He obviously has something important to say. Listen carefully, because he'll give you your mission for this part of the game. He informs you about the rumor of the missing children, and wastes no time telling you to go find the children, and to report back to him when you have located the missing children. Now that you know your mission, you can go around talking to people, getting information, and exploring the town and Castle. ITEM LOCATIONS -------------- -MEDICAL HERB: In the southeast corner of the Castle, there is a room with 5 drawers. Search the 4th drawer on the right for your prize. WHAT YOU FIND OUT ----------------- -Izmit is on the coast beyond the cave west of the Castle. That will shortly be our next place to visit. -Flora's husband, Alex, is missing. If we find him, she requests that you tell her. We'll be sure to do that. Build your level to 3, buy what equipment you can, and head west to the Cave to Izmit. --------CAVE TO IZMIT-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 3 ITEMS TO BE FOUND: MEDICAL HERB, 40 GOLD PIECES Keep following the path until you come to a fork, then go right. Follow the path north a little more, and at the next fork you reach, go right again. This will lead to a dead end room with a chest that contains a MEDICAL HERB. Turn around and head out of the dead end room, and go straight up the path you ignored before. This leads to a big room with a tiny body of water in the middle, and paths heading north and west. Both of the paths eventually connect, so it doesn't matter which one you take, they both lead to the same place. Where the paths meet is a chest holding 40 GOLD PIECES for the taking. Head north from there, up the stairs, and you're back to the light of day (or the darkness of night if you entered at night). Head east from the cave, and you're at Izmit. --------IZMIT-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 4 ITEMS TO BE FOUND: MEDICAL HERB INN - 6 G ITEM SHOP --------- MEDICAL HERB 8 G ANTIDOTE 10 G HERB FAIRY WATER 20 G WEAPON SHOP ----------- COPPER SWORD 100 G THORN WHIP 200 G BOOMERANG 350 G CHAIN SICKLE 550 G IRON SPEAR 800 G ARMOR SHOP ---------- CHAIN MAIL 350 G BRONZE ARMOR 700 G HALF PLATE 1200 G ARMOR SCALE SHIELD 180 G IRON SHIELD 650 G WOODEN HAT 120 G EQUIPMENT TO BUY ---------------- Ragnar - Iron Spear, Half Plate Armor, Iron Shield The shops here contain the best equipment available in Chapter 1. Buy what you can, and talk to the people. ITEM LOCATIONS -------------- -MEDICAL HERB: In the room adjacent to the Inn, search the 3rd drawer on the right for you prize. WHAT YOU FIND OUT ----------------- -Alex, Flora's missing husband, is here. Although he has lost his memory, at least we have located him. Since he is in jail, you need to go back to Burland and bring Flora here. --------BURLAND-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 4 Pick up Flora, and escort her to Izmit. --------IZMIT-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 4 After you bring Flora here, Alex regains his memory, and there's a brief reunion. Alex then tells you that there is a secret playground 4 steps south, and 4 steps to the east of the village signpost. Before you head to the secret playground, fight around until you are at level 5. Pick up what equipment you can, and head out. --------BOTTOM OF AN OLD WELL-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 5 ITEMS TO BE FOUND: AGILITY SEED, MEDICAL HERB x 2, 600 GOLD PIECES, FLYING SHOES When you enter this eerie place, a voice will tell you to "Come this way...", or down the well. Before you do, head left and into a small room, then down the stairs, which lead you to a storeroom. Search the jars, and you will find an AGILITY SEED, which will raise agility 1- 3 points, and a MEDICAL HERB. Now head down the well. You will end up in what seems to be an underground maze. However, it isn't that hard. Voices will help guide you. Just keep following where the voices tell you to go until you hit a fork with some stairs leading down to the south, and a path leading to the right. Take the path on the right first, and it will lead you to a chest with another MEDICAL HERB. Now head back, and go south, down those stairs. After you head down those stairs, go right until you reach another fork. Ignore the voice again, and keep going right. At the end of this snaking path, you come to a room with a Healer (ignore the chest for now). Talk to him, and he says his name is Healie, and he wants to become human. He thinks that traveling with a human will make him one. By all mean, let him join! Although you can't control him in battle, or equip him with weapons/items (he's a UC - Uncontrollable Character), he's a valuable asset. Turn around out of this room, and go back to that fork, and this time, go up. Keep going north at the first intersection, ignoring the paths leading left and right, and at the next fork, go right, and you can collect that chest you saw in the room that Healie was in. It contains 600 GOLD PIECES! Wow! Now, go back to that last fork, and go left. When you reach the end of this fork, you will find a chest containing a pair of FLYING SHOES. You can use these (outside, of course) to get to the Loch Tower, the one to the west of Izmit Village, surrounded by water. Also, now that you have these, no more enemies will attack you on your way out, so head out of this scary place! -Note: In case you don't know how to get out, go back to the very first fork, and head left, into a room with some holes in the floor. Drop in one of the pits, and you'll be in the room below the storeroom. Now make your way back outside! By now, you should be at level 7, and have a lot of gold to spend. Spend the money however you please (I suggest armor, as you'll soon see why). Heal up, save, and use the Flying Shoes to go to the final place of Chapter 1, the Loch Tower. --------LOCH TOWER-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 7 ITEMS TO BE FOUND: WING OF WYVERN, 640 GOLD PIECES, STRENGTH SEED, SCALE SHIELD, SWORD OF MALICE, LUCK SEED You land on the top floor of the Loch Tower. You see what looks like a wizard and a child as you land, but as you walk towards them, they disappear down the stairs. After them! From the stairs, go north and follow the hallway to the end, and you'll find a chest containing a WING OF WYVERN. Now head back around to the stairs, and go south out of the room. Keep going right, and then north, and you will find some stairs. By all means, go down them! You will end up in a large room. First, go north, and then west through the big yellow door. Behind that door you will find a chest that contains 640 GOLD PIECES for the taking. Go back out of that room, and head north, up some stairs, and into a room with a chest holding a STRENGTH SEED. Use this, and go back down the stairs. Head back to those stairs you entered this floor from, go west, and then north between those two pillars. This will take you to a chest with a SCALE SHIELD in it. Head west from the chest, then north, and down the stairs. You are now on the ground floor. First, head south and down the stairs. This room contains a healing tile. Stepping on it will recover your HP and MP to full. Use this, and head back up the stairs. Now go back to the stairs that brought you here, and go west. This will take you to a room with a treasure chest containing the most important item in this tower, a SWORD OF MALICE! Equip this immediately, this weapon will help a lot! Now head out, go east, and inside this room you will find another chest containing a LUCK SEED. Use this for a luck boost of 1-3, and exit this room. Go back to the stairs that lead to the healing tile, and follow it around until you come to some stairs leading down, and an injured soldier. Before you head down those stairs, make sure you are at level 9 or higher, and have all of the best possible armor from Izmit Village. If you haven't gotten all of that yet, go back and get it. When you are ready, talk to the soldier (it's important to the storyline, it tells about the Ruler of Evil and the Hero), and head down the stairs! You are in the basement of the tower. Head east, and you'll see 2 monsters. A child runs up to you, pleading for help. When you talk to the monster on the altar, a fight will begin! --------BOSS-------- Saro's Shadow HP: 250 Giant Eyeball HP: 42 Kill the Giant Eyeball first, or else it will change it's expression, and do terrific blows, which can hurt you a lot. 2-3 hits should do. Then start pounding away at Saro's Shadow. As long as Healie stays alive, this battle will be yours, but if he dies too soon, you may not win. When you do win, you get 100 experience points and 100 gold as your personal reward. Now that you have rescued the children, take them back home to Izmit where they belong. --------IZMIT-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 10 The mothers are more than relieved that their children are home safely. You are thanked, and it looks like you work is over. Report back to the King at Burland. --------BURLAND-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 10 Enter the Castle, and talk to the King. He says that he is proud of you, and will give you anything you want. Ragnar wants to go on a journey to find and protect the Hero who is still young. The King gives him his full support, and 3000 experience points as a parting gift, enough to boost Ragnar to level 12 or 13. Then he's off! ************************************ * Chapter 2 * * Princess Alena's Adventure * ************************************ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------SANTEEM-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 1 ITEMS TO BE FOUND: FAIRY WATER, FEATHER HAT You start off this chapter as Alena, the Princess of Santeem. You are summoned to your father's chamber, where he proceeds to tell you that you cannot go out on a journey to test your strength, and never to leave the Castle. After that, you are dismissed. ITEM LOCATIONS -------------- -FAIRY WATER: Room behind the House of Healing, search the 2nd drawer on the left. -FEATHER HAT: Alena's room, in the 5th drawer on the right. Start off by talking to everyone. When you go upstairs to your room, you see that someone is repairing a section of wall in your room, and says to come back later. Go back downstairs and talk to everyone else. When you are finished, go back upstairs to your room, and you find that the wall is finished. If you search the wall, you find out it is repaired with flimsy boards, so you can kick out the wall again. This may be your way out of the Castle! -Note: Don't try to figure out how to open Santeem's treasure room, you can't do it in this chapter. We'll be back for it in Chapter 5. When you are outside the Castle, after only taking a few steps, Cristo and Brey come after you. They are not here to bring you back, but to join you. Now that you have them in your party, head west, to Surene. --------SURENE-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 1 INN - 6 G WEAPON SHOP ----------- CLUB 30 G COPPER SWORD 100 G THORN WHIP 200 G ARMOR SHOP ---------- BASIC 10 G CLOTHES WAYFARER'S 70 G CLOTHES LEATHER 180 G ARMOR LEATHER 90 G SHIELD LEATHER HAT 65 G MEDICAL HERB 8 G EQUIPMENT TO BUY ---------------- Alena - Thorn Whip, Leather Armor Cristo - Thorn Whip, Leather Armor, Leather Shield, Leather Hat Brey - Leather Armor, Leather Shield, Leather Hat Surene is a very little settlement. There is not much use for this town other than use of the shops, and the House of Healing to save. WHAT YOU FIND OUT ----------------- -If you go north, and then east, you'll find a village in the mountains. -Note: There is a locked door we will be coming back for in Chapter 5. With that in mind, fight around Surene until level 3. After that, head north, then east until you find Tempe. --------TEMPE-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 3 INN - 9 G WHAT YOU FIND OUT ----------------- -A