit Arne. Arne can recover all allies to full health only if you hit Kahr. So, the Kill Order should be: Jemman -> Arne -> Kahr -> Belkas. Greyhem – Adramelech Recommended Level: 43 Right when this fight starts, equip the “Charm Bracelet”. You won’t be able to eat buff food before this fight so be sure to self-buff with “Uncanny Dodge” and “Keen Eye” in that order. It’s always better to get the Reflex buff up first to insure the Crit/Hit buff isn’t wasted on a buff turn. The “Charm Bracelet” will negate his nasty “Pandorium” at least the status effects part. The spell will still debuff some stats, but you can fix that with some steal abilities. The one thing you really need to be careful of is his “Command Kill” move. If you are at half health or less, it will outright kill you. So be sure to keep your HP up. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6. Chapter V: Visions of the Past Notes before getting started So, at this point you can pretty much go where ever you like and you don’t really need to follow this guide in order from here on but I will point out why I go to where I am going and you can decide for yourself. If you can upgrade your relic weapons right now, that would be perfect. If not, mark down what ingredients you need and get them. Amanor Recommended Level: 45 I do the whole Amanor side quest first because there is a ton of loot in this town, plus the bosses are easy without having to upgrade your gear yet. First you should find Piotr’s house in the Western Sector, give his wife 1,000 gold and she will give you the key to the basement. Loot the crap out of all that goodness and then head over to the Complex to further the questline. Now you can give the guy under the tree some money for another “Scholar Ring” but you already have one so screw him. Amanor – Boss Ren Recommended Level: 45 Don’t even bother wasting buff food before this fight. He is laughable trash that I probably shouldn’t even have bothered writing in here. BUT! After killing this guy, you can now go back into the Complex and loot a ton of good items that all those guards were blocking. Be sure to do this because we love permanent stat potions! Amanor Prison Camp – Vathen Recommended Level: 45 At this point Vathen and Vathen Abaddon should be nothing to you, with or without buff food. Just debuff and burn. Xellos Recommended Level: 45 Just loot the place and obliterate this side quest. I’m not even going to go into the boss fights here because none of them should be able to even tickle you at this point. Getting Xellos out of the way is just important for unlocking the World Tournament Arena in Osiris. Kaizul Jungle Recommended Level: 45 Equip that “Scholar Ring” and start slaughtering the natives. These guys and gals give great XP and you can also farm battle stat potions here by mugging/stealing from them. I would farm here and wipe out their village, until you get to around level 50-55. It shouldn’t take long. Enra’Jahren – Azcol the Destroyer Recommended Level: 50-55 Eat buff food. Now just because you have been breezing through everything with no issue after getting the airship, don’t get cocky. Azcol can really pack a punch but if you did some grinding on his tribe you should be able to tackle this fight. Kill the trash first and then debuff Azcol down and do your normal thing. Zaardun Recommended Level: 50-55 Just head here to finish up the Azcol questline and grab the Celestium Shards scattered around. Your next Celestium Shard goal is the “Celestium Sword”, so you really want to be finding these. Isurin can put out some good damage numbers but you should be so fast he won’t get off too many hits. He is the only “boss” around here and isn’t hard. Arena Grind I Recommended Level: 55-60 The real tough bosses are coming up so you will want to grind up and gather materials. Your goal while getting to level 60 is to upgrade your relic weapons to their best forms “Dawnbringer” and “Quicksword”. If you have the materials than you should totally do your armor relics also, but you might be having a hard time finding “Superior Leather”. That can be found on Arena monsters so be sure to get them when you can. Specifically, “Tarrasque”, “Hydra”, “Titan”, and “Dark Chimera”. You can also sail out on your ship to the far ocean tiles to randomly find “Giant Squid” but that will take forever so if you can handle the Arena stick to that. Once you are level 60+ and have your relics upgraded (weapons most important) you can head out to fight the big boys. Dark Farlen – Smoke Monster & Cael Vaeili Recommended Level: 60 You will fight all four aspects the same. Step one: Eat buff food Step two: Equip “Charm Bracelet” Step three: Debuff target Step four: Unleash hell This is probably the easiest of the higher-level side quests which is why I get it out of the way first. Mt. Ortis Summit – Omnimental Recommended Level: 60 This thing isn’t tough follow the rules of Dark Farlen Step