Section 2: Introduction I am not going to tell you controls/methods of play, they are all in the manual. This FAQ is simply a vague level guide and guide on how to get all the passes, and contains secrets. It also will not tell you very many story details, unless it is a confusing part in the story. You should watch the cut scenes, you know! They are very funny most of the time! By the way, the Japanese version of this game has songs in, like the last one had. These were taken out for the Western release. Appaling, I know. If you think somebody at Konami is lame for deciding this, LET THEM KNOW! LET THE WORLD KNOW! (~ Yes I agree that it's distgusting that Konami have Removed the songs but there you go! Oh and Hello again! It's me Gerimon-Impact again, after coming back from Planet Impact I've decided to help with this walkthrough so hold on tight because this Goemon is one very bumpy ride!~ Gerimon-Impact~) That's right! And you don't wanna go wasting your time by walking everywhere, do you? So, hold 'B' as you run in towns to move VERY fast! Section 3: The Walkthrough! Section 3.1: Edo. The first board, and by far the easiest. Just a taster of what is to come, but great fun nonetheless! Lost'n Road. The easiest stage in the game, so just plough your way through! Watch out, though, as sometimes kappa (small, green water imps) will jump out of the water! Kill them with projectiles, it's easier. Lost'n Town. Head instantly along to the teahouse. There, Sasuke will join you! (You cannot leave the town without him.) It's a good idea to go along to the shop and buy food and armour, as well as stopping off at the inn to save and rest. And now, without delay, let us move on to: Pass 1! Wait until the sun has completely set, and the sky is black. Go back to near where the armour shop is, and go through the alleyway. Keep going right and jump down the well. Talk to Iguana Man for a pass! Now, emerge from the well and head right until you see a door with a different sign by it. Enter, and there should be a woman inside (Goemon's house). Pay her 100 ryou, and 'she' will reveal to be a 'he'! Still shocked, hope not, cause now you have the chain pipe! Now, head back left, until you emerge from the alley. Keep going right until you reach another alleyway, and enter it. You should now be in the house of DJ Beatmania himself! He'll ask a favour of you. Say yes and head to... Lost'n Road. Here are the locations of Beatmania's lost items: Headphones: At the start, swing on the poles up to a higher level. Go right for a bit to get them! Mic: When you get to the rolling rock, push it back left to the edge. Jump on it, and up to a higher level. Head left for a bit to get the mic! LP: To get the LP, just beat the mini boss at the end of the level! Now you should get a pass! You will automatically be in... Lost'n Town. Restock on whatever you need, and head on! Digadig Gold Mine. Beware of the water wheels! When the path splits into up + down, choose up. You will have to fight a mini boss! Hit it round the face whenever it's pale, but when it turns red, hide in the opposite corner to the one it's head moves towards. Also, you may have to dodge the odd fireball. Once you defeat it, head onwards and beat the level! Then, head back to... Lost'n Town. From now on, I'm just gonna assume you head back to town, restock, rest, eat and save when needed. Head back to where Goemon's house is, and enter the houses in that area. In one of the houses, an old man will ask you to get rid of some monsters in Digadig Gold Mine. So, head back there! Digadig Gold Mine. Here are the locations of the seven mudtrotters: 1. Just head right to find it. 2. When the path splits, head down. Keep going to find it. 3. Go back to where the path splits, and head up. Go right for a bit to find it. 4. Head right from number 3. 5. Head right from number 4. 6. Head right from number 5. 7. A big one! Just right of number 6. You will be in Lost'n Town. Head out to... Ringbell Pass. AS the name implies, ring the bells to produce stuff. You will need to use Goemon's chain pipe on the star blocks to proceed. When the path splits, take down unless you fancy making your life more difficult. Just proceed to the end! Edo Checkpoint. Hope you have enough passes! If you have been following the walk, you should have more than enough. I will not be mentioning these from now on. Edo Castle. The first castle, but by no means easy! This is just a taste of what is to come. At the first stamper, go underneath it for an extra life! Keep heading right until you see two star blocks, and destroy them for a GOLD fortune doll! Keep following the obvious paths, and if there are none, SEARCH! Watch out for Impact trying to kill you! After he shoots nasal bullets at you, go left of the elevator for an extra life. When you get to the end and drop on Impact's head, you will face: (~ NOTE FROM GERIMON-IMPACT~ Impact may seem daunting, but he's a sinch to zip past, move slowly to trigger his punch early, then just wait for his fist to move out of the way, also when he attempts to