monster, which has settled in the northern woods, is terrorizing the village, and that it threatens to destroy the place if not offered young girls. -The chief of the village asks if there is anyone strong enough to destroy the monster. If you say yes, he will tell you to talk to the shaman. The shaman wants to use you as an offering to get the monster to appear, and then you can kill it. You're not quite ready yet. Go outside and fight until you're at about level 4. Pick up any equipment you can, and when you are ready, go back and talk to the shaman. A fight will begin! --------BOSS-------- Chameleon Humanoid HP: 40 Rabidhound x 2 HP: 23 each This battle isn't too hard. Concentrate on taking out the 2 Rabidhounds first, having Brey cast Icebolt, and Cristo and Alena attack. Once the 2 Rabidhounds are gone, have Brey cast Sap, and then have the 3 of them pound away. He should be gone very quickly (unless he prolongs the battle by casting Heal). Once you win, you get 150 experience, 100 gold, and LIFEFORCE NUTS. You've done all you can for now, so head out of town, through the north. After leaving town, go north a little bit, and then head east until you reach Frenor. --------FRENOR-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 7 INN - 12 G ITEM SHOP --------- MEDICAL HERB 8 G ANTIDOTE 10 G HERB WING OF 25 G WYVERN FULL MOON 30 G HERB CHAIN MAIL 350 G WOODEN HAT 120 G EQUIPMENT TO BUY ---------------- Alena - Chain Mail Cristo - Chain Mail, Wooden Hat WHAT YOU FIND OUT ----------------- -When you talk to the woman as you first enter Frenor, she says that the Princess of Santeem is here, and that she's going to go visit her. That's odd, because YOU'RE the Princess of Santeem, so follow her and find out what's going on. -After the whole ordeal with the fake Princess being kidnapped, you find out that the kidnappers want the Golden Bracelet to be brought to them, midnight at the graveyard, as ransom for the "Princess". The Golden Bracelet is stored away to the south in a cave. You're not ready to go to the cave yet, so fight around until you have earned enough gold to upgrade your equipment. This will put you at level 8. Save, rest up, and then head to the Cave South of Frenor. --------CAVE SOUTH OF FRENOR-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 8 ITEMS TO BE FOUND: WING OF WYVERN, 360 GOLD PIECES, AGILITY SEED, MAGIC POTION, GOLDEN BRACELET As you enter, take the first path leading south you see. This takes you to a chest with a WING OF WYVERN inside. Turn back around, and follow the path west until you reach a big room, with an altar has a chest on it, and a path going north. Take the northern path first, and it will lead you to a chest with 360 GOLD PIECES inside. Go back to the big room, and grab the chest on the altar. It contains an AGILITY SEED, which you can use on whoever you please. Go around the back of the altar, and follow the path until it takes you to some stairs leading down. From here, go south, then east, ignoring the path leading south (it's a dead end room). When you come to a room with 4 pillars, go west, and that'll take you to a chest with a MAGIC POTION. This handy item will recover a portion of someone's MP, but only once. Go back to the room with 4 pillars, and head south. Follow the path until you reach a chest. Inside you will find the GOLDEN BRACELET. Now that you have what you need, cast Outside and go back to Frenor. --------FRENOR-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 9 Make sure it's night. Then head to the graveyard (in the northwest part of Frenor). When you give the kidnappers the Golden Bracelet, they disappear, and the fake Princess admits her mistake, and tells you that her name is May. She gives you the THIEF'S KEY, and disappears. ITEM LOCATIONS -------------- -STRENGTH SEED/GUM POD: Room southwest of the Inn with 6 jars, search the jars for both of these items. WHAT YOU FIND OUT ----------------- -There is a tournament going on in Endor, and that there is a shrine to the far east of this bazaar that can take you there. -The King of Santeem is in trouble, and he needs help. Cast Return, and go back to the Castle. --------SANTEEM CASTLE-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 10 You find out the King has lost his voice. Somebody tells you that Goz, a man who lives in the backyard shed, may be able to help you. WHAT YOU FIND OUT ----------------- -Goz tells you that Marone, the poet of Surene, may be able to help. Be sure to take the WING OF WYVERN from the second chest on the right out of his room before you leave. --------SURENE-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 10 WHAT YOU FIND OUT ----------------- -Marone tells you that taking an elfin medicine called Birdsong Nectar helped make his voice lovely. He says that he found it in a desert bazaar during a trip. I guess we better go back to the desert bazaar. --------BAZAAR-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 10 WHAT YOU FIND OUT ----------------- -Birdsong Nectar can be found in a western tower where elves are said to live. We'd better go to that tower. Before you go to the tower, makes sure your equipment is upgraded, and you're at level 11, so Brey has Snowstorm. This will make the tower easier. When you're ready, head west to the Birdsong Tower. --------BIRDSONG TOWER------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 11 ITEMS TO BE FOUND: STRENGTH SEED, 1200 GOLD PIECES, WING OF WYVERN, BIRDSONG NECTAR As you enter this tower, you have 2 ways to go. If you go north, it will lead you to some stairs going down, and leading to an...Inn? Yes, there is an Inn here. Use it if you feel the need. From the entrance of the tower, go a bit west, then north. This will take you to a door (which you can open with the Thief's Key), and take the stairs behind that door leading up. You're now on the second floor. To the south, you'll see 2 paths. Take the second one on the left (the first one is a dead end), and follow it until you reach some stairs leading up. Go up the stairs. From the stairs, go north until you reach a fork, then go as far left as you can go. Now head north. This will leads you to a room with 2 chests, containing a STRENGTH SEED, and 1200 GOLD PIECES. Turn around, and go back to the stairs that brought you to the second floor. Now, go south again, but this time, take the corridor leading east out of the room. Take the first south you see, and keep following that hallway all the way until you reach some stairs. Go up those stairs. You're in another big room. From the stairs, go north, and when you come to 2 paths leading north, take the left one. This leads you to a chest with a WING OF WYVERN. Go back to the stairs that lead you to this floor. From the stairs, go west, and keep following the path (be careful not to fall into the pit that's next to the path as you walk) until you reach stairs leading up to the 4th floor. Now that you're on the 4th floor, go south and follow the path until you reach more stairs going up. You're now on the top floor. You'll see 2 elves dancing around. As you approach them, they disappear, but one of them says she dropped the medicine. Search the ground where they were dancing and you'll find the BIRDSONG NECTAR. Cast Outside, and go back to Santeem. --------SANTEEM-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 11 When you arrive at the Castle, use the Birdsong Nectar on the King. He gets his voice back, and he tells you he had bad dreams about a big monster from the Evil World coming out and destroying everything. He went and told the Counsel, then he lost his voice. He then gives you permission to travel the entire world to find out things. This means we can now use the travel door at the Shrine East of Desert to Endor (in case you hadn't tried to earlier, a guard wouldn't let you because the King said you couldn't use it). Go to the Shrine East of Desert. --------SHRINE EAST OF DESERT-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 12 Take the travel door, and you'll be taken to the Shrine Northwest of Endor. --------SHRINE NORTHWEST OF ENDOR-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 12 INN - 24 G Exit the shrine, and head southeast until you reach Endor. --------ENDOR-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 13 ITEMS TO BE FOUND: LIFEFORCE NUTS INN - 18 G INN # 2 - 24 G COIN EXCHANGE: 10 G --> 1 C ITEM SHOP --------- MEDICAL HERB 8 G ANTIDOTE 10 G HERB FAIRY WATER 20 G WING OF 25 G WYVERN FULL MOON 30 G HERB WOODEN HAT 120 G ITEM SHOP # 2 ------------- MEDICAL HERB 8 G IRON CLAW 1500 G WEAPON SHOP ----------- CHAIN SICKLE 550 G VENOMOUS 750 G DAGGER IRON SPEAR 880 G MORNING STAR 1250 G ABACUS OF VIRTUE 1600 G ARMOR SHOP ---------- CHAIN MAIL 350 G BRONZE ARMOR 700 G HALF PLATE 1200 G ARMOR IRON APRON 1500 G SCALE SHIELD 180 G IRON SHIELD 650 G EXCHANGE COUNTER ---------------- MAGIC POTION 30 C WIZARD'S 500 C RING STAFF OF 1000 C JUBILATION MIRROR OF RA 2500 C METEORITE 4000 C ARMBAND METAL BABBLE 50000 C SHIELD EQUIPMENT TO BUY ---------------- Alena - Iron Claw Cristo - Half Plate Armor, Iron Shield You'll have enough money for this equipment, unless you died many times. -Note: Item Shop # 2 and Inn # 2 are the ones located in the Coliseum. -Note # 2: There are 3 doors that we will be coming back for in Chapter 5. There is lots to do in Endor. Tons of shops, even a Casino! Take some time to visit the Casino. There are lots of cool things to be won down in the Casino, if you have enough coins. You can use slot machines, play poker, and bet on monster fights. Items that you'll want to shoot for by the end of the game are the Metal Babble Shield, and the Meteorite Armband. Coins are not lost at the end of each chapter, so buy as many as you can before ending this chapter, or if you're bored, take some time and earn some of them right now. ITEM LOCATIONS -------------- -LIFEFORCE NUTS: Enter the left hallway of the Coliseum. You'll see an opening in the wall. Go out of it, then south down some stairs to a room with a chest containing your find. WHAT YOU FIND OUT ----------------- -The winner of the tournament gets to marry the Princess. If the winner is female, she won't have to marry. The King tells you to win the tournament, because he regrets the promise he made. -A very powerful man called Nercosaro is most likely going to win the tournament. Head to the entrance of the Coliseum. Enter it, and talk to the guard on the left. You can watch the tournament from the stairs on the right, which is absolutely pointless. After talking to the guard, you'll enter a room with an Inn (Inn # 2), an Item Shop (Item Shop # 2), a House of Healing, some stairs leading up, and a door to the north leading out. If you do not have the 1500 gold needed to buy the Iron Claw (you should), go out and earn it. In fact, before heading up the stairs and fighing in the tournament, go and level up to 13, if you're not there already. When you're ready, fill Alena's entire inventory with 5 Medical Herbs, then head up those stairs. When you go up the stairs, the tournament will begin, and you'll have to fight 5 opponents, 1 on 1. --------BOSS-------- Hun HP: 70 Hun is easy. 3 hits is all it should take to defeat him. --------BOSS-------- Roric HP: 90 Roric is a bit tougher. It'll take 4-5 hits for him to go down, and it may be necessary to use a Medical Herb during this battle. You get a MEDICAL HERB as a reward for beating him. --------BOSS-------- Vivian HP: 90 Beat Vivian the same way you beat Roric, using a Medical Herb if necessary. Vivian can cast Firebal and Healmore, but by the time she casts Healmore, she most likely won't have enough MP left, so no problem here. --------BOSS-------- Sampson HP: 90 Sampson is the toughest opponent you'll face. Just pace yourself, using a Medical Herb when needed, and you'll pull out a victory. --------BOSS-------- Linguar HP: ? Linguar will split into 4 mirages. If you hit the right one, Linguar will take