Banana Prince (Famicom Version) JAPANESE QUIZ GUIDE V 1.0 by B.L. Timmins AKA Master Higgins on Gamefaqs AKA Dr. Morbis everywhere else. The following is a complete list of answers to the quiz questions in the Japanese (Famicom) version of Banana Prince. The intention of this document is to allow non-Japanese speaking gamers to finish Banana Prince - and attain the best ending - on an original Famicom with an original Famicom cartridge without having to resort to purchasing a translated version of the game or running it through an emulator. Here's how it works. The game is comprised of seven islands or "worlds", each consisting of three levels, such that the last level in the game is 7-3, for a total of 21 levels. If you play through these 21 levels only, and ignore all other aspects of the game, you get the worst ending. If, however, you successfully complete the four bonus quiz boards, which are top-down maps with numbered squares looking not unlike a board game, you will see the best ending when the game is completed. To do this, however, you must answer quiz questions to advance through the quiz boards and to defeat each quiz board's boss. While this aspect of the game can be ignored, one must still correctly answer five quiz questions to defeat the boss at the end of 5-3 of the main game, and eight more questions right before the final boss, for a total of thirteen questions minimum to beat the game in any capacity. That is where this guide comes in, and fortunately, this is very easy to do. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Quiz Behaviour (Famicom Version) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= In the Japanese version of Banana Prince, there are 64 unnumbered quiz questions that always begin in the same spot when a new game is started, follow the same sequence, and loop indefinitely for as long the game is in session (that is, after the 64th question is displayed, the next question would be the first question you saw in your current game, and so on). As such, getting through the quizzes is a simple matter of following the chart provided below. Each question is multiple choice, with the possible answers being labelled 1,2,3 and 4. I have numbered the questions from "01" to "64" and provided the numerical answer to each question beside it. Question #1 is the first question you will always see when you start a new game, and question #2 is always the second question you will see, regardless of how you answered question #1, and so forth. If your first quiz is four questions long, the next time you face a new quiz, question #5 will be the first question you are asked. It is very straight forward, providing that you never lose track of exactly where you are at. One simple solution is to print out this list and have it in front of you while playing the game, such that you can check off each question as you answer it. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Japanese Quiz Answers =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Q# Answer Q# Answer Q# Answer Q# Answer 01---2 17---4 33---1 49---4 02---4 18---3 34---2 50---4 03---2 19---1 35---2 51---3 04---3 20---4 36---3 52---1 05---4 21---4 37---2 53---3 06---1 22---4 38---4 54---2 07---2 23---1 39---4 55---1 08---1 24---4 40---3 56---1 09---3 25---2 41---4 57---3 10---4 26---4 42---4 58---1 11---4 27---1 43---2 59---2 12---2 28---4 44---3 60---1 13---2 29---4 45---2 61---2 14---2 30---3 46---4 62---2 15---4 31---2 47---4 63---1 16---1 32---2 48---1 64---1 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-= The Best Ending =-=-=-=-=-=-=-= To get the best ending, you need to complete the four bonus quiz boards, as mentioned. To find them, go in the first door on the left any time the completion of a level gives you the option of going in one of three doors. It requires 30 rings (the in-game currency) to take the cannon that fires you off to a quiz board, so make sure you've got at least that many rings saved up before you exit each level. Some random doors inside levels also lead to the quiz board too. Anyway, once on these bonus maps, you will roll a nine-sided die, and must then move the exact number of your roll. To complete each quiz board on your first try, it's a simple matter of always making sure you finish your roll on a numbered quiz square or the "BOSS" square. Avoid the vegetable squares at all costs. Henceforth, complete each quiz square as you encounter it, making your way to the boss square, where a final quiz for that bonus map awaits you. Complete that quiz and you will be returned to the regular portion of the game. After completing all four quiz boards, there is nowhere to go in the first of the three post-level doors, so concentrate on upgrading to the best weapon in the game (upgrades cost rings, so save them up to spend on better weapons in the shops through the middle doors) and make your way to the end of 7-3 and defeat the final boss. Note that if you have successfully completed all four bonus maps, there will not be a required quiz before the final boss; going through the final door of 7-3 will take you right to him. May the bananas be with you always... END This guide was made for display on www.gamefaqs.com and is copyright 2019 B.L. Timmins.
