Next update will have a Cars\Drivers Section. 2.5 - Added Game Review 3.0 - Final version, added Racers section, i didn't feel this needed a tracks section, as the game isn't that hard. ==========Version Hitory========== -Contents- 1. Introduction 2. Controls 3. Basics 4. Tips And Tricks 5. Secrets\Codes 6. Gameshark Codes 7. Game Review 8. Racers 9. Credits 10. Legal Stuff 11. The End =============== 1. Introduction =============== F-Zero X, is an extremly awesome and fast game, after playing this game Mario Kart 64 will seem like a game your grandma should be playing instead of yourself. The cars, oops the tech people will kill me if i call them cars...the "hovercrafts" are extremly awesome, the drivers are cool, unlike some of the dorky racers out there, and the music is addicting! The graphics are OK, the music as i said before is great and the gameplay ain't half bad either, now onto the rest of the FAQ. =========== 2. Controls =========== As with any game, this one has controls too. Huh? you thought it was so futuristic it was voice activated? Sorry, NOA hasn't made that yet...Anyways here's the controls. Move Vehicle: Control Stick Accelerate: A Rocket Boost: B (Will Work On 2nd and third laps only) Brake: C-Down Change View: C-Right Look Behind Vehicle: C-Up (Hold down) Tilt vehicle to the right: R Tilt vehicle to the left: Z Bump Attack Left: Z+Z Bump Attack Right: R+R Spin Attack Left: R+Z+Z Spin Attack Right: Z+R+R ========= 3. Basics ========= Here are the basics of the game for you beginners out there. After the first lap, you will be able to boost at will(B Button), if you try to boost before the 2nd lap, it will not work. When you boost, you will gain a fair amount of speed for a short period of time, however your energy will go down a bit. If you have no energy left you will not be able to use the boost function regardless of what lap it is. If you destroy an opposing car(Grand Prix Only) you will get a yellow star(err, are we playing Mario 64 now)no no, you don't use these stars, however if you get 5 of them you will get an extra life, if you find yourself struggling try ramming a few cars..... Run over those "yellow arrows" on the ground to get a speed burst(similar to pressing B) Run over "that pink stuff in the road" to get more energy, the longer you stay on it, the more energy you get! Avoid the "light blue stuff" on the ground, it is ice, and it is hard to regain control of your vehicle after flying over this stuff. ================== 4. Tips And Tricks ================== Always when you are in a refueling area, use the boost! you will not only get a huge boost, as always, but when you exit the fueling area you will still have all of your energy, cool eh? I thought so.. If you are not in first place at sometime(like that's ever happened to me..)then try and take out whoever is ahead of you by the most, if they die, they get 0 points, and you can cruise to victory......Or you can do this when you are in first to the person in second, if you feel like really dusting everyone(which is what i always do) When going into 90 degree turns, let off of the accelerator a bit, but don't hit the brake button unless you HAVE to, I.E. you will either crash and burn or fall off the course. When going off of jumps, your vehicle will sometimes, well, fly a ways, while you are in mid-air, your controls are like an airplane, down is up, up is down. To get more speed off of jumps hold the control stick up before and during the jump. This works extremly well for me, and it should for you too! ================= 5. Submitted by Ian Topple Rainbow Road Shortcut At the top of the first big drop, drive off the side of the track and tilt backward. Starting from 30th, this will put you anywhere from 20th to 1st, depending on how well you pull it off. Submitted by Eddie Virgilio Spin Attack To use the spin attack just hold the Z botton and tap R twice or just do the reverse.(This method is very useful in "Death Match" if you time it just right). Submitted by Mr. Rogers Title Screen Changes To have the title screen change to a comic book motif, beat F-Zero X on Expert. For a second change, beat the game on Master difficulty. Submitted by Me X-Cup Track Generator Beat all four cups on Expert difficulty to open F-Zero's hidden X-Cup. This cup will randomly generate six courses, ranging from utterly boring to plain cool. Beating the four cups will also open a Master Difficulty level. ================== 6. With 30 different racers, over 30 tracks, and music that will blow your mind, this game rocks! Graphics - 6 The graphics aren't too great, period. Who cares?? You can barely SEE the graphics while you racing down the tracks over 1000 MPH. Graphics are not a big part of this game, get over it! Sound\Music - 10 The music on this game is the best i've seen for a racing game, i wish all racing games had music like this! Forget those boring mario tunes your used to and get ready to rock! With music blasting in stero sound all around you while goin 1300 MPH you'll feel like your actually racing! Replay Value - 8 It's a racing game, simple as that, once you've beat it, you've beat it. But unlike other racing games, this one is still fun to play after you've beaten it! And with the X Cup it features this game doesn't get boring!!! Gameplay - 10 The gameplay is the best i've seen in a while for a racing game, 4 player mode, and 1 player are both great. 30+ tracks NEVER gets old, and the 30 racers you can select from are all fun to use!