damage. After a few hits, he's toast. Good luck. You don't fight Necrosaro. He has disappeared, so you are declared the winner of the tournament. The King thanks you for winning, and advises you to go to Santeem and let your father know you are well. Exit the Castle, and a guard will come running up to you. He'll tell you to return to Santeem Castle immediately, and he...disappears. Odd. If you try to cast Return, you can't. You'll have to step outside town to use it. --------SANTEEM-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 14 Back at Santeem, it's completely empty. You can search wall to wall, but no one is to be found. When you exit the Castle, the chapter ends. Alena's party wants to end this mystery, so they're off again! ********************************** * Chapter 3 * * Taloon the Arms Merchant * ********************************** ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------LAKANABA-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 1 ITEMS TO BE FOUND: MEDICAL HERB ITEM SHOP --------- MEDICAL HERB 8 G ANTIDOTE 10 G HERB FAIRY WATER 20 G WING OF 25 G WYVERN WEAPON SHOP ----------- CLUB 30 G COPPER SWORD 100 G THORN WHIP 200 G *BOOMERANG 350 G *CHAIN SICKLE 550 G *SWORD OF 3500 G MALICE *These weapons could be available if you bought them from the customers and did not sell them back. You are awaken by your wife to go to work. She tells you to go west. You don't want to be late to work, do you? ITEM LOCATIONS -------------- -MEDICAL HERB: The 3rd jar on the left as you leave your house. WHAT YOU FIND OUT ----------------- -A child says the Innkeeper wants to talk to you. -When you go talk to him, he tells you about the Iron Safe. He says that it's in a cave to the north, and that it'll protect your money, even if you're defeated in battle. He says to get it before you head south. -Endor is south of here. Now go west from your house, and eventually you'll see someone standing outside. That's your boss. He says you're late, and rushes you inside. Now you're working. Here are a few tips for working at this store. -You're paid on commission (the more you sell, the more you make), do not buy anything the costumers want to sell to you. It doesn't have a negative effect, but is useless. However, buy the weapon if it's a Boomerang, Chain Sickle, or even better, the Sword of Malice. If you're lucky enough to have someone sell the Sword of Malice to you, don't let anyone buy it. -You can stop working anytime during the day by going downstairs and talking to your boss. -When you're done with work, go home and sleep to start a new day. -Note: There is a locked door in the basement of your boss's shop that we will be coming back for in Chapter 5. Add it to the list. You'll want to work at the store long enough to be able to afford a Copper Sword, Leather Armor, Leather Shield, and Leather Helmet. Don't invest in an expensive weapon, you'll find a good one soon enough. Once you have the equipment you need, fight around outside Lakanaba until level 3, then head north to the Cave North of Lakanaba. --------CAVE NORTH OF LAKANABA-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 3 ITEMS TO BE FOUND: CHAIN SICKLE, IRON SAFE As you enter, take the first set of stairs you see leading down. Keep following the path, and when you come to a gray wall, it'll ask you to push a button. Say yes, and water will come splashing out, moving you to the next floor. From here, take the stairs leading up again. This will take you to another gray wall, but don't push the button yet. Go beyond the wall, then north. You'll find a chest containing a CHAIN SICKLE. This is why I told you not to invest in an overly expensive weapon. Now go back and push the button on the gray wall. The water will take you down another floor. From here, go north, then west down some stairs (going east will take you up some stairs, and back to where you just were). This is the only tricky part to the cave. Follow the path, past the stairs leading down, and you'll see a boulder behind a gray wall. You need that boulder to advance in the cave. Walk south of the gray wall, and the boulder will start rolling, and "following you". Take the first right you see, keep going south, then take the next left, and then go up just a little bit. If you did this right, the boulder will sink into a hole that was directly south of where it started, and you can advance down some stairs. You'll see 2 little boulders when you go down these steps. Push one with you all the way to the end of this corridor. When you reach the end, take the IRON SAFE from the chest, and push the boulder onto the plate on the floor below the treasure chest, otherwise, you can't get out without putting the Iron Safe back. Once you done all of this, exit the way you came in, and you're out! Once you're out of the cave, build your levels until about 7, then continue south, and you'll notice a little town. This tiny place is called Foxville. --------FOXVILLE-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 7 ITEM SHOP --------- MEDICAL HERB 8 G BROAD SWORD 10 G There's something strange about this town. WHAT YOU FIND OUT ----------------- -An architect named da Gardi is staying in this town, and when you talk to the person next to him, she yelps...weird. -The strangest thing of all is when you go to the northern most part of town, and the man in that house lets you stay the night. Don't forget to do that. -Endor is south of here, and that there is an old man there who wants to sell his shop (we saw him in Chapter 2). -The King wants to conquer Endor. What should we do with all of this information? Well, first, let's go see who's imprisoned here. Go to the prison (it's in the northern part of the Castle). Evading the guards is easy, and when you talk to the man from Lakanaba, you discover it's Grandpa Tom's son. He askes you for a Wing of Wyvern, so he can escape. Give him one, and he leaves. He says he'll make it up to you when you get back to Lakanaba. Now, come back to the Castle at night, and go to the back of the weapon shop. You'll find Prince Reed, and he askes you to deliver a letter to the Princess of Endor as soon as the bridge is repaired. You obtain the PRINCE'S LETTER. Now, make your way back to Lakanaba. --------LAKANABA-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 7 It's time for Tom's son to pay his debt. All you need from him is his dog (Tov). He also tells you to report back to him when you do open your shop. Well, enough of that, now it's time to see what kind of gossip is going around Endor. WHAT YOU FIND OUT ----------------- -An artifact called the Silver Statue is very valuable and could fetch a nice price. There is also a man in this town who will buy it no matter what the cost. -Remember the man who wanted to sell his shop? Go talk to him. He's willing to sell his shop, but for 35000 gold! Well, you could go out and fight for it, but there's a better way to earn it, and you'll soon find out. -You hear that the Silver Statue is in a cave. There's a cave to the north, but you might not be able to make it alive. There is some help available in this town, but at a cost. You can higher Strom, a guardsman, for 5 days, at 400 gold, and you can hire Laurent, a spell caster, for 5 days, at 600 gold. I advice you do this. It'll make the cave much easier. So, fight around Endor until you have enough money to hire Strom and Laurent, and enough money for all of the best equipment. Raise your level to about 12. When you're ready, head east, then north to the Cave of the Silver Statue, stopping by the Tunnel Between Endor and Branca on your way. --------TUNNEL BETWEEN ENDOR AND BRANCA-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 12 An old man is in here, and he dreamed of building a cave to an eastern port town and finding all the treasures of the world. He says that if he had 60000 gold pieces, he could finish the tunnel. He asks if someone can carry on his dream. If you say yes, he'll say you must own a shop first, and it all starts there. Remember this old man. You'll come back to him. Now head to the Cave of Silver Statue --------CAVE OF SILVER STATUE-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 12 ITEMS TO BE FOUND: WING OF WYVERN, MORNING STAR, MEDICAL HERB, 760 GOLD PIECES, IRON SPEAR, BROAD SWORD, HALF PLATE ARMOR, SILVER STATUETTE When you enter the cave, follow the path along, then go right, ignoring the stairs on the left, until you reach a ship. Get in the ship, and follow the waterway and when you reach the end of it, fall down that hole. Get out of the boat, and follow the path north, and take the treasure chest that is on your left. It holds a WING OF WYVERN. From the chest, keep going right (ignoring all of the other paths branching off, you'll come back for them in a minute), and when you hit the end, go south, and up the stairs in the righthand corner. From the stairs, follow the path north, then go west, and keep following the path until you reach a button. Push it. All of the water that's on this floor will drain and will flood the bottom floor, allowing you to grab all of the chests on this floor. You will obtain from the chest on this floor, in no particular order, a MORNING STAR, a MEDICAL HERB, 760 GOLD PIECES, and an IRON SPEAR. Now go back down those stairs you came in from (actually, they're not the same stairs, but there in about the same spot). The ship will be down here. Enter the ship, and take the path north. You reach a little area of dry land, and 2 treasure chests. However, they are empty. If you talk to the man right there, he'll tell you that water came flooding down through the ceiling just a moment ago, and that he almost drowned. He said that he survived, and grabbed all of the treasure chests. There are still treasures on this floor. To be exact, there are 2 treasure chests, and they contain a BROAD SWORD, and HALF PLATE ARMOR. When you've grabbed them, follow that long waterway to about the middle, then take the path branching off north. That'll take you to a piece of dry land with a bunch of statues surrounding it, and some stairs leading down. Take the stairs. From here, just head north and you'll find what you came for, in a chest. Open it and you'll obtain the SILVER STATUETTE. It's not exactly a statue like everyone says, but it'll still fetch a fancy price. Now get out of this cave, and head back to Endor! --------ENDOR-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 13 Remember the man who wanted the Silver Statue, no matter what it cost? Well, go back to that man's house, and talk to him. He'll offer to buy it for 25000 gold pieces. Now you should have enough money to go buy that shop from the old man. If you don't, go back and fight for the remaining amount of gold, and selling equipment you get from battle. When you have the money, go buy the shop, and Taloon will call for his family. Now you finally own a shop. You can sell any merchandise you stock your store with for lots of money. After a day, some of the stuff will be sold, and you can get the profits by talking to your wife, Neta. Now that you have opened a shop, go report to the King. He'll make an order from you, and he wants 7 Broad Swords and 7 suits of Half Plate Armor. Quite a load. You can give any of the Broad Swords or Half Plate Armors to the 2 people sitting in that room in the upper righthand corner on the first floor of the Castle. There are 2 ways to do this, and you can do it whatever way you want. You can either buy the 7 Broad Swords and 7 suits of Half Plate Armor (using the money you can make from your new shop), or you can go find them from fighting monsters. It doesn't matter which way you choose to do this, you'll get the same result. When you are finished doing this, you will be paid 60000 gold pieces, enough money to finish the tunnel. Head to the tunnel. --------TUNNEL BETWEEN ENDOR AND BRANCA-------- PARTY'S LEVEL: 13 Pay the old man. chest containing a WING OF WYVERN.