gun you down, move quickly so he can't aim at you as well~) Boss 1: Shishi Scarecrow! Not hard to beat, when you know how. When the searcher targets you, RUN! Or Impact will crush you. When Shishi breaths fire, dodge it, and when it swings a ball and chain around, just jump over it. When it spits balls, however, whack them back at it! Repeat this process to beat the boss, view a cool cut scene, and move on to... Impact Boss 1: Bismaru Elegant! Ok, this is the easiest Impact boss, but brace yourself for challenge and FUN! Quick punch any projectiles it may throw at you, and if your health runs low, throw the baton to the other Impact. Bismaru Elegant has 2 special attacks, one where she imprisons you in a tunnel, and fires loadsa stuff down it, (just punch them away) and one which WILL kill you, so pass the baton quickly to avoid damage! When Bismaru Elegant flies, keep him/her/it (Yes, Bismaru too is a cross dresser! He first appeared in Goemon 3 for the SNES, you know!) in your sights and pray that the other Impact hits it. When it's done, a cool cut scene will ensue. Pat yourself on the back, that's the first board clear! But, there are still four more, increasingly harder ones to go! Section 3.2 - Ryugu A dramatic learning curve from board 1, this board features alternate exits for the first time. Kappa Road. Just progress through this level in a Lost'n Road stlye. Don't worry about the water, just keep going right. Beware, because later there will be moving platforms about! It's best to use Goemon for this level, as his double jump can get you across the trickier sections with the greatest of ease! Frog Mountain. Again, use Goemon. His double jump will help, especially when you have to leap up from the lizard's head. DO NOT GO STRAIGHT OVER THE WATER FEATURE! Instead, ride it up and jump left. This is a very easy path. When you reach the top of the mountain, the level will end. To get another entry pass, VITAL for all 44 and in turn the secrets, just before the path starts circling the pillar, there is a spout emerging from the pillar itself. Wait by it until night is well afoot, and jump up onto it. Go right to meet iguana man again! Talk to him for the pass! Otohime Town. It'll probably be night when you get here, but head straight for the teahouse. There, you will meet Yae! She will come ready with swimming abilities, and Sasuke will get them too in this cut scene. If you can bear not to test out your new character, switch to Ebisumaru. Ecit the teahouse and go right until you get to the third normal house. Inside should be a girl. Talk to her, and introduce yourself. Accept her present, and you now have Ebisumaru's special ability, the solid megaphone! You now have every special ability! Exit her house and head left two houses. Here is Ebisumaru's eternal rival, Obisumaru! He will challenge you to a race! Accept, and head to... Frog Mountain. Ooh, now this is tricky. Whack Obisumaru whenever possible to stun him, and use the solid megaphone for the first jump, and the jump from the lizard's head. Run AS FAST AS YOU CAN and you should get there on time. If not, keep trying. You will automatically be in... Otohime Town. If you have been talking to the residents, you will probably have heard about two large octopi. (What have Konami got about octopi? Ever played the SNES Goemon 4? The towns have LOADS of them! A really freaky one on Planet Impact, but I won't go into that.) Well, here is how to track them down. First, head back to... Kappa Road. Enter as Yae. She is the only one who can kill the octopus. When you get to the first pool of water, dive! Go straight down, and you will see a BIG pot. Keep hitting it with the bazooka, avoiding the ink, until it dies, and leaves behind an entry pass! Then, continue right and then up. You will surface near some chain blocks. DO NOT pull away the Impact block, just keep trying to jump on top of the two. Yae should be able to JUST make it. Now, when the moving platform on your left lowers, leap onto it! Then, a quick jump left will take you to a character change pad. Switch to Goemon. Now, use the chain pipe to bust your way through! Continue right, through more tricky platforming, to the alternate exit! Naruto Road. Head right to the character change, and switch to Yae. Head right and dive! Head down, right, down, left, and continue left to see the octopus. Kill it with the same method as before to get a pass! Now head right, right, right, up and AVOID THE SPIKES!!! Once you surface, keep heading right for the end of the level and a pass! Otohime Town. I know I said I woulden't say it, but REST, BUY, EAT AND SAVE!!! The upcoming castle is HARD!!! Also, I reccomend you switch to Goemon. Pray for sucess, cross your fingers, and head out to... Ryugu Castle. This is HARD. If you are playing a two player, make sure one of you is Sasuke, and have the other one give him a piggyback when possible. This will mean you will have less of a chance of dying, as Sasuke's kunai shoot in all directions in a piggyback, and cost no ryou! If you are playing one player, be