What's New -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Version 1.0 (5/5/10): The first version. ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 2. Introduction -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Chibi Maruko-Chan: Uki Uki Shopping is a simple board game for the Famicom, geared towards kids. The premise is to travel the map to reach a certain landmark before the others, all while buying souvenirs at these locations along the way. There really isn't anything to the game, since your results are not saved or carried over to a new map; when you win the current game, that's all there is. The gameplay and general concept is simple with the inclusion of special cards you can receive to affect the others or yourself. In addition to gaining Yen, you can also gain Happiness Points, which you gain by buying souvenirs and sending them home to enjoy. In any event, if you are interested in checking out a short and simple game, this may be for you. ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 3. Controls -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Start: Start the game Select: Move cursor on pre-game screens Control Pad: Move cursor A: Make selection on menu screens B: Cancel selection on menu screens ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 4. Overview -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ======== Pre-Game ======== At the title screen, you will have two options available. You can start a new game (はじめて), or you can do a Quick Start (いつもの) where the settings you used last time you started a new game will be automatically applied (you can still make changes; this basically skips the opening cutscenes). If you are starting a new game, watch the introduction, then you will go to a screen with some options. You can choose if each of the four players is a human (MAN) or computer (COM). The second box will be the number of places the players must visit (# かしょ) before the game is complete. (1-99). The final option is Start (スタート), so when you are ready, choose this to begin the game. The first destination will be randomly chosen for you, and its location on the map will be shown. Gameplay will then commence, one player at a time. ======== Gameplay ======== General Information ------------------- Each player starts at the starting space in the middle of the map. Each will also begin with 1000 Yen and 1000 Happiness Points. There is a box with six options you can choose from when it is your turn. They are: Roulette (ルーレット): Move a certain amount of spaces (1-6); press A to stop. Use Card (カードをつかう): Use a card in your possession. Status (みんなのようす): View the status of all players. Inventory (もちものをみる): View your current inventory. View Surroundings (まわりをみる): View the map (use the Control Pad to move a paper airplane, press A over a space to see a description and/or shops). View Map (しみずしのちず): View a zoomed-out version of the game map (the current goal will be shown). The main goal is to reach each destination first. You need to actually end your turn on that space for it to count. Fortunately, you can move in any direction when it is your turn, so you can always backtrack as needed. If you land on the goal space first, you receive 5000 Yen. If you arrive there first, you will also receive a Lucky Medal displayed by your name until the next destination