Turn around out of this room, and keep going right along the
path until you reach the end of it, then go into that room at the end.
Step on the weird looking tile, and you'll go down. It's an elevator!

Once you get off this elevator, go down, then keep heading left,
past the little body of water, and left into that room. Take that
elevator going down.

From the elevator, head right all the way towards the wall, then
go down, then west across the bridge. You'll find 2 things: a chest
containing a LAMP OF DARKNESS, but more importantly, a new party member,
Orin. Talk to him, and he'll join your party. Now head back up that
elevator.

Get out of the elevator room, and go south past the little body
of water, then take a left, and keep following it until you reach the
end, which has a chest containing 240 GOLD PIECES.

Now take the path back, and go right this time, then south, and
then take the first right, which will lead to a small room with a chest
containing some LIFEFORCE NUTS for the taking.

Go back out of this room, and continue heading south along the
path until you reach another elevator.

Get off the elevator via the southern path, and follow it right,
then up to yet another elevator (too many elevators). Take it down
another level.

Take the north path out of the elevator, and follow the path
until you reach a chest. It has the SPHERE OF SILENCE. Now we're done,
so head out of here. That wasn't so bad, was it?

Now that you have Orin, you can go to Keeleon. If you remember,

of water, and take the chest. It contains some SILVER TAROT CARDS.

Turn back around, and go take the right you ignored before, and
keep going until you see a ladder leading down. Go down that ladder.

Go north, ignore the first left you see, and keep going north

you see another fork in the path. Go right, and take the ladder going
down.

Down here, you'll find 2 miners, and a chest. Take the chest,
it contains what we came for, a GUNPOWDER JAR. The miners say that it's

so let him kill you.

You start off in a small, nameless village in the mountains.
You are finally controlling the Hero (the one who you registered a name
for before you started Chapter 1).

You are sitting at a table, and your mother tells you to take a
lunch (which she gives you) to your father at the pond.

After you give the lunch to your father, go back to your mother,
and she'll begin to make your lunch. However, as soon as she begins to
make your lunch, you'll be informed that monsters have found the
village, and the villagers proceed to hide you.

You find out many things as you get hidden away in the cellar. Your
friend, Celia, saves your life by casting Transform, and sacrificing
herself. After that, you can exit the cellar, but take the MEDICAL HERB
from the 2nd jar on the left, in the first row.

You'll find out that your village is totally destroyed. Before
you leave the village, search the spot where Celia was before she died
to find a FEATHER HAT (it's where she was laying before you were hidden
in the cellar). You cannot equip this, so it'll make you a good deal of
money when you get to sell it. Now head out, and go south until you
come to a Woodman's Shack.

-LUNCH: In the room behind Hector, located in a chest.

WHAT YOU FIND OUT
-----------------

-You'll find a man there who owns a wagon. You need a wagon to
cross the desert, but he won't let you borrow the wagon because he
doesn't trust anyone.

-The Innkeeper, the man's father, will tell you that the wagon's
owner did not trust anyone after coming back from an eastern cave. He
wonders what happened.

-Konenber, a port town, is south of the desert.

Now, fight around until you have enough money to buy everyone
the best equipment to date. The Hero should be at level 10 by then.
When you're ready, head east from Branca until you reach the Cave of
Betrayal.

--------CAVE OF BETRAYAL--------
PARTY'S LEVEL: 10
ITEMS TO BE FOUND: SYMBOL OF FAITH

There's not much to this place, and there are no random enemy
encounters! Keep following the snaking hallway, through the door (all
doors in this cave require 3 people to break them open) and keep going.
You'll get to a point where Nara and Mara fall down into a hole, and
you're trapped by doors, except for some stairs leading down. Go down
the stairs.

When you've gone down the stairs, you'll see Nara and Mara, and
as you approach them, they run off. Go after them, and when you talk to
them, you find out it's not them, but 2 Licklicks. Defeat them (not
hard if you're properly equipped), and you'll fall down another hole.

Now you're down in another room, and you'll see Nara and Mara
being chased by some monsters. However, they are imposters, and whether
you try to go up the stairs, or you talk to Mara and Nara, you'll have
to fight 2 Vampire Bat and 2 Tricksy Urchins. Defeat them and you get
922 experience points! That battle was so easy, I didn't even consider
it a boss battle. Now go up the stairs.

Go down the next ones, then head south, and you'll see Nara and
Mara, yet again. This time, they're the real ones. After they rejoin
you, go up those stairs on the right you see.

Go south, turn left, then go south again, and head up the
stairs. You're back where you were when Nara and Mara disappeared,
except this time, you can continue going south. Keep going, and you'll
reach some stairs going down.

Go down the stairs up see again, and you'll be in a room with 9
breakable doors. When you break the right one, you'll find a chest. In
it is the SYMBOL OF FAITH. Maybe this will restore some faith back in
Hector? You have to walk to get out of this cave, Outside doesn't seem
to work.

Once outside, head back to the Desert Inn.

-A ghost appears in the graveyard at night. When you go back
and visit there, it's a ghost of Ruvas, and he tells you the armor he
wore was called Zenithian Armor, and that someone stole it. Someone
else in town also suspected that as well.

-Taloon stopped by this town. He had lots of money, and wanted
to buy a ship.

Also take the tour when you first enter town, it's rather
amusing.

That's all there is to do here, so it's time to head out, and go

WHAT YOU FIND OUT
-----------------

-Taloon is making a ship, and plans on sailing the world to find
legendary weapons. Maybe if we became friends with him...

-Nothing can sail out of the port because monsters have invaded
the lighthouse to east, and are sinking any ships that leave the port.

-The Princess of Santeem (Alena) and her escorts (Brey and
Cristo) were here. They went and sailed south of here, and were looking
for a man called Necrosaro.

-Taloon also left this town and went to the eastern lighthouse
to destroy the monsters.

-Small Medals can be exchanged for items.

Looks like we need to go to the lighthouse before we can advance
anywhere in our quest. Head east to the Great Lighthouse when you are
ready. The Hero should be at level 12 before you advance to the Great
Lighthouse.

--------GREAT LIGHTHOUSE--------
PARTY'S LEVEL: 12
ITEMS TO BE FOUND: MAGIC POTION, STRENGTH SEED, FULL MOON HERB,
BOOMERANG, FIRE OF SERENITY

When you enter, go through the door, and go around the center of
the room, towards the north, and you'll see Taloon. He'll come up to
you and basically tell you that you need to use the Fire of Serenity to
extinguish the Evil Fire in this place. What are you waiting for? Go
up those stairs!

You're now in a room with many corridors to take, so start off
with the second one on the left. Follow it, go south into the room, and
up the stairs. You'll be in a corridor, so follow it north until you
come to a chest containg a MAGIC POTION.

Turn back around, and from the stairs you started the second
floor at, and take the second corridor on the right, and keep following
it until you come to chest at the end containing a STRENGTH SEED.

Again, go back to the stairs that took you to this floor, and
from those stairs, go south and up the next flight of stairs.

Go around the long pit, and head south out of this room (you can
take the west path, and you'll see a funny little scene with a monster
trying to use Return inside), and follow the path, and keep going north
until you can choose to go left or right. Go right first, and you'll
come to a chest containg a FULL MOON HERB (not particularly useful).
Now turn around, and take the left path.

Take the path left, and you'll see some stairs leading up.
Ignore them for now, and keep heading left, then south and you'll come
to 2 treasure chests. The one on the right contains a BOOMERANG, but
the one on the left is a Man-Eater Chest. Now go back to those stairs,
and take them up.

When you get up to the next floor, take the contents of the
chest directly south of you, within plain view. It holds the FIRE OF
SERENITY.
Now take the northeastern most stairs leading up.

From here, you'll be in the room with the Evil Fire, and some
monsters dancing around it. When you approach them, a fight will begin!

--------BOSS--------
Flamer x 2
HP: 75
Lighthouse Bengal
HP: 70

This isn't too hard of a fight. If you set the Tactics to
normal, everything will take care of itself. Just focus on the Flamers
first, healing if necessary, then take out the Lighthouse Bengal. You
get 2220 experience points for winning, a just reward for your efforts!

Now use the Fire of Serenity on the Evil Fire, and everything is
back to normal. Now cast Outside, and go back to Konenber.

head south first, to the town of Mintos. He says an old man has a
valuable map there. Head south, and you'll come to the town of Mintos.

he can't get in due to monsters.

That's where we need to go. Make sure you upgrade your

Padequia. Make sure the Hero is at level 14 before you go.

---------CAVE OF PADEQUIA-------
PARTY'S LEVEL: 14
ITEMS TO BE FOUND: AGILITY SEED, MYSTIC ACORNS, ROBE OF SERENITY, 800
GOLD PIECES, PADEQUIA SEED

Follow the path as you enter, and you'll see a chest surrounded
by arrows. These arrows take you the direction they point (and they're
all over the cave), so be careful when you step on one. In this case,
take the arrow south of the chest, and you'll be able to open it and
take the AGILITY SEED inside. Now use the arrows to the right of the
chest, and continue walking along the path, and go down the stairs you
find at the end.

From the stairs, go northwest until you come to a set of arrows.
Take the one on the left, and you'll come to a treasure chest with some
MYSTIC ACORNS. Hop on the arrows to the right of the chest, and you'll
be in another room with a set of arrows to the south leading out. Take
the one on the left first. That will take you to another set of arrows
on the left, so take the arrow on the left, and get off. Now head
north, then west, and you'll come to a door. Open it, and on the other
side is a chest with a ROBE OF SERENITY.

Go south from the chest, and take the arrows on the left, and then
go west, to the next set of arrows, and take the one on the right.
We're going in a big circle, but there's one more chest to get before we
get what we came for. When you come to the room with another set of
arrows to the south leading out, take the left one again, then go left
to the next set of arrows, and take the left one again. Now go north
from here, and take the arrows leading right between the 2 frozen
fountains. This will take you to that chest we went by twice, and
inside is 800 GOLD PIECES. Now hop on the arrows to the right of the
chest. We're back in the room with the set of arrows leading out south
again. Take the left one leading south out of the room, and now walk on
the path leading east, then south and you'll come to some stairs leading
down. Take them down.

You're in the basement, and the chest you need to open is
surrounded by a whole lot of arrows. First, go all the way to the north
end of the room as you can. Now take the arrow farthest to the right,
then go west and take the 3rd arrow from the right. The chest to your
south is a Man-Eater Chest, so ignore it, and take the 4th arrow on the
bottom in that first row, and you'll land on the chest, which contains
the PADEQUIA SEED. Now you can cast Outside, and go back to Soretta.

However, you don't learn anything valuable, day or night, in
Monbaraba. The only thing remotely useful that we find out is Panon, an
extremely funny jester, is providing entertainment to the people here.
Remember him, he'll be important later.

You do hear something interesing. There is suppossedly an
island in the east rimmed with rocks and mountains, and on that island,
there's a castle of monsters there.

Now head to the Cave West of Kievs. You need to be at level 16
before you go. When're you ready, go to the cave.

--------CAVE WEST OF KIEVS--------
PARTY'S LEVEL: 16
ITEMS TO BE FOUND: SMALL MEDAL, MAGIC KEY
SMALL MEDAL COUNT: 5

You might be asking yourself where in the world would a secret
laboratory in this cave be? Remember the man in this cave who couldn't
find a way downstairs? He tells you that the mechanism is located under
a treasure chest. The problem is, which one?

That's easy. Go to the chest that held the Lamp of Darkness
(it's also the one you found Orin by). Search the empty chest, and push
the button. Some stairs will appear. Go down them.

You're now in Edgar's secret laboratory. Search the jar on the
left for a SMALL MEDAL, and the chest contains the MAGIC KEY. Now cast
Outside, and get out of here.