Goemon whenever possible, other times be Yae. Be sure to avoid the rolling barrels! One the first stamper that could crush you, there is an extra life! If you are feeling adventurous, when you see a stamper with another platform above, stand on it and jump up right. Keep going for some goodies! When you get to water, switch to Yae and dive in! Just swim down, left and then up. When you surface, head left. Be sure to watch out for falling enemies! Collect the Mr. Elly Fant, (It's real name!) and jump left over the Impact rock. Switch to Goemon, and push the rock right. Jump up on it, then onto the higher platform. Continue right, and when you can, switch to Yae. Now, go right to the water and dive in again! Keep to the bottom, swimming right, and eventually you will find an extra life! Go up, and cross your fingers. When you surface, go left for goodies! Continue left, and Bismaru will summon a spikey ball! RUN! Or swim! Whatever! keep turning round to attack it, just like in the Obisumaru race, but Don't let it hit you! If you're lucky, you may run into an ALMOST invisible extra life! When you reach the top, you will have to fight... Boss 2: Taisamba 3! The worst is over, but this is still a TOUGH challenge! (Taisamba 2 was an Impact boss in Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon.) When it goes underwater, jump out onto a platform or else you will be electrecuted! Avoid it's attacks, and hit the ropes! When all the ropes are gone, some massive object will come down and hit it on the head! Repeat to kill and move onto.. Impact Boss 2: Taisamba 4! How many of them are there? Basically the same as Bismaru Elegant, with the same style moves. Only, instead of balling up, Taisamba 4 dissapears from sight! With the lack of a radar, keep an eye out! This can be a tricky battle! Once you beat it, a cool cut scene ensues featuring Suzaku! Then, It's off to Mafu! Section 3.3 - Mafu A spooky board, with long levels and a very long castle. More alternate exits ahoy! Kokeshi Road. Be very wary of the stampers! Use Goemon, and Jump when they are about halfway up, pressing jump again when you are just below the top of the bottom stamper, then RUN!!! Also, beware of the exploding ghosts, whack them before they hit anything! This level is packed with silver fortune dolls, so make the most of it! Also, at the end, there will be 3 stampers next to each other! Jump as early as you dare, and don't stop for the ryo on the middle stamper! Maneater Road. To get past the swinging axes, wait until they are in the distance and then run. When you reach the first set of spiked wheels, go up and right to get to a spiraling path with loadsa goodies on! If you go the other way, you will reach a mini boss, just for fun. Beware, as later on you will have to face spiked wheels AND swinging axes TOGETHER!!! (Do not break the cracked blocks yet, I'll come back to that later.) Pochan Lake. A fairly easy stage. You can either switch to Sasuke or Yae, and swim down and across, or you can stay on the surface and go through a platform type stage. Both are fairly short and easy. Spook Village. At the start, as usual, enter the teahouse. Things should make a lot more sense now! Switch to Sasuke, and exit the teahouse. Go right until you see a plank sloping up, go up it, and up the next one. Wait till night comes, and go in the second house you see. In it should be a the boss of the firework show. Agree to help him, and you will enter a subgame in which Sasuke must light the fireworks in the right order. Win to get an entry pass! Now, go back down the 2 planks and down a third one. Enter the large building and talk to the Iguana Man. Agree to help him, and he will give you a video. Now, go down another plank and enter the well. Trade the video for the pencil. Now, go up to the top level and enter the well. Trade the pencil for the handkerchief. Now, go to the well by the inn and jump in. Trade the handkerchief for the comic book. Now, go down a plank and enter the well. Trade the comic book for an entry pass! Now, talk to the roadside guardian by the inn and it's off to... Pochan Lake. This one is easy, if you know what to do! Go up to a guardian and press B. It will ask you if you want to put a hat on it. If it says "Do you want to place a hat on this guardian?" say yes. BUT... if it says "Do you want to place a hat on this mysterious roadside guardian", say NO!!! The MYSTERIOUS ones are fake, and will make you fail! Once you have put hats on all the right ones, you will automatically be transported back to... Spook Village. There is one more pass here, but you'll have to leave it for a while. Sorry, but it's back to... Maneater Road. Enter as Sasuke, and when you see the cracked blocks (You will have to swing up on the first pole), unleash a charged bomb on them. Follow the level this way to reach an alternate exit. When you see a character change pad, switch to Ebisumaru. Use his megaphone on the spikes. Tomb Pass. There are two exits from this level. One leads to the checkpoint and the other leads back to Spook