By Juganon - 07/05/2019. Hi everyone and welcome to this FAQ. This FAQ is not from me but from xoxjayoxo who published it on 04/09/04 on the IGN website. It is the very best and most exhaustive Treasure Item FAQ I have found and it was not available here until now. CONTENT: This FAQ contains information about how to obtain almost all Treasure Items (193/200) without cheating or using passwords. (some Treasure Items are unfortunately unobtanable). Moreover, some information about the game mechanics and some strategy about how to defeat metal characters are given. You will also find there cheats and passwords for the different characters. I will regularly add some more information or details. For instance about Special Treasure Busters that are available when Treasure Items are at level max. If you have any question, please ask me by pm or in the board. Enjoy. ADDITIONS: 07/05/2019 - 069 Crystal of Monk, Special Secret Buster (lv max). This faq tells you precisely what to do and how to do it.So many faqs on Flying Dragon tell you that they've got a nice list of items for you and then you see it and it's bareley even got half of them. Every FAQ out there lacks one thing though. THEY STILL DOEN'T GIVE ANY CLUE HOW TO GET THE ITEMS WHICH IS THE MAIN PART OF THIS GAME. That's where my Faq comes into play. I have obtained 193 of the 200 items in this game and have identified 197/200 of them. THIS FAQ WILL TELL YOU WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO GET EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM. Here's what I'm missing: ___________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________ Completion Thus Far: Battle: 98/100 Attack 34/34 (100%) Defence 15/17 (85%) Medicine 17/17 (100%) Special 32/32 (100%) Strategy: 80/85 Secret Tech 13/13 (100%) Strategy 22/22 (100%) 7 Wounders 7/7 (100%) Others 16/19 (80%) Scroll 23/24 (95%) Medals: 14/15 (of course) ___________________________________________________________________________ ITEMS NOT FOUND SO FAR (total : 7/200). - Armor of Ryutentaisei - Armor of ??? - Video for Expert vol. 4 - # 145, #146, #147 (COMPLETELY UNKNOWN) - The last medal whatever it is ___________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________ And that's it. Everything else I have. If you want to know how to get em, just scroll down. ************************** * Basic Info on the Game * ************************** There isn't all that much to this game. It's your basic fighter game, with the added twist of equipable items. Your items will level up from 0 - 10 gaining power as they increase. There are 8 starting characters available to choose and 2 bonus characters that you gain access to later on in the game. Each one have their own fighting techniques, and I'm not about to try and tell you how to use them all. One hint is: using a jump kick/punch as your first attack when attacking a computer opponent is extrememly effective at stunning them to let you get off some other attacks. Other than that, just play around with them and find the ones you like best. About the items, You'll find that some characters can't use certain items and some can only use certain items when they reach a certain level. That's just the way the game works. Try and see which characters work better with which items as you go. My recomended setups are furthur down in this faq. A very good idea at the begining is to set the number of rounds to 3, and here's why: if you're good enough to get at least one perfect win per match, you get 2 pts of exp per round but a perfect win doubles your exp for that match. If you're at 1 round it just goes from 2 exp to 4 exp. If your at 2 rounds, it'd go from 4 exp to 8, and at 3 rounds, it'd go from 6 exp to 12. At 3 rounds, and 3 perfect wins you gain 24 exp right there where the most you can get at 2 rounds is 12 and at 1 round is 4. It may be a bit longer but it's worth it. ___________________________________________________________________________ *************************** * More Advanced Game Info * *************************** Ok, I was never one to try and teach newbies how to play. Here are some of the more advanced techniques to use when playing. IF YOU'RE NEW TO THE GAME YOU PROBABLY WON'T UNDERSTAND ANY OF THIS SO DON'T EVEN BOTHER TRYING. 