You can go to Keeleon now. Everyone's levels should be evening
out by now, so makes sure everyone is around 18 before you go, and
everyone is upgraded equipment wise. When you're ready, head to
Keeleon.

---------KEELEON CASTLE--------
PARTY'S LEVEL: 18

The first thing you should do is head to the secret throne room.
You'll see Ragnar escorted by 2 soldiers into the King's room, however,
he dispatchs them and quickly leads you to Keeleon, where he proceeds to
tell you to take care of him, while he distracts the guards. Talk to
Keeleon, and a fight will begin!

--------BOSS--------
Keeleon
HP: 400

Keeleon is not hard if you know what to do. Set the Tactics to
Normal or Offensive, and depending on who you have, they'll do different
things. Cristo is especially useful in this battle, as he'll use
Stopspell and Surround, both which will work. Mara is VERY useful is
she knows Blazemore, which can shave off 80 HP everytime she uses it.
Taloon and Alena can fight effectively, and Brey will cast Snowstorm.
Nara will attack and heal. If you're properly equipped, and you're
levels are right, you'll blow right through this battle, just heal when
neccessary, and this fight is yours! 5100 experience points is your
great reward, which should boost most, if not all, of people in your
party a level. Keeleon is surprised he was defeated, and thought
Necrosaro destroyed the Hero. Necrosaro isn't a nice man, is he?

Ragnar will join your party, and you're pretty much done with
Keeleon. Just talk to the people before you leave.

WHAT YOU FIND OUT
-----------------

-Balzack is at Santeem Castle. Looks like we've got another
monster to take care off.

Make sure you upgrade Ragnar's equipment, and a Meteorite
Armband from the Casino in Endor would help him out nicely, if you can
afford the 4000 coins to get it.

Before going after Balzack, we can pick up a Small Medal. Head
north from Haville to the Old Man's Island.

--------OLD MAN'S ISLAND--------

-SMALL MEDAL: Search the jar on the right for your Small Medal.

The old man really has nothing important to say.

One more thing to do before going after Balzack. We can go back
to Endor to obtain some treasures, and access to a new armor shop. Head
to Endor.

--------ENDOR--------

It also has the highest price tag. You can't afford any right now, but
remember this shop is here. Drop by from time to time when you have the
cash.

ITEM LOCATIONS
--------------

-STRENGTH SEED/MULTI-EDGE SWORD: Head to the Castle, and go
directly behind the stairs leading down to the kitchen, and to the wall.
There's door there. Head up the stairs and jump off the hole in the
wall, and you'll land behind the counter of the new armor store. Now
head down the stairs and grab the chests.

-FEATHER HAT/PINK LEOTARD: Both are in the King's room, at night
only. They are in the tresure chest.

-SMALL MEDAL: Search the third drawer on the right in the King's
room (at night, mind you) for your 7th elusive medal.

        You're now done in Endor.

Now that all 8 Chosen Ones are together, the real journey
begins. The first part of that it to defeat Balzack, who is now at
Santeem Castle.
However, before you do that, there is one more place you should visit
before trying this. Sail southwest of Santeem and you'll come to a
small place called Seaside Village.

WHAT YOU FIND OUT
-----------------

-The Sandglass of Regression is a treausure that can slightly
reverse time. You can undo a wrong move in battle with it, but it's not
essential to have.

-This village possessed the Stone of Drought, and could stop the
flow of a water cascade.

-The ancestor pirates that settled here hid away all the great
treausres they had behind a waterfall somewhere in this world, and
amongst the treasures is the ultimate weapon, the Metal Babble Sword.

ITEM LOCATIONS
--------------
-STONE OF DROUGHT: A tide comes up late each night, submerging
the pirate's grave. If you come back at night, you'll see that, but you
might notice one odd dry spot. Come back during the day, and search
that spot for this item.

-SMALL MEDAL: Search in front of the statue surrounded by
flowers in the middle of town for your prize.

Now we're done, so make sure you're at level 23, and then head to
Santeem Castle.

ITEM LOCATIONS

        -STRENGTH SEED/FLUTE OF UNCOVERING/MAGMA STAFF: Raid Santeem's
treasure room (downstairs with the Magic Key), and the 3 chest contain
these items.

Santeem Castle is now invaded with monsters. Head upstairs, and
you'll see Balzack sitting in a throne. Talk to him, and a fight will
begin!

--------BOSS--------
Balzack
HP: ?

The best way to beat Balzack is just beating him to a pulp as
quickly as possible, as he can attack twice per turn, and use Snowstorm
rather effectively. To do this, use the characters that can inflict the
most damage in the least amount of time. This will probably be Ragnar
amd Alena for fighting, and Mara because she knows Blazemore. Do not
use Cristo in this battle, he will use Beat, which won't work, and he
doesn't get the clue. After carving away at Balzack's HP, having the
Hero heal when neccessary, victory and 6500 experience points will be
your reward.

Balzack is no more, and disappears. Although the monsters don't
disappear, the important thing is Balzack is defeated, and Nara and Mara
got their revenge.

There's one thing left to do here. Go talk to the slime (by
falling out of the hole in the wall in Alena's room). It will tell you
that you should go to Surene to find out about the King's strange
dreams. Well, head to Surene, which is a tiny bit west of Santeem.

attack with it equipped.

WHAT YOU FIND OUT

-You learn some storyline stuff, but the real information that

people of Stancia, in the northern sea, can tell you about Zenithian

clouds. Also, whoever gets the Zenithian Sword, Armor, Shield, and
Helmet will be allowed into Zenithian Castle.

-Panon, a jester, is really funny and may be able to make the
King laugh (we met him in Monbaraba).

-The Zenithian Shield was once at Burland Castle.

Dragon, we'll want to go to Burland to find out if they still have the
Zenithian Shield. Panon will leave the party as soon as you go outside,
but nonetheless, go to Burland (use your map if neccessary). Burland is

the Queen of Gardenbur, in the heart of the eastern mountains. There
use to be a cave leading there, but a volcanic eruption closed the cave.
If you have the Magma Staff, you're told you can melt a path through.
Luckily for us, we already possess the Magma Staff, so we can go to

This is not just a dream, the places and people are very real, but we'll
find out much later.

We've got one more detour before we head to Gardenbur, and it's
one worth taking. Sail to the northeast corner of the map, and you'll
find a shrine on a little island. Inside is a King who collects Small
Medals and you can exchange them for items. There are 32 medals
scattered around the world, and unless you've been an unattenative

The Staff of Punishment is a mediocre weapon that really has no
use (+35 attack power). This Hat of Happiness is the best helmet in the
game for Mara and Brey, and it recovers MP as you walk (+15 defense).
The Metal Babble Helm is the most powerful helmet in the entire game
(+50 defense), although it's a bit pricy. The Sword of Miracles is a
very powerful sword, it gives you +100 attack power, and recovers HP
everytime it hits a target. You should pick one of those up now.
Whenever you get Small Medals, you should bring them back here.

WHAT YOU FIND OUT
-----------------

-You might have noticed the cave you passed on the way here. A
man staying at the Inn said he suspects the Zenithian Armor is in the
cave just north of here. We'll go back for that later, we're not quite
ready yet.

Now it's finally time to head to Gardenbur. Sail east of Izmit,
and as soon as you hit new land, get off the ship and walk east, then
south around the lake, and keep heading south, and then you'll come to a
tiny path leading north, and you'll see a Castle, but there's one
mountain standing in the way. Use the Magma Staff on the mountain, and

you'll find this poweful weapon for Alena.

-AGILITY SEED: In the small room to the right of the Queen,
search the 3rd drawer on the right.

WHAT YOU FIND OUT
-----------------

-The Queen's grandmother received the Zenithian Shield from the
King of Burland.

Now, go downstairs, and enter a room near the mideastern part of
the Castle (if you haven't done so already). You see someone telling
you to search the drawer he's standing in front of, and he runs out.
The drawer contains nothing, but when you walk out, you're accused of
stealing the Bronze Amulet, which you didn't do. You'll be put in jail.

Shortly after, you'll go speak with the Queen. She'll give you
a chance to catch the real thief. Someone however, is held as hostage.
You must choose 1 character you're not going to use to put in jail until
you prove you're not guilty.

You don't have any clue where the thief may be. A woman in the
kitchen says if she was a thief, she'd hide in a cave. Well, there
happens to be a cave south of here...

Now you're ready to go. Heal up, and take a 4 person party to
the Cave South of Gardenbur. Make sure you're at about level 24.

--------CAVE SOUTH OF GARDENBUR--------
PARTY'S LEVEL: 24
ITEMS TO BE FOUND: SMALL MEDAL, AGILITY SEED, 1200 GOLD PIECES, STRENGTH
SEED, DRAGON SHIELD, IRON MASK
SMALL MEDAL COUNT: 12

Start off by going south, then going left, following the path
around, heading down that ladder, and go south until you hit an
intersection. First, go right, and follow it all the way until you hit
a chest containing a SMALL MEDAL.

Go back to the intersection, and go left this time. Take that
one all the way north, then east until you hit another fork, with a path
leading south, and another one leading east. Go south, around the chest
you got earlier, and you'll come to spot with a ladder leading south,
another one leading north, and to the right of the north ladder is a
path leading up.

First, take the path to the right of the ladder leading north,
and you'll come to a chest containing an AGILITY SEED. Now go back, and
take the ladder leading north, and follow it around until you come to
another 3 way fork. Go right first, then down the ladder, and you can
get the chest up on that ledge. It contains 1200 GOLD PIECES. Now go
back to the fork, and go south. Keep following it, and you'll come to
some stairs leading down. Go down them.

Take the ladder on the left leading down, and go west past the
chest up on the ledge you see, and then head south, then north and
you'll be able to get it. It holds a STRENGTH SEED. Now turn back
around, and take the first right you see, then head south down both
ladders, and you'll come to yet another fork. First, go up that ladder
you see, then head west, and take the first ladder you see up to the
ledge, go left, and back down the ladder, and head far south, and you'll
come to a chest contain a DRAGON SHIELD. The Hero and Ragnar can both
use this, but I would give it to Ragnar if he's in the party.

From the chest, head far north (ignoring the ladder that brought
you here) and you'll come to another chest, which holds an IRON MASK.

Now go back to that original intersection, and you'll want to
head south, but before you do, I would suggest leaving the cave to heal,
saving, and then coming back when you're fresh (you'll see why soon). I
also suggest bringing the 4 characters that can do the most damage,
you'll need them.

Now go south, and up the ladder you see, head west, and go up
the first ladder you see, then go back down the 2 ladders you see
leading south, and follow the path and you'll come to some stairs
leading down.

This will lead you to a room with some jars, and the thief
laying down. He has the Bronze Amulet against his chest, and when you
talk to him, he'll start running. When you catch him, talk to him and a
fight will begin!