is reached, and you will receive 1000 Happiness Points. You will then be able to visit that location's souvenir shop before a new goal location is selected and gameplay continues. ============== Special Spaces ============== Being this is a board game, every space has a special meaning. They will be listed below. Card (Red Container): Draw a randomly selected card. Delivery (Rabbit): You get the option to send some of your souvenirs home in exchange for a random amount of Happiness Points, and at a cost of some Yen (10-700 Yen). Happiness (Smile): Gain/lose a random amount of Happiness Points (orange spaces to gain, blue spaces to lose). Hint (Empty Orange): Receive a hint when you land on this space. Event (Empty White): If two players land on this space, you will have the option of participating in an event. The person who you do the event for is random, and the results vary based on how your face looks when you press A to stop. Those results will be listed below. Shop (Storefront): Visit the souvenir shop located at that space. Stop/Steal (Hand): You lose a turn, but you can steal a souvenir from another player. Yen (Yen Symbol): Gain/lose a random amount of Yen (orange spaces to gain, blue spaces to lose). =================== Event Space Results =================== The following is the list of people who may appear at an Event Space. You can choose to participate or not. If you do, your character's facial expressions will be changing at random; press A to stop on a certain face. Depending on the face, you will receive a reward. The happier your face, the better (or luckier) you will be. みぎわさん Results: (Big Lucky) Receive a rare card. (Lucky) Receive a regular card. (Normal) Nothing happens. (Unlucky) Lose a turn. The game then ends at that point. ***************************************************************************** -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= -= 5. Souvenirs -= -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= At each major location on the map (designated by large purple spaces), there is a Souvenir Shop you can visit and buy souvenirs at. There are smaller such shops on the map if you land on the appropriate spaces. At each shop, there are six items available, and only one of each item is available per game. On their own, the items don't mean much, but if you collect groups of items and use the Rabbit Delivery to send them home, you will earn additional Happiness Points towards your goal! Certain items can also be grouped together in sets for added Happiness Points if you check your inventory screen during your turn. The sets are pretty much self-explanatory and are composed of at least three souvenirs (usually ones that are similar in nature, like sports sets, snacks, etc.). ============== Souvenir Shops ============== Location For Sale Price -------- -------- ----- Zoo Animal Biscuit (どうぶつビスケット) 500 (どうぶつえん) Stuffed Bear (クマのぬいぐるみ) 600 Stuffed Monkey (サルのぬいぐるみ) 700 Stuffed Giraffe (キリンのぬいぐるみ) 1000 Stuffed Elephant (ぞうのぬいぐるみ) 2000 Stuffed Lion (ライオンのぬいぐるみ) 3000 Toy Store Choro Q (チョロQ) 500 (おもちゃのマスダヤ) American Yo-Yo (アメリカンヨーヨー) 500 Slime (スライモ) 600 Comic Book (わらいぶくろ) 800 Cubic Lube (キュービックルーブ) 1200 LSI Game (LSIゲーム) 3000 Kusanagi Station Sakura Dumpling (さくらだんご) 500 (くさなぎえき) Tea Dumpling (おちゃだんご) 500 Sword Dumpling (つるぎだんご) 700 Toy Snake (おもちゃのしんじゃ) 1000 Toy