The game ends but, it is great because it is free at the start. I decided to make this walkthrough when I downloaded the game and saw how good it was. But you need Palm OS and a PDA for this game. [-----| a. Controls (CTL) |-----] Heart: Click on this and on a item or yourself to see the statistics or name of the item. Hand & Heart: Click on this then on a item on the floor to pick it up. Sword/Bow: swap between these and click on a monster to start attacking. B Button: Throw Grenades (If you have any) Stick: Click on the screen in places to move your char in that direction. [-----| b. Interface (INT) |-----] Using it is pretty easy. Talking: Click on a person and they give you 3 options - A: Services; B: Talk; C: Leave. Services are like he buys your stuff, sells you stuff or gives you a job or something like that. Talk is when he gives you a quest to do, and gives you instructions. Leave is when you stop talking to him and walk away. /-=========================-\ =-| C H A R A C T E R S [CAR] |-=============================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [-----| a. Races (RAC) |-----] There are 3 races in this game each one has its own Positive and Negative Attributes. Human: The Human race is like the middle race not a Elf nor a Dwarf, it has an average of the attributes of the others. Humans move the second fastest out of all the races. They can also do any profession. +--------------+-----+-----+-------+ | Quality | Min | Max | Start | |--------------+-----+-----+-------| | Strength | 3 | 16 | 8 | | Dexterity | 3 | 16 | 8 | | Vitality | 3 | 16 | 8 | | Intelligence | 3 | 16 | 8 | | Wisdom | 3 | 16 | 8 | | Luck | 3 | 18 | 8 | +--------------+-----+-----+-------+ Elf: Elves get a dexterity bonus, but have less strength and vitality to balance that. Elves can move the fastest out of all the races. They can be any profession except a priest. +--------------+-----+-----+-------+ | | Min | Max | Start | |--------------+-----+-----+-------| | Strength | 2 | 15 | 7 | | Dexterity | 5 | 18 | 10 | | Vitality | 2 | 15 | 7 | | Intelligence | 3 | 16 | 8 | | Wisdom | 3 | 16 | 8 | | Luck | 3 | 16 | 8 | +--------------+-----+-----+-------+ Dwarf: Dwarves get strength and vitality bonus, but have less dexterity to balance things out. Basically Dwarves are the opposites of Elves in everyway. They can be any profession except a wizard. +--------------+-----+-----+-------+ | Quality | Min | Max | Start | |--------------+-----+-----+-------| | Strength | 3 | 16 | 8 | | Dexterity | 3 | 16 | 8 | | Vitality | 3 | 16 | 8 | | Intelligence | 3 | 16 | 8 | | Wisdom | 3 | 16 | 8 | | Luck | 3 | 18 | 8 | +--------------+-----+-----+-------+ Strength - Affects your chances of hitting an opponent in melee combat and also effects the amount of damage you inflict with melee weapons Dexterity - Affects your armour class - thieves get an additional benefit in that their bonus to armour class from dexterity is doubled Vitality - Affects your health points and the rate you regain them. Intelligence - Affects your spell casting success. (if you are a thief your sneak ability is also affected by the difference between your intelligence and the enemy that is searching for you.) Wisdom - Affects your mana pool and also affects the rate of mana regaining. Luck - Affects just about everything from chance of making a critical hit to ability to cast spells [-----| b. NPCs (NPC) |-----] These are non player characters. Uncle: He was your uncle and died in an accident; he was widely known and had many friends. Briggins: He is the local armor person who sells you stuff like weapons and armor. Father Keegan: He is the father in the Church of the Redeemer, he gives priest jobs. He is a very generous man. Sheriff Calden: He is the sheriff of this area and he basically does nothing. /-===========================-\ =-| W A L K T H R O U G H [WKT] |-============================================= ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Save between every mission, just incase you fail it so you can redo it [-----| a. Rat Eradication Mission (REM) |-----] So when you switch on the game and have chosen your Race, you will be outside you uncles house. Go in straight away and go down the first door you see, then take the second left door and open the chest and take those items. Equip the items and now your ready to go. Go out of the house and go north and enter the next building and talk to Briggins and he will give you a key and tell you to kill all the rats in his cellar. Now go round the building to the building left of the weapon shop. Open the door and go downstairs. And go through the only door and take the bottom door. Kill the rat and open the bottom left corner box and pick up the item. Now go up the Top door and kill the rat, open the right box and pick up the item. Now go right and you have 3 ways to go up, down and right. Up and Down have 2 rats each. Go up and kill the rats and collect the Healing Potion then down and kill the