--------BOSS--------
Bakor
HP: 1000

The best way to beat Bakor is the same way you beat Balzack,
slice up his HPs, and fast to minimize damage recieved. If anyone has
the Sword of Lethargy equipped (you should), he'll be put to sleep a
lot. Again, Cristo is bad to have in this battle, he MIGHT cast
Stopspell, but he'll keep using Beat, so don't bring him. The Hero,
Ragnar, Alena, and Mara would do best here. Mara will carve away his HP
with Blazemore, and the other 3 can easily damage him with regular
attacks. Winning will get you 7400 experience points and an AGILITY
SEED.

One of the Queen's guards will come and take Bakor away, and
you're instructed to return to the Castle. Cast Outside, and get out of
here!

ITEMS TO BE FOUND: FINAL KEY, ZENITHIAN SHIELD

When you arrive at the Castle, go talk to the Queen. She'll
give you the FINAL KEY, and tell you to free your companion, and to take
the Zenithian Shield from the basement. She also says that monsters use
to live south of here in Rosaville, and that you should go there.

First, free your companion, and go to the basement and take the
ZENITHIAN SHIELD. Now that we have the Final Key, we can go back and
open up all of the locked jail doors we couldn't earlier. It's time to
go treasure hunting.

Here's a list of the places you should go, and what you'll get
there.

The one striking thing about this place is the tower in the
northwestern part of town. It's the tower from the dream you had at
Izmit. Go the the spot were Saro was in the dream, and use the Flute of
Uncovering. Some stairs will appear. Go down them.

Proceed up the tower, and you'll see knight standing in the
hallway. Talk to him, and a fight will begin!

--------BOSS--------
Saroknight
HP: 800

Saroknight is not hard. The only thing he can do is call for
help, and use the Sphere of Silence to block your spells. Just do what
you normally do to defeat a boss, go all out, and even if your spells
get blocked, just keep hacking away and Saroknights 800 or so HPs will
be gone faster than you think (which is hopefully pretty fast). You get
6800 (plus a bit more from summoned help) and a SPHERE OF SILENCE as
your reward.

When you talk to Rosa, she tells you a lot. Saro is really
Necrosaro, and he is the leader of the monsters, who intends to destroy
the world. She wants Necrosaro stopped at all costs. The slime also
tells you that the Staff of Transform, which is in a Royal Crypt on a
cape southwest of Endor, could help you sneak into the monster's Castle.

Before we go after the Staff of Transform, we've got some odds
and ends to tie up first. There are two places we needed to visit, but
we weren't ready to when we found out about them. The first place is
the Shrine of Breaking Waves, which is north of the Small Medal King.
We heard the Zenithian Armor is in there, and we need that armor. Raise
your levels to about level 27 and head to that cave!

--------SHRINE OF BREAKING WAVES--------
PARTY'S LEVEL: 27
ITEMS TO BE FOUND: SMALL MEDAL x 2, ZENITHIAN ARMOR
SMALL MEDAL COUNT: 17

You will be able to navigate most of this cave by ship, and your
wagon is with you, so you'll have the advantage of having all 8 party
members with you.

Start off by opening the door, and sailing your ship east, and
then you'll come to a waterway heading north, and you'll find short,
little hallways leading east and west into darkness, seperated by rocks.
Take the 4th hallway leading left, and you'll come to a chest with a
SMALL MEDAL.

Get back on your ship, and continue heading north, then east,
and eventually, you'll find yourself in room with lots of rocks sticking
out of the water in a poor attempt to make a maze, but it's easy, so
navigate yourself west out of this room, then head south, and you'll see
some stairs on dry land leading down. Take them.

You'll be in a room with 2 chests, one containing another SMALL
MEDAL, and the other one containing the ZENITHIAN ARMOR, which is what
we came for. Now cast Outside, and get out of here.

There's only one thing left we have to do before heading to the
Royal Crypt. Directly south of the Small Medal King, there is a land
mass, and at the southwestern end, there's another cave. It's the one
that the pirates from Seaside Village hid all their treasures in. It's
the Cascade Cave. Heal up, and at level 28, head there.

--------CASCADE CAVE--------
PARTY'S LEVEL: 28
ITEMS TO BE FOUND: SANDGLASS OF REGRESSION, SMALL MEDAL, MASK OF
CORRUPTION, 1040 GOLD PIECES, METAL BABBLE SWORD
SMALL MEDAL COUNT: 18

Head north when you enter, and you'll see an odd looking spot on
the huge waterfall. Use the Stone of Drought, and you'll be able to
enter.

As soon as you enter, you'll see a door, and a chest on the
other side. Open the door, and open the chest. You'll find the
SANDGLASS OF REGRESSION. This item will reverse a battle one round, but
only once. I never found this item too particularly useful.

Head north from the chest, and you come to a door that requires
the Final Key. Open it, and head down the stairs.

Now head north, and when you come to your first fork, head south
and you'll come to another fork. This time, head north, and you'll come
to a chest containing another SMALL MEDAL to add to your collection.

Turn back around, and head south from the fork, and keep
following the path west, then north, then west, and continue on the path
until you come to some stairs leading down. Take them.

From the stairs, go south and eventually you'll come to a chest
containing the MASK OF CORRUPTION, which is cursed...

Go back to the stairs that lead you to this floor, and go east
and down the miniature stairs, and you come to a fork. First, go south
and you'll come to a chest which holds 1040 GOLD PIECES for a new owner.

Turn back around and head north, follow the path east, and south
until you come to another fork. Take the path on the far right, and
keep following it all the way around until you come to some stairs
leading down. Go down them.

These stairs take you to the bottom floor. Head south, and
you'll come to a chest containing the ultimate weapon, the METAL BABBLE
SWORD, which gives you +130 attack power. Wow! What a great find!

Now use Outside, head to Endor, heal and save. Sail your ship
to the end of the cape south of Endor, and you'll find what looks like
shrine. This is the Royal Crypt. When you're at level 29, head inside.

--------ROYAL CRYPT--------

SMALL MEDAL COUNT: 19

Head north, into that little building with a yellow door on it.
Inside, open up any of the jail doors, and head north towards the back
of the building, and down some stairs. You're now in the Royal Crypt.

From here, go north (it's the only way you can go), take those
arrows leading up, and you be taken to some stairs leading down. Go
down them.

Go east from here along the arrows, and you'll be taken to some
more stairs leading down. Go down these stairs.

From the stairs, hop on the arrows, and they'll take you north
to a chest containing the STAFF OF ANTIMAGIC.

Now go west, (if you go east, you'll be taken to a travel door
that leads you right back to the beginning) and head south along the
snaking corridor until you reach your first right. Take it, and go
north, carefully not stepping on the arrows. Head left into a room, and
it has a chest containing a SMALL MEDAL for the taking.

Now turn back around, and keep heading south along the corridor,
then going east, then head north until you come to a fork. Take the
path on the right, take follow it up, and you'll be taken to some stairs
leading up. Go up them.

From the stairs, go left and then up into the first room you
see. There's a healing tile in there you might want to use.

Now go back out of this room, and head south until you come back
to the stairs surrounded by the arrows that you took earlier. Head
south around the arrows, then west into a room with some stairs leading
up. Take them.

From the stairs, head west, ignoring the path leading north, and
into the path. Heading south down the corridor, then east out of it.
You'll see some arrows leading east a little ways in front of you.
However, don't take them. Head south, then east and you'll come to a
chest containing what we came here for, the STAFF OF TRANSFORM. Now
cast Outside, and we're outta here!

Now that we have the Staff of Transform, we can sneak into the
monster's Castle. We know that there is an island rimmed with mountains
to the east of Monbaraba, and supposedly there is a Castle full of
monsters on that island. So, head east of Monbaraba until you get to
that island.

At first, it appears there is no way to get on the island, but
you'll find a river heading inward on the north part of the island, and
branching off to the left, and right. Sail south down the right side,
and you'll come into a town called Riverton.

-They make flying vessels here, but the maker needs a gas
lighter than air. Someone also comments that the Ruler of Evil stole
the vital component to the flying vessel, and that it was probably
buried with him. That gas was also kept in a sturdy canister.

-The monster's castle is on this island, but no one has ever
returned from it.

-A woman also says she saw the giant statue upstream walk. This
will come in handy very soon.

Since you're done here for now, it's time to investigate that
statue the woman saw walking upstream. Heading south out of Riverton,

Turn back around, and go east from the stairs, then north up the

Go west, south, and then east until you reach a fork. First go
east, then south to reach a chest which holds an AGILITY SEED.

Head back to the fork, and this time go south. Keep following
the path until you come to some stairs leading up. Take them.

From here, go all the way east to the other side of the room,
and take the stairs leading up. Go south out of this room, and you'll
come to a chest with a DEMON HAMMER, which is cursed...

Go back down the stairs, and up and left, and you'll find a door
leading into this big room you walked around. Now head up the stairs
you see.

Follow the path from the stairs until you reach more stairs, and
take them up. You can grab the chest behind it if you want, however,
the chest is a Mimic...

You're in a room with two paths leading out. Take the one on
the far left to proceed. The right one will take you back to the chest
you got the Demon Hammer out of, and you don't want to go there...

Go into the door you see, and head up the stairs you see. This
will take you to some more stairs, so take those up.

You're now at the top of the statue. Move the levers, and the
Colossus begins to move! Hop off, and you're on the other side of that
water. Now, head east, and you'll find the Dire Palace, where the
monsters live.

WHAT YOU FIND OUT
-----------------

Unless you use the Staff of Transform in this place, all of the
monsters you talk to will attack you. Wouldn't it be a good idea to use
the staff?

Now that you've done that, it's time to catch some local gossip.
Assume the shapes of the monsters by using the Staff of Transform until
you're a monster, and talk to everyone. You find out some pretty
interesting things.

-Esturk, the Ruler of Evil, was imprisoned underground by the
celestial master when he reached the final phase of evolution.

-Humans used to fly in balloons.

There's a meeting on the second floor. The monster says to
hurry, so get up there. When you go upstairs, go to the meeting room
(it's in the southwest corner of the room). This is when the real fun
starts, because Necrosaro is going to make an appearance. No, you don't
get to fight him, but you get to see what he finally looks like!

You're told where your seat is, and when you sit there,
Necrosaro arrives. He says that something terrible has happened at
Aktemto (the mining town). Esturk, the Ruler of Evil, has revived. He
goes on to say how men dug too deep, and came to the Evil World. He
says they must go get Esturk the Great and bring him to the Castle.

I guess we'd better go stop them, so heal up, save, and head to
Aktemto. If you're not at level 32 yet, make sure you're up there
before heading to Aktemto.

--------AKTEMTO--------

This town is not doing good at all anymore, but there's no need
to worry about that. Head down into the mine.