Village. For the sake of getting all the passes, I'll tell you how to get to them both: Checkpoint: Just progress normally through the level. Keep going right, don't stray onto any alternate paths. Beware the blue hands! Spook Village: When you see the poles, swing up and left on them. Keep following the path to get to a section with rollers. When the brown one passes over you, RUN!! You should run to the fortune doll, and then stop. Repeat this process MANY times to get to the end and get a pass! Spook Village. Now for that other entry pass. There is a woman down the bottom of the village who will send you to get mushrooms. Off to... Tomb Pass OR Maneater Road. I go for Maneater Road, it's a lot easier. You'll have to get a total of 30 mushrooms. If you don't manage it, she'll give you money and let you try again. BE SURE TO TRY ALL ALTERNATE PATHS!!! Once you do it, you get an entry pass. Hold thy breath, cross your fingers, plead that you won't die, because it's... *GASP!* Majin Castle. This. Castle. Is. HARD!!! I MEAN IT!!! This castle took me over a month! Well, hold your breath, and step right up... Just keep going right. Dosen't sound hard, does it? But later on you will reach a section with spikes in the floor. Use Ebi's megaphone to get across these. Later, a section with spikes rising from the floor. Be Goemon! I know Sasuke's blocks may appear, but just double jump over them, it's quicker. When you reach the molten lava section, jump on the platforms when they are not submerged. After MUCH ploughing through this castle, you will reach... Boss 3: Gorotsuke. Be nimble! When he stops whack his feet. When he rolls, RUN! When he whacks, jump away, and when he jumps, move! When he whacks the pillars, dodge the falling junk. When he bounces, run underneath him. When he falls down, a ghost will come out and writhe about on the floor, so whack it as hard as you can! It will re - enter Gorotsuke, so just repeat to process to view a VERY cool cut scene and continue to: Impact Boss 3: Gods of Wind and Thunder. Really only one robot. Uses the same two special moves, they just look different. Beware, as this guy can move really fast, so you may need to punch him quickly. At times, he will wander up nice and close, ready for a great big super punch, or a laser mouth. Sometimes the things flying around him will come out at you, just quick punch them away. What really makes this boss harder is the fact that he has 3000 health, as appose to the standard 2000. Do not be afraid to switch Impacts if your health is running low. Then, after that, it's a cool cut scene, then on to: Section 3.4 - The Underworld. A much more trickier area, the Missions here are very difficult, so be ready for mayhem! Kaiware road. This level breaks off into different path ways, just pick one and follow it, also on one of these paths, you will find the restless spirit of Okiku, this poor young girl seems to be... DEAD! and she can't rest untill she has the last dishplate she needs, Okiku only appears at night, and you can only get the Dish she needs from the hidden village! drat! Go on the other paths and follow them to the end of the level, you should get a pass. Mokeke Forest. Ah, this is where the bus stop to the hidden village is, but you can't go to creep village untill you completed the game! just follow the normal path through the level, if you go down and back track at some points, you can find some neat little powerups. just go with the normal path and follow it to the End. Wonder Valley. Most likely you will get lost in this level, there's an Ebisumaru-only path way too. so just keep your head on and you'll make it through, be careful when you get to the thin platfroms as it is most likely you will fall off if you are careless. Watch out for the rock throwers and Firewheels. I suggest you use Goemon for this level. There are two exits here - one leading to the castle, the other to... Tree stump village. Many difficult quests in this level I'm afraid, when you head two screens right you will find a door in the background, go in as Goemon and chat to the Beauty inside, She will hypnotise Goemon into leanding her 3500 COINS!!! You'll have to pay it off bit by bit, once you've payed her off, she will reveal herself to be a MAN! Now he will tell you he is Kensuke and give you an entry pass. Also watch out for where the hide and seekers live. They will challange you to a game of hide and seek, knock down wooden posts, barrels and check behind objects, you'll be sure to find the kids, when all seven have been found Red hider will give you an entry pass. Now, in the part with the platforms leading up to the inn, go to the bottom left corner. Talk to the girl in that house, and you will have to go to... Wonder Valley. You'll have to find the 6 Tengu here. YOU MUST DO THIS AS EBISUMARU!!! Why? Because at one point there is a VERY high platform! What you've got to do is this: Use the solid megaphone so the largest symbol is underneath the edge of the platform. Climb onto the symbol, and to the bounce jump up to the platform. You