1. OTEDAMA (All the feathers have this) The 5 items that use this are the Nameless, Suzaku, Garuda, Houou feathers, and Feather of Kujakumyouou with values ranging from 2 - 4. Otedama allows you to knock your opponent higher in the air a certain number of times (depending on the value 2-4) which allows you to hit them in the air and them keep them in the air so you can get combos of attacks up to 10 hits without even letting them hit the ground. One example is Ryuhi's scissor kick. Use that 3 times when you have a Garuda feather and you've hit your opponent 6 times, then they'll finally start falling and you use a tripple kick to finish the combo. That's a simple one by the way, I've found ways to keep the opponent in the air indefinately with Yuka, and Wiler using certain combos paired up with Cancel but that's for me to know and you to find out on your own. NOTE: Equipping 2 feathers doesn't give you the combined otedama value, it just gives you the higher of the 2, so having 2 feathers equipped is useless. ___________________________________________________________________________ 2. CANCEL (some items have this, or you get it indefinately after defeating metal Hayato) Cancel is a tequnique that allows you to use a kick or punch and then attack with a super attack right after with absolutely no attack delay. This works better for some characters than others but it's invaluable for any of them. One example of how to use it is as follows: Using Wiler, use a front knee attack to knock your opponent in the air, use his triple kick attack (down C button) and then lunge at your opponent pressing toward with down C again. If you time it right, you can do this 3 times hitting your opponent between 6 and 12 times. It's hard to say exactly which attacks can be paired up with which others but the basic rule is use a regular kick or punch, and then use a super techning afterward. NOTE: CANCEL ALSO WORKS WITH SECRET BUSTERS. that means, you can stop having your secret buster attacks always dodged or blocked and actually land some of them. EX: using ryuhi, hit your opponent with a kick to stun them before attacking with his fireball secret buster and they won't be able to block it. ___________________________________________________________________________ 3. Ryumaou Tournament You'll notice soon in that you don't have to get all 9 of the metal character medals to enter the Ryumaou tournament. You can enter after defeating Metal Ryuhi (that's the 5th of the 9). You don't actually benefit from completing these tournaments yet but the items that you get at the tournament are the rarer ones that you can usually only get at the end of a Championship tournament so if you're missing items like the ? stone, robes of life and vision, or teleport mantle, these are often the prizes at the end of the Ryumaou tournament prior to defeating Metal Bokuchin. Once you do this, you can't go back and you'll get items like the Dark Dragon Claw, Armor of Satan, etc.... *************************** * The Metal Characters * *************************** If you're having trouble with any of the metal characters then this would be where to look. I've included any difficulties I could think of with any of the characters. They're listed in the order that they appear in the game. Metal Shouryu Ability: When you hit him, you'll be frozen for a short time depending on how much damage you did. It could last up to 3 or 4 seconds. That means, whenever possible, stay far and throw off lots of projectiles(fireballs). The only characters you should have trouble with would be Powers, Wiler, and Bokuchin. As for wiler, make sure you have his Bomb attack (secret buster) and try and hit him with that as often as possible. Othen than that, just lunge at him by pressing toward him with the down C button. For Bokuchin, just fly at him over and over. Can't really do anything else. It's easier if you have his final Secret buster attack because you can damage him a lot more with that. As for powers, it's gonna be long and boring but the best attack you can use is his arm lariat (back, forward, down C) to knock him down, and as soon as you unfreeze, jump away and do it again. Powers is the most difficult to defeat him with. ___________________________________________________________________________ Metal Robo no Hana Ability: You take damage equal to him when you hit him with a physical attack. Well the obvious way would be not to attack him with physical attacks right? To make it worse, he has a repair kit and regains hp slowly making it hard to actually get anywhere against him. Once good way to get in some damage is jump over him, he'll often use his attack that makes him fly up in the air, and then he'll be facing the wrong direction. Quickly turn around and throw off your best projectile attacks. Once again, Wiler, Powers, and Bokuchin pose problems and in this case it's even worse than before. Wiler, using his bomb, can beat him (barely) if he hits with a few