The new part of the maze/mine starts where you found the
Gunpowder Jar in Chapter 4. Make your way there, and go north, and then
go left. Keep following the path and take the first right you see.
You'll come to another fork, and this time, go north and take the next
right you see. This will take you to a ladder leading down. Go down
it.

Take the first path you see leading north. From here, go right
toward the water, and search the ground. You will find a SMALL MEDAL.
Now, turn around and go north, and you'll come to an opening in the
wall, and a corpse. Go through that opening and you'll be amazed at
what you see. An underground castle!

First, go north into that little room. You'll be relieved to
know that there's a healing tile in there. Use it, get out, and head
east from that little room until you come to the entrance of the castle.

Start of by going north, and through the door you see. You come
to a hallway. There are 2 chests behind doors in plain sight as you
enter. The first chest contains a SMALL MEDAL, but the second one is a
Mimic. Keep going west down the hallway, and you'll come to another
chest containing 2480 GOLD PIECES. Head south, and at the end of the
hallway, you'll find 2 more chests. They contain an AGILITY SEED, and a
STRENGTH SEED. Now go up the stairs you see.

From the stairs, go north, and then east, past the stairs
leading up, and go south. You'll find some stairs leading down. Go
down them.

Go north, then left, and raid the first treasure room. The
chest on the left contains another SMALL MEDAL, but the one on the right
is another Mimic. Don't bother trying to get the chest behind that
skeleton, you can't, yet. Just head north, around this chest, and west
out of this room. Follow the hallway, at take the stairs at the end.
Go immediately up the stairs you see again, and you'll be in Esturk's
thorne room.

Some monsters block the way. They tell you to leave. Sure...we
won't! Tell them no, and a fight with a Rhinoking, and a Bengal begins.
Dispatch them, and walk up to Esturk. The fight will begin!

HP: ?

The Ruler of Evil. The big fight. It's not the last, and it's
one of the easiest battles you've faced.. Just carve away at his HPs as
rapidly as you can, and he'll be toast. What makes this battle even
easier is he starts off asleep. Sometimes you can kill him before he
even wakes up. If you have Mara, her Blazemost spell will help, taking
away 180 HP each time. Just plug away, and if you're at least at level
32, he'll gone in no time. You get 15000 experience points for the
battle.

Necrosaro appears after the battle, and is puzzled to find out
that the Ruler of Evil was destroyed. He then hears that Rosa was
abducted by humans. They take off.

You can leave too, but before you do, go back to that chest that
was being guarded by the skeleton. You can now take it, and it contains
the GAS CANISTER, the final component to completing the flying vessel.
However, you can't cast Outside...you must...walk out of the dungeon?
That's unheard of! Actually, once you get back into the mine, you can
cast Outside. Head back to Riverton.

-Note: You can get unlimited LEAF OF THE WORLD tree. Just
search any spot that's a leaf, and you'll get one. However, you cannot
hold more than one at a time.

Start off by going north, past the path leading east, and up the
first ladder you see. Then heard northwest, out onto the branches, and
grab the chest. It contains a STAFF OF HEALING, and incredibly useful
item.

Now, head back down that ladder, and take the path leading east
that you ignored before, then head north until you come to the next
ladder leading up. Go up it.

From the ladder, head east, and then south, and keep following
the path until you come to the next ladder going up. Climb it.

Go south from the ladder, and go up the next one. This will
take you to a chest containing DEW OF THE WORLD TREE. This item will
fully restore everyone's HP, but only once.

Now go back to the previous floor, and go north from the ladder,
and follow the path all the way around (it's quite long) until you hit
the next ladder going up. Take it up.

Go north, and when you get onto the leaves, go west, and keep
following the path all the way around, staying as close to the tree as
possible. You come to a branch off in the path, one leading southeast,
and the other leading north. Keep heading northeast, and you'll come to
a ladder heading up. Go up it.

From the ladder, take the first path branch leading south, and
you'll find someone standing there. Her name is Lucia, and she is a
Zenithian who pleads for your help. She was collecting leaves, and her
wings were broke in a monster attack. She then asks you to help her
back the Zenithian Castle. Of course! She then says that you need all
of the Zenithian equipment to enter the Castle, and the sword is
somewhere in this tree. Well, let's continue. She joins your party,
and your off!

But off where to? However, it's right nearby. Just go
southeast from this spot, using any of the 2 branches leading south and
east, and you'll come to the chest hold the legendary ZENITHIAN SWORD.
However, it doesn't raise your attack power very much, yet. So, just
stick with your current weapon. Now, leap off the side of the tree, and
you're done!

Now where? There is only one place left to go, and you may have
not even noticed it yet. In the middle of the world, there is a tiny
island surrounded by rocks that you could not access yet. Now that you
have the balloon, you can land here. When you land (the island is
directly west of Konenber), you'll be on another continent, and it's
much bigger than you thought.

Head west from where you land, and you'll come to a town called
Gottside.

WHAT YOU FIND OUT
-----------------

-Esturk was already destoryed by the Hero, but the next Esturk
is about to be born.

-Necrosaro has perfected the Secret of Evolution using the
Golden Bracelet, and will evolve into a horrible being unless stopped.
He is deep underground.

-The tower to Zenithia is rumored to be on this island, but only
those who possess all of the Zenithian gear may enter. Guess we're in
luck.

-There is a cave on the west side of this island that leads to
the World of Darkness.

-Last, but not least, a Zenithian tells you that you must go see
Master Dragon immediately.

I guess it's pretty apparent where we need to go. We need to go
to Zenithia through the tower. Before we head to Zenithian Tower,
there's a shrine east of Gottside to be visited.

--------SHRINE EAST OF GOTTSIDE--------
PARTY'S LEVEL: 35
ITEMS TO BE FOUND: DRESS OF RADIANCE, BARON'S HORN

Inside this shrine are 2 important treasures, the DRESS OF
RADIANCE, powerful armor, and the BARON'S HORN, which will be used later
to call your wagon. Now head south of Gottside to the Zenithian Tower.

--------ZENITHIAN TOWER--------
PARTY'S LEVEL: 35
ITEMS TO BE FOUND: MAGIC POTION, MYSTIC ACORNS, SMALL MEDAL, MYSTERIOUS
BOLERO
SMALL MEDAL COUNT: 28

You must have all of the Zenithian stuff equipped, or you won't
be let in. Once you're in, you can re-equip your other stuff if you had
different armor or weapon.

Start of by going north, and then heading west, and up the
stairs you see. From here, ignore the path leading out south, and go up
the stairs. Then, go up that next flight of stairs, and you'll be taken
to a chest with a MAGIC POTION.

Now, go back to the entrance of the tower, and this time, go
east, and up the first set of stairs you see.

From here, don't go up that ladder yet, but into that first
opening you see into the tower. Inside is a chest containing MYSTIC
ACORNS.

Now, go back out, and north, up those 2 ladders, and back into
the tower. You're now in a room with 3 stairs, one to the left leading
down, one to the northeast leading up, and one to the right lead up.
First, take the ones leading down, and then go back up the next stairs
you see, and you'll come to a chest with another elusive SMALL MEDAL.

Go back down to that room, and take the stairs in the northeast
corner of the room (the ones to the right lead to a dead end). Then,
take the next flight of stairs you see leading up, and then head south
out of the room you're in.

Now go north up tbe ladder, then west, then take the stairs you
see going down (ignore the opening into the tower, it leads to a dead
end).

Follow the path around, but before you head up the stairs, go
south out of the tower, down the ladder, and back into the tower. Keep
following this path until you come to some stairs leading up. They take
you to a chest containing MYSTERIOUS BOLERO. This armor absorbs the MP
from spells that hit the wearer.

Now go back into the tower, and up those stairs you ignored
before. Head up the ladder, and back into the tower. Take the next set
of stairs you see leading up, and then go up the ladder, and into the
tower again.

You're now in a large room. Go east from the entrance, and
follow that path. You'll be taken to a chest containing a DRAGON
SHIELD.

Now go back to where you entered this room from, and head west,
the north, and then south into that little pathway surrounded by
pillars, and head east until you're at the other end. Go south, then up
and around until you come to some stairs going up. Go up them.

Go up the next flight of stairs you see, and north onto the
altar. A cloud will come down, and take you to Zenithian Castle!

--------ZENITHIAN CASTLE--------
ITEMS TO BE FOUND: SMALL MEDAL
SMALL MEDAL COUNT: 29

ITEM LOCATIONS
--------------

-SMALL MEDAL: Go to the hallway where the Zenithian is looking
down at the world from the hole in the floor, and go in the second room.
Now search the 3rd drawer on the right.

Lucia runs off, excited that she's back, and thanks you. Well,
now that's over with. What next?

Head north to the throne room, and you'll find Master Dragon.
He puts his hope in you. He rewards you with 5000 experience points,
and your Zenithian Sword now raises your attack power by 110! He says
the way to the World of Darkness is below the Castle. Before we go, we
should talk to everyone, right?

You don't learn much, but when you find Lucia again, she gives
you Doran, a baby dragon, to take care of. He joins your group, and is
a tremendous help.

Now is time for the big descent to the World of Darkness. To
get there, you must make a dangerous journey through the Final Cave.
Make sure everyone has got their optimum equipment. When you feel you
are ready for the hike, jump down through that hole in the cloud (it's
in the southeast part of the Castle), and you're in front of the cave.
Enter the Final Cave.

--------FINAL CAVE--------
PARTY'S LEVEL: 36
ITEMS TO BE FOUND: DRESS OF RADIANCE, SMALL MEDAL, STAFF OF JUBILATION,
3280 GOLD PIECES, LIFEFORCE NUTS x 3, AGILITY SEED, STRENGTH SEED, WATER
FLYING CLOTHES, MIRROR SHIELD
SMALL MEDAL COUNT: 30

Start off by going north until you hit a door. Open the door,
and behind is a chest containing a DRESS OF RADIANCE for the taking.

From the door, go south back into the room in which you entered
the door from, and go left, out of that room. You're now in a long
hallway. Follow it all the way around until you come to some stairs,
and a fork in the road. Go west at the fork.

You'll be in a room with some arrows to the south of you, and to
the west of you. Take that far right one leading south, and it'll take
you around, and put you near a chest containing a SMALL MEDAL.

Now go north from the chest, and take the arrows leading north
back to the entrance of the room, and leave the way you came.

You're at the fork again, so go south, and all the way around
until you come to another fork that looks the same, but it isn't. Go
west again.

In this room, go around the square divider in the middle, and go
west. You'll be in a little area with a chest by some water containing
a STAFF OF JUBILATION.

Go back into the room with the square divider, and go south out
of that room. Keep following the path, (ignore the chest beyond the
poison marsh, it's a Mimic) until you come to some stairs leading up.
Take them.

