 Thanks to DemonSeed for providing a lot of these hints.
 The MSX1 & 2 version of Hydlide 3 is somewhat different from the Genesis and 
 Famicom versions. That's why I decided to make this small hints and tips 
 guide. 

 General Hints:

 -You can set the game to Engrish by entering the menu screen, selecting the
  last option, then the first option 2 times.
 -Buy a Lamp.
 -Make sure to always have food, heal, antidote and oil.
 -Make sure to have Mindforce above 65 or you won't be able to complete 
  certain tasks. Killing good creatures lowers it.
 -Watch the weight of items. If you surpass the allowed weight, you won't be
  able to move.
 -If your levels are too low, you won't be able to complete certain tasks.
 -You have to enter the holy shrine in the first town to raise your levels.
 -Make sure to buy new equipment when you can.
 -I will only mention the items you need to advance the plot, but it is 
  recommended you search the dungeons for chests and defeat enemies.


 Basic Walkthrough:

 -After doing your business in the first town, leave and go all the way north
  and you'll see a chest. Open it for the [Gold Exchanger].

 -Then follow the river right, then up until you reach the cemetery. On the
  second screen north of the cemetery, push the only grave that is right
  next to another one.

 -You'll enter a hidden town. Make sure to buy a spear or bow. Left of the
  town will be a guard not letting you pass. Go north to the next screen
  and there's a false wall that lets you in. Take the chests and search
  the top left chest 2 times to enter the hidden cave.

 -Find your way through this confusing cave until you reach the dragon. 
  The dragon room is on the top-left of the cave. 
  Before entering the dragon room, equip the spear or bow. These are the 
  only weapons that kills him. Shoot the heads before they breathe fire.
  It might take a long time to kill it if your levels are low.
  Once you kill him, you'll get the [Dragon Fang].

 -Leave the cave, then the town and go down from the cemetery, past the river
  and one screen left to enter the tower.

 -Find your way up to the sixth floor. On the top-right of the map there is
  a switch that turns on the elevators. Take any of the elevators up to the 
  113th floor. Step in the elevator again and cancel the message that asks
  you to go to another floor. Do a search right there to get the [Laser Sword],
  the strongest weapon in the game.

 -Take the elevator up to the 176th floor and search behind the top stairs
  to find the [Stone of Clouds].

 -Take the elevator again up to the last floor (190th) and take the stairs
  until the 198th floor. You'll see a window on the bottom with some clouds.
  Step out the window to reach the sky town.

 -Buy in the store the [Cross of God] and [Stone of Fighter] and equip them.
  Go to the magicians house to trade experience for spells. Try to buy as 
  many as you can. At least until you get the Transfer spell. With this 
  spell you can warp to the last location. Great for exiting dungeons.

 -Enter the castle in the center. From the entrance, outside of the castle 
  walls, go around to the north and you'll see a hole in the clouds. Equip
  the Stone of Clouds and jump down. You'll land in the Water Castle.

 -Go to the leftmost room, there should be a guard there that says "This is
  the reception room". Search in the top-left to get the [ID Card].

 -Now go to the king and give him the Dragon Fang. He will open the treasury 
  for you. Find [Scroll of Jim] there and leave the castle.
 
 -You'll be back on the main map again. Go left, then down a bit and then all
  the way left until you reach a big lake with some pillars coming out of it.
  Use Scroll of Jim and a dungeon will rise from the water.

 -Go a bit north, left, north, right and all the way down for the elevator
  to the next floor.

 -On the second floor, avoid the lasers and find your way to the bottom-left
  room of the map. There's a switch on the top-left part of the room that
  turns off the lasers. Now find your way to the top-left part of the map
  where some space suits are found. Search in from of them to get the 
  [Space Suit]. Equip it.

 -Now go to the middle left part of the map (on the way to where the switch
  room was) for the elevator to the 3rd floor.

 -Go up one screen, the right and get the [Space Compass]. Go up, left, all the
  way down, all the way right and enter the computer room. Search in front of
  the computer to get a message. Search again to get a message about a ship
  and some coordinates. Write those coordinates down (they change everytime
  you read the message). It will say (example): 
  X:12, Y: 20
  +3, -3
  
 -Now leave this dungeon (or use the transfer spell) and make your way to the
  world map again. From the entrance to the dungeon, go one screen left and 
  then all the way down. You should come across a big crack on the ground.
  Step into that crack from the bottom (wearing the space suit).

 -You are now in "space". Use the Space Compass to see your current location.
  Reach the exact location of the coordinates you wrote down. You probably 
  won't find anything. That's where the +3, -3 comes in. It just means that
  there's a margin error of more or less than 3 screens. So just go up, down,
  left or right 3 screens until you find a space ship.