bombs and then attacks as quickly as possible so that you lose hp but he dies first. Powers and Bokuchin CAN'T BEAT HIM. I"ve only ever done it once in my life with Bokuchin and that was using a Black Ball. I still don't know how I pulled it off either. TAKE MY ADVICE, JUST GET THE PREVENTION ITEM. It doesn't take long to get, just do a regular tournament 1 round without using any secret or treasure busters. ___________________________________________________________________________ Metal Hayato Ability: He has something to the effect of super Genei. if he's on the ground, he'll float back over and over no matter how many attacks you get in on him doing almost no damage at all. Plus, he takes no damage to projectiles at all, (unless he's in the air somehow). Usually, people get the prevention item without even trying because they do a tournament of 3 rounds and don't lose any rounds, resulting in being awarded the Ring of Houou. If you don't have it, just stick to throws. As for Bokuchin who doesn't have any, start your attack far away, use a jump PUNCH to stun him and then use an uppercut. Sometimes, he'll try to attack you at the same time and your uppercut will go through his genei knocking him in the air so you can attack him freely. Not much else you can do. ___________________________________________________________________________ Metal Yuka Ability: She has a new attack and it hurts. Doesn't matter where you are, she'll bring both hands to her chest and fling them outward at you, and, well, you get thrown to the ground. It's a pretty neat trick actually, I wouldn't mind being able to do that. Anyway, there's a nice simple way to avoid this annoyance. JUST KEEP ATTACKING HER. Keep her busy and she won't have time to throw off her telekenesis thingamagig attack. ___________________________________________________________________________ Metal Ryuhi Ability: He can use unlimited Secret and Treasure Busters. Yea, well, his ability is USELESS because the computer almost never uses secret busters, and Metal Ryuhi NEVER uses his Blue Charm. Just fight him like you would a regular opponenent. ___________________________________________________________________________ Metal Powers Ability: Super Body. Once again, a useless ability, since Powers can have super body just by equipping a Yokozuna Loincloth anyway. Just be careful because Powers, with his additional attack stat due to him being Metal, can do an exceptional amount of damage with his final secret buster if he happens to hit you with it. Other than that, just attack him like a regular opponent. Since he has super body, throws would be your best bet, that goes for any opponent using super body though. ___________________________________________________________________________ Metal Wiler Ability: All Prevent, meaning: you can't use super attacks, throws, or secret busters. His all prevent doesn't stop you from using super attacks when you use them through cancel though. Meaning, if you throw a regular kick and then use a super attack afterward, you'll still be able to get it off. Asside from that, you'll just have to stick to the basics. A long but effective way of beating him with any character is use a jump kick, then trip kick. Back up and repeat. As for bokuchin who doesn't seem to have ANY useful attacks other than his super attacks, try a jump punch, then uppercut to throw him in the air. Then use 3 kicks in a row to knock him back and repeat. That technique works with a few others too, such as Ryuhi, using his forward kick, Suzaku, using his uppercut, and Wiler, using his knee kick. ___________________________________________________________________________ Metal Suzaku Ability: He has a new attack aswell, kinda like Metal Yuka. He Lunges forward at you stabing you. The damage is pretty high, and in addition, you get poisoned, meaning, your hp goes down slowly. Don't think a robe of life or repair kit will save you either because your hp goes down faster than Heal can recover it. Just like Yuka, simply don't let him use the attack. Keep close and don't let him rest 'cause if you do, he'll use it. Note: I've noticed that for some reason, metal Suzaku's defence to throws is a lot lower than regular attacks. Don't ask me why but you may as well exploit it. My best guess is that it's a glitch where his Anaconda Fang effects opponent's attack but not throw. Anyway, who knows, who cares, just use it to your advantage. ___________________________________________________________________________ Metal Bokuchin Ability: IMMORTAL meaning HE'LL TAKE FOREVER TO DIE. Immortal is the equivalent of having 9 potions