From these stairs, head west as close to the wall as you can,
and go south. You'll see a set of arrows. Take the one on the left
hand side, and you land right near a chest containing DEMON ARMOR, which
of course, is cursed (what did you expect?). Go right, and take the
arrows leading to the right (it's pretty apparent which ones they are
when you get close enough). Now go north, and down the stairs you see.

You're now in front of the 4 chests. They contain 3280 GOLD
PIECES, some LIFEFORCE NUTS, an AGILITY SEED, and a STRENGTH SEED. Nice
find. Now head down the next flight of stairs you see.

Now, you're in a large room with a ship in it. First, take ship
north 3 steps, get off the ship, and head to the northwest corner of
this room for some more LIFEFORCE NUTS (you might want to cast StepGuard
before crossing that marsh).

Head back to your ship, and go west until you come to a little
island with some stairs leading down. Go south of here, and there is a
chest between some arrows. Open it for some WATER FLYING CLOTHES. Now
go down those stairs on that little island.

Follow the path and go down the next flight of stairs you see.
Go north, through the door. Now it looks like your inside a building
with red brick floor. Keep following the path until you come to a big
pit, and some stairs on the other side. Fall down the pit first. This
will take you to a treasure chest containing the MIRROR SHIELD, a very
useful shield.

Fall down the pit surrounding the shield, and you'll be in a
room with stairs leading down, and up. First, go back up a floor and
grab that chest you saw in the room with the Mirror Shield. It contains
the 3rd and final LIFEFORCE NUTS in this cave.

Now go back down the stairs you ignored before, and then you're
on the ground floor, and right in front of the entrance to this cave,
which means that you're finally out!

Once your outside, go inside the shrine to your left. This is
called the Final Refuge.

--------FINAL REFUGE--------
PARTY'S LEVEL: 38

The Final Refuge is just that; it's your last place of refuge.
When you approach the Throne, the flame turns into a Zenithian. The
Zenithian tells you that Necrosaro has barriers around his palace, and
his evolution is in progress. You will not be allowed to enter his
palace until your break the barriers. Well, what are we waiting for?
We need to break the barriers!

You can be healed for free here, and save your game (which you
should do immediately). Now, head outside. There are 4 places we must
go to, and it doesn't matter what order we go in. First, head
northwest to the Den of Radimvice.

--------DEN OF RADIMVICE--------
PARTY'S LEVEL: 38
ITEMS TO BE FOUND: ZOMBIE MAIL

First, take the stairs in plain sight. There are now two sets
of stairs, one to the northeast, and one to the southwest. Take the
northeast stairs. Now, head south and you'll come to a chest containing
ZOMBIE MAIL, which as you guessed, is cursed.

Go back down the stairs which brought you here, and take the
stairs in the southwest. Now head north, and go up the next flight of
stairs you see.

Now you're on the top floor. You will see a priest sitting in
the throne. It is one of the barrier guards, Radimvice, the Dark
Priest. Talking to him will start a fight!

--------BOSS--------
Radimvice
HP: 820
Demighoul x 3
HP: 134

You should start off by taking care of the Demighoules first.
Be careful not to cast any spells that hit all enemies, like Lightining,
or Explodet. Radimvice has bounce, so only physical attacks work.
After taking care of the Demighouls, start working on Radimvice.
Radimvice can attack twice per turn, and likes to cast Infermost, but if
you just keep pounding away, he'll be dust in no time. You will get
7974 (maybe more if the Demighoulds split), and 189 (again, more if the
Demighouls split) gold pieces. One of the shields is broken.

Now, head south towards the Den of Anderoug.

--------DEN OF ANDEROUG--------
PARTY'S LEVEL: 38

Just follow the direct path, and you'll be sitting right in
front of Anderoug. Talking will begin a battle!

--------BOSS--------
Anderoug x 3
HP: 300

Although he only has 300 HP, there are 3 of Anderoug, and he can
summon reinforcments whenever one is defeated. Try to spread out your
attacks (certain magic attacks don't work well, but Blazemost,
Beat/Defeat actually work). Anderoug can attack once per turn, but can
only do physical attacks, and emit scorching gas. Just keep pounding
away, and you'll win. You get 1030 experience points and 300 gold for
each Anderoug you had to kill, and another shield is broken.

Now head to the southwest, to the Den of Gigademon (stopping to
heal if you feel the need).

--------DEN OF GIGADEMON--------
PARTY'S LEVEL: 39
ITEMS TO BE FOUND: SMALL MEDAL
SMALL MEDAL COUNT: 31

ITEM LOCATIONS
--------------

SMALL MEDAL: In the spot of marsh that is 1 step north, and 4
steps west of the first flight of stairs going down, so you have to go
all the way around. Cast StepGuard, go to that spot, search, and the
Small Medal is yours.

Get downstairs (you have to go down the first flight of stairs,
and then go back up them, then head down the next flight of stairs).
You will have to get past 5 moving statues. If you touch one, you will
get kicked out. The move back when you move forward, forward when you
move back, and they move with you to the left and right. It's not that
hard to get past them, just force them to move against the circular
stones in the room.

Enter the opening (cast StepGuard before doing so) and head down
the stairs.

Now you're in front of the Gigademon. He'll commend you on
getting this far, and tells you to check the floor behind you. If you
turn around, he'll call you a fool, and the fight will start. If you
talk to him without turing around, he'll say something different, but
the fight will still start. It doesn't matter, there's nothing on the
ground behind you.

--------BOSS--------
Gigademon
HP: 1023

Go all out of this guy. The Hero's Ligthning spell, Blazemost,
etc. Throw all you got at him. He can attack twice per turn, and cast
Defence, but if you use your most powerful attacks, he'll be toast.
You're reward for winning is 4100 experience points, and 250 gold.
Another shield is broken!

One more shield. Head north to the Den of Infurnus Shadow.

--------DEN OF INFURNUS SHADOW--------
PARTY'S LEVEL: 39

A straight shot north will put you right in front of him, and as
you guessed, talking to him will begin another boss fight.

--------BOSS---------
Infurnus Shadow
HP: 950

Another battle to go all out on. He can attack twice per turn,
cast Explodet, emit blizzards, and attack. Keep your HPs high, and this
battle will be your in no time. Killing him will net 5500 experience
points, and he also drops a SWORD OF MIRACLES!

Now that the shield around Necrosaro's Palace is broken, you can
now enter. Head back to the Final Refuge, heal, and save the game.
This is the final dungeon. Head north to Necrosaro's Palace!

--------NECROSARO'S PALACE--------
PARTY'S LEVEL: 40
ITEMS TO BE FOUND: SMALL MEDAL, SAGE'S STONE, LIFEFORCE NUTS, STAFF OF
THUNDER,
SMALL MEDAL COUNT: 32

Start of by heading north, and entering the castle. There are 3
guardian statues in this room. Each one you bump into start a fight
with a Clay Doll. Cast StepGuard, and try to avoid them. Head to the
northeast corner of this room, and exit to the left.

Head south, and keep following the path until you come to some
stairs leading up. Go up them. Now, go south from the stairs, and out
of the castle. Keep following the path, and re-enter the castle. Keep
heading west, then south. You'll have 3 way to go; down some stairs,
down a pit, and up some stairs.

First, either fall down the pit, or go down the stairs. Cast
StepGuard, and head south to a chest, which contains the final SMALL
MEDAL.

Head back upstairs, and go up that flight of stairs leading up
you ignored before. Now head south, and around until you come to an
elevator. Ignore it for now, and head north until you come to some
stairs leading up. Go up them.

Go directly north from the stairs (between the statues, also
casting StepGuard if you please). Follow the path all the way, and
you'll end up outside. Go east, and you'll come to a chest containg the
SAGE'S STONE, an extremely useful item that casts Healus when used as an
item, but only in battle.

Now go back to that original flight of stairs, and head south
from there. Keep following the path, and you'll be lead to 2 treasure
chests. The left one contains some LIFEFORCE NUTS, and the right one
contains a STAFF OF THUNDER.

Time to go back to that elevator we ignored before. Go back
there, and take the elevator. Now head south, then east out of this
room. Now, head north up the next flight of stairs you see.

Head around, and take the elevator back down. Now go back
upstairs, and you can access those stairs leading up that was previously
behind the elevator. Take them up.

Take the next flight of stairs you see going up, then head west
out of the room you're taken to. Head to the southwest of the next
room, and exit out of the castle. Take the next door you see, and
you're out of the castle.

Head north, and enter the mountain looking thing. Also, use the
Baron's Horn to call you wagon. When you head to the top of the
mountain thing, you will see a giant creature. That is Necrosaro. He
doesn't remember anything, but is going to destroy you.

--------FINAL BOSS--------
Necrosaro
HP: 7000

This is the final fight, and it's going to be a tough one.
Necrosaro goes through 7 different forms. MAKE SURE SOMEONE HAS THE
SAGE'S STONE BEFORE YOU ACTUALLY START THIS BATTLE!!!

First form: He can attack twice per turn, and hit pretty hard.
All he can do is physical attacks, but keep your HP high. After 800 HP
of damage is done, he'll lose his first arm.

Second form: He can attack only once per turn, but still hit
hard. Keep your HP high, and after 700-800 more HP is carved up,
he'll lose his second arm.

Third form: He cannot use physical attacks, but can cast
Snowstorm, Firebane, and use sweet breath to put you to sleep. Not too
damaging, but the sweet breath can be a pain, and he can only attack
once per turn. After he loses another 1000 HP, he'll lose his head.

Fourth Form: He gains a new head at the beginning of the first
round. He attacks only once per turn, can use breath a violent blaze,
which is quite damaging, meditate to recover some HP, use freezing waves
to clear your status (take away any effect spells like Increase, Bikill,
etc.) Once he loses about 700-800 HP, he will grow new arms.

Fifth form: He can attack twice per turn, attack twice per
round, hit hard, and emit scorching breath. After doing 700-800 damage,
he'll grow new legs.

Sixth Form: Similar to his previous form, just a tiny bit
stronger. Once he receives 700-800 more damage points, he'll grow a new
head, and transform into the ultimate being.

Seventh Form: His most dangerous form. He casts Bounce as his
first attack. He can attack twice per turn, hitting hard for about 60-
100 damage. He also has can emit an icey gust, and a violent blaze,
which hit all 4 memebers for 90-130 damage. To finally win, you need to
carve up the rest of his 2000-2400 HP. Once you do, victory is yours!

Battle suggestions: Blazemost is the single most useful spell
until his 7th form. Cristo is useful for healing because he has Revive,
so rotate him in there if you need someone revived. Alena, Ragnar, and
Taloon are all good for this battle, since they do pure damage. Nara
and Brey are mediocre, but if Brey casts Bikill, that will help a lot.
You want to do lots of damage quickly, and keep your HP high.

Once you accomplish this, congratulate yourself, because you
have just beaten Dragon Warrior IV. Sit back, and watch the ending.
You should be proud. You have saved the world.