rats. Now continue going right and kill the two rats here. After killing the rats continue following the path and you will reach the Momma Rat and kill her. Then go back to Briggins and he will reward you. REWARD: 250 Experience & 50 Gold. ITEMS FOUND: Old leather boots x1; Rusty Short Sword x1; Leather Helmet x1; Minor Healing Potion x1 [-----| b. Graveyard Mission (GYM) |-----] Go to the graveyard. As soon as you enter the graveyard you will be attacked by a zombie. Kill it and return to Black Springs and tell the Sheriff that you killed a zombie. He will tell you to talk to the village priest who will give you the next part of the quest. Go back to the graveyard and enter the underground catacombs walk south, past the first door on the right and take the second door, and your in a room containing one skeleton. Kill it and search the room for some useful items. Then go back to the first door and go eat through the catacombs. There are a number of small rooms containing zombies or skeletons; you should kill them for experience. At the end of the passage to the south is a secret passage. Go south through the passage and follow it until you can turn east again. Again when you have gone as far as you can to the east a passage will lead off south. Beware, two steps in triggers the final encounter and enemies will appear to your south and north surrounding you. REWARD: 800 Experience & 100 Gold ITEMS FOUND: Hard Leather Boots, Minor Heal Potion X6, Kite Shield, Iron; Battle Axe, Rusty; Leather Tunic, Old; Potion of Mana Renewal; Bag Medicine; Gold Ring; Leather Tunic, Hard; Long Sword; Ring of Wood [-----| c. Rescue Timmy Mission (RTM) |-----] ENEMIES: Rats, Goblins and Gunch the Orc Finding the hideout is easy, hideout can be found on the first map outside of Black Spring to the south east. Enter it and head south fighting through rats and goblins. To the south you will find a door being guarded by a goblin. This door leads to an antechamber containing Gunch's bodyguards. Whilst it is possible to fight through the guards they can be avoided. Head south and west of the door (you can do this without alerting the guard) and you will come to a wall to the south with a secret opening. Enter the passage beyond and follow it along until it ends. The exit is then in the north wall. You are now below the antechamber with the guards and in a small room outside of Gunch's quarters. When you take a step in Gunch's room there is some dialogue then you fight him. Kill him and get a key from his chest. Reverse your steps to where you came in but instead of heading for the exit head east. Timmy is being kept chained up in a small room. Once you have freed him you must get him safely out of the hideout and back to his mother. Be aware that the rats and goblins are as likely to attach him as you and he needs protecting, if he dies your in deep trouble. I think, but I have never seen him die. REWARDS: 600 Experience & 100 Gold ITEMS FOUND: Worn Leather Pants; Battle Axe Rusty; Leather Bracers Hard; Necklace Silver; Potion Mana Renewal; Potion Wood Skin; Great Sword Rusty; Potion Minor Heal X 4, Potion Cure Poison [-----| d. Tomb Book Mission (TBM) |-----] ENEMIES: Rats and Thieves Father Horace can be found in his church on the east side of the city. Talk to him and then walk back across the city to talk to Clerk Antaeus. His office is due south of the main council building opposite the sewers main entrance. Once you have visited him and searched for the book you will need to go back to talk to the council again. Okay you can wander all around town and talk to different people but the thieves guild is hidden behind the warehouse in the east of the city. There are two ways to approach it, either from the north round the top of the large warehouse then through a secret passage or north along the side of the Inn by the entrance gates. Once at the guild talk to the guild head and she tells you that a rogue thieves guild, (as if there is any other type!) is operating out of the sewers. They have the tomb she tells you so kill them and you will have it. Okay again you can guess and wander around a lot or you can head for the sewers and find the rogue guild in the north of the sewers. Once you have found them they attack you as soon as you step into their room. This can be a difficult fight as you don't have a lot of room to manoeuvre. REWARD: 2500 Experience & 304 Gold ITEMS FOUND: Brass Ring, PMH X1, PC Poison X 2, Thin Leather Gloves, Potion Of Major Healing; Pearl; Wizard Robe; Chain Pants; Lucky Charm; Leather Pants Hard; Ring Of Alacrity [-----| e. Lighthouse Mission (LHM) |-----] ENEMIES: Spiders, Momma Spider Go to the lighthouse which is south east of Black Springs and talk to Joanna to get this mission. Do this mission when you are at least level 4, because you might die from the spiders if you're a lower level. Then head west until you come to a wooded area with lots of spiders. Make your way through the woods until you come to a clearing