one: Eat buff food Step two: Equip “Charm Bracelet” Step three: Debuff target Step four: Unleash hell Atzantiel’s Sanctum – Pale Knight Recommended Level: 60 This fight is why you want “Dawnbringer”. Pale Knight takes high damage from Holy so it will wreck her bad. Obviously, you want to eat buff food, but you will also want to equip the “Helm of Blocking” this will block her opening insanity attack. Once you get past that you should unequip the helm and risk the RNG to burn her down quickly. If you get unlucky and she gets off an insanity on you just reload and try again. Frosthammer – Drow Queen Recommended Level: 25 So, this is a mandatory fight for Bruger only. Loot the city and get as much good gear for Bruger as you can. I hope you have been saving all your “Soulstones” because this is where you will want to use them. Boost Brugers level to at least 25, that was the minimum level I was able to win the fight. If you have the material, you should upgrade his relic axe to make him hit harder then just give him your upgraded relic leathers you have been using on Pots. Eat buff food, use “Greater Rage” and spam “Greater Cleave”. She doesn’t have a lot of HP so take some risks and go for the kill. Halladen Manor – Halladen Recommended Level: 60+ Now we are getting to the real tough fights. His little demon pets shouldn’t be an issue when fighting them just eat food and equip the “Charm Bracelet” they don’t do anything you haven’t seen before so I’m not going to give them their own section. Halladen you won’t be able to eat buff food but that’s ok because it would run out during this fight anyway. The key to killing him is watching how much damage each mirror image does, the real Halladen does slightly more damage than his clones. Once you see which one is real, use Sneak Attack on him for big numbers. "Lacerate" and "Shadow Step" won’t work well because only the first attack will connect. Be patient, this fight will take a long time. Focus on staying alive and paying attention to which one to attack. Apothecary – The Watcher Recommended Level: 70+ This guy hurts. A lot. Be sure to eat buff food and equip the “Charm Bracelet” he is going to open with “Time Stop” and if you can withstand the onslaught of attacks, good, you might be able to win. Now he only has one instant kill move so you can risk removing the “Charm Bracelet” for some extra damage and prey to RNGesus for him not to cast it, or you can play it safe and keep the bracelet on. But be aware that if you take too long in killing him, he will cast “Time Stop” again and you will have to live through it again. Thieves’ Guild – Swahn Recommended Level: 75+ Now this is one of those fights that if you have already played through the game normally you would think isn’t very hard. But with Solo Pots this fight can be brutally difficult. Swahn can mug the stats off you and he hits hard so you will want to focus him down first and fast! Luckily the two trash mobs will be busy buffing themselves so you can ignore them until after dealing with Swahn. Once Swahn and the trash are dead you can kill the Whisperer at your leisure. Oh yeah, one more thing… Eat buff food! Visions of the Past Doing the desert area should be no issue and just follow along with the story and do the visions story as normal. You don’t get to play as Vandar so no chance to continue across the era solo thing. Just get this over with and continue forward. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7. Chapter VI: The Omega Knight Notes before getting started Congrats you’ve made it to the final chapter. I hope you are going for the perfect ending because that’s the route this guide is going. Good Luck! Battle of the Blighted Lands This part may have been the first thing to come to mind when thinking how a solo playthrough would work. Yes, this part is tough but if you follow my advice you will get through it. Your party will be split up into three groups. Pots will be in group 3 and since you can’t just choose him by himself be sure to choose your lowest level party members to kill them off right when you can. Group 1: Belkas, Furi, Agramed, Griswold Group 2: Atrius, Caelia, Quathorn, Hiro Group 3: Pots, Low level, low level, low level Use repellents for group 1 and group 2 so you don’t get into any non-mandatory fights. For group 1 take the bottom path and kill the trash. It shouldn’t be too hard, Belkas and Griswold are level 40 and if you have been picking up their legendary gear while doing the side quests, they can hold their own. Plus, Furi Space Magic is always powerful no matter her level. Group 2 make sure to do the little mini game perfectly, so you don’t have to do any encounters at this point. The answers are: Heavy Infantry > Infantry Archers > Shaelors Elves > Forlorn Infantry > Archers When you are using Group 3 just get into a battle and kill your low-level party members to keep the solo Pots going. Get to the dragon