should make it just before the symbols dissapear. Once you have them all, you'll get an entry pass! Underworld Castle. This castle is VERY EASY (If playing as Goemon!) Head right at the beginning, fighting or avoiding the enemies lurking around, then you will enter the castle itself, keep going right, ride the convayor belts, and watch out for the Samurai robots that you can ride. Beware in the throne room as Impact rocks will come rolling your way, and Knights will attempt to poke you up the backside with thier lances. Keep fighting and you will break through to... Boss 4: Kabuki 64. AAAAARGH! NASTY! Samurai boy from Ganbare Goemon 2 on the SNES has returned from the dead! And he wants revenge on our little ninjas!. When Kabuki hits into the Snot spray attack, run right up close so you are standing at his feet, now duck and start whacking him! When he falls into the background his monstrous beastie friend will start attacking with his club, stand a tiny bit to the right of Kabuki and He will Crush Kabuki and make him lose health, When Kabuki starts hopping around the room, get behind him and leap and attack him in the back as he goes, then repeat the club -thing with the monster, Dodge the spiked pillars that come down by moving out of the way of their shadows. Once beaten, you'll then see a funny movie but! SHOCK! Kabuki is re-incarnated as well, you had to expect it a giant robot, now the battle is thrown over two the dynamic duo, Impact and Miss Impact. Impact boss 4: Kabuki Final. Beware of his fan attack, so shoot or punch to rid yourself of those, if Kabuki hold his hand out and it turns red aim at his hand and hit him with the repeated punch. When he pulls out his brolly, throw the baton or be prepared to write your will and be defeated. If The other Impact gets stuck upside down, aim at Kabuki and shoot the Blast Beam! Oh and if he goes underwater aim for the middle of the screen and use the repeated punch attack to catch him off his guard. Once beaten watch the groovy cut-scene and prepare for the last world. 3.5: Floating Castle. The last area, quite easy levels but the missions are a pain in the backside, be prepared for mayhem and the final showdown with the Evil Bismaru and Dochuki! Cloud Fortress. A new enemy makes it's debut on this level. It is a flying crow that spits lightning bolts at you. Stand under it and wait till it fires, then shoot upwards. Run to the side as it falls, then repeat once more to kill it. There are LOADS of different paths through this level. To get to Sky garden, go down from the first character change pad and stay to the lower part of the level. I'll cover the other exit later. Sky Garden. There is only one exit from this level, but there are many winding paths that interconnect. If you are Goemon, there is a part of this level where you can break through some star blocks to reach a golden fortune doll! Watch out for the enemies at night, the big, hopping blue spider o' doom turns up again! Kill it for a few coins. Then, on to... Floating World Town. Ok, first off keep going right and exit, then re - enter. You can now leave at will, by pressing start and selecting exit, which will save you time in the long run. Switch to Yae in the teahouse. Go right and across a bridge, then across two bridges in the foreground. Go left and across a bridge. You are about to start what is probably the most FUN pass in the game! Talk to the man with a paper bag over his head. He will send you away. So, go back over the bridge to the right, over one bridge in the background, right over another bridge and into the large house. Talk to the guy with the sack on his head, then select: "But I really want to" and "Please let me do it". He will give you a letter of introduction. So, go back to the first man with the sack on his head. Talk to him! Now, for one of the two funniest bits of the game! Talk to the kid and convince him it's all gonna be ok. You can stray off into all sorts of stuff, like what Yae has on her washing line! Anyway, if you get REALLY stuck, here's what to say: 1. Oh, come on, it's not! 2. Thunder, you see... 3. Now, your navel... 4. That's right! 5. When I was a kid... Now, you get a pass! (And the scarfman tells you you have 'quite a sexy voice'!!!) Anyway, it's not over yet! Go back to the entrance to the town, and talk to the kid there. He will say he wants to become a game designer. Now, go back to the child councelling centre and talk to the scarfman. (I THINK you need to get every other pass before this will work. If you can shed any light on this, please email me at rathbones@msn.com!) Again, you are whisked inside for a MUCH harder time! (In this one, you can make Yae go on about how Goemon games have loads of glitches in! DON'T let her talk about the Konami school, it'll only make you lose! The answers are: 1. Yeah, all right... 2. What I can tell... 3. Yes, I suppose... 4. Well, first he... 5. No, no... 6. They call you soon... 7. Sure, I guess... 