Opal (おもちゃのオパール) 1500 Toy Diamond (おもちゃのダイヤ) 2000 Cheap Sweets and Spices Octopus Dumplings (たこやきさん) 100 (だがし からいや) Squid Dumplings (いかやきさん) 100 Pro Baseball Snack (プロやきゅうスナック) 200 Rider Snack (ライダースナック) 300 Tiny Snack (ちびっこスナック) 500 Big Popcorn (ビッグポップコーン) 2000 Kunouzan Strawberry Rice Cake (いちごだいふく) 500 (くのうざん) Strawberry Yeast Bun (いちごまんじゅう) 700 Strawberry Bean Jelly (いちごようかん) 1000 Soccer Charm (サッカーのおまもり) 1000 Success Scroll (ごうかくえま) 1500 Maritime Scroll (かいうんえま) 2000 Nihon Plain Nihon Plain Pennant (にほんだいらペナント) 500 (にほんだいら) Toy Full Bloom (おもちゃのまさかり) 500 Tiny Apron (ちびっこはらがけ) 700 Badminton Set (バドミントンセット) 1000 Tennis Set (テニスセット) 1500 Mini Golf Set (ミニゴルフセット) 3000 Old River Bamboo Rake (たけざいくのくまで) 800 (ふるかわみんげいてん) Cloth Knife (キジのいっとうぼり) 800 Ebisu Ornament (えびすさまのおきもの) 1000 Raccoon Pot (たぬきのやきもの) 2000 Beckoning Cat (まねきねこ) 2000 Ceramic Vase (とうきのつぼ) 5000 Maruzen Subdistrict Ultraman Eraser (ウルトリマンけしゴム) 100 (ぶんくのマルゼン) Kinnikoman Eraser (キンニコマンけしゴム) 200 Supercar Eraser (スーパーカーけしゴム) 200 Tin Body (ブリキのバッヂ) 500 Aluminum Body (アルミのバッヂ) 700 Gold Body (ゴールドバッヂ) 1000 Ameya's Sweets Orange Candy (ポンカンアメ) 100 (おかしのアメヤ) Strawberry Candy (いちごあめ) 200 Milk Candy (ミルクあめ) 300 Yogurt Caramel (ヨーグルトキャラメル) 500 Butter Candy (バターキャンディー) 800 Hawaiian Chocolate (ハワイアンチョコ) 1800 Green Stationary Curry Eraser (カレーけしゴム) 100 (ミドリヤぶんぐてん) Cola Eraser (コーラけしゴム) 200 Colored Pencil Set (いろえんぴつセット) 600 Crayon Set (クレヨンセット) 800 36 Color Set (えのぐセット36) 2000 System Notebook (システムてちょう) 3000 Amusement Park Ancient Pendant (まがたまペンダント) 500 (ゆうえんち) Now-y Pendant (ナウイペンダント) 500 Young Yeast Bun (ヤングまんじゅう) 700 Fever Puppet (フィーバーにんぎょう) 1000 Stuffed Fox (きつねのぬいぐるみ) 1500 Remote Controlled Girl (リモコンわんちゃん) 3000 Kagashi's Pine Grove Fried Bean Curd Cookie (あげせんべい) 300 (かがしのマツバラ) Wasabi Cookie (わさびせんべい) 300 Green Tea Bean Jelly (まっちゃようかん) 600 Split Bean Jelly (おいわけようかん) 800 Homemade Cookie (てやきせんべい) 1000 Gold Leaf Cookie (きんぱくいりせんべい) 3000 Fantasy Toy Store Stuffed Penguin (ペンギンのぬいぐるみ) 500 (おもちゃのメルヘンや) Stuffed Pig (ブタのぬいぐるみ) 500 Stuffed Aardvark (ツチノコのぬいぐるみ) 700 Riko-Chan (リコちゃん) 1000 Watari-Kun (ワタリくん) 1200 Riko-Chan House (リコちゃんハウス) 1500 Jiro Government Building Wooden Pendant (わらじペンダント) 800 (じろちょうブか) Jiro Pennant (じろちょうペンナント) 800 Jiro Cookie (じろちょうせんべい) 1000 Jiro Yeast Bun (じろちょうまんじゅう) 1000 King's Cucumber (おやぶんのカッパ) 2000 Sand Picture (さんどがさ) 3000 Western Gourmet Bakery Leftover Cookie (おさがなクッキー) 500 (ようがしのトリコドール) Orange Pie (オレンジパイ) 500 Strawberry Pie (ストロベリーパイ) 800 Apple Pie (アップルパイ) 800 Cookie Assortment (クッキーつめあわせ) 2000 Chocolate Truffle (トリュフチョコレート) 2500 Super Nakamuraya Crunchy Ramen (ポリポリラーメン) 100 (スーパー なかむらや) Shrimp Ramen (えびせんくん) 100 Chips (チップスだー) 200 Salty Seaweed Chips (のりしおチップス) 300 Plum Chips (うめしそチップス) 300 Steamed Chips (カラムーチェ) 1000 Kimuraya's Sweets Supopon Gum (スポポンガム) 100 (おかしのキムラヤ) Foundering Gum (ちんぼつガム) 200 Chocolate Lollipop (チョコペロチー) 200 Dark Chocolate (ちていじんチョコ) 300 Chocolate Donuts (チョコドーナツ) 500 Giant Gum (ジャイアントガム) 2000 Cinderella Toy Heaven Fashion Compact (おしゃれコンパクト) 400 (シンデレラがんぐてん) Fake Steak (へんしんステッキ) 500 Idol Doll (アイドルにんぎょう) 700 Injured Person Set (けがにんセット) 1000 Nurse Set (かんごふさんセット) 1200 Doctor Set (おいしゃさんセット) 1500 Super Amaiya Dokkiriman Chocolate (ドッキリマンチョコ) 50 (スーパー あまいや) Nice Caramel (ダイスキャラメル) 100 Warship Caramel (ぐんかんキャラメル) 200 Chocolate Marble (チョコマーブル) 500 Chocolate Bobbles (チョコボンボン) 2000 Trade Fair Mt.
