TABLE TENNIS FAQ V1.05 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Contents: 1. PLEASE READ 2. CONTROLS 3. GAMEPLAY 4. TIPS 5. CREDIT 6. CONTACT ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ PLEASE READ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Please do not distrubute this FAQ to any of your websites. This is supposed to be on GameFAQs and nowhere else. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CONTROLS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ HORIZONTAL Move left or right. Poor response so it may take a while before it registers. This is an ability that's a bit more tricky, and can result in you passing over the line if going to far. VERTICAL Move up or down. Poor response so it may take a while before it registers. (Note: You can move diagonally using both at the same time.) ENGLISH Moves the weird little line thing in the middle, this will effect the movement of the ball. This, and the horizontal movement is really the only difference between this and the Atari PONG. RESET This resets the game, you'll be doing this to get another ball. Make sure to pay attention as the ball will come straight at you as soon as it's pressed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ GAMEPLAY ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Since the game can't keep track of points, or anything. You could just move around aimlessly, or play the game how it was meant to be which is: - Start up game. - Press RESET - Hit ball, make sure to use ENGLISH controls so that the ball won't just smack around in a straight line - Opponent hit ball, If s/he fails to hit it then one point for you. If s/he does hit it, make sure to get the ball, or your opponent will gain a point. - Whoever fails press RESET and repeat. - If you push the ball to far up/down and it dissappears, you lose a point. Please note that you have to keep track of points. The game can not figure out how many points you have, or who wins, and loses. Just plan out how many points you want to aim for, and whoever gets there first wins. Or you can just plan out a number of rounds, and whoever has the most points wins, or just… use your imagination. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TIPS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - If you are a beginner, play it like PONG, and don't move horizontally. - If your opponent is better than you, have him/her use the ENGLISH ability alone if you find it hard - If your alone, then just practice the ENGLISH, and HORIZONTAL ability. - Memorise where the ball will land when you start, so you won't lose a point quickly. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CREDITS ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ http://gamesmuseum.uwaterloo.ca/VirtualExhibits/electronic/console/odyssey/tab letennis/index.html XXX:Helped explain the controller to me. http://www.answers.com/topic/table-tennis-game-1 XXX: Gave some minor information http://www.pong-story.com/odyemu.htm XXX: For being a useful emulator.