8. Sure! Now, wait until night and go as far into the foreground as possible, then keep going left. There will be a ghost standing near the tree. He will offer you a pass for 1,500 coins. Say no, and he lowers the price to 500. Say yes to buy it. Now, head two bridges into the foreground, and go to the left. Talk to the child, then head bact to the bridges and enter the first house on the right. YOU WILL NEED TO USE THE 'B' DASHING TECHNIQUE TO CATCH THE MESSENGER!!! Chase him, and once you find him, talk to him QUICKLY to get a pass. You have a VERY short amount of time to do this. A good way is to wait till he passes you, then chase! There is an Obisumaru race here, but that'll have to wait for a bit. For now, go back to... Cloud Fortress. This time, go up from the first character change and keep going right, through the workshop. You will open up a path to... Wind Castle Wall. This level is quite similar to Cloud Fortress. Only one route through it, so keep going right! No alternate paths or secrets, just beware of the moving platforms and the huge blue spiders at night. Now, back to... Floating World Town. Ok, go one bridge into the foreground, and into the second house on the left AS EBISUMARU! Talk to Obisumaru and he will challenge you again. This race is at the newly opened... Wind Castle Wall. Ok, use a totally different strategy to the first time. Obisu will RUSH off at the start, and attacking him will not help in this race! At various points, he will wait for you. Eating, sleeping, being pampered by two girls, or just standing there. Try to jump over him when possible, without being noticed. Keep going fast, even though you are losing. The more times you sneak over him, the easier it will be to overtake him in the end. If you did it right, near the end he will be going REALLY slowly. RUN past him to the finishing line to win and get an entry pass! Ok, now it's time to pray with all your heart! Teeth chattering? Calm down. Get comfortable. Keep a cool head. CONCENTRATE!!! You'll need it all for... Dream Castle. Ok, this is a mix of all previous castles. THIS IS VERY HARD!!! I will do this castle in sections. EDO CASTLE SECTION - ARGH!!! LOADS of dropping and swinging platforms here! In the first section, jump from platform to platform, and get off the small yellow platforms QUICKLY, or they will fall! The small green platforms are perfectly safe to stay on. For the second section, almost EVERY platform falls! Jump from platform to platform, and if an enemy is near, press 'B' at the height of your jump to whack them! Then, on to... RYUGU CASTLE SECTION - For the first part, the crushing pillars make a re - appearance! RUN AND JUMP AS FAST AS YOU CAN! You'll have to time your jumps onto the spikey platforms JUST RIGHT!!! On the second part, switch to Sasuke or Yae and swim down. There are lots of goodies down here, but if you want to just get it over with, go down, right and up as usual. You'll have to make a few detours, though! Switch to the character of your choice and go on to... MAJIN CASTLE SECTION - For the first section, you must jump on those HORRIBLE pot lids that go up and down, WHILE avoiding rotating clubs, WHILE avoiding falling liquids! Yikes! If you're lucky you'll make it through here alive! For the second section, don't worry, those rotating spikes don't make a comeback! What doesm though, are the mantraps WITH undead hands IN THEM, the falling blades and those annoying things that cling to your back! NOOOO!!! Still, hopefully you'll make it through... thrash around to get the things off you, and whack the hands to keep them at bay. Other than that, time jumps VERY carefully, and be careful not to fall! On to... UNDERWORLD CASTLE SECTION - For the first section, you'll have to time your jump between the crushing hands and WHACK those crows! For the second bit.. what could be the ONE thing you didn't want to come back from this castle? Apart from Kabuki 64? The giant club thing! Use the same strategy as before and you should be ok. Except, oh yeah, the water is poisonous! Good luck! Watch the INCREDIBLY cool cut scene, then ARGH!!! Pluck up ALL your courage for... Last Impact Boss - DevilDeathGod! NOOOOOO!!!!! THIS THING HAS 6666 HP!!!! It's VERY quick, but uses mostly standard moves. When is spins towards you, do the repeated punch, and, as usual, when it does a 'sudden death' attack, pass that baton! Also, it will summon Bismaru elegant to fight you sometimes! Laser if you are ready, otherwise wait till it gets close and do the repeated punch. (Sonetimes, quite comically, it summons Kensuke to fight you!) Phew! Won the game? No! Now, you must face... Last Boss???? - King of Devils, Dochuki! Surprisingly easy! Wait till he swings round to your level, and whack him. Stand at his feet when he throws the energy ball to avoid it. Jump over his bullets. Keep whacking him to beat him! Congratulations! You have won! NOT!!!! Sorry, pal, but if you lost to this boss you go from the Impact one, and the same goes for... THE Final Boss - Dochuki Final! PREPARE TO FIGHT!!! This guy is really hard! Ok, when he does his snot spray, leap over it or run away from it. The same goes for