 -Enter the ship. Go left, then down to get the [Bugle]. Then go to the lower
  left room of the map and search in front of the computer. You will get a 
  message and it will say to take "3 steps south and 5 steps west" in the 
  cave of the dead.

 -Leave the space ship and go all the way back to the graveyard, enter the
  town and then the hidden cave where you fought the dragon.

 -From the entrance of the cave, go all the way down, then left passing
  through 3 openings to the north. You'll eventually see the floor titles
  colored differently and there's a writing on the wall. From that wall, take
  3 steps south and 5 steps west and search the ground. You'll get the 
  [Amulet of DM]. 

 -Get out of the cave, then out of the town and go north of the cemetery and
  follow the river right, then down and you'll eventually see a mirror in the
  field.

 -Wear the Amulet of DM and enter the mirror. You'll enter a new map in another
  dimension.

 -Go down from the mirror following the river, then right, then up, left, down
  a bridge until you are in front of 2 graves. Use the Bugle in front of a
  grave and you'll enter a hidden town. 

 -Buy whatever you need, specially the Super Oil. Buy a lot of those, you are
  going to need them. Make sure to buy 2 or 3 [Holy Water].

 -Leave the town and go to the bottom-left of the map, enter the door to go
  back to the first map. 

 -Go back to the first town and go to the top-left part of the town. Stand in
  front of the wooden boards in the rock and use the Holy Water. A cave will
  appear.

 -Make sure you stock up because this cave is long and difficult.

 -In this cave you have to step in 10 places to get [Holy Light]. Once you
  get all 10, a sealed door will open.

 -It's impossible to describe where exactly they are located without a map.
  If you want maps, go to www.cheatmsx.com and search their maps section.
  There are 5 holy lights in the first floor. There are also 2 false walls.
  Without going through these false walls, you won't be able to get all
  the holy light or go to the 2nd floor.
  In the 2nd floor there are 5 more holy light and two more false walls.
  Make sure to get the Fire Sword from one of the chests. It's good for the
  last boss.
  Once you get all of them, find your way up to the top-left part of the
  map and the sealed door will open. There's a chest with the 
  [Idol of Varalys].
 
 -Leave the dungeon, go back to the mirror that leads you to the other
  dimension. Reach the gravestone and use the Bugle to go back into the hidden
  town. Go to the top right of the town to enter the jail. Go to the next
  room and talk to the bottom left prisoner. If you have the Idol of Varalys
  he'll give you the [Amulet of Exit]. Careful, if your item list is full, you
  won't be able to get the amulet. So make some room.

 -Make sure you buy everything you need, 'cause it's time for the final dungeon.

 -Leave the town, go all the way up, then all the way right until you see a 
  small bridge. Take the bridge down, then right and you'll see a rock 
  formation. 
  For the next step you have to wait until it's night time. After night comes,
  touch the rock from the bottom and you should head a sound. Use the Idol of
  Varalys and you'll be taken to the last dungeon. If it doesn't work, then 
  you are not standing facing the rock in the right place.

 -Go down, left, up for the elevator to the 2nd floor.

 -Go right. Careful with these machines, they freeze you. There are two on top
  that are broken and you can go through. Go to the right, then down. You 
  should see the elevator to the next floor. Instead of going right and taking
  the long road, look for a false wall that goes straight down.

 -On the next floor, go up, left, down (you'll see the next elevator), keep 
  going down, then left and search in the left wall to find the [Fairy]. Go 
  back to the elevator you passed and go to the next floor.

 -The following step is optional, but if you are low on energy, you might want
  to do it. If not, skip to the next step.
  Go right through the middle path. Stay in this path or you might get frozen
  or poisoned. Keep going right until the 3rd screen. You'll see a chest. You
  have to be careful now or you'll be warped to the 2nd floor. Go down to the
  chest, but there are some structures and wires in your way, just zigzag 
  around them. The only opening you have to reach the chest is from the bottom
  right wire. Once you're there, don't walk directly down to the wall, that's 
  where the warp is. Just walk ONE space down, ONE space left and ONE space 
  down again to stand directly on chest. There are more warps around, so 
  don't move. Open the chest for the [Tool of Camp]. It's basically a
  portable Inn. To return, take one step up, one step right, one step up.
  Then to go back to the elevator, just follow the same directions you took
  to get here. 

 -If you decided to ignore the step above, then just go left, up and down to
  enter the elevator to the final floor.

 -Go right, up, right, down, all the way right, down, all the way left and
  down.

 -The last boss will talk, go to the bottom of the room and he will appear.
  
 -To defeat the last boss you actually have to walk over to his mouth and
  have him swallow you. Once you are inside of him, attack like crazy until
  he dies.