on him, the first one puts him all the way back to full hp, and each time he runs out of hp afterward, he comes back a bit lower. Eventually, he'll regain only about 5% of his hp and when you take him down again, he'll finally stay down. One nice simple way: GET THE PREVENTION ITEM (see the items list section, it's the Magical Candy). Other way: KEEP POUNDING HIM AND DON'T LET HIM GET UP. No fancy way to do this one, either work for the prevention item or prepare for a long battle. Even having played as much as I have, it's still difficult at times to take him down when he's got about 5 times the hp that you have. There is a trick with Yuka in the cheats section of this Faq which makes this guy A LOT easier though, but as for the rest of the characters, there's nothing I can really say. NOTE: Oh yea, and to boot, he's got a robe of vision so he'll be that much more annoying and difficult to knock down. Throws are your best bet against this guy. ___________________________________________________________________________ Shin Ryumaou You have to fight this guy 3 times. Every time he has a Robe of Vision and Armor of Satan, meaning he has Super Body AND Genei. THE ONLY WAY TO KNOCK HIM DOWN IS TO THROW HIM. FIRST BATTLE: Ability: All Prevent (like Metal Wiler). Here's a little bonus, the first time you fight him he's got all prevent so YOU CAN'T EVEN USE THROWS. No tricks to this one, just throw off kicks, because they're stronger than punches. The AI wasn't designed to make Shin Ryumaou very smart though and he'll often just stand there and take hits if you stay close and keep using regular kicks so just keep attacking and pray he dies first. SECOND BATTLE: Ability: IMMORTAL!!! (YES IT'S BOKUCHIN ALL OVER AGAIN) And you thought Bokuchin was bad..... This guy's got Genei, Super Body, and Immortal all put together. Also, Ryumaou's prevention item only blocks his thrid battle ability so you can't get away from this one. Yuka has a trick to override his immortal ability explained in the cheats section of this faq, but as for the rest, all you can do is keep throwing him over and over and over...... If you have a ring of genie at this point, it would be EXTREMELY helpful. The 2 items that offer Heal (robe of life/repair kit) are very helpful too. If you can't use any of those items, you can try a Mirror of Goddess, since most of his attacks are projectile based, and do it that way. Other than that, just stick to the throws as much as possible. THRID BATTLE: Ability: He can use his final secret buster as often as he wants. In comparison to his first 2 versions, this guy's a pushover. He's only got one life, you can use any attack you like, all he can do special is keep throwing off his final secret buster, which, if you're in the air, can't hit you. Just attack him from far by using a jump kick then throw him. Repeat until he's finished off. I must say, this guy was a disapointment. *************************** * THE BIG LOOOOONG LIST * *************************** If you're just here to see how to get the items, then here it is. your system before you complete the tournament and try it again.

074 Feather of Kujakumyouou
Otedama 4 Cancel
All Players - 0
I haven't gotten it very often. I currently have it and when i got
it, i was using Ryuhi. He had about 210 wins and 100 wins in VS
mode. I think it has something to do with the number of wins you
have in VS mode. Actually I'm almost certain because last time I
got it, it was also just after having gotten some wins in VS.

* Suggested Character Setups *
******************************
Here's what I've noticed works pretty well for each character.
In the end it's up to you but I've played it just about every
way imaginable and this is what I've come up with.
Ryuhi: Sword of Shigoutaitei
Armor of Dragon King
Garuda Feather
Ring of Genie (or) Crown of Dragon King
Hayato: Sword of Shigoutaitei
Anaconda Fang
Robe of Vision
Red Jewel (or) Houou Feather
Wiler: #1: Bracelet of Devil
Armor of Dragon
Houou Feather
Red Jewel (or) Ring of Genie
Wiler: #2: Sword of Shigoutaitei
Armor of Satan
Houou Feather
Ring of Genie
Shouryu: Bracelet of Devil
Armor of Dragon (or) Anaconda Fang
Robe of Vision
Ring of Genei (or) Teleport Mantle
Yuka: Sword of Shigoutaitei
Armor of Dragon
Robe of Life
Ring of Genie
Suzaku: Sword of Shigoutaitei
Armor of Dragon
Houou Feather
Ring of Genie (or) Robe of Vision
Powers: Sword of Shigoutaitei
Armor of Dragon (or) Armor of Satan
Red Jewel
(Whatever you feel like, doesn't really matter)
Ryumaou: Sword of Shigoutaitei
Armor of Satan
Robe of Vision
Ring of Genie
note: The genei/superbody combo is very powerful.