the laser eyes. When he bites the platform, run to the side, turn back and whack his mouth. Repeat and he will fall forward with his mouth open. Stand in front of his mouth and press 'Up' to enter! Walk up to his tonsils and WHACK THEM!! PRESS 'B' LIKE YOU'VE NEVER PRESSED IT BEFORE!!! Eventually, he'll blow you out and you'll have to repeat it. Repeat to fade, and watch the COOL ending sequence! (AND find out what Sasuke and Yae sound like in the digitised speech!) However... you think it's over yet? You don't have all 44 passes, do you? You can't do at this point. Ha ha ha! There is one more place left to discover, that can ONLY be accessed when the game is completed! This is not particularly hard, but finding out how to get there can be REALLY annoying! Prepare to dance forever to the music of... 3.6: Creep Village. This will amuse you to hell! Not hard, but fun and that music is SO wierd that you'll be tapping to it forever! Prepare to witness something that, as Gerimon Impact said, comes straight out of a Warner Bros. cartoon! GO BACK TO THE UNDERWORLD FIRST. Mokeke Forest. Ok, go right until you reach the Impact rock. Keep an eye out for a clay doll under a platform. Whack it, then go left UNDERNEATH the platform. Switch to Sasuke or Yae, go left and dive. Underwater, swim right, avoiding the enemies and gates, and then swim up when you get the chance. Once above, go right till you see a post. Wait there all night, and eventually a skeleton bus will come! (This can ONLY be done after Dochuki is beaten!) You are now in... Creep Village. Looks really cool, huh? There's 4 passes to be had here. Unusually, you do not have to find another exit before you can leave via 'Start', and there is no teahouse. While the wierd music lodges itself into your head, here's what to do. First off, you MUST go into the general store and buy a rice ball. Now, go to the third house on the right. Talk to the Tengu there. (The Tengu are from Japanese mythology, they were evil creatures who stole babies. This village is sort of like a parody, because everyone says only six of them are evil, and they are the ones you killed earlier!) He will happily take your rice ball! Repeat this two more times for an entry pass. Now, go right to the head with the moving eyes, and leap in it's mouth! Go left from your new location to reach a waterfall. Talk to the Tengu there to learn about it, then stand still in it until you get a pass. Now, right of the head is another Tengu. Talk to him and say "Yes" for a pass. This ONLY works after you have defeated the six brothers in the mission in Tree Stump Village. Otherwise he will call you a liar! Now, leap back in the mouth to reurn to the top level. Go right over the water. That wierd purple house is an inn, if you need it! Anyway, around here is a shop with a sign on the door you will not have seen before. This is the dish shop. YOU MUST HAVE 500 RYO OR THIS WILL BE POINTLESS!!! Go inside and talk to Dish Mania. Buy the Mum dish. Now, go back to... Kaiware Road. Ok, ready for the LAST pass in the game? Hmm... I can smell those alternate costumes! (Might not be the last pass, as I think you have to have got 43 passes before you can do Yae's second hotline quest...) Well, go right until you drop down from a wooden platform, and can see a gentle slope going down and left. Follow this slope to react a section where you have to jump on gates over water. Keep going to your left until you see emerge from underneath another wooden platorm. Jump onto it and go right. Keep going to reach what looks like a well. Wait until nightfall, then go back left for a bit, then return to the well. A ghost will now be there. Talk to it to descover it is the restless spirit of Okiku. Give her the Mum dish and she will give you an entry pass in return! Congratulations! You now have every pass in the game! See section 4 for the secrets you can now access! 4. Secrets Okay well there are three groovy secrets for this game. 1. THREE Alternate costumes for each character! 2. The Fabled FOUR PLAYER MODE! 3. The Secret Creep Village! Okay here how to get the costumes and stuff First you MUST have collected ALL 44 entry passes AND BEATEN THE GAME. Now go to either WISEMAN or PLASMA MAN, they will tell you to save your money and visit the general stores in each world. The Shops will now sell crazy outfits for each Goemon character, BUT THEY CAN ONLY BE PURCHASED BY THE GANG MEMBER WHO MAY USE THEM!!! Here's what's on offer for each one of our heroes but you'll have to find where they are yourself and what they cost! GOEMON'S HIDDEN OUTFITS! Turban Satchel Impact (~MaguaMaru: Argh! Does he EVER stop smiling?~) EBISUMARU'S HIDDEN OUTFITS! Racoon Tights (~MaguaMaru: This makes Ebi look like a wrestler!~) Sumo belt (~MaguaMaru: Ebi in his pants is not everyones cup of tea!~) SASUKE'S HIDDEN OUTFITS! Fur coat Maid suit (MaguaMaru: What goes through Konami's heads...~) Bloomers YAE'S HIDDEN OUTFITS! Kirameki uniform (~MaguaMaru: I know what you're thinking, you know what I'm thinking, we BOTH know where we have seen this before!