in which you will meet the Momma Spider and you will be able to rescue Cranos. REWARD: 100 Experience & 133 Gold ITEMS FOUND: Potion of Minor Heal; Chain pants, rusty [-----| f. Herb Mission (HBM) |-----] ENEMIES: Helene Helene lives in a house near the warehouses in Aldon Crossing. Talk to her and she will give you the mission. Go talk to the witch (not fight) and then go and kill Helene. Watch out though she throws a strong firebolt! Don't take her on unless you can take 30-40 points of damage in one go. You have to kill her to finish the quest, so running won't work. REWARDS: 1750 Experience ITEMS FOUND: Ring of Intellect [-----| g. Sewer Machine Mission (SMM) |-----] ENEMIES: Rats, skeletons, Zombies, Mage Get the mission from the city engineer. Then go down into the sewers and find each of the machines and turn them on. Kill anyone who tries to stop you. The machines have a degree of logic in their placing but I would recommend making a note of which ones you have turned on so you don't forget. They change so I can't tell you the exact location. The sewers might be a very annoying to navigate around but they will be important in the several times in the game so it is worth taking the time to get yourself familiar with the sewers layout and structure, look at all the rooms and anything unusual. Rooms 8, 9 and 10 are connected and inaccessible until you have activated the other 7. The brain behind this operation is waiting for you by machine number 10 and she has a small army of skeletons and zombies. Once aware of your presence she will set her guards on you and then retreat to her chamber where she will wait until you enter it before attacking you. It is actually possible for a mage to cast Summon Monster into room 10 from outside it and then walk round the outside thus making the summon creature move towards and then attack some of her guards. I'll let you work out where to cast the spell from. A special item called Ring of Force can be found in a pile of rubbish south of Sewer Machine Room 6 on the east side. REWARDS: 3018 Experience & 636 Gold ITEMS FOUND: Ring of force - for location see walk through; Plate boots rusty; Chain pants; Chain coif; Leather tunic, magic; Dagger, magic; Potion of Mana Renewal; Bag Medicine x 2; Potion of Healing x 2; Magic sling; Ring of Force; Chain sleeves; Club magic /-==============-\ =-| I T E M S [S7] |-========================================================== ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Items can be found in my Items FAQ. I installed the Aldon's Crossing and went to the main menu. It says "press menu to start". But no matter what I click or press, I can't get the game to just to start! It just hangs down there... Ans1: There are 3 pbd files and one prc file. AldonsCrssng.prc AldonsCrssng.pdb AldonMain.pdb ArenaMod.pdb <----- Not needed!! If you have done the above correctly then you must have a broken Clie or your not using the stylus properly. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Qu2: Aaagh! It's torture! I get myself good and thoroughly hooked on playing AC, pay for registration, and the key won't work! What do I do now? The username is correct, and I put "Other" because Sony Clie PEG-SJ22 wasn't an option given. Ans2: Make sure the registration key is being entered in all-caps. If it still doesn't work, make sure the palm user hotsync name you submitted during the registration process is exactly correct: foobar is not the same thing as Foobar. That should work. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Qu3: Tungsten T3 Palm OS 4.1 Doesn't display Aldon's Crossing. Do I have to revert back to OS3.5? Ans3: You can't get Palm OS 4.1 on a T3, also Aldon's Crossing should work fine on a Palm Os 3.x Upwards. So your T3 must be the problem. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Qu4: How much will it cost to register? Ans4: $19.95 US Dollars --------------------------------------------------------------------- Qu5: How long can I play the game without being registered? Ans5: In the unregistered version, your character can reach level 4. In the unregistered version, you will also not be able to load extra modules (both player created and staff created). /-=======================-\ =-| [5] C R E D I T [CRA13] |-================================================= ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks to the following: CJayC - For putting up the guide, and you're the person who got me into this hobby by creating GameFAQs and making it FREE ASCII Generator (http://www.network-science.de/ascii/) - For the excellent ASCII omg the faq page (http://losmonos.netfirms.com/faqs/) - For the excellent table creation program and centring Archie Shoecream (Jonathan Chang) Aldon's Crossing Forum Users (http://www.constantgames.com/forums/) If you have helped me and are not on the list please contact me and I will add you, I am extremely sorry if this is the case, the reason is most likely that I have forgotten.
