BIOMOTOR UNITRON ITEMS LIST Version 1.0 - October 9, 2000 By Blue Type 1 (aka Choo-Kar Kua --> c_kua@hotmail.com) ** CONTENTS ** Introduction The Stats Equipment (Body, Core, and Accessories) Other Tips Miscellaneous The Future Legal Stuff ======================================================================== ** INTRODUCTION ** This is a FAQ on the items that you'll be able to find in Biomotor Unitron. This game kicks ass on Pokemon for several reasons. First of all, you get to use robots! Secondly, you get to customize the robots!! Every aspect of the robot can be customized; everything from the arms, legs, cores to the body. I know that alot of attention has been placed on the arms development aspect of the game, but not much has been written on the other items found in the game. SO, I'm attempting to compile a list of the good stuff other than arms that you can get in the game. ======================================================================== ** THE STATS ** In Biomotor Unitron, stats of your robot are everything. Crappy stats equals you getting your butt kicked. Here's a legend of stats: HP (Hit Points) - the number of hits that your Unitron can take before being defeated EP (Energy Points) - amount of energy available for your Unitron to use in battle. Each weapon has a certain energy requirement when used. RA/LA (Right/Left Arm) - this is the attack rating of each arm that you equip. Obviously, the higher the attack rating, the more damage you will be able to deal out. SP (Shield Point) - this is your defensive capability. It will reduce the amount of damage that you receive when attacked. RP (? Point) - the accuracy of your robot. A higher number indicates an increased chance of hitting the opponent. MP (Movement Point) - this determines your agility. Higher MP means that you will be able to attack first in a battle and also be able to dodge attacks more easily. ======================================================================== ** EQUIPMENT (aka THE GOODIES) ** I'm going to be writing about the bodies, cores, backpacks, accessories and some other miscellaneous things. It's really important to upgrade your stuff otherwise you won't be able to keep up with the increasingly powerful enemies that you'll encounter. B O D Y - although you can really change this at will, it can be upgraded. The body will be upgraded by your engineer and depends on his/her experience level. This is one of the reasons that you want to keep on increasing the development level of your engineer. Body1 - you start with this: HP 15 EP 0 RA 9 LA 9 SP 3 RP 2 MP 3 Body2 - upgraded at about engineer experience level 10 Body3 - upgraded at about engineer experience level 30 C O R E - cores generate the energy for your Unitron's offensive weapons. As you start using more powerful weapons, the EP demands of the weapons go up. If you don't upgrade your core, you will find that you are constantly running out of EP while in battle. 1) Core1 - EP 30 cost 2000 2) Core2 - EP 40 cost 3000 3) Core3 - EP 50 cost 5000 4) Core4 - EP 60 cost 8000 5) Core5 - EP 70 cost 12000 6) Core6 - EP 80 cost 23000 7) Core7 - EP 90 cost 36000 8) Core8 - EP 100 cost 60000 9) Core9 - EP 120 cost 98000 10) CoreX - EP 150 found ??? 11) FireB - EP 200 AP 5 SP 5 RP 5 MP 5 "Efreet's symbol" can be found once all of the seals have been obtained. The seals are then traded with Cyrius. 12) ??? 13) ??? 14) ??? 15) ??? B A C K P A C K - these attach to the rear of your Unitron. they are responsible for increasing your Unitrons MP (agility) and also help out in adding HP to your Unitron. 1) Thrst1 - HP 5 MP 10 cost 1500 2) Thrst2 - HP 15 MP 25 cost 6200 3) Thrst3 - HP 30 MP 50 cost 12000 4) Thrst4 - HP 60 MP 80 cost 26000 5) Thrst5 - HP 80 MP 100 cost 58000 6) Bird - HP 25 MP 75 cost 18000 7) Seraph - HP 70 MP 150 "Angel-style wings" found when ?? beaten 8) Fin - HP 45 MP 55 cost 16000 9) Bardos - HP 100 MP 110 "Devil's wings" found when Earth beaten 10 Bug - HP 30 MP 70 cost 17500 11) Seed - HP 80 MP 140 "Faerie's wings" found when Wood beaten 12) Robe - HP 35 MP 65 cost 17000 13) Cape - HP 90 MP 130 "Ebon-dark cape" found when Water beaten 14) SJW - HP 40 MP 60 cost 16500 15) Grav - HP 95 MP 125 "Anti-grav engine" found ??? 16) ??? 17) ??? 18) ??? 19) ??? 20) ??? I'm going to describe three other ways. 1) Get level-ups - ever wonder what the point of getting experience was in this game? Every time that you gain a level, you are given a small bonus to the stats of your Unitron. You can power up to level 50. 