~) Bunny Fur (~MaguaMaru: THAT bunny suit. The famous one!~) Swimsuit HOW TO GET THE 4 PLAYER MODE: The mags printed this one wrong, too! Get ALL 44 passes, (Creep Village is not accessable until you have beaten the final boss) then start a 1 player game on that file. Go to a town or level. Press start on P2's pad. Now, plug in P3 and P4, and press C right + start at the same time on P3's pad to make a third character appear! After that, do the same with P4! Players 3 and 4 will have infinite lives and money, and their health is not displayed. Every time you enter a new area, they will disappear. Just do the C right + start thing to make them appear again. Enjoy! HOW TO GET TO CREEP VILLAGE: Ok, first you MUST have completed the game. Now, go to Mokeke Forest in the Underworld. Progress right until you see the Impact rock. Keep going, and look out for a pink - suited clay doll underneath a platform. Jump down to it's level, whack it and go left. Enter the tea room and switch to Yae or Sasuke. Exit the tea room, go left and dive! Keep swimming right for as long as you can, then go up and surface. Now, go right until you see what looks like a run - down bus shelter with a post nearby. Stand underneath the post and wait for nightfall. Sometime near daybreak a HUGE, FREAKY skeleton bus should come and pick you up, then fly off into the night! You are now in Creep Village, the village of the Tengu! (As Gerimon herself stated, this looks like a Warner Bros. cartoon!) (The Tengu are from Japanese mythology. They are supposed to be evil animals who steal babies. This village sorta pokes fun at that, with the background bit about the six brothers!) Section 5: Messages from the authors. MAGUAMARU - *Phew!* The Goemon 4 walkthrough was REALLY hard to write! At least this one was in English! MAKE MORE GOEMON GAMES, KONAMI!!! I like all sorts of games, including Castlevania, Zelda, Parodius and Hlaf - Life! However, I think that Goemon games are the most original, exciting and funny games ever made! Well, I love Goemon! Just compare this Goemon to Goemon 1 NES, see how surreal it is! Well, soon I may start a webring for Goemon! If anyone feels they could contribute anything to the whole Goemon scene, I would love to hear from you! Now, compare the game you have just finished (hopefully!!) to most games that we are used to. Most likely sports games, action games or generally 'usual' games. Sure, some of those games are great, but compare the characters in that to this. See what I mean? Link compared to Ebisumaru, Gordon Freeman compared to Dochuki, any anime giant robot to Impact, and, especially after you understand what is going on, you may understand what I mean. I have a simple web site at www.geocities.com/maguamaru/ . Failing that, try www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Metro/1685/. It also covers some of Goemon 3 now! GERIMON IMPACT - Hi! I'm back from the Goemon 4 walkthrough, which was REALLY difficult! (To write AND to play!) I'm STILL trying to get people to know about Goemon, as most of the people I talk to don't know what I'm talking about! (Except for a select few I have met!) Hey, I love Goemon too! I like Impact the best because he's so funky, (NIGHT FEVER!!!) I like Platform , adventure, RPG, and shooting games (PARODIUS RULES!) Notice how Goemon started life as a mild-mannered NES game with total normalitly, now? Now it's a wild un-tamed japanese loony game... AND I LOVE IT!!!!! I'm just trying to get more people to recognise and like or even love the Goemon series, Goemon is an un-sung hero amonst video gaming. MaguaMaru's site is cool so take a good long look at it. Oh, I also have my own site at members.tripod.co.uk/Gerimon and it'll have links to some of the best Goemon sites on the web on it soon!! Oh yes, me, MaguaMaru and Justumaru also wrote another walkthrough another while back, which was for the SNES Goemon 4! Also, watch out for our new walkthrough, THE COLOUR GB GOEMON!!! Section 6: Thanks! Well, thanks go out to: Gerimon Impact, for writing this walkthrough with me! Justumaru, for his support and ideas (this faq wouldn't EXIST if it weren't for him!), and for being a pal! Dochuki the Mighty, for being a supportive friend! The Mystic Ninja, for making me part of the team, posting this faq, and being a friend! Konami, for making cool Goemon games! (NO thanks to them for removing the songs... if people don't like them, just make them skippable with start!) Anyone who posts this faq, for, well, posting it! And YOU, for downloading this faq and taking an interest in Goemon! The last quotes - "Naturally, I will not take out these vermin my illustrious self!" ~Dochuki "I am the great Bismaru, second to none!" ~Bismaru "I am the great Goemon, second to none!" ~Goemon "Ow! You're so fine, so fine!" ~DJ Beatmania "Then I can meet my ancestor, James Dean!" ~Ebisumaru "Truly, Yae, you'll make someone a good wife someday!" ~Ebisumaru, to Yae. "Why can't I do that too?" ~Sasuke, in addition to the quote above! UNTIL NEXT TIME!!! ~MaguaMaru and Gerimon Impact.
