If you put the cart in an European MSX machine, the title will change to Game Master 2. The device worked on most Konami games for the MSX and MSX2 by inserting it in the other available cartridge slot of the system and it allowed you to increase your lives and select levels, among other things. _/_/_/ Differences _/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/ This new version removed certain features the Game Master 1 had, such as: Ranking Mode Hi Score Saving Color Test Pattern Save/Load to Tape Print Screenshots And added: Support for more Konami MSX1 & MSX2 games Integrated 2 mini games & a Biorythm program Ability to save some games to SRAM. The SRAM works just like a memory card. _/_/_/ Usage _/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/ All games must be loaded from the 2nd slot while the Game Master 2 cart is in the 1st slot. (Certain MSX2 games switch this order around though.) When you load the cart, you can hold ESC, Graph or Space to go directly into the game and you'll still be able to use the extra features (shown below). If you want to start the game without having the extra features available, then hold Shift while loading the GM2. _/_/_/ Game Menu _/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/ Once you turn on the system with your game of choice, you'll get the Game Master 2 menu. There are 3 options: Game, Modify and Self. -= Game =- Select this option to start the game without cheats. -= Modify =- This is where you enable the cheats. Once you enter the Modify Menu, you'll see a number on top, this is the product ID Number and each game has a different one. Below you'll see several options. Modify Stage Number: Press the Space key to enter and select the level you ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ want to start in. Press F5 to go back to the previous menu. Parodius: -While playing, press F1 to pause the game, then press "S" to save and "L" to load. -SRAM filename "PARO". _/_/_/ Tennis & Hockey _/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/ After entering the Tennis & Hockey menu you'll be able to chose between the two games. -Tennis is just like the classic game of Pong. -Hockey plays just like Tennis (Pong), but instead there's an opening in the back wall. If the ball goes in the opponent's opening, you win. If it goes in your opening, you lose. Just like Air Hockey. Both games have the same set of starting options: -Length: Modifies the length of the paddle. -Speed: Modifies the speed of the ball. -Type: Type A = 1 paddle. Type B = 2 parallel paddles. Type C= 2 alternating paddles. -Bar: Turns on or off a moving bar in the middle. _/_/_/ Extra _/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/_/ Extra options are made possible by the Game Master 2 and are enabled while playing the game. Not all of these options work on all the Konami games. Below I'll present a list of what games have these options available. But first, the extras: Pause Option: While playing, press the "Stop" key to pause the game. The Caps ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ light will turn on when you do this. To unpause, press the "Stop" key again. Skip Frame Option: While playing, press the ":" key to move the game one frame ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ at a time. Slow Motion Option: While playing, enable Pause mode, press "Esc" for slow ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ motion mode. But before you see the motion, you have to press "Delete" to increase the motion (it starts at 0) or press "Insert" to decrease the motion. Press "Stop" to disable this mode. Save & Load Option: While playing, enable Pause mode, press the left "CTRL" ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ for the save/load menu. You can save Screen Data and Game Data.