2) Pick up the waitress - overtime that you go in to flirt with the waitress Camil after you gained a new rank at the arena, she will give you food. This will give you a small bonus to some of your stats. 3) Talk to the old guy - when you visit the old guy Helmut at the Spring, he tells you to look into his eyes and stuff. No, he's not a pervert that's trying to pick up little boys (or girls). After you have past a certain experience level, he will give you "magic" spells. At level 10, he gives you the option of NOVA or another spell. I don't remember the other spell, but NOVA is a great offensive spell early on. It does fire damage and uses 30 EP. At level 30, he will give you the option of RAGNOK or some charging spell. RAGNOK is a light based spell that does lots of damage and uses 100 EP. The other spell's description said that it uses EP to raise the Unitron's stats temporarily. ======================================================================== ** MISCELLANEOUS ** What is a good core to use? When you start off, you will find that you will be running short of EP. I would personally only buy the best one available at the store. Don't buy the ones in between because of the expensive prices for marginal increases in EP. The order that I bought cores is as follows: Core1 --> Core5 --> Core7 --> Core9 --> FireB What is a good backpack to use? You want to upgrade this ASAP because the default one is so crappy. You'll notice that if don't upgrade this, you will always be second when fighting and always get hit by the enemy's second attack (ie stun, rust, etc.). When you have the money, go for a backpack that gives you what you need. I found that I needed extra HPs so I chose Fin which has a balance between HP and MP. All of the backpacks that you find at the store are relatively the similar. Don't bother getting any of the Thrst series because of the price. By the time you have that kind of money, you will be able to defeat at least one elemental boss meaning that you will be getting a superior backpack for free. I personally like Bardos because of the good HP bonus. What accessories should I equip? This really depends on what you think is lacking. I always found myself low on HP because I tend to use the heavy guns for Arms, so I used lots of the Armor and Plate series. The AutoRp is probably a good item to have early on (cures paralysis) but I never got any until the end of the game. Even better is to have a good stock of Clear, that way you can cure paralysis and have an extra spot for accessories. Proplr also seems good but I also didn't get this until the end. If you find yourself really short of EP then go with Tank, Cycl or Panl series. What do I upgrade first? Everybody realizes that default equipment sucks. So what do you spend your money on first? You can leave upgrading the legs last because the selection at the store is not that great and doesn't make that much of a difference. The priority is to get your HP and AP up and the best ways are to buy accessories and upgrade arms. The first reason is that empty slots do you no good (something is better than nothing) and secondly, accessories are cheaper than new backpacks, cores and arms. Upgrading your default arms to level 2 gives you a markedly better robot in terms of HP bonus and AP. Try to upgrade your default arms with the free Tools and Steel that the store guy gives you. This depends on your race and your default equipment, though. For humans, the free stuff is enough to upgrade both arms but for Birdians, you can't do a thing until you get some Silver. Your robot with some accessories and level 2 arms should be ok for earning some money to upgrade the backpack. After you have a good backpack, get a new core (preferably Core5 or if you are ambitious enough, go get an elemental backpack). ======================================================================== ** THE FUTURE ** Well, this by no means is complete. There are still quite a few things that are missing like the remaining cores and backpacks. Things like the "magic" spells that Helmut gives to you are also needed. If you can give me a hand with these, it would be great. ======================================================================== ** LEGAL STUFF ** This FAQ is the copyrighted property of me, Choo-Kar Kua (2000).