Bokuchin: 1: Gold Sack
Armor of Dragon King
Robe of Life (or) Ring of Genie
Robe of Vision
Bokuchin: 2: Yokozuna Loincloth
Armor of Dragon King
Ring of Genie
Robe of Vision
Robo no Hana: Yokozuna Loincloth (or) Sword of Shigoutaitei
Armor of Dragon
Repair Kit
Ring of Genie
NOTE: Any time you see Armor of Dragon chosen as the choice of armor,
a Black Dragon Fang is a good choice aswell and, of course, the
Armor of Ryutentaisei would probably be a good choice too, but I
haven't found it yet.

* Cheats/Tricks to the Game*
****************************
I've picked up a few tricks to this game over the
LONG time that I've been playing it, here's what they are. Oh,
and all those COMPLETELY DUMB cheats that you find all over like:
"Bokuchin's belt goes black" or "OMG ROBO NO HANA'S THE WRONG
COLOR FOR HALF A SECOND!!" THAT'S NOT A CHEAT!!!! THAT'S A DUMB
GLITCH WHICH IS CUTE AND ALL BUT DON'T PUT IT ON A CHEAT SITE SAYIN
IT'S A CHEAT!
As for the REAL tricks:
1. Using Yuka: When you're fightning Metal Bokuchin or Shin Ryumaou
# 2, you can kill him in one life, and override his immortal
ability by finishing him off with one of her secret busters where
she traps her opponent in energy, picks him up, and then grabs
him in mid air landing on him. That's her original secret buster
and the one she gets from the Video for Expert vol. 1.
2. I guess it's worth mentioning: Very Hard/Very Easy Difficulty:
Press right or left 20 times at the difficulty setting.
3. ???'s Z potion: When "START" is flashing at the main screen (when
you first turn on the machine), press up 20 times fast and then
press "START" to enter the game. Continue regularly and complete
a regular tournament to get ???'s Z potion as the prize.
(Thx to GameFaqs.com)
4. Rare Items in regular tournaments: When "START" is flashing at
the main screen (when you first turn on the machine), press up 20
times fast and then press "START" to enter the game. Continue
regularly and complete a regular tournament to get an item that
you would normally only get in a championship tournament. That
one's pretty useless but it still works.
5. Unlimited Sword of Shigoutaitei's: Once you finally get this item
(and you will, it just takes time) immediately trade it to a spare
controller pack and do a regular tournament with the same character
that you got the sword with. You'll get another one. Repeat until
satisfied. This works with the Feather of Kujakumyouou aswell.
6. Kill your sparing partner: This one's more funny than anything.
Set up a character to have no armor and a dark dragon claw. Then,
use another character to spar against him in practice mode. If you
damage him enough to get him to 0 hp, (shouldn't be too hard since
he has no armor) he won't rejuvinate his hp, instead he'll get KO'd
and the game will exit you from practice mode.

* character Codes *
*******************
These codes are designed to get you the SECRET TECH, SCROLLS (secret
buster items), and METAL CHARACTER MEDALS. The game prevents certain
items from being "imported" by codes such as ANY of the Legendary
items so, NO I CAN'T GIVE THEM TO YOU. Also, it doesn't allow the
Metal character items (like the Gold Dragon Claw) to be imported OR
the items that can only be won in the Ryumaou Tournament (like the
Dark Dragon Claw). SOOOOOO, use them if you need the Scrolls or need
to unlock Bokuchin, Ryumaou SD or Ryumaou Virtual. As for the other
items, I tried to give the most difficult items to obtain as I could.
NOTE: Items that are imported will not show up in the book. You have
to trade them to another pack and back again to have them show
up in your book.
NOTE: BE AWARE!! THESE CODES WILL ERASE ANY INFORMATION YOU HAVE ON
YOUR PACK. I SUGGEST YOU ONLY USE THEM ON A SPARE/EMPTY SAVE
PACK. YOU CAN LOAD A CODE INTO YOUR SPARE PACK AND THEN TRANSFER
THE DESIRED ITEMS OVER.