and fly to the Machine. Battle of the Blighted Lands - Jubix Eat buff food. This will be the hardest fight in the blighted lands so if you can win this you are pretty much set. The key is having “Rebirth” up for when Jubix explodes, so make sure Griswold has that up on someone or everyone. Keep Furi buffed with Grace if food runs out and have her spam Space Magic. You can use some of your trap items in your inventory to help with the damage but be sure to save a good amount of those for the next boss fight. Battle of the Blighted Lands – Corporal Vex Eat buff food. Vex can do a lot of damage but I still think this fight is easier than Jubix. Just AoE everything keeps DoTs up with Caelia and spam all your Trap Items you’ve collected, you won’t be needing them after this anyway so use your strongest and that should do it. Battle of the Blighted Lands – Zacharael’s Machine Pots should be pretty much a god at this point so just kill this thing quickly and call it a day. Kill Order: Shield Generator -> Power Cable -> Gun -> Gun-> Armored Hull -> Zacharael’s Machine. You can equip the Mica Band if you want to reduce some of the Beam damage but really you shouldn’t need it. Archipelago – Kronos Recommended Level: 85+ Now that you have unlocked the Archipelago it’s time to grind out your legendary gear materials. While grinding be sure to stock up on Soravendomas Branches, while you won’t need them for gear you can use them to craft Potions of Heroes which will come in handy for the final battle. When fighting “Medusa” just equip “Charm Bracelet” and eat buff food then kill. For the “Fully Advanced Necronaut” have “Dawnbringer” equipped and destroy it. The Necronaut will drop the “Robe of Vogul” which will be your chest piece from now on. Don’t even bother upgrading your legendary chest since you will be using this. If you’ve geared up than Kronos shouldn’t be a tough fight, just eat buff food and lacerate spam him down. Archipelago – Khargynoth Recommended Level: 85+ Eat buff food! Khargynoth can hit very hard but luckily, he tells you what element he will be casting so if you craft all the top tier elemental bracelets and swap them out during the fight you only must worry about “Take Lifeforce” and “Singularity”. If you keep your health at max Singularity is negated. So just use “Steal Armor” and “Lacerate” him down. Arena Grind II Recommended Level: 90+ You will want to craft all your Soravendomas branches into Potions of Heroes using your alchemy and get 20+ “Potion of Restoration”. You will then want to craft around 50 “Rings of Rebirth”. You can buy all the materials needed for the rings from shops so it’s not too big a deal. Once you have crafted all your green gear into purple gear or during it you should grind out in the Arena until level 99. This way you will accumulate GP to buy permanent stat potions. You will want at least 550 Dexterity, and as much Strength as you are willing to grind to. Just for a reference, my character before heading into Validus (with all equipment on) stats were: Strength: 385 Fortitude: 248 Magic: 118 Will: 232 Dexterity: 563 Luck: 298 Crit: 48.80% Accuracy: 124.80% Reflex: 41.15% *If you are having problems with the golem twins in the Tier 3 arena be sure to use “Stimpak” and “Time Stop” to shut them down. The Emperor’s Palace – Eldromus Recommended Level: 99+ If you’ve waited up until this point to fight Eldromus than he will be a cakewalk. Just buff yourself, debuff him keep the “Charm Bracelet” equipped and burn him down. Tower of Illyrium – Grindelwald Recommended Level: 99+ I’m not going to go through the boss Gauf gauntlet because they should pose zero problem to you at this point. For Grindelwald be sure to eat your buff food this fight will still be hard. His HP is high enough that just focusing him with Lacerate will only get you to his final form before the buff food runs out. Try and get off a Steal Speed once he hits his final form and play it safe using “Shadow Step” to get the perfect dodge protection. Celestial Realm – Malviticus Recommended Level: 99+ So, you’ve made it to the final fight. Time to kill a god. Guess what? Eat some buff food. Equip a “Ring of Rebirth” and enter the fight. First thing you want to do is “Steal Speed” Malviticus is super-fast and you need to make sure his speed is debuffed this entire fight because if it isn’t he has a good chance of spamming “Event Horizon” on you before you can equip another “Ring of Rebirth”. This fight will take some time so be patient and keep your eye on his debuffs. Every time he kills you make sure to equip another “Ring of Rebirth” after awhile you will get into a rhythm and will notice openings. Use those to pop "Potions of Heroes" to dish out more damage and by swapping equipment or adding a “Steal Armor” into the mix. Malviticus has 150,000 HP so just stick with it and whittle him down while keeping your rings on. Once he’s dead, enjoy the perfect ending!
